Redwater Rustic Grille is centrally located in downtown Charlottetown, inside the lobby of The Holman Grand Hotel. The market-driven menu unites East Coast seafood and produce with premier AAA Angus beef, making for unique signature dishes and innovative creations. Our dining room features cherrywood and fossilized coral complimented by soft lighting to create an ambiance of casual refinement. A spanning window view allows for people watching as crowds bustle along Grafton Street and attend events at the neighboring ConfederationCentre of the Arts. Together, the rustic-chic decor of the restaurant and the high quality of our food combine to provide one of the city’s hottest dining destinations.
Went to Redwater just before catching a show at the Confed Center, just across the street which it’s great for. Our orders were very simple, a burger, the chowder and the chicken parpadelle. I ordered a double rum Plantation on the rocks. I was served a rum flavored water as I could not see any hints of yellow in that glass at all. Either they had drown my drink with water or someone watered down their bottle (amber rum). Next I was served a chicken flavored pasta as I could barely find bits of chicken (shredded) on my plate. Very disappointing for being an upscale restaurant. We definitely got the impression that they were trying to cut corners where they could. The plates tasted good, presentation was nice to covered up I guess. The service was excellent though, very attentive, I was not charged for the plate or the drink. We had 3 glasses of wine with the meal. it still ended up costing us $180 for a very basic meal. Not worth going, in our opinion.
Had a horrible experience. Had booked a reservation for my birthday dinner. The lady sat us at our table and no-one approached our table not even a welcome or water on our table. They would see us and walk up and down and serve other tables. After 5 mins of waiting the waiter approached us and he had the nastiest attitude. My fiancé and I ordered our drinks but because of the bad service I was put off and decided to leave to a close by restaurant. For a “high end” restaurant they should do something about their services. Never going back.
On a nasty, rainy night, I thought it was a good idea to have dinner at the Holman Grand Hotel instead of venturing outside. On the menu was a beet salad with goat cheese. I thought it sounds delicious. I have always enjoyed that back home. It was very, very disappointing..... It was doused in salad dressing and I could hardly find the candied nuts that apparently were in the salad.... somewhere. I won't go back again.
Pleasant upscale dining experience in the heart of downtown Charlottetown. Staff are wonderful, prompt, and professional. Food quality varies a bit. Some dishes are great and very tasty. Others are questionable. The veggie risotto was just odd, felt like there were way too many different ingredients competing for the front flavour (Olives won and I personally did not like that it overpowered the taste of everything else). The wonton nachos were good at first, but cooled quickly, leaving a sticky greasy mess that didn't scratch the itch for nachos. Sauteed mushroom side with steak were dry and flavorless, could have used any seasoning or sauce to improve. The red pepper dip and pita chips were great! Cocktails are nice, excellent variety of drinks to choose from and a very large wine tasting menu will please those looking for a relaxed table service experience. Overall a nice place for a few drinks but maybe be cautious about the food choices.
Fine dining food in a chill atmosphere. Service was top notch! Our server, Chelsea, went above and beyond for us - even when the restaurant became exceptionally busy during our meal. Meals were executed well, serving sizes of our food were standard to large. Wonton nachos - huge! Order of mussels - huge! Wine list was extensive, nice cocktail list as well. Lacking in mocktails. Unfortunate. Great place to visit in Charlottetown if you're looking for locally sourced food in a moody atmosphere.
Overall is ok. Beautiful interior and a good atmosphere. The dishes sold beautifully at Unreasonable high prices!!! The portions are too small that they should be, especially for the main course. "Srimps&Scalops" consist of 4 shrimps + 3 scallops, with a few baby potatoes with sauce for 45$. So.. it was not enough for my 13-een year son; he remained hungry.. I would not return to the restaurant a second time.
Updated May 2024: Still 5 stars. I mentioned their romaine salad with chicken being my fav. Sooo good! Shared more pics! @@@@@@@ Redwater Rustic Grille has a great menu with top quality food. I am a longtime fan of their grilled caesar salad with chicken. Unlike any others I have eaten, theirs has am amazing dressing flavored with jalapeños. For the next few weeks it is part of the Winterdine festival where top restaurants offer specials for lunch and dinners, changing offerings each week. This week they are offering chicken and waffles with chicken gravy and an incredible chipotle dipping sauce that tastes like an incredible honey mustard sauce. The chicken was crispy, boneless and had some heat. It was accompanied by a perfectly dressed wild lettuce salad that cut the richness of the chicken and waffles. My husband, not a fan of sauces, gravities or dips practically liked his chipotle cup clean and finished mine. :-) I asked to meet the chef to tank him for a terrific lunch. Because of the promotion of Winterdine it was a bargain, with mint chocolate affogato with a brown butter shortbread cookie. If you can, book a lunch while winterdine is in effect. Redwater Rustic Grille isn’t a cheap lunch normally, but worth it. At $20 it’s bargain! A great time to become acquainted with one of the best restaurants in the Maritimes.
Came in for breakfast while staying at the hotel. Service was great, friendly and helpful staff. The food itself was good, but the sausage was very salty. Enough that my six year old son noticed it. He loved the French toast. Prices are high, which while not abnormal in a hotel like this, is worth noting with so many other places nearby.
Had salmon eggs benny. Life-changing. Amazing. I still cant even. I need it again.
All was very good
Waitress was very friendly, which we found to be quite rare in Charlottetown. Good food. Nice atmosphere.
Delicious, quality food and excellent service.
Very nice dining experience.
Made reservations there for my birthday dinner earlier this month. The lady that is at the forefront desk had an unwelcoming and almost like annoyed face. Never greeted us in a formal and professional manner, not sure if she wanted to work but if you re not going to welcome guests at a restaurant please go home. Staff made my party of 7 including myself wait NEARLY 2 HOURS for our food. Tasteless horrible food to say the least. I brought my cake to cut and they wouldn t allow it but funny enough they don t sing happy birthday with a cake like some restaurants would. Horrible service we are all women of color and got weird snarky looks from the staff lol. Felt very uncomfortable, food was horrible everyone that worked there were unwelcoming except for our server he tried his best when it came to the food being late but overall probably will never go in there or as much as look inside from the street again. Waste of my time on my birthday and the only compensation for the late food was to remove gratuity LOL. Oh, and this was everyone in my party s first time in Redwater and we have all lived here for years. The first impression truly sucked. I really wanted to love the vibes and anesthetic after living here for years and passing it by on the sidewalks. I would give it negative 5 stars if I could.
We have eaten at all the so called best rated restaurants in Charlottetown in the last few days but I will say the best tasting and presentation is Redwater Rustic Grille. Hands down
I usually have steak here which is great and much better quality than sims steak house in Queen other foods are great too and servers are super friendly. Parking: At street side pay by meter Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it is wheelchair accessible
We are out tonight at Redwater Rustic Grill 3 out of the 4 got Burgers they were all burnt to crisp. I ordered gf and I expect the bun to not be good but it was the only edible thing.to eat. my burger was so burnt and dry that I still cant get that aweful taste outof my mouth. plus it came with very little toppings a little tiny tiny piece of a strip of bacon and tiny square of cooked lettuce no cheese no sauce it was inedible and it came with 8 pieces of microwave frozen pasta. usually they have gf bread but they didnt have that either.. the little I ate made me sick. The waitress was sweet .they used to have good food there but whoever is cooking now is aweful. Also there was only 1 other table there and we waited a while for our food. Now I know why it was sitting on the grill for 45 minutes burning to a crisp and I shouldnt have to tell the cook its aweful a blind person can see the meals were burnt, dry and tastlessb
My honey and I went for a special occasion to the Redwater Rustic Grille. Although there were a few problems with appetizers, overall the food was very good but even better was our server Wyatt!! He was so professional, friendly and went out of his way to make our visit a great one! Thank you Wyatt!!
I have never been to the Redwater Rustic Grill in Charlottetown before I have walked by it many times and said when I have a special date I will take them here . So last night Jan 28th 2024 was that night. We had a reservation I had asked for a quiet table in a corner when I made the reservation, they put us in the middle . The waiter asked if we read the special on the way in I said no he looked bothered by the fact that he had to read it to us and for good reason cause he messed it up he was suppose to say apple cinnamon toffee pudding but he said blood animal something instead. Then repeated it the right way we didnt order it . We looked through the wine list and picked a Cab Sav by the glass a wine I was familiar with , he came to show us another one instead as they were out of the one on the menu . So we tried it instead . It was OK. I wouldnt buy that wine for sure . We ordered a appetizer loaded wontons , figuring since this is a fancy restaurant that all appetizers and shareables would be tastfuly small portions we got the wontons it was as big as a full size plate of nachos, it was big , saucy , looked nasty and was not appetizing. Our 2 main courses combined , Mac and cheese and bacon and a 6 oz steak and veggies dwarfed to the size of that appetizer. Now our main courses were excellent very happy with those. Altogether with tip 173.00 Odd Service Bad wine Terrible Appetizer Great Mains No dessert Not worth the money . Will I be back , not anytime soon but maybe in the future everyone deserves a second chance.
Our food was delicious and our server, Denys, was exceptional. He was very attentive, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, and his added touch of humor was a bonus. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
We had a fabulous birthday lunch today hubby had the feature yum! I had the chicken pasta all so yummy service was terrific!!! Thanks Clayton!
My partner was craving steak, so we came here for dinner. I find hotel restaurants can be touch and go, but this one was a great one. Its right in the heart of the city and great for people watching if you sit outside on their beautiful patio. The steak was delicious and they had a lot of variety with their seasonal accompaniments. Great portions, and good service.
Amazing food, even if a little on the pricey side.
Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere, Clayton made the evening perfect.
We had a group of four, we all felt the food and service was outstanding. Our server Mark was fantastic as always......
I have always had really wonderful experiences here! The ambiance is beautiful, staff is lovely & food & specialty drinks are delicious! They always have a butter of the day which is made in house & it s always incredible! I always get mussels in white wine to start, it s a must try if you haven t! The chicken, the steak & the bison spaghetti are so Devine!! Definitely my top 3 picks!! The only thing I wasn t crazy about was the flat bread options. But I love everything else!
Love the atmosphere - hate the food. Neither myself or my guest enjoyed the meals, the menu is limited, and the prices are too high for whats offered. The space itself is very cozy and nice.
It s been a while since a plate has had my full attention, that s until I had the wong ton nachos please try they will not disappoint
Save your money. I came home to PEI to celebrate my dads birthday and decided on this place over the other fine dining options in Charlottetown due to the menu options. It was Sunday July 2 and Im not sure if the crew was hung over or if we simply got stuck with the B team, but I can assure you, we will never be going back. My wife and I showed up a little earlier than my dad and his girlfriend. Aside from a two top, we were the only people in the dining room. The servers were huddled in the corner chatting and we were directed to our seats. As soon as we sat down, we noticed how dirty(very cloudy with streaks) the wine glasses were. After about 10-15 minutes of twiddling our thumbs, our server finally showed up. He was extremely quite and to be honest, very awkward. Especially when we mentioned the state of the glasses. Almost as if thats how they always present their glasses. Needless to say, we were already questioning how this place has 4 stars on Google. Our server was pretty knowledgeable regarding the menu, but thats probably the only highlight. Once we received our food it was all downhill. Apps ordered were 2 wild shrimp on focaccia, Belle river crab cakes, and mussels. I was told the shrimp were good, but the crab cakes were bland, watery, probably frozen, and nothing to write home about. Especially at $25. As for the mussels, they should have never made it to the table. They were off. Way off! So far off that as soon as they were set on the table all of us could smell it. Mains were a surf & turf(med-rare), halibut, 6oz tenderloin(med-rare), and ribs. I was reassured that the halibut was good, but their veg, just like the 2 steaks were barely cooked. Ya sure, people will say al dante, but after about 12 years in kitchens, I can tell you. They were under cooked. The steak was poor quality, without any seasoning and the 6oz tenderloin was almost med-well. The mushrooms were rubbery and flavourless. As for the ribs. They were cooked alright, but nothing to write home about. All in all. We were horribly disappointed. Especially after seeing reviews and reading the write up of their chef. Who I assume wasnt working that day. Which if its the case, I would strongly suggest they start focusing on quality control. As a former chef myself, I would have been embarrassed to serve the food we received or even have my name associated with it in any way. In a sea of decent reviews, Im hoping that we were the one off and this place is better than what we experienced. Maybe bland food is an Island thing and Ive been away too long, but at $100 a head, some seasoning and basic knowledge of food quality should be expected.
Hate to say it but the value just isnt there. Overpriced omelette and served moldy gluten free bread. $65 for sub-par breakfast just isnt worth it.
I cannot begin to express how much my wife and I LOVED Redwater! The dining room was very comfortable and classy. Our server was a very nice, polite young fella that was very versed in the menu. The mussels were phenomenal! My wife throughly enjoyed her burger and Yukon gold mash and I had the best mushroom risotto! So full of flavor. And the margherita and basil flatbread had an amazing crust. Tender-chew with a nice crunch. The pesto made the flavor pop off the plate! Just fanatic! And, because we were celebrating our anniversary, they gave us a piece dark chocolate cheesecake with a Chantilly cream that was out of this world!! I mean, we could have eaten 2 of those bad boys! Such a thoughtful gesture on their part. We will DEFINITELY be returning to this gem! Weve been looking for a good place to eat in town and we finally found it, and then some! Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian risotto that I almost ordered, and Im not a vegetarian. Thats how good it sounded!
The bartender and waiter were friendly, funny, and very attentive. The food was delicious, and the serving size was perfect. Prices were high, but in keeping with the level of service and the quality of food.
Although the atmosphere was nice and in the past we have experienced good food, this was not the case this past Tues evening. It was a special occasion of my parents 53 wedding anniversary and we were disappointed on many levels. The meals that we ordered were the Halibut which was doused in a sauce that didn t enhance it at all. In fact it ruined a nice fish. The pasta, although tasty was very skimpy with the chicken with very small slivers. The Thai salad was very basic and also had very little chicken in it. For the price that was charged we felt that the food should have been a lot better. Unfortunately, this will not be in my list to return to or recommend to others as I had previously done.
Thanks Chelsea and her team for helping me getting a bottle of wine for my best friend s birthday dinner at the restaurant. Having to call from Australia to order the wine was daunting but the team made it easy and helpful! Love their work and thank you once again.
We really enjoyed the food, service and relaxing time we had there.
A really nice little spot, great wine selection and very tasty pasta! Would absolutely go back.
It feels like a pretty high-end restaurant. The price is not much more expensive than other Internet celebrity restaurants, but the service is very good, the seats are comfortable, and the food is very comfortable. I didn t order the lobster roll because it had cheese. The seafood soup is full of ingredients , and the fries are delicious
Good cuisine
Love the ambiance but when they are busy be ready to wait
We came back for more! The cuisine was absolutely delicious, excellent drinks and fresh desserts. A+ romantic dining experience- friendly staff , thank you PEI!
Trying to Delete this and I am unable too
Amazing food with great ambience. Staff was really good!
My sister and I enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant while staying at the hotel and absolutely had great experiences. The food was really tasty and the wait staff were very friendly. We look forward to going back again when we visit the Island next summer.
Always great food, great staff and on of the best spots to go to in Charlottetown.
This is rapidly becoming my favorite bar and grille in Charlottetown. We aways sit at the bar even if were dinner.
Always a good meal. One of the best semi-formal dining rooms in Charlottetown. The menu is not large but has something for everyone. Definitely not a pub. Service is polite, helpful and efficient.
Everything Ive had here has been delicious. Staff is very friendly as well which is always a bonus. My one suggestion would be to increase the options for draught beer, see about getting more local products outside of just Upstreet
The food is consistently lacklustre. This time, I ordered the Prime Beef Burger with the soup. The beef was anything but prime. It was thin, dry and obviously prepped in the morning, chilled and then barely warmed before serving. The soup was possibly the most neutral dish Ive ever had as it was 1° from either great or terrible. The bread was stale and then obviously frozen as the outside was crumbling dry while the inside was nearly fresh. Redwater seems to cut every available corner while pricing as if they dont and using pretense to demand higher costs, which makes it offensive as a customer and deserving of the lowest rating. We had early dinner reservations and were told we had to wait to be seated while the restaurant was 90% empty as they needed to get our table ready. The server was unprepared, didnt know the the soup (how do you get a serving job without the ability to walk in the kitchen and ask what the soup and specials are immediately when you arrive on shift?) or offer any specials, recommendations or offer to assist us in any way, yet consistently had a lingering presence which bordered on abusive due to the lack of personable care. It was almost as if he knew the food was not great and was unhappy that his tips depend on the quality of food coming out of the kitchen and couldnt bring himself to relate to us. Anyone who rates this place 5 stars obviously doesnt understand food or the restaurant business. There are far better places to eat in Charlottetown. Its sad when a Maids burger and Swiss Chalet bread is fresher..
Incredible food. Everything was on point and the service was excellent! Ill be back!
Horrible they re trying to be too fancy for the food they serve. The menu has nothing to offer for the average person, and way too over priced. Found a hair in my seafood chowder and they put ranch on my pizza. Not happy staff was great and restaurant was clean. Food just tasted awful.
Got the Burger Love. Burger was very, very dry. The hassleback potato was incredibly undercooked. There is no reality where that bun is brioche. What a waste of money. Only reason I m giving it 3-stars is because normally the food is good, but this was an absolute disappointment and not worth even half what was paid for it - literally threw half of it out.
Food was excellent and enjoyed every bite. Drinks were flavourful, and effective haha. Shout out to our server Toro for the great service.
Amazing service and food was excellent. Will definitely come back.
The service is excellent, the food and cocktails are super good! A little expensive but thats normal, it goes with the quality of the cuisine. This is one of the only restaurants open later in the evening (after 8:00 p.m.)
Excellent food and service! My son has food allergies and they went above and beyond to make him a safe and delicious meal. I would 100% go back!
Excellent service. Fine dining lounge. Scallops were cooked perfectly, seafood chowder was delicious.
Worst mac&cheese ever had! plus the quantity sucked.
The burger was sad $21 came dry and burnt in the edges. Forgot our friends order fries were undercooked. Your paying premium prices for the decor and downtown location food not so much.
Ive eaten here many times in the last few months & I have no complaints - service was great, atmosphere great and food was great - hard to find all 3 in one spot!
Warm decor with a lovely patio. Food is styled well and visually appealing. Friendly service. Great spot for a bite before seeing a play!
The food was decent, nice atmosphere, and our server was fantastic
Very rich, but expensive.
Service and food was poor and overpriced. It took over an hour for fish cakes and seafood chowder appetizers. Fish cakes were okay but I question if they were made there or frozen from a box. The seafood chowder might have been amazing a year ago but not last night. It had two mussels and one piece of lobster and the other two at the table had two mussels each. The consistency and flavor of the seafood chowder was good but last night they should have called it chowder soup. I m also not a fan of fishing out mussel shells from chowder. To top it all off, I was left with GI upset an hour later. Will never recommend and never return.
Amazing food and service!! Best meal we had on PEI.
I thought the food was good, but not spectacular for the price. Our server Clayton was amazing! Really like the down to earth atmosphere despite being a fancier restaurant.
Excellent dinner at Redwater Rustic Grille. Our waiter Wyatt was out of this world polite and served us very professionally. Extremely happy with this experience.
We arrived at the host entrance and waited a while. Eventually a host came out and just as she was greeting us the phone rang and she said just a moment , answering it. She proceeded to take the call, say I ll be right back as she went to the kitchen, came back and continued giving prices to the person online. When I worked in restaurants I always believed that the person in front of you can be attended first, but maybe not everyone agrees. Eventually we were seated in a near empty restaurant directly beside one of the few other tables. We were told the table is dirty and she ll have to clean it; no problem. We request to sit one table over, she sighed and said ok , as we sat there she said just so you know this table is dirty too . It was our anniversary and I just felt like this evening was getting less and less special. The vibe was off so we decided to leave. Perhaps the food is good but after the initial interactions with the host, we decided to leave & went down the street to a beautiful patio where we received excellent service, which we didn t get here.
Amazing chowder, lovely staff
This is a review of the Last four occasions eating here, and it is always spectacular. The steak and fish are alwaysperfectly cooked, and the sides come out hot. The service workers have always been attentive and prompt with food and drink orders. The menu of cocktails created by the bartenders are fantastic.
Went to the Redwater Rustic Grille for lunch today after an absolutely terrible experience at another restaurant nearby that we walked out of. This experience was completely different. First, our waiter was absolutely fantastic knowledgeable, attentive, friendly. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the soup of the day, a roasted red pepper soup to die for! My main course was the Maple Chipotle BBQ Chicken stone baked flatbread. DELICIOUS! And to top it off, coffee and Sticky Toffee Pudding with rum sauce and chantilly cream. Everything from the atmosphere, the incredible waiter and the awesome food was such a wonderful experience. And the price was more than reasonable! Highly recommended!
Had a great experience at the Redwater! The service was amazing and the food was great. One of the best steaks I ve ever had. Highly recommend this place
Very clean but the wait is long. It took them 25 minutes to come see us after being seated and ask what we would like to drink. Food was alright. I ordered Roasted chicken which was really good but the carrots were undercooked. My husband ordered a steak which was 70% fat, was cold and did not appear great. Mac and cheese that he ordered with it was very runny and tasted very bland.
Had scallops today, it was good, especially that i was craving them. But i paid 31 and change for 5 scallops. Its a typical island over priced restaurant. A pound of scallops cost 19 bucks which are 15ish or 20 scallops depending on size, these guys are pushing it on margins. Nonetheless i enjoyed them, but it made me over think whether i should tip or not. I sat at the bar, so not much service needed but i felt that the norm is to tip, so i did out of conformity. 5 bucks
Great food it was delicious and mouth watering the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was amazing. We will definitely be back for date night
Beautiful atmosphere, great service, but other than the steaks wich are very good, I m always desapointed by the food.
We always have wonderful service at Redwater Rustic Grille. The menu has something for all tastes. Great spot for lunch meeting and date night.
Incredible all around, atmosphere is the best on the island, food is also one of the best on the island, and clayton the server is incredible. really enjoy this place.
Very good service, lots of good, but not outstanding food, a little overpriced.
the food - great, atmosphere - classic tho the day we went it was a hectic day i suppose (it was obviously crowded), we did get abit unfortunate lucks with our foods (appt was missing, main ran out as i wanted to order), but the server came in clutch at end and offered us great deserts (i noticed she was very stressed and did miss place forks etc or how she handled dishes, and i dont blame her at all, i blame the management, if u think ure understaff, hire more folks, u cant expect a few server to be able to handle everything perfectly, so as ur top grade fancy restaurant must be) fyi this was before the after valentines and before the 50%
Great service. Toro was great.
very professional service , fast service and food was excellent
Enjoyed a lunch here...so very good. A beautiful place to dine...had a sweet waitress...and all the staff so nice and friendly .
Have come here multiple times with my husband and we have thoroughly enjoyed our visit each time. I quite liked my surf and turf and the fact you can choose 2 sides
A hidden great place! perfect service. I love My seafood chowder.
Awesome food and service for our 5oth Anniversary Family Meal. Thanks to everyone.
red pepper dip is amazing
Amazing apps! Delicious food and efficient, personable staff!!
Great restaurant, great food, great drinks and great staff!
Food was delicious and server Clayton was wonderful
Best tenderloin steak I have ever tasted, service was great, presentation perfect, ambience and atmosphere was lovely. And we got a surprise free dessert because they said it took longer to come to the table than it should have! Loved it.
Excellent and comfortable atmosphere. Super friendly and efficient service and, of course, the food is incredible.
Food is 5 star, staff are friendly and atmosphere is nice. We had a couple issues while dining with wait time for our meals and some items not being available after we ordered them, however the manager went above and beyond to made things right in the end without us having to say anything. Will certainly dine there again.
Good food, good service but took 1 hr to get our food. Restaurant was 20-30% capacity. I wasn t hungry when the food arrived.
Absolutely an amazing chowder, best ever. Chock full of lobster, etc. Just the right level of creaminess. Best I ve ever had in Canada, coast to coast.
They dont deserve a one star at all. We called to make a reservation and we were told that they were accepting walk-ins only so we drove over and when we got there we were told that was not true and we were asked to leave. The lady inspected my phone to see and denied that was true. Clearly racists!! Such a shame. We ended eating at our first choice anyways, the merchantman and we loved it
Had a meal with client. First class food and service. Highly recommended.
Loved this place. Top notch food and service
The steak was super tender. Excellent service! Thank you
Excellent client service! Good food too!
Wanted to eat here but they were full. Which isn t the issue or much of a surprise because it was a Friday night. But we were not impressed by the greeters attitude when we arrived. We asked about being seated but we were told in an impolite and abrupt manner we don t have any tables . We waited a moment and then asked what the wait time was and he said 8pm (which would have been almost a 2 hour wait). This confused us because that s a long time for a free table, but I guess that meant they had every single table booked for the next 2 hours .so we said ok and left. It just would have been nice to have been spoken to in a nicer manner such as we are fully booked until 8 pm but could put you on a waiting list if you would like .
Nice decor, good staff, food reminded me of Boston Pizza, not offensive, not creative, but over priced for what you got
Good food good services as always!
My husband and I truly enjoy this restaurant. The food is always delicious. They accommodate all food allergies. The staff is top notch. While it is a little pricey, it worth it for occasions.
The food and service were excellent
Unfortunately 1 star is higher than our last experience deserved. We experienced everything from what was clearly many days old, frozen then thawed and warmed bread complete with house butter that closely resembled Becel to barely warm and much too thin chowder (complete with undercooked veg.) to a fatty, gristly steak that was the feature for the evening. Said steak was to come with a glaze of sort but upon arrival the glaze resembled, in both taste and consistency, that of the average jar of Gerber baby food. The ice water, beer and cooler my wife had were all fantastic however. Our experience was approximately 90 minutes of our lives we would like to have back.
Lovely staff, great food. Quiet and intimate dining.
We have eaten here several times and have been completely satisfied. However, on this occasion (I hasten too add that this critique is only meant in a constructive manner) my wifes sea food chowder was VERY salty and my salmon bagel (should have been toasted) was not toasted, had plenty of cream a cheese, but very small amounts of salmon, capers and red onion. So why this online critique and no direct mention to the waiter? The answer: service was superb, friendly and attentive so we did not wish to disturb either the waiter or an otherwise pleasant experience. Perhaps the head chef was on a well deserved post-holiday rest.:-) Rob L
Nice atmosphere, good service, excellent food
Food was good. Service was exceptional.
Great Valentines Day dinner. The seafood Linguini was awesome. My gf had the Special for Valentines Day. We both loved the food and ambiance .
Amazing food, amazing service and great prices! The whole experience was fantastic. Ill forever recommend the wonton nachos!
Excellent meal and ambiance.....
Beautiful restaurant! The staff has always been friendly, and really great. I always have gotten the Pierogies, and they are amazing! The rest of the food on the menu looks amazing as well! I always tip, because the staff deserve every penny. Especially during these unprecedented times.
One of the best steaks of my life! Top notch service and comfortable surroundings. Thanks so much and see you again
Great atmosphere, good service and excellent food. A+ on following all covid rules.
Excellent dinner - will dine again!! Kieron took excellent care of us - thanks again Kieron! The food was very generous and as good as it looks!! Also my friend said the gluten free options were excellent... meanwhile I enjoyed the garlic bread ;)
Wonderful meal and service...Covid prepared
Great atmosphere friendly staff clean amzing food will definitely be back for sure
The best seafood chowder in Charlottetown!
Great service, very nice place. I did order a medium spicy dish, and it was extremely hot, so Id caution on that. Other than that, prices are as expected, cocktails a bit pricey.
A good place to treat yourself to a nice meal.
Great staff and great prices
Awesome tenderloin. Cooked to perfection
Great food and service
Great food...even better aervice
So look: coming here for the wonton nachos is reason alone to move to Charlottetown. Theyre good enough to share with four people or two very hungry friends. Carbalicious with a wheat beer. Unbelievable. This is our go-to cheat day on the whole island. Staff is also fantastic but that chef! Holy moly! Do stop by here for that quiet, relaxed dining moment. Sorry the photo is of my empty plate - I ate the food too fast because it was too good.
The food and ambiance are amazing
Wasnt here but cool name
We have eaten here quite a few times, but the last 2times we have been dissapointed. I ordered arugula salad with salmon, and it was nothing spectacular and over $30.00, could have easily made it at home, not very flavorful. My husband ordered a appetizer special, also just average and a risotto that was more like a rice dish. Id personally would recommend The Brickhouse, Calladagh, or Terre Rouge for the same prices.
One of my favourite places downtown. Dont let the idea of a hotel restaurant steer you away: your wont regret going here for a special occasion. Bonus: I believe they have the celiac seal on their menu, so if you need gluten free they can accommodate you fully.
Best place to go excellent food super good services
Good food and good prive. Very good service
This place was recommended to us and it was just OK. First of all the linguini and sauce were excellent as was the shrimp that came with it. Unfortunately the scallops and mussels were overcooked and tasteless. When my wife remarked that 3 small prawns on a salad for $13 seemed expensive for what she got the server was very indifferent. We have had much better dining experiences in Charlottetown Very overpriced for what you get.
Dont miss this restaurant! Great food. Great service. Great friendly staff. And did I say the food was fantastic??? Loved it.
Amazing food, great ambiance and friendly staff
Second time we have been for breakfast each time the food was iffy. This time they couldn t make my youngest tea because they didn t have hot water. How does a professional kitchen not have hot water. The eggs were greasy and salty. Other places in town are much much better.
Great atmosphere, great service and great food. Very happy with the evening.
The impeccably professional service always makes this restaurant a fantastic experience. Food is well presented and very tasty. Wonton nachos are awesome.
Limited menu and specials ran out of bread. Understaffed for lunch crowd, particularly Fridays.
Great food, great service.
Food was delicious and the server was top notch
Bad, bread and beef are old
Whether youre grabbing a drink with some friends or looking for a great meal RedWater doesnt disappoint.
I odered the BEST OF SEA courses. NOT GOOD AT ALL! The clams in starter was full of sand. Nothing tasted good but the lobster in the starter. And he lobster tasted good only because it s a lobster. Main course was a disaster. Raw, salty tuna laid on tasteless cup noodle.
Portions are small for the price. My son ordered a side order of mash potatoes only which cost $11 and 25 minutes later we received microwave powdered potates
Service, staff and food was great. I like this place. Recommended
Friendly staff and good food in a well run restaurant.
Very good, recommended
Food was great but the service was very slow. Glasses would sit empty without an offer to refill. Better service would have resulted in a 4 or 5 rating.
Great caesar !
Great food and service!
Good food
We made reservations but still took a long time to be waited on. We had asked for a booth & highchair and ended up with a platform booth, so the highchair was significantly lower than the table. The highchair has no tray & there is a kid menu, but no kid-friendly cups or dishes. The food was very good, once it finally arrived, and the service was slow but friendly. It would be a nice spot for an evening out- though a little pricey. I would not recommend bringing small children.
Over priced, halibut portion was extremely small and worst of all it was over cooked and cold. Stay away, absolutely awful!
I can imagine the Prince Edward island is a difficult market for restaurants. And the Red Water does it well. Service is great. I go 5 or 6 times a year and except for the occasional hiccup everything is great.
Not as good as it us d to be. Seems to have gone down hill. Food two of us ordered did not taste good. Had send it back and order something else. Two peoples meals were OK but not as good as it used to be.
