Corner of Water &, 141 Water Street, Prince St, Charlottetown, PE C1A 1A8, Canada
We are a small family business operating a Seafood Restaurant and Lobster Pound. We offer a wide range of seafood in our restaurant, ship live lobster across Canada, and retail seafood to our customers locally in Charlottetown, PEI.
Had the best lobster roll, chowder, fish cakes, crab dinner with mussels and 2lb lobster. Beach Chair lager was refreshing too! We stopped by for lunch and had to leave abruptly. Our server was friendly and helpful, got the rest of our meal packed up for us efficiently. We enjoyed our lunch so much, came back in the evening to get more food! Thanks for the hospitality and superb service, you folks rock!
Hands down 5/5 meal here in Charlottetown PEI. This place has something for everyone and there is not a single dish that is less than perfect. Prices are reasonable for the quality that is being produced, not to mention the product (lobster isn't a cheap dinner item to begin with). But here the price is so reasonable and the food is delicious. We (4 people) got fish cakes (came with garden salad), 1.25lb lobster dinner (came with mussels and baked potato), 1.5 lobster dinner (came with clam chowder, and potato salad), breaded scallops, fish (halibut) and chips, and chicken strips and fries. Everything was real tasty and the lobster was the star of the party. Highly recommend getting a meal here if you're in PEI, however, this is a popular spot so I recommend making a reservation in the morning.
On a lengthy stay and eating at central part, North west and western part of PEI I would say keeping lobster roll as seasonal price was shocking because we didn’t find them priced seasonal but that’s fine business differs from place to place. Loved the service, very kind workers and treats customers really good. Loved scallops and fresh oysters. Tried breaded scallop and it was amazing. Lobster roll bun was really good compared to other places we had but the lobster quantity in the roll was bit less.
Every now and then, you come across the REAL DEAL. This restaurant is one of them. They serve the most delicious and visually delightful lobster rolls ever created. Don't let the East Coast elite throw you off with their claims of superior Maine and Massachusetts lobster rolls. Water Prince serves local lobster, straight from the area bays. A friendly staff awaits you... this is a destination!
We came to this restaurant for dinner on a Saturday night. We made a reservation so we can sit inside. If you don't have a reservation, you probably would sit outside and the tables are shared. We ordered a lobster dinner 1.5lb with seafood chowder and baked potato, a steamed mussels and a scallop dinner. The seafood chowder arrived first and it was served with a warm biscuit. It was pretty good. The mussels were yummy but with a tiny little broth only. The lobster tail meat was a bit tough but the claws were good. The scallops were cooked just right and we enjoyed them. The service was good. The lobster was a bit pricy.
We visited PEI for the first time and stopped by for lunch, especially to try out PEI’s most loved lobster roll! The lobster roll was great. As well as the fish and chips we ordered. We also ordered a 2lb lobster which was phenomenal but was very disappointed to learn after our food arrived that they do not provide lobster cracker. You’ll have to bring in your own lobster cracker. Our server Emma was incredible and helpful!
This place is great. Water-Prince is the ideal destination if you're looking for a good, fresh, casual, seafood experience. The staff are lovely, the food is really well prepared and fresh, the frills are few, and it's a great time. We went twice within a week because we enjoyed it so much and have no doubt this will be a go-to for every visit to Charlottetown. If you're looking for a place to dig into some oysters, mussels, lobster, clams etc., it's worth a visit. And a big shootout to Ron, he helped us both times we visited and truly added to the fun, warm experience.
Came here for lunch thanks to a friend's recommendation, and it did not disappoint! We were in PEI in early June, probably a week or two before peak season but we still called ahead to make sure they had space for us. It wasn't busy when we were there, but reservations are definitely recommended especially during the busy summer months, as the restaurant is not particularly big. Between the three of us, we shared a 2 lb lobster dinner (which comes with a side and choice of potato - we went with steamed mussels and fries), and the lobster roll (served with potato salad). The seafood was incredibly fresh and stood on its own with just a bit of lemon and melted butter - the simplicity of the dishes really let the seafood shine! We had mussels several times during the remainder of our trip around the east coast, and none could compare to the mussels at Water Prince. The lobster was juicy and succulent. Atmosphere is old school and homey, with license plates, records and knick-knacks covering the walls. Service is friendly and diners are a mix of locals and visitors. Definitely recommend!
Charged me $3.50 for one 355ml can of Pop! They cost a buck some other places (dollar store). You will not find a price that high anywhere else for that size, even convenience stores I checked. They are making about $2.50 - 3 bucks profit on that one can of pop alone. I ONLY paid that cause it was on a very hot summer day and I was very thirsty. Absurd price, for an item you didnt have to do anything to or prepare. Cant imagine how expensive the food is.
Pretty good lobster roll here!
The lobster roll was tiny for the supposedly family restaurant price. Half a slice of tomato and cucumber on the side. Tough times!
I tried the seafood chauder. Its OK. Not much seafood, mostly potatoes. I thought it was quite expensive. I should have tried the lobster roll. A lot of people were eating it.
Really good seafood and lobster here. The bread rolls are the best!
You might hesitate and think, DONT GO IN THERE, but DO! It is really SUPERB. Decor is license plates and one very large crab, tables are very close together, but DO GO IN! The service is wonderful and the food is even better. We had the chowder, which was the best we had on PEI, scallops which were cooked beautifully, and fried oysters, yum!!!
Not sure about the food. I had a limited time to get back to my cruise ship and ordered a beer. The waitress convinced me that I had time to order their highly rated lobster roll, so I ordered it. About 15 minutes later, the waitress asked me how was the lobster roll, I replied I never received it. They sent the order to the wrong table. I told them to cancel the lobster roll because I had to go.
Amazing personal, Amazing food and the place is historical too. The weather was cold and the lovely staff bring us some blankets .
First off, I wanted to say that our first experience with Water Prince Corner Shop as locals back in 2023 was a phenomenal dining experience. We were warmly greeted with smiles, personality, and hospitality. Our food was spectacular and the staff chatted with us throughout the evening. We left with fond memories and promised we would return the following year (we like to try new places on our beautiful island). However, our second experience this evening was unfortunately not as pleasant. As we made our reservation, we were told to arrive before our scheduled time, which we did. Upon our arrival, the hostess coldly commented that we were early and immediately we could tell the vibe was not the same. As our table was cleared, we were told to sit as she continued to go back up to the front. Not a how are you this evening or even a little banter. We sat for quite some time (long enough to finish our glasses of water) before our order was taken, even though parties who arrived after us were seated, greeted with chit chat, smiles, and discussions which we would have liked to have experienced. We honestly felt invisible as a couple of local islanders. Our meals came and we sat there for quite some time before we eventually finished them, without being checked on by any of the staff. We couldn t help to see other tables receiving service, chats from the staff, while we completely felt invisible the entire meal. Not only have we noticed a difference with the service but with the food itself, which didn t seem like the same quality we experienced in 2023. I used to recommend this establishment to tourists, family and friends but after our cold experience this evening, I would be hesitant to do so. It is disheartening as our experience in 2023 was almost magical.
2 visits, one visit lobster roll & fish & chips. Leah & Coady made it a 5 star experience. Returned next day after cruise ships left. Initially told no table for 30 minutes, we said ok then it was suggested 45 minutes & was finally asked to return in 55 minutes. As we walked away we decided 55 minutes plus service time= about 1 1/2 hours to eat. Not taking phone number if something came up also led us not to call & cancel sitting. Fully enjoyed first visit, left disappointed on second.
Excellent regional cuisine at a fair price. We had the fish & chips (halibut), seafood chowder and scallops, everything was cooked to perfection. Washed down with local beers, everything was perfect. The service is good and friendly.
A must stop, when visiting. Pure delight for your lobster fix.
Great food and great service!!!
Tried the lobster roll. Good amount of met- tasted great!
Our second time in the maratimes This was by far distance the best lobster! By far!!! Food : 5/5
This place came Highly recommended and after experiencing the food atmosphere and service I can see why! Hands-down, the best seafood I ve ever had an amazing seafood chowder. It made our visit to PEI just that much more special.
We wanted to have the best seafood experience while visiting PEI for a short trip. We are happy to visit the Water prince corner shop. Both the food and service was great.
Both food and service was great
Excellent lobster roll! We also got scallops which were among the best Ive ever had!
Insanely good lobster roll. The fried clams were a recommendation from the server and they did not disappoint. A must try if you visit here.
FANTASTIC meal, and very friendly staff.
Was here on a cruise walked the island beautiful place. The best lobster roll
You have to eat here if you re in Charlottetown, especially if you want any seafood! It is sooo good. The chowder is the best chowder I had my whole trip! The owner Coady is the nicest, most down to earth guy. This is just one of those local family-owned spots that warms your heart and your belly. Yummm.
Great experience thank you! Had The lobster meal 1.5lb Breaded scallops were also delicious! Food : 5/5
I came with my family on August 20th at night, the restaurant was completely full, but they still managed to fit us (party of 6) ! The waitresses were really nice, the food was delicious and in generous portions ! The music was well chosen and the decoration was warm ! They announced there was waiting to get the food but it wasn t long at all ! There was a mix up in our order but the waitress gave us a free additional plate and both dishes were really good. The prices are not expensive and the food is great, we recommend !!
Seafood was fresh and delicious, reasonable priced. The scallops were fresh and large. Halibut was good too.
Cute little spot with amazing food! Loved everything we tasted (mussels, clam strips, Halibut, coconut cream pie)!
The atmosphere is great, the staff are really friendly and the food is absolutely excellent!
Best seafood we had our entire trip
Its a must if you visit Charlottetown. The food was delicious; it reminded me of my grandmas recipes. You have to try the mussels. The service was excellent. People were kind, and the atmosphere is terrific. You get immersed in the past. It was a little expensive, but it was worth it. LOVE IT
The service is good. But the food quality and portion size is definitely not match the price. The lobster roll is ok and test good but we ordered a shrimp cocktail which is with small frozen shrimps. It not worth over $15
Everything about this place was great. Fresh amazing food, cool atmosphere, friendly staff. Suggest you make a reservation as thru are a very busy place {for good reason!)
Diner/seafood shop setting. Often a wait for a table, it is worth it. If you eat in 1 spot in PEI, this is it.
The food was excellent - the seafood in water prince platter was fresh and tasty and the warm biscuit that comes with the chowder was delightful. But the service was disappointing. We were left waiting for a long time before being seated. Be aware that some side options come with an additional charge. When we asked the waitress, she insisted it was mentioned on the menu, but it wasn t, and she didn t inform us when we ordered. While the extra cost was small, the overall experience was not enjoyable.
We ordered the lobster roll and fries as the side. I love the fries as it is home fries and not very oily. The lobster roll has abundant of lobster meat.
This was originally a grocery store from 1850, but for the past 30 years it has been a seafood restaurant. This was our first visit to this restaurant and it will not be our last. The restaurant exudes a cozy, maritime vibe with rustic wooden tables, fishing nets, and other maritime memorabilia adorning the walls. Its a casual, no-frills setting that makes you feel right at home. The staff are friendly and welcoming, providing great service that reflects the shops commitment to hospitality. We order the seafood chowder, mussels and fish cakes to share. The seafood chowder was thick and creamy loaded with chunks of seafood including lobster and scallops. Delicious would be and understatement. Mussels were cooked to perfection. The fish cakes very fried crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, server with a dish of local mustard pickles. It is a little on the pricey side compared to other restaurants but well worth the extra money. I would recommend reservations if you are visiting during peak times.
Delicious lobster sandwiches! Fresh and juicy!
This is an amazing place. You must stop get off the hustle and bustle of the port. This place is just a couple minute walk.
The lobster roll with fries and the scallop burger are highly recommended. Delicious!!! Great service and food arrived quickly at our table. Highly recommend eating here.
Tiny restaurant with limited seating, but so worth the wait. We came on a rainy day and didnt mind waiting. The chowder , lobster, crab and fish cakes were all great. Service was spot on and we were very happy when we left. Full too.
nice restaurant. near waterfront pei . Parking: pay parking lot near... outside patio. antique place Food : 4/5 | Service
Loved the atmosphere, so many cool things to look at. It s a small area but worth it. The service was good. The food was phenomenal. I had the crab dinner and my friends had clams and chips. Both great and we d definitely go back if given the chance.
If youre looking for some good seafood, this is the spot! Staff was very friendly and quick with your order. The walls are full of celebrities that have eaten there along with neat stuff. Definitely stop in here
The workers were very bright and funny. the lobster roll was one of the best out of the few I tried. it lives up to the name of number 1 best in Charlotte Town. the fish and chips was nicely fried and the fries could be less burnt but great flavour
Honestly some of the best seafood we had on the island (and we ate seafood twice a day for five days) - dont skip the lobster roll!
Great food and really lovely server! Quite uncomfortable seating outdoors on the picnic tables though. Vegetarian options: Very limited Kid-friendliness: Server was super friendly and helpful to our young one
I found this place on Google maps, and visited it on our Canada Road trip. It is not the fanciest looking place, which was what attracted me to it. We had a bit of a wait, since it was close to lunchtime and they were swamped. But our server twice informed us of progress towards sitting.( a HUGE customer service PLUS)and it was not a long wait, Finally got to sit and order, I had scallops appetizer, and a lobster roll, husband fish and chips. ( both excellent).Couldnt be better, on a sunny day, outside on the Charlottetown waterfront.. I would highly recommend this place, it has been around for a long time and I hope it stays around.
Overrated, chowder mediocre, overpriced.
Wow! The fish and chips were excellent and above all good quality.
good food good service.....just good Parking: hard to find Food : 5/5 |
The food was good but the older lady at the desk was rude !! And she then tried to seat multiple people at our table without asking us, if we would like to share, and myself with anxiety issues wasnt ok with this. Not sure if shes is the owner but shame on her rudness !!
I had my lobster craving fixed and it was great. Love the way they precut the lobster shell. I dont know what the ambiance inside was like, but outside was a little too breezy. I also chose the mussels for a side plate
Super friendly staff for the award winning lobster roll. Mussels were fresh. Fish and chips are pretty good. Usually potato salad is iffy but this place had good potato salad. The potato was diced in small cubes, level of mayo and seasoning was executed nicely.
My 2nd visit and loved it as much as the first time! Lobster rolls are amazing! I wish I had room for the coconut cream pie (my favourite!) so will have to make a trip back just for that
One of my favourites in PEI
Good food.
Lobster was okay and oyester burger was less than okay. Good location though!!
Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend
Fresh local food with an authentic feel. 10/10
A super popular store in Charlottetown. I think fried food is a bit greasy. When its crowded, it takes a while for the food to come out. Be careful before going to the theater.
We were 10mins late for our reservation and were told we COULD NOT have lobster for dinner because we were too late. However, customers that arrive after us were served full lobster meals. We specifically came here so our family could have the lobster. My husband and I had been here a few years ago and wanted our kids and grandchildren to have the same great experience. Servers were initially quite rude and kept telling us we would have to leave our table promptly so their next group could get in. We easily finished up with plenty of extra time. Very sad that this was a poor experience for my family. Will not be back. The rating is based on the attitude of the servers and not being allowed to order lobster. Will work on finding another place for lobster.
Delicious and fresh. Mouthwatering.
On my quest for the best fish and chips as well the best clams n fries. My wife and I dropped into the Water Prince Corner Shop with family to try their Seafoods. First of the customer service was very good friendly and comical. The atmosphere is very neat with license plates from all over the world to and photos of famous musicians and actors. So was the Water Prince the best fish n chips? I would have to say no unfortunately, was it good yes it was good but not a contender for the best. The Clams on the other hand we very good. Do they get the title of best Clams? Well during my visit to the Maritimes I can see yes to them having the best that Ive tried. Is there better? Very well could be for sure but I didnt find them lol. I highly recommend the clams and fries. The fish is breaded not batter that throw me for loop. Coleslaw was nice and creamy. Parking: During the busy summer months parking is likely some what challenging.
I went to this restaurant a while ago so please take this with a grain of salt because maybe they ve changed. Not the best atmosphere/service for people of colour based on my experience there. Servers at the time were curt and served other tables that arrived after us while we waited a long time for our food (which were lobster rolls so shouldn t take so long to make).
Delicious, the seafood chowder and lobster were truly great.
When you walk into this gem of a restaurant, youre welcomed by friendly faces. Youre eye is drawn to all the whimsical art on the walls and a cozy atmosphere. But the food? Highest level of freshness. From the oysters to the lobster. And yes! They package seafood for travel as well! Just brilliant!
Great food but the parking is not easy and if you are late for reservations the staff will remind you repeatedly. Leave early to avoid missing out on food options!
Tried lobster roll, a little disappointed with the taste, no surprise with the roll and the potato salad.
We had mussles, lobster, scallops and local drinks. The food tasted fresh and yum. Not a fan of scallops though, could be a personal preference. Local light bear was quiet refreshing. Parking: Mostly street parking and a few parking close to the restaurant
The fish & chips were excellent, a small, unpretentious restaurant, a good place in Charlottetown.
Lobster Roll was wonderful.
Absolutely delicious, the waiter is fantastic!
I love the water, prince, and I ve eaten here many times, the service is always excellent. The women are just so friendly & efficient . However the last time I visited I had a male waiter whom was so obnoxious, annoying, thought he was funny, but actually he wad rude. At one point we sat with our dirty plates for a little too long, he passed her table and informed us he was going on a smoke break. Not sure if he thinks he s performing at a Live cabaret ? When I go back to the water prince, I will definitely ensure that if he is working, I do not want him as a server he absolutely ruined our experience
Loved the food staff was awesome prices were very fair and love the atosphere def be back and portions were good as well.
Very funny waiter Delicious lobster Good-natured restaurant
Very cool place to enjoy delicious seafood and sit in the same seat as so many legendary celebrities
The reserve seating was full and they seat outside communal style, but did not take too long. The lobster dinner tails were a but tough, but the claws were ok. Maybe cooked a bit too long?
Our food and server were amazing! Best lobster Ive had. There was a bit of a wait but it was well worth it.
Our lobsters were way overcooked, waitress never brought my beer, and crab was more expensive than anywhere else in PEI by $20. Wont be going back. Only giving two stars because my father loved his salmon - the other 3 meals were not good at all.
Delicious seafood.
Very good meal, very well served. Lobster Classic and effective!
I recently visited here with high expectations, especially for their famous lobster roll. Unfortunately, I was left deeply disappointed. It seems that due to inflation or other factors, the amount of lobster in the lobster roll has significantly decreased compared to the enticing photos shared by previous customers. What was once a generously filled roll is now a skimpy version of its former self, with far less lobster meat than advertised. This change in portion size was quite disheartening, especially considering the high price tag that remains unchanged. I had hoped for a premium experience but instead felt shortchanged. I understand that times are tough, but the stark difference in the product s quality and quantity is unacceptable. I hope the restaurant takes customer feedback seriously and addresses this issue, as it mars the overall dining experience.
We had a lunch reservations but weren t allowed to keep our little dog with us on the patio on a leash. That was really weird, never had the happen anywhere. Waitress was super nice and apologized. We ended up packing the food and had it in a park across the road. Food was excellent, especially the fish cakes and lobster roll. Fries were soggy and sad.
This was recommended by the parking attendant as the best spot to get lobster or crab, they were absolutely spot on. The service was great as well.
First time having a lobster roll, honestly blown away. Great service and food
Absolutely amazing. Lobster roll is worthy of its reputation, from the bun to the lobster, 10/10! Seafood chowder was another 10, along with biscuit. To cap off an amazing dinner, the coconut cream pie is on another level, 11/10!
While I was staying in Charlottetown, my family went there every day. You will enjoy the food and their warm hospitality.
The oysters, chowder and biscuit were really good and fresh. Halibut were dry and fried surface was beige instead of brown. Vegetables was just boiled carrots. The baked potatoes were undercooked. Last but not least, we were charged beer price for ginger ale in our bill. Food : 3/5
Awesome lobster rolls, the best one we had in our PEI & Nova Scotia trip. Would definitely come back when we visit PEI again
The food, service and evrything was excellent. Impressed by the welcoming eagerness of the waitress Fiona was heartwarming. Loved it, a should-go place in Charlottetown
Good portions, excellent tasting seafood, although it was busy our 4 person meal didnt take too long tobring out. The gentlemen servicing us was very attentive. Highly recomme ded
Did not disappoint - worth the hype imo
Our server was great. The scallop burger was delicious.
The lobster roll was worth it. Our waiter was amazing (provided all the things the kids needed without us having to ask, and had a great sense of humour ). We even saw a live blue lobster! Amazing place, don t miss out.
Had seen many diners at this restaurant , thought it must be an upscale place , was I disappointed , had to be the worst restaurant I ate at in Charlottetown . One thing I shall mention , the fried clams were so dry and just pieces of what was left over at the bottom of the pot , I know clams, I am a Maritimer , worst I have ever eaten . Don t waste your money here . They should be closed down , giving Charlottetown a bad name.
Good but simple. Good value for money.
Great service, great food, great spot. Conveniently located near the pier and tour depot. Worth stopping in for the best lobster roll of my life! I wish I was hungry enough to order the chowder too because it was highly recommended by another patron.
Amazing seafood! The lobster roll had huge chunks of lobster meat. The clam steamers were also really meaty and delicious. Great experience. Highly recommend.
Coconut cream pie was to die for. OMG!!
Best seafood in town!
We enjoyed our experience, very attentive staff despite our difficulties with the English language. Clean place with nice atmosphere. For an average-cost dinner, we recommend it
Really good food - I had the lobster roll and it was awesome. My partner liked the fish and chips a lot. Super nice staff, the cook even came out to ask how my meal was. Good people and good food.
Must visit in PEI! Great food and friendly people
All I can say is WOW!!! Just arrived in Charlottetown this afternoon and was looking for a place for an early dinner. Stumbled across this neighborhood gem on our way to the hotel. First off, reservations are a must! It s a busy place and if you don t have resos, you will be disappointed. Thankfully I made sure to do this!! Let s start with the staff!!! Sooooo friendly and just all around fun! I wish I got our server s name but he was hilarious and charismatic! Totally made the experience even better than expected!! Love love love his energy and wit! Let s move on to the food. Sweet Jesus was our meal incredible or what?!?!? I m a serious foodie and this place did not disappoint! We started off with the seafood chowder and then had the lobster roll. Truthfully the entire menu looked awesome and it was so hard to pick. Ended our delicious meal with a lemon square that is to DIE for! So what are you waiting for?? If you re in town, don t walk RUN to Water Prince corner shop! I promise that your taste buds and your tummy will thank you! We will definitely be back before we go home!
This never fails to be an excellent lunch/dinner. The lobster roll is perfection:)
Without saying the lobster and the seafood chowder, are to die for! If you are visiting PEI, You need to visit Water Prince Corner Shop for the best lobster experience. Todd is an amazing server and advocate for the restaurant. Lobster is perfectly cooked, and prepared So any inexperienced lobster lover Ken easily enjoy what is served. Please make reservations!!!! You will not access this restaurant without one in the summer.
Best lobster dinner!! tried the blue mussels for the first time and it completely changed my view of mussels. These just melts in your mouth. Baked potato: PEI potatoes are the best!! never had such a fresh lobster that was cooked so perfectly! they know their stuff! Will be my going back when I visit PEI next time!!
The food was pretty normal, as I could easily get and taste in other city like Toronto and Montreal. We were hoping to taste very fresh seafood but the lobster on the lobster roll gave us a taste like it just came out from the fridge. Yes, the fresh oyster as appertizer was good but the others could be passed. The service at first was not that friendly to be honest. The waitress did not ask if we were alright to share a table with others but directly assigned us the seat. We finally got a separate smaller table because i requested and insisted not to share a table. There are other tables but bigger size and there were only two of us so I understand why she asked us to share a table with other customers. I would not mind to wait or be assigned to a smaller table but I would definitely prefer a better communication like she could ask us for permission if we minded to share a table with others. We just wanted more personal time at our own table. Right after I made the request, we could instantly see her face turned quite unfriendly and impatient. So, that meal started with an unfriendly service and subsequently the seafood was not that fresh as we expected. At first, we were struggled between this restaurant and another restaurant. After trying the food, we felt that we should have given another restaurant a try instead. Quite disappointing and felt the hundred dollars meal was not worth it. However, I should mention that the service after we were assigned a small table was very great and kind.
Outstanding!! Great food, incredible service, terrific prices
Great tasting and fresh seafood. Ambiance extremely nice. Friendly staff
Excellent fish cake lunch. Good service and homey atmosphere.
Came here for supper with my folks last week visiting from Labrador! My dad and I tried the haddock and chips which was excellent- my mother had the clams and fries which she also really enjoyed! Seafood chowder as a starter was also great! Would recommend for sure!
Food is good.....very expensive.....
Great place. Cool atmosphere. Great food. Just don t sit by the door on even a mildly cool day. Our whole group got cold as it felt like we were in a wind tunnel. Fortunately they brought us blankets to help keep us warm.
Prices are market, there is quite a line-up (for a reason!). Must try the chowder A++
We were so happy with our lunch we made reservations for dinner. We both had lobster rolls for lunch. Amazing! We both had lobster dinners for dinner. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. This is a do not miss in PEI.
Great value meal
Ok, Wasnt particularly bad just much better options in Charlottetown.
Though expensive the lobster roll $27.99 was indeed very good. Even the bread that held the cold lobster was delicious too. The scallop dish at almost $36 was not as good, kind of overcooked some and pricey for the sizes.
Fun little restaurant with staff that know how to make you feel welcome! The food was cooked perfectly and served up hot and quick I had the Scallop dinner and my husband had the pan seared Halibut dinner both were melt in your mouth delicious! Food : 5/5
Great place to grab a quick bite. Lovely lobster roll. The bread was amazing.
Not cheap but absolutely delicious. Best lobster roll I have had in PEI or NS and NB for that matter. Toasted buttery bread, lots of fresh juicy lobster. Potato salad was very nice, kids had fresh cut fries. Worth it. Got two 2 lb cooked lobsters to go and they packed them for the drive in a styrofoam cooler with a cold pack. We ate them the next evening and they were full of meat and excellent. PEI lobster tastes better than Halifax lobster - super fresh and almost a little sweeter. Maybe a happier life on the coast of PEI
Great food and good prices. Staff were really friendly
Visited from Moncton with a friend of mine looking for a snow crab. We asked a local and they recommended us here. So here I am recommending it to you. The service was amazing and the food was perfect. Killer fish n chips. Ill definitely stop by next time around.
I came here not once, but TWICE during my trip because the food was THAT good! The lobster dinner is definitely what you need to come here for, it was so fresh and buttery! Plus the mussels were the best I ve ever had in my life. Everything was so fresh, if I could recommend 1 spot to visit in PEI, it would be this one!
Service was amazing sat down and told us what s good. Food was even better they have lots of local food 10/10 would recommend
We had the seafood chowder and it was amazing! We paid $105 for 4 plates and 1 drink with taxes and tips. Food
Stopped for a lunch while visiting Charlottetown. We had fish cakes, mussels, and fish & chips. All were incredibly fresh and well seasoned. Tartar sauce was a differentiating factor - so many times they re old and out a bottle, and this felt prepared on the spot. Service was warm and friendly, feels like a neighbourhood spot for food. Stop in!
The lobster roll tasted great, the shellfish was a bit gritty.
Some of the best seafood Ive ever had. The malpeque oysters are delicious.
Smalltown restaurant feel...food is always fantastic.
Seems too busy , we could not go as they didnt gave reservations
What an awesome experience!! Hilarious waiter, great food and cool vibe! The waiters humour took it over the top for the best experience! Hey Calgary!!!
The lobster roll and the fish & chips may be the best in town. Great atmosphere and service as well.
Wonderful food
One of the best restaurant experiences I ve had! The seafood platter was delicious and customer service was top-notch.
The Norwegian joy cruise docked here and we walked the town. Even though I had already had lunch, I still ordered a Lobster shrimp and it was really delicious, sweet and fresh. Hope to come back
Clean lobster roll with tons of lobster, not a ton of mayo. Big chunks of tail meat in the roll as well. Kid-friendliness: Accommodating staff for children. Got us a great seat in the shade.
Great lobster roll and super friendly staff. Had a great meal today
Great atmosphere, great service, and great value for your money.
This is a really cute restaurant and the food was great. Reservations are a must, the place was packed the first time we tried and a reservation tlfor the next night wasnt too hard to secure. The lobster dinner is a must have, so fresh.
Welcoming and warm, its lovely to sit streetside and people-watch while eating the fantastic food here!
Extremely accommodating and happy to make space for us as we were just walking in at a busy time. Very friendly staff, eager to assist with anything. Although, we only had time for the chowder, it was delicious with large lobster pieces and amazing tea biscuits. We will certainly return and recommend to all our friends. Parking: Easy parking down by the water across from the visitor centre, $5 for the entire day.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and super service
Delicious fish and seafood, friendly service, great waterside pub vibe:) whats not to like! Vegetarian options: Salad and fries are a great meat free option.
The best lobster roll in PEI.
Phenomenal lobster rolls. Probably the best in the Maritimes. Great service and patio. Bar clams are a hit as well.
Lobster roll to die for.
This is a must stop, dont walk away from this place, everything about this place was perfect!
Recently this week i went with my familly at night i ordered a british fish and chips hadlock fish , onions rings, lobster rolls, iced tea
What wonderful experience. Staff were gracious and food top notch... Dont let the line up stop you. There us a reason they are so busy!!
We just had to try a lobster roll before we left the Maritimes and it did not disappoint at all the bun was toasted so nicely and melted in your mouth and there was enough lobster with just a touch of mayo so good!!! Yummy!
We were visiting from Ontario and tried to go to this place for 3 nights in a row. It was always full as it is not a huge place. We ended up going for lunch at 2 p.m. on our last day, and it was fairly empty. The food is very, very good. The staff was really nice as well. I am so glad we got to go here as it was the best food we had all week.
This restaurant came highly recommended from a local. It is a small, cozy, quaint place with lots of seafood choices. The wait staff was super good and friendly. The down side is that the two of our party of four that had seafood was hit with severe intestinal distress after. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free menu available
Wholesome food in an authentic place. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options Kid-friendliness: The outdoor picnic tables are excellent for entertaining the under-6 crowd but just as fine for a grown up good time.
Phil and Liv were a lovely duo to have serving us! Would come back just to see these friendly two, ontop of the delicious food!
Great food and great service, absolutely worth it!
As two cruise ships were in the port, they were very busy. I had a lobster roll, and it was delicious.
Great place to get lobster at a reasonable price.
Ok
Absolutely loved this place during my trip! Went back several times. The staff is great and everything was delicious, the lobster roll, oysters, the Ruben pie with an extra scoop of ice cream :) you name it ! It can get busy in the evenings at peak hours but I made sure call in advance.
Amazing lobster and service! You can order lobster with mussels or chowder as an app and choose the weight of your cooked to order lobster.
Delicious meal, excellent customer service, and we were grateful for our friends, Paul and Kirsten, who shared their pei journey with us!
Water Prince Corner Shop is a pearl nestled in the heart of Charlottetown, just a stones throw away from the picturesque harbour. If youre visiting Charlottetown during a cruise ship day trip, be prepared to join a line, but let me assure you, the wait is absolutely worth it. One of the standout features of this place is its wide array of seafood options. Whether youre a seafood enthusiast or a casual diner, youll find something to tantalize your taste buds. Their lobster roll, a PEI favorite, is simply delicious, and the fish and chips are nothing short of wonderful. While the selection of local beers might be described as just ok, the focus here is undoubtedly on the fresh and flavourful seafood. Pair it with a local brew, and youve got a winning combination. What truly sets Water Prince Corner Shop apart is its cherry and upbeat service. The staff goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome, adding to the overall delightful dining experience. If you find yourself in Charlottetown and craving some top-notch seafood, make your way to Water Prince Corner Shop. Its proximity to the harbor, mouthwatering dishes, and fantastic service make it a must-visit spot in PEI.
and are very fresh. Friendly. Very busy room w/ open space. Line up @ door needed. Might have some companion while digging.
Came recommended by several local sources.
I cant believe the friendly staff and the amount of food we got. Its such a cozy place and an amazing service.
Lobster rolls are delicious! Can be busy when cruise ships arrive.
Disclaimer: this review is not on the quality of the food, as we were never served despite sitting here for 15 minutes. At the end we just left because we couldn t get any service. The place wasn t even that busy so I have no idea why the service was as bad as it was but left a very bitter taste in our hungry mouths.
The staff are very helpful and informative about the lobster I ordered and how the shipping works or if I wanted to take it with me, they package it for me to take n the plane.
Small place so easy to miss this gem of a restaurant! The service was great and entertaining, the food was delicious. We had the lobster roll and fish n chips! We were so glad we stopped here to get a little taste of the sea and old Charlottetown. Food
The lobster roll here really hits the spot. The bread especially is so well toasted and buttery. The lobster roll tasted divine! The potato salad had egg in it and was so tasty. Recommended dishes
Our server he was amazing! I d go back to eat the food!
Seafood chowder has too much flour, not too much seafood in it, the lobster meat in the lobster roll is from frozen one. Not as good as the ones we had in Saint John and Nova Scotia.
awesome awesome simply awesome
We came with a cruise and there was line up outside the restaurant. Food and services are good, we set at outside and close to the road but that was fine. We had cream chowder, lobstervrolls and fried oyster. Actually should eat the oyster raw instead. Worth to recommend this place to friends.
Great food, staff and ambience
Delicious lobster and seafood chowder. Excellent service
Best Lobster Roll in PEI! I love the charming atmosphere here. Service was wonderful. We did order takeout. Food was amazing! We ll be back on our next trip in.
The server was really friendly. The hallibut fish and chips was really tasty!
The lobster roll was great but a bit pricey.
Great fish & chips. Have the coconut pie. It is the best I ve ever tasted.
Just awesome! Fresh and delicious seafood chowder and biscuits. Loved, loved, loved it!
Amazing experience
Spent 4 days in Charlottetown and ate here 3 times! Feasted on the steamed clams, mussels and lobster. Delicious fresh seafood done right and served by friendly and engaging staff.
Go here. Eat, be happy.
Best lobster roll ever.
Very convenient location for some cruise travelers on a rainy day. The food was great and the staff were so much fun.
The absolute best lobster roll.
Excellent tasting food. Friendly helpful owners and staff. Lots of repeat customers, including us, are a testament to how much we enjoyed the food.
It was my first time I tried the lobster and mein it was amazing!!!
We were excited to finally get a taste of an east coast lobster roll, but feel we fell into a tourist trap. The lobster was bland, roll was dry, potato salad was flavourless. We paid close to $100 for 2 rolls and a kids meal, which is insane given the size and quality of food we received. We re super disappointed.
Visiting from Montreal, Great lobster roll! Food
Wonderful last minute seafood dinner- asked if we or ok to be squeezed in t the service bar - reservation recommended - so good sized portions and delicious I personally love the rustic atmosphere but not for you if you want something fancy Parking: off season and during the week but found lots of parking close
