Gaia's Urban Eatery in Charlottetown

Im vegan. Hard tobfind vegan restaurants in pei. Of course I noticed that what I ordered said I could have an EGG or Tofu in my meal so they are not exactly VEGAN. Vegetarian perhaps. I was the only one in their restaurant today and I had limited time to spend there as I had errands to run but it took a verrrrrry long time to get my soup. Half an hour for ramen, basically. Now I know I didnt have to make it myself and good food takes time but I still think I waited quite a while. They did apologise and my soup was good. Would I have it again? No. But if I wasnt pressed for time, there are a few other things on their menu Id like to try. I wont have the opportunity to be back in town for a while now though so.....itll be Summer perhaps when I go back.

I came to Gaia s because I wanted a nice place for vegan desserts. the desserts were meh. Not great, not horrible. I had the vegan brownie tiramisu and it tasted like 2 cups of whipped cream on top of coffee soaked cookies. However, atmosphere was beautiful and done up really well :)

The ambience is bright, the service is always friendly, the portions are generous, and the food is tasty. We had the Choco-nut smoothie, the Bimbambap ( with brown rice substituted) and the Cajun Jambalaya. All very good. I Didnt have room for the monster brownie, so I took one home for later :-)

Had a really wonderful lunch at Gaias - I had the 2.0 burger, a smoothie, and the vegan tiramisu and they had the poutine and a rose lemonade, and all of it was genuinely fantastic - particularly the tiramisu which Im still thinking about hours later, easily the best Ive ever had honestly. They are very careful for celiac / gluten free items and the whole menu is vegetarian with most being available vegan, and theres a wide variety of types of cuisine on the menu, with the employees all being really knowledgeable about everything, and really friendly too! Essential eating for anyone in Charlottetown and especially those of us who have trouble finding options away from home :) Vegetarian options: Every item on the menu is vegetarian Dietary restrictions: A large percentage of menu options are able to be made gluten free and theyre celiac aware, and most food can be made vegan too. Offers three types of nondairy milk - almond, coconut, and oat Parking: Could get busy at peak times, but parking in alleyways nearby was almost empty around 4:30 pm. All street parking right downtown but theres plenty of it, and the downtown is very walkable.

Simply the best vegetarian/ vegan restaurant in Charlottetown. Gaias offers a diverse menu, excellent quality ingredients, perfectly prepared and seasoned. Vegetarian options: Entire menu is vegetarian. So many choices! Kid-friendliness: Many healthy options for kids. They will love the pizza, pasta and smoothies.

The worst quality food Ive had in a very long time. I am very dissappointed that I wasted my time eating here. The falafel was garbage and the cauliflower bam bam was the greasiest. 0 stars would be more appropriate.

First, as you enter, you notice that the place is welcoming and clean with a very friendly staff. We were there for lunch and we absolutely loved every single thing we ordered. Their Ramen and Bibimbap are delicious, not to mention their mediterranean flatbread and cheese rolls. We also had the best falafel one can ask for, super delicious, crunchy and authentic, Kudos to the chef!

Amazing food! All the dishes were really tasty and the portion size was also good for the price. I had a wonderful experience having lunch with my family here. Recommend their veggie stir fry bowl, tiramisu, penne pasta bowl, vegan poutine, vegan pizza. Appreciate the fact that they have opened such an amazing vegan place at a small city like Charlottetown in PEI. Would really appreciate if you open some of your branches around Atlantic Canada, specifically in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Fantastic! The best meal I have had at a restaurant in recent memory bar none! The atmosphere is open, fresh, and clean. The service was helpful, professional, and very friendly. The menu was varied, with ample options, and all looked very tasty...a difficult decision. We waited a bit for our meal and that reassured us it was being made for us. The result was a hot, delicious lunch made with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend whether vegan or not!! Will return!

Definitely the best tofu ramen I have tasted in my life. So rich and flavorful in its mushroom broth. It was worth the 20 minute wait.

Clean, delicious, and welcoming! The chef was nice enough to let me try the sauces before I ordered, and even gave us cookies at the end of the night! The menu has lots of great options and is sure to please even non-vegans/vegetarians! We will definitely be back!

Prices are ridiculous. $5 for 25 ml of ice tea. Pita was stale. Customer service. Was worse.

Great food! Lots of options! Theyre a smaller kitchen, so they got a bit behind on the lunch rush and there wasnt AC. It got quite humid in there, but the staff mustve been sweating bullets in that hot kitchen and remained friendly, professional, and hardworking. Kid-friendliness: The family next to us had two kids who seemed happy with their veggie hot dogs.

Very flavorful and tasty food. We ordered ramen (x2), bibimbap, and Mexican bowl and they were all very excellent. They serve eggs. I would definitely come back, although the wait time for food was pretty significant. I see that they have a lot of takeout orders that get prioritized in the same queue as the dine-in orders. Also, there doesnt seem to be any table service, in case that matters to you.

The best vegan restaurant on PEI, one of the few places to eat at if you want healthy. Environmentally conscious. Vegetarian options: Vegan. I have eaten at Gaja s restaurant twice now and the food both times was prepared quickly, was absolutely amazing and served with a smile The Chef owner has a very special knack of preparing a very healthy vegetarian meal and making it explode with layers of flavours. No small feat!

We went to this little shop looking for vegetarian and found it was good, tasty, and fresh. Girl on the counter was very professional and pleasant. If I am back in this town in future, I will sure visit again. We tried fries, cheese rolls, barley soup, and chicken (look alike) sandwich.

It was a special lunch on a special day. The food was great. Very fresh and portions were plentiful. A great value. The staff noticed I had a flower for my partner and did something special for her as well. Took a really good meal and made it great. We will be back for sure. Vegetarian options: It is a great spot for folks who do not eat meat or are looking for a fresh meal. All the veggies we were served were fresh and there were lots of them. Dietary restrictions: We informed them of some of our restrictions and the adapted the meals for us without any hesitation. Really appreciated.

Okay I have been vegan for a little over 2 years now and have been on the hunt ever since for the best vegan burger and I have finally found it! I ordered the loaded vegan burger and it was the best one I have ever tasted. I am from NB and have been to Montreal and NS and even the USA last year on vacation and have never tasted something so good as I did today. The flavours, the sauce, the crunch, the bun was amazing and the caramelized onions on top were sooooo good! We also had their spinach artichoke hummus and oh my soul it was so good! So flavourful and creamy! The girl at the cash added some olive oil on top and it was perfection! We are staying here for 2 more days and we will be sure to come back! The owner and staff are so welcoming and amazing customer service! This place will not disappoint wether you are vegan or not!

Really good hot foods- like their vegan poutine, a bit pricey but good for a once in a while treat. I would not recommend the to-go refrigerated things like their salad as it does not taste very good. Staff are very nice though and good to see more vegan/vegetarian options in PEI.

As a vegetarian and Islander I cant explain how nice it is to be able to order such a variety of options while.most restaurants offer only a veggie burger. The service is always friendly, and the meals are always of the highest quality. I hope to see Gaia around for years to come as it will stay a regular spot for me.

Delicious vegan food

I loved the cauliflower-steak bowl.

The two stars are because the actual drinks we got were good. But the service was awful. The two girls working the day of the pride parade were very slow. We ordered two smoothies. The first one took a while to make and when it was done, the person making it stopped to use a spatula and scrape the rest of the contents into a cup for herself and brought it to the back room before handing us our smoothie. Then she said for us to have a seat while she made the second. We explained that we were getting them to go so we didn t need to take a table. She said okay and started working on the second smoothie. The other girl came up to us and asked us to go sit down and wait. We again said we were okay to stand at the counter and wait. She replied can you just and shewed us away with her hand. Her and the other girl looked at each other and laughed. We took a step back from the counter and then they finished the smoothie and gave it to us. Definitely will not be returning.

this summer while visiting PEI, i was so happy to find a restaurant with so many great vegan options, as a lactose free vegetarian. even other members of my family who aren t vegetarian ordered food from here and loved it! i ordered the dragon bowl and it was absolutely delicious. their tofu is very well cooked, and their homemade kimchi is super flavourful. the only issues i had where that my avocado was very hard, to the point of not eating it, but compared with how delicious the rest of the whole bowl was i am not complaining, and that their was quite a wait time. i did not mind that much, i just wish they had advised us it would be a 20 minute wait when we ordered so i could come back, because we ordered it to go. but all together this place is great, and next time i am in PEI i will sure to come back!

A nice find in the heart of Charlottetowns downtown. Excellent choices, reasonable prices, clean and warm decor. Had a nice chat with the delightful owner who has been providing vegan and vegetarian food to customers in various settings for many years. Really worth a visit.

Great food the first time we came but this time my girlfriend was very disappointed in what she got. The flaming veggie sandwich was overpriced and not very flavourful. Seemed weird to put sautéed veggies on a bun too when it was supposed to be a sandwich. Kinda fell apart too. The burger was amazing though! Also I think you guys should turn into a fully vegan restaurant, be the first on the province! Your vegan cheese is delicious, no need to serve the unethical stuff :)

Upside its a great place to eat and the employees are so nice. Down side is when theyre busy, they turn off their delivery for skipthedishes and doordash apps. Good to hear they are doing well though :) I Highly recommend this restaurant as the food is delicious, healthy and looks fantastic ; theres some gluten free options available as well . (poutine is deadly)

While on an east coast cruise we stopped in Charlottetown & I was craving something sweet. We discovered Gaia s by chance and we re so pleased. Located on Queen Street the place is really bright & light with a dessert counter in front of the kitchen. We opted for their chocolate cake & a chocolate chip cookie & it was delicious. The perfect vegan snack.

The food was amazing! I dont recommend the cheesecake though. I think it might just be a small piece of daiya cheezecake or some other store bought kind. So it ends up being more expensive to buy one peice from here. Id rather just buy the whole cake from a store to save on money.

Ate there for the first time and loved it. So many choices even for vegans. I had the vegetable stir fry which was amazing and had a bite of my friends pulled mushroom sandwich which was out of this world (will be ordering that next time!). Also tried the vegan cheese cake and homemade lemonade - both were delicious. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Great ambiance. Will return often and would highly recommend!

Ive been to Gaias many times and they never disappoint! The Pulled BBQ Mushroom Sandwich is my favourite, the flavour and aroma is amazing! The Vegetarian Stir Fry (which is actually vegan) is a close second though. Another great thing at Gaias is that other than the Ramen bowl (which is dishwasher and microwave safe, and reusable), absolutely every single other piece of packaging, utensils, cups, etc is 100% compostable!! Whether youre vegan, vegetarian, or just hungry, do yourself a favour and head to Gaias for a meal.

Exceptional! We are vacationing in PEI from Toronto and was looking for a vegetarian/ vegan place to eat. Gaia s was highly recommended on Reddit so we checked it out. Staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful when our toddlers spilt water all over the table. Food was perfect. Super fresh, super hot and super tasty. We wanted to try everything so we ordered extra and took what we couldn t finish back to the AirBnB for a late snack. We already know we have to go back to try what we couldn t the first time. Whether you are a vegetarian / vegan / carnivore or omnivore; this is an amazing place to get great quality food and super friendly service.

My family ate at Gaias in August 2021. What a nice place! The food is amazing - wonderful flavors, reasonably priced, and served in nicely presented containers or plates. The place is very clean and tastefully decorated. The chef is super friendly! The day we were there was super hot and we did not have a place where to leave our miniature dog. We kind of snuck her with us, hopefully, the staff would not make ask us to leave. The chef brought us water for the dog that we were trying to hide:). We wish we had this restaurant where we live. We usually do not eat only vegetarian food, but this place changed our mind about how diverse and tasty it can be. Highly recommend it!
