Amazing food, magnificent burger

A discovery on my way while going for a walk on Saint-Bernard Island. Small cute bistro surrounded by nature. The courteous and welcoming staff: they are all young people! Homemade chips yum. Choice of wines by the glass. I had a salmon tartare, generous portion, good but without counting a 5*. Good price! THANKS

During my first experience at this place to celebrate the birthdays of my husband and our friend, despite the attentive service of the waiter, and the warm atmosphere at the end of the day, my onion soup au gratin arrived lukewarm, even cold ...I didnt return it out of politeness, but I didnt eat it. The salmon in our friends grilled salmon Caesar salad was undercooked, and far from grilled... We spoke about it to our waiter, who to compensate offered the two birthday people a piece of cake with a candle, which was appreciated!

Excellent welcome, menu varies with a section for vegetarians! For my part, my Bavette was excellent and the lime tart was just perfect!

We had dinner outside under the tent. The black chairs were really dirty (marks left on clothes). There were hundreds of spiders on the ceiling and walls. Some guests have had spiders on their clothes or skin. The service was very slow, 30 minutes before you could ask for a drink. We really waited a long time, perhaps because we were in a group, but the order for the dishes was made 75 minutes after the arrival of the last guests. The meal was late (the sun had set and there was no light). We only saw the dishes with the lights of our phones. The waiter said we should talk to management about it but did nothing. The food was OK based on the prices which are not very high, cold dishes and not very tasty, a bit like what you find in North American chains. As night fell, there were many biting insects that bothered the group members. We left quickly without coffee or dessert. I really dont recommend this place. Go somewhere else.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bistro La Traite in Châteauguay, and I am delighted to share my experience. This restaurant offers a truly great ambiance: the atmosphere is both friendly and elegant, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed evening. The restaurant is impeccable in terms of cleanliness, which is always a good point. The service also meets expectations: the staff is attentive, courteous and very efficient, making the dining experience even more pleasant. As for the food, I have to say that the majority of the choices were delicious. The onion soup, in particular, was excellent rich in flavor and perfectly balanced. The other dishes I tasted were also very good, highlighting tasty and well-prepared cuisine. However, there was a small downside: the salmon tartare. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. It lacked seasoning which made the taste quite bland. In addition, the cutting was poorly done, with large pieces that were difficult to eat and not very pleasant in the mouth. My friend Denis-Dany insisted that I share my opinion in order to help those who are hesitant to choose their dish. I wholeheartedly recommend Bistro La Traite for its many highlights, but I would suggest passing on the salmon tartare for now. In summary, Bistro La Traite is an excellent address in Châteauguay for a pleasant evening with a large part of the menu to discover. Don t hesitate to try their other tasty dishes and enjoy the warm welcome!

A little hidden treasure, the local meals are delicious and plentiful with good accompaniments and the bistro has several quality craft beers as well as several good wines and your final bill is decent. Parking: Lots of space

I often go to Saint-Bernard Island but I have never been to the bistro. Today, with colleagues, we went there to spend time together, we came across an unpleasant waiter, contemptuous and not listening, he looked at us with disdain, he let the menu out of our hands unlike the others customers, its as if we had disturbed him in a few things. On the other hand, there was a very kind and smiling waitress who filled our glasses and partly saved our time at the bistro. The food was good and generous. Im not going to jump to a hasty conclusion by saying that I wont go back there, on the contrary, I would like to go back to see if its like that all the time.

What a lovely evening last night on the front patio. The sun, the birds, the great service and the wonderful food. We had been there before but last night beat the previous times by far.

I chose a salmon burger. It comes with homemade chips (very good and not greasy), a small curly salad garnished with a little sauce. Excellent meal. Excellent service. There werent many people so it was a relaxed atmosphere for December 30th, perfect for a romantic dinner.

I have just returned from an excellent dinner with my lover for the first time at this bistro and not the last...great discovery...the burgers are excellent...what can I say about Audreys excellent service...I recommend this place!

Little disappointed, I have been here many times in the past and always loved it. Today I had the osso bucco, the potatoes were not cooked at all, and the food was tasteless. My husband had the trout,dry and tasteless once you took the thickly layered sauce off of it. The salmon tar tar was just ok. I always give this place 5 stars, not sure what happened today.

Im trying to book online... doesnt work... I call, the lady puts me on the answering machine to leave a message... I ask that we call back to book... 1 month has passed... no news... .Another Money-Pit paid for by our taxes...And this is not the first time...So close this instead of swallowing up money......

Beautiful terrace at the back. We saw a large marmot walking around the orchard and the waitress told us about all the animals they see regularly. Prices are very reasonable, good value for money. My red sangria was also delicious and larger than other places. I had a burger and everything on the plate was divine. The homemade chips would benefit from a little more seasoning though and my friend had a little too much dressing on her salad. The beef is hormone-free and grass-fed, I love it! For a little dinner after a long walk in Marguerite-dYouville Park, it was perfect.

Its a pleasant place in summer if youre looking for a nice terrace in nature. Its a well-kept secret and is a perfect destination for a romantic evening or with friends. This kind of place is rather rare in the region. The food wont win any gastronomy awards (the usual tartare, the usual burger...), but its nevertheless quite decent. The staff is very kind and attentive.

The place is very nice and peacefull. The food was delicious and the portions were actually massive. We tried the poke bowl, the burger Youville, Penne Tara and Nachos. All delicious. The service was good but not great. The food didnt arrive all at the same time. Picking up the plates after needed to be cued. But everyone was nice. Nice place.

Phew what a change! Really tiny tartar starters now, very small portions, no more side salads, 3 very hard small croutons and price increase! We go back? No! And you were regular customers, really disappointed!!

I come 2-4 times a year and always the environment and the food are excellent.

Rather left to ourselves at reception, impressive quantity of cobwebs under the terrace chairs and tables, unfriendly service, low quality ingredients for 4 of the 5 dishes ordered (the burger was good), minimal lighting to access the toilets, neglected maintenance/cleaning. What saved our meal was our family energy and the view of the orchard

A very nice place for a dinner with friends on the terrace in a peaceful, rural setting. I ordered a burger which was as generous as it was delicious. I dont know if the accompanying chips were homemade or not, but they were original and delicious! All followed by a delicious dessert and an excellent cappuccino, served with a smile. I recommend!

Première visite pour moi au bistro hier soir. Le service semblait désorganisé un peu mais nous étions un bon groupe cest peut-être la raison. Par contre la bouffe était excellente, le site vraiment de toute beauté. Jétais vraiment content de retrouver au moins une bière sans alcool et de surcroît dune microbrasserie Québécoise, bravo et merci.

Smoked salmon salad was perfect fettucini with pesto and vegetables, delicious. We sat outside and had a good time.

Service was great. Choice of beers is good. Had a hamburger, was a bit dry but tasty. Wife had a chicken Cesar salad, the chicken was very dry. Notified the waitress, she only said shed let her boss know. That was the only disappointing part of it but kind of leaves me reluctant to go back.

We went to eat on December 17, 2021. We begin to bring in the plate of cheese, they give us small plates, one of which is not clean, the grapes presented to us are faded, the cooking of my beef steak is well done but I asked for medium, we had to watch the very young boy who was a busboy because he is too quick to get rid of (we hadnt finished eating) but I must mention that he was not carried by any member of the team who should have passed on to him the necessary know-how and at the end we ask for a takeaway dish in French and English from the very young bussboy for the plate not to consume instead he threw the plate away. Again this is due to his lack of experience and especially the lack of support that should be given to him.

The service has always been long at Bistro La Traite, but this was unheard of! 20 minutes before getting the menu, 30 minutes more to get our drinks. The fried squid starter was not edible (very rubbery) and the waitress clearly didnt want to be there. At least we werent charged for the starter which we didnt eat and the main courses were good (salmon tartare and salmon burger).

The service is very fast and the staff really friendly. We will go back without hesitation

SUPER long service even though the place was empty, decent food, cleanliness, well come back..spider threads in the interior windows with dead bees, the bench at the entrance hasnt been cleaned since beautiful moon. The wow opaque wine glass candlestick it was my 2nd try and the last, history repeats itself disappointed

Great discovery on Saint Bernard Island in Châteauguay. What can we say about the dishes served to us... the beef tartare is very delicious and the blanche du paradis was delicious too. The service was fast and efficient! Beautiful variety of dishes such as burger, tartare, trout! And drinks menu variations. The girls up front love their jobs and seemed to help each other out! I will definitely go back!

The food is good but the service is deadly slow and terrible! You had to ask for the cutlery and the napkin. I ordered sparkling water without ice, 30 minutes later (and I had to ask for it again) they brought me a glass of still water..err a glass of ice instead! As for the dishes, I had to wait a long time (because they had groups, it seems, what an excuse!)...to have the starter and the main course at the same time .

The establishment offers a bucolic decor, a warm atmosphere in addition to more than delicious food. Unfortunately, the more than ordinary service leaves us wanting more... Long delays in getting drinks, forgetting to ask for side drinks and the ultimate inability to turn on the lights on the terrace... All in all, the experience could have been be a hundred times better. The establishment has a lot of potential but it is poorly exploited... Too bad

The service is slow and the waitress was as stupid as her feet. The food was more than ordinary. We waited over an hour and fifteen minutes with our empty plates. After 90 minutes the waitress came and asked if we wanted coffee even though the second table in our group had finished their desserts and coffees a very long time ago and my table had to wait and wait. There is no risk that I will recommend this restaurant or come back. It was so not worth it!
