Owners Ben and Angie Porter are excited to announce the re-branding of The Bistro on Main and Chatham Raw Bar to Viera on Main. Viera on Main will be offering Local Cape Cod Coastal Cuisine as well as Raw Bar offerings. We are excited to see everyone in the spring!
We went for our anniversary. The food was amazing. I was a little skeptical at first but it's so much more than it claims to be. We had amazing service, everyone was super friendly. We will definitely be back!
We were so grateful to Viera for our hosting our Rehearsal Dinner! The night was magical and that was because from the start of the process to the day of to the finish Viera truly committed themselves to ensuring we had everything we needed. I cannot say enough wonderful things about their open and direct communication, their overall professionalism, and kindness. Alfred worked with us closely to make sure the day was special and that everything ran smoothly. We also greatly appreciated his suggestion of a small appetizer and cocktail hour to help get our guests mingling and settled before we began the plated meals. It was clear they were veterans!! The atmosphere and food was superb! Our guests gushed to us about each course and we agreed! There were a wide array of options to choose from, and from the appetizers and cocktail course all the way through the dessert everything was worth writing home about! Juxtaposed with a beautiful maritime environment, including a real size ship’s wheel, we were transported, and it was an evening we know we will never forget. All in all, Viera provided us with a warm, welcoming environment, with delicious food, and we’d be delighted to work with them again. We highly recommend them because we know they will make your day as special as ours. Thank you Viera!!!
Tucked away on a little alley but accessible from Main Street and the town parking lot, Viera on Main is a place for many, seasonal outdoor dining with heaters, raw seafood bar, actually two great bars and tables with great unique menus, vegans in mind, and delicious local dishes. Shhhh. I want to keep it a secret. It's a great place to eat, have drinkies, or fabulous apps!
Neat place with great service. Plenty of parking. Mussels were good except they were extremely tiny. Seared sea scallops were a bit bland, but came with perfect lemon risotto.
We had a reservation for a family of 4. When we arrived there were quite a few empty tables, but we were seated in the bar. It was really loud and we were seated next to a very raucous party of 6 that were literally screaming. Otherwise, dinner was great and the server was very sweet. We will be back and will ask for the dining room next time.
You can try to make a reservation and are lucky if they call you back. Seating is to fill the least dis-arable tables first, so do expect a good location.. All that said the food is good and the prices reasonable for the area. I do not understand why it is necessary to remove plates before you are finished. Can it be to rush the meal for the next customer?
We enjoyed so much our dinner. Super delicious. We had tuna tartare, crab cake and cod with lemon risotto. The atmosphere was great and our waitress Severina was excellent.
Great restaurant in Chatham center. I thoroughly enjoyed our off season dinner there. The food was delicious! I loved my fresh fettuccine and clams. The Pan Seared Cornish Game Hen was terrific. And the cocktails were fantastic!! My Manhattan was perfect!
We booked Viera for our rehearsal dinner and it went so well! The whole staff was incredible and everything went so smoothly! Would highly recommend for any event you need!
Excellent restaurant with great service!
Had a reservation for 4 tonight. Seated in the bar area (not asked first) very Loud. Service slow and poor. I ve seen animals at zoos fed better. (Apologies to all zoo animals who are offended by association to this pathetic excuse for a restaurant.)
Food was amazing but not ridiculous prices like some restaurants in the area. Highly recommend!
We had the most enjoyable, delicious meal last night. We split a bunch of apps, salad, entree and dessert. Everything was delicious from start to finish. And super friendly service! One of the better meals we ve had on Cape in a while!
Hands down, one of the best experiences I have had having an impromptu dinner that has a lot of care from start to finish. The food was incredible, the service was on point, and they took the best care of us the entire time. Our (pary of 3) first time there, definitely wont be our last!! Sad as a local I didnt know how amazing this plcae was earlier!!! Love love loveeeee!!!! Thank you to everyone who made it possible. Its so hard doing it so well this time of year (especially firework night) and we are greatful you share our passion as local restaurant workers (were in it deep too) who want and stive to provide this exact feeling and experience! Thank you
Halibut was very good. The steak au poivre was awful.
We enjoyed cocktails and snacks at the bar followed by dinner. Olive and almond appetizer is yummy. Salads are fresh and chicken Milanese was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. Highly recommend Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access
The food is consistently good at a fair price. Service is also good and I particularly like the bartenders
This place was amazing. Service was outstanding and personalized, food was delicious, and experience overall was enjoyable. We had a situation with one of our dishes and staff quickly rectified the issue, voided a gracious amount of the check, and not 1 bit 4 different staff members came to apologize during the course of our dining experience. Very professional and well handled and will certainly be dining here again. The shrimp bruschetta was to die for!
We had a wonderful dinner for 5 people ! Service great and food awesome !!
The food and service were spectacular. Viera was very busy which did nothing to delay the attentiveness of our service, excellent. Our meal was extremely well done, true culinary art. Every detail of the meal was executed perfectly!
Mediocre food, high prices.
Amazing restaurant!!!! Request Renee if you can she was the best waitress around! Will definitely be going back.
Food and service outstanding
Did the NYE set menu. Food was as one would expect on any typical evening. Nothing special. Exorbitant pricing ($150 pp, w tip, no drinks) because of NYE. Service - meh. No need to return. Food
Had a fantastic waitress, on point service, timing, etc. Food was absolutely wonderful. Drinks/wine etc well done. (Only tiny downside was the coffee at the end - my fiance said it was really not good). But - if thats all we had as a problem, that deserves a 5 star. Recommend it to couples, adults, etc - not really a childrens place. Id go back again anytime.
We have had some very good meals here including the salmon, duck and swordfish, all very good. The duck was quite delicious in fact. Shrimp cocktail is fresh, arancini delicious and good chowder as well. The crème brûlée was a nice finish. Atmosphere is suited for dressy or casual with ample outdoor dining and a full raw bar. Service was exceptional by our waitress Sally. Our only gripe is the cocktail glasses might only be 6 oz and with ice, it doesn t leave much. This was quite an issue with a featured cocktail at $27. We averaged $85 a head so not cheap but we liked our experience. It s been under new ownership for two years and the food has improved greatly. So if it s been awhile since you ve been here, you won t be disappointed. Wheelchair accessibility: Parking to front door is wheelchair friendly
Seafood fra diablo was perfect. Parking: Plenty of free parking right behind the restaurant Food : 5/5 |
Delicious meal. Had the Milanese. Great twist in a classic dish. Service excellent.
Charming atmosphere & amazing food. Your choice of oysters from multiple locations on the cape..try Chatham, Welfleet & Dennis oysters side by side. A great experience!
The clam chowder was served cold and had to be sent back it was also thin and watery as dishwater really bad and the Caesar salad was watery and lacked taste. The beet salad dressing was sour and the salad soggy. They were out of lobster bisque and cheesecake but never informed us they were out until we ordered it. Very dissatisfying and disappointing experience
Great place. Good food. Chad and Jillian behind the bars are great as is their wonderful oyster shucker Brant.
a perfect meal with delicious cocktails! Service was a little slow, but all done with a smile on their faces.
Stopped by Viera looking for a raw bar and was not disappointed. Multiple different oysters to choose from, plus some other options like jumbo shrimp. Drinks and service were excellent as well!
Good food and drink, with a professional staff. We ll be back.
We celebrated our parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. We had 16 people in our party and everything was perfect. Sally was our server and she was outstanding. The food was amazing. Everyone in our party loved their meals. I had the scallops and they were delicious. It was a perfect night for such an important celebration. Thank you for making it a great night!
Dinner was delicious. Very accommodating with making wife something not on the menu. Made her crab cake sliders. Amazing Flank steak was cooked perfectly
If you take out the fact that the food took literally 60 minutes. This place is nice. A little overpriced but it is expected due to location, I might have overlooked the later if the food came to the table in a timely fashion. It was a Sunday sunmer evening , if they were not expecting the level of clients to rise on a weekend there are many areas to improve.
Best service in Chatham and the food was delicious.
Another awesome night at the bar with Jules! She always makes it a memorable night!
Great, but a bit noisy. So long as youre not trying to convince with your companions, its fine.
Family dinner. Age span 4-84. All had a wonderful time. Delicious raw bar, salads, bone marrow, fish. Our favorite meal in Chatham. Kid-friendliness: Kids 4 and 8, ate fried calamari, oysters, mussels, bread, asparagus.
Great service and drinks but the food just falls flat.
Great raw bar.
Every dish was delicious! Highly recommend the scallops, lobster succotash
Amazing scallops and swordfish.
Everything we tried was top notch, very fresh and extremely tasty! Restaurant inside is a bit noisy but not a big deal. Overall we will be making it one of our go to spots in Chatham.
The meal was very good and service was excellent. The dining room atmosphere was somewhat lacking.
Excellent food..shame about the service. The food was absolutely excellent, but I had not finished my starter before the main came out. They offered to keep it warm, but that in itself was disappointing...it was fish, it would have gone from excellent to overdone in flash. At the end it was us and another table left. The music was switched off...they clearly wanted us gone. While presumably still expecting a large tip!
Delicious food and beautiful atmosphere. Waitress was wonderful
Fabulous service and lovely meal!
Service was excellent food was great.
Best calamari appetizer. Lightest batter. The cod entree was outstanding!
Outstanding food and service. You cannot go wrong.
I ve worked in restaurants in my younger days so I appreciate it when something is done right. My daughter wanted a nice dinner. She is a Cornell Hotel grad and liked the reviews she read. I expected overpriced average tourist fare. I was pleasantly surprised. Had a perfectly cooked medium rare filet mignon with a reduction sauce and mashed potatoes and asparagus sides. I worked at Pate s in Chatham as a waiter almost 40 years ago. And this filet was a 10/10. I will definitely be eating here in the future. Great job guys!
Very good food great service
Parking: Town parking lot is behind the restaurant, often busy.
Outstanding cod in a nice outdoor setting. Plenty of parking. Right in the middle of downtown Chatham.
Was seated early which was nice but thats about where the niceness ended. The table was small and in the corner. It took a very long time to get drinks... The drink I got was $18 and petite. We ordered fries to start, but the fries were undercooked, they seemed like frozen fries. When we finally got our meals the food was very salty, we had to send the sauteed spinach back because it was so salty. The second spinach didnt have any salt but was absolutely soaked in oil. The filet was also very salty but, being so hungry, was edible. Our server took a very long time between checking on us, leaving us waiting when we had issues with the food. 20 mins after we finished the server brought the bill, they didnt ask about dessert or if the food was even good. The bill itself included the spinach, which we had asked to be substituted for other sides, as a separate charge of $9 (for plain sauteed spinach). Slow service, salty food, small drinks, overpriced. Not recommended.
Its July 18, my boy and I just left. We sat down for a while, nobody even acknowledged.us. people just walked by.. We understand that spots are short staffed, but if youd been us you would have left too. REPLY TO OWNER - We were sat outside by a hostess. There were a number of open tables. There were a couple of larger parties and there were a couple of couples that had just been seated. There were I think 3 waitresses and the hostess, several boys cleaning tables, and one additional guy serving. Our issue is not that it took time, we get that even though there werent a ton of people there you were short staffed. But no one acknowledged us, like no eye contact, no like hey well be over when we can thanks for being patient. we just kept getting walked past. And we were there for at least 45 minutes. We were sat right in the middle of the patio, at least one couple sat after us was served with drinks. So...we left.
Viera on Main has the best Finest Hour in Chatham. We absolutely adore Jill. We enjoyed her company several times this week. We ll see you next summer! Thanks!
My family had dinner here last evening. Our table was situated in the bar area and consisted of 9 adults. Our waiter did not introduce himself when he first approached our table, which was a little rude considering how much he was going to make on preset tip for our party size. Bread was lacking butter and $20 lobster quesadilla was tiny and also lacking lobster. Water was not refilled until we asked. Our main entrees were good, but service could have been better!
We were a party of eight popping in on a Wednesday evening without a reservation. The hostesses did their very best to accommodate us. We had a great evening. The atmosphere was very pleasant, the waiter very professional and great food. We chose to share most of the appetizers and all were delicious especially the lobster roll. Thank you!
Great and friendly staff. They were able to accommodate my family as well as my friends family which included a total of four kids. They did not complain and were extremely focus on our families have an amazing dining experience. 2nd year in a row and same amazing service.
Been here multiple times, good food and service each time. Nice outdoor seating area
Very good lunch.
Great food with professional service!
Don t sit at the bar. We had to ask for silverware, shared plates and the bar was empty. The bartender seemed concerned with anything but customer service. The lobster quesadilla was Taco Bell quality and the portions were TINY. Wish it was still the Bistro. Won t be going back
Great food!!
Although it was recommended by a friend it was kind of dissappointment. Service is great but food needs a lot of improvement. Sorry to say that but it is true.
Disappointing. Menu looked great but food didn t wasn t up to description. Customer leaving as we arrived said restaurant was too cold and he was right. Service was fine. Food was only so so. Worst meal we ve had in two weeks. I didn t care for the taste of the wedge salad. My wife thought it was fine. She didn t like her clam chowder or lobster roll. My house made bucatini with wild boar and beef bolognese just ok.
Great swordfish
Had a light dinner here. Clam Chowder and Ceasar Salad. Both were excellent. Service was also good.
Amazing food and service. Highly recommend!
Delicious food and we loved our server! Such a sweetheart!
So far this was one of our top meals of our stay in Chatham!
Um, wow, expensive, but everything is in the area. Nothing super special here, but it was good enough. No complaints
Where I stay in Chatham is very close so I go here a lot. Very good choices of food in Chatham and this probably the best. This year s menu is a step up from last year s fabulous menu. I get something different each night because it all looks so good I don t want to miss out. But I would gladly eat everything again. I ve had lots of happy hour oysters with the great staff. Good choice of local brews. The steak dishes seem to be great according to my family. I ve stuck with seafood. Scrod dish was awesome, chorizo etc. Had seared tuna and seafood Diablo specials also fabulous.
Nice vibes and excellent service
Unfortunately we did not stay to eat. Let me start by saying we will try to eat here again in the future but this time was NOT a good experience. My wife has a life threatening Latex allergy so finding a safe place to eat is not always easy. Fortunately for us, the young lady who my wife spoke to was very nice and friendly. When we came in to eat we asked to sit outside as there were several available tables outside and the weather was great. The hostess said let me see if the server can handle another table. As she finished saying this a skinny red headed male server was walking by so she asked him if he could take another party? Without stopping or even looking at her he said yup. (We could tell he was not happy) The hostess just kind of looked at us with a weird look. We were seated outside as we requested and waited 10 full minutes without being acknowledged by the waiter before we got up and left. The waiter visited a couple of tables around us bringing water and checks but NEVER as much as acknowledged us. We just wanted to have a relaxing meal and a glass of wine but did not feel very welcome by this waiter so we just got up and left. Looking back I wish I had spoken to the manager but at that point we just wanted to go find somewhere else to eat.
delicious littlenecks and oysters!
Awesome. The drinks were on point and dinner was excellent. We sat at the bar and thanks to Michael and Sam. My favorite spot in Chatham to date.
One of the best restaurants you can go to. Every singe part of our meal plus the service was perfect and deserving of 5 stars.
Went here for dinner tonight and absolutely LOVED the food and service. The young man who served us our food was very polite and attentive. 10/10 would recommend!
Delicious meal, great service, ambiance. They have a good wine list, great fish and seafood dishes. Our server Eva was excellent.
Unfortunately, I wish we went somewhere else for lunch in Chatham for several reasons. 1. This restaurant is not child-friendly at all. The Cape and Chatham are family destinations, and this was a major disappointment. Strollers arent allowed, they only have ONE high chair that we had to wait to use, and there isnt a changing table in either restroom. 2. We had a long wait for food from the time we ordered- about 45 minutes-and they were not busy. 3. The hostess was inattentive and unaccommodating and our server never came to check on beverage and water refills. Overall, the food was okay but the poor service and pretentious vibe was so off-putting that well likely go somewhere else next time.
Mussels appetizer were amazing- so fresh! Great meals!
Delicious food, very friendly and cordial attention!
Really great food and a nice outdoor area to eat right downtown
Pricey but worth it. Very nice presentation. Plenty of outdoor seating
We loved the ambiance of this restaurant, and the seafood is so fresh and full of great flavor! My lobster roll was perfection and my husband loved his, too. When in town we would happily stop by again and we recommend them highly!
Omg the was beyond fantastic and the staff was super friendly and if anyone asks me for a nice restaurant in Chatham I would highly recommend the Bistro
One of the best restaurants in Chatham. Everything was delicious and great service.
Nice place
Food was delicious! I had the chicken Milanese and it was one of the best I ve ever had. My husband had the house made bucatini and he enjoyed it as well. They have a wonderful well spaced out outdoor section.
The chicken Milanese was wonderful. Very Lightly breaded and very juicy.
Very busy, and slow as a result, but wonderful food and great service once you get seated.
We have been several times over the past couple of months - service, food and atmosphere have been very consistent: friendly, attentive, nice vibe and the food is great - quality is suburb / very well prepared and presented. Such a great find in the village, we look forward to going back again soon - Highly recommend!
Delicious, great ambience and service.
This was our first trip to Cape Cod, so we passed through Chatham and decided to stop here for lunch. They had seating outside, but it was a chilly day and their heaters really dont help so pack a sweater or hoodie if you plan to eat outside. The food was very good, service was prompt. We spent just north of $100 (lunch for four), so you figure out if this is expensive. This is a very upscale town, so I thought the price was fair.
We did takeout and it was good. Dining outside is not an option unfortunately.
Food was very good. Service - not so much.
Lots of restaurants in Chatham have take out during the pandemic. All have been good to excellent. Bistro is the best Ive had, so far. Great food, ready exactly on time.
Love this place. Great vibe, food and service. We went twice in 3 days we loved it so much.
Pretty nice, good sized patio, pretty fast service!
Good menu and food. Strong outdoor seating setup.
4 of us went for 7pm dinner during the week. Food and setting were ok but the place lacks management. The kitchen had a problem and the food was super delayed, no manager showed up when we inquired and the hostess was dismissive. The kitchen was understaffed when tables of 18 were on the books. No one cared.
Great food and drink, courteous and friendly staff
Great food and staff. We arrived early and was seated promptly. Staff took proper precautions during covid. There was spacing between tables. I saw them disinfecting after diners left and in the bathroom. The warm lobster roll is excellent. Nice selection of cocktails.
Great meal and great service. Definitely recommend it highly
Meal was very rushed. Dinner was served before we had two sips of our wine. Full dinner in under 40 minutes.
The food here was incredible, the service on the other hand was questionable as i almost got smacked in the head with an umbrella that the manager was carrying, we sat at the table for 20 minutes before anyone came to see us, and the hostess was so incredibly rude and unpleasant she ruined the experience.
Delicious foot there
In my opinion, the BEST restaurant in Chatham, maybe in the whole corner of the Cape. They put a gourmet twist on many of their dishes. You feel like youre eating at a top restaurant in NY or Europe.
Delicious fresh food & top notch service!
Visited Bistro on Main last week and had a lovely night out on the patio. Our food was wonderful and service was great. I realized the next morning that I was missing my scarf and was hoping I left it at the restaurant so I called and left a message. Andrew, the manager called me back that afternoon and made arrangements to meet me the next day, when the restaurant was closed. We had a great night at the Bistro and I truly appreciated the effort that was made by Andrew to return my scarf. Thank you
Overpriced but expected for Chatham. Food was good and there are alot of small plate options for a little less money. I did like the quieter atmosphere here from other places around.
Excellent food and service. I enjoyed my time here. The bartender was extremely kind to us when we ordered at 9pm. I would definitely recommend this resturant. Its a bit pricey but the food is worth it. Especially the mushroom ravoli.
Great food and service, pleasant atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised by fresh grated Horseradish with my Oysters. A nice touch. I had a beer brewed with Wasabi which paired beautifully with the Oysters.
Too expensive for the value. Lobster cakes and chowder, awesome, chicken lollipops, basically dark meat chicken legs, tough, chewy, and sinewy dark meat. Nice patio though.
Nice place in Chatham. Good oysters. Nice menu - plenty of gluten free options. Good drink selection. Okay for a family of 6 on a week night - 2 kids and 2 grandparents.
Awesome food. Make sure to try the lobster roll (hot, of course), as well as the chicken lollipops for appetizers.
The garlic parmesan fries and choice of local select oysters makes this place on point.
Would you have a Cesar salat for $22? And cup of clam chowder for $10?
Excellent food
This place is awesome!!!! Oysters on the half shell was the best Ive ever had. Six different selections were available based on local regions. Wellfleet was my favorite. Presentation was excellent! Fresh grated horseradish to add to cocktail sauce. Jumbo shrimp cocktail was crisp and chilled to perfection. Service was excellent. Ambiance was great. Definitely recommend this to anyone who really enjoys fresh raw bar. And if you go during happy hour, theyre half price! Cant beat that! Will definitely make this a holiday favorite destination!
Delicious food and excellent service. Very dog friendly. Highly recommended.
RAW BAR 1/2 PRICE OYSTERS BETWEEN 4-5:30 PM $ 1.50 AND THE OYSTERS FROM SIX DIFFERENT LOCATIONS ON CAPE COD
Love the outdoor patio.
Great food, nice setting and good service.
Interesting choices in food.
good place
Best place for oysters, and Sally makes a great Mojito!
Wow, absolutely delicious, best fish and chips with an amazing homemade tartar sauce.
Over priced, and pretentious. Kids menu started at $18 for spaghetti, and the spaghetti wasnt even made of gold with diamond encrusted meatballs at those prices. Fries were saturated in olive oil and parmesan cheese so they could call them pom fritz and charge $8 for about 12 soggy fries.
Friendly and lively. Great fresh choices and familiar service
Awesome food!
Hard to find anything redeeming about our experience here. I should have looked for reviews about kid friendliness before going, because when I searched they shared what we experienced: no strollers inside (which I understand is typical for the area), but no high chairs or booster seats and no changing table in the bathroom. However, we were able to sit outside and keep my toddler in the stroller. Fine. But the food was underwhelming and the service was poor. They did have a kids menu but it was extremely overpriced. $12 for a crustless grilled cheese seems a bit much. No water refills until we specifically requested it with the check. I asked for bread with my mussels and they said yes but never brought it. The Cesar salad had four croutons, four anchovies, and nothing but a bunch of kale. The potato salad tasted odd and my husband didnt like the fish sandwich (note that it is HUGE). The staff was friendly enough but it seems they were not prepared for it to be so busy mid-week since the weather wasnt beach-friendly. For how much the food cost, the quality just really wasnt there. Wish we had gone somewhere else.
great food, wonderful bread and bean dip! great help! skimpy cocktails.
Fresh local fish, great service, nice atmosphere!
Great place for oysters in Chatham! They have an outside area with nice tables. Tucked away with parking in the back. Decent food, other than oysters, but not the best. Would recommend only going for oysters and light apps.
Great food and fair pricing. Favorite place on Main St. Currently favorite restaurant on Main St.
Came between 3-5. Seated promptly outside. Menus on the table when we sat down. Asked if there were any other items as not much on the menu for kids but they did not mention there was a kids menu. Placed an order for menu items including happy hour shrimp, clams and oysters. 3/4 shrimp arrive and the clams. Other items arrive including chicken lollipops and calamari. No oysters. At another table a child is served fish and chips. How did that child get that we ask, oh its on the childrens menu they reply. What childrens menu we ask... Fish and chips order placed and delivered. Still no oysters. Ask about the oysters. What oysters! Oysters order placed 45 mind after we originally thought it was. Food is well prepared and presented. They know their allergens but some better staff training would go a long way. Repeating back the order for example. Overall. 3/5. Food 4/5. Asking for napkins multiple times 2/5. Service 3/5.
Great oysters at raw bar Happy hour!
We ate there last night and it was wonderful. Truly one of the best meals weve had. I had the scrod which Ive been dreaming about since and my husband went for the tuna, which he said he may have to drive 5 hours from CT just to taste again! Will definitely return next time were in Cape Cod.
Yummy and great drinks..a little hidden away..perfect for less crowds
Small portion for such a high price.
Ignored by the hostess for good 10 minutes. Once our presence was recognized, seated in a cozy corner. Ordered our food. Waited a good 25 minutes and when it was delivered, it was completely wrong. Wait staff was friendly, but scatter-brained.
Love the raw bar . Great service. Great food.
My husband and I love this place and their food.
Just ok.
I had the cold lobster roll and my wife had the hot. Both delicious. Good beer selection. The service was quite slow even though we were there for a late lunch and they werent busy.
