Best food Ive had in Chatham recently!

We truly appreciated the tremendous customer service. Our host Eva was pleasant, personable, and accommodating. She was very knowledgeable about the menu (including ingredients) and specials, asked us individually how our meals were, was prompt in service, constantly refilled our water and replaced silverware, and was genuinely interested in getting to know our party. Also, we had an infant - Eva brought her food quickly and brought crayons to make our experience enjoyable. Thanks Eva and team!!!!

Buzy and busy restaurant, efficient and helpful staff. I recommend not sitting in the front area of the restaurant which looks like a temporary conservatory extension and sounded very noisy. We had the ceviche to start which was very nice, although the wife preferred it more than me - I m not a big fan of eating fruit and fish together. For our main course we both had the steamed claims - such a disappointment. The clams themselves were of high quality but both the claims and the linguine (which was over cooked) they came with were drowned in a tasteless, watery broth. The large slices of spicy sausage unfortunately didn t add anything in the way of Portuguese flavour to the dish. Such a shame as, from reading the menu description, all of the ingredients should have added up to such a delicious dish. To cook claims well is not difficult and it is so sad that these wonderful claims were so spoiled by their cooking.

Everything was very tasty foodwise! Our waitress Jane had an unpleasant attitude throughout our service.

The best restaurant in a very long time! Varied, original, hearty and reasonable price cuisine Bravo to the chef for her specials inspired by different countries, its a change from burgers! Not to be missed!

We love the food at Del Mare but it is impossible to get a reservation. I went online to make a reservation for the week of 7/27. Their online system allowed me to select a date and the number of people. There is also a spot for comments. I received a call back asking if I was looking for tonight (the caller did not know what day or many people I was looking for). Apparently, they can only see what you write in the comment section. Keep that in mind, diners, when using the online reservation tool. I was informed that there no openings until September. Cancellation spots only is what I was told. Great for the restaurant but tough for diners!!

The food at Del Mar is undeniably excellent. However, the experience of dining there is so maddening that it s simply not worth it. The management believes they don t have to treat their customers well because there s a line out the door and so they don t. I was a regular for 20+ years since they were called the Roo Bar, but after an unbroken series of bad experiences over the past two years I m done with this onanistic establishment.

We always make a reservation when we re in town. The food is consistent, hot, and delicious. Service is always amazing! Perfect date night spot.

My wife came in with three children at 5:30pm and after a strange look down by the hostess were told that it s reservation only and the first available table would be only at 9:30pm. Fine, no problem. My wife then asked to purchase a bottle of water - they brought a check and asked for a credit card.. my wife asked for Apple Pay, and they said they don t have it and asked if she has any money or remembered her credit card number. Then they told her it s best if she goes to CVS to buy water as it will be cheaper there

We enjoy coming to Del Mar every year for our annual summer visits. The food is consistently good, which is a mark of a great restaurant. Theres a wide variety of dishes from steaks to seafood and salads that can accommodate the palates of both adults and younger children. It is often difficult to do all dishes well, especially when theres a large menu offering. Our favorite dishes are the peach, burrata and prosciutto salad, mushroom tart, steak, duck and any of the pan seared fish. The portions are large and we often will have leftovers. Desserts are generally crowd pleasers. Service is good but can be slow sometimes when restaurant is crowded. Getting a table for a large party is difficult so need to plan early. Sitting near the bar area is our only complaint due to the loud music and noise level. The covered section of the restaurant, while warmer during the summer, is more pleasant for dining. This isnt a fine dining restaurant but it certainly is a great restaurant that is consistent in providing good food for an enjoyable dining experience.

Booked at the last minute. Their steak salads are as delicious as advertised. Fresh greens, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and steak that melts in your mouth.

We have loved this restaurant for years. The oysters were great, as was the fig pizza, but the peach salad was nothing like it had been in the past. It was disappointing. Hopefully, a fluke.

An outstanding customer service experience I had at this place. I went to grab a quick dinner and both bartenders and the hostess were working on Friday night was absolutely amazing. Beautiful place, and the food was delicious, I ordered fílet-mignon for my entree and the lime chesscake for desserts. I highly recommended this place. Thanks guys for your amazing service.

Great pizza!

Came in a little skeptical of other reviewers as they were also claiming this was fine dining, but while they were dead wrong about the ambiance as its decidedly bistro casual, they werent wrong about the food. Our Mediterranean pizza had a face only a mother could love, but was light, thin, and had just enough quality ingredients to make it sing . The beet salad had wonderfully fresh chunks of beets and arugula. My cod didnt disappoint and lived up to the hype by other reviewers - light, flakey, salty, on a bed of rice that provided a nice counter texture and not ruined with a heavy fry or soy like other restaurants on the cape. Surprise standout though was the key lime pie. Fresh lime, mixed to impossibly silky smooth filling with an unabashed tang and sweetness, complemented with some fresh cream and light crumbly crust. It was a little silly expensive at $11 a slice, but we seriously considered buying a whole pie. All desserts are made in house. Well be back the next time we hit the cape! FYI - Getting the sense that the specials menu is a permanent thing.

There s a reason you need reservations some of the best food on the cape! The steak salad is one of the best salads I ve ever had and they have fantastic cocktails.

Had a small family get together. The atmosphere, the service and the food were all top notch. I had the house salad and the steak frets. It was cook perfect medium rare, the fries and asparagus per perfectly cook as well. Love every aspect of the night. The family hang out was ok as well.

Great food and drinks. Lots to choose from, regular and special dishes. Looking forward to returning again.

The food here was fantastic. Fresh greens and berries, wood grilled oysters, and seafood so fresh, you will not believe it! All seasoned to perfection. The bar is stocked with a wide variety of drinks. I learned that this is one of the few spots that doesnt close in the off season as well. Definitely a local favorite.

We somehow snuck into this place on a busy Friday night. We ate at the bar. The wait for tables wasn t guaranteed due to the amount of reservations. There was even a wait for the bar seats. Oysters were great! The wine selection was lacking, but they had a big cocktail menu. We both ordered the halibut, and it was great. The apple mango relish was delicious. Then we split a crème brûlée. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free celiac diseases

Did not enjoy my experience

One of Chatham s absolute best, must go-to restaurants. Service is good to very good, dishes are amazing. Huge fan of the lobster tostada - exceptional!

Best dinner we ve had in a very long time, the chicken and swordfish were divine, slow eat mouth watering, side salad with maple balsamic dressing was outstanding fresh and flavorful, pizza was very good but not the same level as the others. 4 drinks one desert swordfish chicken and two pizzas totaled $210 without $42 tip for about $250 total. I go here every single time I come to cape cod. It s the best date night. Honestly believe this is the best restaurant on cape.

Has to be one of the classiest places on the Cape. Went with friends and really enjoyed our dinner. Service was impeccable, and the food was even better. We had the cod special, swordfish, bolognese, and littleneck steamers.

French onion soup, small portion kinda cheap. Blue cheese croutons were delicious but there were only three not enough to replace the traditional bread & cheese top!! Tuna with Asia noodle flavorless!

We came here for dinner after a family event. Word got around and so what we thought was going to be a party of 6 turned into a party of 26. Delicious meal and cocktails! Had the raw oysters, burrata bruschetta, tuna Pad Thai, and Mediterranean flatbread. Yum! Great service and not a long wait for each course. Started to get pretty busy around 6:30 so I recommend getting there early. Highly recommend for a great dinner spot!

Cozy, cool, and the best place for refinement in the area! The food was superb and the drinks were heavy-hitting perfection. Mushroom Tart, Calamari, Cod, Tuna, Bananas Foster, and Key Lime Pie were all on point. As our server said We have no specials, everything we do is special. Touche

Had the recommended special short ribs served in a mole sauce. It was not good and overcooked. The wife had the Szechuan tuna and again it was dry and not that great. We had a big party of 11 and I didnt want to send them back so we nibbled and just drank wine. I should have researched the reviews before coming to know what is good here but just went with the special recommendations. Wish it woukd have been better.

Wonderful meal, I sat at the bar for my meal which was very good, but very one at the bar was eating pizza. I will return and will have to try one. Vegetarian options: They offer something. Parking: Has a parking lot, which was full.

Great food and great service. However, you have to get there before they open so you can sit at the bar. From what I understand the inns take all the table reservations and the only seats available are at the bar. Even so its well worth it.

Seriously one of the best meals ever and definitely one of the best restaurants on the Cape. We tried Halibut and a Surf and Turf special as well as some apps. Everything was incredibly delicious and presentation was flawless. Service was casual and prompt. Fine dining level food in an unpretentious environment. Espresso martinis were perfection. Can t wait to return.

We are visiting Chatham from NJ and ordered food to-go on this cold and stormy night. Let me start off by saying, the restaurant was SO accommodating. Originally not sure if kitchen could handle take-out because they were so busy but pulled some strings and made it happen. The pizza was delicious but the salmon quinoa bowl was PHENOMENAL. I mean, one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my life and I am a total foodie. Lavender and sumac dusted salmon?!?? Need I say more!!? WOW. This made my soul happy! PS: I promise, minimal wine was consumed in writing this review - it was truly just that good!!

The outer Cape has many good restaurants to choose from, but we find Del Mar to be the best dining experience of them all. The food, ambiance, service, and value are all 5-Stars. The restaurant fills up every night or close to it. So its best to make reservations well in advance, particularly for Fridays and Saturdays.

Absolute delight for the senses. Ordered the Japanese raviolis and it was incredible. The atmosphere is calm, the lighting is perfect. The staff was friendly and professional. Highly recommend going to Del Mar!

I d give 6 stars to ducklings if I could. Perfect mix of tenderness, richness and sweetness (from the cranberry). Take-out order during Covid is easy. Highly recommend.

Get reservations early, perhaps two weeks in advance.

Adored the Wood-Roasted Peach & Fresh Fig Salad (arugula, prosciutto, burrata, honeydew, candied pecans, rosemary honey & balsamic glaze!). Yum. So many interesting ideas on the menu. Get your reservation in early. It fills up even on weeknights (we had to wait a night and go at 5pm the next day to get in!).

Looked online for a seafood restaurant and this place looked nice enough to try. The food was outstanding..... I had the Tuna and my wife had the mango pork chop... Both were prepared with love. And Alexis with her 5 star service completed the night!! Great find! And a must try!

Weve never had a disappointing meal at Del Mar! The atmosphere is fun and lively, but not overly loud. The service is always spot-on. I tend to measure how good the service in a restaurant is by whether I have to search out a server to get a drink refilled; never happens here! I started with the pork belly appetizer and it was out of this world - full of amazing flavor and it just melts in your mouth. Followed with the halibut, which was fantastic. Cooked to perfection and perfectly paired with its accompaniments. If you are lucky enough to be able to get a table, GO!

Wonderful seafood dinner for our family of four with attentive service.

Had the most amazing dinner. Our table ordered Raw Oysters, Pan Roasted Halibut, Grilled Filet Mignon, and Chocolate Lava Cake. The halibut may very well be the best dish Ive ever eaten. I was impressed with the presentation, the creative flavors, and the size of the lobster claw. The filet was cooked to perfection and the flavors with the sides and the demi-glace were out of this world delicious. The oysters were clearly fresh and wonderfully prepared. The chocolate flavor in the cake was outstanding. The food at Del Mar Bar & Bistro was a true treat and experience for our taste buds. Thank you for making a special night even more memorable.

Wife and I came by for an early dinner. Hadnt been in since it first opened as Del Mar. Wont wait that long to return. Our server, Simon was spot on. He was polite, professional and attentive. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the Crispy Pork Belly, Linguine Bolognese, Ribeye Frites and blueberry pie a la mode. The chef and her staff were great. Highly recommend this place!

I dined here for the first time this evening, and was very pleased. The food was scrumptious and the staff was very nice. The Mississippi Mudpie was one of the best desserts I ve ever tried!

Love this restaurant! Consistently outstanding food and service.

We had a late reservation but got there early. Hung out at the bar, had some great drinks, and still go seated early. The hostess actually let us pick which available table we wanted.The clam chowder was very good and the Boston Bibb salad was great. We had the filet and it was VERY tender and cooked to perfection (Medium rare). For dessert we had the Mississippi mud pie. I thought it might be to sweet, but it was perfect. This is a great place if you are in the area. Reservations are recommended.

Would recommend a table over the bar. Bartenders don t do good when it gets busy at all! I had a question about the food because of an allergy and was instructed to find a waitress based on her description to ask my question to. Other than that was hard to order a new drink because they didn t have time to check in & were focus on table drinks.

Great diversified menu

Fantastic dinner, drinks, and service! The pork chop was absolutely amazing and the catch of the day (cod) was buttery and cooked perfectly. The cherry gelato paired with the flourless chococolate torte was the perfect end to a delicious meal. Highly recommend.

Had not only the best halibut dish I ve ever had, but one of the best balanced & flavored entrees I ve ever had (& we eat out OFTEN). Very fresh salads, really interesting & perfectly balanced cocktail with guava, aperol, etc. Wish we were in this area more often, but glad we found this place

The food was incredible. The menu has a great selection of creative options. Everything we had was excellent (apps, entree, dessert). The server was very friendly and attentive. We went on a Saturday night near Christmas and sat on the heated patio area. It was decorated beautifully and very cozy. We will definitely be going back!

Dropped in on a cold January evening and the restaurant was beautiful, cozy and warm. We just wanted to grab a pizza and salad to go after a long day of sightseeing, and the hostess could not have been lovelier. The food was incredibly flavorful, priced competitively and left us with Del Mar at the top of the list for our next Chatham dinner! Wonderful!

One of the best restaurants in Chatham. We have been eating here weekly for years. Fantastic food.

Felt like the waitress was judging us because we weren t dressed up all fancy. Food was expensive which wasn t a big deal but it definitely wasn t super worth the price.

Del Mar is simply the Best!

Fantastic!! I made the mistake of making reservations at the wrong Del Mar . The Del Mar in Chatham we re still able to seat us on a busy Thursday night. They had a live jazz band playing which made for a lovely ambiance. We tried the lobster tostada, the fried artichoke hearts with goat cheese and both of us had fish entrees. The food was exceptional. I felt the pricing was on par for the area and the quality of the food/presentation etc. Will definitely go back.

Delicious food and out of the ordinary! You need to plan ahead and make a reservation days in advance, but its worth the wait! Weve been there a few times and always enjoyed it. Tonight, I had easily the best pan roasted halibut ever: the fillet was juicy inside with a golden brown crust; the taste of the fish was complemented with creamy polenta, kumquats, pomegranate, and hearts of palm, in a glaze of goodness. Absolutely delectable!

Favorite restaurant this end of the Cape! You can not make a bad order the menu is amazing and the drinks are good! Well worth the price!

Great food great service cant say enough about Del Mar!

Quite an interesting menu, especially the appetizers. I didn t like the open kitchen; all the aromas go into the room. The prices are not low. The waitress was quite stern. Maybe because there was a corporate party, and there was only one for 13 people.
