Just ordered my first meal after moving into the area last weekend and it was amazing! Delivered precisely on time, piping hot and delicious. Cannot fault the meal at all, and I will definitely be a regular customer!
This is a fantastic Indian restaurant... Great food, nice setting and very attentive wait staff. Slightly more expensive than the average Indian restaurant but it is wearable once you immerse yourself in your surroundings and get the cuisine tucked into. Great food 👌🏽
The food came as described on the menu. Fresh and full of flavour. The service to top it all off was quick yet extremely attentive. I will most definitely make this my regular Indian.
We were staying locally and booked a table for 4 yesterday evening. The place was full on a Tuesday night which speaks volumes. I had chicken shashlik and it was probably the best I’ve had. The restaurant does not serve alcohol but you can take your own. Very attentive service and excellent food.
Dinner to escape the football and not only were the staff watching it on a tablet at the bar, but people in the restaurant also had it on phones etc. Despite this, food was really nice, atmosphere friendly and chef came out to introduce himself and check how our meal was which was a nice touch.
The food was amazing as usual and I like the fact you can bring your own drinks. The service was a little off this time when it’s usually very good and usually the staff are friendly and chatty but it felt more like we were being rushed and an inconvenience. I’m sure it was a one off as usually very nice. Will definitely go back!!
What a fantastic restaurant. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is great and most importantly the food is incredible. The only negative is that they don’t currently hold a license to serve alcoholic beverages, although glassware and wine coolers are provided should you wish to bring your own alcoholic drinks. Definitely worth a visit for a great Indian meal.
Here we go. Don’t let its humble, tucked away location put you off. Taj Cuisine does not follow the “all trousers and no pants” precedent of many Indian restaurants. This is the real deal. The accolades that litter its walls aren’t there by accident. Service is accurate, attentive and perceptive. The owner made me feel welcomed and ensured my needs were met by checking in throughout the course of my visit. Surroundings are comfortable and very much like that of regular Indian restaurants. What is different is the dishes. They are exciting, dramatic, looking and tasting absolutely beautiful. My main course was edging towards fine dining given its presentation and quality. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Kent, class in a Chatham retail estate glass.
Cant really fault them , Est in and takeaway very good food is contistant excellent and delivery also excellent, Best Indian for a long time
Absolutely fantastic, very accommodating. I have a dairy allergy and the chef always goes that extra mile by cooking me my own dairy free chicken korma, and its delicious as is all the food. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended. Dietary restrictions: Cater for vegans
Best curry house in the south east
Reasonable curry
THE BEST CURRY BY MILES. EAT IN OR TAKE AWAY. RASCHID AND THE STAFF ARE ALL VERY HELPFUL. Parking: EASY PARKING
I havent seen lemon in a good jel for years fantastic food
Best
Ordered collection was very well packaged and clearly labelled. Friendly staff and the food tasted amazing too will definitely have to dine in sometime.
Always a great meal and friendly service
Went in for take away was asked to come back 15 mins later after ordering Staff not interacting Went back got walked to door . handed food and sent on my way !!!!!! Never again ..rude Food : 2/5 |
Not the best food I have ever eaten. Service was poor. Took far too long from starter to main meals arriving. The place was full but there were plenty of waiters serving, so I have no idea how we were left unattended foe so long. We wont be returning to this restaurant. Parking: Public parking area.
Always liked it here , food delicious. I had a disaster with home cooked rice for a home cooked curry so asked if we could come collect a few rices to help me out and was told NO as we have to order a main meal. Business is business and I don t think I was asking for anything unreasonable. I wasn t asking taj to go out of your way to deliver these. Can t understand why we wasn t able to collect? Ridiculous if you ask me
Very expensive but above average food quality. Interior was clean and cultural and waiters very prompt. Sort of place you would dine out with friends or associates as the food quality and service wins. I have also had Takeaways which again are promptly delivered but disappointed on the serving size, a bit on the mean side. Overall would use when I have money in my back pocket. Vegetarian options: Not really thought out for vegetarians, only standard offerings. Parking: Convenient and spacious parking
Nice staff and good service. Food was hot and freshly prepared. You can really taste the fresh ingredients. We enjoyed every mouthful, nothing was left over. We will definitely be back again.
Great night out with friends
We loved our dinner here and went for the chefs specials which featurw unusual dishes with a taste of the old moghul india, mixing delicate spices, fruits and sauces with giant prawns or succulent lamb or chicken and pairing them with lemon or lime rices or the like. All this, as well as the wide and proficient range of more familiar dishes. We had the Zanga golda prawns and Shemali lamb, beautifully composed meals, with a side of delicious sag paneer. Thank you chef (Kamal tonight) and all the courteous staff. Nice ambience, convenient parking, byo wine. Vegetarian options: Plenty, including thali Dietary restrictions: Full options marked and catered for Parking: Plenty freely available in small shopping mall
Never go again
Great service and great food !!!
Really nice. Restaurant is clean and stylish. Nice atmosphere and nice staff. Food was really tasty. All fresh and whilst they dont have a separate vegetarian menu as such they can make any dish vegetarian. Really liked it here. Staff were quick to clean away things at the table, so quick that at times we werent finished with it and they were taking it away, but really no complaints :)
Food was ok, service not good. We booked a table for 6:30, ordered poppadoms while looking at the menu and ordered mains around 6:50. Our food didnt arrive until after 8pm and we had barely finished eating before our plates were cleared, the bill arrived and we were asked to leave as they had the table booked out again at 8:30! So rude, and all avoidable if our meals had been served within a reasonable timescale.
Had to wait 2 hours for my curry , only got 4 bits of chicken in my curry so not happy , the best one I have had is the one at Davies estate more chicken in your food and taste better.after talking to the management and saying I had only 4 bits of chicken in each curry and they said they put 9 bits in get a life or back home , so placed order at 6 got it at 7.45 not good enough, and now they are saying that they will give me 20%discount of next time I order sorry but no way , please use the one taste of India better food and more for your money
been coming to Taj cuisine for a while and it has never failed to impress only negative feedback is that the price of the food is expensive but I think its worth it as food is stunning
We felt rushed with our meal I didnt finish my starters and the waiter was persistent to clear the table. We was not finished with the main meal but waiter was just hanging around my table and kept asking every 2 minutes if we have finished eating. I felt rushed through out the evening and uncomfortable with waiters around us as they kept looking to clear the table. The prawn curry was like water...no taste. The best thing was the naans, very soft and fresh. Parking: A lot of parking available
First time ordering. Can say its absolutely gorgeous. Lamb curry meat was good quality and not at all chewy. Kurma, pilau rice and bombay aloo is full of flavour. Naan bread and papadum were also fresh and delicious. Will definitely be ordering again and also dine in. Jade & Brandon
Had a fabulous meal last night for a birthday celebration. 10/10 for food and Service. Bringing your own alcohol was even better well done to all staff.
put so much food color in Currys and... expensive...do not go on photos its not real..not friendly staff..test do not justify the n no of certificate...,,bad experience
Despite seeing a runner-up to best takeaway in Kent sticker on door, this must ve been the worst Indian meal. I ve had not any Medway, but always
Dont often eat out but this is the best Indian around
Absolutely shocking .. Took our order and we waited 3 hours .. currently still waiting ... I wont order from here again .. called 3 times and they hang up on us .. Didnt really want the rubbish so probably done me a favour in the long run Food : 1/5 |
Great food, would fully recommend.
Last minute decision, excellent waiting staff, glad they squeezed us in last week . Food was just lovely
Used to be good, not anymore. First of all when I booked they didn t tell me they have lost their alcohol license. Had to go to coop over road to buy some beers. Asked for a naan with starter and they refused. No reason given, just told no. I found this bizarre and told the waiter but didn t make a fuss. Then ordered a madras which I have ordered there for years and what they gave me was equivalent to a phal in terms of heat. Had two bits and had to leave the rest and had hiccups for 3 hours afterwards. Not sure if this was to spite me for asking for a naan with my starter, maybe I offended them by asking. Who knows. What a sorry state this once renowned restaurant has become. Half empty at 8pm on a Friday night says it all really. If you re going to charge a premium price maybe don t offer a basement level service. Will never return. What a shame.
Lovely staff, great atmosphere and delicious food what more could you want!
Lovely lunch even though we were the only one eating in we didnt feel rushed at all. 5 stars and will always go back!
Always amazing food and nice atmosphere
One of the staff members was very rude and did like we were an inconvenience being there, very rude and unprofessional. Waiting time for the food was unnecessarily long. Food was average, for that price. Do not recommend yikes. The next day had to vomit and had diarrhoea says enough. I do not recommend coming here unless you re boring and basic.
Fantastic food and great service.
Good food
Great food as always and great service
A very special treat Food quality and service both outstanding
Nice food,nice restaurant
Great food and great service. Specials are varied and tempting!
Went into the restaurant at 6pm ordered food to be delivered at 8pm Called restaurant at 8.30pm to ask where my delivery was to be shouted at Delivery driver turned up at 9.10pm Bad service bad customer relations Avoid avoid avoid
Very tasty food. Really accommodating staff. I would recommend! Its bring your alcohol if you want a drink with your dinner which actually reduces the bill too. If you havent tried it youre missing out
Food was great as always, decent portions (although only 4 prawns in the main felt a bit stingy). Service was really slow - felt like there was more focus on the takeaways.
Very friendly service and excellent quality staff great place to eat
So, cant complain about the food, it was actually quite nice. The service was very poor. The waiters were constantly hovering, trying to take our food away before wed even finished. When not standing by our table, they were all stood at their counter watching us. We were being rushed out of the door, they emptied every table around us of cutlery etc, and took the warm towel away before wed even opened it...it was about 7:30pm, if that. All in all, a very unpleasant experience. Probably the first time ever that iv not left a tip
Wow, lovely food!.. Not licensed so take your own Wine & Beer.. We will be back
Tried it again tonight after it went downhill a few years ago. We had takeaway, sadly very disappointed. The madras tasted of strong ginger and was extremely watery and the chicken was very tough. The mushroom rice was very, very greasey. The other dishes were mediocre at best. Definately will not be returning.
Amazing food, very polite staff who are quick and attentive, clean and well presented restaurant, highly recommended.
Excellent food, excellent service. It is always busy for this reason, so book in advance.
Great food. Would recommend. Vegetarian options: Great byirani.
Ordered via just eat where it states that delivery time is between 50-65 mins. I place my order at 8pm so delivey by 9.05pm. once I had paid they changed time to 9.45. I called Taj directly to query the time to be greeted very rudely being told its not their problem nothing they can do I either wait for delivery or cancel. But if I cancel I wont get a refund. He the goes on to say why am I even complaining my food isnt even due yet so what was my problem!!! I wasnt even complaining that it was late just querying the delivery time. I have used Taj for many years but I will not be going there again after this experience very disappointed
Not so good dishes and higher cost. Not recommended
Both me and my wife had upset stomachs... I would avoid at all costs
Food was excellent
Best Indian, Ive had in a very long time
I hesitated to give this place four stars. The food as always was excellent but this time, my carton was only two thirds full and very little sauce. I also ordered 90 minutes in advance but nevertheless had to wait about ten minutes for it to be ready when I arrived to pick it up. Seven p.m. on a Monday is not a peak time so Im not really sure what the hold up was.
Restaurant is clean and tidy. Service is average. Dishes and main course is very costly compared to same kind of restaurant and you get cheaper option and same taste from other restaurant. We order 2 chicken curry and 2 type nan and 2 type rice. Garlic Nan and special fried rice was taste nice. Coconut rice have Coconut and toomuch sugar just like dessert . And Chill Nan its name like lot of chilli . Thats the difference and very costly. And very very less quantity.
Top notch Ruby highly recommend
Extremely expensive and food was not cooked, had king prawn jalfrazi. Will not go there again due to excessive prices.
Went here last night for my cousins 19th birthday and I have never experienced such poor customer service in my entire life. As someone who works in hospitality, if I behaved like the waiters did last night I would probably get the sack. First of all, we had our 2 year old with us in which the restaurant was not impressed at. They didn t have high chairs or a nappy change facility. When I asked if they did they replied No, we have never come across someone asking this before , which I don t believe for a second. Reluctantly I had to change my little boy on the chair. The whole time we were having our meal they were staring at our table, huddled at the bar in a circle talking & generally seemed eager for us to leave the whole time we was there. Food took over an hour to come out. When they brought out the food the plates were scorching hot in which they did not worn us about. Over all waiters made us feel very uncomfortable. When we left I forgot about the nappy sack on the chair in which one of the waiters gave to me and said take it home. I refused and asked them to put it in the bin here. Could write so much more about the bad service. Food was nice until me and my partner woke up during the night with belly aches. Will never be returning.
Booked table for 6.30 didnt get our mains until 7.15 then when we asked for a coffee at 8 PM was told we will have to hurry cause the table was booked for another party at 8.30 dont mind only having 2hrs for table but serve our mains earlier then
Amazing food as always
Awful, rude, unprofessional staff who don t take care about the customer.
Absolutely fantastic service, couldn t have asked for a better experience! The food was to die for, and the presentation was fab too. Even as a large group out for a work meal, the staff were so enthusiastic to help out and made sure our experience was top notch. Would highly recommend!
Normally ok.. waited 2hr 30 for a delivery.. stuff missing... not OK. Wont use again now...
Fantastic and authentic. Award winning Indian chef. Fresh ingredients used, plenty of parking space
Amazing...the flavours were having a party in my mouth...Ive never tasted anything like this....
Great food but the soft drinks are expensive
Price is good, immense food!! Very tasty, big portions, 10 out of 10 for me!! Will definitely order from here again!!
This is my first time here, and the food wasn t great, I had chicken biriani and Bombay pots, the dishes had excessive oil and was so bland, no real flavour and biriani was like a blended soup, very poor. I have had better from the supermarket. The restaurant looks very nice but the takeaway was terrible.
Excellent food every time , staff really friendly , nothings too much trouble, would recommend Taj 100%
Best Indian restaurant in Kent. Only let down is the recent changes on serving alcohol. Says bring your own...I thought it was a joke but turns out its true!!! sort it out.
Excellent as always.
We had a takeaway from here tonight and it was very underwhelming but with some standout dishes. The Kathmandu lamb is great, but the Taj special curry was flavourless and boring and the zinga golda was quite strange and also flavourless so it was let down at almost £18!!! The butter chicken was nice but the lamb Rogan Josh was underwhelming. I expected a lot more as weve had good meals at the restaurant before. The takeaway also came later than the slot I booked it for and they never got back to my voicemail about a query with my order. Quite disappointing all in all.
Gourmet Indian food. Portions could be a little bigger, but the food is absolutely excellent. Easily the best in Kent.
Amazing food, best weve had in a long time. Especially the Kathmandu chicken! N well priced
The food here is excellent. Always is The service though used to be more welcoming than it is now. The staff seem jaded.. Such a shame.
Very nice as it always is. Bring your own booze is a nice touch
Lovely food
Ever since they have been prosecuted for illegally employing and mistreating their staff , MORE THAN ONCE, I am nothing short of disgustedg with this place. Cant believe it can continue to trade tbh. Will never go there again.
Visited with friends for the first time and can only say lovely. From the minute we set foot in the restaurant the staff were friendly and attentive but without be intrusive. The food was excellent and service just right that u felt welcome and in no way rushed. Giving you poppodoms with dips while you decided what to eat was a lovely touch. As for the mine the rice was perfect and the chicken lovely and tender Would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an evening of fine food in a relaxed atmosphere.
My wife had a prawn curry it was bland and tasted like a birds eye curry in the bag. Chef should know how to cook a basic curry
I would absolutely recommend Taj Cuisine. I have to be honest, since I was around 8 years old I have ordered the exact same meal every single time. Chicken tikka masala, with mushroom rice. Since becoming a vegetarian I have just removed the chicken. It is consistent and always equally as enjoyable. The staff are impeccable, over the years we have built a relationship with this restaurant. The atmosphere is always calm and makes for an enjoyable meal everytime.
Excellent food and the staff did a brilliant job with a large group. Personally would of liked to have seen a few more vegetarian main course options (2 options on a large menu is not many), but what they did have was very nice.
Lovely food
Always excellent food, my only gripe is how long you wait for your food, it is very rarely in the timescale you are given, normal wait is an additional 15 minutes post given collection time
Always very nice food Used this place for years They do takeaway aswell
Wonderful food and staff
Food good always as is the service. Recommend worth a visit
Went there with friend who recommended this place and what a great place to dine. Lovely food, great service and reasonable priced. Will definitely go again.
Great food friendly staff always a treat going there
The go-to Indian restaurant in Kent! We have probably eaten here more than 20 times and the quality of the food and service is unrivalled, little wonder they continue to win awards about being the best in Kent. Excellent attention to detail and the commitment to keeping on modernising is also evident as they invest in redecorating. Well recommended.
First time of ordering a takeaway here and will definitely come again. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. People were very polite and professional. Very good service. Thank you.
Had a lovely meal and friendly staff would recommend
Came here for a birthday meal a few years ago and was fantastic. Came back today with a group of 13 and would not recommend. The food was decent, but we got kicked out 2 1/2 hours after our booking as the table was double booked for the night. Restaurant advised it was because we delayed ordering by 30 minutes while we waited for our group to show, but failed to take into account that it took over an hour for our orders to come out. We also skipped starters as well. Furthermore you would expect the restaurant to understand larger groups take longer, I would assume thats why we waited an hour for our main course to arrive. Also we only got offered one round of drinks after we all sat down, one of us even went up to ask for water which shouldnt happen. So all in all, we were there for 2 1/2 hours and yes we delayed it by 30 minutes. But 1 course and 1 round of drinks in two hours is atrocious. It put a downer on what was a good evening. Next time Id rather go to somewhere that has average food but we can stay long enough to have more than a main course!
Beautiful meal, great service. X
Been to every Indian in Medway and Maidstone. Nothing even comes close to Taj Cuisine. Best Indian Ive ever been to by far.
Always lovely food. I ordered online and it was ready when I got there. This is not always the case so thanks very much. Dont hesitate to order anything here as the food is first class.
Excellent food, really friendly service and a huge choice of dishes...would recommend
Had takeaway delivered saturday night ,food turned up cold.Chicken tikka masala did not have much chicken in it and the meat tikka masala was the same. The tikka sauce was very watery and not much taste will not use again.
Food is always lovely the service is good always eat here lovely place
Amazing food, wonderful staff!
Great food delivered quickly. A smile from the delivery guy would have been great. Quite expensive.
We called upon the Taj tonight to rescue us from a bad experience we had out at another Indian restaurant. The Taj absolutely delivered by having our food ready for collection in half an hour, even though there was a power cut in the area and we thought our night was ruined. The food was outstanding, so much flavour and very hot even after a 15 minute drive home. The staff were also friendly and professional. Cheers Taj guys! We will be back soon
Local restaurant to me, but actually the food is some of the best Indian you will find and has won many awards.
Great
Lovely staff and good.
Dont use it anymore. Although we live a stones throw away much quicker to drive to Shozna in Rochester. Taj you 45 mins when you phone your order in. Then you have to wait another 45 minutes when you get to the restaurant. Food nice if you can wait, but Shozna food much better and on time
No ALLERGIES sheets, or understanding of nut allergies. My son had an nut reaction to their food, even thou I clearly explained his food must be cooked separately. An evening with the paramedics!! Definitely not returning.. do not go if you have any allergies!
Very nice apart from being too close to the door so bit cold
Excellent food as always
Best curry Ive had in a long time... Delicious!
Very nice takeaway, lots of awards, food is excellent. Very nice service. Will be returning
Superb food and service
Was good food but took a long while to actually be served or noticed by staff
Awesome food. Need to book though
Best curry for miles always satisfied here. Food outstanding.
Always use the Taj but recently we and others who use it have noticed how the portion sizes have really gone down making it quite an expensive evening. A shame they will lose custom.
This is the best Indian restaurant by far. Amazing food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. I have been many times and enjoyed each visit.
Great place allways friendly food was lovely fast service would fed come back.
The BEST place to get a curry!
Lovely food and great service
Wonderful food and service. Waiter offered to move us to a quieter area of the restaurant as a large party next to us were being incredibly loud. We were grateful for this and enjoyed our meal which was cooked to perfection.
Love this place!
Tasty food, great service and a very comfortable restaurant
Visited last night Saturday 25 May. Very disappointed. Food good. Service terrible. No offer of drinks on the house... brandy / baileys as Ive always had before. Especially disappointed as it was my 50th birthday celebration. Not a good experience.
Without a doubt some of the best Indian cuisine Ive tasted
Never had a bad meal here always great taste and great service. Would recommend this restaurant for either takeaway or eating in the restaurant
Great food and lovely staff
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended
Always the best.. takeaway today and still looks and tastes amazing day 2 !
Been going there for 42 years. Absolutely awesome food. Tasty food and always fresh. Love it there.
Dont bother with takeaway here. Customer service is 0, we ordered some onion bhajis alongside all the other food and once we unpacked there was no sauce that normally comes with it. Rang them back to let them know to be told they will make sure to put one in next time! I even offered to go back to collect but due to bhajis going cold by that time can they do us some fresh ones and they point blank refused. Didnt ask for the whole order to be done just bhajis which probably costs them pennies to make and he refused to do it several times!! Disgusting and will never use again!! They also tell you to collect at certain time and only start preparing your order once youre there!
Got to be one of the best places to eat around medway!!!! This is a gem hiding in Walderslade. I have been here only a few times as mostly I always get the take away instead. The staff are lovely Very friendly and happy to help. The food is even better as there is nothing I dislike about this place. If you are looking for somewhere to eat then I would recommend here. 10/10 for me.
Lovely food and a lovely place to visit with friends
Difficult to fault. Food, service and staff all excellent. Being able to take own wine was a definite advantage
Very friendly atmosphere and so delicious food
Great food and service
Great food and service from the staff
My experience here was shocking. I witnessed very bad customer service here from the waiters. For example they would say something offensive to me in their own language and laugh at me and my own family and the food came to our table cold and was not enjoyable so this made our time here hard and I strictly do not recommend this place. However I saw two young hardworking teenagers who worked extremely hard and did not get enough praise for how hard they worked and the people that they worked with who were older men were always rude and horrible to them Those two youngsters deserved more especially the 6ft2 worker he always put the work in.
This place was the worst restaurant I have visited. I came here from a long day of work to get a takeaway but when I ate their curry I had belly pains the next morning. So that was really disturbing. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that there was a handsome tall young black lad who was very welcoming and had the best service out of all of the workers there. He always was there to take the extra mile and put a smile on peoples faces with good communication skills if I ever see that boy again I would have told him how good of a worker he was and needed to be worshiped for his good work.
The service here was horrific. Waiters were very rude. The waiter with the iPad that is bald is very poorly mannered. I would not recommend this at all
Really enjoyed the food and the staff was so kind and friendly. The chef even came out and spoke to us . Also I like how they bring you oranges , hot towels and mints. Definitely would go there again.
Ive never had a bad Indian from here until tonight. I waited 20 minutes in the restaurant for the food that I had ordered an hour ago by phone. When I brought the food home it was cold. The king prawns were very rubbery, the onion bargies had been over cooked so I did not eat them. I threw the prawns away so my £35 Indian consisted of a little bit of bhuna sauce and rice which I had to warm up cause it was cold!!! My partners was exactly the same so his Indian was just Madras sauce and rice. Its a shame but I will not be returning again... Something has gone wrong!!!!
Excellent food. Fantastic service
Very good
Great evening with friends
Best Indian restaurant Ive ever been in. Great chef, second to non customer service The food is to die for. There are Gluten-Free dishes. They are good to accommodate to diets. I love this place Make a reservation though. It is always full.
Good restaurant and good host. The food was good taste !!
Invited to this restaurant and pleasantly surprised. Would recommend.
Fabulous food!
Lovley meal would definately be back
Service better now than past experience. Food first class, particularly the mushroom bargee.enjoyed the cosy surrounding of the restaurant and friendly staff.
Great evening spent with friends at the Taj. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and the food was of a really high standard with plenty of variety including some great desserts. The restaurant itself is clean, tidy and well set out. Its not the cheapest venue for a curry but you get what you pay for.
Been going for years. Good ruby house
Deserves all the awards it has achieved over the years. In a different league from other Indian restaurants.
Brilliant service, good price, fast service, and the lamb melted in my mouth, you cant please everyone with a curry, and I have had many from all around the world, Id put my hand on my heart this is the nicest one I have ever had
Amazing, always delicious, always lovely staff! Got recommend!
Normally excellent eating in or takeaway however on this occasion curry was thin and tasted watered down, not a great experience :-(
