On arrival everything was great, once ordered we waited around 45 minutes for our food to come out (there was only 2 of us) which is insane. We then had to send one meal back as we made a mistake and ordered the chicken tikka main not as a curry. After that the waiter was just straight up rude and made us feel very uncomfortable about it. He approached our table twice in a abrupt manor telling us to go and tell the boss that it was our mistake if not hes going to get sacked in his words, shaking his head at us and just really looked furious with us, mistakes happen and it was also an easy fix! We really didnt want to be there after that as we could tell he was treating us different to the rest. Food was nice but wouldnt visit again as the waiter put us off, wait time for food to come out.. oh AND £6 for a lemonade?! Crazy

We were given a new black bean dish to try today and it ended up being my favourite, even above the ones we selected ourselves (we like to share). It s a nice big space so we never feel squashed in. Myself and friends were visiting Chatham (from London Eastbourne, Reading and Aberdeen) to see around the Royal Naval Dockyard. We like Indian food. All of us said that it was one of the best Indian meals we have ever had and we are all in our 50s and 60s. Our compliments to the chefs. Service could have been slightly quicker but the food was excellent. Ambience is very nice too.

Having visited a fair few curry houses, this isnt one Id be rushing back to unfortunately. The food was ok. We did have to wait quite a bit of time for our starters and when they did arrive they were luke warm at best. However, the lamb tikka was the best of a bad bunch. The mains again were fine. Im not sure what it was missing, but something didnt quite taste right. One positive was at least mains were served at a more appropriate temperature and not cold like the starters. The restaurant is nice enough, but does feel like it could do with some TLC. The grey walls paired with the strange cold, clinical lighting set up did not do the space any favours. The lack of any diffused light meant the space was lit very strangely, this set a very uninviting vibe. I would suggest perhaps looking to move away from the downlights and introduce some warmer ambient lighting to make it feel a bit more cosy and less grey and bleak.

My fiance and I 1st tried a takeaway and we were so impressed by the quality of the food we decided to try a sit down meal the food was perfect the staff were friendly and conscientious without hovering the starters were delicious as were the mains and the food was all brought out with perfect timing we will definitely be going again as it was all perfect the ambience was lovely and relaxed I would rate this restaurant 10 out of 10 Although ther is no direct parking outside the restaurant there is a car park roughly a 5 min walk away up the hill behind gibralter House

Came here Saturday the restaurant was very busy waited a long time to get orders in, meals arrived all very tasteless overcooked and chicken was like rubber very dry, brought our breads out and the mains followed 8 minutes later so the breads were cold. One tiny salad to share between 3 main Tikkas. Wasn t asked how the food was or offered any more drinks. I asked to speak to management 3 times. Asked on leaving if it was all ok. I explained what has happened and he wasn t interested didn t say anything accept grumble. People behind me was also complaining about the chicken and apparently chicken in meant to be dry. Not really sure where they got this information from. All in all a very disappointing night here

I always come to the Sultan it s hands down the best curry house in the Medway towns. The food is out of this world the portions are massive so if I was you don t eat all day and save it for your meal here it will be worth it. I came here Monday for my usual madras but Abbu suggested I should try a new dish it s a new take on a tikka masala and I must say I m sold we tired a taster on Monday and here we are Wednesday having it as a main. Never been there before, our daughter booked as she lives nearby. Beautiful food, great staff, a complimentary drink offered. Will definitely return if in Chatham again soon. £90 between four of us, AND when the bill arrived it had a split between 4 figure on it also even though we didnt ask for it. V helpful.

Literally just got home from a Valentines meal. I need to thank this restaurant for the amazing service and great food. We will definitely be back. Parking: Not a problem parking as car park behind restaurant. You do have to pay in car park.

Fantastic good food, good service the first evening. The waiter we had the other night was noticeably annoyed that we didnt want dessert. The purple cloth on our away was quickly ripped away once we had paid, exposing this cloth underneath. It makes one think about the hygiene of the restaurant in general

Had an evening meal here with 3 work colleagues. All chose something different from a fairly extensive menu. Serviceve was attentive and professional. Waiter gave good advice on what to select as suitable accomaniment to mains. I had a keralan fish curry with a lemon rice which was a first for me. Delicious. Food

We ve used this restaurant several times for takeaway delivery. The food has always been delicious. However tonight they let us down , they took my order online . An hour later no delivery . I rang several times talking to someone different each time. .I was told that the delivery was in transit . 45 mins later still no delivery . Rang again after a ridiculous conversation I was told the food hadn t even been cooked ! I told them to cancel the order and refund my money Appalling customer service being lied to and told delivery was in the way when it wasn t even cooked . No apology from restaurant We won t be using the restaurant again

So disappointed after having lovely take outs went for a meal for a birthday. After over 2 hours waiting less than half of our party served, other half had finished eating before ours came to the table. This was after asking where our food was. Can t even say the food was nice after the long wait! Had to send several dishes back as they was cold the only thing that was hot was the bowl. Avoid at all costs stick to shozna. Complain and they start stripping your tables whilst you re still seated. I hope the owner of this restaurant takes a look at these reviews,I can see we re not the only ones with this kind of experience. Save yourself some money get a microwave curry from Asda you will be more satisfied.

Dined here this week- though the ambience was good and the restaurant was large compared to similar Indian restaurants the food is just not worth the high prices mentioned on the menu and the quantity of each dish being absolutely minimal! One of the special dishes we ordered were Karachi Mughal Special which was priced at £14.90 and was supposed to be a combination of chicken, minced lamb and king prawn- little did we realise that they literally meant 1 king prawn along with 3 pieces of chicken with some minced lamb served in a metal dish almost the same size as my daughters kitchen set bowl. The Tandoori mixed grill again not worth the price (£15.90) given the small quantity of 1 small chicken leg, 3 small pieces of lamb and 3-4 pieces of chicken, the price could be lowered or the quantity slightly increased to justify this. Instead they generously garnished it with peppers and onion which me and my kids didn t like- would have rather ordered a veg dish instead. The stuffed rotis also lacked meat in them as we ordered the keema and tikka rotis. . Other similar rated Indian restaurants in the area probably do serve more quantity for a lesser price and taste. Overall the taste was just ok but not great with price and quantity being a big negative. Request them to serve in slightly bigger bowls whilst preserving authenticity. Definitely will not be motivated to visit again as i don t think it s worth the bill.

Food was OK when it eventually came - booked a table for 8 then food arrived about 10 (papadums and a main course for 4), was asked several times in that period for more drinks (a cynic would say a deliberate ploy...). Would I go back? - dont think so.

What a wonderful gem this is. Got to say by far this is the best Indian restaurant in Medway. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. The staff are amazing and knowledgeable and will go above and beyond. You are not rushed in the slightest and the food is without doubt worth the wait. I ve been here for small and intimate as well as very large family occasions. Mediocre and this was mainly due to large table which was excessively noisy and being so close to our table meant it was very difficult to hold a conversation or hear each other. Service was incredibly slow Air con made it very cold but when turned off became quite oppressive - no happy medium unfortunately Staff were quite difficult when it came to paying. People wanted to pay their individual bill but they wanted us to pay one lump sum No baby change facilities - had to change tiny babies on toilet floor, no bin for dirty nappies Quite disconcerting that random guests from hotel just wander in and our of the restaurant Overall pretty disappointing and I will not be rushing to return

The food here is amazing , great atmosphere and service , the reason I have only gave 3 stars is my night was let down by the absolutely shocking price of soft drinks here. My wife and I had 3 pints of diet cokes which came to £17.70. The menu just states glass of for 2.95 which I presume they double and placed in 1 glass slightly miss leading in my opinion. No one in their right mind would pay £5.90 for a pint of Diet Coke I don t think you would pay that in central london. Some of the pints of lager were the same price. Great place but I think they need to have a look at the disproportionate soft drink prices.

What a disgusting experience with the manager yesterday evening. The disrespect and disregard of children was shocking. He had issues with a child making sounds as all parents would know, babies do that! The food was oily, and they had animals running around the restaurant (RATS) a whole generation of them. Food and drinks were still paid for. But honestly, I wouldnt recommend going to this place. The service and manager, ESPECIALLY, are vile. I wouldnt want to have a look at the kitchen if the seating area was the way it was. ABSOLUTELY DISSATISFIED & DISAPPOINTED

I recently dined at the sultan restaurant , and I must say it was a delightful experience. The cozy atmosphere provided a warm and inviting setting for our gathering. The food was excellent, and my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Excellent, 100% coming back enjoyed a variety of curry s freshly cooked with mouthwatering flavours.

My wife and I tried the Sultan take away for the first time and found that the food was beautiful the delivery was within the allotted time given my wife had the King prawn dhansak and I the chicken Tikka Masala the only criticism we had was with our meal we ordered the fruit Nan (we normally have the pashwari nann) and found it was very sloppy and made the Nann too soggy so wouldnt order that again but it didnt spoil our meal and as we have regular currys we have found our place thank you Tony

I have always used the sultan to eat in and takeaways and even recommend it to many friends until tonight took 2 hours for our food to arrive was luke warm and disgusting never ever thought I would say it totally disappointed

We turned up and the customer service was terrible we ordered starters and they took 30 minutes to turn up and when the main food finally turned up there was hardly any meat. Vindaloo was fully of potatoes and all the other currys were full of tomatoes and onions and when we questioned them about it they didnt care and were so rude

One of the absolute best Indian restaurants Ive been to in a long time. The food is delicious and the service is second to none. Vegetarian options: There are quite a few vegetarian options including curries with Quorn options instead of meat. Dietary restrictions: We requested adjusted ingredients due to allergies and suggestions and substitutions were made Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on one level and the toilets are not up or down any steps

We came here on Saturday, the 10th of December for a birthday We were in the restaurant for a hour and a half before we received our food and when it came out it was cold and I don t mean just my dish I mean my whole parties dishes were all cold after speaking to someone they said they would go and do it all fresh about five minutes went bye, and they brought all the food back out we asked the guy have you re-done that fresh his reply was shocking. No we warmed it up in the microwave oven honestly do not go get a takeaway absolute rip-off

We waited 2:45hr for the food to be delivered (on a Wednesday!), and when it came it was stone cold! After 1hr we called and was told that it would be 10-15 minutes as the driver was stuck in traffic, and at 2:15 we were told again the driver would be 10 minutes as there is only one driver. Such a shame.
