Great dinner and great service.

Excellent atmosphere and service, expensive but worth it. I didnt love the lasagna as the sauce was a bit bitter for my taste but I would gg back and try another dish.

Went for lunch at 11:40. No signs to say where to go in. Went to the front door it was locked. Went around to the back and everything was locked and it was a mess back there. Someone had come to the back door and we asked if they were open and he said let me check. Went back inside and came out with a cook said they were open but seemed very confused on whether or not they were open. Yet the front door remained locked. My first time going to try it there, never got inside. Will never go back.

I am from out of town, but have lunched here two times this summer. The food is fabulous. The service is great. The views are outstanding. This is a very good restaurant.

Great place for groups of people.

By far the best hidden gem in Chatham Kid-friendliness: Brought my 7 year old for a night out with us, the look on his face when 2 giant lobster tails came out was absolutely amazing. The waitress Glennis, she holds this place together. We always have her as our waitress, and we visit regularly. She always goes above and beyond to make it a great dinner.

The restaurant is beautiful, and its a beautiful location. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. My waitress was simply awesome, smart and kind. She was welcoming and exceeded my expectations. The food. Ok ...First let me say the items on the menu were a good mix. The menu had a decent selection and there is something for everyone. I ordered the famous seafood enchilada. When you advertise scallops, shrimp, and crab in a dish it should actually contain all three. Disappointed that the crab was imitation crab actually Pollock. The shrimp and scallops were overcooked and rubbery. Now to be fair the rest of the meal was very good and well cooked. Mind you the green beans had no flavor but were cooked perfectly. The potatoes were wonderful and seasoned perfectly. The salad was very tasty. The wine selection was mediocre and could be updated. Most of the wines were old favorites and not really atune to current selections of today. The place has an old Savanah Georgia feel and vibe which I adore. I understand the owners are from the original Thames Bistro. Which I loved back in the day. So maybe I will mark it down to an off night and try again ...another day. Regardless I still think this is one of the better restaurants in Chatham and will still recommend it.

We had a lovely time lunching on the patio. Although it was a beautiful day all patrons ate inside so we had the patio to ourselves. With a view of the river, a pond where goslings were playing, and a waterfall with frogs to entertain us, we took our time enjoying the peaceful tranquility that surrounded us. The food was well-cooked and flavorful. All in all it was a great experience

Went here yesterday for our one year anniversary. The food was excellent, our waitress was so kind and the view of the Thames was spectacular. Will definitely be coming back again.

In terms of top of the line restaurants that Chatham has to offer, not many come close. Good food, good service and good location. If its a beautiful day... Went not sit outside. No matter what, youll get great quality!

Food was excellent, waiter was very friendly and accommodating, took out photo outside on the patio. Well worth the cost! Would and will return. Asked for a seat overlooking patio and got it. Took guest from out of town and she was very happy with the experience. Parking: The restaurant was very busy but no problem finding place to park

Took my Mom here for dinner. Service was great very friendly. Food was ok. Lacked flavor not bad just a little bland.

We had a reservation for 6:30 on the Saturday of Mothers Day weekend. We arrived five minutes early, and there were 2 people ahead of us waiting. They do not seem to have a hostess. After about 15 minutes, a server came to us, no greeting, and said Do you have a reservation?, which we did. She said they were just setting our table. We sat beside the fireplace and because it was freezing, and I was asked by my 84 year old mom to retrieve her coat because it was freezing, we asked our server if she could turn the fireplace on. She said no. She then said someone had complained it was too hot. Okay! We ordered a bottle of wine, which she brought but didnt pour. When I reached for the bottle she said Ill do that. I only have two hands you know. The service basically went downhill from there. The server got my sisters order wrong, so she had to wait an additional 15 minutes to get her food, and by that point we were done our meals while she had just started hers. They took no money off our bill for their mistake, or offered my sister anything to make up for the mistake. The atmosphere was okay, but way too noisy and our server was rude. The food was good, but not good enough to make up for our server. You need a hostess to organize better, and even though we all understand jobs are busy at times, you dont need to take it out on your customers.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!! I called to make a reservation for a certain table in the left corner. It was for 5 people. I was so happy telling my family about how I picked the perfect spot. When we arrived the only table that was occupied was the table I reserved. I was not pleased and questioned the waitresses that were there. I felt that shorter one with dark hair got her feathers ruffled and ended up walking away from me. They said that the table I wanted can only seat 4 people. They then threw the owner under the bus and said I must of been speaking to her. I questioned why when I asked for the table why I wasn t told by the owner that this table could only fit 4 people but she could seat us at the table behind that one or even suggest another spot. They said I would have to take it up with her. So I hope the manager will see this BAD review and see things straight. Was it that she didn t listen to me or did she simply NOT CARE. I should have walked out but I thought that I would be the bigger person. P. S. I know that most will say it s just a table but it s more than that it s about attentive listening, customer service and communication. If I was a business owner I would want to avoid any bad reviews. And this was avoidable.

Delicious food, great service. We were a group of 12, the service was attentive, and l heard no complaints about our meals. My first visit to this restaurant and l must say, l will be returning.

Service was not smooth at all, appetizers were 15 mins ahead of Ceasar salads best described as prepped with dressing on Friday, served to us on Sunday. Ignorant table in the centre of room was very loud, and waiting staff only encouraged them. Had better from this resturant. Drove better then an hour to get there, and were sadly disappointed.

This restaurant is so beautiful! Their menu is amazing! We wanted to try everything! The view of the river is nice. Very fast service as well. The staff are great! This was our 1st time there, but definitely not our last! Food was delicious! Food

I have been remiss in submitting my experiences here.... we have done takeout a couple of times and have been very happy. food is fresh, hot and tasty. yesterday we enjoyed the chicken parm and grouper. the staff were all friendly, interactive and efficient. thank you cozy atmosphere, good service, friendly staff, nice menu selections, have never had a bad meal

Our meals were all excellent. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Really enjoyed the lobster tails!

We visited Canada from the US last weekend and had an overall nice experience with a beautiful river view, the only question I have is why not play soft music in the background

This is an updated review post-CoVid. Highly recommended restaurant. One of only a few top dining locations in the Chatham area. Food & Service are excellent. Highly recommend reservations for a table near the windows or at least on the bottom level. Top level seating has a poor view with too much traffic. Two very nice private rooms for small gatherings. The garlicy shrimp appetizer is amazing!

Today we enjoyed a beautiful lunch with family the food was hot beautiful presentation service was outstanding!! It s been a while since I was served delicious food hot and had a waitress that was attentive. Had the Pinot Grigio was ful of flavours. Cost of food was so reason not something we see often in the restaurant business these days. Would definitely go back and bring my friends love the atmosphere and view was nice. We had a group of 8 dinner last night at Casa Bella and it was superb! The private room for groups was so nice... felt like we were in someones home. Food was absolutely divine (we all had something different and they were all excellent). Service great (we asked to change rooms at the last minute and they were so helpful). Thank you Casa Bella! We will be coming again soon.

Food was too salty to eat. When the waitress took away my untouched food she didnt bother to ask why my plate was still full.

We had a party of 16, all of our meals came out hot and fresh... I was actually surprised. The chicken and squash soup was very good. The complimentary bread is best thing they offer. I ordered the peppercorn steak and was not impressed. It tasted good but for the price it seemed like I could get the same quality and flavor of steak from a local establishment for $20 or less. Usually a peppercorn steak does not have just your average bbq sauce thrown on it. They did not offer much for kids, chicken fingers and pasta seemed like the go to.

The food is great and ambience is reaal good since its by the water. Would be great to eat at their patio during the summer evenings.

What a beautiful setting and the food!!! Absolutely fantastic!! This was my second visit & I will definitely make the hour drive again! This was the 12oz sirloin topped with shrimp,scallops and crab with a Neptune sauce! Cooked to perfection!!

My husband and I went here tonight for our 41st wedding anniversary dinner as our old favourite restaurant no longer exists. Well to say the least we have found our new Anniversary dining spot. The food was out of this world delicious. The service was amazing and courteous. You cant beat the price way below what you would expect for the absolute quality and presentation of the food. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. So glad we found this restaurant. I recommend it to go any time. Its casual fine dining at its best.

Food was beyond expectations

I had the veal parmesan and my wife had the coconut crusted grouper both were fantastic. The breads,soup and salads were very tasty, I would recommend this restaurant to my friends

Charming, tasty and abundant!

We were so pleased to get Casa Bella as our wedding caterer. The food they served was absolutely amazing, surpassing our highest expectations. Our guests could not stop raving about the quality of the beef tenderloin medallions or stuffed chicken (you know the beef is cooked perfectly if you didnt even need a steak knife). The desserts were the perfect way to cap off the meal and were beautifully presented. We highly recommend them for their top-notch food, service and excellent value for money.

I would give one star But it seems youre not taken seriously if you do so here we go. Chef ramsay really needs to pay this place a visit. The atmosphere was not welcoming, no signs directing which door to use, it was a little confusing, the restaurant was dusty, smelly, gum under table, the food was mediocre, the utensils and dishes were dirty, our salad was old Limpy and gross, I had chunks of unmelted cream cheese in my white sauce, couldnt eat my meal, We went for our anniversary and I was so upset I was speechless, so, I wont be going back, does Not meet expectation Do better, people pay a lot of money to have a nice experience, you should be ashamed or embarrassed

Truly a hidden gem. Situated along the scenic Thames river, you can enjoy and excellent meal and atmosphere all while being serviced by caring and attentive staff. From the moment you walk in you get that warm feeling of home. No matter the weather you can claim your special place to sit back, have a great customer experience and enjoy the view. My favourite is the veal parm, a must try.

Disappointed. At first glance, Casa Bella may present itself as an Italian restaurant, what with the name, the menu featuring many Italian options, and the sign featuring a gondola out in front. Dont be fooled. While they possess the name, the signage and menu, it lacks the character and authenticity one might expect at first glance. Pro: The food was good. They had a high chair for my 3 year old. The view of the river was pleasant. Con: Laminated menus needed to be wiped down. No music. Took quite a long time to get our food. We were a party of 7, including 4 adults, two kids(10 and 13) and a toddler. The people seated beside us arrived and ordered after we did, but got their food at least 10 mins before us - they seemed to know one of the waitresses well. Not sure if this is why our food was delayed? The two blonde waitresses who were working when we visited werent very attentive or pleasant. Obviously didnt help with lack of Italian atmosphere, pronouncing it pAsta (with a hard a). No kids menu, however when I asked they verbally advised me that what they usually do is offer some chicken fingers or pasta with butter or whatever sauce. If this is what you usually do why not just whip up a kids menu and put it in writing so we dont my feel like were being accommodated? You had the high chair available? Do you accommodate families, or no? Also, what Italian restaurant doesnt have a regular pasta and meatballs dish on the menu?? Thinking (based on what was presented on the outside) I was going to an Italian restaurant, my plan was to just order a couple of meatballs for my 3 year old to enjoy (and he was looking forward to it) - well, werent we surprised to be told that they dont have ANY meatballs! They were quick to offer fresh ground pepper after serving entrees - but I had to ask for cheese. I was brought out a small plastic container of powdered parmeasean. Once again, what Italian restaurant doesnt offer fresh grated parmesan?? My mother-in-law graciously brought us to this restaurant bc she had enjoyed it on previous occasions however even she was disappointed with the service, stating that she hadnt ever encountered these two servers who were working. My generous mil also paid for our meal, and the server helping us with payment at the table clumsily read out the total cost of our meal as she typed it onto the payment machine. This restaurant has major potential, with a bit of improvement to service and authenticity.

the waitress was awesome super nice i sadly didn t catch her name but every other person there was very rude and ignorant they were mad about the amount we were tipping and being very greedy and snobby they also were very upset that we had some last minute cancellation and wanted us to pay extra even tho they filled the table that we didn t use over all not a great experience if your going with a group i would not recommend

Nice spot on the Thames. It is inside an old Victorian, when you go inside keep walking there will be a hostess spot in a main area to wait for a table. Always best to make reservations. The food was excellent and well priced for their portion sizes. Service was friendly and fast

Ordered 3 Thai chicken salads for take out. Flavour is good but could use improvement in takeout etiquette. All the salads came with dressing mixed in it already (dressing should always be on the side for takeout) so the bottom was soggy. The hot chicken should be wrapped in tin foil to keep warm, not set directly in the salad which made the salad underneath quite unpleasant. The olive bread that comes with it is good.

We enjoyed a very tasty dinner. My husband had the lobster tails and I enjoyed the cheesy ravioli in blush sauce. Service was great. We also shared a delicious caramel apple Cheesecake dessert.

It was just ok. Halibut was so fishy which halibut should not be. The jumbo shrimp that came with it were not jumbo at all . very small

I had the pleasure of trying their food this weekend at a wedding they catered. The appetizers were all delicious, but my favourite was the meatballs, the girls and I probably had 6-10 each because they were that delicious. The main course came with a garden salad with a raspberry vinaigrette, steamed vegetables and roasted potatoes. I chose the chicken, but there was also beef. The chicken was breaded, topped in a cream sauce and stuffed with a cheese. The dinner was also served with the most delicious dinner roll/bun I have ever had. It had lots of seeds on it and tasted so fresh. Considering them as a caterer for my own wedding

Ordered the veal scallopini. It wasn t scallopini. It was a breaded veal cutlet. Pounded to dead with a meat tenderizer. Covered is a soupy mixture of cheese, brown gravy from a mix and off tasting mushrooms. Truly not worth $27. Will not return unless it is to just drink wine on the patio.

Our second time at this restaurant. A very nice place for fine dining at very reasonable prices. Food arrives piping hot...veggies tender crisp. This place ranks the best for us in Chatham. Nice atmosphere..excellent service.

I just photographed a wedding at Casa Bella and the staff, drinks, services and work was absolutely exceptional. They had multiple options for food and every dish was delicious. I was obsessed with a raspberry chocolate drink they made for the event. Even with some bumps the staff were there for everyone and stayed aware of drinks, food, cleaning and needs. I was blown away! I can t wait to work with them again through Cochrane Photography.

Amazing food and atmosphere service to match!

We go atleast once a month for Date night. Tonight July 29th went for first Date night after newborn and very unhappy. It was very busy Ill admit but waited about an hour for main course and then received a rare( if not blue) steak when I requested medium rare and by time I got it back wife was almost done her meal, granted the owner bought me a drink. Unfortunately Im hungry and one of our favorite Date spots now left us with a bad feeling and before we would recommend everyone we know to go there..

Second time going here. The first time was beyond great. The food and service the second time werent up to the standards from the first time. Great venue with amazing ambiance but our server was rude and the food was too salty the second time.

Great Italian cuisine...healthy portions...excellent food

We had a dinner here for 5 people to celebrate birthdays. It was absolutely fabulous. From the bread basket to start right through to the specialty coffees to finish. All of us enjoyed every aspect of our meal, the atmosphere and our amazing waitress. We will definitely be back.

Food is great. Staff was a little rushed may have been short staffed. Once you got her full attention she was great. It has a great view but gets quite loud when busy.

Highly recommend from the delicious food to the customer service, we were so happy with our New Year s Eve meal. My partner said his New York steak was cooked perfectly and he never says that! I would 100% come back again.

My husband and i ordered take out last night. We had the halibut and shrimp dinner. Came with green beans, carrots, mini potatoes, bread, salad and the halibut and shrimp. Every item was PERFECT!!!! So good. We live 20 min. From Casa Bella. Next time (and there definitely will be many next times) we will bring a thermal bag. The food was a little cold but ooooh sooooo yummy anyway!!!

The atmosphere is intimate with beautiful views of the Thames River. And the food - INCREDIBLE! The wait staff is friendly. We have dined inside and out and we have never been disappointed. Casa Bella also carries a selection of local beers (and CK has some of the best beers around). This place is a gem! For anyone who hasnt been, you really should go!

Restaurant is right off of Thames River. I sat at a table looking out at the lake. Very picturesque. Service was quick and the waitress was friendly and easy to talk to. I ordered the salmon and it was delicious! Id love to go back when the pandemic is over or when Im back in Chatham. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent food, amazing customer service and the view is gorgeous.

We had a lovely dinner at Casa Bella. I had the ravioli, stuffed with cheese in a blush sauce. Delicious! My husband had the strip steak with Neptune sauce. We finished with the Carmel apple cheesecake. Everything was wonderful. Due to the Covid restrictions we were only able to eat on the patio. Unfortunately many weather systems came through with lots of rain. Our poor server continued on quite wet...thanks for taking such good care. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed a fabulous lunch indoors. Everything was spot on from the service to the food. Our meals were served quickly and very well presented. It was delicious, I would not change a thing and we cant wait to return and try out the beautiful patio. The menu selection was excellent and the prices were as well.

We decided for dinner here since we havnt been in a few yrs.. steak was as rare as raw ...was to be medium ....wife had a fish plate that was the consistency of rubber .....couple three small potatoes chopped in half.. carrots some beans thats it ..Very disappointed for 100 plus tip..other than patio veiw I would not recommend

Took my girlfriend and her friends out to dinner. Had a reservation at 6, and they just, lost it? Got a table after about ten minutes, 20 minutes later got our drink orders in. Put in our food order. Took about 45 minutes before the food was ready and that entire 45 minutes not a single person asked if we wanted another drink. Mine was done after the first 10 minutes. I wouldve gladly had another 5 drinks throughout the night. Oh well. I got the fillet mignon and she got a 12 oz new york. Mine was medium well and hers was well done. Barely any juice left. No flavour. And we ordered it to be medium rare! An hour and 45 minutes total to get our food from sitting down to eating. Only reason we didnt send it back is because we didnt want to double our time spent there. If it was actually busy there, Id bump it up to 2 stars. Worst $250 plus TIP Ive ever spent in my life. And Ive bought a lot of stupid stuff

The food here is amazing, the staff is friendly, the restatement is an older building but very well kept and clean. Overall its a great experience, especially in nice weather out in the patio overlooking the river.

So many good things about this place. Love the location, historic house and the view of the river. The room is nice (not too sure about black table linens however) and service was good. Some of the food was tasty but every dish needed improvements. Bread was par baked but hand just been warmed not baked so it was insipid white. Lamb ordered medium rare came medium well. It was tender and tasty but the accompanying sauce was like honey, a rather odd thing with lamb. Veal Neptune was tender and absolutely swimming in too much sauce (that was also tasty) and tiny scallops. Both dishes needed salt. We saw the grouper served to a neighboring table and it was one smallish piece of very thin fried fish. So, it was okay but needing refinement in the kitchen to be called fine dining and meet the $30+ a plate price point.

We have always been pleased with the service and the quality of the food at Casa Bella. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about their catering service. I recently contacted them by phone/Messenger to discuss catering a private function. I was asked to call back the following day, prior to opening, and speak to Lydija. When I contacted Lydija she was quite annoyed and rather abrupt. She expressed her frustration that somebody told you to call now?? . She indicated that she was on her way out the door and was not able to speak to me. She asked for my telephone number and stated that she would call me back. That was 10 days ago. Never heard back from her. Needless to say I have taken my business elsewhere.

Dont usually order s fish entree, but did as several friends recommended. I was pleasantly impressed. Excellent! Service, as always awesome.

We came out for dinner tonight as a table of 10, I ordered the halibut and jumbo shrimp. First, the shrimp were clearly the very tiny frozen shrimp, nothing jumbo about them, largely flavorless as well. The worst part was the Halibut, which smelled and tasted as if it was spoiled, it was extremely fishy, and Im a seafood lover.... When I told the waitress she said nothing, no apology and no resolution, and still charged us full price for the horrendous meal. I will not be coming back, mediocre food at a price point that it doesnt deserve. Avoid this place.

Great atmosphere

Definitly our favourite place. Great atmosphere and excellent service. I have enjoyed the food on many occasions and prices are reasonable for the quality of meal.

First time eating from Casa Bella. Had a turkey and all the fixings take out. The presentation was neat, and the portions are a great size! The turkey, stuffing and potatoes were quite salty, and I felt like the potatoes were some sort of instant mash by the chewy, clumpy sections throughout that made it look like it was not stirred thoroughly. It was just okay.
