Classic Italian dishes served in a warm, traditional environment with an outdoor patio.
First time to Chatham and celebrating a birthday with a group of seven. We were very impressed with the atmosphere and service. Mike our server made a special effort to welcome and attended to every need. He knew the menu well and made some great suggestions like to pizza divola with goat cheese added and the blackened salmon special. The apps were over $15 and large portions with the flat bread app being the favourite. The chicken parm and veal scallopini with mushrooms was very good. Would like to have tried the Ribeye special or Lamb Wellington, but it was a bit pricy at $72. The entrees were over $30 each but the portions were large and it included a choice of soup or salad also large. Bread and whipped cream butter accompanied the meal as well as a selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegar if you like to dip your bread or use it on your house salad. The desserts were a big ok. The crème brill and ice cream crepes were good The cheese cake sand cannolis were not that special but nice portions. The pizza selection was impressive at mid $20 range and you could customize them with gourmet toppings like goat cheese and arugula. One pizza was more than enough for two people and really loaded quality ingredients. Overall we really enjoyed our experience here and I personally would come back for the Ribeye special someday. I liked the variety and selection of menu items. The pricing options were high but great value in the large portions as long as you are hungry.
The Good: Excellent service! The hostess and our server were excellent. Super friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and attentive. We couldn't have had any better than them. The food was amazing! We ordered a top sirloin steak, honey salmon and seafood spaghetti. Mouthwatering flavors, tender, juicy, WoW! The Not so Good: The interior is very nicely decorated, however, there's a lot of stone and brick, so all the sounds and voices really resonate and seem to get louder and louder. Aside from that, this is a restaurant I would highly recommend! (Keep in mind, we ordered three entrees and three colas + tip = $180) This is an upscale restaurant locally and priced as such, but definitely worth it!!!
**Amazing Experience at Mama Maria’s!** I recently visited Mama Maria’s and had an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish cooked to perfection. What really made the night special was our waiter, Mike. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, providing service that felt incredibly personal and attentive. His recommendations were spot on, and he made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and exceptional service!
I've seen this restaurant and I was curious every time I walk by. So I popped in, went to the bar. Had some water, tried two new drinks, yummy italian soup and decided to treat myself with the salmon special. Delicious!!! 😋🤤 Maybe I'll treat myself again in another blue moon
For some reason my camera didn't capture the rays of light and angelic music coming from that sandwich. It made me a better person when I finished it. But seriously, Mamma Maria's is a hidden gem. Excellent service and justified prices. The food is feniminal. The hour drive to get here is more than worth it for us.
Best Italian restaurant in Chatham,Ontario. Went there for my anniversary dinner and they offered a free dessert for us. The food and service was just of the world
Fantastic experience, great service, lovely ambiance the interior decor takes you back to the roots, patio is wonderful! Above all we tried several dishes and all of them lip smacking good! Delicious is an understatement 😋
Hands down one of the top 5 places in town to go to for an amazing dinner. We have spent countless of birthdays & celebrations here along with our typical lunch or dinner dining. This place never disappoints. The food & atmosphere are amazing. They have the most incredible drinks & service. I can’t say enough good things. I’ll post lots of pictures of lunch/dinner specials as well as lots of their staple items. My go to drink is always the salamander, which I frequently make at home since I found out how to make it! Go to appetizer is the Mozza balls. Go to main is anything with their truffle cream sauce. Ie the truffle manzo pasta or pizza!!! Both are unreal. I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad meal at this place. Right down to the cheapest item which is the panzerotti is just amazing! Highly recommend for any date night, special occasions, family dinner or even ordering out from their family pasta menu. It’s all a solid 10.
Absolutely incredible!!! A beautiful restaurant inside - it feels like you ve stepped into Italy! Our waitress was absolutely amazing, I cannot remember her name but she was very friendly, very personable, very knowledgeable, and checked in on us consistently through our night! The food was absolutely wonderful - I had the featured chicken, everyone in my party had something different to eat and everyone absolutely loved their food! This will definitely be a new go to spot!!
The food was great the service was great
The food is so delicious
Great dinner on the river patio.
Truly the best Canadian pizza I have ever had! The staff was amazing! A true gem for Chatham Kent!
Dinner was delicious. Service was excellent. I love their veal parmigiana!
Order the spaghetti with meat sauce, it was awful. Will never eat there again
Excellent service, the food was very enjoyable, and tasted great. I would definitely go again.
Amazing restaurant, super tasty food and wonderful attentive staff. Love it
Was there for lunch with my wife and mother- in- law. Outstanding place to dine! 5 Star baby!!! Great food & service. We will be back! Felt like I was in Italy! Parking: Wont go home hungry! Ordered another 2 Italy Potatoe Soups to go...SO!!!!!!Good.
Always a welcoming place, the staff are extremely friendly. The atmosphere draws you in. As for the food, it is top quality. After experiencing most restaurants in the local area, this one is my favourite.
Big piece of chicken in the Chicken Parm
Top tier spot in CK, get your steak Chicago style, enjoy some mozzarella balls and Arancini, wine, excellent wait staff, the list goes on.
Amazing experience. The staff here really know how to run a restaurant. Flawless dinner service. Food was top notch. Definitely will be returning when in the area!
Fantastic food and service. Great selection of authentic Italian food. It s a must to checkout
Vegetarian options: You can customize your own meal, which for me is very good. Dietary restrictions: Same as above Kid-friendliness: There are tables for families with kids and for fewer people. Wheelchair accessibility: Those with wheelchairs can easily fit in
Service was fantastic as well as the food! I forgot my food in a takeout box and left. Our waiter Mike noticed and stopped us if front of the restaurant. Thanx for a great evening and going beyond to bring out the leftovers Mike!
Food is good and the place is clean
First time at this restaurant and everything was amazing from the time we were greeted and escorted to our table, the server she was in training and very pleasant and explained all the specials and was very attentive to our needs and requests, the food was fantastic and I ordered the 10 oz steak and was cooked perfectly the way I like. I will definitely be recommending and going back when I m the Chatham area again. Also great atmosphere and clean restaurant.
Vegetarian options: Pasta was yummy Food
Been a favourite place to dine for years. Food is always great.
The staff! 5 stars. The food is excellent, atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. The staff, second to none. Kari took care of our large group this evening and was exceptional!
Mike was an awesome server very knowledgeable of the meals and suggestions of gluten free meals. He s very personable. The four of us really enjoyed our meals and servings were a good size. Dietary restrictions: Just about anything can be made gluten-free and they have gluten-free pizza crust
Went for our anniversary. Had a great time. Pizza was delicious. Lavender lemonade cocktail was great.
The restaurant space is nice, our server was pleasant and efficient, but there are no plant-based options anywhere on the menu for someone like me who is vegan.
Espresso martini and Fig flatbread was 10/10. Michael our server was also amazing ! Will be coming back the next time I m in Chatham !
If you are near Chatham, dont miss out on the best Italian restaurant in Ontario. Dinner special was spectacular.
Very good flavor!! Great spot on back patio to enjoy lunch. Definitely will return.
Lemon martini was delicious. Food was very good. Service was good. Prices were steep for pizza and pasta. Id say $7 to $8 more for the same dish in Windsor. Service was a bit slow.
The food and service are both excellent
The service i received their was very nice and and we didnt have to wait long for service Thankyou for the wonderful dinner..
Great place. Excellent food. Good portions. Friendly wait staff. Would go back again.
The perch dinner is likely the best perch dinner I have ever had. Not only that the tarter sauce is absolutely amazing. Will definetly be returning. Also the waitress was amazing, very friendly and helpful.
After just a couple trips to Mama s, you ll feel like you re amongst family. From the owner on down, very special staff. The food and experience is elite. Cemented as a top restaurant in the county for a long time now. (Restaurants often charge extra for salad and do not provide bread. It s all included at Mamas!) Enjoy!
This is my go to spot for delicious food always good.
Delicious food and comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. Would highly recommend
We really enjoyed the service, the food & the atmosphere. It is quite expensive, so plan for that. $30+/ plate. The drinks $11+/ drink. We didnt try dessert but they sounded great too! The portions are quite large, so perhaps two meals in one makes it more affordable :) The walnut & feta? Salad was amazing, as was the steak & truffle pasta... lasagna also delicious!
Keg was our guide for this dinner. He was fabulous. He didnt write anything down but has a memory like a steel trap. He was such a friendly young man. He made great recommendations for wine and they have a lovely wine list. I didnt give them a 5 star on the food because my Chicken Parm was quite rubbery - but everyone else at the table very much enjoyed their panzerottis and pizzas. Fresh bread that is warm and real butter were definitely appreciated. Quaint and interestingly decorated made you feel like you were in Little Italy . Thanks Keg for making our dinner so memorable.
What a place. The service is only matched by the extreme quality of their food. Well worth checking out
Beautiful Italian restaurant with tasty food. Gluten free pasta available! Able to easily accomodate someone with gluten, egg, dairy restrictions. Dietary restrictions: Able to easily accomodate someone with gluten, egg, dairy restrictions.
My wife and I came in for my Birthday dinner today all I can say is WOW! Our meal was absolutely delicious and our server Mike was top notch!! Thank you for the AMAZING experience and happy belated birthday Mike! We will definitely be back!! Love this place!!!
We brought our 6 month old so that is always an ordeal. Mamma Marias was reasonably accommodating although a table away from the main path would have been better. The braised short rib with Parmesan risotto took me to nostalgic places in my mind that left me utterly satisfied. I cant recommend it enough. Parking: Plenty of parking, tricky for our of town visitors. Kid-friendliness: Theres a kids menu
Beautiful restaurant.....amazing service.....
Excellent experience! Amazing food and service. Love the decor, themed after a piazza in Italy. Its very cute and tastefully done, not tacky. The caprese salad was soooo yum. Hubby had the veal parm and practically licked his plate it was so good. Definitely coming back.
I ordered veal parm. The veal was a fatty chewy thing. The spaghetti was really under cooked. I don t mean el senate I mean very firm. This is an Italian place ya? And it was not very busy but pretty noisy.
The food was very good, but a little pricey
Great selection of Italian food and servings are large. Super service !!
Hello, my devoted eaters and readers, let s take a deep dive. First of all, thousand thanks to Mr. Sisnik to give my spouse and I the best table by the window. Given the fact it was a full house and he went out of his way for us to sit next to each other. Okay here s the thing, I believe exceptional work by people that work their tails off needs to be mentioned. Thank you Don Marie, you took our order with such grace and took care of us with dignity! You are an asset to this institution, kudos to Mr. Sisnik seeing your worth and talent. Two, when I lived in Chatham in 2003, there was not a lot of haute cuisine restaurants in town and the moment I sat down I did not have any pre-conceive notion, no high expectations, knowing Chatham is a small rural town I know I have high standards than the rest of you, I have nothing harsh to say about Mama Maria s, you are now frontline for the go-to Authentic Italian restaurant in town. I mean, it was just a masterpiece experience, we really felt we were in a piazza in Tuscany. The family feel, the staff going the distance to make you feel at home, at ease. They didn t upsell us on dishes we didn t want to eat, we were elated. Personally, honestly this is the only time I didn t even think how much it was going to cost at the end! If you love Italian food, and you need it at that particular moment, and you want to impress your significant other, YOU WILL PAY regardless. No one should be subjected to eating cardboard cause I know when I want to eat a quintessential dish, I need to taste it! I highly recommend the Braised Short Ribs with the risotto to begin your journey into the unknown. Then, go to heaven and die with the Dusted Calamaris. Of course, if you want to have an affair with your food, please order the Spaghetti Pescatore with fresh spaghetti, fresh mussels, fresh scallops, fresh jumbo prawns and fresh calamaris Everything fresh! May I add, putting a special attention to I never seen a kitchen being well run as Mama Maria s! A special thanks to the one of the chefs, Jeremy Inthachack (I hope I have the correct spelling). I spoke to the young man, highly knowledgeable, highly talented, with a bright future in front of him, I loved the passion in his eyes. Now you will know how the dishes comes out the kitchen, you see the special touches, the attention to details once you take the first bite. Thank you Jeremy and to your kitchen team. My spouse and I sat there, smiling in complete happiness, pure emotional high and you don t come down when the food is finished, you take the chef-d uvre with you home. So please go to Mama Maria s, order what you feel will make you happy and if you don t go, at least lie to your friends that you did. Thank you. Konodo
Atmosphere only type of place Food is just okay. Beer comes under poured, warm and slow even on a Wednesday.
Just had a wonderful dinner. Everyone was pleased and the food and service was well above average. Looking forward to return visits.
Good place to eat Italian food, the staff is attentive, the time for each meal is very long, making you feel very full in a short time.
2nd time there for the wife and I. We went there a while ago on the patio. Food was amazing and Michael picked a great Martini and local beer out for me..Wife is Italian and loved the food and decor in the restaurant..only 1 thing missing to make it a 10 out 10..a little Italian music playing while we dined would have been perfect..drove from north of london and we will definitely be back..ci vediamo a presto!!
Mama Marias is amazing! Anytime I want a fancy date night, we go here.
Great Italian food, but service was disappointing, if not dismal. Ive been a business traveling for 17 years and always eat here, but I am considering telling the local hotels I stay at that solo eaters are not welcome. Although the restaurant was not busy, I was ignored by my waitress, had to ask a different staff member for a 2nd of bread since my waittrees never came back after taking my order ( i timed it- took 18 minutes for bread after asking, olive oil and balsamic were not offered ( im familiar so I asked for it) ....my wait staff was sub par for sure and Im left with a bad taste in my mouth after 17 years as an occasional customer. Food was great as usual. I have left zero tip
Good food and portions Vegetarian options: Eggplant Parmesan Food : 4/5 |
We always have a great meal and excellent service here!
Loved this place the service and food was great!
Dennis took me to Mamma Marias for dinner. We went there last year also it was great. I thought I would try something different like Ravioli Stuffed Love Ravioli Lobster with Brown Sugar and Sage for Sauce. The Ravioli was not the greatest it was too sweet so I didnt have dinner. Dennis had a Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Mixed Veggies and we Also had Flatbread Stuffed with Cheese which was awesome. But Im not saying that their food is no good cause its not it was just one thing that I didnt like. I love Lobster love Ravioli love their food it was just the Sauce for the Ravioli that didnt go well with the Stuffed Ravioli. Sorry, I didnt take photos I always do when I go places.
Beautiful experience
Kailey our waitress was wonderful! The food was delicious.
Great atmosphere, absolutely delicious food. Service was attentive to our large party of 16. Our small children got their food quickly, including a very specific order for dietary needs. A small incident of spilled wine was attended to promptly with an offer to cover dry cleaning costs, and of course gave us a great story for our next family gathering! Our pizza afficionado declared the pizza the best hed ever had, and other party members agreed that lasagna, panzerotti and seafood were all wonderful. Thank you! Kid-friendliness: Great basic kid options to make their choices easy.
Flavors are Amazing, parking not so good.
Edit. We return a year later as we heard about new owners Had veal Marsala for $32. At that price I expect a good cut of veal. Unfortunately it was like prechewed meat. Tip. If you call and they tell you they have no table just go to restaurant. We were told no tables but there were lots. No. Not real Italian food. I have never had Osso bucco in a brown gravy thickened with cornstarch and I never want to have it again. Even the sauce on the veal scallopini was all gloppy due to too much cornstarch. Who does that? Waitress was nice enough.
Amazing meal! Tried the pizza, and finished the whole thing. Very much worth the experience!
One of the best places to eat in Chatham. Great atmosphere and experience.
A lovely night of Italian food. I need to go back to give their pizza a try. Food
Waited two hours to get our food just to get served some vegetables and a raw stake with a salty lobster and payed 200+ tax.
Great food, but over priced for sure.
Beyond amazing from the food to the service!! It s a must, to try! You feel like you re in Italy! Love this place! Food : 5/5 |
After a long tiring drive me and my girlfriend wanted to treat ourselves with a nice meal. The place looked good so we decided to try it. When we asked for a table the hostess said there were none, even though we could see two free tables. when we went back to the car we called the place for a table and a different person picked up. surprise, surprise - there was availability! I guess a tiny bit of accent is not welcome here at least with the hostess at the entrance!
2nd time being here for work events. Food was great both times. Waitress was attentive.
Excellent food and staff
Highly recommend the pizza at this Restaurant.
Great place. Great experience. Great taste.
I recently celebrated my 40th birthday and we decided to go to Mamma Marias for dinner as we both heard great things about this restaurant. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere here is very unique and the space mirrors the feeling of having dinner in a European courtyard. Overall the place feels fancy and welcoming. The food was well presented and honestly I wanted to try everything on the menu! We will definitely be coming back.
Delicious food. Wonderful friendly service!
I have a food allergy, they went above and beyond to make my stop not just safe but memorable! I highly recommend you try to stop by!
Oh my goodness The food there was awesome delicious fantastic I loved it well we loved it. It was so goo I am definitely going back to eat there. A little expensive but hey you pay for what you get and it was great all the way around. To start we had the Ricotta Cheese Bruschetta (Didnt care for that Appetizer it had to many tomatos on top they were not diced and they didnt heat it it seemed a little dry. Other than that I had Spagetti Pescatore, House Salad and Dennis had the Tomato Vegetable Soup and Lasagna and we had Fresh Bread.
Perfect restaurant for celebration, or just a meal out.
Excellent all around. Service was spot on. Michael was awesome, A foodie and knew his wine. He made it great. The food was excellent. Everyone finished their meals. The soup was delicious, mushroom. Oh, it was yum. I had the veal parm. It was fabulous. Paired it with gnocchi. Perfect. The pace was leisurely. Allowed us to finish each course, enjoy it, talk and enjoy our wine. Its a good thing we made reservations as it was packed. But everyone was good, not too loud and service was prompt. Highly recommend. A great spot for a great meal.
The warmest and genuine welcome, followed by great service. Incredibly chatty server constantly eves dropped and interrupted the conversations but overall experience was great pick to socialize with the work team. Did I mention the food was amazing? I had the seafood medley special. Yum Yum!
Ive been to this restaurant about 5 times now. Always fresh and delicious. Never had a bad experience. Very inviting inside and friendly staff.
First time here. Wont be the last. Enjoyed every bite of my meal. The atmosphere was just right. Restaurant was jammed packed and was still able to hear everyone at our table. Food was prepared fresh and to taste. There was no shortage of food on all of our plates. I suggest going on an empty stomach. Our waitress was very accommodating with all our requests. My wife had the eggplant parmigiano and I had the spaghetti prescatore while our other 2 diners had the lasagna and the same spaghetti dish.
Nice restaurant, friendly staff. Food is pretty pricey for the quality, but the portions are good. Not bad by any means, just meh.
We went the day before Valentines Day. Valentines menu was awailable which was awesome. Service was slow due to restaurant being very busy but very pleasant waitress. Bread was fresh and warm. Ordered lobster ravioli in Prosecco lemon creme sauce. And it was pretty bad. Severely undercooked, Luke warm, very clunky thick pasta that was gluey, filling lacked flavour. Tiny amount of tasty sauce and that was it. Plate looked pale and poorly executed for $36. I rarely complain and almost never send food back, but back it went. Second attempt was at least hot. Manager was apologetic but this was a chef and kitchen execution issue. We like Mamas but not a good experience this time.
Amazing food amazing staff amazing experience
One of the best restaurants in Chatham should go check them out and enjoy their hospitality
My favorite Italian restaurant. Another fantastic meal for my daughters birthday Food
Great food and drink go check them out you will like them
Lindsay was cordial & efficient. Best pizza I have ever tasted. Had the Buffalo Chicken pizza available glutton free with cauliflower dough. Cold Stella Artois & I would suggest the Bourbon Smashed Peach for a mixed drink. We will go again.
Nothing u can complain.... one of a perfect restaurant in Ontario.
Always amazing food and service!
Its long been my favorite place to dine. Even after 20 plus years of working in the industry in various cities. The passion crafted behind the wall Nonnas Kitchen is waiting for you by the fork full. A++ for dining experience and authentic Italian cuisine. Kid-friendliness: Whether you call ahead or walk in. The wait staff are more than able to direct any accommodations that a rise with youth. And you should know, portion sizes for leftoverz will surely give you a snack that says... Belissimo
I was a little worried about arriving without a reservation but they were able to accommodate me as a solo diner. The team took care of me and really helped with honest answers about the menu. I ended up with a great meal that tasted fresh with every bite.
Excellent service combined with Great and tasty food!! Will definitely return Food
We booked the side room for a coworkers engagement dinner. Staff were awesome...did not rush us out as we were chatty and catching up. The space was quiet & quaint with our own restroom off to the back. The food was absolutely delicious! Never had a bad meal hear! Such a nice treat and night out! I had the Gnocchi.....delish
Food was delicious and well prepared. Great ambience.
We usually have a good experience here fast service, excellent food! , but last time we went it was very poor service. Granted it was busy, that s why it s still a 4* rating. But we got our aps with no utensils. I felt rushed. The food was okay, not as good as it could have been.
A little drafty sitting by the door.
Great portions and flavor, loved the experience and service.
Excellent food. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Service from our waitress was very good (Shae)
Loved it! Great food. Great value. Great staff. Win win and win.
Always a favourite place to eat!
Food is Amazing! Bruschetta, cesars salad and New York strip everything tasted soooo good. And the service was great!
Never disappointed here. Friendly staff, great food! Its pricey if you compare with sub par places, but when you realize what youre getting, fresh delicious food with proper portions that fill you up, its worth every cent! Go for a family meal or a date night!
The food was delicious and the portions were large. We had crab stuffed mushrooms for a starter which were very good. We sat outside on the back patio overlooking the river, it was so nice. Great service and the server suggested a wonderful mocktail for me to try.
Consistently delicious Italian cuisine with prompt and courteous service.
Food was good and plentiful!
Had panzzorotti.. very salty .. did not really care for it and 2 hrs dining time
On June 27 a ladies group I belong to was on a road trip and our dinner was at Mama Marias...it was awesome. We had a private room at the back and our servers Lyndsey and Chelsea were excellent very attentive, quick and good communicators. I was one of the organizers for dinner and dealt with Curtis to set everything up and he was very good to work with quick to respond and provided us with some great options. The food was excellent I had a chicken dish that was very good and all the ladies let me know how delicious all their meals were. We loved the atmosphere is the private area and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I highly recommend for a lovely evening and meal out. Thank you Mama Marias for making our evening special.
Very busy. Great staff, delicious food! Owner Nick, gracious! Would highly recommend! Jennifer was our waitress and she was fantastic. Hostess got us in (thank you)! We will be back!
Great food. Great service.
We love the food. Weve only had positive experiences.
Friends of ours were raving about Mamma Marias and were so glad we decided to make the trip to Chatham for lunch here. The ambiance is great, the service is super and the food is DELICIOUS!
Fantastic Italian Gem with Patio Dining! Mama Marias Italian Restaurant is a culinary treasure! Dining on the patio added to the charming ambiance. The lasagna, caprese salad, minestrone, and veal scaloppini were phenomenal. Dont miss the refreshing ricotta bruschetta! The Sons of Kent beer was a perfect pairing. Attentive service and authentic flavors make this a must-visit spot. Cant wait to return! Bravo, Mama Marias!
I ve been there many times in the food service and atmosphere is excellent. A little overcrowded at times, but reservations are recommended at all times. On my last visit, which was in the March of 2023. We were seated off the main dining room close to an exterior window. It was extremely cold that night, and it was cold where we sat. However, the food was good, as well as the service as per usual can t strongly recommend this place enough for anyone living in or visiting Chatham.
Nik & Co. are fantastic.
Amazing foods, wonderful ambiance
Me and my wife randomly stopped in for dinner. The food was amazing, we live about an hour away and we will definitely be back. Food
To much salt
An absolutely wonderful dining experience.
Had a delicious dinner and the waitress surprised me with a dessert for my birthday!!
Great Italian Restaurant! The veal was amazing. Highly recommended! Food
Was there for my Mother-in-laws birthday party. Our waiters (Michael & Michael) were excellent. Food awesome as always. Cant wait for another meal there. Havent been disappointed yet.
Great environment feeling like your on a city street while inside. Server was very polite and prompt. Food selection was decent and food tasted very good. Some patio seating along with indoor seating. There is a room option in the back if you are ever looking for a space to rent. Very good experience. Dietary restrictions: Can make most items gluten free if required. Parking: Decent parking in the area Kid-friendliness: Decent clean environment for kids to be in. Wheelchair accessibility: Walk in right off the sidewalk without issue
We just had a dinner with friends at this restaurant and had a very horrible experience. The food was well done and the waitress was wonderful. The experience was the atmosphere and how the management chose not to deal with problems. We were seated in a separate room with our group of eight. 10 minutes after we arrive another group of drunk adult men was seated in the same room. The were very very loud and obnoxious and continued for the duration of our dinner. The waitress asked them to tone down but they ignored her. Management did nothing about this until heated tempers started to arise from each group. We were offered some complimentary gift cards knowing full well how poorly the situation was handled. Most of us did not accept them as we will not return.
The best place to eat in Chatham. The owner is a fantastic community member, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the food just keeps on delighting. We will be back again!
Kari is amazing!! So kind and so sweet! For my first time there the impression was amazing. Beautiful interior!
A little Italy in Chatham! Delicious dishes and an absolutely wonderful atmosphere.
My first visit and it wont be my last! Nick the owner was terrific, Michael took care of us and suggested the pizza and it was the best pizza I have ever had! Thank you Michael for taking care of us! We had such a great experience at Mamma Marias. Highly recommend if you live in Chatham, the surrounding area or like myself out of town and find yourself visiting Chatham, dont miss out on great food, charm and an owner with staff that care!
Service and atmosphere very good as always! 4 adults dining...shared the Arancini to start...wasnt as cheesy gooey as weve had previous, fairly crumbly on biting in to. Two had the Seafood Risotto which was excellent! Loaded with seafood, rich and creamy. Two had the Chicken and said it was ok, the sauce didnt impress and the breast was a little dry & over cooked.
Had the pleasure of socializing at Mama s last night. The food and service are always first rate. When we are in Chatham it is our must visit restaurant Nick, Mike and all staff go out of their way to welcome you Thank you Food : 5/5
Nice place with great pizza. Friendly waitress. Recommend!
First time there. Melt in your mouth delicious!
Best meal I ve had in many many years, not to mention the incredible ambiance!
I have been to this restaurant four times in four years. No matter when I come in, the staff are always the same, helpful, courteous, friendly and 100% over the top when it comes to customer satisfaction. This restaurant and the people who work here truly care about the guest experience. Its my absolute favorite place to eat in Chatham, I cant recommend it enough. If youre in town you need to go here, simply the best!!!
Best place in town. The food, the service, the waiters, everything. I ordered the lasagna and absolutely fell in love. The ambience is pretty too.
Unfortunately the place was cold. The waitress did not bother to mention that the special came with a specific salad. She offered a Mediterranean cost an extra $7. My dinner was ok, and it was definitely not worth the $41 price. Spaghetti with a small portion of sea food.
The food was incredible. The best short rib I have ever had. Very informative and friendly staff.
Too noisy. Waitress too busy but very knowledgeable. Wheelchair accessibility: Not great accessibility but made it work Food : 4/5 |
Expensive restaurant but the food is amazing as well as the service.
Disappointing ... Seating was slow even with a booking for a large party. The previous customers had to be told to leave by staff who still needed to clean and set the tables for our group. They would not allow us to sit at an empty table of 10 because it was reserved. Until the manager (?) came along some 15+ min later. Servive was slow. The staff did take orders by overlapping drinks, appetizers and main course. Smart, to allow bar and kitchen to keep up. Yet, there was a long wait to get it all. From our booked time to getting the main course there was wwll over an 1h30. We were starving. Food ended mostly cold, somewhat blend. My appetizer, the calamari, was a very nice portion. But, it was overcooked and cold... on chewy side. Others had different appetizers, but same comments - nothing special, especially for the price. The bread had come too early for a group now starving. We had to do our own olive oil and balsamic mix to dip our bread in. The ceasar salad was fine, a nice portion. I had the seafood risotto. Aside from being blend and rather cold, it was a fair portion. Scallops were perfect, melt in mouth. The lobster or crab, hard to tell, had no taste ... the fillet of red snapper was too cooked, a bit too dry. The chicken seafood special, although cold as well, was very good. I had a taste. There was two large shrimps, the chicken moist & well cooked. Instead of a few small carrots for garnish, there was a large carrot. Weird. In other words, all plates could of been near perfect but for being long to arrive and too cold to serve. We had no time for dessert. The bill eventually came. Ouch! Two beers, two glasses of wine, a shared appetizer and two main plates, no dessert, and the forced tip of 27$ totalled a little over 200$. I had better and warmer for less. At least the group enjoyed the opportunity of being together. Sadly, I would not come back. Parking: Parking was a few minutes away, unless you parked at the bank next door. Being passed banking hours, it looked safe enough to not get towed or fined. The city parking, across the street behind a building, was free being near the holidays... A nice touch.
I have not even eaten here yet! So why the 5 stars? We took a peek inside this restaurant today. Just a quick look around from the front entrance and we apologized for interrupting, as we noticed they were not really opened for business just then. What happened next was so unexpected in these times. The owner came up to us, he showed us all around the beautiful rooms within the restaurant. The chef came out to greet us..with a hand shake, remember those? He spoke a little about menu and special orders etc. We got to hear a bit about the history of the place and had a very pleasant discussion. Absolutely the best customer service even before becoming a customer. Ther menu looks fabulous and their prices are reasonable plus you can enjoy the lovely ambiance. I hope they play Italian music too! The main eating area is large but not impersonal. If you go, check out the room with the fireplace which looks out onto the water. Beautiful for a special gathering. They have another smaller space, nice room very intimate. What a find!!l We thought we would have to wait for a future special occasion to eat there but their prices are reasonable enough that we are planning to go there before that!! Looking forward to that experience And yes on leaving they thanked us with a hand shake. Bravo !
My family and I recently dined here and we were very pleased with the entire experience. The atmosphere is great, all of our meals were delicious, and our server Michael was amazing! 10/10 recommend to anyone.
This restaurant is one of the best in town in my opinion. Little bit pricey but I have no problem paying for what we received for our date. We got 2 meals outta one meal and an app, a couple drinks, and a dessert. Definitely worth every penny. Our waiter was really nice it was super busy so he did his best to be as quick as he could, he kept us posted on how long it was going to be until our main course was going to be.
I do not live in Chatham area, but was here once and remember food being fantastic and today for a work party didnt disappoint...was fantastic! Party of about 11 were beyond impressed with the food. And server Mike was also amazing... he said he was new but he fooled me... he was super attentive and remembered everything... very upbeat and helped make the ambiance quite enjoyable.
Excellent service and delicious food. The only complaint would be the noise level. Wheelchair accessibility: Difficult to get a wheelchair into the restaurant.
Title: Culinary Catastrophe Unleashed Once upon a time, we adored Mama Marias, but oh, how the mighty have fallen! The prices soared to new heights, and the quality took a nosedive. Paying $18 for Funghi Granchio felt like funding a mushroom space expedition. Farewell, dear Mama Marias; our wallets wont be returning. In the epic saga of dining misadventures, our waitress orchestrated a symphony of forgetfulness. Picture this: she realized our salads were MIA, rushed to the table, declared our foods readiness, and proposed holding it hostage under the heat lamps until our salad saga concluded. A plot twist worthy of a culinary soap opera! As if scripted by a prankster chef, the Funghi Granchio emerged from the kitchen on a bare saucer, lacking any semblance of presentation. No saucy drizzles, no garnish theatrics just mushrooms in solitary confinement. A bag of lettuce mightve added some suspense, but alas, Mama Marias attention to detail has become a disappearing act. Adding another punchline to this culinary comedy, the Gnocchi 4 Cheese Pasta featured a cheese mystery, with all but the blue cheese going AWOL. The overpowering blue cheese left two-thirds of the diners contemplating an early exit from the cheese carnival. And to top it off, my Penny Polo Pesto seemed to be participating in a low-budget polo match the polo was there, but in such scant amounts it could have been on a diet. Mama Marias, once a gastronomic haven, now delivers a punchline that leaves our wallets in stitches, our taste buds in revolt, and our dishes with a comically frugal approach to ingredients.
