Great ambience, nice and relaxed ambience and the chef took the time to chat to us afterwards, would definitely recommend.

Such a beautiful place! First went to try the lunch menu which is an absolute must for the price would highly recommend the palak chaat and their butter chicken (by far the best i ve tried). Big shout out to our server Ashwin topped off the experience with his warm welcome and positive attitude. My experience was so positive that i decided to book in for dinner a couple days later and once again i was not disappointed. Emily ensured we had a smooth sailing evening walking us through the menu and always being able to take care of her tables even on what appeared to be a busy evening. Big thank you to all the staff for such an amazing experience!

Unfortunately our experience today was very bad. We came as a family of 8. The chicken was cold and undercooked. They don t even use chicken breast in their dishes, they use old chicken with fatty and vainy bits!! Most dishes came cold and tasteless, the actual taste is very basic and unpleasant, very disappointed . 8 People can t be wrong!! Also I would like to add the waitress was rude and with a very bad attitude. Why would you give us hot plates 30 mins before our dinner arrived? by the time the dinner came the plates were cold . WONT BE BACK EVER !!

Had an amazing experience here recently. Different take on the usual Indian dishes initially had me worried as I can be fussy especially with it comes to lamb dishes. But this place excelled my expectations! Cannot wait to come back for more

I ve eaten a lot of Indian food in my life and can say this is honestly one of the best places I ve been to. Butter chicken was exceptional, not sweet like your average takeaway. So many flavours definitely a must try. Warm and lovely atmosphere. The service was amazing, Emily looked after me and my partner perfectly, she was really friendly and fast service, which made my birthday even more special. Thank you so much for a lovely evening. It is the first time we have been there, it is the best food we have ever had eating out. Being Vegan, I was unsure of what to have, but they were very helpful in their suggestions. The staff and the atmosphere in the restaurant are amazing. Vegetarian options: We tried a variety of the vegan side dishes and they were all great. Dietary restrictions: One of our party was vegan and they loved what we had.

Shikha ensured we had a great time, recommending milder items for one of the group and ensuring we had everything we needed. We had heard good things about this restaurant which we visited Saturday 26th October. I have to put a little bit of context to what I say next. I love curry and Indian/sub-continental food and appreciate a good Indian restaurant, I feel Medway has a decent history with Indian, Bengali, Bangladeshi food and there is fair competition. We have also eaten in Gymkhana by Green Park. Saturday I might well have had the nicest, tastiest, most complete curry I have ever eaten. I had the Mutton Katiya meat on the bone and it was utterly sublime. Not only was the quality of the food incredible the service was perfect, we were greeted and shown to our table in a really friendly manner, had the menu explained and given recommendations based on desire for heat, vegetarian options and the waiters personal favourites too. The price was in the region of £50 per head including service charge and drinks which I felt was very reasonable. The portion sizes were perfect, nothing was left apart from bones and cardamon pods by the time we had finished. We will definitely be back, and think 4 of us have all found a new favourite restaurant in Medway

I had ordered for Polau rice and gurkha fire lamb curry. But the quantity was too less. You will atleast need 2-3 portions of rice to fill your stomach which would probably cost you £10-£12. Which isnt worth it. And 5 tiny pieces of lamb meat in the curry costing £14. Honestly food was tasty but the quantity should be reviewed.

The best food in Medway by a country mile. The chefs are ex-Dishoom and you can tell; the menu is SO delicious. The food is authentic so don t go expecting a lamb pasander and a korma. It s so much better and is an education on what this food is meant to taste like. I think about the palak chaat a lot. Great drinks menu. The management are friendly, open to feedback and super nice. The owner is there most evenings and he is a great guy.

Amazing dinner, thinking about it now, the morning after the night before and my mouth is salivating. The food is AMAZING!!! And if you can take the heat, you must try their special recipe chill sauce OMG. Customer service was excellent as well, I wanna call Ryan who was an absolute gem and good to speak with him and Head Chef Keshav. You know at home, on a Sunday evening or any other, you make a dinner, put some music on and sit back and relax? Exactly what me and my partner done tonight. But here at Gurkha. You know what we got? An awesome live band with a Jamie and his mate with a guitar and giving us oasis, ABBA and much more. Met the manager and found a connection as he first of all seated us even though we didnt book. We sang, clapped and cheered whilst we had a delicious meal created by the head chef who we also met. Great evening out. Thank you Gurkha Fire. Couldnt recommend you highly enough, what you doing? We came on a Thursday for my sister birthday, live music and lovely atmosphere. The place was packed but still had an intimate feel. All the staff make you feel like old friends and the food is delicious Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie and vegan options. We were a group of different dietary requirements and it was easily catered for

The food is delicious. Very nice service. One star less for an unpleasant surprise during payment - a 12.5% service fee was automatically added to the bill. Extorting a tip is worse than in the US. Quite expensive - dinner without alcohol costs at least £30 per person. Ps. If they write in the menu that something is very spicy, it is.

If you re looking for an authentic nepalese or indian food then I ve to say you should avoid this restaurant. I ve tried biryani but the portion size was small and the biryani was blend too. Prawns were too sweet whereas staff was bit undertrained. I d say atmosphere and hygiene was up to the mark but food wasn t authentic

I recently visited Chatham and was pleasantly surprised to come across Gurkha Fire, an authentic Nepalese restaurant set in a charming old fire station. As someone who isn t local to the area, finding a spot like this was a welcome surprise. Being a big meat eater, I wasn t sure what to expect from the vegetable dishes, but I have to say they were incredibly satisfying. The Palak Chaat was a standout, with crispy layers topped with chickpea curry, tangy chutneys, and fresh pomegranate seeds adding a burst of sweetness. The Govi Manchurian, a cauliflower-based dish, was unexpectedly delicious. It was full of flavor, perfectly spiced, and satisfying in a way I didn t anticipate. That said, the meat dishes did not disappoint either. The Fire Wings were exactly what I hoped for crispy, tender with a lot of spice (youve been warned) and a depth of flavor that made them hard to resist. Each dish was well thought out, and it s clear the kitchen takes pride in both their meat and vegetable offerings. To top off the experience, there was live music from Tesni Jones (from The Voice), which added a lovely, relaxed atmosphere to the evening. Overall, my night at Gurkha Fire was fantastic. The combination of good food, thoughtful service, and a unique setting made it a memorable evening. I d definitely recommend it to anyone passing through Chatham or even locals looking for something to do at the weekend.

Second time we have visited Gurkha Fire, after going to Dylan s a few times in the past, we were still not disappointed. The service was very attentive, food was delicious and it is a nice place to be. Would definitely recommend. We had the Palak Chaat and Fire Fries to start, for mains we had the mixed grill which was lovely, and plenty of food and also the Paneer Tikka Masala. Would very much recommend the spicy cocktail.

Went here for my wifes 30th for a chilled dinner date. We came with our 2 month old baby and they seated us in a place conducive to stowing a pram. The food was very nice. The menu is limited but that is ok as i have a preference for restaurants that try and do a page or 2 of dishes to a very high standard instead of claiming to stock fresh ingredients for a whole books worth of dishes and under delivering. The best bit of our experience was that, the proprietor came over to ask how our meal was. We were complimentary but when he learned it was for my wifes birthday without prompt went to retrieve a little bottle of prosecco pro bono. Ill definitely return to try more of their menu.

Amazing people, service and food. Cooked by master spice blenders this decadent meal was hearty, delicious fresh and exciting. The complexity of flavours built up from a gentle caress to a full on lip smacking kiss! Yum yum well be back. Highly recommend the mutton curry naan breads and momos plus the chai liqueur dessert was exquisite and the chocolate fondant finished the meal to perfection.

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! Could not recommend enough! We came in for a birthday dinner for my mum, after craving an Indian. Not long ago, we had been to Dishoom and were blown away. The quality of dishes and experience at Gurkha Fire equally matched what we experienced at Dishoom which blew us away with it being a smaller restaurant. Would have to give a special mention to Ben who gave us plenty of time to view the menu, offered us nibbles and tap water, and guided us through the menu. For three of us (one veggie) we went for: Palak Chaat, Waghorn Potatoes, Gavi Manchurian, Lamb Momo, Fried Okra, Paneer Tikka, Seekh Kebab, Raita and Garlic Naan. All of which we would eat again over and over. Could not fault the staff or the food. Was so happy we could have a special meal for my mums birthday. And to top it off, Ben gave my mum a cider for the ride! Thank you

Went for a dinner with my work-- Really beautiful interiors, really friendly and hospitable staff, the manager was lovely and took our photo for us, even the chefs were incredibly friendly! The food was magnificent as well! Beautifully presented and the menu suited the tables varied needs in terms of spice levels. Lots of veggie and vegan options available too. A musician came on towards the tail end of the evening and he was great, really added to the atmosphere rather than imposing on it as some live music can. Just the right volume for us to continue chatting if we wanted too.

The service was nice, but overall the food was disappointing. I really enjoyed the garlic chicken wings, but the main courses we had (Fire Lamb and Tandoori Chicken) were bland. Considering the fairly high price of 34 pounds each (not ordering any drinks or dessert), I would not visit again unfortunately.

Every dish tasted amazing, the owner came over and recommended a dish which he kindly gave us on the house so we could try it, he also went through som history and about how the dishes are made which we loved as you could see the care for the place. Been dying to visit since it opened, and wasn t disappointed. Absolutely INCREDIBLE food - try the Govi Manchurian, and the Palak Chaat Service, drinks and atmos all spot on! WOW!!!! WOW!!!! WOW!!!! The best Nepalese food we have ever tasted and the hospitality was just absolutely unbelievable!! I can honestly say this must be one of the best restaurants we have ever visited and it s in Medway (on our doorstep) The vibe here last night with the live singer was something else. I will do a separate reel so he can be heard, as he deserves it with that voice He was unbelievable too. The food was just simply amazing and we said to the chef that we thought it was even better than Dishoom in London, to then find out 2 of the chefs used to work there!! The owners (managers and chef), even came to our table to speak to us to see how we were getting on, it was service like no other, from the bar staff to the Waitresses especially TALLULAH who served us, who is absolutely amazing and a credit to Gurkha Fire , the chefs and the managers. I still cannot get over it. The meat just melted off the bone and the starters OMG!!! In my husbands words you can taste the love that went into the food I wish we had time for dessert too, next time we will go earlier, as we were the last ones left The whole restaurant feels like somewhere expensive in London and it is decorated with amazing features from Nepal!!! Every little detail was just fantastic!!!! These guys have really pulled it off here and they deserve every bit of recognition!!! This place is going to be so popular!! This is an honest review from 2 foodies who have visited 100s of restaurants!! Still blown away from our visit!!!

My partner and I travel to Chatham often and every time we walked past, we smelled such amazing food.. so we decided to finally try it today. Waste of £35.36. It started with lipstick on a glass, then hair on my plate it states on the menu that the butter chicken is NOT a sweet mess .. that is exactly what it was. It was the sweetest curry my partner and I ever tasted. He actually had to change his dish because of the sweetness. My mutton was ok but not as impressive as the menu tried to sell. The prices were pretty high so we also expected value for money the portions were so small that we left the restaurant hungry. My 8 year old daughter could easily finish the portion for adults. On top of everything, there was a large group of people that acted like they were watching a football match in a pub down the road. We have a 3 hour drive back home and we are planning to stop at a Burger King because we are still hungry.

Very very good. Had the mutton which was a bit of a smaller portion than expected but was delicious, as was everything else we ate. The wine was nice. The waiting staff/service was amazing, didnt have to wait ever. Will be back!

Amazing food! It was our second visit so we tried some different options and it was as all delicious. Nice touch being able to see and chat to the chef afterwards. We didn t realise there d be live music on the night we went and we found it a little loud whilst trying to chat, but otherwise a wonderful experience.

Gurkha Fire is one of the best restaurant experiences weve ever had. We came here for my birthday meal and was absolutely blown away. From the incredibly warm and personal service to the most flavoursome, inventive yet traditional food cooked from the heart by people who are passionate about what they do - and boy do they do it well. I was shocked to find out this restaurant is 6 months old. It has the confidence and precision of an establishment thats been around for years and had the time to hone and perfect each and every part of the business. I cant wait to come back here and try more incredible dishes. A massive well done to owner Hari and his top class team!

Had a lovely evening at Ghurka Fire last week. Met the manager and the chef. The chef asked if they could improve and I couldn t think of anything. Was perfect. Relaxed and friendly but efficient service and really tasty food. Can t wait to have another cheese and truffle oil naan.

We had a wonderful meal, as usual, we started with cocktails and then a delicious meal, the waitress , harshita, was very friendly and helpful. We recommend it to all our friends and family.

Absolutely brilliant! The resteraunt staff were kind and attentive, the resteraunt itself was clean and well managed and the food was delightful. We had a mix of dishes including the Palak Chaat (which was the standout dish for me), Timur Chicken, Palak Mushroom, Lamb chops, House Black Daal, Pulao and Garlic Naan. Followed by a mix of the desserts (cheesecake, fondant and pistachio ice cream) We will definitely be back!

I went to Gurkha fire and tried their butter chicken and some other food the food was really up to the mark especially butter chicken was top notch, we were given amazing service by one of their team member named Shikha, she was really helpful and approachable, she made our experience better with her service.

My second time coming here with different groups and each time me and my friends/family loved this place. The ambience is great, the staff and chef are wonderful. Also, their food is top notch. Their tandoori chicken, tandoori roti, butter naan are all delicious. The mutton curry was also very tasty. Also, try their Gurkha Fire cheesy chips. Thank you to the entire team for always being so attentive, friendly and providing amazing food.

First time here and definitely won t be the last. We were made to feel very welcome with excellent friendly service and the food is absolutely delicious. It outdid some top Indian restaurants I ve tried in London so it s a real treat to have in Medway. The decor is tasteful and comfy too. I really hope that the restaurant is as successful as it deserves to be as we need more places as good as this in the area. You can tell how much they care.

Best customer service, best Nepali foods & atmosphere of restaurants we feel like we are in Nepal. Tastes are so authentic. Food is very freshly made. We can taste all spices. Food like made by mother. Surprising part is all people working there are on same vibe. Almost everyone checks if customers are okay with food and everything. Had a chat with Chef Keshav. He had experienced about two decades. He had a great knowledge about food. This place is highly recommended for locals and tourists I am from Australia we were visiting Uk best food we got in UK. Had a little taster meal at the street food stall at City Wall wine bar, top drawer! I had chicken wings (the hot & soy) the other half had chicken mo mo, all 3 delicious! Can t wait to pop in for a sit in at the restaurant.
