Upscale oceanfront eatery with New American cuisine, a large wine list & floor-to-ceiling windows.
We went there for my husband’s birthday brunch and it was a great experience. The hotel & restaurant are high class and beautifully maintained. The views from the restaurant are gorgeous. The servers are welcoming & attentive. The food options were plenty & there is a buffet as well for brunch. The cherry on the cake is a cute birthday gesture, which put a smile on our faces. We will definitely be back to this restaurant and will try the others in this hotel as well. P.S. make sure to reserve as it gets super busy in the summer.
Superb views, food and service. A great place for a special occasion. Food is excellent - with good presentation and flavors.
We were lucky to get the last reservation on a Friday night. Everything about our meal was fantastic but better yet was the attentive and gracious service from our server Sarah. The diver scallop risotto was wonderful and the seasonal vegetables. Loved the espresso marscapone cheesecake too. Would happily go back to dine there again!
Absolutely wonderful experience. Food was amazing (literally all of it, not just one dish) and it was fairly priced. The ambiance was so picturesque. I would definitely recommend trying to get a window seat. Our waiter was just the most knowledgeable and sweet guy. We had a great time celebrating a birthday and will be coming back in the future.
The food was amazing! I had the tagliatelle and the scallops and my husband had the buratta and the lamb. Sarah was so lovely and made us all feel so special. They gave all 9 of us a little private room. The ambiance is a little stiff even for a super upscale restaurant.
My husband and I checked into CBI for a little staycation as we’re only a few hours away from our Connecticut hometown. We planned to make this a summer tradition but after our dinner last night at stars, we’re not so sure. When we walked in, we saw a nearly empty dining room yet we were sat in the second row away from the window. We asked the hostess kindly and politely if we could be directly by the window as we had sat there earlier for breakfast and so enjoyed being closer to the beautiful view. She immediately told us that all front row tables were “spoken for.” I found that rather odd as we weren’t given a table option when making our reservation. However, we sat down with a smile and let it go. Several minutes later, other parties of 2 came in after us and were put in the front, blocking our view. Over 45 minutes later, a family of 3 came in and threw an absolute fit about being sat in the corner. A small back and forth tantrum and they were seated directly in the front at the table I had wanted. Not only did the staff reward them for their vulgar display but made it clear to me that if you’re rude and entitled, you get your way at Stars. The exact hostess who told us those tables were taken was the one that sat this family at their new spot. While it wasn’t initially a big deal to me, it left a bad taste in my mouth. We were hotel guests. We were dressed up and we were gracious when told no. We also were at the establishment twice in the same day. On top of this, my lobster bisque was horrid. It was poured from a tiny bowl into a giant one, making it nearly impossible to eat. Texture and taste were entirely off. They also forgot my husband’s second drink and brought it out AFTER dessert. The only positive was my blackberry pavlova. An apology for the dishonesty would just be appreciated.
The service of the waitstaff was unparalleled. Every team member we spoke with was attentive and kind. I was surprised by the lack seafood-less entree options. As a vegetarian, I was hoping for more robust meals in this category apart from the standard salad. That said, our experience was lovely and we will recommend to anyone venturing to the cape.
We went here for my wife's birthday, and I must say, I've been to a lot of restaurants over the years, but this place is memorable. I read a review on here where the reviewer said "they had never been treated so well before". All I can say is, "I concur". This is a very classy place where they treat all their guests like royalty. It's a great indulgence for a special evening. It's worth every penny. The food had so much flavor and was beautifully put together. We will certainly be back. This is a place to go on a special night out when on the Cape. You will not be disappointed. We will be back next year.
Poorly shucked oysters, slow service, and tiny portions of overpriced food. CBI is an incredible hotel and property, but the food at Stars was laughably bad. I got an 8oz steak, but couldnt have been more than 3oz of actual meat! Embarrassing.
I ve been trying to get in touch with their management for the past 2 days - no response at all. Spoke with Lisa who transfers me and then it goes directly to the voicemail. They charged my credit card twice. I really hope I can get this resolved.
A beautiful room with fantastic views. The food was superb and the service was very good. Highly recommended.
I can not fathom the hatred of this place. This was easily one of the better meals I ve had the last few years and the service was impecable. From chef to manager to server all was excellent.
Freaking amazing. Not sure why this only has 3.5 stars
Best fine dining in my experience! It was Cheryls birthday, and all the fine dine restaurants had closed early this year. The Stars was open, and we decided to try it. We now have a new fine dining restaurant for her birthday. Sarah, our waitress and Paul the Matred made our evening all the better. Food and libations were over the top. Atmosphere was seasonal and beautiful, so we sat at the fireplace with our drinks before and after dining. I highly recommend the Stars Restaurant for a winter treat.
We went for the New Years Day brunch, and it was incredible! The event was well coordinated. We were sat immediately upon arrival at our reserved time at a table that let us look out at the ocean. There was plenty of room to walk around, seatings were spread out enough to avoid crowding at the stations. The food was absolutely spectacular. There were so many options, very tasty, and beautifully made! Our server was attentive and was sure to keep the Bloody Marys/mimosas coming. We will absolutely be back next year. Parking: You can go to the main entrance and do the valet or park in the lot across the street. The parking area is dirt/shells, so be mindful of that depending on your shoes.
Wonderful night! Thank you! We will be back soon.
For the price this was very disappointing. For example, my fingerling potatoes were very under cooked, fish was just ok, veg was generally under seasoned and the presentation was a little off. Don t get me wrong, if you took 1/3 off price it would probably be fine but they are taking advantage of the reputation. On the bright side, service, cocktails and dessert were good.
horrible food along with horrible service. noise levels equal to a large sporting event
I m not sure why all the ratings for this place or not 5-Star (maybe old outdated ones), but we had an absolutely wonderful dinner with Paul (manager, I think?) and our amazing waiter. Thanks guys, we will definitely see you again on our way from Bostown to Ptown! Folks If you have time, and can swing a dinner here, you re in for something special.
Love it here! For breakfast, the buffet is great and there s a lot to choose from. For dinner, the food is good too, and the ambiance is very nice. Vegetarian options: The restaurant has vegetarian options but it s a small menu so the options are pretty limited. For breakfast, however, there s a lot of better options because . It s breakfast food. Dietary restrictions: They ll tell you what s in a dish, and they can prepare special versions of a dish for you so you can get something you want. Parking: The parking lot is decently sized but it can fill up quickly and it s about a 290 foot walk from the front door. Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu, but please for the love of all that is holy and/or satanic, please don t bring kids here. It s a quiet, upscale atmosphere. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on a flat surface and there s nothing that s too hard to get on. You ll have to go in through the front door though, as the back door is on stairs. There s a ramp in the restaurant but they warn you about if if you cross it.
We had an amazing dining Experience at STARS at CBI this past Saturday. That s what I would call it rather than a great dinner . We fortunately have several wonderful restaurants in town that continually provide great meals, but this was a step above which is why I call it a dining Experience. It was similar to the wonderful gastronomic adventures we ve recently enjoyed in both Eastern France and Italy. It all started with Ali greeting us so warmly, Paul being very attentive, and Sarah, our server, was just perfect. Ali sat us at a wonderful table by the window so we could enjoy the beautiful, festive lights. We thoroughly enjoyed perfectly crafted cocktails to start: Belvedere Cosmopolitans for me and my husband, a Tanqueray G&T (unfortunately the do not carry 10, but it was still wonderful!), and we were all very impressed with the selection of alcohol-removed wines available by the glass & bottle. Paul was very helpful, checking in several times, offering assistance with our choice of wine to accompany our meals. As a Certified Level One Sommelier myself, I appreciated his informative recommendations. We enjoyed one of my favorite varietals, a lovely Chateauneuf-Du-Pape AOC. I must say though, Sarah was the STAR of the night. She was personable, witty, informative, and always right on time with every step. Then there was the food. Wow. The menu was recently created and released and it is one you should not waste any time enjoying. It was all just so delicious. We had and loved every bite of our meals. For our Starters, it is difficult to say which was the best! We enjoyed every bite of the daily crudo preparation, which was a delicious tuna; the Duck Fat Parker House rolls with duck rillette; as well as some amazing Tagliatelle with white truffles (which was another daily preparation). The chef came out, compliments from Ms. Decker, with a heaping helping of fresh shaved truffles table side, that really just put the pasta over the top. Simply delicious! Frankly, some of the best pasta we have had since Positano. We thoroughly enjoyed each of our Entrees as well. I had the Butter Basted Halibut which was prepared perfectly and dressed in the perfect amount of delectable mushroom consomme. Accompanied by Eastham Turnip and sea vegetables, it was amazing. My husband and our two friends loved the Juniper Spiced Venison which was so tasty and looked beautiful on the plate, but the flavors were the stars. The venison is joined by winter squash, and mushroom over cappelletti pasta. Savory delicious flavor combinations. Then there were the beautiful desserts! We shared and enjoyed both the S mores plate with Knob Creek Bourbon caramel, Madagascar single domain chocolate & smoked meringue; as well as the Grilled Lemon Pound Cake, with ginger lemon curd, poppy seed meringue, cranberry gastrique and cardamom crumble. Both were delectable! Sorry no photos, didn t think to take them as we just enjoyed the beautiful and festive atmosphere. I highly recommend you (re)visit to celebrate any special occasion or any given day! It really was an all-around wonderful experience. Congratulations on the great team and those 5-stars are well deserved!
Overall, we didn t get the sense that this restaurant wanted any customers. We went to Stars to have a pleasant, upscale dinner. Instead, we had an abominable experience. Looking now at Google reviews and notice that what we have experienced, everyone else has too. We spoke to the manager about our complaints. He listened politely to our complaints but didn t respond. We now understand that this situation repeats itself often. (Our complaints: our reservation was lost, then our table wasn t ready, wine list had cheap wines sold for $$$, portions were overpriced but tiny, food arrived cold). In an effort to give a balanced review, we will mention that the food tasted good and the support staff was very nice. Also, breakfast at Stars is a different, lovely affair: our issue was with dinner only. We have been coming to this restaurant for years. It is going downhill fast. To management: wake up!
I took a party of 7 for a quiet (and extremely expensive) birthday dinner, and in a practically empty dining room were seated right next to a childrens pizza party taking place in a side room with doors, which the management refused to close, even after we asked repeatedly. It was extremely disruptive to our dinner and so we left before dessert and coffee. The Manager on duty ignored our requests, did not approach our table when he went around the room to ask every other table how things were. They also insisted on adding a 20% gratuity to the check, even though the menu said it would be added only to parties of 8 or more. The only reason we are giving 2 stars is because Sarah, the server, was excellent and tried really hard to help. The food was good although the portions were tiny.
The food was amazing. Every dish was better than the last! I cant wait to try some more options.
I booked a table for 9 on a Saturday, in late August. The Stars typically only allows parties of up to 8, unless booking a room. The reservation desk at the Chatham Bars Inn, was incredibly accommodating and with permission booked us for a party of 8-10 a month in advance. Upon receiving the large group menu, I was able to negotiate for the full menu to be an option for our party, given the picky eaters in my group. Upon arrival our group was promptly seated and the full menu was provided to the table without any reminders necessary. Our waiter was incredibly patient and promp. All members of the group thoroughly enjoyed the food. The 3 course pre-fix menu for $85 allowed all members of the party were satisfied and satiated. Parking: Free Valet Parking with rapid response
Delicious food! We ordered clam chowder, pork belly and the tomohawk ribeye for dinner. All three dishes tasted fantastic. Also you can t beat the gorgeous ocean view from every angle in the restaurant. Would definitely come back again!
Service was good, very friendly and accommodating. However, they cannot call themselves an upscale restaurant while serving this mediocre food. Not worth $350/dinner for two.
I regret to share but this place is not at the food level it should be. Ill preface by saying Im a millennial and felt the restaurant was generally outdated...stuffy and slooow. The food was the biggest disappointed: we tried adding truffles to the cheese plate thinking itd be amazing. The $60 cheese plate lacked excitement and we mentioned the truffles had no taste and asked that it was brought to chefs attention... apparently they are supposed to taste like pure nothing...?? The fish special was ok but had more garnish than vegetables and the meal was crazy pricey, even though were used to this. I want to share this feedback with management so they take a long look at where this restaurant is going and how to turn it around.
We must say we were disappointed in last nights service and food presentation. It seemed like the B team was present. $300 pre tip for four was not worth the ticket.
We enjoyed our breakfast for the few days we were staying at the Inn. Good choice at the buffet, food was fresh, staff friendly. The only criticism I would give is that the hot food could have been hotter. But regardless it was all good.
Food in Stars restaurant is mediocre at best and service was lacking (slow to refill wine and I had to wait at least 20 minutes to ask for water refills). Was a work event so I didnt pay but if I had I would have been upset at lack of service considering how pricey this resort is. I had lunch and dinner here. At lunch no one offered soda or beverages other than water and water was never refilled. Dinner was family style. Salads/apps were nothing special and main dishes were boring. Overall an average experience for both meals and solidified I would not pay to dine here.
Great food, great service, but a little bit expensive. I loved the decor. It is suitable for a special occasion. Quiet and elegant.
Its 5 star dining experience.
Lost our reservation after credit card taken. Then told them Birthday but no special thing done. Salad way too lemony, screwed up drink order, portions too small! $300? Really? Beware and plenty of other great dining in Chatham! And rude!
Very poor quality of customer service and concierge. My boyfriends mom set up a reservation for my birthday. They messed up and schedule us the night before , then try to fix it. When we came in that night , the hostess had an attitude and said we didnt have a reservation and were very rude. We then explained that there was a mix up that was taken care of previously and that we gave our credit card info and told them that it was a birthday and one guest has a severe food allergy. So this situation entails how disorganized this facility is and is considered extremely unacceptable. I have been coming here for years and disgusted by the staff and quality . Would no longer recommend to anyone. Also server was inexperienced and didnt know much about the menu.
I didnt think the reviews were right, but they were. Our server had quite the negative attitude, blaming being short staffed when I saw 10 employees minimum serving 40 total guests in 3 hours. He was inattentive and never checked once how our experience was. They tried to turn tables quickly and brought drinks we did not order, and then acted surprised when I called them out on it. The dishes were ok, but lacked flavor. Support staff was fabulous. It might still be the best place in Chatham but it was mediocre at best in general. I enjoyed Bluefins much more.
Food lacked flavor Small portions Pricey
