We love the cozy feeling that we have when we go there. Not a long wait time for the food. The staff is very friendly. Definitely a place to go to and not break the bank. The food is amazing.
We brought a group of 17 to Yianni’s on Saturday evening for a celebratory dinner. We had gathered old friends together for a vow renewal for my wife and I, and an unofficial college reunion. Some of the attendees we hadn’t seen in decades. Your wait staff was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious! Kudos to the kitchen, who pulled it all off with style. Freshly baked bread, oysters, well prepared and presented appetizers and mains, fantastic seasonal cocktails, and just the perfect ambience. Thank you for making our little gathering a success and helping us to create more lasting memories. Huzzah!
Great food, great service. A quiet venue where a couple can speak and be heard at normal conversational volume. Our server, a very pleasant young woman, was attentive without being intrusive and she was accurate and prompt. I ordered the special menu items of Broccoli and cheddar soup plus the Meatloaf and au gratin potatoes. My wife had their "Layered" Chicken Cordon Bleu. Both were seasoned perfectly. While my meatloaf portion was reasonably sized, one could easily feed 2 or 3 people with the Cordon Bleu serving! We brought 2/3 of that home for further enjoyment later this week. Can't wait to go back!
A group of people that my husband knew in school met here tonight. We had a fun time talking & eating & talking & eating. The food was delicious and the portions generous. Our server was a lovely young woman who was just the right amount of "attentive." I hope to return soon.
I have driven past so often and never stopped. My dinner was great this evening. I had the Thai Chilli Salmon and it was cooked perfectly as I asked. Lovely meal. My friend enjoyed hers, cocktail and coffee was good and the desserts were wonderful. Prices were in line with other restaurants of the same caliber....not cheap but not ridiculous. Our server was efficient, professional and friendly. A great first experience and I will dine there again!
We started with the calamari it was very tender and it came with a milder spiced sauce and red cherry peppers and jalapeño peppers. My wife had the goat cheese and apple salad with arugula and salmon. She said it was delicious and I had the black and blue burger with bacon, avocado, tomato, and onion along with sweet potato fries. It was delicious if we come this way again we will definitely stop.
Went in to order food to go the waitress was super helpful and nice there was live music the atmosphere was fantastic the food was great the fried chicken is amazing potatoes are great the beef tips were a bit fatty disappointed about that but would go back to try other things
This has become our go to place. They have great straightforward stuff like burgers and fried chicken but then they have everything else! The menu is really extensive. Last night I had scallops with mac & cheese and it was ridiculous. My wife loved the fried chicken!
Great place with great food. Staff was friendly. Nice old building love the atmosphere Food : 5/5
Food is always amazing.. atmosphere is great.. ive been here over a dozen times with no issue till last night.. the only issue i had is the service.. our waiter was very rude on 2 occasions and wasnt attentive at all to our table she was more focused on a large party in the back.. 20 minutes to get a drink.. another 15 to get silverware after our salad was brought out.. I know they are short staffed but that level of customer service very odd for tgis establishment. Definitely will be returning but definitely concerned.. especially on my fathers birthday dinner... sorry but this is an honest review
Love the atmosphere in the old building and all the work that has been done to accommodate a great experience. The seafood is fantastic as is the entire menu, and the service from the girls at the bar is always great!
Excellent food, excellent portions, prices, and service from Winter, Haven, Michelle & especially Lenny.
Yannis is always reliable for good food, service and wine. I was there for a multi class reunion and they had good food for us, a fully stocked bar, servers and the full use of all of the rooms downstairs, which made for a great party.
fun local restaurant!
Find a nicer place to eat in the area with good food and a reasonable price. I think not.
interesting place from a historical point of view. But as an establishment its so-so
Very nice casual atmosphere. Service is always super. Good variety menu plus specials. Food is always great. Enjoyed the Maryland crab cakes this visit.
Really enjoyed mothersday brunch with family. First time there will be back soon
Thank you so much to the Yianni s crew for hosting a beautiful post-funeral luncheon for my family. You provided us with a great space to gather as a family and reminisce. The food was fantastic too - I appreciated the delicious sandwiches and fresh veggies. You not only excelled as a restaurant but also as warm and compassionate humans. I can t recommend you all highly enough, and will stop every time we re in town from now on.
Had a great dinner there tonight. The BLT salad is excellent. Beautifully presented and really tasty. Hope it s still on the menu when we come back.
Very crowded for the holidays, but the service was excellent
Great staff and good food and bar.
The dining room looked beautiful when we walked in but we chose to eat in the tavern side. Maybe thats where we went wrong. The table was not clean and there was food on the floor, a bad start. Wait staff a bit slow, especially clearing and getting the check. Spring mix salad was fresh but bland dressing and I enjoyed the trout almondine, however the veggies were tough as was my wifes chicken Marsala.
First time going to yiannis and Chatham. I was there for a friend of mine 70th surprise birthday party The waitresses were pleasant, did an excellent job. The food was superb. I really enjoy the salmon. It was cooked perfect. Very tasty the bar. Good company too. Nice bartenders. Very friendly and he atmosphere was a nice warm place to go to. I would definitely have to come back for dinner on my own and I recommend to anyone as well worth the trip
Excellent Easter brunch!! Great service and terrific food!!
Shrimp scampi was all right. The service is the reason to go. Service was awesome.
Huge menu options to select from and always enjoy sitting out on their covered porch.
only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I have only been there once so unsure of their consistency. but with that being said dinner was excellent!!! went with a friend and we both left there saying we want to go again with our significant others the dining room is eye catching, the food was amazing and filling, my cocktail was tasty. we had.. buffalo chicken rolls ny strip mahi mahi
We ate Yianni s for the first time after attending a show at the MacHaydn Theater. The restaurant was not full at the time we were seated. When we were seated, it took quite awhile to receive our drinks. The food was very good - my wife and I both ordered one of the specialties for the night: shrimp risotto. It was very good. Our chief complaint was the slowness of the staff serving the drinks and dinner. When we were ready to leave it took an inordinate amount of time to get the waitress s attention and request our check. I gave the rating four stars because I did not want take away the quality of the food because of the service. Parking: Parking may be a problem if the restaurant is full.
Awful experience all around. Went for a fancy seafood dinner, only to be informed they were out of oysters. We had also called ahead asking about the escargot appetizer, told they had it, but they did not upon our arrival. We ordered a few dishes to try - steamed clams (broth was pure salt but clams were tasteless), Ceasar salad (dressing too acidic and burnt tongue), mussels in spicy chorizo sauce (broth was good, but mussels had no flavor and it seemed as though the broth was poured in. No chunks or chorizo or anything), and crab and lobster stuffed tilapia...this was the worst. Tilapia was bland and white, obviously not stuffed - too thin a fish, mashed potatoes were clumpy and flavorless. The food was just abysmal. On top of that we had a wobbly table, a rude waitress, and the rolls that come complementary were hard and cold. We will NOT be returning.
Yianni s has the best location in Chatham and due to that has the most potential. Live in the area and never go there because every time the food is terrible. Decided to give it a try again tonight, couldn t even eat the food because it was that bad and the bill was over $100. Oh and one of the workers was standing around the corner smoking cigarettes as guests sat on the deck with children. Here are a few pointers: Specialize in one area, you could cut your menu by 90%. Catch up with the times. Offer quality beer and wine rather than generic offerings. If you want to compete with the other restaurants on Main Street, buy quality ingredients. If it sits in the freezer for 6 months, it might not be good to serve.
Good service. Food delicious. Staff flubbed order but covered nicely.
Had a small family get together for dinner. Everyone enjoyed the meal, the decor and the service. Will definitely plan a return visit
great food. love the fire place. plenty of seating.
Great food and service!
We enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner including, oysters on the half shell, crab stuffed cod, seared Ahi tuna!
Went to a birthday party there and the food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to the dinners. The wait staff was also very attentive!
We often meet here for lunch the service is always spot on The food is the best in that area today i had a blt saiad and it was delish the price is perfect We are going back for easter brunch and very much looking forward
Nice atmosphere. The food was great. Pleasant staff. As everything else these days, overpriced.
Went for our wedding anniversary dinner. The server was pretty good and attentive. We did not order any alcohol but we were seated near the bar and it too way to long for the bartender to pour 2 diet sodas. The food was ok at best. Wife ordered twin lobster tails and they were so salty they tasted as if they came from a salt pack. I ordered the beef tips. The meat was cooked as I requested but there was cheese sprinkled all over them that never melted. The vegetables were cooked as they should be. Table tops were the old wood style that were varnished. Over time the varnish breaks down and remains sticky all the time. Spent most of the dinner with my hands in my lap or otherwise they were adhered to the table. All in all the establishment is in a very nice old building with a lot of history. The bar area was nice as well. We only spent $100 for the 2 of us. Not the worst experience we ever had.
Went to Easter buffet, spent 40 bucks per head and was sent upstairs to the back corner. We made reservations in advance, only to eat on what looked like a card table with clear plastic cups as our setting. Service was awful, they should be embarrassed. We waited 20 minutes to order drinks that didn t arrive to our table until after we finished our first plate. There was a long line to the buffet only to find there was little food to pick from. We slowly went through a line of empty trays. Of what was left, was either cold or was store bought (desserts). A little girl at the table behind us complained of only eating watermelon and sausage, not because she was picky, but because it was all that was left. The second trip down was unsuccessful due to a long line forming to obtain plates. We then asked for the check, waited another 20 minutes and ended up just paying at the bar. We left angry with not even an apology. Very trashy place that charges for upscale dining. Edit in response to the owner: Stop telling us that you would have accommodated us, when you couldn t! We watched another table asked to be accommodated and the response from the service was that there were NO open tables downstairs and they had to sit at the bar. How would you expect an 80 yr old woman with us to sit at the bar? The point is, which you stated, you overbooked. You were greedy, plain and simple. You didn t have to take on the extra reservations and we paid for your mistake. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that are open, we CHOSE to go to Yiannis because on the other occasions in the PAST it was a great experience. We paid over $240 for your response to us is to be considerate?? Why do I need to lower the value of my hard earned money to compensate for your restaurant s poor quality service and food? Nah, at least some of us will go elsewhere to a restaurant who actually wants to keep their name. Good luck with your future business, with your responses to us and your other customers, you will certainly need it.
We were not acknowledged when we arrived. We asked the busboy if there was anyone to seat us. After being seated we were ignored and eventually got the attention of a person who seemed to be wait staff who indicated that she would find someone. The attention to customers was poor. Our drink order took a while to be delivered. Their excuse was that they were busy. After completing our meals the empty plates sat on the table. The food was not exceptional but okay. I rate this establishment as 2.5/5.
Its tricky to give an accurate rating because my food experiences here over the years have been so varied. For instance, I went to a family members wedding recently and Yiannis pulled out all the stops, the food was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised. I had the duck and it was soo good. My most recent experience after that, I ordered a new item on the menu, chicken saganaki, (which comes with shrimp but I asked for it without, which was no problem for the kitchen), but it really was not very appealing in appearance or flavor, overkill on the feta cheese. My husbands burger was meh. The food is overpriced as well. On the positive side, they have expanded their menu recently, which is good because the menu was a bit limited before. I dont know if its due to a particular chef or the dish itself, but some dishes are very enjoyable, some not, its unpredictable. The place has a lot of character, it really reminds me of an old-time boarding house, I love to have a drink on the veranda in summer or eat inside by the fireplace or at the bar during the winter holidays. The service can be slow or indifferent, and the food a mixed bag, so without the atmosphere, you can get a better quality meal at Chatham grill and more interesting selection at Peoples Pub.Its a shame because so much can be done with the space, like at my cousins wedding, but the inspiration is lacking.
Stopped There for dinner with my fiancé last night without reservations hostess Saif she was going to try to put it somewhere .. Sat down inside And inside was around a quarter capacity or less looking at all the empty tables outside was around half capacity looking of all the empty tables. I don t know if there was a floor manager but I saw no one the circulated and asked if everything was good the service was ridiculously slow Which is too bad because the food was very good except my Order in which I had selected rice but received mashed potatoes. There was no need to get that corrected because I want to get home at some time that night. The table across from us had no water or drinks for a half hour the table next to us sat down 15 minutes ahead of us and was served their food and no drinks.. The waitress never asked us if we wanted something else or something extra except for dessert and offered no explanation for slow service on with the bartender had told me when I walked up for a second drink that they were understaffed that night and we re surprised it was that busy which sounds ridiculous to me because it s a Saturday night whoever the owner is and who s ever going to respond to this but They need to get their act together because you are going to get a reputation of extremely slow service.. If nobody believes this statement you can check your cameras and see how long it took for people to get served once they sat down.. very unprofessional We will not be returning
A major shout out to Ginny for making my husband Ed s 80th celebration fabulous! From the set up of the table on upper balcony to beverages/lunches and cookie platter all went perfectly! And who ordered the beautiful day today Thank you Ginny and her helpers
Was disappointed this visit. Hostess was not available to seat us. I had to go to the bar area to inquire where she was, as the line got longer at the door. Our table was not fully set, missing a plate. Our server was sub-par, for service. Also our drinks and meals were lacking. The one person who had any kind of motivation was the water/busboy, Carter. He took care of his duties and that of the hostess. He never stood still. Give Carter a raise, he deserves it!!!
Food and waitstaff was terrific! Lovely place also.
Great food as always
Not as expensive as it looks
Burger was a grease ball and lacked flavor. Our booth was fly central. Bathroom was extremely unclean. The rolls were stale. Will not return
Its the best place for lunch in Chatham .. fresh ingredients... Pleasant servers ... Usually appropriate music for light atmosphere... Excellent business lunch place
Consistent: excellent greek salad
The food was wonderful and the staff was friendly and was always available
Had the chopped BLT salad and it left a lot to be desired. Way too dressed, many brown bits of avocado, and barely any bacon. My son also got the BLT and the bacon on his was BURNT. I am all for a crispy piece but wayyy past. As in, I really thought there wasnt any in it. Then got Crème brûlée and there was literally NO brûlée to speak of. In a rush so only reason I didnt speak up.
Enjoyed lunch with Susan.
Amazing food, and amazing drinks. Our waitress Terri was super sweet, and the hostess Cassie was super sweet too. 10/10 would absolutely recommend
Food was delicious as always. Was not busy so service was quick. Friendly as always. Soup was superb.
Food is very good for the most part. I feel the restaurant tries to be more high end then it actually is. The food could be on the higher end scale but the restaurant tends to feel like more of a sports bar, unless you are here for and event. They need to fix the lights. The dimming on and off during meals is obnoxious and I am not talking about them dimming the lights at 4pm. Your new lights need to be fixed.
Great environment..great food...great people
The roasted beets salad with blackened salmon was to die for!!
Food was great and came out nice and hot. Nice cozy atmosphere.
Horrible. We called ahead of time inquiring about food allergies because many in the family have them. We were told they can accommodate anything. We make a reservation for 10 for a holiday dinner. We were given a 3 yr old menu that advertises the place as a sushi bar. They are not a sushi bar. We were told gluten free items were marked as such. Open the menu, no GF marks. No gluten free items. No GF bread or pasta. Waitress knew absolutely nothing about the menu or food items or food allergies. We asked to speak to the chef. We are told he is too busy. We wait over an hour for her to come back. She hasn t taken our order, and the kids are getting fussy and we STILL do not have enough information to order. I pulled the waitress and said Look we made reservations here for Easter because you said you can accommodate us, but you cannot. Had we known, we would have gone elsewhere. We have kids with allergies. Do you want sick children at your restaurant? Because that s what is going to happen. She then tells us the whole menu is GF which is a horrible thing to say because you can seriously injure someone. I ran down every item on the menu and pointed out why what she just said was not only untrue but dangerous. She finally brings the chef out. He acts disinterested and rude. And is just trying to get away from us. Keep in mind the restaurant is not busy. He basically tells me that in order to make things gluten free, he just removes ingredients from the dish while still charging full price. At this point the whole family is hungry and our order has not been taken after 1.5 hrs. We order salads instead of entrees and the kids get a steak and a burger with no bun that also came with no lettuce or tomato. Steak was burnt BLACK and inedible. It was hard and the burger was not tasty. We paid several hundred dollars for this experience and it really put a damper on our holiday. Terrible, horrible, wretched, dangerous, and I will never go back. We made reservations weeks ahead of time and we told they could accommodate our allergies. They lied to us to get business and then endangered us by not taking our food allergies seriously and telling us there were no allergens in the dishes we inquired about. Overpriced. FOOD ALLERGIES BEWARE!!!
Good food. Nice staff
Was hoping for Greek specials, considering the name. We went for lunch and were so underwhelmed. The onion soup was hearty and flavorful, and thats where it stopped. My salmon/whitefish burger had no flavor and sat in my stomach like a bowling ball. My wife ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. Not much flavor and no imagination or effort to make this a good sandwich. Despite this disappointing lunch, I would consider going for dinner. Hopefully it would measure up.
I would give this place 3 1/2 stars. Will have to go back to try more food to rate higher as had mixed feeling about food. They came out with bread basket which was fresh and warm, delicious French bread with whipped butter. We got the Escargot appetizer and it was very good.. Ordered the soup du jour which was cream if broccoli amd loved it. Order vegetable tempura and hated it. They should rename it as deep fried cauliflower. I was expecting the Japanese style tempura which thus definitely was not. It was greasy deep fried balls of cauliflower and no other vegetables; was very disappointed. My kids ordered two pasta dishes which they seemed to like, I tasted the penne and ut tasted good. My husband ordered Greek salsa which was a good size and looked good and the salmon which was good. Ordered creme Brule and it came with a fruit sauce on the side and what tasted like homemade whip cream... I liked it. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality. If it wasnt for the well drinks and terrible tempura would have rate higher. I would recommend to try. Atmosphere is nice old decor.
Excellent food and service. Make sure you call for reservations
Loved it
Food was excellent, as usual. However they were out of many menu items.
Food here is very salty! I was really looking forward to my pasta dish but I didn t enjoy it because it had too much salt in it. I also overheard a woman sitting behind us say the same thing about the dish she ordered.
Best restaurant and staff anywhere
Went in and there was not a single person eating inside the building there were only people eating on the outside, and when the waiter stormed over he had a very rude/unfriendly demeanor asking us if we had a reservation. He then told us it was reservation only. There was literally no one eating inside, so you are losing customers. I get not accepting walk ins if there were people who reserved eating there, but there was literally no one eating in there. What a joke, not going here again.
Ordered oysters should have gotten a dozen because 1/2 dozen wasnt enough. Enough said ! Rose was yummy !
They have some delicious dishes
Good food and great customer service.
The food is awesome. The service was terribly slow. I didnt have a drink for most of my meal.
This is one of those places that give you a huge dish with a tiny bit of food in the middle.. thats ok, it was too salty to eat any way. They must cater to the NY City people because I cant see local people paying those prices for that little bit of food...very pricey...Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else.
Good meal, nice staff. Would go back.
I have been a server for many years and in the sales business for over 30. We had my sisters wedding dinner here and the service was absolutely horrible. We waited 25 minutes just for our drinks, then when we had waited 47 minutes for dinner to come and all of it was like warm or cold. We wanted dessert but was afraid how long we had to wait to get it so we passed...save your time and go somewhere else
The restaurant is charming with a great atmosphere. Try the buttermilk fried chicken and garlic mashed potatoes..delicious!
Its always a good place to go but last time wasnt .service was slow n there was only 6 cold there...
On-porch dining, appealing menu, excellent food, attentive service.
Nice to sit outside. Food is okay.
Food was good tho clams were over cooked
Food is delicious! Service is excellent! Definitely recommend dining here.
Best place in town for dinner and drinks!
TRY THE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE PIE
Food and wait staff are bad.
Excellent meal, great atmosphere. wonderful waitress.
No longer a sushi restaurant.
Very good food, nice family or business atmosphere.
Consistently Great Fare. Party of 6 were all more than pleased with our dinner selections. Looking forward to our next visit.
great service and great food
Yum...yum.....yum
Good service. Good food. Interesting choices on menu. Nice ambience. But expensive.
Absolutely delicious and service was great
The food was good, with slight reservation for overdone asparagus and only one softshell crab for $26. Service was charming, if a bit slow
Friends from out of town were impressed with food and wait staff. Always nice to stop in there for a meal.
Excellent
Beautiful surroundings, good service but food was only so-so. Beet salad was good but the added chicken tasted like it was store bought pre-cooked chicken that was awful.
Had my bestfriends fundraiser party here for her kidney transplant. They were fantastic.
Good food, friendly staff, and cute place!
A www+a aa
We went for dinner on Saturday evening. After all of the reviews, I had to wonder if I was at the right restaurant. I ordered oysters on the half shell. They were muddy, gritty and warm! Presentation - white Pyrex baking dish with not enough room, my pasta was so greasy and the scallops were the size of peas. Clearly cooked way too long. And are you ready for this? We were served two[2] one inch pieces of bread slices from a baguette. I watched others as they opened the neatly folded napkin in the ornate basket and burst out laughing.. The other party ordered creole muscles - 8 shells were empty. And no they were not at the bottom. The only saving grace was our server who was excellent.
Great restaurant in a historic building
Excellent food..excellent service .. was on the Pike when we searched for a local eatery close by .. so glad we stopped in..
I wasted 30 dollars on a plate of flavorless sea food Alfredo and whats worse I asked for lobster scallops and shrimp I got 2 shrimp and no lobster a thing full of sand and no never again the bar across the street has better sea food Alfredo ohh and clams that I told her not to put in it so thanks so much
Good food. Great ambiance!
Food was great.
The salmon was absolutely delicious. Nice wine selection. Excellent service. Very nice atmosphere.
Good food. A little pricey for what you get for the area but it is worth the occasional splurge.
Food is always good and the staff is attentive
Good meal and service. Nice atmosphere. Will go again.
Great service /Good food
Great sushi
Great food, catch of the day and green roll especially superb.
Food was great however the place was loaded with FLYS to the point it was annoying.
Great service! The food is wonderful!
Great food, very nice staff. Good prices.
A perfectly delicious meal for my daughter and I this Sunday. Morgan was a great bartender waitress. Alex prepared twin lobster tails served on garlic mashed with fresh vegetables. Drinks were exciting fall concoctions. I speak for my daughter as well. Tonight I ate the beet salad and had their lemon cake for dessert and was just as happy. Great menu!
Tried to eat here tonight..man at front end acted like a party of three was inconvienent despite many empty tables. Not the first unwelcoming visit we have had at the establishment but this will be our last.
Food was delicious and the service was good.
Very nice upscale Restaurant. Pricy menu but a treat for this area. Full bar daily specials. Sushi available. Very tidy and neat and quiet location. Hard to find from the outside. Most locals know it as the Chatham House. Menu is mainly American style with some nice fish and seafood selection when available. Surprising as the owner is Greek and some nice greek dishes would be welcome. Outdoor seating. Some space for larger private gathering. Current wait staff is lacking in fine dining skills or much knowledge besides what they know of the menu and frequently need to refer back. Free WiFi and parking if available.
Excellent meal and establishment. You wont be disappointed. Nancy and I both had the Beef Tips Special, with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, green beans, cauliflower, and shallots. Rolls right out of the oven! All I can say is Yummy.
Yannis was the infamous Chatham House converted into a beautiful small town restaurant with a lovely dining room and Tavern area. The menu offers a wide range of fare + sushi made to order right at the bar you can watch your food being made
Its a great place for a comfy meal together.
Yiannis is yummy
Wonderful food! Prices are reasonable.
Great food
Great place to eat
Always a great place to dine. Food prepared to perfection. Gorgeous setting and dining room. Well worth the trip to Chatham.
Always a great place to dine ...especially the nights Bill is tending bar. The wait is minimal for your drink no matter how crowded the bar. The food is dependably top notch
One of my favorite lunch places! The avocado BLT is incredible!
Good sushi. Needs to improve the atmosphere. Outside seating is good.
Not sure what they are trying to convey, but I smelled wannabe snob. Sadly, table setting and waitstaff arent quite right. Hint: serve from the left, remove from the right. Whats money look like? Ninja, PLEASE! Im stacked but Id rather chill at Applebees with the BlackEyedPeas than eat with fake wannabe rich.
Disappointing. Clam bellies were all breading on two occasions, escargots had no garlic, uninspired and overpriced.
This place is awesome
Took me a while to try the new Yiannis. Very pleased to find the menu included sushi. Our group of four shared a sushi assortment and everyone was happy. The food was fresh, well-prepared and satisfying. A real treat! Service was friendly and efficient. Theyve done a nice job in the renovation of the space - the tavern room is still charming and cozy and the main dining room attractive and comfortable. Ill be back!
