Food was delicious, service was great. A bit pricey but would go again. Only complaint, website sd they opened at 11. We travelled an hour, arrived @ 11;30 and had to go elsewhere to go to the bathroom as they didnt open until 12.

I had probably the best steak I ve ever had. It was nicely topped with blue cheese and a smoked tomato chutney. Cooked medium, spot on. Waitress was able to suggest an excellent wine pairing. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the city.

Friends came to town and we chose this restaurant mainly because it was Portuguese and looked posh. I went a month before to check it out first and that was the clincher. The food was authentic and delicious. I had the lupini beans and the chicken dinner. So good. The wine selection is top shelf if you want it to be. You have choices which is refreshing. So when my friends came to town I took them to dinner. The staff treated us like rock stars. They made our night truly amazing. So this time I had the lamb ... Superb... Recommend this restaurant. And the red pepper dip !!! My friends raved about Chatham having a good time and said they loved the restaurant. They were in Portugal over the summer and it reminded them fondly of Portugal.

Service very slow, Ive been to Portugal and never had such lame dishes. Will not return. Better food in Leamington!!

Ribs, over cooked, warmed up taste. NOT GOOD. Vegatables and potatoes were great.

It wasn t a good experience, they brought every out too fast, before I finished my soup, there was salad which I didn t finish cuz my dinner came, it was extremely rushed. I won t go back and the food wasn t even that good.

My wife have dined here 2 to 3 times before today and enjoyed it immensely.Service today was excellent but unfortunately my meal was below par. The chicken was over cooked and dry .The ribs appeared reheated. Maybe dining at 4pm was not a good idea. I havent scratched Churrascaria off my list but it will take some time together over that visit.

Amazing food! Amazing Atmosphere!

Wouldnt know the taste of the food because I had the door shut in my face walking in at 8 pm when the business advertised open till 9 pm . Was. Fully willing to spend great money to dine there but if you turn away customer early then the public should be made aware and hold you accountable for your actions in this review. If you close at 8 and not 9 let the public know your true hours of operation on a Saturday night.

Churrascaria Steakjouse & Takeout is a fabulous, family-owned Portuguese restaurant in the Chatham, Canada area! Our family was made to feel welcome and right at home during our dining experience. Lovely atmosphere for the family, or a date-night out with someone special! Group parties and events would be terrific to host here- chic and hip, yet classy, with a nod to Portuguese culture. The food is spectacular! Excellent Portuguese dishes to choose from, and delicious wine selection. Owners and staff are top-notch! They go above and beyond to make your dining experience wonderful. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I had the steak and seafood special and it was DIVINE! House salad was terrific! Hubs had prosciutto wrapped steak and it too was terrific! Both steaks were cooked as requested medium and it was a very nice change to go for a nice dinner and have it be ALL that and MORE!

I went for dinner by myself, the hostess girl sat me by myself in the other room when was room in the one I want ito be . I told her I wasn t to hungry and she told me the dishes were small portions , so I get the calamari and she say is so small , so in order salad and salmon. Wow what a mistake she lie the dishes was huge portions , and I have to take the salmon for to go. Then she was rushing me with the bill when I m a slow eater . She brough the bill with out asking me and I still want a tea and dessert for to go . Terrible service :(

I think this is Chathams best breakfast restaurant. Their takeout dinners are so good. We have had dinner here as well. Very satisfying serving sizes. There is a patio out back, nicely protected from the elements.

Fantastic place food is excellent

I had steak & 1/2 lobster, made to perfection. Parking: Theres a limit parking spot if its busy, but if its not busy u have a choice to park. Kid-friendliness: Staff is really awesome with my grandson.

We love stopping in when in Chatham. Both lunch and dinner are delicious. Large portions and priced right. The atmosphere is very welcoming and makes a nice date night. Always friendly service.

Nice place but prefer Casa Bella and Zees

Visited with visibly impaired family member twice, several months apart and staff remembered us and were courteous and accommodating. Food was delicious.

There are not enough superlatives for this place! I have high expectations when I go here based on past experiences, and they always exceed them! My only recommendation would be for them to be open whenever I am driving through the area. Just kidding. Take off the time. You deserve it! Such a great dining experience every time! On my last visit I had the salmon bowl to me. it was fantastic! The only thing better than the food is the exemplary service! Vegetarian options: I am technically a pescatarian which allows me to enjoy the excellent fish and chips and the salmon dishes. Either option is incredible and recommended!

Do yourselves a favor and get an already roasted chicken from sobeys. Its 100 times better and not reheated.

Bad customer service, under cooked.

This local restaurant is absolutely fantastic. We had an incredible lunch with options that were unique, delicious and generous in terms of the portions. Such good vibes with the surroundings. I also recommend their take out which was fresh and super delicious. You will not want to miss this local gem!

Fantastic even for a vegetarian

I had no expectations when I impulsively went into Churrascaria Steakhouse, looking for lunch with some colleagues before driving back to Toronto. It was busy, though, which made me curious about it. Two of us had club sandwiches and one guy had the Portuguese chicken. Can a club sandwich change your life? Maybe. First of all, the portion sizes are generous, but thats really only appreciated if the food is good - and the food was fantastic. Our colleague from the UK couldnt believe the size of the side salad, or the sandwich, or the presentation of the dishes. The prices were reasonable, too - about $20 per person for A LOT of good food. Well done. If youre there, do not be afraid to go into this place.

One of Chatham-Kents best restaurants. It never disappoints. Great soup, famous chicken, steak is always perfect, variety of sea food options and good wine. Highly recommended.

Firstly, the restaurant had a great atmosphere. The appetizer was delicious, we had the prosciutto flat bread. We noticed that all the tables around us were being served fresh buns and butter, we were not given or offered any, not sure if that was something that had to be asked for, but we didnt notice it on the menu. We came from Windsor to try it as we had heard good things and checked out the menu and reviews prior to coming. I already was set on getting the lobster and steak as I had seen the photo online and thought it looked delicious. I also looked over the menu prior to coming and that sounded great to me. The menu online stated it was a 3 ounce lobster tail with a New York steak. I was surprised to see a half a lobster arrive as my meal rather than the 3 ounce lobster tail I expected. My dining partner order the rack of ribs and the 6 ounce chicken, when the meal arrived my dining partner noticed a very long piece of hair on the ribs. We waited for the waitress to come back and showed her and she apologized and took the plate back to the kitchen saying another would be made. A few minutes later the new plate arrived, she said that the hair was a hair that had fallen off of the basting brush. I have never seen a basting brush with foot long bristles that curl but either way new ribs were provided. The chicken said it would be a 6 ounce piece of chicken. The chicken looked about 3 ounces and was very dry and thin. A small bite was tried and found to be too dry for their liking. However the ribs were fall off the bone delicious. Back to my meal...the presentation was beautiful, but it being a half lobster rather than just a lobster tail threw me off. I wasnt sure if I should complain as I already felt sending back the ribs was enough of a complaint. But seeing how my meal was $64 on its own (I got my steak with goat cheese) I double checked the menu to make sure I wasnt expecting a 3 ounce lobster tail when it could have said something else. I double checked and it did in fact state 3 ounce lobster tail so I decided to say something. As the sight of seeing lobster eggs and having the brush them off of my lobster to eat it, (when I tried it as soon as it was bright to my table and brushing the eggs away it was cold, the green guck next to the eggs, the eggs and the lobster being cold completely made me loose my appetite. The steak was ok. I have had better in that aspect as well. I was still hungry as I did not want to eat my meal after the lobster being so unappetizing that I ordered a crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was delicious. When I said something to the waitress I told the her we had came from Windsor to try it. I had been expecting a lobster tail. She advised that the in restaurant menu states 1/2 lobster and brought me over the menu to show me. That they had changed it but had not yet changed the online menu. I explained my choice was made prior to coming as I reviewed the menu in advance as I always like to make sure a place has something I like before I drive an hour to eat there. She apologized for the confusion and gave us the 2 drinks we had free. She said if we wanted to speak with the manager we could call on Tuesday when the manager would be in. I have to say I was quite disappointed in the overall experience. To give only 2 drinks free when finding a hair in one meal and false advertising on the other meal was far from satisfying. We could have stayed in Windsor and ate at red lobster and had a more satisfying experience. I wish we had as I feel the gas and time wasted for such a terrible experience was far from worth it. I wish I had better things to say. My hopes were high and I was very excited to try it out for myself seeing such rave reviews. Along with the awards the restaurant has had in the past.

Being of Portuguese heritage, my wife and I decided to look for a Portuguese restaurant to eat at. Someone recommended this place and we thought we would try it. The food was great and the atmosphere was as well. However, I was expecting to have some traditional Portuguese meals available. To my disappointment I found that the food served was more canadian flared than anything else. Don t get me wrong, the food was amazing but not to traditional Portuguese cooking. Still a great meal nonetheless

Beyond perfect score for this place. Everything was amazing! Its fancy-ish, authentic Portuguese cuisine. I highly recommend the picanha. Huge portions. I loved the ambiance and excellent service. Our waitress, Claudia, was super attentive and friendly. Vegetarian options: The special of the evening was actually a vegetarian dish Parking: Plenty of free outdoor parking. Right next to a motel.

Great food I loved

Simply the best! I have travelled throughout the world (Europe, Canada, USA, South America) and Churrascaria Steakhouse is #1 on my list. The food is absolutely amazing. The staff are excellent. The atmosphere is comfortable, welcoming, and relaxing. I highly recommend Churrascaria. You will discover why this place is very popular. I have friends and family that come from out of town and they always want to go here. I recommend making reservations *in advance* especially on the weekend.

What a beautiful restaurant! The service and food was awesome. Our food was so delicious! I hope to return soon. Returned 3 months later and had lunch. I am so impressed with the service and food here. Chatham you are very fortunate to have such a wonderful restaurant!

Been coming here for several years and have recommended to many. One of our favourite places til tonight. Had reservations for 5pm right when they open. Both bathrooms no soap. Off to great start. Took forever to finally order. Everyone around us seated after us seemed to be tended to but we sit and continue to wait. Ok no big deal but then finally ordered our meals, my entre came with baked potatoe but i asked for loaded, which i always do. Bill came with a full $7 charge for my loaded baked which is on the sides list with a $7 charge. Fine when its an extra add on but not when baked comes with my meal and have to pay price of complete full add on. Couple bucks ok but 7 for a teaspoon of sour cream and 3 bacon bits. Kinda ridiculous petty price gouging if you ask me. Drove 45 minutes for disappointment all around. Afraid this is the last time. Seems to be going down hill and will definitely stop recommending as well. Its the nickel and dime pettiness that s really upsetting and subpar service to top it off.

I already knew that they have great food for takeout-- chicken, ribs-- but eating in, I found that there sandwiches and appetizers are also great. And friendly staff.

My wife and I have been here about 4 times and every time is absolutely incredible, if you get Claudia you are in for a treat. Friendliest server there. The food is always incredible I almost get emotional having such top class food. It s always a shock the the taste buds and always leave excited to come back. The menu food is always fantastic but their daily special and soup make the entire meal an experience that makes you feel like royalty.

New to Chatham & this was the first restaurant here that we ve tried. Went for late lunch. Had messy fish sandwich, Churrasco Club & Portuguese Burger. Everything was delicious. Sandwiches were so big had to take half home. Fries were some of the best I ve ever had. Caesar salad was unique & tasty. Presentation was lovely & the restaurant itself was beautiful. Prices were fair. Waitress was very nice & friendly. Definitely be back:) About a week or 2 later got takeout. Pasta for 2 (linguine, rose sauce, chicken, mushrooms) comes with garden salad, & garlic parm rolls. Pasta can easily feed 4. Rolls were soooo good! Everything was. Absolutely delicious. Can t wait to have it again.

Best Rueben from here to New York. Fries piping hot with dipping sauce. Beer was ice cold. Service excellent! 5 star

As I sit here and hoping I can get out of the booth. My and wife i had a wonderful supper. She Surf and Turf , me chicken and rack of baby back ribs. Very tasty and well prepared our server is very nice and being our first time we will return for sure.

Fabulous restaurant, fantastic food!

Edited: Been here a few times now. I had the half chicken and it was perfectly cooked but have since discovered it taste better without the gravy they automatically add. Hubby had Francesinha Moda do Porta and he said it was delicious. On one visit I had the $53 aged steak. I ve had many dry aged steaks and this had the mustiest taste ever. Would not order again. Not sure about the chefs obsession with peaches in soup.

Excellent food and portions for the price. We ordered for a party of 45 people for take away. We were blown away with all the food prepared. Thank goodness we had take out containers as most people went home with leftovers. The food was delicious, hot and on time when we picked up or order. Thank you to everyone involved. We shall order again!

We ve been here twice in the last few months. I can t say enough about this restaurant. I had the steak with mozzarella and shrimp. The steak was phenomenal!Mouth-watering and delicious. This is our new go-to for a steak dinner. Nice relaxing atmosphere and super friendly staff. We had Claudia as our server. Super helpful and just a delight to talk with. This place is really a hidden gem.

The atmosphere was classy, but loud. The service was 5 *. The food was expensive and mediochre at best. Bland is the word for this restaurant. Well prepared food, nice presentation but bland. Unfortunately I was glad to be finished and wasnt wishing for more. I had seafood tacos with fries and garden salad. Barely any dressing on salad and what was there was watery. Fries were undercooked, Seafood tacos were flavourless with a watery sauce of some kind. I had a Coke with it and it cost $50! Was not worth the money. I dont recommend Churrascaria, and wont be returning.

The food and service was amazing. I had the Special for the day: a brisket sandwich made on beautifully fresh crusty bread with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, a tasty sauce and so much more. The salad served with it was beautifully fresh and delightfully presented with sweet potato chips know top. Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had!!!

I cant say enough good things about Churrascaria. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is amazing and the service... wow. Our server Claudia took amazing care of my table with perfect recommendations on every course and the wine to go with it. We came there without reservations and yet we were treated like the restaurant had been preparing for our visit for months in advance. Her intuition - always coming by just when we needed her - made the experience of eating there very memorable. Between her service and the amazing menu (there are well-thought-out dishes for every diet), it turned a random Thursday night out into a very special evening. Thanks so much to Claudia and the rest of the staff at Churrascaria. Im already looking forward to my next visit.

We just ate here (sept 9) for the first time and it is hands down the best restaurant Ive ever been. I ordered the seafood rice and it was enough food to feed me for a week. They did not cheap out on the seafood. My boyfriend got the special which had soup that was to die for and the most perfect steak. Everything is make in house and the meat is dry aged in from of the building for you to see. I will be returning with everyone I know!!!

My family found this incredible spot during Covid and quickly became addicted to the mashed potatoes. Their chicken dinner and fall of the bone ribs and are fantastic. All 12 of us highly recommend it. Tastes like home cooking at its best and the service is very warm and friendly.

The first time we went we got in right away as no one was there but the winter time you need a reservation. The food was delicious and will be going to celebrate my birthday in January with a reservation. The fish dish was very nice. Parking: Minimal parking for the handicap

We ve had take out from here several times. The food is good, the service I m not so sure! Went there on Saturday and was late for a reservation. It was our fault for being late, but the reception was rather cold and inappropriate. We were told that our reservation was null and void since we had arrived late. We asked if we could come in later or wait and we re told point blank we d be last on the list. We went elsewhere. It is a pity because we had a friend from South Africa and it was her birthday. The lady could have handled the situation better or at least made a bit of an effort, instead of literally throwing us out of the restaurant.

First time for me, wont be the last! Just an awesome dining experience! The atmosphere, the interior design, the whole vibe is so cool. The food? Ohhhh my! Yes! Order that pickerel, order that new York strip...all with garlic mashed potatoes! Our server, Claudia, was fantastic! So pro and had excellent suggestions for us including the bubbly! Thank you Claudia for being part of our experience! Dont hesitate, ask for a booth in the back and enjoy!

I can t say enough good things about this place that would adequately describe how well treated we feel when we come here and how satisfied we are with the dishes Brian and his dedicated team in the kitchen prepare each and every for each and every meal. The worst piece of prime rib I have ever had there. About 80% fat. A couple of big tables came in and we lost our waitress for the entire meal. My meal was discounted.

Awesome spot. Theres so much to say about this Churrascaria. My fiance and I come from Toronto where Portuguese food was a main stay. When I say we come from downtown with Portuguese food I mean like Dufferin and Bloor.(so authentic home cooking and Churrascaria) Authentic authentic food and this stands shoulder to shoulder with some of the fine dining experiences weve had in Toronto. Melanie, was terrific. Like, amazing. Not only did she care to or table efficiently and check in a lot she made us feel super super comfortable about our move to Chatham. She gave us some cool spots to check out and just a pleasant conversation that we had seemed to miss since moving to Chatham. 5 stars for Melanie alone. The food, unreal. That menu is loaded with things that just look phenomenal. Try whatever you can and go back to try some more. We will be back plentyyyyy. Weve had some recommendations of must try spots since weve been over this way and Ill be brutally honest, this is the only one thats not only lived up to the recommendation but FARRRRRR exceeded it. Excellent food and awsome service in a beautiful setting! Love it! You have to go and try it out once!

This place is great. Food is always delicious and reasonably priced. Service is fast and friendly. Decor is nice. Dining room feels quite loud when the restaurant is busy. Facility is clean and presents well. Parking is available, however, not always enough parking to accomodate all patrons. Patio is beautiful. Will return!

Amazing food and service

First time here and I got the Chicken and Ribs combo for 4. It was a lot of food and it was all delicious. Now that I know this place, Ill definitely be back when in Chatham.

This is probably one of my favorite places to take my wife for special occasions. Beautiful/serine atmosphere with affordable prices. The part that makes this restaurant a gem is the chocken/rib family dinners which are affordable and always taste great. You can also order to go. There website us user friendly. The construction out front of this business is even more of a reason to support this locally owned and operated restaurant. Unfortunately I have seen business struggle in the past because of this. Im not sure if that is happening but support local none the less. I promise you, if you decide to go here for lunch or supper you will be amazed. My go to for or showing my gratitude to people whom have helped me with projects are gift cards from this restaurant. Parking: More parking around the back

We were passing through Chatham on our way home to Windsor when we decided to stop for lunch... weve heard about how great the food was...so we stopped in... service was spot on and the food was amazing...the Caldo Verde was just like being at my grandparents house when I was a kid.

Wow wow wow! We were recommended to visit this gem and we are happy we did! Loved the decor. Loved the ambiance! The food was excellent and surpassed our expectations. I had the Cubana sandwich and hubby had the Portuguese hamburger. Both were superb. The presentation was perfect!! We will definitely be back when we are in the Chatham area. We cant wait to check out the dinner menu!

Everything was great.

Went here last night. Not sure if management changed but food tasted different. Asked server and they were adamant is the same. Food came out quick but was undercooked and super chewy. Service was rushed too despite not being too busy. Won t be going again.

Went tonight as this place was highly recommended but was surprisingly disappointed. The menu was mostly NY strip and only had two other cuts, including the special. At least seven different menu items that were all the same NY steak. I prefer sirloin but that wasnt an option so I got the ribeye and lobster special. The special was $54 and included a salad but we had to pay extra for a caesar. The salad had been dressed beforehand so it came out quick but was very soggy. Flavour was good but texture was horrible. We ordered two medium steaks and got one med well and the other rare. Steaks were full of gristle and difficult to cut. The lobster and sides were delicious and very generous. The inside was clean and looked very nice but the AC was off and I was dripping sweat most of the night. Couldnt ask my server for another cold drink or to turn the AC on because she had a huge section elsewhere and didnt come back the entire meal. While it wasnt HORRIBLE, I expected a lot more based on the good feedback Ive heard and the very high prices. This was only $20 cheaper than the best and most expensive meal Ive ever had and this didnt come close. I might try again just to see if it was a bad day but if its the same experience, defintely not worth it.

New favourite place to go in Chatham! Soup was delicious, one of the meals was FRANCESINHA MODA DO PORTO (be hungry if you re getting this), burgers look amazing. I had the prosciutto and Gouda panini-fantastic! Will be our go to next we re in town!

Our experience was wonderful. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and especially the excellent service we received from Cláudia.

What a true high quality meal! Date night, party or survival event, this place is a must. Parking: Felt like a limited amount of parking, but then again, it goes with the amount of seating they have!

The food is impeccable and the service is astounding. Well worth it.

Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. The patio is well laid out. Lots of shade for the hot summer days. Waitresses are well prepared to answer any questions about the menu and also attentive to your needs. 2 thumbs way up. Be back soon

Dinner with colleagues, a little disappointed for my part because I was expecting real Portuguese dishes... nothing original in my opinion. Yes the dishes are more than generous but I came for the Portuguese experience ..

The steaks were fantastic both in the cut and flavor We were a group of 5: 2 shared the Tomahawk 2 had the surf and turf 1 had the special which was the prime rib This sides were terrific Dessert was Creme Brulee top notch We had a great experience

Our day trip today went from the Glasshouse Nursery in the morning to a terrific Lunch at the Churrascaria Steakhouse. Cubano sandwich with Butter nut squash soup and Francesinka Moda do Porto with fries. Deliciously prepared, placed and decorated food. My hungry man could almost not finish his super portion, the Favorite of the Day. Special atmosphere in this restaurant and very friendly service made it a pleasure and we will come back soon. Parking: Arriving 11:45 found a parking spot by the takeout corner.

Very nice place and good food, fair price

Its a very nice interior but overall the food was quite average. A couple negatives were inadquate parking and the very sketchy people in the motel next door.

i didn t even have the chance to try the food cause i call to make a simple reservation and the girl who answered the phone was extremely rude .. i am visiting from Los Angeles california and my wife family are from Chattam. so i thought to take them there for dinner i guess Not !!!! Teach your employees manners !

Really bummed out they no longer serve breakfast, but I always enjoy a Mimosa and a chicken club! Large portions, excellent quality, expensive - however its worth it for what you get.
