Tru's Grill House - Chatham Restaurant in Chatham

I am literally never disappointed when we go here! The took my usual off the menu so when we go, I now get their pasta feature for the night and have loved it every time!

The server was very polite and she ensure to get our order before a big group was scheduled to come in so we would not have to wait so long. Parking: you can park in the location of the restaurant

Valerie did a great job taking care of us, our guests were very favourably impressed. Thank you. Parking: good parking in well lit space.

The service and food was a overall 12/10, the waiter was extremely nice and the food came out fresh and hot. The chicken Oscar was amazing, and so was everything else we had! Definitely going to come back in the future!

I love everything about Trus, the waitresses are ALWAYS super friendly ! There food is always top notch, I have never had a off or bad meal there. The atmosphere is cozy and dark. My fav place in town!

Great food and service

I ordered calamari it cost over $20.00 this dish is not homemade. It probably came in a box and they through it in the oven. It was way over cooked. Very robbery. Cant even chew it. Do not order this.

First time ever trying this place and the garlic bread was absolutely phenomenal! Tons of flavour, baked to perfection, so so good, only reason I cant give 5 stars is that I think $13 for 3 slices is a bit expensive, but Ill 100% be getting my garlic bread from here now, so hard to find a restaurant that makes it right!

We celebrated a 80th birthday luncheon with 7 ladies. Everything was perfect. Waitress was fantastic, food was fabulous and everyone said they would go back to Trus soon.

This was the first day of our honeymoon. Stopped at Trus for lunch and had soup and salad. The food was amazing.

Loree and I celebrated our 41st anniversary at Trus and everything was just so very good. The food was even better than we expected it to be. Great selection of meals and our meals were just so very very good. Valery our server made us so welcome from the time we sat down. She was so pleasant and new exactly when to bring our next course out. That you again Valery for such good service. We will return very soon There are so many good meals to try that I really want to try them all. We had a delicious meal Friday June 14th . Karen was our server and she made us feel so comfortable celebrating our 52nd Anniversary. First time here and certainly will not be the last ! Thanks Karen and Chef for a great dining experience.

We had a group with members from Windsor and London meeting in the middle for lunch. It was great. Our waitress Jen was very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful and I think she had some fun with us!

Best broccoli I have ever tasted. I know it sounds weird to rate a side, but it was so good, I dont know if it was curry or some other spice but it was delish!

It was nice and quiet to chat with our group and the food was all fantastic and reasonably priced. We will be back again! Kid-friendliness: The waitress was fantastic with our kids.

The server was very friendly and accommodating, while the food itself was cooked perfectly with flavours that satisfied every craving! We were from out of town but will make the drive back just to eat here again.

Horrible service. We got seated on bar side, 15 minutes later and still no one came to serve us. So we left and went to a better restaurant and left a nice tip.

The only reason I gave one star is you cant give zero. My wife just had her Christmas party at Tru grill as we didnt have a babysitter I stayed home. I ordered a new York strip medium rare with French fries and salad. The fries were uncooked, and packed covering my steak which was blue at best. Even on the outside of the steak you could tell it needed way more time. I would rather eat out of the garbage at McDonalds then ever go back to Tru grill. Needless to say they also lost a business that has yearly parties. Get a cook that cares about their job.

The best meal weve had in a long time. Everything from the appetizer, salad and then main meal was TO DIE FOR. We dined at a downtown restaurant a couple of weeks ago and Trus was 1000 times better. The staff was awesome as well. Val went over and above to make our experience awesome!! Parking: Lots of spots. Didnt have to go searching like downtown restaurants.

We actually found Trus as the other place we had intended to go did not have a seat available. Best turn-away ever! Right from the moment we walked in, this place is lovely. The staff are friendly and efficient and we were shown right to a very nice table. The food was delicious and the portions are quite generous. I am so terrible with names so my apologies to the lovely lady with the British accent, you were absolutely one of the nicest people Ive spoken with, in addition to being a fabulous server. I hope we do see you again when we come back.

My family and I had dinner there tonight and I have to say it was a very pleasant dining experience. Our waitress was awesome and the food was impeccably prepared and very tasteful. I am vegetarian and I loved the spinach dip and had the house salad and it was flavorful and eyecatching. My fellow diners had steaks and they were perfection on a plate. Great portions and presentation. I would recommend this restaurant a thousand times over.

The server was upset that we returned 1 of the martini the lobster potato skin appetizer was very hard old potato skins made days before so bad it was very hard to find the lobster it was replaced with small shrimps very dry no sauce needed spices or something to give it taste the new york steak was rare and bleeding on the plate and it had no taste no salt or pepper like the menu said the beet salads dressing was ok but the walnuts where old the salmon special would have been not so bad if only the fish was fresh its was old the cook needs to use salt and pepper a little bit more because everything was so bland Tha decor needs updating it looks like the 60s Overall I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone

A very large menu, busy with groups on a Tuesday. Our server was delightful, efficient and attentive.

My wifes meal was terrible supposed coated chicken breast, that was unidentifiable, my strip steak was at best average, garden salads were meager.

A surprising experience. Meal was excellent with good service in a very clean comfortable environment. Ill go again soon! And so I did. Another great meal at a very good price. Excellent service too. Try the cream of mushroom soup which is fantastic as is. But add 4 coffee creamers and its suddenly world class! I wanted 4 more bowls!

My husband and I have been dining regularly at Tru Grill since we moved to Chatham. We have never had a bad meal. Karen our server greets us with a smile and adds to a wonderful dining experience.

Amazing place! Ambiance, food, presentation, hospitality, and waitresses were phenomenal, we will be back every time we come to Chatham for a visit! From Calgary, so its not too often, but I honestly wish this place including staff were in Calgary!!

The food and atmosphere were outstanding. The food service was slow. The server did explain that there was a party of 20 in the restaurant. However, other than that party, we were the only other group. They could have handled the delay in service better, such as bringing our salads and soup out right away or offering an appetizer. Other than that small lapse in service, I recommend this restaurant for date night.

Just gave Trus another try and wow! My complaint about service from a year ago was completely erased by Sara. She was amazing! My wife and father both have diet restrictions, Sara went to speak to the chef twice to make sure there would be no problems with their meals. Service from all of the staff was excellent. Food was great the last time we were in but tonight was the best steak I have had in a very long time, better than The Keg! I will not hesitate to go back again the next time Im in Chatham. Dietary restrictions: Working with allergies that could make loved ones very ill.

Went here with our group of girls for a farewell supper for one girl who is going out to teach in Alberta! The food was absolutely delicious, just the right touch of flavors and spices. For appetizer we tried the lobster potato skins- very tasty! I think everyone was happy with their entree and the service was quick and staff was friendly. Thanks Trus!

My lunch was perfect and reasonably priced..Atmosphere was wonderful. Clean and quiet and our server was pleasant. We were a large group and she got 30 orders perfect..Was really surprised at how smoothly everything went.

The food was incredible as always but the service was so slow. We eaited on average 25 minutes for each drink and were there for 2 hours waiting in items ordered. Out server was friendly but they need more staff on a saturday night.

We were headed to Greenview aviaries when we came upon a storm. We thought we would find somewhere for lunch and Trus came up on our search. First, it is a beautiful establishment. It reminded us of the keg vibes. Plenty of booths and tables, it was clean and not overly busy. Our waitress was a lovely woman who our 1 year old daughter was OBSESSED with. Watched her the entire time she was visible. Such a pleasant experience. Our meals were delicious. We had a soup to share, broccoli cheddar soup was full of broccoli chunks. It was perfect. Then we had two separate orders of pasta - a chicken Alfredo and another with blush sauce, Spinach chicken and mushrooms. The name is not coming to me at the moment but it was top notch. My partner got the cod and chips. He had no complaints and enjoyed it thoroughly. The price point was fair for quality and service. Thank you for such a great experience. We will come back some day to try something else as well.

Had dinner here for a small wedding party. Great food and service. Everyone loved their meals. I had 8oz seasoned steak. Very juicy and tasty. The veggies were really tasty too, lots of flavor.

It had been quite awhile since we hD last been at Trus, how could I forget how good it is. The food was outstanding. Vegetarian options: Mem ers of the family with restricted diet were quite happy. Very disappointing. Was there November 19th 2022 the coffee was cold the steaks my family ordered where luke warm and for a rare steak it was blue for a medium steak it was rare. Not good value. First time trying the restaurant will not be back. Service was mediocre.

As restaurants have been hit the hardest over the past 3 years and are still struggling with staff issue everyone needs to be a little more courteous. Instead of posting on social media I would have brought it to their attention so they could resolve the issue at that time. I frequent this business quit often their food has always been great, servers go over and above to accommodate customers wants and needs.

We went here last night as a group of 8, after hearing some good reviews from friends we were excited.. A few of us got the Peppercorn Steak... without a doubt it was the worst steak weve ever had in Chatham. We all ordered it medium, but some of our steaks were blue rare, others were well done cooked all the way through... appalling quality control by the kitchen. The cuts of meat were cheap, tough sirloin with thick sinew running through the whole steak, terrible quality and WAY overpriced. They are charging New York Strip prices $39.00+ for a trash Sirloin cut, 2 sliced baby potatoes and a small handful of nearly raw vegetables. If you want to have a steak in town, go literally anywhere else but this place, overpriced, under seasoned, weak cocktails, slow service and portion sizes are a joke.

Trus is a solid choice for dinner in Chatham. Its warm inside, the food is good for the price, and the staff are friendly. There is ample parking, and theyre open all week, unlike some of their competition.

Trus Grill House provides fine dining and has a great ambience. Their food is delicious and has a good variety of meal choices with good sized portions. Their servers are very friendly and helpful. Their pesto chicken is very delicious and is suitable for people looking for healthier choices in meals.

My wife and I went there for dinner last night. Stubbled upon it as we drove into Chatham. The food was excellent. My wife said the maple glazed chicken was the best cooled juiciest chicken shes ever had. Service was great. Patio was nice. We really enjoyed our time there. Definitely telling others and will be going back again.

Our family stop by Chatham overnight at Holiday Inn. The hotel restaurant has a long line up. So we decided to look for a nearby local restaurant. We found Trus that is only 1km away. This restaurant has a nice patio. Foods not only look great but taste excellent as well. The waitress recommended us to try the Pelee Island white wine which are also good choice. We were glad to eat here instead of the noisy hotel restaurant. Definitely recommended to anyone visiting Chatham.

Trus grill, was a very warm atmosphere. The server, was courteous and attentive. She seemed knowledgeable of the menu options and was willing to modify my meal if needed. I ordered a vegetable stir fry in pineapple soya sauce served over rice. The menu said sweet pineapple sauce, so, I was expecting a sweet pineapple flavourful sauce, that not the case when I took my first bite. When my server asked, how is everything? Of course I divulged my disappointment. She offered to have my meal remade, but I told her it will make do. I am new to Chatham, only one week here and my first dine-out since my arrival. I am anxiously anticipating my next dine-out experience!!!

The Oscar steak with lobster sauce was incredible! My compliments to the chef today. My medium streak was perfect. The sides were well presented and I could tell it was all freshly made. Great signature item for this restaurant. I will definitely be back for this next time I am in Chatham.

Excellent food and great service. Delicious specials - I had the purple carrot/ginger soup and a chicken dish. Very tasty and vegetables we cooked perfectly. Friend had a pasta and chicken dish - menu option is with lobster and they happily substituted that for chicken. Pleasant atmosphere. Covid protocol in place. We were there on a Wednesday evening and only a few tables filled -support your local restaurants!
