Don’t stay anywhere in Tower B. Rooms are nice but the Wifi doesn’t work at all. Dryer in the laundry room doesn’t work. That would have been nice to know before washing a week’s worth of clothes. Restaurant is expensive and just so so. Kids playing hockey in the hallways all day and night. Expensive, overpriced and hyped. I won’t be back.
The room was a bit outdated as well the hotel grounds. You can hear all the noise from the neighbor room. ||The food was ok, drinks from the restaurant were pretty good. ||There is a funky smell in the carpet, as if it was old and humid. ||The service was not that good.
Called reception 2 times to fix the air conditioning as it was not turning on. First i was told to wait 20 min they are restarting it...God knows what! Called an hour back as it was still cold. A technician came in with some screws...literally did nothing ...so at 12 am, we are still cold while the temperature set at 33 degrees! My son got cold overnight and left the hotel with a bad experience. Good part: Everything else was good!
The best location in town. Close to everything, walking distance to grocery store, mall... Don't like much, as it doesn't have complementary breakfast.
Upon arrival, all was great! The place looks nice and taken care of. The check-in was done quickly and efficiently. However, we received barely to no indication on how to navigate the place. We were assigned a room on the second floor of section B. It's an older building with renos done probably in the 90s, but well maintained. Once in the room, we realized that the AC was not functioning, so we called reception and explained to them the problem and that sleeping in this room is not tolerable in the middle of summer. With a little twist of arm, they assigned us a new room on the 3rd floor. The AC is functional but very buggy. I must say....the rooms are well isolated. Note to all: do not try the old vending machines near reception, they function half the time! Once the night arrived, we went to check out the bar. It was average... clean... and the drinks were decent. Oh yeah... and the little courtyard, including the mini park and swimming pool, was very clean. But, I expect a better equipped park for kids of all ages. On the second day, we decided to try out the swimming pool and Aquafun. Note to all: you must ask for a bracelet for all kids under approx 15yrs old. The pool was clean and well kept. The jaccuzis were somewhat clean.... but comfortable. There are flotties and floating boards available for the little ones. The Aquafun was smaller than the pictures show. But it was OK. Very basic. But be careful. The floors are extremely slippery. Overall, our stay was better than how it started. I would give this hotel a 3stars.
Hotel is expansive. Rooms are fine. Coffee machine, fridge and 3 pillows per bed were provided. TV was great size and channel selection was fabulous. Great spot for families with a lively pool and play area. Dining here was quick and convenient. We would have preferred a quieter or quainter hotel near the Theatre in Saguenay (La Baie).
The only good thing about the hotel was that the beds were comfortable enough. But the layout of the hotel itself makes no sense, the room we were in (2 bed) was tiny (not accommodating of 4 people as advertised). The room had a constant smell that was similar to a locker room. The bathroom had a faint smell of porta potty (probably caused by the dried pee splatter behind the toilet). There were multiple of what one would assume are pubic hairs around the toilet and regular hair in the tub. The carpet had a lot of unknown stains. The pool and splash park were warm but also had a mildew smell. When we arrived for check in (4) the power was out and stayed out for over 4h, we had to make different accommodations on our first night because we are from a different time zone and our kids were exhausted but couldn’t sleep in the hot room. The hotel refused to offer us a discount saying no one else had to sleep elsewhere so why are we special. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel as it’s overall dirty, overpriced, breakfast is not included, & the staff un-helpful.
Great hotel, Spacious and clean room plus nice bathroom. Confortable beds however pillows had a plasticy feel, like there was a layer of garbage bag in there. Interior pool and gym were nice although the sauna was closed and the mandatory pre-swimming shower was icy cold. Outside pool was not yet opened on this 30 degree celcius week. Parking and hotel location was just perfect and close to grocery, gas, pharmacy as well as a few fast restaurants. Great cleaning service and very polite overall staff. I enjoyed the place and would go back.

When I arrived at the Montagnais hotel, I had difficulty finding my room. The room was very clean, a small difficulty with the shower/bath which was made for disabled people so the shower head was too low. But during my night he had a problem with the plow outside and the ceiling moldings fell on me. But its still a wonderful hotel, just dont be unlucky like me

Very nice hotel, owner and courteous service. Be careful when reserving a room for a group. The employees collect your unfinished drinks as soon as you leave your table to go dancing. Then we tell you that it is up to us to watch over our affairs. Sorry but you dont have to pick up my drink if its not finished. At the price you are selling this one for. Food and drinks: The food there is excellent. Drinks are very expensive.
The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Building D is very old, as is the heating/air conditioning system. The pool area is really great; beautiful big swimming pool at a perfect temperature, 2 hot spas, a very cold waterfall, a sauna. Parking is very large and free. The hotel restaurant offers nice meal options. Nice cheap deal in Chicoutimi!

This hotel is a find! Very warm, the staff is attentive, the rooms are correct and very clean, the location is perfect. They also have a magnificent restaurant (the best crème brûlée in the world!) and I praise the staff, who are there to help and accommodate customers requests always with patience and a beautiful smile. We always book at the Hôtel Le Montagnais when we come to Saguenay. This hotel is well located. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is very courteous. The meals at Légendaire are excellent as well as the service. We wouldnt stay anywhere else.

First experience in Saguenay and I couldnt have chosen a better place to sleep. The place is very clean adequate rooms swimming pool and spa the bar downstairs allows us to have fun without running around the city all under the same roof. Very satisfied with my experience at this hotel (reception, service and room). Nearby activities: Very well located and close to all services.
We came in mid-October for 6 nights mainly with the aim of spending time with our son, who came from France to do a year of study at UQAC. We did not come for the Aquafun, the spa, the bar or all the other activities offered but simply for a hotel room. On this side, nothing to say: the rooms are very large and pleasant, clean. A little surprised all the same to have to ask reception in the morning if we wanted the room to be made (remake the bed, clean the bathroom a little, possibly change the towels, put back tea and sugar bags. ..). But in the end, according to the room, it was well done. On the other hand, out of 6 nights, we were woken up 5 nights, around 4-5 a.m., by a super noisy air conditioning system that sent cold air when it was starting to get a little cold outside (impossible to stop it and it only sent very cold air while we were trying to get heat instead). In the end, the reception staff were always very attentive, trying to resolve the problem: we changed rooms 3 times. But all air conditioners had more or less the same problem. The morning of our departure, finish washing and finishing packing with two repairmen who come to see that the air conditioner is not working, there is more practical, especially since they could have come an hour later, when we would have left . And with the addition, on the first evening, the close proximity of an ice maker which also made an infernal noise, with people who kept going to get ice cubes all night long, which meant that this machine did not never stopped. In short, very complicated when you stay several nights. Also a shame not to have breakfast planned with the room. There is certainly the restaurant Le Légendaire, inside the hotel, which offers breakfast, I imagine table service, but it is a little expensive for breakfast. Furthermore, we had dinner at the restaurant one evening and it was perfect (delicious and very friendly staff). In summary, the hotel is very good if you take advantage of the numerous activities that are offered. For us, as a simple place to sleep, it could have been very good too if it hadnt been for the big problems with the reversible air conditioners which prevented us from sleeping properly.

The hotel is located at the top full of restaurants and shops around. The breakfast is very good, the team is always there to take care of us with a smile! The evening restaurant also top. The bar at -1 is really nice and the waitress is so cute. The room was very spacious and very comfortable. A magnificent stay, nothing more to say!
When you call for a reservation at Le Montagnais, the message that rolls out while we are waiting talks about the importance of cleanliness. Well, this concern is very real and can be seen throughout the hotel. Even when you take the stairs, the corridors smell good. We were supposed to spend 2 nights at the hotel. We cut our stay short. The hotel is very noisy, the staff at reception and in the restaurant are friendly and smiling. On the other hand, the floor staff not a smile, not a hello. The location is in the middle of a commercial area so no wow.

Without infamy or praise. As soon as you arrive the hotel seems super luxurious and full of amenities. Its not really like that. I wouldnt go back. Restaurant waiters are not very courteous and cant wait for you to leave, rushing you.
This is not a hotel but a building that looks like low-income buildings! Old what they call spa is more of a local municipal swimming pool! Air conditioners are working tractors! And the rooms overlook the Motel type parking lots, in short, an absolute horror! The restaurant is of average quality, barely fresh! I still dont understand people who give favorable opinions

The hotel is very good except the restaurant. We were served a tiny, overcooked salmon. How come the kitchen staff let this overcooked dish out of the kitchen? How come the waiter didnt realize this when upon receiving it, the poor quality of the dish was obvious? We were offered another dish...meat with tirasse! They adjusted the price for us but we didnt want a special, we wanted a good dinner! It was July 12, 2024.

AVERAGE We got one of the rooms more than an hour and a half late. The refrigerator didnt work. On the day of departure we had to vacate the room at 11 a.m. a cleaning lady knocked on the door at 9 a.m. to ask if we were leaving. Then a second one came in without knocking on the door as if nothing had happened. We only stayed one night Prices at the restaurant were quite expensive

The staff was smiling and very friendly, dont give up on your good work, a team, a strength. The Montagnais hotel is very well located in Saguenay on the main boulevard arriving from Quebec, easy to find with plenty of parking. The room was comfortable, the pool and whirlpools relaxing and the restaurant excellent. Its a good hotel for a short or long stay. Rooms: I had a large room with a large comfortable bed. In short, everything was perfect. Food and drinks: The lunch was excellent, the menu varied and the prices affordable.
Im taking off one star just for the restaurant, because the creamer for the coffee was not good and the butter knife was dirty but really gross. As well as the napkins to dry my hands, I hated them. Apart from that, this Hotel is just wonderful.
Location is right on Talbot Blvd which is great if youre walking around close to everything staff was friendly. Parking depending on where in the hotel you are can be iffy but other than that was an awesome time and free water area if youre staying there makes it even better! Really disappointing stay. Defective air conditioning in 2 suites. I really had difficulty sleeping. Its 24°C in the main room, probably 26 in the bedroom. For the amount paid for 2 nights its frustrating. The hotel really needs renovations. The swimming pool leaves something to be desired. There is no more smoking, difficult to find evening snacks within walking distance. Arcards are very expensive.

Lots of services inside: restaurant, bar, swimming pool and water games, arcades, laundry room (but only 1 washer and 1 dryer must be reserved). There is a backyard with swimming pool, games module, pétanque, basketball. The room was soundproofed and included the necessary items. Check to see if there is a conference if you arrive on a Friday evening or Saturday. The ground floor was crowded at the end of the week. Its a very family hotel. I dont recommend it if you want to be quiet as a couple with a quiet swimming pool, but great for families. Its very well located. Lots of restaurants nearby, even on foot. There is a shopping center nearby. The attractions are 10 minutes maximum (Maison Blanche, Old Port of Chicoutimi).

The hotel is great but in terms of maintenance of the swimming pools and spas it is ordinary... There are big rings on the edge of those!!

We loved our stay. The activities, both indoor (swimming pool, water games, spa, arcade) and in the outdoor courtyard (basketball, module, swing, etc.) were very pleasant for keeping the children busy during mothers meetings. Free Frisbee golf at the University (walkable from the hotel), mini-putt accessible to the golf course and several activities to do at the Moulin River Park (hiking, water games, small zip line,. ..) You will never see me at this hotel again. I booked 2 days for my birthday 2 months in advance. I absolutely wanted the executive suite, which was clearly indicated on my reservation. When I arrived, a bad surprise, I was immediately moved to the spacious suite without telling me, which I hate since you can hear the elevator, which is very unpleasant. At the reception, nothing can be done, they refuse to give me back the suite that I reserved, I am told that the manager will contact me to find an agreement which he never did. I spent the first night not sleeping because of the heating which made a hell of a noise and the second hearing the neighboring room because the walls are very poorly insulated. I took the lunch and dinner package, asking in advance if it is possible to have lunch delivered to the room. I was confirmed that yes, except that in the morning when I ordered room service, I was told that this was not possible. Completely ruined expectations, a more than disappointing birthday especially when I calculate what this disappointment cost me. Really this hotel is very far from what it once was.

We stayed 2 evenings in tower B and I believe it was recently renovated because it was very very clean and the towels were even changed; Its not the first time weve been there, and the staff is so nice, the parking lot is very large and electric car charging stations are installed there. We stayed in 3 hotels during this week and the prices for a motel that I qualify as needing renovation at $164.22 per night were the only one in the area (North Coast) and almost the same price as Le Montagnais. I will go to your house again. Bye.

We wanted to enjoy the pool and spa facilities late in the evening, but UNFORTUNATELY, even at 8:30 p.m. there were kids running and screaming everywhere. Our romantic spa to relax didnt last long! Hotel management should limit access to these facilities to adults after 8 p.m. in the evening so that couples and business people can also benefit. And here, Im not talking about the ownership of the spas... DISAPPOINTING!

I booked a spacious room with 2 queen beds ! We dont have the same size queen bed...! And the same definition of spacious!!! I went back to reception to ask if that was really what I had received and the lady at reception who made me very welcome told me that yes it was indeed a spacious room with 2 queen beds! I didnt mind having it but I didnt want to pay for anything lower!! So if youre thinking of renting a queen bed, its a double!! :( but the staff is very welcoming and the children love the swimming pool!!!

I loved my night. I had a very comfortable bed. I had a spacious renovated room with a king bed. The entire hotel facility was very clean. No apparent breakage. I received very good service.
