Dar Salma Restaurant in Chicoutimi

I was we waited 20 minutes for a meal, There were 6 of us in the restaurant including 4 who were already eating the waiter looked at us very badly as if we were disturbing him. 2 other people who came from a different community came back, took their order and were served in less than 5 minutes. I asked to go to the bathroom and surprisingly the toilet was very dirty. I told the gentleman and he told me that it was done and that the toilet was clean

The good food was there. Shawarma meat and rice was not cooked well. Sorry I dont recommend it.

Couscous not available. Other decent dishes but very abundant sauce and not easy to digest. Average value for money.

I went there a few times and stopped after receiving very small sandwiches that fall apart in your hands, tasteless with questionable meat. Much too expensive for what it is.

I really liked it. It was fresh and delicious. However, today it didnt taste fresh and we all had stomach aches after eating our aciettes (chicken and beef). We dont understand pk, but we wont go back there. Oh, and the toilets were very dirty.

Very disappointing. First of all, I would like to say that I went there 3 times with a good delay between each time before judging. Service 5 p.m.: No customers, the gentleman at reception is friendly but allow at least 30 minutes before being served for a simple shishtaouk. A customer arrived who seemed to know the staff and they passed him in 5 minutes and before us... No preparation, it goes in circles, it watches the chicken turn. In short, maybe they are more motivated in a rush? The food: dry, no sauce, still dry, little taste, super thin uncooked pita that falls apart in your hands... Atmosphere: For the atmosphere, no need to say that you wont celebrate your 40th birthday there. No music, cleaning not super clean. We decided to watch the chicken spin to have fun too...

Very disappointing experience, the falafelles taste just like salt and garlic sauce. I had the merguez plate and it was overcooked... My daughter had a beef sharwaba and it just tasted like blood sausage... If you want to spend your money on disappointing food this is the ideal place to go !!!

Disappointing experience despite good food. We went the first time at 7:30 p.m. (it was written that closing was at 8 p.m.) and surprise, the restaurant was closed. But curious to discover this restaurant we tried again another evening. At 6:30 p.m., it s open! But once again surprise: there is nothing left to eat. We still decide to take what they have left to test and not stay hungry: In the end, a sandwich with potatoes and a poutine with two cans. For ~$40 we expected to have a more generous and hearty portion, another disappointment. However, its not all negative, the food was still very good and the potatoes were hot and seasoned. Maybe we should come back at midday to enjoy a better experience, in any case at the end of the afternoon I dont recommend it.

The food is good, but the service is often disappointing. For example tonight (Sunday); to be sure that they will be open in 20 minutes by the time I get there, I call before leaving at 6:45 p.m. They tell me that they close at 8 p.m. (as it is written on their timetable on Google maps). I arrive at the restaurant at 7:05 p.m. and the door is locked. The two employees, who see me clearly and hear me knocking, deliberately ignore me. I insist by telling them that I have just called. One of them finally comes to open the door to tell me, in a contemptuous tone, that it was me who misunderstood and that they are closed.

An exquisite delight. Tasting a meal in this restaurant brightened my day. Whether alone or with friends, let yourself be carried away by these surprising flavors of Lebanon and Morocco. Enjoy your meal

Good chicken shawarma plate, nothing to envy of what you find in many places in the Montreal region.

This afternoon, I made a detour to this Lebanese restaurant to enjoy my favorite lunch: the shishtauk chicken dish. To my surprise, I discovered that the restaurant had recently introduced a selection of small homemade desserts . The owner graciously offered me a pistachio verrine, creamy and subtly flavored with cheese and vanilla. This dessert was absolutely exquisite and I highly recommend it. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the owner for her generosity and warm welcome, always with a smile . Its dynamic and efficient team also contributes to making the culinary experience even more pleasant. Don t hesitate to ask for this dessert when you visit!

Come 01/12/2023, for the first time, I felt like I was coming back to life after eating only tuna for 1 month because halal meat is rare in the region. Welcoming staff and excellent food, you can go there with your eyes closed.

Traditional food from a culture other than our beloved little region of Quebec. I adore!!! Eat in reasonable quantities for a big appetite without breaking the bank. Every time I went the service was very fast, very courteous and a kind of humility, more commonly found in other cultures. The food is fresh... THANK YOU for a nice difference in Saguenay!!

This restaurant is not for everyone. It s an expensive Moroccan-inspired fast food restaurant. Its not traditional cuisine. And it certainly doesnt have the warm welcome that we find in Morocco And it was at the beginning! But with the constant increases in their prices, the reduction in portions, the lack of service, the prices displayed which are not the right ones, the freshness which is no longer there... its over for us. Damage! But such is the cycle of small restaurants falling victim to their success.

Price too expensive for very little on the plate. 1 wrap with very ordinary and not very tasty potato and 1 mixed platter meal, final cost $43. Unwelcoming atmosphere We were still hungry afterwards. I absolutely do not recommend.

As a Moroccan tourist in Chicoutimi I have never seen an Arab restaurant worse than this one. - Portion of shawarma that does not even exceed 50g in a menu called mixed shawarma full of rice and potatoes. - Not even plates in the restaurant - shawarma sandwich full of salad and nothing else. - closed toilet for customers - really lousy and unwelcoming service - mixed shawarma and shawarma sandwich at $50 which is really expensive compared to rice, salad and potatoes. N.B: After informing the employee, he fortunately told me that it was me who served you, if it was the owner, the portion of shawarma would have been less than mine. Strongly not recommended because this restaurant describes neither generosity nor Moroccan cuisine.

I went to try it frankly too expensive for nothing I took a trio kebab sandwich the sandwich I made fun of twice my thumb the potatoes not seasoned bland and dont even ask you in the sandwich what kind of sauce is there want to put in it, they only put the sauce

The portions at this restaurant are much too small, I had a chicken shish taouk and for $10 the size of the meal is ridiculous, the shish taouk is very small and there are barely any ingredients in it. In any shish taouk restaurant in Montreal or Quebec you get twice as much for the same price. Very disappointing.

I took the beef shawarma plate for delivery and I was very surprised! I was expecting something just ok and in the end everything was delicious!! The plate is well stocked, the rice, meat and potatoes are tasty, the garlic sauce is delicious and the presentation is impeccable. I would have liked the pita bread to be seasoned and more sauce but I will definitely go back!

2022-12-16: If I could give it 0/5 I would, not for the flavor but for the quality of the service. We ordered $94 worth of meals and they werent even able to compensate for the things they were out of, at least they called us! To make matters worse, during delivery there were still a lot of things missing...for 3 merguez, a mini salad and a few potatoes its expensive...so Skip and Dar Salma are a terrible duo! Avoid at all costs. December 2021: Really very disappointed and yet Im not picky...even my 2 dogs didnt want to eat it. Chicken too dry, texture of some foods questionable in the mouth, but the desserts were excellent. Is it the fact that I ordered via skip...should try it in the dining room...

Order on SKIp this evening, the restaurant calls me because half of my order is missing, they have more. The owner told me that during the time he received my order and prepared it, they ran out of it. They took 56 minutes to prepare my order. It seems to me that its GBS to put aside the items in the order that you received to take away and not to penalize them. Technically its first come first served! My order actually arrived first so you gave what I ordered to someone else knowing very well that you were going to need it for mine! Its ridiculous to pay $95 to have a mini salad, a few cold potatoes and 3 poorly cooked merguez! In the end, I was penalized for the errors of an incompetent and poorly trained employee! I dont recommend this restaurant to anyone, worst service ever!

First of all, I want to say that my review does not at all reflect the quality of the food, it is incredibly good. Really what leads me to give it a simple 3 star for a restaurant that offers delicious culinary options is the value for money. Example: A trio of chicken shawarma sandwiches with tip and tax comes to over $21 for a single person, which is quite exorbitant given the quantity and presentation. I recently bought two chicken shawarma plates with drinks, adding the tip we were at $52.50, which is the equivalent of a good meal at a sit-down restaurant except that the difference is is that our plates do not have an aperitif or dessert and they are served in a disposable dish (no dish service necessary). In summary, I am satisfied with my experience but the price range compared to what we receive is a little exaggerated, I recommend it to lovers of Mediterranean food but I am of the opinion that the prices should be adjusted. Parking: Complicated parking, there is little parking available around the establishment. Wheelchair accessibility: No accessibility for wheelchairs.

We read on the publications: - closed due to... - Lack of si... - Lack of ca... It doesnt look professional to be missing everything all the time. An order must be planned in advance. (A Little Catering Course 101). Finally! One day we go there, the door is not locked . We enter with a smile and the desire to taste something different. First impression by being welcomed and I think welcome is really not the right word: - no hello - no smile - no welcome to .... what can we serve you? We had the impression of disturbing these gentlemen. We order... the man in question seems impatient and doesnt seem to understand that we are entering his restaurant for the first time, something he would have known if he would have welcomed a customer as he did. must. It starts again! Same principle as on Facebook but directly in our face: lack of if, lack of that.. Make your orders based on traffic and to at least try to stay open for a WHOLE week online. I completely hated my visit to Dar Salma. I did not feel welcomed or wanted as a customer. I had the impression of being a nuisance and we can see that there is a management problem both on social networks and in person at the restaurant. Be careful, Im not saying that the food wasnt good. But I dont plan to go back and I strongly advise anyone not to go there.

Exactly 65 minutes waiting for our plates. We arrive there, chicken pudding, beef pudding, it doesnt work quickly, in my opinion watching the chicken turn these hypnotizing. It doesnt work with gloves and even a mask for some. Are you good? I dont know yet, Im in my tank in a beautiful ordeal. What I know is that I will come back.
