The delivery service is pitiful. We were promised delivery in 45 minutes and it took 2 hours. I will order from Au Normandin in the future, it s much faster. I was a very good customer but not anymore.

Good service, good food and good atmosphere. I would like to point out that I really appreciated that the mayonnaise was brought to the table with the ketchup, without having to ask for it. Plus, there are all the memories attached to it over the years!!

The only Georges restaurant in Chicoutimi! Excellent hearty meal, excellent service and pleasant atmosphere. Well located opposite the summer festival on Talbot Street. Good people, Saguenéens! We arrived on a Sunday evening (only place that accepted minors on the street) Aperitif & meal (2 adults + 1 child) We ate correctly but the dishes remained rude / service a little oppressive (came to see us very very regularly so that we could order) Good meal but not up to the level of communication made internally and externally by this institution

Group of 30, September 9. The service was mediocre: no smile from one of the young girls and a very stupid look (thats not her place at all, a tall blonde). The meals were almost all cold; we had to turn our plates over several times. No empathy, no sorry, it was very difficult and very bad experience.

I would like to share a very unpleasant situation that occurred during my last visit to the CHEZ GEORGES restaurant. Unfortunately, the night of my wifes birthday celebration turned sour due to an incredibly rude and rude waiter. This is not the first time we have come to Georges, precisely because it is a good restaurant. Currently on the menu there is a burger option simply called Hamburger, but my daughter likes it in Cheese Burger size which means it will be a custom order. No salad or sauces. The server in question made a ridiculous comment while taking the order, saying, Its not McDonalds to remove items from the order. But lets see! How rude! What to do if a person is allergic to an ingredient??? I called the manager to discuss the matter and let her know that I would no longer be staying at the restaurant, and believe it or not: when I asked the waiter about his unfortunate comment, he first denied that I asked. He denied it in front of the manager! After raising his voice against him, he admitted this comment.... Note that it was my daughter who made the order, and she is 12 years old. She was shocked to the point of tears. Such a mentality demonstrates a server incapable of doing a good job and unfortunately tarnishes the name of a local business. At least for a long time, me, my family, all my friends and colleagues who frequent the restaurants with me, we will leave Georges aside and look for another place for our reunion... Consider going there, especially with children.

Went on August 31, 2024. The reviews seemed negative but we were pleasantly surprised. Fast service, tables dhôte with delicious Lebanese soup with large pieces of chicken. Perfect skewers. Good value for money.

How sad to see this restaurant institution and see what it has become. Georges Abraham and his wife must be turning in their graves. Cafeteria service, dry chicken as big as a quail, dark atmosphere, the chefs famous salad tasted like nothing, we were told that he had forgotten to stir the salad sauce before serving us . Chip crumbs, only the bbq sauce was similar. ultimately we eat better at the stopover in a cabaret (sad)

I am really sad that this famous restaurant is delivered with lousy service....arrive at 6:20 p.m., the meal served at 8:30 p.m., the meal is cold even the waiter wouldnt have eaten it ouffff....finish it for me . Im 56 years old and this is the first time in my life Ive experienced a service like that. I know when its positive we dont say it but Ive never seen that. My boyfriend who was having a party felt so bad. Sadness

I have been a customer for 50 years and I can tell you that I am disappointed with the consistency of the recipes. the bbq sauce is ok one time out of 5 the chicken is good one time out of 3, the fries are no longer the same. Im thinking of abandoning my attempts and going elsewhere. Sad!

After 3 times I went to get my special chicken breast/thigh for $34.00 to eat hot at home. Arrived home very cold chicken, sauce and fries. Last time I called to complain and a cook said (which I understood on the phone) if they want hot food they come and eat at the restaurant. Great answer. They returned the chicken to me by delivery but it also arrived cold. Very bad chicken and very bad service

An institution in Chicoutimi! Chez Georges is a must for anyone who wants to rediscover the taste of their grandmothers spaghetti. The dishes are plentiful, they taste good.

Top service! I had a pork chop, with potato and chefs salad. I took away a star because the ribs were a little dry and the vegetables were not cooked or seasoned. The whole thing was good.

It is deplorable that a restaurant which was once so pleasant and appreciated has become so ordinary, table not set up, slow and inexperienced service, dishes served with errors and/or forgotten, to conclude, the attitude of the chef room which still believes itself to run a high-end restaurant. $85 for 2 basic salads and a mac n cheese. And for that, we waited 50 minutes. The waitress never apologized despite my reminders. Worse, between two spits in the trash can at the entrance, a waiter was truly insolent. To flee.

During our vacation in Saguenay, we went to eat at Georges. The food was good but unfortunately the service offered was not up to par. Our waitress did not know the menu or the options which resulted in several overcharges, for example paying $3 more because milk was not included in the childs meal, strange no. My meal according to the waitress came with fries but ultimately no and despite her mistake she charged us $4 more to compensate for her mistake. We would have liked more attention and proactivity from the waitress to find out before misleading us and automatically applying the surcharge because our choice might have been different. It s a shame because our experience could have been so much better

Ne vous laissez pas tenter par la rosette de boeuf. En tout cas si vous décidez tout de même de le faire prenez le choix de la pomme de terre au four car ce sera la seule chose mangeable dans votre assiette... à 38$ sans compter le vin. Même les légumes étaient ratés, mal cuit. Ils se ventent davoir de grosses portions mais quest-ce que ça donne, on a tous les deux laissé nos assiettes à moitié pleine.

Worse experience ever. Because we didnt have a reservation, the desk person was rude. After seating at the table it took 45 minutes with nobody answered us. We were about to leave the restaurant then the waiter arrived thinking we were finished?? We told him we still waiting for the wine card and menu. Even the manager and others waiters were around, everyone ignored us. I was very frustrated the waiter was not good as well, missing our order,making mistakes ! For sure we will never back! As tourists in saguenay I definitely fo not recommend that place.

The bbq chicken was ok, but the fries were soggy. Dessert was average (graham pie). I expected better given the reputation of the place. Our table was rather poorly located (facing the bar), there was a lot of traffic throughout the meal.

We checked into our hotel across the street where they recommended Georges. It was Labour Day weekend and at 7:00pm we werent sure of a seat but after a very short wait they sat us in a nice curved booth. Our waiter was very good, brought us English menus took our orders and had a good sense of humour. The food was some of the best of our 18 day trip and we would definitely return if we were in the area again.

Alarm system triggered, everyone outside for 20 minutes without any member of Saguenay public security. It was the employees, without the presence of a manager, who brought us inside.

A well ventilated and spacious restaurant, we showed up on site without an appointment for 4 people on a Saturday evening and were well received and seated the minute after. Our waitress was very courteous and smiling. A beautiful card but quite expensive for my taste. My warm goat cheese salad was well garnished but very little cheese considering the price. My only mistake was ordering this salad with a chicken fillet, it was way too much for me.

Although the food was good, the service was terrible, they only speak French and refuse to serve you in another language. We went with a small child, we asked for a menu and had to claim dessert. We will not return.

Disappointed with the kitchen, my first hamburger was served with the paper separating the cheese slices in the kitchen, without the sauce dish. I was then asked to redo my hamburger. The 2nd one made again with a dish of sauce, but the meatball was cold/lukewarm. The starters were correct, the portions adequate, the table service was good.

Very disappointing! The cocktails are not expensive, and for good reason there is probably no or very little alcohol. The dishes were disappointing too! The poorly cooked ribs and the baked potato simply not cooked! More expensive than a Saint Hubert and of much poorer quality!

Chicken breast: no bread, soft and flabby skin, bland coleslaw and very vinegary taste For: good tasting chicken, good fresh fries. Rising sides: good taste, soft and not crispy, very ordinary. Pasta with meat sauce: okkk pasta with very ordinary sauce, ginger taste, does not taste like the vegetables supposed to be in the sauce. Average price restaurant okk.

$36 taxes included and tip for the oriental steak. Which is ultimately a chopped steak with a brown sauce and vegetables and rice. The soup is very good but the chefs salad which is an ordinary salad with very vinegary Italian vinaigrette. The staff is very fast and smiling. For much less money I prefer the Caza Grecque on Talbot.

We eat very well, what is a shame is the lack of lighting. We walk down beautiful sunny street and have dinner in a black restaurant. We dont even know its daytime anymore. For this reason I dont go back there anymore unless it rains or in winter.

The kitchen is not good!!! the pasta with its tomato sauce has no taste and is overcooked, their marinated chicken thigh is disgusting!!! If you dont want to have a stomach ache, go your own way!!

When you receive poutines with fries that have only been blanched and are very stiff. I called to ask for a credit, the FRU manager told me that he had noted it in the file... I arrived to order with my credit and the other manager replied that it was nothing written and that if I would have had a credit it would have been written. So as a result I paid $50 for poutine that was not edible and in the end I never got credit. Ps: the manager told me that it was normal for the fries to be hard because its fresh potato season no, honestly!!!!

Here is a good address in downtown Chicoutimi, at Georges, an old town brand, meat is king with matured cuts, but the menu offers fish and shellfish - choice of scallops, shrimp skewers...there are also vegetarian dishes the bar offers an impressive choice of cocktails

Parking: Its for a take out Food

We were gathered for a 70th birthday. Unfortunately most guests were disappointed with the quality of cooking and the heat of the food. The Georges rosette ($35) or the bacon which surrounded the meat was practically raw, the meat and the vegetables as well. The filet mignon ($50) was cold, the analysis was floating in the vinaigrette, the vegetables were tasteless.... The ribs were cold and too sweet. The beef tartare is the worst my sister has eaten in her entire life... and so on... Never again for a group at Georges! Fortunately, Mathieu our young server was excellent! But why not provide us with cloth napkins when there was a drawer full of them?

Very Disappointing. We had this restaurant recommended and it was a first for us. I decide to spoil myself with a plate of filet mignon for $50, 62 at the table dhôte. In the menu there are a ton of explanations of cooking varieties. I choose medium rare, with fries. I receive with baked potatoes, they change me for fries at my request. I cut my fillet, it has no trace of pink. Not only is it not medium rare, but it is tough and well cooked. I tell the waiter who asks me if the taste is still good?! I tell him yes, but its hard and overcooked. He goes to find out (he was friendly) and doesnt come back until 15 minutes later where they offer me a brownie in exchange.... No way to get filet mignon as requested. I had already chosen a table dhôte with dessert included. In short, at the end, I was offered 25% off my meal. Do the math, that s 37.50 for a plate of vegetables and salad. I was offered pepper or wine sauce, and can you imagine that it was an extra! No prize per se, but say it.... In short, I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. Everything started well, not having booked, we were found a place, the waiter Alexis was friendly, but afterwards the rest was Disappointing. Positive mention to my daughters Mac n cheese which was delicious. I rarely give negative reviews, its actually quite the opposite. But paying for quality and receiving what is not, that should not happen in my opinion. I manage several reservations for groups who have to eat in Chicoutimi, and I will never recommend this restaurant.

Were not going to lie, if youre a bearded hipster in a checkered shirt looking for new trends, move on. Youll find that its an old mans place. For others, its somewhat true that its an old mans place, but just for old people who know how to recognize a damn good place! Its certain that the menu doesnt go too far off the beaten track but everything is good. Spit-roasted chicken that leaves the well-known chains far in the shadows, macncheese and spaghetti worthy of a grandmother, brontosaur-sized bbq pork chops and aged steaks that will allow you to appreciate the silence that reigns when your brother-in-law has his mouth full. Whats more, you eat all this while sitting in large, super comfortable round benches (to the point where falling asleep in them can be a real danger, remember to order coffee with dessert and be warned). Its not for nothing that Chez Georges is an institution in the region. Instead of pulling in all directions and trying to ride any fad, its a place that has focused on the main reason for being such an establishment: serving good things to eat (and anyone who knows me knows that this is not a question I take lightly) The only thing missing is parking for bikes and that would be the best place in the world!

A good restaurant. One of the only restaurants in town open on a Sunday pm. The starters were great, the tartare was cut a little too coarsely, the hamburger was bland. Otherwise it was a very nice, warm atmosphere.

Ce n était pas très bon. La salade de chou baignait dans le vinaigre, les autres repas n étaient pas savoureux. Les grillades n étaient pas mémorables, et la sauce non plus, même si c est sensé être leur signature. Aucune pizza sur le menu, ce qui est étonnant. Le décor est sombre et peu invitant. Excellent service toutefois! Je n y retournerais pas.

Me and my partner wanted to share a good meal in a chic atmosphere, without being too much. In terms of atmosphere, our expectations were fairly well respected. Because the rest of the card isnt really special. This evening, we had a tuna tartare as a starter, a hamburger for him, and a warm goat cheese salad for me. The food was terrible, the poutine was cold and the chicken was not fresh.The behaviour of the staffs were not friendly, they asked for more tips even though we gave them close to 15 %. They asked do you know that the minimum percentage for tips is 15 % .

We finished and went out of this restaurant around 9,30- 10,00h pm. Very disappointed. And on top of this no vegan or vegetarian plate, except for fish or shrimps; which were again ordinary. We will never go back to this George steak house. Vey bad management. If you can t serve people on time that they have reserved; don t take that many people. Very very. Bad.

The meats are perfect. My steak melted in my mouth, cooked just the way I like it.

Seriously $120 for 2 people for a poor quality meal.... everything is bland, flavorless and the quality of the meat leaves something to be desired, very stiff. Mac n cheese doesnt even taste like cheese...Very noisy...dont recommend at all sorry the service was ok but one of the worst food Ive eaten. Go elsewhere there are much better restaurants on root street than this one.
