The food was excellent! We had fish and veal en croute which was delicious. The starters were also exquisite. Our server Renaud was very nice and we never ran out of water or wine in our glass. I highly recommend and plan to return!

The funny memory I have of the Kitchen is that I still wonder why, upon entering a practically empty restaurant room, we were suggested the most poorly located table in the entire restaurant, stuck in the corner of the back wall, nose facing the wall. We refused the table, and the next couple was offered exactly the same :-) For the rest, we ate cheese croquettes as a starter, very classic. For the main course, my wife enjoyed the duck breast and I less appreciated the seafood pasta. The service was OK. EDIT: note to the owner (first time this kind of response has come to me in 335 reviews): you arrived without a reservation: this is false, we reserved online on June 20 for a table on July 30 at 8 p.m. reservations were within 15 minutes of your arrival: this is false, the room was virtually empty when we arrived and remained so throughout our meal. we had several groups in 2nd service: this is false, we were there in 2nd service and did not see such groups.

Superb restaurant the service is perfect, The staff is very friendly and the cuisine worthy of a restaurant by a star chef everything was good and the service perfect. Above all, dont change anything and thank you for this moment.

Pleasant staff, cuisine based on quality local products

The bib, ..don t choose that. Very, very ordinary, tight. I wouldnt even put this meat in a stew. I even had to put in a piece that I couldnt swallow discreetly without my napkin.

Beautifully renovated place. Beautiful decor. Beautiful atmosphere. Excellent service and above all excellent food with a presentation on the plate like a work of art. Even though I was alone I had a wonderful taste journey. Parking: At the coach station, places accessible at all times. Street parking, first come, first served. But easy to park nearby. Always free.

We had reserved the large reception room to celebrate a special event. The food was excellent and all our guests found something to suit them among the choices offered, both young and old. But what I remember above all is the excellent service from our server Maxime who knew how to make our evening unforgettable with all his little touches and these well-placed interventions to energize the evening. He knows what he is doing and reads situations well. I recommend!

The food was excellent, the service impeccable and very fast (we were there on a Saturday evening at 8:30 p.m.). On the other hand, the place is excessively noisy. There were groups and we had to speak very loudly to hear each other. Additionally, 2 men were taking the place for karaoke. Its frankly unpleasant. If you want a quiet place for a romantic dinner, this is not the best place.

Way too long a wait and really expensive: more than 100 dollars for 2 dishes and 1 dessert, 1 glass of beer and 1 glass of wine...

Honestly, I am very disappointed with my evening. Untasty dishes, limp fries, too bitter lemonade, bland tatare, very poor soup. Limited menu choice I dont advise.

A perfect restaurant. We decide to celebrate our 20 years of life together. We are received with two glasses of champagne (hearts in our eyes) The dishes are always of good quality. The chef cooks with passion, which shows in the plates. Taste, quality, creativity in short, a real chef. The service is very cheerful but discreet. The evening ends with a small chocolate cake offered by the house. (Heart on our hearts this time) The cuisine... we were already loyal customers.. and we will remain so. This is the place to celebrate life and eat like kings. See you soon!

I would summarize by saying that the service is not up to par with the cuisine. Great culinary discovery, impressive effort to introduce boreal, it s exactly what we were looking for. My bison gravlax was really stiff but everything else was absolutely perfect. We felt rushed from start to finish. No menu descriptions just are you ready to order 3 times. As soon as a plate is finished, it is immediately picked up even if the others had not finished. No wine service except at departure when we had barely tasted our aperitif. Noisy group next door. Hurry to charge . The staff seemed eager to finish and have their glass of wine... too bad because the culinary experience was there but the service ruined everything

I made a reservation for two on a Friday evening because I had never been to this restaurant and I was very surprised. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the waiters were always close when we needed anything. I highly recommend!

Almost the best restaurant in Chicoutimi

We both chose seafood dishes as starters. Delicious! For the main course, my guest chose riz de veau (not sure how to translate that!) and I had the carbonara. Both dishes were very pleasing. We skipped dessert as we were full. The wine was excellent. Although this restaurant has a terrace, we elected to eat inside as it was very hot on the terrace. Service was very keen & friendly. It is very seldom that I comment on washrooms but these washrooms were especially cute. Someone went to a lot of trouble!! That is a good sign!! They want their guests to have a memorable dining experience!

We would have liked to have been able to comment and appreciate, but unfortunately we simply never had access to the restaurant. I wanted to book for 22 people for my sisters 40th birthday. After leaving a telephone message at the restaurant, writing an email, calling back several times and even making an audio message on the Facebook page on the recommendation of a kind waiter, who deigned to leave a message on my voicemail, we did not we NEVER had any feedback from a manager and had to and preferred to spend our money elsewhere. When organizing major events, it is desirable to be able to count on reliable business partners, which is clearly not the case for the La Cuisine restaurant. The restricted opening hours, the holiday period extending until January 10 and the few seats certainly cannot have helped the cause, but the website mentions two rooms and one minimum respect would have been to recall and thus translate a certain effort.

Fan de lendroit depuis plus de 10 ans, jai encore été épaté par la nourriture. Toutefois, bien que la nouvelle décos soit splendide, les ampoules des nouvelles lumière sont tellement froides (bleu au lieu de jaune) que lambiance est semblable à une cafétéria... Vraiment un changement qui ferait toute la différence puisque la nourriture est délicieuse.

Delicious tartare starter. 9/10 Smoked pork starter in puff pastry 7.5/10 (a little too dry) The beef scoter in its mushroom orgetto was excellent 9.5/10 (I would have had more beef). The deer burger was well stocked and the patty was huge, if a little dry. The accompanying salad tasted absolutely nothing, too bad... 8/10 As dessert, the pudding chômeur deserves a rating of 15/10, probably the best I have eaten in my entire life. Overall, very pleasant experience, I highly recommend if you have a budget that allows it ($150-200)

Best restaurant Ive been to in Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean!

This is our favorite place for Valentines Day for me and my partner. I recommend 100% at all times. The quality/price ratio is extraordinary! A restaurant that knows how to master several categories such as tartare, duck, beef, chicken, wood meats etc. I just went there on May 5, 2023 for my 32nd birthday and its extraordinary, Im going back without fail!

We chose and reserved in this restaurant (more than others on the same street) because the menu was attractive: original, varied dishes and local products. Unfortunately, when ordering, several dishes were no longer available or had changed without this being indicated on the menu (for example, the venison burger had become a duck burger). Likewise for the choice of aperitif, we had to arrive at the 3rd choice of whiskey because they no longer had the first 2! The dishes are plentiful and good but we regretted that the light was so low because it did not allow us to enjoy the presentation of the plate which was beautiful and appetizing, nor to really discover the different original vegetables before tasting them. We found the service a little long but the most annoying thing after this wait was that we felt rushed by the waitress to eat. She started clearing up while one of us was still eating. We had more waiting time than time to taste the dish.

Very good service, interesting menu for all tastes. However, the sweetbreads were really, really too salty. Despite the fact that I mentioned it to two servers, no one offered to change it. I am still disappointed on this point. To think about for next time, because I find this situation disappointing.

Excellent wine selection - i had a Hungarian red (from Dúzsi Tamás, Szekszárd) which was the best red i had in a loooong time! Great food quality from local produce, prepared expertly. Worth a visit!!

Adequate price for the quality of dishes. More than satisfied with the zucchini flowers, marrow bone and chocolate cake with mushroom powder! Only downside: the main course of lentils was a little disappointing, and it would be nice to be given a description of the dishes during the services. All in all, a very nice evening.

What can I say memorable. In two years, I had never eaten in such a good restaurant in Saguenay. The service is impressive, very thorough, very attentive to small needs. The dishes are exquisite. Here, they prioritize quality over quantity, so if you are really hungry, the restaurant will not meet your expectations. Nevertheless, the quality of the products is incredible, a crazy quantity of local products, sauces with tastes that will make your taste buds tremble, you almost want to lick your plate at the end. This restaurant is a gem.

A wait of more than 45 minutes between the starter and the main course... We turned over the pasta which was floury and what about the rest correct. Very disappointed my wife too. We will not return it sorry... A bill for $150....

What a superb surprise this dinner was! Exquisite beetroot ravioli with venison and excellent tagliatelle with duck confit. Crispy bread and served with salted butter. We enjoyed ourselves and even regretted not having any appetite for dessert because several tempted us and if their quality equals that of the dishes then they must be famous. We are delighted with our experience.

Excellent service, even at maximum capacity the service was impeccable! The seafood risotto simply leaves all other risottos in shame because it is so good! The portions are generous, the flavors are perfectly balanced; Parmesant doesnt bury the taste of seafood and neither does the reverse. There are plenty of gluten-free options and the atmosphere is lovely. We really fell in love with this restaurant, we recommend it to everyone! Thanks to Renaud who offered us a personalized service.

Very beautiful gastronomy giving pride of place to the ingredients and suppliers of the region. Ingredients sought after. The waitresses knew their menu very well with good descriptions of the accompaniments. Very good cocktail, extensive wine list. Tasty catch of the day (Halibut). Entrecôte was cooked medium-well instead of medium rare but as the restaurant was at full capacity and it was still tasty I did not return it to the kitchen. We will definitely return. Blueberry pie is worth the detour...what can we say about the balsam fir ice cream that accompanies the chocolate cake...WOW!

Very good foie gras carpaccio, too bad the liver lacked a little character. Sweetbreads with its flaky pastry and sauce to lick your plate! At the top Duck breast, on the slate, a killer The choice of wines by the waitress, Australian and Quebec reds, was perfect! I recommend this very good restaurant with these very welcoming dishes!

The food is excellent and the servers are super friendly.

Inflated prices compared to the quality and quantity served. Waiting time of over an hour before the first course. A hamburger with burnt fries. A salmon dish with almost no garnishes. Exaggerated wine prices. A cacophony reigned in the restaurant coupled with music that could no longer be heard. A salty note not at all in keeping with the food and drinks received.

We are very happy with our experience, from the starter to the dessert to the wine, everything was tasty and well executed. Its really excellent! The menu is particularly interesting, with local products highlighted in each of the dishes offered. The service is courteous, fast and warm. Good service; courteous, efficient and pleasant. The meal I chose was excellent. On the other hand, I find that (like everywhere else) the entries are too expensive. Additionally, I wasnt particularly interested in a lot of the dishes on the menu (nothing special or a bit of an odd choice that didnt seem to fit with the theme of the restaurant). The interesting dishes are more expensive ($30~35) and the cheaper ones are a bit ordinary (~$20) The menu could have had more explanations on certain culinary terms that are rarely used here. (On the other hand, our server, although a little late, took the trouble to present the dishes to us)

Friday July 9th 7:30pm Overall, great experience. Food was amazing. We loved the cocktails, especially The Bloody cocktail, very tasty. Prices were fair. Also, my girlfriend dropped her soup on the table by accident and our waiter replaced it. However, the wait was a bit long. We had to wait a long time before having any service in between our meals. Seems like there was only one waiter for the whole restaurant. Probably the only thing that bothered us, but we really loved our time at La Cuisine. Thank you!

What a great restaurant, food, drinks and staff were amazing. Staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was at the highest level possible, from offering to customize cocktails, offering quick service and always, always professional and friendly with a smile. This has for sure became one of my favorite restaurants in the province of Québec.

As a tourist we felt very unwelcoming. Was told there was no availability even tho there were several seats available. After asking how long the wait would be, we were told 2 hours. I felt like it was due to the fact we didnt speak French. Very disappointing

We had seasonal dishes; elk game and striped bass. Good dishes and we topped it off with a delicious crème brûlée. Good selection of wine. Server on the evening of February 25 was not up to the type of restaurant. Your nonchalant and he missed the chance to make more sales.

The Cuisine had been recommended to us very much very much! We liked it! My meal: starter, soup/cream or salad, meal and dessert was excellent, the cream lacked a little taste but otherwise everything was very good, the starter had to be reheated a little but for me the dishes are never very hot . The service was good and the employees were courteous and helpful to us. They were smiling and professional! On the other hand, the wait between the Cream and my meal was 45 minutes. First time Ive come to La Cuisine since I arrived here in Quebec. I was not disappointed! The flavors (and quantities) were there: good local products, from Quebec for a slightly high price, but its worth the detour. The team was attentive, responsive and very friendly.

An excellent dinner in this restaurant which offers refined and gourmet cuisine. The prices are pretty fair. I recommend the 4-course Table d Hôte menu. The service is efficient and smiling. The only downside is the non-presentation of bottles at the table when ordering wine by the glass. We would like to see what we are drinking even if we trust the service!

Very tastey and interesting flavors and twists

The salmon tartare with sour cream brulee sauce was impressive in taste. The pan-fried foie gras melted in your mouth and the duck confit with its corn sauce went wonderfully together. The flavors are very present and contrasting but pleasant in the mouth, a delight.

The dishes were good and sought after. The staff was great! The atmosphere of the restaurant is starting to date, however. Its no longer up to date. And also, we found it extremely expensive for what it was. Super good, but too expensive. My plate was $38....I found it to be more of a 26-27 plate.
