We recently visited Temaki, a remarkable experience! We opted for the chefs choice, and every bite was a real discovery. The variety and freshness of the sushi was exceptional, showcasing a real attention to detail. The warm and welcoming ambiance of the restaurant added a special touch to our meal. The personalized service was also remarkable; we felt that each customer was important. A big thank you to the Temaki team for this evening! An exceptional table and a dinner full of discoveries and flavors. We chose the Chefs Choice All in option for an exceptional dinner. Note: reservation almost obligatory because it is often full. Simply sublime. I loved. The freshness, the textures, the cooking of the scallops; melting like butter. The combination of sauces and vinaigrettes/marinades on the salad with the sushi pizza is perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Not worth your money or time. Wagyu is not cooked like that. Its ruined. Dont think for a second that anything here has anything to do with Japan. Its bland, overpriced, and served without any professionalism.

Update June 2024: the quality seems to have decreased or is variable. Unfortunately the tuna is of poor quality to the point where I was afraid to eat it (it smelled funny and had a pink/purple/grayish color). The salmon also seems of lower quality. This explains the minus star... Without a doubt the best sushi restaurant in Saguenay! It s excellent and 100% worth the cost. The prices are far from exaggerated for the quality offered. The tastes are original and respect the fish used. The service is also very pleasant and it s nice to see the cooks preparing our dishes. The only negative point is that its not very intimate. Our mini rickety table was very close to the others, as the place is small. It is also difficult to eat there without booking several days in advance, which is very logical given the very limited number of places. I totally recommend

Second experience for us, the first won us over! Second experience this evening: phew never had such bad service. At 11:00 p.m. we started being ignored, (we were almost done), no water, no additional contact. We had to ask for the invoices at 11:45 p.m., it was not our waitress who made our invoices, we had to explain them, and we had to demand to have them in person. Excellent food, never eaten anything like this but after spending $600 for 4 I think it deserves a little extra.

What an experience! Michaël the chef is something to experience. The quality, the freshness of the local products and seeing the execution of the meal in front of us was just WOW. First experience, certainly not the last official.

We loved our experience on the chefs choice menu, all the dishes that were brought to us were super good and original, it was a discovery for the eyes and for the palate. We recommend this restaurant.

Immature owner, rude waitress. Changing product prices without displaying the new prices. Price displayed on the menu different from the price charged. When we ask him for an explanation he runs away and does not want to reimburse us the difference on the pretext that he has the right to change the prices as he wants without notifying us.

A place that requires you to have an invoice for everyone so as not to pay for others if you go in a group, its not logical. If the waitresses dont know how to count or are too cowardly to make several bills, change jobs... Reservations are essential! 1st service 5 p.m. and the other 8 p.m. The food is a real delight, its always fresh and the chefs prepare all the dishes in front of us, very appreciated! Take the 2nd course and you will prolong your meal! An interesting wine list.

Very busy restaurant They take a credit card for the reservation. We ate sushi (specialties) as well as one of the izakaya dishes (in the restaurant but later in the evening), namely chanterelles. This isnt my first time visiting Temaki in Chicoutimi, and yet Im always blown away by the quality of the food, especially for a place like Chicoutimi. In a bland culinary culture where anything tasty seems to be an affront, Temaki manages to enhance very fresh ingredients, without offending anyone. If this restaurant were in New York or Montreal, it would still hold up. Keep in mind that you might struggle with English here, but thats to be expected in the depths of Quebec. Of note, and Im writing this in 2023 during the great Sriracha shortage, their charming little shop across the street had a full row of large bottles. So it might be worth the detour from Montreal if you have 12 hours to spare. This is not the first time Im going to Temaki in Chicoutimi, and still Im blown away with the quality of the food, for Chicoutimi that is. In a bland food culture where anything with a taste seems to be an offense, Temaki manages to bring the best out of very fresh ingredients, while still not offending anyone. If this restaurant was in New York or Montreal it would still be able to hold its own. Keep in mind that you might have issues with English here, but thats to be expected this deep in Quebec. An interesting side note, and keep in mind Im writing this in 2023 during the great Siracha shortage, is that their cute little boutique in front had a full row of the large bottles, so it may be worth a drive up from Montreal if you have 12 hours to spare.

I will respond to your request. I had eaten Temaki before. Extraordinary and delicious quality sushi. I have ordered them often! I came to a restaurant to try my experience in March last year for my birthday. Everything was pleasant, me and my partner saw the owner come into the kitchen. (We sit in a circle around the kitchen) The owner first asks by whistling and shouting to the waitress/Barmaid Make me a drink! . A few minutes later he yells y é or my glass s ti to the same waitress. This situation made me, my partner and my friends uncomfortable with this lack of respect. Subsequently we saw the owner scratching his stomach under his sweater and scratching his lower back/buttock with his hands. With these same hands (without having washed them to be precise), begins to assemble dishes and finalize the finishing of some dishes. We asked the waitress to make the bill and we left. So, this is why unfortunately, I give Temaki one star out of five.

Without flavors, very bland.... $30 for a soup that tastes nothing, I find it to be a steal.... A bowl of water with noodles would have been the same and much cheaper... I dont recommend it in no case....

The restaurant is closed until July 14, 2022, which is normal when you drive 2.5 hours to learn that the restaurant is on vacation! . Nothing is indicated on their site and on Google it is open.

Super good! We go there quite regularly, but finding a place to eat or take out is extremely difficult. Often we can call for 1-2 hours and its still busy.

Very slow service. We waited 1 hour to receive miso soup as a starter. It took another 45 minutes-1hr to receive our sushi selections (4 selections). In terms of prices, big surprise when receiving the invoice. All items were 30 to 50% more expensive than those indicated when ordering. Its nothing against the quality of the products, but I believe that informing customers or updating prices on the website could make people not feel cheated (or at least aware of due to price increases) during their visit. Dont get me wrong, Im comfortable paying more for quality products like this restaurant, but displaying the right prices is something of an obligation for me. Finally, when we explained to the waitress our discomfort with this situation, her lack of understanding left us bitter when we left.

What a great surprise!! Coming from France, I had no particular expectations in terms of gastronomy. Accustomed to pizzas, burgers, poutines and Breton restaurants (which are not). We had to stop in Chicoutimi before continuing our trip. And chance brought us to TEMAKI. The setting we are seated at the false bar which surrounds the open kitchen. The dishes are prepared before our eyes! We were able to chat with Michael and discover his know-how! Not fond of seafood, I changed my mind several times when seeing different preparations. The scallops!!! YUM ! Wagyu beef/foie gras!!! YUM ! The samurai!!! YUM ! Etc We let ourselves be convinced by a glass of Riesling and dessert lol. In short, go for it!!

No other sushi restaurant surpasses them. They are a category apart. I find it difficult to eat seasoned rice rolls in other restaurants while at Temaki they dont look for the product in their dishes. Quality, quality and quality.

The flavors, freshness and quality are always there! Sushi like nowhere else in Quebec. But if only it was just the sushi but no! What can we say about the oyster bar, as many wonderful flavors as Chef Michael s inspiration! And if you think you have eaten the best steak in town in the steak houses, think again, a discovery that is worth the price! Always well received and extraordinary service.

The food is good except that the prices are expensive (there must be something positive in all of this)... I dont recommend it. My family and I have been fans of this restaurant since the beginning, there is excellent service and what can I say about the food, it is the best for us and I recommend it to everyone.

Their service is the best and their food is even better. This is the best sushi Ive ever had. I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant and I dream about going back.

First, he defied health measures. This is simply unacceptable from a restaurant owner. I dont understand why people would still trust him. Two, he stole copyrighted photos from the Internet without paying the rights or giving credit to the person. Third, when a person dares to fault him (with supporting evidence, see photo in appendix), he makes fun of said person and blocks them from his page. For my part, when I return to my native region, this is the last sushi place I will eat at, despite the fact that its sushi is good. The quality of the food is not everything in a restaurant. The owner still has to be respectful. I bet you $10 that hell comment that Ive never set foot in his establishment, and thats totally false. I went there once in 2011 just before leaving for Montreal. Again, my comment has nothing to do with the food which is excellent, although a little pricey for what is offered. My problem is with the person who manages this restaurant. UPDATE: He also asks his friends to give him fake positive reviews to hide the negative ones (see attached photo).

Contrary to what the owner reports, yes I have already eaten in his restaurant several times (I lived in Saguenay for several years). At first it was good, but the last times I went there, the sushi had too much sauce, the taste of the fish and seafood was camouflaged by the sauce, unfortunately.

I do not recommend... Reason: Very high price, exorbitant quantity-price ratio. Also, problem of media disorder and bad decisions regarding public health directives under the Covid-19 crisis. (P.S: I have already tried your restaurant, the quality of the sushi is very good....the problem is the owner who seems to have severe gaps in communication and customer relations.) Hiring a coach in public relations and communications could help resolve this gap....frankly it could be a very profitable investment! But hey, good luck and good luck

I have eaten at Temaki a few times in recent years during my visits to Chicoutimi, I appreciated the quality of the sushi, but had always found the service a little messy. There its over...the attitude of the chef-owner of this restaurant in the face of covid, but above all his arrogance and his abject contempt displayed here and elsewhere push me to spend my money elsewhere during my visits to Chicoutimi. No doubt he doesnt care (the guy is obviously on top of his business and customer service seems absent from his vocabulary), but at some point you have to be consistent. People of Chicoutimi (and elsewhere) encourage restaurateurs who deserve to be.

Wow super nice experience, really interesting dishes with beautiful flavors. The chef-owners humor is special and I loved it. A must for sushi lovers.

We were surprised by this pleasant restaurant. We dared to have their famous Wagyu Beef and the......surprise......the meat was above our expectations. The cooking was perfect and the beef was carefully cut. Coming from France, we remain difficult and very critical regarding dishes from the gastronomy sector. Welcoming and very available staff. Friendly atmosphere...... I recommend this restaurant to really enjoy yourself in Chicoutimi.

Disappointed. We had already visited in August 2018 and had given it a 5 star rating. We are not from here and we want to come back. Maybe because we had to take them to bring them, but very very different from our first experience. The rice was a little lacking and the flavors were not there.
