We witnessed someone getting cut off not too long after he raised his voice at my mother for “bumping into my chair” and told her to “slow down” when we had just gotten here. But two waitresses watched and witnessed him take two other shots and not kick him out after he was cut off not long before while he was yelling every once in a while hurting our eardrums and even staring at her giving her dirty looks because we told the waitresses about him. We moved into a different section and they knew he was bothering us when he got cut off but he was still allowed to stay. Making us have to leave to a different place because it was giving her bad anxiety.
Had a burger, and a couple beers. The burger tasted like it was cooked frim freezer burnt. I took one bite and lost my appetite until the next evening. To cap it off.. I waited 20 mins after the food was dropped off to he helped again; nobody checked on me to see how the food was. I typically am pretty easy going and open minded and don't usually leave reviews for places unless it's really good or really bad, and honestly this was one of the worst restaurant/bar experiences I've ever had. I would go to sleep hungry before I came back here for food again. I'm sure, some of their food could be good.. but first impressions are important. I got told their smash burgers are kind of their signature and are really popular atm, and it was the worst burger I've had.. kind of makes you wonder about the rest of the menu. If your best seller made me lose my appetite for 24 hours, then the rest of the food is most likely similar quality. Atmosphere is alright. Place has potential for sure, could have just been a bad night for them, idk.
We were from out of town. The Information Booth recommended us here. We visited on a Sunday around noon with family. Food was great, fresh and tasty. Our server always had a smile on her face. Staff was pleasant and gave a welcoming feeling.

ripped off twice now. 2 weeks ago charged me for doubles when I ordered singles. tonite ordered fish and chips. 1 piece was 12.95 in the menu. charged 14.95. said menu outdated!!! not coming back. very poorly run
Definitely the best Nachos in town. But the last time we were there, they were actually too cheesy! Not something I mention often, but I'd have preferred more chips! Tried their soups and sandwiches, the chicken and rice and cream of cauliflower were delicious, but the spicy beef dip missed the mark a little. All in all though, good food, great service, decent drinks and great staff.
While visiting, this was our go to place ! We came here 3 times, and each visit was 5/5! The staff were always friendly and attentive, but never overbearing. They had a huge awesome cocktail selection(including blended frozen delights !) at really reasonable prices. They always had a food and drink special going on. The food was always so very good - we kept coming back ! The atmosphere was super fun and laid back. They played good music at a perfect volume. They also had TVs that showed sports and a smaller one for lotto like Keno. Drinks we enjoyed included - Blended Frozen Peach Belini Bartenders Root Beer Mudslide White Russian Blended Frozen Strawberry Peach Margarita Pint of Canadian with a side of Clamato (my husband said it was the best type of Clamato- he was really pleased) Food selection included Potato Skins ( OMG The BEST Ever !! ) Beef Dip w/ceaser salad Artichoke Dip Calamari Double Bacon Cheeseburger w/onion rings Can’t say enough good things about this place. Will defiantly return next time we are in the area.
Management need to train staff better. Don't like the new menu as they had a awesome taco salad now it gone. They still have the fajita salad which is pretty much the same. I did not get what I ordered so I did not get dinner

Found this little gem just off the Hwy and glad we did. Excellent pub fare and on both visits, the service has been top notch. Plenty of TVs for watching sports, and some of the most competitive pricing Ive seen. Well be back!

I have been there twice now for breakfast and I specifically say for my eggs Benedict that they are to be soft and both times they are hard I complained and nothing was done about it, I did not send them back because I will not food go to waste but please when you get a order for soft pouched eggs do it

We ordered here the other night because it was late and options were limited. The waitress asked if we wanted cheese on the burger... The character smash burgers were supposed to have double cheese so I was confused and asked if she was thinking of the right burger she said yes got our food and it wasnt the right burger she gave us the regular one, the lettuce on both was starting to rot so that was disgusting and the cheese on our grilled cheese wasnt even melted so our kid refused to eat it. Wouldnt go here again and would avoid complete waste of food and money.

Went for my first time as a new resident, was super stoked to check this place out. Left with a very bad taste in my mouth the service was terrible.. particularly the girl with a leopard print tat on her shoulder. Attitude from the moment we walked in.. then when my drink finally came she spilt a bunch of it s on my lap saw it scoffed and took off with out any sort of apology whatsoever. I was a bit shocked. Now I won t be going back. What a disappointment!

Favorite pub in Chilliwack. People, food, drinks and atmosphere are all great. Its got a classic pub feel with all the classics on the menu.
I went at midnight and got a drink. The bartender was awesome and had a good talk. Would recommend

Nice place, sat at the bar so cant comment on the wait staff really. Bartender was good and attentive. Friendly when walking in and seated right away. Food is fairly priced and good as well. All in all, Id recommend this to friends or anyone who wants a relaxing drink and pub food with a good atmosphere.

Used to be great value good food and service. We have been coming here for years. The past three times within the last year service has been lacking......the place used to be hopping now it is almost empty and the server was chatting instead of taking our order dealing with her sidework and taping up signs instead of checking on us and leaving us sit with dirty plates for 20 minutes with empty water glasses.... Food is still good for what you pay.
Very good food, generous portions, staff were friendly, and the food was reasonably priced. Would stop here again on my next road trip.

Great place and Lea is a damn godsend
solid bar. get the spicy beef dip with a tossed salad (blue cheese dressing). they have a very normal pull tab machine but they do have a cool stock car hood on a wall. also the new bathroom mirrors have phenomenal lighting. they also have a red carpet style chain that is opened by someone that works there. very exclusive.

my brother and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Characters Pub on Christmas Eve and was blown away by the excellent food and service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff was attentive and helpful, making sure for an enjoyable night For my entree, I decided to try the Christmas Eve turkey and was not disappointed. The turkey was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with a delicious flavor. It was the perfect choice for a festive holiday dinner. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Characters Pub. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure that my dining experience was top-notch. We have been coming here every Wednesday for a couple years. And honestly we have a few absolute favourite girls that keep our drinks flowing. Tonight we had the pleasure of dealing with Paige. She is one of the best. She is an absolute doll. As are Kennedy, Marisa, Alyssa Meghan, Tiara and Brooke These are all awesome ladies who deserve to be tipped generously

I have lived in Chilliwack my whole life and characters used to be a place I could make new friends and have a few with coworkers after work but the manager has band me for over a year now and I dont feel it fits the crime and the waitresses are so picky choosy about who they serve and all our money is the same so service should be equal not pick and choose what customer you want to serve

Nothing bad to say about Characters at all, the atmosphere is very positive, working-class style pub, the food is exactly as advertised and maybe not artisan quality, but its among the best in town. If youre looking for something high-class, hoity-toity, pretentious fare, dont bother. This is real food and real people.

I randomly ended up at characters on a Thursday night, sat at the bar playing keno and thought I d throw some specialty/out of the ordinary drink requests at the bartender and she nailed 3/3 ! Plus, never stopped either, cutting lemons,wiping down coolers,taking waitresses orders,she was awesome!!

Wanted to check out the local pubs around where I just moved. I was disappointed because the prices are vancouver prices. Two Ceasars 25 bucks. I read online there was a happy hour menu but it was only for drinks. Its not anything special lots of regulars. Service was OK, I wouldnt go out of my way to go there. I cant judge on food as I thought the alcohol was priced high.

Went for breakfast while it was busy on Sunday the wait staff were very friendly, and kept the drinks full. the food was not... I ordered the eggs Benedict poached medium the hollandaise tasted like a mix, the whites were undercooked, food was all lukewarm, coffee and shredded hash browns were burnt. I had stomach troubles afterwards. Prices were discounted before noon for breakfast

This is basic pub. Great service. Smoking in the patio area was a negative for me. The food didn t seem home made.
A very middling experience with slightly disappointing food, a dingy vibe and the drinks arent going to be cheap.
Upon entering, faced with a chained off reception, sign wait to be seated. When host appeared, told to pick our own seats. Not sure why that was needed. Food was not impressive. Nothing appeared homemade. Had 3 applies. Frozen foods, packaged sauces, poor concepts. Calamari portion tiny. Poutine served with shredded cheeses, not curds, gravy was clearly a packaged sauce. Hot wings, not served hot! Forced to exit the premises through a rear door leading to a empty lot. Not inviting or pleasant experience. Will not return.
Exceptional food at an affordable price. The staff is usually very accommodating as well. Always a go-to spot if Im in Chilliwack. The soup of the day especially is something to look out for; it is always made fresh the day of.

The food was really good pub fare. Tasty and fresh. Drinks are honest. My server was prompt and friendly. A basic neighborhood pub with hints of sports. Nothing spectacular to look at but the food and service are quite well done. Parking: Lots of free parking. A bit trick leaving the lot but easy to find a space.

Characters is my Go To! Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Service is always fantastic!!! Perfect place to unwind after work with friends or just to go watch a game on your own. Parking: Its so busy on the weekends sometimes hard to find parking but generally pretty good! Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome and they have a decent kids menu!
Sunday breakfast was great. A well done Caesar (extra muddy) and waffles were a nice treat.

The Bellini I had didn t taste like a Bellini, the wings were not fully covered in sauce you could see areas were in was a plain wing. The nachos were good expect the guacamole and salsa was terrible. Staff is great!

Basic pub, it was not too busy. Staff were friendly. Ordered the same drink as my friend except she ordered a splash of cranberry juice and they charged her an extra dollar and called it a specialty cocktail. I dont agree with that.

Classic local divy bar. If you want steak get the steak sandwich instead as its the same (just on bread) and cost way less! They did a good job cooking to your order here too.
