Haven't been there for a while, so we thought we would see if the food had improved. Not so! Very tasteless - it all tasted the same. Cold food. White rice with frozen peas and carrots not very appealing. I don't consider fish and chips and fried chicken too be very Asian. After all we went there for Chinese food. There was a few pieces of beef in the beef and broccoli. A good variety desserts though. For the quality of the food it is very over priced. The best part of the whole dinner experience was the staff are very pleasant and the place is clean. Won't be going back:(
It is older and clean and welcoming. Food is simple, tasty and a good variety for everyone's taste. For lunch it is $16 with unlimited drinks cold and hot. Great ice cream for dessert. Why anyone wants to go to the Arches for $20 for a burger and fries is beyond me.
I really love this place usually I go with my dad When I get the opportunity to visit them at from Vancouver. I have to say that it's probably one of my favorite places to go It's very relaxing and the people serve you very quick so that you can sit down and have an all-you-can-eat meal. My favorite things are the meats like I love the barbecue pork I love the the fish like a white fish and it's battered really nicely I like the wonton I love the mushrooms it's making me hungry just thinking about being able to go there. If you really want to go for something because you want to ffill an empty stomach And just want to tummy full of playing good food You can't beat this place for a stop and you definitely won't be disappointed
We got take out and the portions were large and the food was good and hot. Haven’t found Chinese food in the lower mainland I’ve liked but I enjoyed this.
Was happy to see a buffet restaurant on my way to Banff . But was totally disappointed with the food. Literally all they had was a soup , some raw veggies and 1 dish of chicken and fish , both deeply fried . I had to scrap the fried rice from the dish plates. Lot of empty dishes though . Will never come back here .
I am writing this review on behalf of a colleague who has limited English.During a recent visit, he discovered a piece of wire embedded within a spring roll. Despite the unsettling experience, the server simply apologized and requested full payment. No discount or anything.I would advise exercising caution, particularly for those dining with children, as they may not be aware of any foreign objects present in their food.
Good food lots to choose from. And the ice cream excellent
We are happy seeing this family Chinese Buffet is still good after last three years. We usually go to this restaurant when we are heading to inland. We came really late for the lunch. I can understand that the food couldn't be fresh and more supply as the early time. We think if we come earlier the food would be much better. But we still have some food that we like for our late lunch, my wife was so happy seeing the prawn crackers, spring rolls and fried wontons. All the deep fried food were still crisp. We just think about how much we spend in a fast food chain stores or food courts for a meal. We think they still keep the good price for the customers. All you can eat for so many fresh cook food and desserts. We didn't eat any ice-cream but happy seeing people enjoy so many choices of ice-cream there. The place and bathrooms are clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Hopefully, we will come soon enjoying the food.

I went here with my family to eat dinner and the service was bad and they kicked us out because they were making us pay for someone who wasn t going to eat anything the manager was also really rude and she sweared at us for no reason at all I do not recommend this restaurant at all!!!
Great Smorenburg lots of variety
The main course for lunch was too subpar!
Theyre back and as good as ever. Raised the prices but was hasnt gone up in price in the last 2 years. You pay for fountain drinks now.
A average restaurant with basic selection.. food is hot and tasty..
Food was alright wasnt anything to rave about but was enjoyable still.
Very delicious food and friendly
Excellent Food! Great Value!
Go for a walk-through before you commit. Over-priced, disappointing options, currently dealing with a wicked case of gastro... Definitely regret eating here.
Convenient Affordable price Professional staff Food is cooked fresh Spacious seating Vegetarian options: Yes Dietary restrictions: Yes Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Sparse selection and quite flavorless. Will not go back.
Friendly staff. Enjoyed the dinner
A little disappointed by the lack of food, 1 hour before closing...for a buffet I have already experienced much better. Even 1 hour before closing small quantities could be added
Loved this place and reasonable price
Always enjoy variety of food
Food is very delicious friendly staff Parking: Tons of parking infront, on the side and in the back of the restaurant. Food : 5/5 |
Pass. Dishes have no flavor. Not worth the $50 for 2 people in my mind.
I recently dined at Mandarin Restaurant and had an extremely disappointing experience. The food was very bland and lacked any distinct flavor, making the meal feel like a complete waste of money. Despite the restaurant s promising appearance, the quality of the food was well below expectations. I would advise avoiding this place at all costs.
Absolutely trash food never ever come back again
Awesome Food excellent service and great food. With a big selection of great food and big selection of deserts too
Good for a buffet
This place needs a face-lift!! The food is some ok some not!!! Staff is friendly
An original and really good buffet. Very authentic taste
Terrible.
Absolutely love this place as well as the staff.
Good for group meeting.
food was very good
Was recommended by a friend to try this place and we were excited to give it a go, unfortunately we basically threw $60 in the garbage because everything was absolutely flavourless, we took one bite of each dish and decided to just eat a bowl of cereal instead, would not recommend and will not be ordering again.
I enjoyed it, for the price lots of variety. Defo need to do some upgrades on the place, just old but doesn t bother me.
Wasnt a fan of sautéed bean sprouts and there was no beef option. But everything else was fantastic. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options Parking: Lots Kid-friendliness: Family oriented Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level
This was a terrible. The food was awful. The spring rolls had nothing in them and the food was terrible tasting. It used to be a good place to eat. Maybe someone else took it over?
Food.......................... filled the hole Decor........................Aesthetically repugnant, needed a shower. Call Chef Ramsay. Food : 3/5
Real nice food for the $$
Did take out, but dang, the servers there are fantastic! Great sense of humor and super quick. Ordered the family for 6 dinner and super yummy! Will definitely be going back again soon.
We were there for Sunday lunch service, was a bit worried about the food due to couple of bad reviews. But the food was great, good selection of vegetables. Price is unbeatable considering buffet prices these days. Will come back again, highly recommended.
Sunday lunch service, the waitresses are very quick, responsive, and kind. We were one of the first diners when it opened, so the food was hot and fresh. 18 dollars per person for lunch; unbeatable buffet prices. The fried fish was the best item on the menu.
Was hoping for a Chinese food buffet. What it was is a canadian style food buffet. 25 bucks a person. Very disappointed 8
Definitely go closer to opening time. The food quality goes down significantly.
This is a great place to sit down and eat a variety of different dishes. If you come by at around 4:30 for dinner, you will sit down right away. After 5:00 or 5:30, there is a lineup to get in. If you have little ones, they might get a little impatient. We were there on a Saturday, so maybe during the week could be less of a lineup. The food is tasty, and the prices have gone up a little, but then everything else has gone up in prices, but you can eat all you want! The only thing i didnt like was the sour soup because I was expecting it to be spicy and sour. It was just sour and too acidic for my liking. Seniors get a discount. Free parking at the front. The washrooms are reasonably clean. The staff are very friendly. We will be back again. Kid-friendliness: Bring the whole family! Its roomy for strollers and wheelchairs. Wheelchair accessibility: There is plenty of room to move around. The tables are quite spacious.
We provide a Chinese buffet that can be easily enjoyed by the local elderly at an affordable price. With the exception of the slightly greasy fried foods, the seasoning is light. There are eight flavors of ice cream, and kids will be very satisfied. Vegetarian options: Stir-fried vegetables and noodles are also available. Parking: wide. Kid-friendliness: The inside of the store is large and the partitions are high, so it doesnt bother me. Wheelchair accessibility: The frontage is wide and safe. The toilet is also spacious.
I absolutely love it here. It was the best buffet I had in a long time. The staff is super nice and the food is delicious.
Warm welcome upon entry. Pleasant environment, old style Chinese restaurant and food choices. Clean. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetables! Parking: No issues at all Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly food choices Wheelchair accessibility: Typical wheel chair access and seating accommodation
Dinner buffet 4-8pm Adult $23.95 Age 9-12 $17.95 Age 3-5 $11.95 Food : 3/5 |
Would not recommend eating here. Nothing appeared to be fresh and things were not being restocked. My friends and I were not feeling well after eating here. Will not be going back again
Not many buffet places left. Staff is friendly, they have a good selection of food and price is decent. Thanks.
Very good food, lots to choose from
Not bad, but not great. We went for supper and brought our grandkids 7 and 9. It cost us $17 for each of them, and I found that to be a bit on the pricey for kids . Adult prices are not too bad. . Seems to be a local favorite tho, as the was full.
Friendly and good buffet. Parking: Lots of free parking. Food : 4/5 |
After visiting this place then well theres nothing to write home about. I give 3/5 no more, no less. Char sui and spring rolls were OK.
Well t that sure was disappointing!!!! I showed up there for lunch. There was a barely any meat Items. It seems like they were trying to cheap out serving vegetarian everything. And for the soup spoons, they had little tiny Tea spoons. I will not be back.
In need of makeover, very dark and dreary. Food quality has gone way down, used to be my favorite place to go when I was young.. Overpriced for what it is.
So nice staff too enjoy the clean place nice meal too
Okay... I loved this place. I loved the food. One caveat is that Im a middle-aged Caucasian male. This restaurant caters to my taste and my needs 100%. My Asian wife is used to more authentic Asian foods and tastes. So, this was not 100% her type of restaurant. That being said, she loved the mussels, steamed fish, and steamed vegetables, as these were very fresh. The staff were amazing and very friendly. This was our first time visiting, but it was clear who the regulars were. Some were even greeted by name. This was such an inviting and warm atmosphere, not by the ambiance but rather because of the staff. It was very clear that they cared for every visitor.
A large variety of food that fits everyone. Lots of ice cream and desserts also. The bbq pork is amazing!!! Kid-friendliness: I have been taking my kids here since they were babies. Now they are 13,12 and 8. Staff is still the same and very friendly.
Yummy. Jello very cubed. Icecream gud. Fortune cookies confusing. Vegetables steamy. Pork gud. People nice. Will eat there when have money again
Average bland food, the won ton soup was good. Was very disappointed.
Good buffet. Lots of choices! Vegetarian options: Lots of veggies. Parking: Lots of space. Kid-friendliness: Lots of treats for kids. Jello, Cookies, and Ice cream.
First and last time coming here, could hardly stomach half a plate of buffet. We were in and out in 15 minutes. Took us longer to pay as they all stood in a circle speaking chinese then it did for us to try to eat the food. Didnt bring us cutlery not a huge deal as we just used chop stick. The only thing edible in the buffet was the spring roll. I would stay far far far away.
Pretty good food, good value. The chop suey is particularly good, we quite enjoyed the fried rice and chow mein. Though the almond chicken was more batter than chicken. All in all, would recommend.
Service is great, food is wonderful. A very inexpensive lunch with many choices.
Great food! We went for lunch. Wish they had a bit more main dish selections, but otherwise unbeatable value!
The food was horrible and very few choices. No chow meins, no chicken balls, took a scoop of soup and the smell prevented me from eating it. We had a lady at a nearby table very loud and obnoxious using very foul language. I will never, ever go there again. We came here from Ontario and the have a Mandarine Garden Chinese buffet chain that blows this out of the park. I thought somehow it was tne same company but shoyld have realized as soon as I walked in it was not. It was just the worst
Reasonable priced, great buffet, constantly good and great staff.
Food is good and plenty of it. Service is excellent
Being blunt, this isnt a place to go for fine dining. ~$18 gets you in the door, ~$21 if you also want a bottomless drink. The hot food will mostly be fresh, and the staff is friendly. Edited with 2023-24 prices
We ordered beef fried rice and chicken fried rice. There were two pieces of beef in the dish we were left with two containers of rice .We called and they were very defensive and would help us at all, Will never go back. Very angry people there and no customer service skills whatsoever
The variety of food is amazingly delicious and the people and service is always great. A favour place to eat out for Chinese food but also has fries, chicken nuggets, fish sticks and tonnes of salad, plus won ton soup and sweet and sour soup, and a huge variety of deserts and ice creams! Can t go wrong.
Not particularly fancy but great price for a good Chinese buffet. Tasty food and good variety of dishes.
Enjoyed will be ordering again.
Been coming here since I was a kid! Love it. Just went this weekend with my boyfriend (he s never been) he was a happy camper. Love love love this place!
Great Staff! Great Food! Love their Tiger Ice Cream! Just wish they had Sesame Balls on their Buffet! Prices very reasonable. Dont forget to tip for good service!
Wonton soup is really good!
I drive from Abby to eat here. This place is well-ran and well taken care of. Its clean and beautiful honestly. The food is super fresh and theres lots of great stuff to choose from. I start with one of the soups and some spring rolls, yum. I really have to comment on the staff and how they are the real gem that makes this place shine. Thank you all :) Vegetarian options: The vegetarian dishes are identified. Dietary restrictions: I cant have dairy and ate whatever I wanted here without consequence. There were a few obvious dairy items I avoided (i.e. cake).
delicious as usual. Love the food!!
Great food and excellent service. My favourite place to eat in Chilliwack!
The food is really good most of the time but on some days it can be subpar. But thats just the nature of buffet food and overall it is one f the most consistent out there Vegetarian options: They have tons of vegetarian options and label items that have meat in them that isnt obvious as having meat!
We love taking our family here to eat! The staff always remember us and the food always taste great!
The absolute WORST Chinese Buffet ever. Looks like a variety until actually dish up The only chicken is nuggets that taste terrible. After Our first bite of food We shud have just left the Restaurant. DO NOT RECOMMEND Parking: Limited as was on a Sunday
Restaurant wasnt bad, service I guess was good for help yourself. Food was horrible not fresh nothing really to choose from.
Extremely disappointed with the food quality. Though they have many different varieties of hot foods, the food is not fresh and keeps getting piled on top of the old ones. The place isn t clean either, I sat down and had food for over 45 minutes and the same tables haven t been cleared off.
Will come back
The food is good. Ill go back for my fix. The price is right. Some fried foods are really oily. But, you know what youre in for and you love it until youre full. Going back.
Its pretty typical for a Chinese buffet. I ate at the one in Abbotsford many times. Not as much selection as Uncle Willy, but nicer and cleaner than that place. There were several no meat items, but no beef items. Noodles and rice and veggies dishes are all no meat. So if you wanted beef noodles or beef and broccoli no luck. Egg foo young is considered no meat but it is egg. About a quarter of the trays were empty at lunch. Tartar sauce for fish was at the cashier along with green onions topping. The ice cream was soft. My toddler ran around the place, its quite large. Saturday lunch had a fair number of people, no tour bus.
Great Restaurant! Great food.
Not so much selection. Typical Chinese food. Service is good though, price is right.
Food is delicious and always fresh. Lots of variety.
Very Good restaurant!
Food was tastey.
Love the Buffet always full of Chinese faves
Not as good as they used to be years ago but will fill you up and great price.
This place was ok. Had to check it out. The Only part of the food that I expected more from was the fried rice & fried chicken.. the rice was bland and the fried chicken was salty.. for the price it was worth checking out nonetheless. The lineup for the food section/buffet was a bit ridiculous there was no rules set In place for where the lineup began with people coming at both ends of the buffet there was no inforcment. Overall the food was good, the pricing was fair. There was lots of seating and plenty of parking.
Western style Chinese food buffet. Priced right and lots of options. Dessert and ice cream selection is very good. Ive been going for years. Always the same items Ive never seen anything new there on the menu but it has everything you could want or need.
Horrible quality at a high price. Worst Chinese food i have ever encountered. Avoid at all costs.
It is so great they are open again.
I add rice and chow mein noodles to my won ton soup. Then try to take what i know i can finish eating from the buffet. Some interesting people there. Saw a guy whose plate was stacked a foot high. He ate it. Glad to see elders there with a healthy appetite. Go early for lunch and early for supper.
Hadnt been in years as moved away but used to be a family gathering favorite. Staff and Owners are super friendly and sooo many menu choices to please toddlers to seniors. Able to accommodate 19 people for our 3 birthday celebration. Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs
Want to go to a great place Excellent eats All you can eat nice or take out if thats what you fancy Kid-friendliness: Have great selection for all you can eat for the kiddos as well
We ll I liked it lots of options lots of veggies place is clean and the server are nice $23 with tip $25 I think I ll be back best come on a busy day lots of fresh stuff nice ice cream choices Vegetarian options: Lots of tofu and veggies
Fantastic buffet absolutely delicious
The food was okay. The ice cream was awesome.
Good place to go to eat I recommend it
The best wonton soup ever. I cant find anywhere that has soup as flavourful as this Im obsessed with it and its always consistent. Been going here for years never disappointed. Staff is always friendly.
Hello Wanda!
Good food, clean..mmmm
Very, very yummy ! Everything fresh all time. Super tasty
The quality of the food was not great, dessert selection was awful. First time and last.
Stomach problems right after Second time it has happened here Food
I ve been an on and off again patron of this establishment for over a decade. I m always happy to be greeted by the ladies, they get to know you after awhile and I appreciate their sense of humour. I go for the seafood (dinner) so it is most definitely worth the price and let s be real who doesn t like endless ice cream?!
I dont eat at buffets since covid...so I decided to order 3 dishes for pickup....The person on the phone was friendly and took my order... I picked it up and went home.... I thought it was strange that I didnt smell anything on the way home...(usually you can smell the food as soon as it is in the car)...So I got home and eagerly opened the bag....It was the most awful looking Chinese food Ive ever seen....I ordered shrimp fried rice... it looked like white rice with a couple of shrimp thrown in....The plain chow mein looked like yellow noodles with nothing in it...(I told the person on the phone I wanted the same kind as they serve on the buffet....(I havent had the buffet since before covid) but it looked and tasted nothing like I remembered....The last thing I ordered was green beans with black bean sauce...It also looked and tasted gross...I paid $43.00 with the 10 percent discount for pickup....I couldnt eat the food so I unfortunately had to throw it out...I hate wasting food....But it really was that bad....Sorry...but Im just being honest...I definitely will never be ordering from there again...
Got there at 645 to barely any food available. It was all scraped together, crunchy bits. I asked, but it didnt seem like they were too interested in making anything fresh even though they had a bunch of people in there. Wonton soup disintegrated in my mouth before I could even chew it. I had to spit it out , or I was gonna puke. Even the jello was soggy. How do you get soggy jello? Other dessert options were stale store bought cookies and cake. We wont be back. The server was the only good thing, or it would have been 1 star.
Great location, clean and well-ventilated. The tables are amply-spaced so you dont feel too crowded. Many food choices to select from but they re so-so. I wish there were choices like the ones you see in buffet restaurants in the US, such as Japanese sushi, western fried foods aside from Chinese stirfry.
Very greasy but very good. I recommend it if you have the munchies.
Food was ok. Service was alright. Atmosphere wasnt great honestly. Guess the AC was broken. Very hot and muggy
Great friendly staff, good variety of savory dishes and desserts.
FRIDAY NIGHT!!! SHOULD BE OPEN UNTIL 10:00 PM .. YOUR RIGHT ON A TRUCKER ROUTE .. YOU WOULD BE BUSY RIGHT UP TO 10:00 PM
The service was actually good, the staff were friendly and attentive. I can tell a lot of the people eating here are regulars and perhaps they wnjoy the food just as it is. Unfortunately to me, the food was not anywhere close to the standard I was expecting, which was just basic westernized Chinese. I like authentic and spicy but thats not what I was expecting either, just to clarify. This was more a food quality issue in my opinion. A lot of the veggie dishes were very watery and soggy, so much so that my rice wasnt even absorbing it and there was still lots on my plate after. My boyfriend said that the fried food tasted like it was being fried together in reused, old oil. Even the desserts threw us off a bit, a lot of what was provided was stale, the jello was also soggy. Ive eaten at a lot of these kinds of places when I lived in the city, maybe the food has just gone downhill and used to be much better. I know running a restaurant is hard and the cost of food is insanely high for all of us, but I feel like we were ripped off at $50 for the two of us after much anticipation of finally trying this place. Definitely do some research before coming in to see if this is going to be something youd enjoy.
Food comes out on a steady basis, so there are always fresh choices. They have a salad bar, dessert bar including delicious ice cream, and a decent selection of chinese/western cuisine, as well as fried chicken, fish, chips, and perogiesto name a few. There is something for everyone.
Pathic food selection getting worse every year this will be the last time I stop here when coming through Chilliwack, come on who serves store bought breaded chicken nuggets...not even worth 1 star...
This is the best buffet Ive ever been to. TONS of options for everyone including vegans! And basically everything in the buffet is labelled meat or non meat. Theyve got multiple ice cream options too including a rainbow sherbert. Plus its the least expensive buffet Ive seen in years! It cost us 50 together with a nice tip included wheras other places tend to approach closer to 80 bucks. I cant recommend them enough. Vegetarian options: All of these are actually VEGAN options: Mushrooms, fried+steamed rice, broccoli, mixed veggies, beets, oranges, mixed fruit, tofu, fries, onion rings, rainbow sherbert, green beans, chow mein, fried cabbage, fried bean sprouts, rice noodles, hot and sour soup, curry samosas, and spring rolls, maple leaf and fortune cookies
Great smorgasbord, super fast take-out! The best Chinese food in Chilliwack in my book. Parking space
A family favorite place to stop and eat when we are in Chilliwack.
Inexpensive chinese buffet... Abbotsford & Chilliwack
Big dinning area. Friendly staff. Food was good and filling.
Friendly staff great food great price! My weekly go to spot now that I moved here. Not many ayce buffets around
This was a very pleasant surprise for a lunch. Although not as extensive as a dinner buffet, the presentation showed nicely prepared food. There was no evidence of heavy starch or heavy sauces. Tasting proved the observation correct. It looked good, and it tasted good. Our server was conscientious and kept our used dishes cleared and checked to see if we needed anything each time. We will be back again for lunch, and we will give dinner a try as well. Based on our experience, we recommend this restaurant.
Very friendly staff and service. Traditional style open buffet, menu is fine and more towards western taste. But it is a rare open buffet nowadays. Took my family there on the way to Harrison hot springs. Its not Ritz Carlton but everyone loved it. Will def visit again.
Would absolutely never eat here again. I truly do not understand all the good reviews. We decided to try the buffet as we just moved to chilliwack and saw the good reviews. The food was cold and stale. It tasted like they ve never changed their deep fryer oil. Everything looked old and dingy. We literally ate a few bites, paid and left and went home to make dinner. The only good thing about the place was the lovely woman working up front. Save your time, money and taste buds and skip this place!
Fairly traditional old school all you can eat. Not authentic. Not really consistent with westernized Chinese either. Food is nothing special but the price is right. Its a good place for qty vs quality. Take your hungriest family members.
Price is reasonable but it has more space to be great in terms of quality and variety
Great buffet Lots of options Very busy Food : 5/5
Very good
Its always a great meal when we go. Fresh and tasty Chinese and western food. The hard ice cream and wonton soup are my go to. Staff are always amazing. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and are amazing when it comes to the clean up after our 2 year old.
A bit of a hit and miss. The food was ok but not great
Friendly staff, buffet is quite big but dont expect very flavoured food. Rather bland for Chinese food, sadly. Not a lot of selections for mains, a few pork mains. $17.95 for a buffet isnt too bad but its not cheap either. For that price Id like more flavoured food
Good
The food was fresh and hot. It was a very busy night, but the staff were quick, friendly and efficient. Parking: Lots of parking in back of restaurant.
Love this place
It is not the best Chinese food I have ever had, but I think its drill very good, especially for a buffet. If you go during lunch the food is usually hot and fresh. As far as buffet experiences go, its one of the last ones left and Mandarin Garden should be celebrated for that. Go stuff yourself on all you can eat Wonton soup and deep fried chicken.
When you have been to mandarin gardens in Ontario, well then, not much I could say about this place. Blah! So mediocre. 4 of us after church. We won t be going back.
Terrible food and service! If I could I, would give ZERO FOR SERVICE. But their DISservcie is excellent! Waited a long time for our drinks! Chinese food is salty, so we needed drinks. Got up from our table and walked to the counter where they prepare drinks. I asked the server doing our table we were waiting a long time for our drinks. She turned around and scolded us by raising her voice how busy she was and we needed to be PATIENT! Typical high sodium, high fat and oily food enough to give you health hazards! We have never gone back, and this was a little while ago! This place graduated! They will, NEVER, EVER have our business or our recommendations! If you want REAL good Chinese food, there are other choices in Chilliwack as well as other areas!
