Ordered on ubereats and live somewhat close so it arrived hot which was nice. The wonton soup was decent, good flavour on the broth, the wonton noodles were a little undercooked but I don’t mind it like that. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. I wish I had looked up the reviews before ordering. Like others have said, the sweet and sour pork had an odd flavour, was it 5 spice? Ginger? Not what you would expect. The quality of the meat was not good and it was overcooked and dried out. Had exactly 1 wedge of pineapple. The chicken chow mein was hands down the worst chow mein I’ve ever had in my life. It makes me nauseous even thinking about it, it was actually that gross. First, there was barely any chicken actually in it, maybe 3 tiny dried out pieces the size of a dime. The rest was just a blob of ridiculously overcooked, mushy, bland noodles that were cut up into tiny pieces. The spring rolls were super super greasy with barely any filling and bland too. I was excited to have leftovers for a couple days but instead I’m throwing out 90% of the meal it was that bad. I’m absolutely shocked they charge the prices they do. Definitely won’t be ordering again.
Sorry but the basic Chinese food wasn't worth the price. $20 Sweet & sour pork had almost no sauce & just 3-5 small pcs each of pineapple, onion & peppers. $15 chicken chow mein only had 5 thin pcs of chicken the size of a loonie & was just noodles, no onions or cabbage. With Capital Restaurant & Golden Dragon Village in Chilliwack as the local gold standards for Asian cuisine, Woodman food was more "Gingko quality" (or less), & was a complete disappointment. The $2 extra charge for a tiny plastic bag (worth 25 cents) I found out about when reviewing the receipt AFTER leaving was the final straw & motivated me to post this review... PS most other restaurants don't charge for bags if you're spending $30+ for lunch.
Ordered in, enjoyed the spring rolls and the sweet and sour pork isn’t the glowing orange sauce it’s more of a honey based sauce which I preferred. Lots of chicken chow mein and two big containers of won ton soup. Dinner for two was an ample amount of food for three full dinners. Fresh, tasty and nicely packed.
I went in for Wor Won Ton soup. It was just ok. I can't speak to the rest of the menu as only tried this one dish.
We ordered boba from the desk and it was great! Tasted amazing, great quick service and lots of flavours to choose from! I ordered the black sugar pearl tea and the matcha pearl tea, and we rate them 10/10. Definitely coming back soon
5 stars for obvious hardworking family who care about what they serve. It may be pricier and you may get less but we ordered dinner for 3 and it was plenty. The food had good flavour and was fresh. Freshness and friendliness is paramount for me. Ginko's may give you more but that is some seriously terrible Chinese lol.
I ordered the beef chow main with fried dumplings and almond chicken. I wasn't terribly impressed, small portions that only tasted okay. The almond chicken was more breading than chicken, and what meat was there was tough. The dumplings looked big, but had more air than filling. The chow mein was okay, not really something write home about. It was okay, but you can get okay food elsewhere for a better price.
So lovely place for dining in. Very fresh and tasty. I had white jjam bong, ginger beef, sweet &sour pork and jajangmyun too. All dish was fantastic. I would return back as soon as possible.
Worst Chinese food I ever
Chow mein and deep fried prawns was good. Almond chicken (no flavour), spring rolls (no flavour), sweet and sour battered pork (deep fried with a little drizzle but no flavour), dry garlic pork (deep fried thin battered no garlic flavour ), white rice but soy sauce had no flavour. NEVER going to order them again.
You should hire better staff that doesnt scam people online.
Very friendly Staff
Closed early.
Lousy and overpriced.
Tried new place as that s what we do, menu ok. Ordered the dinner for 2. Won ton Soup and tiny spring rolls were tasty. Soup very hot! We then had sweet & sour pork and chow me in. Pork was very delicious and enjoyed very much. Here s where it went down hill .. they brought sweet and sour pork out and after 10 mins I asked where the other dish was and they indicated the cook only had one pan ????? So now our pork was cold when the chow Mein arrived. Not pleased! Had to request refills on water and no one asked how we enjoyed the meal. Sorry to say, will not be returning. We were the only ones in the restaurant! Now we see why?
Ordered out tonight and the food was absolutely delicious! The best Chinese I ve had in a long time. Even my kids couldn t have enough, and they are picky eaters. Food was fresh, tasted clean and perfectly seasoned - not greasy at all, not too salty, not too sweet, just right. This is now my go -to place for Chinese.
Good service. Food tastes good, But texture a bit hard and gummy, like its been sitting awhile. Does not seem fresh. Food
We recently held my sons birthday dinner at this place and it was excellent and perfect place. Food and service are wonderful. Staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Best Chinese food in Chilliwack along with Superb service. Dietary restrictions: No SESAMEE SEEDS as requested Food : 5/5 |
Some dishes were really good, others not so much. Spring rolls were mushy on the inside with very little filling. Beef and broccoli was not that tasty and not much beef. Chow mein, chop suey, sweet and sour pork were good. The dry garlic ribs were somewhere in the middle. Not sure about the chicken balls because I didnt have any. Big disappointment was from the time I ordered to pick up by skip the dishes was 20 min. Approximately 13 min for delivery and the food was stone cold, we had to reheat each plate. On the fence as to whether I would order from them again.
First time ordering the food was delicious
Great food, varied menu, great service! Lives the Boba tea
Co worker eat there yesterday and his girlfriend both got sick. After that I was reading the reviews. I wouldn t never order that because of that. Even it would be the last place of earth
I would give this place 0 stars. I ordered a combo for 2 for myself and my boyfriend last night and we both woke up with bad diarrhea and felt very ill. I ve had constant diarrhea all day. The food also had a different taste and not in a good way. I will never order from the restaurant again. I m positive we have food poisoning from the food we got from here yesterday evening. Absolutely disgusting! Obviously they are paying people for good reviews or getting people they know to give them good reviews. I should have read the bad reviews about this place before ordering. Could have avoided this horrible feeling in my stomach. It literally feels rotten.
Worst place ever. Hands down. Im always on the road (have ate at alot of places). The worst place ever. If you want a sour stomach or diarrhea this is the place to eat just make sure its not a day before a work day. Wrong choice as I had to work the next day. (Zero) stars for me.
Great food every time and friendly staff =)
Best in Chilliwack. Incredibly fresh ingredients. Won Ton soup, Chow mein, and Chicken balls are excellent. You cannot go wrong ordering from here! I am admittedly not a huge fan of the sweet and sour sauce itself but thats a small preference
Only place we order from in the wack Vegetarian options: Fresh n cooked to perfection Food : 5/5 |
Got a takeout Friday, food wasnt great didnt have any flavor. Mongolia beef was the only dish I ordered that was okay. The rice noodles and sweet and sour chicken was bland wouldnt recommended this Chinese takeout. Wont be ordering again.
Restaurant was so clean, food was delicious and very fresh! Fantastic take out service
This was by far the worst Chineese food I ve had in Chilliwack. I ordered fried rice, chop suey and chow mein. The chop suey had no flavor, the sauce (cornstarch) was actually white - no soy or sauce of any kind. The rice was bland and the chow mein tasted like cheap noodles fried in hot peppers. They were polite on the phone and since it was take out I can t speak to the atmosphere. I won t be going back.
Best Place to have Bubba Tea !!!! Customer Service is excellent as well :-)
The placed looked good and clean .the food is not to my liking. But very friendly staff. All and all good place
This place is overpriced and underwhelming. I got the king pao chicken, and felt I deserved compensation because the chicken was over all bland and too spicy. Not to mention the chicken quality was sub par and dry at best. The sweet and sour has a funky taste, which I assume is authentic, however I much prefer the more localized red sweet and sour we usually see in NA. Upon requesting a refund, I had to talk to the chef personally, which made for an uncomfortable situation in which I was hesitant to speak my true feelings on the food quality. I tried ordering one time after that but was refused service because the chef is too butt hurt to deliver to my location again. Free rice doesn t fix everything
Ordered the dinner combo for 1. Waited probably an hour for our food when the entire restaurant was empty. Chicken and pork had a weird sauce on it that tasted like cinnamon? Only thing that was decent was the price
Overall not impressed and quite upset. food was gross and wasn t offered a discount for only taking 1-2 bites of the food. Manager sounds like an angry person, definitely do not recommend this place.
The service was the best ive ever had. food was amazing! definitely recommend
Delicious! It was amazing the noodles were tender and the the sauce was perfectly made. 5 STARS!!!!
Delicious meal great customer service. I grab lunch or dinner on a regularly.
I have been ordering from here for almost a year and have never been let down, very delicious
Went here once and the food was pretty good, good portions too. The waiter was a pretty weird guy and didn t seem like he knew what he was doing. I tried to order take out recently and went to pick up and they told me they don t have an order from me, even though I have the phone call records. Won t be coming back :)
Love the food tastes delicious
Tried this place for the first time there food taste way better then the others not all that grease this barely had any grease food taste really good I bought the dinner for 4 people had left overs and good pricing I recommend this place for Chinese food cuisine
Ordered delivery, and we were quite impressed with the food quality and portion. Everything we had tasted great, and definitely better than the other places we have tried. I can t speak to the inside of the establishment because we ordered out, but overall we re happy with the order.
Just ordered take out, the sizes were alright but the food was very bland and the chicken balls were rock hard. Definitely not worth $90. Won t be ordering again.
It was ok. Wouldnt order from there again. Definitely need a taste for there food. Fried rice greasy, chow main different, dry garlic to salty sweet and sour thats a no. Although prawns were soggy they tasted good. For what we ordered over priced.
Great taste and the place clean and confortable. Not desserts!
First time ordering here and we were impressed! The absolute best Chinese food we ve ever tasted. We will be ordering again.
First time there excellent had dinner for 4 and lemon chicken was excellent will be back better than other Chinese food down the street
Paid a lot of money for the dinner for 5 portions are so small got the beef and broccoli only 4 pieces of beef in it and the sweet and sour pork was very tough please don t order from here very expensive for what you get it s high way robbery
Best bubble tea
Absolutely the worst Chinese food Ive ever had. Every dish was disgusting. Would never order from them again. HORRIBLE!!!
I had a mango smoothie with pearls, it was the best boba I have ever had!
Amazing! Food is really good and not like the other restaurants that have Chinese food Service is amazing, especially the waiter, he is very positive. You can just relax and eat without worrying! The veggie spring rolls is VERY recommend, I really love it. The drinks are really good, they taste really natural! Definitely coming again!
Great chinese food. Friendly people and you get extra rice. Servings are plentiful and seasoned well. They are upping their game
Quality and quantity of food was good and they were still able to serve me even though I came in close to closing time.
Late review. My family and I ate in this adorable little restaurant over a month ago. The food here isnt your typical cookie cutter Chinese food. It was better and it was amazing. Just wish we could order for delivery on the other end of the city.
No one answers when you call. Phone just rings... during business hours.. poor service
As someone who is half Chinese, Im disgusted that the Chinese food at this establishment is inedible. We ordered on skip the dishes and spent over 80 dollars. I wanted hot and sour soup and got a bowl of darkness with broccoli baby corn and no mushrooms.. whoever is giving this restaurant positive reviews must be getting paid!
We ride motorcycles and live in the Langley/ Pitt Meadows areas in the Fraser Valley east of Vancouver. We eat at tons of different places for breakfast, lunch and supper all the time on our rides. I think I can speak for the others in the group, when I say that we consider lots of factors before saying a restaurant is good or bad. We have been back a half dozen times now, we have tried an assortment of items on their menu and can honestly say the following: 1) The presentation of the food on the plate has always been excellent, the wonderful aroma of their dishes immediately causes you to want to dig in quickly. 2) The prices are more than fair and are actually very reasonable considering the quality of their meals. 3) The restaurant is really clean,,, their kitchen and washrooms are especially clean. great attention to detail. They even have real flowers in their restaurant,,, that require attention to maintain. 4) The staff are freindly, personable, professional and their service is spot on. Great place to go if and when you are in the area, we dont believe you will be disappointed.
So nice food and good service
This place does not even deserve one star. We ordered from them last night and the food was DISGUSTING!! The spicy chicken was not chicken at all it was literally SPICY DOG! Tasted horrible and so hard to chew. It went right in the garbage. Wasted my money and got sick from the few bites that were taken it. My stomach was hurting so much and I was vomiting all night. I should have read the reviews before i ordered my food. Don t waste your money and if you don t want to eat a dog because that chicken was not chicken then do not order from this place ever!
Phone ordering with prices was horrible service. !!! They re pork and chicken is the same I swear .. and incomparable to any other restaurant we couldn t even finish any thing left over yet barely eat it .!
This was an epic fail, who uses this level of cinnamon in sweet and sour? Why is it brown and soggy? The food looks anemic and is flavorless. If you are reading this to decide whether or not to order, just DONT, what a waste of money. How are they still in business?
Excellent place, I was waiting for my take out and the lady served me a complimentary hot tea. And when I got home I found a free bowl of rice too!!! Amazing staff and food delicious! Thanks Food : 5/5
The Place is so cozy and the server is so polite. We just had a comment about their wonton that is very little meat inside but the server was so nice to offer us to change the item.
The fried food was so over done not just crunchy but dead and the lack of , rather one piece of broccoli in our veg noodles. Food Was inedible. The telephone contact was very professional. Food would be replaced. Still ate ichiban noodles tonight. With cooks like this. I know it s hard to get good employees this business should be shut down.
Awesome
Canton is better and prices too.
Horrible, what they are trying to pass off as sweet and sour sauce is disgusting, chicken unrecognizable. Wasted $45 most went into the trash, you have been warned
Not only the worst Chinese food Ive ever had, but the worst food in general! Disgusting. And the price was too expensive. If I could I would of gave it 0 stars. What a waste of money.. oh and I feel the photos that are advertised are not from this restaurant! Including the people giving five stars must work, or know the people
There is no option that allows you to order rice as a side dish on skip the dishes. Just got Mongolian beef without anything. Retarded. What Chinese restaurant doesnt offer a bowl of rice on the side for 3 bucks or so. Checked three times. There is no option. Food is soso.
I had low expectations when I read all the one star reviews but my wife and I really enjoyed our dinner for two with wonton soup sweet and sour chicken and chicken chowmein. Lots of food for the two of us and we were both satisfied by our meal!
The go to for Canadian Chinese food..staff is great and the food has a family taste to it. Prices are extremely fair and portions are large. Veggies are fresh and never over cooked in sauce.
I really like Woodman Chinese Food. They have put in good covid precautions, which I am happy to see and the food is pretty good. Prices are pretty good too.
Worst ever sweet and sour sauce was like corn syrup with brown sugar disgusting. Pork was rock hard beef chop suey had no flavor or beef juices and meat was white. Tried a while back was waay better no idea what chamged but nasty now.
Awful and all around gross zero flavor ordered beef and Brocoli 3 pieces of beef in it seriously never order from here again who puts cinnamon on chicken
We ordered wonton soup, chow mein, bbq pork, jawbone and some during today. The food was great! They served large portions and have super friendly staff.
Ordered BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Honey Garlic Pork, Wonton soup, Chicken Chow Mein, Moisture Dumplings and Red Jjam Bbong. Everything was delicious and great service too!
We ordered four dishes 1. chicken fried rice had Lima beans in it and mixed veggies found it made the flavour off tasting because of too many veggies. 2. Chicken chow mein was pretty good. 3. Honey garlic chicken was flavourless and had a off odour. 4. Almond chicken was pretty good. And we got a side of fried rice which was actually only sticky rice. Up side of the order was staff was very friendly!! And we got fortune cookies and sesame seeds were toasted !
Dined in tonight and ordered the dinner for four. Was super impressed with the food... it all tasted super fresh and not like it had been pre prepared like at some places. New favourite spot to go to for Chinese.
They make good vegetable chow mein noodles spicy with tofu their vegetable fried rice is good too a bit pricy but good
BEWARE, this place is horrible. We spent 60 dollars on the 4 person meal, and wouldve been better off eating our dogs poop, and some compost for the side. Everything tastes like cinnamon, and the family of 4 meal was only enough to maybe feed my 2 year old son. Good service though, and the place was spotless.
Not allowed to dine in yet
Very friendly and food was great.... definitely order from here again!!! Thank you
So good! We ordered 2 dishes and the dry garlic (excellent) pork came with white rice! The beef chow mein is excellent as well! Thank you Woodman!
Lovely staff. Beautiful and clean interior. Terrible food.
First time ordering from here! Amazing food and amazing service!
Bobba tea was excellent
Friggin delish, my go to when order Chinese.
It was good, found the chicken in the chow mein and chop suey was very dry. Kinda ruined those dishes. But the spring rolls were the best weve ever had.
We ordered take-out from this place and they even have a picture of the supposed beef and broccoli as well as some other dishes on their menu but what we picked up only had some resemblance to Chinese food. The beef and broccoli had four of tiniest, saddest pieces of beef Ive ever encountered (yes I counted), same thing for the beef chop suey. The sweet and sour chicken was OK but there was probably only enough chicken because its cheaper to make. If you want to pay $50 for a couple heads of broccoli and some sad veggies, this is the place for you!
I haven t been here yet as I didn t like fact that when I asked about their combos Not 1 had vegetables in them, not one .. mm all had noodles, rice pork chicken balls in batter etc but No veggies -so I walked out !
E-Ordered Tuesday night take out, ready for pick up on time at 530. No Covid line up here. Dinner for 2 and a chicken ball dish for $50 all was fair to average, polite friendly place. Smaller portions, s/s pork was quite chewy.
Worst sweet and sour pork I ever had. Tastes more like cinnamon toast crunch.
We paid $50 for 3 ppl food not good at all I feel I got ripped off . I dont know how this place still open .
Staff very friendly but it wont makeup for the food witch it was just awful.
No Comparison to Pho Galaxy s Shrimp Chow Main - Shrimps are very small and few - taste is not there either - will not order from there again!
the very best in town
terrible food. one of the worst food ever that i have eaten
Was my first time trying this restaurant.... Was the worst food iv ever had. Looked nothing like what was advertised. Little to no meat in the beef chop suey... Dont waste your money here....
Over priced, over rated, should be avoided. We ordered delivery to try it out, I can t say we ll do it again. I should state, the food was not terrible. It was just so average. I could tell the ingredients were fresh which I respect, but that was the only plus for me. We ordered chicken chow mien, veg chop suey, and ginger beef. The chicken chow mien was veeery bland, cooked well, but just no flavour. The veg chop suey was the same, cooked well, but zero flavour. The ginger beef was the best tasting, but it was chewy instead of crispy, and still just average tasting. I will say they threw in a free side of white rice, which was nice. Can t say i plan on spending $50 for 3 average dishes again any time soon.
Very friendly and helpful staffs, decent foods
We ate here 6 months ago and were so disappointed in the food...just all around bad. We went back recently hoping it was a one off...it wasnt. So disapointed. Lovely staff though!
My wife enjoyed the Won - Ton soup.
It exactly what I want and expect from Chinese food. I always get the dinner combo with the sweet and sour pork, spring rolls and chow mien and my expectations are met every time. The combo comes to a reasonable price and is almost to much food. Plus they are very friendly which is always nice.
Just had a lunch combo . Very good & quick too. Best chicken fried rice ive had in years.
Quick delicious lunch!!
Ordered from skip the dishes and 5 hours later contacted for a refund. We are all sick only one not sick is the one person who does not like Chinese food. Food tasted different than I am used to allspice or cloves in seasoning was not fond of it but the little I tried made me sick.
Very authentic yummy food
It was ok . Very clean ,tipical Chinese food.
Food is just ok. Not the best one. Too expensive if I compare to other restaurants.
Amazed
I ordered from skip and it came very fast but the pork was soggy and the rice was cold. I don t think I would recommend this place
Excellent food excellent service
The change in menu from the original menu when this place first open is night and day. The taste, quantity, and quality of the food decreased and their servers/cashiers were barely understandable or able to interact with native English speakers. Maybe things have changed since we last visited but we dont plan on returning on the chance that things are the same.
I ordered skip the dishes from them.. worst Chinese I ve ever had.. and that says a lot considering they re no real good Chinese places here! My beef chop suey.. where was the beef? Like 2 little pieces with huge pieces of peppers.. it tasted like dirt.. the honey garlic pork tasted like sawdust.. I don t have typically high standards for Chinese.. I paid 50$ for small portions I got the deep fried prawns, honey garlic pork and bcs.. and very very poor quality. So disappointing. Y all need to figure out your food cause that was terrible and judging by other reviews.. you need to either lower your prices way down or maybe I dunno.. improve your food? Just a suggestion
Order was correct, food tasted great, fast service & a few unexpected extras were thrown in...highly recommend!
the chicken balls and the crispy pork was soggy (proboably quickly reheated) and the water chestnuts in the chop suey tasted rancid, not to mention they have higher prices then other places in Chilliwack that give you better food for less money.
Great noodle soup.
Food was good and the waitress was attentive. Would recommend the Golden Gyoza super tasty.
Just ordered here for the first time, and was very happy with my experience. The service was awesome, I didnt catch her name, but she was very polite and personable. The food is really good, the spring rolls were way bigger than I expected. The meat is good quality, none of that chewiness you sometimes get from lower priced places. Looking forward to ordering from here again!
Horrible prices for the food you get. 15 for a few slices of beef on grass. Never again.
The service was poor. The cook was poor. Too expensive for the portion of food. Would not recommend others to go there.
So good! Ordered take out a few times and it is tasty, not greasy and great portions! Very friendly staff.
The hostess was very nice and made sure we were comfortable and entertained while we waited for our food.
tasteless.
Good restaurant! Ate lots of food. For all the Koreans apparently eating here: ! Or something like that
Wifes in love with the place. Me not so much. Roll of the dice as most Chinese food places are. Beer is cold. Service ok. Kinda cafeteria like setting.
First time here, absolutely delicious. Will definitely be coming back.
Wow~~ It s so delicious here!! When you go to Garrison, dont forget to stop by. I cant forget the taste of jjambbong.
Great food Great service Just one thing was too much onions Staff very friendly Will definitely return and recommend this place
Tasty food and great service!
Horrible service, too expensive for what you are actually getting.
Good foods and friendly staff.
Very good food
Best chinese food in chilliwack
You can eat Korean-style jjambbong, sweet and sour pork, and somaek.
quality food with good service! way to go
Good Food, nice portions.
Excellent food and incredible service! Went for lunch today with my wife and were tempted to go back for dinner tonight.
!! !! I had lunch combo and Jjambbong . I was yummy~ I love it!! I highly recommend this restaurant ~ It s more like chinese and korean restaurants. They have both chinese food and korean food.
Devoid of flavour and barely edible. The only good food item we ordered was the Chicken Chow Mein and that didnt taste any better than I could make at home. Worst sweet and sour pork I have ever had, very dry and nearly no sauce. Had we ate in restaurant, I would have refused to pay, it was THAT bad. Buying a sauce kit from a grocery store would have tasted better. My husband only got one wonton in his large soup Awful, will never order from there again. Lotties Luncheonette is so much better.
Good food. Good service. A little dark inside though. Fast service as well. Thank goodness no msg
Food is awesome
Just ordered lunch take-out combo with chicken chow mein and honey chicken. Both items were very very good. It only took them about 5 minutes to make it and the girl at the desk was very friendly. Would definitely order from there again!
Okay please
Was impressed with the food. Appears to have improved quite a bit with the new owners / kitchen staff.
I thought the food was horrible & expensive for what you got, we got take out, first they didn t have egg rolls, they did comp us some spring rolls in lieu of, to us everything tasted the same! Flavour less & bland! The beef n broccoli came with about 5 quarter size pieces of beef, the pork chowmein had about 3 pieces of pork! The honey garlic pork & sweet n sour chicken tasted the same and was mushy! We didn t even finish what was on our plates and threw the rest away! Waste of $65!
Food was horrible. Actually awful. I highly suggest ordering from somewhere else. Rock hard fried pork, with some weird seasoning sprinkled on top. Fried rice had no flavour. I m not very picky, but this was disgusting.
Not great, not terrible. Kinda pricey.
Just ate here last night. It was the only thing I had eaten except for a bagel in the morning and some crackers an yogurt an other light snacks. A couple hrs after I was needless to say very sick from 12 to 4am and then again all next day. 22 weeks pregnant also so this is scary for me. Was on IV all day. As I write this almost 24hrs later. Im still getting sick and in bed. Just to be safe we wont be eating here again. I wouldnt even give 1 star but had too to write this review. So just be cautious!
Food was hot and fresh, well prepared dishes but portion size was on the small side for the price. Definitely on par with the Capital. Some of the best Chinese food Ive eaten in Chilliwack.
Would not even give 1 star, but I had to. Got take out from here from Skip The Dishes, and the food was half all over the bag (not sure whos fault that was), the sweet and sour chicken tasted like a churro ?? and the chicken fried rice was musky and certainly not chicken. Expecting food poisoning shortly..
Half of the dishes that I wanted to order were not available. All of the 4 dishes I ended up ordering met my lowest expectations for basic Chinese food takeout. Bland and poor quality for the price. To top off my experience, there were no fortune cookies in the bag.
Bad...bad...bad... there isnt any thing else to say
poor quality bad price bland mushy food never again will I go heee
Very authentic Chinese food. Probably the best in town.
I heard this place was under new management, they even added some Korean dishes; I was excited to try it. Lets just say the particular food I ordered, and the experience itself was appalling. I am Korean myself. When I heard the owners talking in Korean, I thought it would be nice to interact in our native language. However, they completely brushed it off and spoke in English. Okay, I guess they just wanted to be professional. While I was waiting for my order, of white jjam bbong and ja jang myun, another customer came in for a take out order - she was offered complimentary fortune cookies and treated a lot more friendly than I was. Maybe because I looked young? Regardless, you shouldnt be in the food service if youre going to discriminate against your customers. The noodles themselves were obviously pre-packaged, and Ive had instant noodles that tasted better. The ja jang myun consisted of onions and 4 or five tiny beef pieces. Really? No wonder it was only $8. Not to mention, it came with ZERO sides, for example -- yellow daikon; it really compliments the dish and it comes in every restaurant that serves ja jang myun. The white jjam bbong had the same horrid noodles, and even better the seafood that came in the soup were not so stellar. Big clear veins in one shrimp. The mussel wasnt fresh at all. Basically, if youre inexperienced with what is fresh and what is not, you may think the noodles here taste good, but it really is not when youve experienced better. Utterly disappointing, and I will be waiting for new owners to take over. Hopefully, turn the place into something completely different.
We have been there more than 3times and the food never failed us, not even once. Fantastic presentation, yet very tasty. One of best contemporary Korean Chinese style cuisine. The BEST Korean /Chinese fusion style food I have ever had . This restaurant will become one of landmarks in Chilliwack BC.
Wasnt overly impressed. The chicken chow Main was dry. I dont usually put soy sauce on chow Main but this one I would have if it was Even on the table like at every other Chinese restaurant, but there was none in site. The chicken fried rice was also dry and bland .How ever we did very much enjoy the wonton soup and spring rolls tho. We dont plan on ever coming back as we didnt really enjoy the food, and it was over priced for the plate sizes compared to other Chinese restaurants.
It had been several months since the last time I had take out from this restaurant but it was a fav. As I was ordering the girl said we have a new menu I said thanks. I placed my order of the usuals. Chicken chow main, sweet n sour pork, fried rice and veg chop suey. The one thing I noted that scared me was that there was not a soul seated anywhere. Before the place on a Friday night was very busy. Not a soul seated anywhere. I got home and 2 hours later opened up the containers to feed me and 2 friends. THE MOST DISGUSTING CHINESE FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD. TO MANY DETAILS TO MENTION UNLESS YOU LIKE A POUND OF ONIONS IN EACH DISH. SWEET N SOUR CAT WAS INCLUDED WITH A SAUSE THAT TASTED ROTTEN. STAY AWAY FROM THERE. GROSS.
Very good food, tasteful. Great quality at a competitive price
Very tasty and good service since new management!!! I will definitely visit again.
So nice place and very good food, so lovely!
Its a interesting place where Western Chinese food has a little Korean twist. Sweet & Sour Pork is not those pink sauce but actually better quality homemade sauce used for Korean SS pork. Lettuce wrap filling is stir fried with black bean paste rather than hoisin sauce. Also, I like that their Chicken in fried rice is actually seasoned with special sauce. You might like it if you are up for something fusion. You might not like it if you are looking for good old Western Chinese food. However, you are going to get better quality food than regular Western Chinese food. Their service has a lot to improve though.
First time and probably last time ordering from Woodman. I ordered four very standard dishes: Sweet & sour pork, Ginger beef, Chicken fried rice, and Pork chow mein. Arrived to pick up and found out the total was $60 for the four items, which is more than I was expecting. Normally when I order the same items from other places, the total is closer to $45. Ok, so maybe this is going to be really outstanding Chinese takeout. Nope. The batter on the pork and beef is hard, so hard that some pieces are difficult to chew. The meat has too much of the batter and not enough sauce, so it seems under-flavored. The ginger beef does have a little bit of heat to it, which is about the only redeeming quality I could find. Most places make it way to sugary. The noodles and rice are ok, but nothing special. Definitely not worth the premium prices charged. I guess that Garrison being a bit of a yuppie haven has and expectation of higher prices, but if you are going to charge me that much I expect better quality as well. What I got was about the quality of mall food court Chinese food.
Excellent white jjam ppong so delicious! Friend had chicken noodle soup and we shared the creamy prawns. All very good!! Will be coming back!
great chinese food! very friendly staff and owners
This hidden place will surprise your taste!!! Excellent food quality and presentation!! Fire Garlic chicken and Sweet sour pork are differenciated from other Chinese places. Definitely worth to try if you are try new things type of person!!
It was a lovely place to have chinese food.I had Korean style chinese noodles such as Jajang, white Jjambong, Sweet and sour pork, Silky cream shrimp, Mogolian beef.It was good !! Good service too!!
Best in town..food is very tasty and good quality.
Got the Chicken Chop Suey. Full of perfectly cooked el dente veggies. Baby corn, mushrooms, onions, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, zucchini, red and yellow peppers, and chicken. Sauce was light and flavorful. $12.95 for what I would consider dinner for 1.
Kung pao??? Weird mystery meat, pre cooked food, weird combos. But our warmed up food only took 7 minutes to make..avoid this place
Horrible food was told it was really good by many people but beef and brocoli was very salty and over cooked ,chowmein was bland and had over cooked chicken pieces and the sweet and sour and honey garlic pork were bland and barely had any sauce and was really hard to chew will not be re visiting and portion size was very small for price
