Uptown Grill in Chilliwack

I took my mom here for lunch yesterday around 2 PM. It wasn t very busy, as the lunch rush was winding down, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Our server, a blonde woman who seemed Eastern European, was quite rude. She gave us unfriendly stares when we asked questions about the menu, never checked on us during the meal, and failed to bring the ketchup she promised when our food was served. We also had to track her down for a to-go box and the bill. The food was equally underwhelming. The clubhouse sandwich was dry, with paper-thin chicken that was completely overcooked. It felt like we were eating mostly bread with a sparse amount of filling. This was our second visit, and unfortunately, both times have been disappointing. We won t be returning.

We went there for lunch the other day and we had a great experience everything from the atmosphere to the service and of course my clubhouse was delicious yummy The whole area surrounding the Uptown Grill is nicely decorated for Christmas as well. Can t wait to go there again and try they re amazing breakfast and the prices are very reasonable

Very nice staff and good food.

Was looking for lunch as I was passing through town. Saw how busy this place was and thought, why not? Walked in, wasn t sure if it was sit-yourself or wait-to-be seated so I waited at the entrance. Waitress walked past a couple times- didn t even acknowledge my existence. So, I wandered over to the cash register where another waitress was and asked if I just sit myself, and she said yes. So, found a seat and got comfy. Now, it was busy and I know how hard waitressing can be. Waitresses are going back and forth, but no one acknowledges that I m there. I wait 10 minutes then the waitress I questioned comes around the corner and looks surprised to see me sitting there! She says, one minute, comes back later with a menu but doesn t ask for my drink order. She leaves, I peruse the menu, decide what I want, and then wait. She eventually comes back to take my drink order and I quickly let her know my food order as well (because who knows when she will be back!). My drink comes, then my food. I will say there was lots of food and it was hot and yummy. However, I m not sure it was what I ordered. I wanted to ask but the waitress never came back. I was starving so i ate my food. Never got a top up on my mug. Finished my food and waited some more. Left to use the bathroom but left my jacket so they would know I hadn t skipped out. Came back, dirty dishes still sitting there. I waited some more then started putting my jacket on because I figured I might wait there until dinner before I could pay my bill. Waitress finally shows up with the point-of-sale machine then leaves again. I wait some more, she doesn t come back. So, I took the point of sale machine back to the cashier and left. Never seen service like that! Now I know waitressing isn t easy but it s not that hard to smile, check in on how someone s food is as you pass by, ask if they need a refill as you pass by, etc. Maybe they were short staffed? I don t know. All I do know is if you want good food then you can find it here. Just be prepared to wait and maybe bring your own drink if you are thirsty as they mug they give you won t be enough.

Great food, generous portions and affordable prices along with a kind and friendly atmosphere.

Incredible food. We had a table of 8 which they found a way to sit very quickly even though they were quite busy. Our group had a variety of items (breakfast and lunch) and they nailed every dish. We cannot wait to come back. You cannot go wrong here. Highly suggest the waffles and Reuben. Those were some of my favorites.

Affordable and the staff are awesome. I had fried chicken eggs Benedict and I couldnt finish it. Needed a doggy bag.

This is hands down the best place in Chilliwack for breakfast. Great food, good portions, great prices, clean and has great staff.

Well priced, delicious comfort food! Had the breakfast skillet and they were able to pan fry my hashbrowns to meet my allergies. Service was quick and with a smile :) would definitely go again for breakfast and to try out their lunch menu!

Lovely cozy breakfast spot - everything was fresh and tasty. For picky eaters - the food was not touching each other. Plates were presented beautifully.

Food was so so tasty Service could improve by acknowledgement of guests as they arrive, and giving them some words around how long to expect to wait. Also, taking a cell number to text when theres a table would free up your long line of visitors to wander the beautiful 5 corners neighborhood. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access

When this place opened 15 some odd years ago a friend and I were daily regulars. It was our definite go to. I moved away for a decade and this is my first time back. New building, same great food, same familiar faces .very nice to see. The great food and service has held up against the test of time. Not many small diners get to accomplish this. For good reason it s our favourite breakfast spot in town by far! You gotta try it if you haven t.

First time being here with the hubby, and everything is amazing. From service, to the food - clean. I m sad I haven t been in sooner!! Hubby has raved about this place for so long, finally able to experience such an amazing breakfast - thank you!

Overall, I loved all the food because it was not only delicious but also generously portioned. The servers were kind and attentive, making the dining experience enjoyable. I highly recommend this place.

A real gem in Chilliwack. Right near the new community of 1881, we walked by and decided to check it out. We shared the combo basket and it was amazing and lots of food to be shared. Its a breakfast and sandwich place and totally worth it ! Eggs Benny had a thick piece of ham, which is rare and the omelette had big chunks of meat.

LOVE this place. The food is Definitely a 10/10 large portions and worth every penny. The staff was fabulous. Busy place and I can see why. I tried it yesterday with a friend and today I ll be taking my husband there for breakfast.

Was very happy with the burger and fries I ordered. I usually only eat a few fries, but I ate the entire basket! Would go back again, the selection on the menu was huge. Want to try a few different things they had.

My favorite brunch spot in dt Chilliwack. The entire menu is a hit so you really cant go wrong with what you order. The place is busy but the servers work quick to get you settled in and comfortable. It really feels like visiting home when you eat here. They also sell their homemade garlic salad dressing, its a must grab every time we visit.

Ate here last week and I was delightfully surprised by my Reuben sandwich with more fries than I could consume and even more so by the salad included with my meal! Will definitely go here again!

Foods are tasty.

I ordered two burgers to pick up but when we went to pick it up there was a mix up and there was only one burger I realize now it may have been my fault but not sure because my phone erased last #s called. The people were so nice to us and the cook even made us a fresh burger even though they were closed. My husband and I split the burger because the burger was huge and it was the best burger I have had in years. It tasted like a homemade burger not a microwaved burger u get at fast food places. We were full after half but we stuffed ourselves with the other half anyways lol. We only live a block from this place and we will be back many times . Thanks for being such nice understanding people I sometimes forget there are still nice people out there that go out of their way to make your day better

Staff was super friendly. The dining room was pretty nice, although the service area was unusually exposed. The food was fine, nothing spectacular.

I went on Sunday for breakfast always it is busy place food it is good but eggs was over cook and service a little bit slow maybe on training?Atmosphere so so.

The dark haired thicker set waitress is very rude and disrespectful. Despite the pleasant demeanor of the other staff and the excellent food, that one waitress is enough to make me not eat here. Neither the customers or other staff members deserve her toxicity and bad attitude.

Busy fair enough but lack of staff. We sat down 4-5 groups seated after us every one of them got their food before us. Ours finally arrived and it was not even hot We waited over an hour to get our food. They apologized by giving us a little fruit bowl Unimpressed

Uptown Grill is my go-to spot for seriously appetizing food - every dish feels like a culinary masterpiece! With a menu as diverse as their patrons, the vibes are always cozy, and the staff are like your favorite foodie friends, ensuring youre always well taken care of.

This has to be one of the best if not the best breakfast spots in Chilliwack. They have early bird special Monday through Friday from 7-10am excluding holidays.

I enjoy going in there most of the time but today I was full on ignored which was strange lol. I had my coffee but then after that I sat around for 20 minutes as the server even walked past my table for even a coffee refill. I honestly dont know if I did something? I was had phone call I was dealing with when I first got in but I even put my phone down to see if that was the issue. Nope! I just left money for coffee and walked out. Just super strange

Enjoyed a lovely Saturday morning breakfast with my husband. Our food was delivered hot and scrumptious. Service was a bit slow due to busyness, but nothing to be dismayed over. Followed the server s recommendation of pan fried potatoes and they did not disappoint! Free street parking everywhere as well

We had brunch there during the weekend. The place was full but no big wait time to seat down. The food was really good, I had eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was spectacular! Servers were extremely friends and professional. Really liked them all! The only issue was related to the lack of quick triage/initial service once you seat down, it took a while just to get someone to bring us the menus and ask if we wanted something to drink (like >10min after seating).

Sadly food ( chicken red) undercooked. Bacon had a strange flavour. Very basic., nothing special. Probably won t go back.

I would absolutely recommend this place. It was my first time at this location. As someone who loves Eggs Benny, I have a personal high standard for the dish, and this did not disappoint. After reading some other reviews about portion sizes - I don t agree. Although they may have become smaller than in the past, the current is a fair sized dish for the price, especially in a challenging time for restaurants during/post-pandemic with supply chain and labour costs on the rise. I mean look at the photo, that s a great size! We were pleasantly greeted and served by a kind woman and the service was quick and reliable. Eggs Benny was tasty, and salad dressing with the greens were great. The homefries were very homemade, in the sense that they seemed pan friend over deepfried. Personally I d prefer a touch more seasoning, but salt and pepper at the table sufficed. If you are a coffee lover - milk came warmed up alongside a hot cup of coffee. If you are in the area, be sure to stop by! Definitely enjoyed my experience and meal here.

Did you hear about the new restaurant on the moon? Great food, no atmosphere! This little gem on the other hand has both. Amazing food, great selection of diner style dishes, amazing service and the atmosphere was awesome! We popped in for lunch and there was everyone from business people on their lunch breaks to families with young kids. Nice little patio and inside seating. Will most definitely be coming back and we also told a bunch of family to make sure they try it as well!

I had the Reuben sandwich and my friend had half a California egg Benedict. Food was good and not greasy. I liked that they served a salad with the sandwich on top of either your choice of fries, onion rings or soup. It was busy when we entered and we seated ourselves as the wait staff were all busy. When they served our food, they didnt notice that we were not given any utensils. The staff were friendly though. The atmosphere was cozy with other customers that are really friendly too. Downside is that it is a little cramped with a tad too many tables in a small space. Not great for big groups.

Wanted to try out this restaurant but wasnt able to. When we went the restaurant was busy which is no problem but the hostess/server said they didnt have any tables. When we asked if we could put our name in and how long it would be we were told that they dont do that and that we can just stand outside and they would just look for us. I dont understand how you can be a restaurant and not have it figured out to take names?

Really good brunch comfort food with fair prices. The little salad that comes with it really hits the spot, everything is very tasty, it doesn t just look good (like most hype brunch places). Service was slow as they were clearly busy and had only one server, but she managed it all quite well. If I lived nearby I d come here often to try the entire menu!

Visited car show on Sunday. The neighborhood was very busy, a table for 6 inside was available quickly considering the restaurant was packed. Service was excellent, waters served immediately. Food arrived piping hot sooner than we expected and everything was delicious, and good portion size too.

I had the chicken caesar and it was terrible. The chicken was chewy, lettuce was limp, and the Caesar dressing was very light. Based on my experience, I wont return.

A Chilliwack Gem! They recently had a management change and have not missed a beat! I enjoy the new fresh side salad that comes with a lot of the meals now, and the in house made dressing is fabulous! The wait staff are amazing and treat everyone so well.

Although the food is good, the service has tremendously gone down hill. Waited over ten minutes to get a menu, advised the waitress that I was in a rush and she said theyre busy too. Im not sure if theyre under new management or not but last time we came in service was the same. If you have time to sit and wait great then come here if you have only an hour. Do not waste your time.

The food is great. Unfortunately, when the place is busy, you cant hear the person across the table from you. They need to cover some of the hard wall surfaces with something to deaden the noise.

Food sucks. Very inconsistent Eggs never the same potatoes not Cut small enough. Toast cooked one side and not the other. Grilled cheese sandwich is two pieces of bread toasted with a piece of Cheese not melted. Fries are sometimes under cooked. I have seen avocados bruised and discusting .Have been going to uptown for 20 years and since the new owners have took over the quality of food sucks they do not seam to care what comes out of the kitchen. And are very slow at making it Service is pretty good.l Liz and cayenne are very good at there job The only thing I have there is coffee not a happy customer. Parking: Needs more handicap spaces.

Best brunch place in town!

Homestyle restaurant located in the step back in time District 1881. The food was excellent and the portions very generous. We were there for breakfast and my husband had asked for soft eggs. They came hard. I mentioned it to our server. Next thing they brought out a fresh plate of eggs, the cook came and apologized and we were given a bowl of fruit to compensate. This is way above and beyond excellent. We did not ask for new eggs! The place was clean, bright and friendly. Special prices before 10am Highly recommend

When we first got in it was very busy! I will say they have very Friendly staff . We waited a while for our drinks as they forgot which was fine , but when my sister and and I got our food it was made with thigh /dark meat instead of breast meat . I saw this in another review - typically when you order a chicken wrap or sand which you expect chicken breast. Neither of us liked it and we didn t eat it , the waitress did only charge us for half but I felt we should ve not been charged at all since we didn t eat it and waited quite a while . Just beware if you like ordering grilled chicken items on a menu - it is not chicken breast they use !

Everything was really good

Greeted by friendly and efficient staff, ordered a mushroom burger and my wife had a clubhouse sandwich. Both were scrumptious, fresh, and filling. No scrimping on the fixings. Highly recommend: eat here!

Uptown Grill is good, pricing was reasonable but the food was nothing to rave about. Ordinary flavours and ordinary service. I honestly expected more because of the location but it was okay!

The food wasnt amazing but it wasnt terrible... , it was a bit pricey and service was slow, but we did hit them just before a busy time. We got our drinks right away, but it then got busy and its like we were forgotten. 3 other tables had been seated after us and they had their orders taken and were served before us.

Loved it! Eggs Benny was so good, service was friendly and prompt and a cool little set up in a great location in the new district. Will be back for sure!

Been going here for years. Staff are always kind and efficient. Its a standard family type restaurant/menu, so its a wonderful place to go whether you just want a good plate of fries, or a full homestyle meal with good portions and excellent prices. Tip your servers, yall! They are wonderful.

Went here with family to try out some breakfast and service was beyond slow, my family waited an hour after we ordered before we gave up and left. I understand it gets busy but when you serve other tables that came after us and tell people coming that it s only a 15 min wait, when you haven t served/cleared any tables??? How???? The table next to us was finished eating their big group meal by the time we decided to leave & trust me they took their time. When we left they felt sorry for us and said there s new owners I guess, still disappointed & never going back!

Came here around lunch time. Place was super busy. It s a seat urself type of restaurant. The service was good and friendly. Took about 25 minutes for food to come out so not bad being as busy as it was. The food was average or below in my opinion. The quesadilla lacked flavour and felt undercooked. I couldn t get myself to finish it as it was quite basic. As for the onion rings as well no salt no flavour. If your looking for a homely taste then maybe a great place but if you are wanting more for your buck I would pass as the level of taste is not restaurant quality to me at least. Had asked for a water they forgot about it and was half way thru the meal when it finally came but the 2 servers we re doing the best they could with a full restaurant which is why I gave 3 stars. Chicken strips for the kid were again mediocre and had to force him to eat as he didn t like the taste. I don t think I will return sadly as this was so close would have been nice for breakfast if the food wasn t so plain.

Had a family emergency son was in workplace accident and no room at hospital, so staying in hotel but no food access. Found this awesome Cafe and was able to eat and take food and drink for my son for three days. Great service awesome meals.

Had a lovely breakfast here yesterday after being kept away from Chilliwack for two years by covid. The food and service were both great. The place had been spruced up along with the rest of the down town. The walls were covered with Gary Hagquists art, a renown local artist.
