I usually come here a few times a month and it has been good. Fresh fish , fresh rice, however, today everything tasted different and rice was stale , fish didn’t taste fresh. When I told them about my problems with the food they told me no one else had an any issues and that everything was fresh and said I was “mistaken” . The manager was rude and stormed away but more importantly she questioned the validity of my complaint. Then she tried to make me PAY for the food I sent back because I had “eaten” a couple bites. In closing, I was super disappointed in the customer service and the food.
They have great options and sushi tasted good and ingredients used seemed high quality. The ambience of the food can take down the overall experience but good food beats it. Definitely a go to sushi spot
Hands down best sushi place in town! For what you get, it's more than worth the price. I've tried most of the sushi dishes, and I can't recommend just one thing. I usually get the spicy chicken teriyaki. It's probably the best teriyaki I've ever had. The staff are always amazing too, always so nice to me and my girlfriend. Couldn't recommend this place enough
I enjoyed the food thoroughly! The portions of the dinner boxes was nice and big. The food quality was delicious and the waiter and environment were very nice!! Will definitely be coming back!
Had the absolutely best Japanese lunch I've ever had at Yale Sushi, been there (and MANY other sushi restaurants) many times before, but today was perfection: all my favorites were 10/10: crab sunumono, gomae, prawns tempura, chopped scallop roll with extra mayo & sesame seeds, nigiri toro tuna, unagi, tamago (1" egg slice was thicker than the rice!!), even the green tea came steeped & ready to drink! WOW. Was there just before noon, all food was ready & on the table as it came up in less than 10 minutes! Had to compliment the chef & super friendly & attentive staff. AMAZING & DELICIOUS!!! 😎👍👍👍👍👍Note: never take out, must be truly enjoyed in-house & FRESH!!!
This Japanese restaurant truly impressed me with its takeout quality. Despite being takeout, the food remained fresh and flavorful. The salmon sushi, in particular, was exquisite—delicate and delicious, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. However, the sauce was a bit too much, slightly overshadowing the natural sweetness of the salmon. Nevertheless, the portions were generous and very satisfying. The packaging was also thoughtfully done, ensuring that the food arrived intact and as delicious as intended. Overall, this was an excellent takeout experience, and I will definitely be returning and recommending it to friends.
One of the best Sushi places in town. Great prices and very fresh tasting seafood. The Tenpura was crispy and delicious. The Dynamite Roll was huge and tasty! The BBQ Eel roll is equally as yummy and I tried my wife's Alaskan Roll and had to have more. We took it to go and this is how we got it. It was perfect. Thank you chefs for the great dinner Update. I haven't had Yale Sushi in a long time and once again it was amazing! Loved it all!
We’re looking for restaurant to treat our clinical instructor for our last day but because most of them opens late afternoon we decided to take our lunch here and we’re not disappointed. The place is cozy and the inside is clean. The food’s not too expensive and the serving’s big and well presented. I don’t live in Chilliwack but if you had the chance to and are looking for a sushi or roll to eat, you must try this one. Food’s tasty but not too much to the point that you can’t have it anymore.

Hands down the best sushi restaurant around. Fresh, plentiful portions in a warm environment our favourites are Spicy Sashimi Salad, Hot Chirashi, Yakisoba and Yummy Don Buri(s) .
Dietary restrictions: Yale Sushi has gf soy sauce and has never triggered my gluten allergies over the last 10 years. Just ask for no wasabi! Food
Couldnt get it because landed in the hospital then they said they wouldn t refund but gave me sushi again and Our sushi tasted like rotting fish and beef was sour gone bad smell and they didn t care said after they were going to give us a new order it was our problem when we used to buy from them it could last two days and they couldn t give a new order or even refund so stole my money and gave us food poisoning
The sushi was fresh and the miso soup was delicious, but the udon soup was a bit bland, which was disappointing, and the portion size was small. The fries are crispy and seem to have been fried in fresh oil, so they are good. I felt good because the people working were friendly. I recommend it

I came here from work wearing dirty work clothes, I literally just had oil stains and the staff treated me like I had no money and were not kind.
I always do pick up from them and the service is Marvellous, the food is always good.

Horrible food, horrible service. Worst sushi restaurant in Chilliwack! One of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Service was awful - we were ignored for 15 minutes. When the waitress finally came she took our drink order and lunch order at the same time. Another 15 minutes went by before she came back with both our food and drinks. No apology, or acknowledgement. The sushi was mushy, not well put together. The teriyaki chicken was dry, hard as a rock, and barely had any sauce. The vegetables underneath the chicken were actually cold! The miso soup was lukewarm. I could go on. It was actually comical. Their prices are quite high, especially since most of the food was terrible. Absolutely waste of money. Will never return.

I ordered a salmon teriyaki to go. Was undercooked in terms of all its vegetables and mostly sprouts. Salmon was cooked semi decent , and the experience left me unimpressed as I usually eat here and its much better Food

Super friendly. Food was very good... my hubby says the best Teriyaki hes had at a sushi place. We had small children with us and the cups had lids & straws so no spills! Very smart! Cant wait to go again.

Yale Sushi has redeemed itself. Im my eyes. Very friendly service, and the food presentation was incredible. The food we ordered came out incredibly fast and fresh... spicy tuna was the perfect texture and chilling cold as raw sushi should. Food portions were very generous for the price... keeping in mind we ate inside the restaurant and I do not think take out portions are as such... soo its worth the sit-down experience. The downside for us was that the ambiance was incredibly quiet... almost too quiet to the point where it was difficult to talk as everyone could hear what our conversation. Even as the people across from us were whispering, we could hear their conversation as well, and believe me, we did not want to eaves drop on that convo. Probably recommend owners to play some background music or something to fill the space. Also, I didnt really like the fact that the bill was presented with the server waiting awkwardly with the debit machine at the table while I was still stuffing my face with the delicious Yakiudon... kinda which he would have come back once I had at least finished my food... Overall, though, it was a delicious meal and experience and would go back again. Vegetarian options: Lots of options for the friends of salad. Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp up to the curb by the handicap parking stall.
Much better prices then some of the other places around downtown Chilliwack. Overall food was good but I thought the teriyaki needed more sauce as it was fairly dry and the sunomono tasted a bit bitter (likely from too much lemon). Everything else was good though! This was takeout, so next time Id ask for sauce on the side and hopefully can put more on. Kid-friendliness: They have kid meals available.

I couldnt believe how much food I got for what I ordered. Ive been a steady sushi eater for over a decade and have been to many sushi eateries. This restaurant gives you great value for your dollar, and the food is absolutely delicious. One thing I didnt like was that the server kept making it known that they were closing soon, and I had shown up 45 minutes prior to closing and I just wanted to eat quickly and be on my way. I would understand if I had shown up 15 minutes before closing that they didnt want to wait for me to finish eating, but it was 45 minutes! Thats plenty of time to dine in. Put a sign on the door instead of trying to push people out. Other than that, I had a great experience.

Good size lunch box. Waitress wasnt listening when I asked to pay in a bit. A half minute later she was there asking how Id like to pay. Talk about feeling rushed.
It was so good that we didnt have a chance to snap a picture before gobbling it all down I highly recommend grabbing one of the specialty rolls, not only are they equally delicious, but they are also massive!

This used to be my go-to sushi place in Chilliwack but I feel like they never recovered post-pandemic and are now taking short cuts to save a penny. In a recent order, my teriyaki bowl was watery from how much they had diluted the teriyaki sauce.

There were four of us with different tastes and requests: I preferred the VEGAN TEMPURÁ, but my wife loved the SALMON TERIYAKI. My daughter and son-in-law preferred CHICKEN TERIYAKI. Everyone liked it! Vegetarian options: I tried the VEGGIE TEMPURA: Very good!
I dont recommend! Found bones in the sushi, teriyaki beef was dry and had very little sauce, rolls were not cut through properly. This was very disappointing for my guests and I. I paid $100 for this sushi .

I order from here frequently and have never had a problem. The last time I ordered, there was a worm sticking out of my sockeye sashimi. When I called to let them know, they told me I was wrong and refused to hear anything I said. If you order from here and get the sockeye sashimi, make sure to inspect it really good! Will not be ordering from here in the future

Definitely a great place to grab sushi, they use fresh ingredients and are very consistent with their presentation and flavours. I have been here a handful of times over the past year and its been a great experience every time! Even though they very busy at times, the level of service is always spot on. My favourites are the Oh Seans roll and Grasshopper Roll. Highly recommend this restaurant to all the sushi lovers!

Went here for dinner and ordered the dinner menu. The price for dinner combo is on par with other places. The portions here were great. The roll was tasty. The salad and tempura were crisp. I wished the teriyaki had some rice to absorb the sauce but still tasty. I had a single piece of Takoyaki as the special item. It was tasty as well. Service was pretty good. The restaurant looked clean. Overall, good bang for your buck.

My fav so far in Chilliwack by far. I dont give out 5 star unless its the whole package. Place is not fancy but oh my the food is delcious. Tuna Tataki was mouth watering. Definitely recommend.

The food is awesome and always made incredibly fast for how busy the store gets and is often made In 10 minutes no longer then 15 minutes, I get sushi rolls I ll usually order 4-5 of them. and the staff/chef s are all friendly with great service skills. I ve been going here for 7 years now and always have a great experience.

SO GOOD! I have been to a lot of sushi places and this ranks in the top, just as good as places in Vancouver. The staff were run off their feet tonight, since nobody wants to cook at home during the heat wave....I was impressed. Arigato!

My favourite restaurant in the wack. They dont skimp out on portions and the quality is always top notch. Their sashimi is comparable to sushi joints in the lower mainland. Lunch and dinner boxes have ton of value, but my fave has got to be the hot chirashi don. Their service is unparalleled and is not compromised just because they are busy.
My husband and I are regulars at Yale Sushi and the service here is fantastic every time. The sushi here is fusion style but we come mainly for their korean hwedupbap. Portions here are generous and pricing is reasonable. This restaurant is very child friendly as well.

I can t believe I haven t reviewed this yet... I used to live in the area and would crave Yale so bad! Then I moved 3 hours away... I still will do the drive once in awhile, because there is nothing like it!! Most sushi places either have good tuna sashimi or good salmon sashimi. This place has nice, thick, melt on your tongue tuna AND salmon! Also the haru maki is addictive. I actually have to stop now because my mouth is watering...
Why would people pay these prices? Im from Vancouver - is there a logistics fee for shipping the fish here? What a rip-off

This is my #1 Sushi place....staff is friendly, service is good, hardly any wait for food and it s always fresh. Great selection, great atmosphere. Prices are a just tad higher than some places, but in my mind I ll pay the extra buck for all the positives about this restaurant!
After visiting this place a few times, gotta say its a hit and miss on taste.. soup and noodle dishes can be really salty at times.. service is okay, just hope the older lady isnt the 1 serving you. The sushi wraps tastes all right, nothing special. But sadly they have poor skills in making those rolls stick. They always fall apart. $$$ are fair but not for the food quality.

Everything was delicious! We tried the spider roll, Georges roll, rocky mountain roll, pork gyoza, edamame and spicy agedashi.. all were perfect. I am also picky about my green tea and it was awesome too! Check it out!

This sushi restaurant is my top favorite in chilliwack the party trays are a great deal and all the fish is always nice and thawed properly. Never have I had a piece of frozen fish after coming here 4+ years this is my favorite.
