At 123 Chinese you will receive the worst possible treatment as a paying customer. No interpersonal communication skills are to be found here, just absolute misery and disdain for the customer.

Favorite place for Chinese food

Management is very unfriendly and unwilling to give good service. They don t like to have people come and walk in and place an order. After screwing up our order they re unwilling to properly correct it.

Poor customer service, won t let you customize (ie chicken fried rice with no onions) To busy to give me the total, told us if I want the total to call back in 10 minutes. Spoke with the manager so called just as ignorant as the employee on the phone. Recommend anyplace than this. Try five star Chinese or rock and roll

I felt the need to write a review after reading so many negative reviews. Our food was delicious. Very reasonably priced for Generous portions. The service was extremely friendly and the food was ready for us when we arrived for pick up. We had the chicken fried rice, Hakka chicken noodle dish (delicious) beef in black pepper sauce and chicken balls. So far our favourite Chinese food in the area. Very happy we tried this restaurant after feeling discouraged with some other Chinese food experiences. This will be our go to spot.

I m confused with all the bad reviews over the past year . The lady who took our order was super pleasant. The food was ready just before their estimated time and it was pretty tasty. Further, we got a lot of food - great value. I m suspicious some of these one star reviews are bogus - many have limited profiles.

I ordered two items, chicken fried rice and sesame chicken . I got the rice. No sesame chicken . I have no idea what the second item was , spicy as hell though , not even sure if it was chicken .

Zoinks...read the reviews and I thought, how bad can it be? I am a truck driver and was a bit desperate as I googled looking for some late night chinese. Well think I hit a new low with this place. As per the reviews, I got greeted rudely, because I had not called ahead, was asked to leave and come back in 10 minutes. Though I am grateful the combination platter was only $10.75, it was pretty bad food. Probably the worst chinese food I have ever eaten. Best to try elsewhere.

Worst Chinese takeout i ever ate at, very rude owner no hello no thank you or you are welcome. The vegetable dishes where horrible only celery and onions, no other vegetables, chicken balls where very greasy. the house rice had 2 shrimp in it and very little meat. the chicken almond guy ding came with a bag with 10 dried up almonds in it so cheap i would recommend that you order a pizza instead of ordering from here. i would rate them at less than a 1/4 star.

Great Chinese food.

Placed an order for delivery as that s what is shown available but was told that they don t have delivery. When I phoned back just to let them know in order to change it then hung up on me.

From the get go, ordering food seemed like an inconvenience to the woman who answered the phone. Picking up the order was anouther test in patience when I asked for one sweet and sour plum sauce packet, and one hot mustard packet. Under duress the woman (who I assume was the same person who answered the phone) proceeded to the back, but not before DIRECTING me to order the sauces ahead of time as they are extra money. I wanted to make sure that I was understanding her directions correctly, so I asked those little packets of sauce are an additional charge?, she said yes. I dared not ask how much she would have charged for the condiments because she seemed irritated by my presence as she tossed the condiments onto the bar. As far as the food goes, the beef and broccoli was lacking beef, but not broccoli! I received less than a quarter of meat, and over three quarters of vegetables, all bathed in a bland, over watered sauce. Apparently the shrimp fried rice had a cardboard flavour to it, and it lacked the quantity of shrimp expected for the price, remarked my guests who ate it. I will say that my steamed white rice was fluffy and white, and the egg roll seemed to had been cooked better than previously experienced. I would be lying if I was to say that this experience was a one off, however it was not. I wanted to give 1 2 3 Chinese a second chance because I was disappointed the first time I experienced their hospitality, and food quality. I feel I have qualified my position and will be practicing Social Distancing from 1 2 3 Chinese.

Not pleased with my service for the first time there. I will change my rating if I get better service next time.

Thier food is great

This is a couple of klms east outside of town on the main drag. All their food is great but one dish in particular you have to check it out. Its called General Chicken, thats all lm going to say but its worth going there just for that dish. It doesnt cost a lot and you get a lot. Im getting hungry just thinking about it. If you can, get your vaccine or Booster and lets beat this thing!!

Extremely miserable lady taking my walk in order, very rude. Said ok go away come back in 15. When I went back in she said are you picking up take out??? I said I just ordered. She said yes its ready, you go now. I asked for extra soy sauce, looked like it was her personal stash from the look. And the food....worse Ive ever had. Just brutal that the best Chinese food in Cobourg is now the worse since these new owners took over. Five Star Pt Hope is the beat in this area, worth the 10 min drive

Rudest and most obnoxious reception Ive ever had walking into a takeout. Disgusting, actually.

I walked in to pick up my food and as I was waiting I noticed no one had on gloves. They were touching raw meat and vegetables and never washed their hands or donned gloves. left immediately and after reading reviews about food poisoning I am confident I made the correct choice.

Food has downgraded in quality since the ownership change, however the most surprising thing is that the new owner/manager is completed void of any customer service and relation skills. PLEASE REMEMBER: You are not doing the customer a favour by serving them! - They are doing you a favour by giving you the opportunity to do so!

I would have given a zero if I could. I ordered a veg fried rice as my wife is a pure vegetarian. When I brought it home, we were surprised to find egg in it. I immediately called up the restaurant and the reply was something I never heard of or expected. They put egg in all the items irrespective of the order, that is what the lady on the other side said unapologetically. I dont think they understand the meaning of vegetarian.

Rudest owner ever, apparently doesnt know the words thank you or your welcome , or even sorry after giving me somebody s else s order at 95$ after returning the wring food I asked her for an apology or a Thankyou, turned her back on me and refused. Miserable person, young Chinese girl says shes the owner.

We got food there today Ive never had so greasy food in my life the chow mein we could not eat we had beef lo mein 6 cuts in it .mixed vegetables szechuan chicken the egg rolls was burnt we will not be going back and thay missed the order up 26/05/2021

I would give it a zero if I could, very rude absolutely no acknowledgement when you go in, just what s your number, not even a thank you. The food was hot but very very greasy, the ginger beef was I m not sure what to call it. Don t recommend it at all

New owners have taken over. The lady was miserable! Not willing to accommodate any requests!! The food was ok but the service was not.

Waited 10 minutes for service didnt even acknowledge that I was there left and went to red rice were I was greeted and served within 10seconds if you want really good food I highly recommend wok and roll super friendly service and really good food

The worst service in Cobourg. New owners that have ruined the 123 experience. Delivery person needs to be trained in Covid 19 procedures. Shrimp were 90% batter. The spare ribs were fall of the bone I think from being so old. 50% of the $200.00 order went into the garbage.

Tried a large order tonight for my family of 7. Would not do contactless delivery. Delivery person complained about a $7 tip. Food was absolutely terrible. When we inquired about one of the dishes the answer was; If you dont like it dont order again. We wont and neither should you. If there is no other option, order pizza........... If you look closely all 5 star reviews are from local Guides paid reviews.

I phoned for take out and then i asked about their safety procedures. The woman said same as before. I asked about them wearing masks. She said no. Do you limit the number of people. Answer was no. I said oh and hesitated she then told me If you dont like it, stay home I was shocked. I know they are probably.getting cimments about their procedures or lack of them but there is no need to be rude.

Ordered 2 dinner for 3. Told them wanted to drop one off for our neighbour. Show up they have 3 bags , everything combined together. Told them I specified 2 separate orders so I could drop off and keep social distance. Come back again 10 minutes later with 2 bags and find out things missing. They could not get one simple instruction correct !!

I am so sorry, I have been a customer of 123 for years, their food has been amazing but now they will for some uncertain reason not deliver to us....as they have in the past.... sorry you lost a $70 order plus a decent tip for your driver, and we have ordered from them at least once a month! Last night was the first time we ordered 123 Pick Up Dinner Special...Six different food items for $33+tax. We were not sure what to expect but we were VERY HAPPY with the food. Everything was DELICIOUS!!! We had enough food left over for another meal! I immediately wanted to give a great review if anyone had hesitations!!! ****Sometimes the special is not available ***** UPDATED REVIEW: There must be new owners because the past 2 orders, our family was not happy with the food. .

First, the person taking the order was rude af, food was quick but wasn t near up to par. The Wontons were almost black they were so over cooked. When we got back with the food there were a few things missing from the order, when called to remedy the situation they got rude. At this point I m done with 123 and considering the service we received I imagine 123 is done with us too. Hopefully competition pops up and they re taught a lesson in food service standards.

Food is great, however the new ownership does not allow substitutions on combo plates, even for an additional cost. Until that is fixed, I will not be ordering.

Weve had food from here a handful of times over the years. Always hot and fresh and great value. Usually go with Dinner for 2 (B), a lot of food for under 30$. Sometimes add another dinner like General Chicken, Lo Mein or Beef and Broccoli etc. Dont understand all the bad reviews. Maybe we are just ordering the right thing each time, but this is our go to place for Chinese food in Cobourg. Highly recommended!

Food was hot and fresh but was disgusting. That was the worst sesame chicken I have ever ordered from anywhere and it had a black hair in it , and the wontons were not good at all. My hubby called to order and said the person was very rude. Will not be coming back here again.

Honestly the Seasame chicken is usually breaded and fried like the General Tso and it wasnt. It was cold. The low mein had like 1 veg in it. Not impressed.

Awesome food right on every time

The food was cooked on time and the service was great. But, the food is terrible. The general Tao is all bread no chicken. The rice shrimp had only 5 overcooked and refrozen shrimps and the rice had nothing but soy sauce. The beef and broccoli is equally bad, sauce tastes cheap and the beef feels like jello. The chicken lo mein had maybe 5 pieces of tasteless chicken and the noodles were just as bad. Not to mention the portions must be the smallest I ve seen from a Chinese take out. In the past we ve order from Red Rice and wanted to try a new place. Big mistake. Waste of 50 dollars.

I don t know what s going on at 123 but the food the last couple times has been sub par the peas in the fried rice were dry I would say they were dried peas and they tried to rehydrate them but failed big time. The sweet and sour Spare ribs were way over done and chewy. The sauce (red) was horrible it was orange and flavour less. And the young girl at the front get off your phone and take the customers order, suggest things, up sell to the customer. Your actions and the downward slide of food quality has really turned us off of 123 We will be using wok and role from now on. Thanks for the previous may years of great food but we re moving on.

I grew up in and around Cobourg and this has to be the best Chinese you can get. once you have a 1, 2, 3 egg roll youll never go back, my other favourites are the lo mein, sechuan beef, Shanghai noodles, and their fried rice. very good service as well

Ive ordered chicken chow mein multiple times and only received chicken with bean sprouts. To my knowledge that dish is known as chicken chop suey. everything else was good but lacked noodles . What would I have got if I ordered chicken chow mein and chicken chop suey ??? 2 of the same dish ?

My family and I ordered from here and the lady we called said our food would be delivered in about 45 minutes. We waited for approximately an hour and a half and our food still had not been delivered. We called and they did not know where the delivery guy was. I am disappointed. Valentines day is now pizza night :) worst service ever.
