Great food

Been wanting to try but every time we go their closed or the light are on but all the door are locked. Every time there s an open sign that says open till 8pm.

Great price ! Everything else was very good

Breakfast was great, caught them as they were opening. Nice people, quick service and good food.

Its a very cozy and quiet place, with very fast and friendly service! Thank you for the fantastic butter chicken!

Incredible experience! Regularly come here because of the good prices and quality food. $6 for a burger/chicken burger, $10 for a philley cheese or a chicken quesadilla. I just got the butter chicken for $10 and it was great. One og only spot worth going to in Cobourg

Service was terrible. We waited an hour for our food and it was cold and a mediocre breakfast at best. The price was very expensive for a simple breakfast. There was only one person working and was unable to deal with the volume of people in the restaurant. At one point we had to go and get our own coffee. The chairs were broken and there were cob webs around our table. Overall a terrible experience.

Food was fine, not amazing, and the service was good but the place was ridiculously expensive. Probably why it was virtually empty. With tip, it was over $100 for 3 adults and a 5 year old, and I shared my breakfast with her. We will not return. $3.75 for diner coffee, and $2.00 for sprinkles on a pancake are excessive.

We went for lunch today Octiber 12. There was 1 other customer who had a dog. Not a service dog. A service dog doesnt yap, whine and bark when the customer went outside, leaving the dog in its stroller at her table. Food was bland. The burger was a frozen patty thatni have previously bought at Giant Tiger. Ordered poutine, was brought fries. We reminded the server we ordered poutine, she took the fries back added gravy and a little cheese. This place is filthy. I NEEDED tonuse the washroom,nit was disgusting. Dirt caked on the floor and a horrible stench, amd unplugged toilets. While in the washroom I could hear children carrying on and yelling in the kitchen. Whybare there small children running around and in the kitchen? On my way back to the table, I noticed garbage and food debris under a table. There was no other customers this should have been cleaned up. Had I noticed the dirt, garbage and dog thay shook itself at the table before I sat down, I would have walked right out Gross and dirty

One of the best restaurants I have visited recently. Excellent food, quick service, clean restaurant and above everything super service. Totally impressed. Must must must go. We ordered Rose pasta, veggie wrap & poutine. If you are a vegetarian their veggie wrap is a must to eat. Rose pasta was not dry like other restaurants it was saucy and full of flavours. Loved the food. Thank you. We will visit this restaurant again for sure.

The food was very delicious and not trying to be anything trendy. Just good, wholesome flavours. My sister enjoyed the banquet burger, and the chicken cesar wrap I ate was devine. Fresh cut fries? Take my money! If youre in Coburg, please stop by! The lady who served us was nothing but accommodating!

Though we may have not been to the restaurant itself, we had the pleasure of running into the owners of this wonderful joint while we were in Niagara and I must say to see how friendly and family oriented they are, is truly a testament of how they run their business. Can t wait to make a drive down to Coburg in order to try their Delicious meals in person ! It was wonderful to meet you all!

The chalkboard outside is very misleading with their prices. For example, a hamburger and fries is $9.99 for takeaway yet to dine in its $17. The prices were high for what you received. The fries and home fries were drenched with grease, the sandwiches were small and we paid almost $4 for a cup of coffee. This is the first and last time that I will be coming to Grandmas Kitchen.

I had a traditional 3 egg breakfast & home fries. Everything was delicious, the servers were very quick and polite. The atmosphere is nice and calm, great music playing and not rushed or cramped. Food

Excellent homemade butter chicken sauce and naan bread.

Went in for lunch with two of us. They were extremely welcoming and warm and upon asking even gave us their reduced take out prices for dining in (we are young so I think they had a little pity for us). Got the penne with rosé sauce and it was excellent. My friend got the Caesar wrap and told me it was good too. Would recommend!

Just tried to come here for breakfast at 9:15am on a Saturday and unfortunately the restaurant appears to be closed. Google says they should be open at 9am and I didn t see any signs saying they were closed for the long weekend. Hopefully it s not permanently closed because I would love to try this place next time I m in town.

Ordered the Butter Chicken and everyone at the table tried it and thought it was amazing! The whole table had zero complaints and everyone loved their food.

A group of my friends and I (we were a group of 10) stayed in Cobourg, ON for the 2023 New Year long weekend. After sleeping in rather late on New Year s day, we were very pleased to find a breakfast restaurant still opened. While we ordered takeout (by the time we got there it was close to closing and we didn t want to trouble them too much), the restaurant staff graciously welcomed us in and accepted our order. Their service was lovely and they were very pleasant and kind and patient with us. The food was also very good and hit the spot: it was just what we were looking for! Next time we re in Cobourg we will definitely make a point of visiting Grandma s Kitchen again! Thank you Grandma s Kitchen!

First visit for lunch with my son here. Food is quite good and well prepared. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Prices were about the same as other restaurants in the area.

Had an amazing lunch here!! I had the pancakes which were amazing! My friend had the clubhouse sandwich with fries, and my other friend had a classic egg breakfast!! All meals were big portions, we definitely took some home for leftovers!! Service was quick and friendly!! This restaurant is definitley becoming a go to stop for me, when Im in Cobourg!!

Went there for lunch today. This wasn t a destination that was in mind, just walked passed the place and it looked fairly inviting. Glad I did go in. Food was fantastic, prices very reasonable and staff (although very busy) were attentive. Breakfast looked good, lots of options but the Chicken Club and BLT were spot on!

We went for breakfast this morning and experienced a mounting series of disappointments that led to this poor rating: 1) Overpriced for standard breakfast (2 grandmas breakfast, 2 coffees, 1 oj came to $52) 2) long waits for things we had to remind them to bring: husbands coffee, had to get our own ketchup, salt, pepper after being asked if we needed anything else (the restaurant was completely empty) 3) $3.50 for a tiny mug of coffee, no refills 4) ordered gluten-free toast because I have celiac, they charge $2 more for it - it was moldy. The only remedy they offered was to remove the upcharge. I feel that if you serve someone rotten or spoiled food, they should not be charged for their meal. 5) clogged sink (only sink) in mens washroom 6) long wait for bill (still no other patrons in the restaurant) First and last time well go here.

We waited an hour for our food, only to realize they never actually even put in the order. We left without eating. I have never experienced anything so terrible. Service is atrocious and inefficient. Stay far away from this place.

Similar to other recent reviews: ABYSMAL and abysmally slow service. One of our 3 orders was wrong and our server said the kitchen would be fixing it promptly. 30+ minutes later no fix had arrived. Server AWOL. Finally just asked for the bill; we were fully charged for the item that had been delivered incomplete and incorrectly. First and last time we will frequent this restaurant.

Wow. Josephine was an excellent server, but I did not receive what she ( and I) ordered? They substituted my 3 wholewheat pancakes / whipped cream with the 2 healthy pancake meal. When I questioned the change, another server( pregnant) explained there were no whole wheat, so they upgraded my order to include eggs, homefries. I asked for just the pancakes, so she took my plate, and brought it back and put it in front of me from behind, without speaking. Josephine was not involved in this. We are not impressed.

Grandma s Kitchen is located on the street of Cobourg City nearby to Victoria Hall. We had Josephine serving us and she was funny and polite. She did mix up an order but her service was decent. We tried the poutine, couple of burgers and sandwiches. The chicken club was disappointing but the rest of it were good. I loved the cheeseburger and poutine. The place has an old age charm to it.

Ridiculous amount of time to be served. People walked out because the waitresses did not acknowledge they where there sitting at a table. Our waitress told us nobody knew who was serving our particular table. A table of 10 that came in after us got served their drinks before us. And we had to get up to remind our server for our drinks (she did discount the drinks because of the wait). The waiting did not end there. When we asked for refills on the warm coffee when the food came, the refill showed up while we where finishing the meal. The mens washroom is deoterized so heavily it is difficult to breath. And the one sink is plugged up...this is over month now, after reading review from a month ago stating the same plugged sink. We will not go back.

Not impressed with the food. Location is great. They have a street-side patio. Service was Ok but slow. The main issue was the quality of the food was very poor. My son and I ordered a vegetarian burger with side of home fries and a grilled cheese with side of onion rings. The burger patty was tasteless and the texture was mushy like a pâté. The home fries were over-cooked and rock-hard. The grilled cheese tasted ok but was very greasy. The onion rings were the frozen type and there were only 7 on the plate. Prices were high for the quality. Don t get fooled by the decent take out prices advertised on the board outside for sit-down, the prices are much higher. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian burger.

Strong small of urine. There is a problem with the washroom toilets causing a smell at the back of the restaurant. We ate there but now I regret it.

Service was great Makayla was fast and very nice. Food was good nothing overly impressive we ordered just regular breakfast. The prices and atmosphere were disappointing. $3.75 for weak coffee. $50 for two breakfasts and one coffee. Bathroom floor was very sticky and the restaurant had a strange propane smell. There are too many other cheaper breakfast options in Cobourg to consider coming back here.

Was here on a weekend visit and the store looked quite popular so we decided to try their brunch menu. Service was not well - long wait times, and we had to remind several times of requests. The food was not good and already gone cold - french toast in particular tasted bland and dry.

Went with my parents and my wife for a family dinner after graduating University. Service was amazing, friendly and welcoming. The food was made to order, this means a longer wait time, but it was so worth it. Pam was wonderful and with Sam in the kitchen, youll want to come back again.

The food and service was good. Nothing impressive. The atmosphere is amazing with a traditional old-world feel. Cobourg is a beautifully quaint town with so much to offer. I give Grandmas Kitchen 3 out of 5 mustaches.

The coffee. Was so strong. Couldn t drink it. Many burnt scrap pieces of potatoes under fresh ones. Sausage was freezer burnt. expensive for what you bought. I always finish my breakfast. You can get the same breakfast at Homeplate for 15 dollars cheaper for 2 people. The toast probably won t be stale either. But great serving staff, too nice to tell her we wouldn t be back.

We came down to the cobourg beach, found an awesome place to dine in for breakfast and lunch. We got a breakfast poutine, special of the day chilli chicken, Oreo pancakes, also tried this fresh coconut water which we didn t expect in cobourg. This place is the best food in town and excellent fast service. Server Lori was very friendly. Thank you..will come back again!

First time locals to this restaurant. Greeted graciously at the door by owner and seated promptly by our very nice waitress but it went downhill from there. Table was sticky and not cleaned properly. Received our orange juice in plastic cup like children. Cutlery was sticky as well. We sat 35 mins waiting for bacon eggs and a Bennie. It was not that busy so breakfast shouldnt have taken that long. We will not be returning.

The wait can be kinda long but its totally worth it as the restaurant has great lunch and breakfast options and specials. The staff where kind and very polite. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a excellent breakfast or light lunch.

I got a burger and fries. It cost roughly 20$, and the amount of food they gave for that 20$ is ridiculous. Like a child size portion of fries. The burger was a mess and the bun was rock hard. Also to note, while we were picking up our food the restaurant was very hot inside.

Went for breakfast. Highly overpriced. Food was OK and served very quickly, so thats a plus. Coffee was awful. Service was terrible, tho that could be because there was only one server. But it wasnt busy, she just wasnt very attentive after you got your food. Also do not sit at the preferred table as you will be dealing with flies constantly. All in all, we wont be going back. But I do wish the owners lots of luck.

This recently-opened restaurant has a very long list of breakfast and brunch menu items, from the traditional to new-style bowls. Two friends and I enjoyed our breakfasts here the other day. Delicious omelettes. Prices are reasonable and the service is attentive.

this place was awful. i had hair in my eggs, my take out was cold and did not take 20 minutes as they told me. I would not order again. But the bacon was good

Great breakfast, wide selection, friendly staff, and best of all its very affordable. Parking was a little tricky, but all in all, it was a great experience. Will definitely be back!

I have had pancakes and they were awesome. Perfect breakfast that would make you full. Had Pasta another day. Great taste and blend of spices, bread was also awesome. Constant Costumers.

Last week I visited grandma s kitchen one of the main attraction was the their speed delivery and also I have to say their food is so fresh and tasty, and my kids also loved their veggie burger must visit restaurant in cobourg. someone asked me as I came out of the place after eating breakfast and they asked me how it was. My response was Its just ok, nothing special. The kitchen was quite slow and the place had maybe 5 tables in use.

We went on a Sunday morning as we were hopeful that the new breakfast joint in town was going to be good. Im not sure if our experience was typical but we were quite taken aback at what we encountered there. Ambience was what you would expect from a local breakfast joint. Simple, basic and non-descript. We had been there previously when it was another restaurant and it didnt appear to have much of an upgrade. Not the serious issue. Servers were really busy as it is a big space with a lot of tables and most of them were full as youd expect on a Sunday morning after church. We were greeted and were seated promptly but aside from our beverages, that was the last time we spoke to her until our food was served and finished. She just couldnt physically get back to us because again, 2 servers and who I assume was one of the owners shovelling food out of the kitchen. We felt bad for the two ladies they had running around that big space. Our food was bussed out eventually by someone who wasnt our server. No big deal. Now...the food. We had ordered smoked salmon Benedict and I had a side order of rye toast. It came to us with a sickly yellow hollandaise that had no flavour and had congealed on top of our three eggs in a lumpy mess. It was lukewarm and lumpy. The seasoned home fries were so salty, neither one of us were able to finish them. The smoked salmon was old (it smelled like fish which if fresh, wouldnt have smelled like anything but clean smoke with a nice fish smell) and looked like it had been sitting out for a while. There were no capers even though the menu stated it came with some so we were more than disappointed. Even my tiny 3 pieces of rye bread (I get that it was the end of the loaf so they threw in another piece) were so cold that the butter just laid upon the surface in a clumpy mess and didnt melt at all. All in all, we felt bad for the servers but will not be back. If you plan on running a successful restaurant, they dont have the goods. The portions were mediocre, the servers too busy as they kept apologizing to the customers they couldnt attend, and obviously the kitchen was too busy because they couldnt even serve toast that was buttered properly. They should look at their neighbours for a successful business model. Cut your menu in half so you can focus on serving good, homemade food for a good price. They gave us 15% off but honestly, I ate about 20% of what they served me so that wasnt enough of a discount for the awful things on our plates. With food this bad, I cant believe the positive reviews that theyve got on Google. Two thumbs down.

Eggs Benedict were really good! Home fries were just okay, needed to be a little crisper in my opinion. Food was quick to arrive and the service was good too
