Excellent food and atmosphere. Not rushed at all. We had the venison stew and salmon. Top notch.

Nice to have a French restaurant to stop between Toronto and Kingston, but service is very slow, especially to get the bill

Hubby and I just had lunch here. The food was delicious and served in a reasonable time. There were many interesting and varied choices in the menu. The atmosphere is very warm and homey but a little noisy since it was full of diners. Well happily return here for another taste experience!

Stopped for breakfast at Midi. It was fantastic very healthy breakfast with great food and coffee. Will definitely be back for dinner. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Excellent breakfast. Everything was fresh and delicious.

This was my third visit to this restaurant and if I m honest, it might be my last. The first visit was opening week and I allowed some grace given how new they were but certainly provided some feedback on how pushy the service was. We were in for a relaxed birthday lunch but we both felt we were holding up the line at the drive thru by not ordering right away even though the restaurant wasn t busy. We provided this feedback to the owner and asked that she get a read from her patrons as to their sense of urgency on getting served. She seemed to appreciate the advice. Second visit we went in for dinner. The service was less rushed but still it seems they are used to getting patrons in and out even though they are not busy. I am not a drinker so I enjoy a nice mocktail when I m out for a meal. They have nothing and couldn t suggest any except water or fountain drinks. Dinner was good and a reasonable cost. Third visit was a disaster and highly embarrassing because I was with guests of my Airbnb and I was the one who recommended this restaurant. First, a request for a virgin Bloody Mary (pretty basic) could not be accommodated. Ok I ll have water lost revenue opportunity for them. Second, we kept getting asked if we want to order despite the fact we told the first waiter we would give him a sign when we were ready. We were asked 5 times and finally ordered out of shear frustration. This all happened in less than 20 minutes. The restaurant wasn t that busy so it s not like they needed the space. Third and the biggest turn off was that one meal came out 12 minutes earlier than the next two. We kept insistenting she go ahead and eat so it wouldn t get cold but ultimately we ate our dinners at different times. The kitchen is fully aware how long one meal takes over another so gage accordingly. When the pasta dish came it had canned mushrooms and pre-cooked and sliced chicken versus fresh. My salmon was good but the sides were less than adequate. When it was time to get the bill there was no one in site and we waited 20 minutes. All f these things could be corrected easily but my sense is that this breakfast restaurant doesn t know how to be a fine dining lunch or dinner spot.

Food was excellent and price was very reasonable. Staff were very friendly and attentive but some lacked experience, not a big deal. Atmosphere was ok , chairs and tables really need consistency and updating. Biggest thing was the wine list and pricing. I have no problem and am well aware you are normally paying double or a bit more for your bottle of wine at restaurants. I have an issue when I pay $75 for a $22 bottle of wine, that s to much. Our first two choices listed on the menu were not available. Overall I would go back for the food and hope they do well .

I live in downtown Toronto and MIDI and Cafe La Gaffe were two of my favourite restaurant. Then MIDI closed and I felt sad as I loved their food. Yesterday friends and I were visiting Cobourg and voila this sign that says MIDI same logos I went in to inquire and behold it was the beloved MIDI. The food is still as fresh and delicious as always and the warmth from staff is exceptional. Totally would recommend this to anyone visiting cobourg or living there.

We dined here tonight, Oct 22 and we loved our experience. The food was very tasty and the presentation was lovely. Their three course dinner menu offers a lot of choices and for $45 is a great deal. Wine choices are good too. We will return for sure. Thank you Midi Bistro.

Excellent food, service staff need to coordinate better but are fun. The steak was excellent, tender and tasty! The escargot was amazing, the lamb was very tender and the ambiance was fun and relaxing. Highly recommended

Recently tried this new restaurant, I don t have a single complaint! If you re looking for a comfortable atmosphere, and food to impress a date with, you got to try here. It s a breath of fresh air for Cobourg, the food was flavourful and the portions were exactly what I was looking for. An excellent example of French Cuisine. Delicious! And the prices are reasonable. Definitely try it out. Dietary restrictions: Excellent selection of Gluten-Free food!

Someone mentioned Midi to us. So glad they did. The food was healthy. So happy they had real potatoes - not fried. Everything was to my liking and I can be picky and I had no complaints. We have been twice for breakfast. First time had quiche and second time the omelet and both were amazing! I highly recommend breakfast. We will try lunch and dinner soon.

Had the blackened salmon with cream and white wine pasta and it was super delicious. Such a cute little restaurant!

A few months ago we discovered this restaurant because there was almost an hour wait at our regular restaurant in town. We had walked past Midi and decided to give it a try. We had mussels in white wine with garlic and green onions, creamed escargot with toast and the steak sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the escargot. We had never had them that way before and what a wonderful discovery. The coffee to end our meal was very satisfying as well. There are only two less than perfect comments I have: the first is there was only one server so service was not as attentive as it could have been. The second, the ambiance - decor and music - could be a little more French and that would add to the experience. We are having lunch there again today...it is well worth the 40 minute drive.

We loved the food! (Mussels & frites and Mediterranean pasta and escargots). Service was perfect. Thank you. My only complaint was that the atmosphere was a bit contrived. Great French music, but could have been a bit louder. Lights way too bright. Mix those 2 up and it would be a full 5-star review.

Unexpected lunch stop in Cobourg, and what a treat! The homemade pate was amazing, and the burger was delicious. The quiche was fantastic, as per my wife! Pretty good wine list too. Opened recently and we will return, the dinner menu looks very enticing!

Eggs Florentine so delicious. The carmelized onion in the spinach has a subtle je ne sais quoi? The potatoes are amazingly fresh. Perfect little salad and delightfuly sized pieces of fruit too! Easily the beast and most healthy breakfast place around these parts. Have yet to try an evening meal. Tried the creme brulee also awesome.

I really enjoyed my meal at Midis! I was there for dinner and had the special, which was a bison steak and it was great. My friend had the salmon and said it was great too. I had been there previously for lunch and had a delicious salad.

The duck confit with wild blueberries is one of the best meals Ive ever had! We visited Cobourg for the first time on the long weekend (staying at a gorgeous Victorian Coach House via Airbnb) when Midi happened to have a special prix fixe menu for $45 (3 courses). It was SUCH great value, and gave us the chance to try different things. We loved the homemade pate, duck confit and creme brule, and appreciated the service. We went back again another day for takeout because it was so delicious. PS - I highly recommend staying at the Upscale Victorian Coach House in Cobourg run by Kieran and Tara, who give you a list of where to eat and go, and who provide a beautiful place to stay. Its a short drive to Midi and the downtown core/beachfront.

My husband and I decided to try this new restaurant in Cobourg as a very spur of the moment decision. The owners moved their restaurant from downtown Toronto to Cobourg and we are very glad they did! We had a 3 course prix fix dinner and every course was divine. Having lived in France for a few years I had high expectations about the flavours and seasonings and they were nothing less than perfection. We ended on a sweet note of profiteroles I was going to take a picture when they arrived but was carried away by the yumminess of it all maybe next time and yes there will be a next time. Apparently breakfast is fabulous. I can t wait to try it. What delicious meal are you in the mood for? I know you won t be disappointed!.

What a pleasant surprise to find in the small community of Coburg! Food was deliciously prepared, portions were plentiful and not over priced! Will definitely return the next time in the area!

4.5 / 5 Food was very good. Both risottos were creamy and flavorful. The butter that came with bread was not spreadable. But the bread had a crunchy crust and a fluffy middle. Creme brulee was okay but subpar compared to the entrees. Would skip the brulee. Overall very good and would come again.

New ownership as of two weeks ago. Wow! We usually go out for breakfast every Sunday. Our usual place has gone down hill since new ownership so today we thought we d try this place. It s our new breakfast place after today. Amazing food, fresh and the price was awesome. The staff are friendly too. They accept substitutions in their menu and I love that. The wine choices were well paired with our meal. The meal was delicious, the price more than fair, the atmosphere and service were excellent and our company was wonderful. Have now eaten 4 meals here. 1 lunch 1 breakfast and 2 dinners. All meals were excellent. Friends who joined us agree. The service needs to improve. It took an awkward amount of time for us to have our wine opened and poured. That said, all in all. Excellent. Hurry in.

Went to MIDI tonight (8/9/24) for dinner with 3 other friends. The food was excellent. The appetizer was very good and main course was surperb. The dessert was also very good. The service was also very good. All in all - a great addition to the dining scene in Cobourg. Very upmarket food & service for a restaurant in Cobourg - more sophisticated than many of the other around. I definitely will be eating there again and letting all my friends know that there s fine dining at last in Cobourg!!!

Definitely try their escargot. The best Ive ever had and Ive been to Paris twice and I cook some French dishes, so trust me on this. Sindhu is lovely; very attentive and checks in to make sure youre happy. Oh, and do have a Kir. The perfect light cocktail to accompany the wonderful food.

We went for an early Sunday lunch- just walked in. We requested and got the breakfast menu, which was excellent. My wife had the eggs Benedict and I had the MIDI breakfast. Both were great. Loved the decor, music and atmosphere. Prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Midi Bistro only recently opened in Cobourg, Ontario but we ve eaten several times at their old location in Toronto. The new place is every bit as good, and easier ( for now) to reserve a table and park. Of course we had their mussels (8 versions to choose from) and the seafood risotto. The desserts were the stars of the meal and the tarte tatin with cinnamon gelato was one of the very best endings ever to a lovely meal. Edith Piaf songs in the background, BYO even though they have a license, charming service we ll be back. Often.

Food was absolutely amazing! I had the French onion soup and the strip loin steak. The steak melted in your mouth and was done to perfection. Everything was fabulous. I highly recommend !!!

Cobourg is a new location for Midi and our first time enjoying a fantastic meal of Blacken Salmon and Rack of Lamb. All was very, very good. The Apple Tart for dessert was very good.

I arrived at this restaurant after the closing hour, yet they were very welcoming and understanding and offered a table for service. They were very open and eloquent about the menu and made it easy to make a choice. Friendly yet respectful service and tasty dishes offered at this cozy spot. Wine and dessert menu is also a must-try

We had a lovely dining experience at Midi Bistro ... mellow French music, tasteful decor, fine food & amazing service. We ordered escargots, moules frites, duck confit, lamb shank, crème brûlée ... all of which were top-notch ! We will most definitely visit again next time in Cobourg

The escargot was sublime to start, the onion soup was ok. We had the lamb shank, done with a vermouth gravy, mouthwatering, juicy. As well as the beef stew with a red wine base was out of this world, tender and an abundance of meat. The creme brulee to end a wonderful meal was light and done well. Definitely recommend making reservations as it fill up fast after 5pm

In the area for some requirements and thought we would try restaurant. Absolutely glad we did. They had a theee course special on. We chose that option. Glad we did. Definitely stop in and give it a try.

Sinthu and Sasi left the hustle and bustle of Toronto and brought their established casual French diner experience to Cobourg - and we are so delighted - lovely people, wonderful service and the food! A must try is the cognac cream escargot, the rack of lamb and breakfast scrambled eggs are wonderful - open breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week!!!

Staff was friendly, informative, and inviting. I had a chicken hummus wrap with goat cheese which was filled with flavour, and filling. I really appreciated the artwork around the walls and I am looking forward to trying out there seating swings sometime. Will definitely be back with a group soon! Thank you Midi Staff!

The one and only French Restaurant in cobourg. We were there today for lunch. After we got seated and ordered our chicken avocado wrap and realized it was own by some Indian or Sri Lankan NOT French guy. We were skeptical at first about the food. The wrap was amazing the potion was more than enough for me. The service was great. Price was reasonable. We can see that the interior deco still have some finishes to complete. The deco and indoor patio that looks like a summer garden with 5 swing is out of the ordinary. It reminds me of Paris, European Cafe on the the Boulevard. Were definitely come back to try their dinner menu. You have just make Cobourg better for everyone living here.

Our group went to the opening of Midi in Cobourg. Service was impeccable and the appetizers, mains and desserts were all of high quality for a very reasonable price. We will be visiting again!

My family had a very enjoyable meal at Midi Bistro. The mains were superb as were the other dishes. The service was excellent. This new restaurant is a gem and we are sure it will be very popular here in Cobourg.

We had a reservation for May 20th and arrived only to find the bistro permanently closed!!! The website needs to reflect this. Hence only one star because 0 cant be given.

It was cold. It had no personality. There was no music on when we arrived. There was a space heater in the middle of the floor. It was not charming. It was... sad. The food was decent. It was wheelchair accessible.

We randomly chose this place for dinner with my sister because I wanted steak and she had a craving for fish. This place menu offered both options. The service was very good. But the best part was food! Excellent! I ordered Fromage de Chèvre Gratiné (Grilled Goat Cheese on Toast, Honey Drizzle, Mixed Greens) and Steak au Poivre (AAA Top Sirloin, Cognac Cream Sauce, Cracked Peppercorns). Delicious. I am definitely coming back!!!

We had a vegetarian companion, and barley could choose something from the menu. I think the concept is great, but the escargot were not prepared in the shell, the crème brûlée had to much lavander and the consistency of the creme where not as good as I expected. The seafood risotto was great and the lamb rack too!! The wine selection was expensive and not as good as I expected according to price per bottle. The service was very good

Im thinking the fries are from mc Donalds... my friends appetizer was cassoulet escargot was watered down Alfredo sauce with mushrooms.... my app was meh... pate i get from the grocery store. We went during winterlicious as a group. The service was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers. I had the French onion soup, which was excellent. The portions were great. I had the creme brule. It wasnt my favourite as I found it a bit too dense. My spouse loved it and had no issues finishing mine. Overall, we enjoyed the food, service, ambiance and would not hesitate to return.

Had a great dinner with my girls at Midi. We each ordered the three-course prix fixe menu. I had the onion soup, beef bourguignon, and creme brulee. All tasted very good and were presented nicely but I have had better, more authentic-tasting versions of these dishes. One friend had the mussels with fries and she loved them huge and tasty portion. The other had the duck and enjoyed it. The service was great; very attentive and kind server. Overall, good food and excellent service at a reasonable price.

This small place seems very conventional until you have the first bite and discover your new French cuisine spot in Toronto. The foie gras, beef bourguignon, duck confit and lamb shank are the beat I had in years. Deserts need improvement, the profiteroles arent as original as expected. That said, the cheesecake is a must! 8/10! We will surely be back!

We had our Winterlicious with 20 of my coworkers here. Its a small place but nice ambiance, great food, excellent service and reasonable price for a 3 course meal.

Winterlicious 2023 is back for another season and Midi Bistro is one of those places you can count on to have a great meal anytime. Dinner costs $45 now but is still a good deal and your money well spent mainly because of their superb food, service and ambience. Went out with two of my friends and so we get to try different dishes: Appetizers: Sautéed Escargots with Portobello Mushroom - this is a rich and delectable appetizer. Its cooked in cognac and basil cream sauce and you can soak up the creamy goodness with the complimentary bread they provided you. And let me tell you they tasted silky and divine! Pate de Campagne with Toast & Gherkins - the pate is more on the coarse and rustic type and portion is generous. Comes with a side salad and baguette. Spicy Crab Cakes - crab cakes are really tasty and spicy. The touch of heat adds a flavourful twist to the classic crab cake. But I wish they would have given more instead of only 2 crab cakes. This is my fave out of all the 3 apps and 10/10 would order this again. Main Dish: Braised Lamb Shank - find it a tad dry and a bit overcooked, this is my least fave dish. Theres also a pronounced gamey flavour with the lamb shanks. 8 oz Striploin Steak - perfectly cooked juicy steak paired well with the mushroom brandy sauce. Seafood Risotto - packed with different types of seafood, they give you a huge portion of this dish and its so flavourful in every bite. Dessert: Creme Brûlée - crisp shell that shattered under your spoon exposing rich and smooth layer of custard beneath with just a hint of vanilla, this is a joy to eat. Strawberry Cheesecake - this is the star of the show. Silky smooth and creamy classic cheesecake with delightful strawberry topping tastes as amazing as it looks. Overall we had a great dining experience and special mention to our server, Sindhu whos very nice and friendly. And even though the place was packed, she still manages to maintain a calm composure, smiling and welcoming people in the restaurant. Truly worthy of a praise!

Midi is like an old-school bistro you may have found on a back street of the Quartier Latin 50 years ago when I lived in Paris for a year. Comfy, quaint and never a bad meal. Comparatively reasonable prices with a daily 3 course prix fixe menu (currently $49), the meats, fish & vegetables are cooked à point and portions are generous. This place is not about innovative techniques or too-pretty-to-eat platings. Its about the classic dishes - boeuf bourguignon, moules frites, onion soup, crème brûlée- prepared well in traditional ways. French comfort food of the best sort. The wine list is good and service is friendly & casual - neither stuffy nor hipsterly brash. Midi is close to the AGO so is a great place to eat after a trip to the gallery.

Ive been here twice, once a few years ago and now recently. I would say I had a much better food experience from my first trip than my most recent. In my last visit the ginger was very heavy in the soup however my main entree and the creme brulee dessert were decent although Im not so sure about whether I would consider the food options to be authentically French. Service was good both times.

Probably the best prix fixe menu price you ll find in Toronto, but you get what you pay for. The duck was chewy and the escargot were not very flavourful. It was ok

Came here for lunch. Had the lunch prix fixe with French Onion soup, Seared Tuna and Creme Brulee. We added a Salade Nicoise. French Onion soup had lots of cheese and croutons. Seared Tuna was perfectly seasoned and cooked to medium. It was paired with salad and fries. Fries were cooked perfectly to mimic McDonalds standsrd without being over salted. Creme Brulee was creamy, wished it had more vanilla taste to it. Salad Nicoise with pesto dressing was great. Fingerling potatoes were warm, roasted red peppers had flavour and the tuna portion was good. There was one server that served all the tables during a busy lunch service, hats off to him. I would like to come back for another meal. I would like to try the tartiflette, but it might be too filling. Quiche with salad seems to be a good option. The table next to us got the steak sandwich, it was definitely full 8oz steak. Group that sat behind us, many chose Chicken Wrap so it must have tasted good. Parking: Paid street parking and paid parking lots are available.

A mediocre French bistro, very quiet especially on a Saturday evening, escargot was tasty and creamy, frites were very crispy and served hot, but the lamb shank was a reheat with part of the meat totally over-cooked and dry. Prix fixe menu was very extensive, good selection of sauces for the mussels in the regular menu.

An Uncut Gem Its a small bistro restaurant not far from AGO. Nothing posh or fancy, but extremely nice and friendly service and great food with more than reasonable prices. Home-Made Pork and Chicken Liver Pâté with Gherkins was good, but another appetizer - Sautéed Escargots with Portobello mushroom in Cognac & Basil cream sauce - is simply fantastic! Its much better than standard butter & garlic recipe for escargots, that I cannot compare to any other even much more expensive restaurants in GTA. With steamed mussels we made a mistake - we selected Marinière white wine sauce. The dinner size is 2 lbs of mussels, but the sauce was far from perfect. Top Sirloin steak was done perfectly medium rare as we ordered it. I mentioned that I dont eat fries and got fresh salad instead. Crème Brûlée was above average, but Cinnamon Ice Cream was fabulous and it was a great addition to crème brulee. Americano was bold. And the service was absolutely amazing. If you want to have a delicious feast for a very budget price, Midi Bistro is just for you!

Unusual place in Toronto, excellent French cuisine. Quality meats and generously served. A attentive service with a very pleasant family atmosphere. I recommend Doureradjam Robert France.

Great restaurant for French cuisine. Wasnt very busy at all on a weeknight. They have pretty good pasta and steak, and have many options for mussels. The atmosphere & decor almost remind me of an 1800s escape room.

Went for dinner for our first night in Toronto and we were not disappointed. We had a goats cheese salad. Its done differently to what youd get in France, but was really really good. The vinaigrette was somehow really light and tasty. We had the steak and chicken main courses, which were also very good, followed by an amazing Tarte Tatin for desert. You can get some wine by 0.5 l , which is really great for 2 people. We were recommended a red wine which we loved.

My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful and delicious dinner at Midi Restaurant on McCall Street in Toronto ON on Saturday night. The cozy indoor atmosphere now has an added back patio (covered) which extends the great experience at this bistro style restaurant. The location is very convenient to the AGO, annex, college street or any central downtown destination. Street parking is available. We had the salmon which was excellent...vegetables cooked to perfection. The prix fix is a great deal and the menu options extensive. The service was friendly and attentive and the whole experience was really enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant, usually popular for lunch but also a fabulous dinner destination.

The risotto was very good and tasty, with great flavours. Last but not least the crème brûlée was the best I ever had and would highly recommend it! AWFUL FRENCH FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Writing this review just as I am falling asleep because I need my fellow Torontonians to know not to go here. Went to Midi bistro one sunny day, and god... I wish I never gotten off that Queens Park subway stop. Can see why it is called Midi bistro because thats exactly what it is... mid. We got seated at their outdoor patio. It was the kind of patio that you would be okay having you bat mitzvah at, but depressed if all your friends organized your baby shower there. Think, the Pet Smart versions of patios. There was a set menu, so you could only order 1 thing from each category- appetizer, main and dessert. Each of the courses had 3-5 dishes to chose from. All of that for $33!! All of us are already broke enough as it is, so we split it three ways to equal $11. We got the French onion soup, Quiche Lorraine and vanilla ice cream. After the iPhone 1 long wait was over, we got our average French onion soup. It wasnt that bad, it was just bland (much like the conversations I was having). The worst part though, was the Quiche Lorraine with frites. As you can see in the photo provided, it looks like a high school cafeteria lunch (on a bad day). The brown on the top is not a nice, tasty, even crisp, but spice. I think it was cumin, but whatever it was, was so overpowering that its all I could taste. I was having such an awful time that I didnt stay for dessert, so sorry to my posse but I cannot review the dessert. I only have one hot tip for this place, and its to go to the Jimmys next door :)

Actually a nice location. Small patio in the back. Nice crab cake, but completely uninspired. With a little bit of salad on the side, some sugared vinegar dressing. Puhhh. Salad not the freshest. And then moules. 10 different varieties, mine was white wine and onions. Pretty much taste free. With Fries??? Oh dear, why is it so difficult to make things nice? Just a little bit of ambition. Staff was nice, very friendly, but also, like the food, no spice. Someone needs to explain this to me: why no ambition, when you have all the ingredients????? Bit sad.

Has nothing to do with French food. Expensive. Even the wine was far from tasteful. Chef has a lot to learn.

Dont go on a Sunday, which is when they switch from a fairly respectable a la carte menu to a three course Prix Fixe and unload a bunch of easy-to-prepare dishes on the customers. My quiche Lorraine was a pre-packaged, single serving portion on a really ugly plate festooned with fries and salad. My side salad looked like it was a few days old and while they offered to replace it, I declined as I just wanted to get out of there. Dessert was three tablespoons of vanilla ice cream; coffee was not Bistro grade. Service was somewhat attentive but scattered, as they didnt ask us if we wanted anything to drink when we arrived and we had to ask after the first course had been served. My friends liked their risotto and the pasta, but not the creme brule. Theyve really got to up their game or just close altogether on Sundays before they drag the place right down. Theyre obviously trying to make a few bucks on the chefs day off and it just aint working.

Went to this restaursnt today as part of summerlicious. I will not recommended, food didnt meet expectations for the price. Menu was ok, service was messy we got ask multiple times about our order and they took forever to bring the desert and I think forgot our wine until we ask for it.

For the food, there are chunks of cooked rice in the risotto, which means they cooked white rice in the rice cooker and just mixed it with the sauce. And the rice is so soft that it partially dissolved into the sauce. Imagine the rolled oatmeal or congee, that s how it tastes. The quiche is like what I can get in fast food place. Fries are soft. Macdonald can do better than this. The crème brûlée looks normal, but there s ginger in it. It was so strange that I asked my friend to take a scoop to confirm it s really ginger. I don t know if it s intentional or they didn t clean the bowl. It s just ridiculous. For the service, it s my second time here. The first time was 4years ago and the food was alright, that s why we came again. In our first visit, the food was forgotten and was kept in the kitchen for more than an hour until we asked the waitress what was going on. The fettuccine at the rim of the plate was already dried. This time we waited about 30 min after the starter before asking the waitress when we can get the food (because of the experience from the first time). She said it s coming soon, and about 10 min later another waitress came and asked us if we were waiting for the main. It seems like they don t know what they ve done and what not. In summary, worst French restaurant I ve been in 5 years. Never again and will tell everyone to avoid it.

Went here for lunch during summerlicious. The seafood rissoto is really good and the cheesecake wss moist and delicious!! Very cute patio in the back which was covered from direct sun but might not be protection from the rain.

We went for summerlicious. We wanted to like this place, but it was mediocre at best. It was busy, so they must do a good business. Unfortunately despite our reservation, we were seated in a small separate room which had all the charm of a claustrophobic storage room, which I would not be surprised if it originally was. I think only two servers were covering the whole place so I feel for them, but service was not good. Again, maybe where we were seated made us out of sight, out of mind. About 45 minutes until drinks arrived at the table. Onion soup was bland and watery, boeuf bourguignon underspiced, not rich, no pearl onions, few mushrooms, etc. Served with unseasoned generic vegs. After my friends first beer, he was told that another of that brand was not cold, so he switched. Same thing happened again - why is there only 3 beers in your fridge? Creme brulee was okay. Only half the dishes were cleared, leaving the rest for about 20 minutes. Had to chase down the cheque. Overall, not worth returning.

Crab cakes were okay, steak rubbery and didn t like the sauce it came with. But their cheesecake was phenomenal!!

OK, first I love Indian food, which is lucky, because thats def mostly what is being cooked in the kitchen. The strong smell of cumin, coriander and hing dampens the French vibe. The menu is drastically altered from the one posted on the website and yes the greens were fresh but everything else felt like went from freezer to microwave to plate. Sad, because it used to be a good mid-range French(ish) place. Now its just cafeteria food at bistro prices. Reading the other reviews and either they have different cooks on some days or the pandemic has really lowered standards. I wont be back.

Authentic french cuisine. Very nice and food quality. The restaurant is having a three course menu for $39 or $45. Lots of selection to choose from. Big portion especially the appetizer grilled calamari. And the dessert is very special and good. We all enjoyed the food and the excellent service. We will definitely go back and try other food items on the $45 menu. Not sure when this set menu will end though.

Midi is situated on 168 Mc Caul St. Its a combination of Mediterranean and French Bistro Cuisine. We were served by Sindoo who is very humble and wears a warm smile. My good friend supported Midi over the years especially over covid while its my second time and I had to order the cinnamon Salmon again . Service is excellent, price and portions are reasonable, theres a prix fixe menu and a patio weather permitting. I will be back to try other dishes and I highly recommend Midi. Vegetarian options: lots of options Dietary restrictions: Ask and you will get. Parking: Perhaps public transportation is better Kid-friendliness: very kid friendly

We had a magnificent evening at Midi Bistro with 17 people celebrating a special occasion. The owners organized a prix fix menu to help me control costs. I thought this would be a very limited menu, but instead was pleasantly surprised with the many options and high-quality food made available for my guests. Full 3-course meal with offerings ranging from duck to lamb to fish to steak with tasty vegetarian/vegan options too. Importantly, the food was delicious and presented beautifully. Well be back!

Good food and service. Ambience quite similar to what you might find in a neighbourhood bistro in Paris. Not fancy, but good value. Good wine list, too, and we had a very nice Cotes du Rhone.

Went for summerlicious menu. The waiter was rude and the food was mediocre. The lamb shank was over cooked. The waitresses and waiter kept reaching awkwardly over me and spilling water all over the table as they poured it. The waitress lifted my friend s plate and smacked me hard in the head with it. She apologized but was laughing the entire time. Would not return or recommend them.
