Wonderful place for the whole family to go for sushi! The staff are friendly and accommodating :)

Sushi was dried up and old. Chicken teriyaki was cold should have been hot. This place used to be great.

Great restaurant, best in Cobourg. I dont care for sushi but Teriyaki Tofu and yaki soba noodles is outstanding. Their salad dressing is heavenly .

My wife and I had dinner here on October 22. We had a sashimi dinner which we shared between us. My wife found a hair on one of her pieces of sashimi and immediately took it to the owner. The owner returned to the table and intimated that it was one of my wife s hairs. This is a restaurant that we have visited frequently and have always been delighted with the food and the service. This time was so disappointing and the attitude of the owner was atrocious.

Absolutely amazing, the server, Madeline, was just astounding. Very kind and understanding. Food was very good, best Ive had. Would make the drive out to go any time. Thank you for making my stay amazing.

Food is always on point and the service is always amazing. The one girl there is so kind and really cares about her customers. She did amazing with my littles who are only 1 and 2. She s ALWAYS there! I wish I grabbed her name, I believe she said she was a college student out of Peterborough. She s always gone above and beyond for us! Thanks! :) Kid-friendliness: Our waitress we ve had every time absolutely loves children! She s never made us feel bad for having messy kids.

Amazing sushi, one order was plenty to share with another app. Service was not the greatest, luckily our party of two was not in a hurry but we had to flag down the server every-time, she did not come to check in if anything was needed. It was not overly busy half the tables were empty so it was not due to it being packed.

Always great food and friendly service. Been going for years and we love the food, dine in or take out.

Food was good but service was very very poor. T,he waitress dont really care of our hand in the air and doesnt seem to even been aware of it even when you are beside her..

My server Desiree was exceptional and nailed the Caesar cocktail ! Had the apple cider chicken and definitely one of the best item on menu! Hats off to the the cook and servers.

Looked up some places to eat on our way back home from Montreal. What an amazing little gem in Cobourg! Service was great, and portions are very generous and beautifully plated. Will make our way back to Cobourg again for this sushi!

Feb 14th - Currently sitting at the table I made a reservation for, its been 42 minutes we have not been acknowledged yet, havent even had a glass of water yet. Update: we were served water after 50 minutes, order taken after 1 hour and finally got our food in 1 hour and 20 minutes after we got inside. The restaurant was not at capacity, as there were 4 empty tables in the middle. I like the food and might come back, maybe just for take out. Improvements would be welcomed.

What a cozy restaurant. Great food and a fair sized portion. My first time there and the Bento box was recommended. It was delicious!

Seems to be loved by the locals. But to us, it is a little bit too sweet. Every sushi was sweet. But their korean food was authentic.

The food was quite decent, but the service was really really slow. Took the server more than 45 mins to just serve their Sushi dinner

This is a must for us every time we come to Cobourg - the food is amazing, large portions, the staff are super friendly and everything about this place is perfection. The sushi pizza is the best we ve ever had, the tempura is done perfectly and not oily, and the maki is super fresh and simply outstanding! Vegetarian options: Lots of options for vegetarians Parking: Ample parking behind the restaurant, free for 2 hrs Kid-friendliness: Lots on the menu for kids to enjoy, and lots of families can be found dining in and taking out.

Favourite sushi place around! When my friends from the city visit they are blown away and say this is the best and freshest sushi they ve ever had.

Best sushi Ive had so far. Definitely will be back. The service was excellent. The Wasabi seemed authentic, and it had heat but without burning your nostrils out no matter how much I used. Parking: Parking on street, paid until 6pm or free on weekends

Super friendly wait staff. Nice Bulgogi. All round pleasant dining experience. Will return. GFs Red Dragon roll was very good; however, the sauce was a bit overwhelming. But no reduction in stars.

One of our favourite restos in Cobourg! Consistently good food, wonderfully attentive staff and terrific ambience.

Its one of the best sushi places i have ever visited. The size is huge. The ingredients are freshly made, and fried items like tempura and volcano are tasty. Not oily, which is amazing, meaning the oil is clean. Our order took time but understandable. The shop is clean and smells good.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is served in generous portions, and the service is amazing!! Our server, Maddie, is fantastic. She is knowledgeable, personable, and super professional. Great experience!!

Food was delicious and substantial. The Golden Chopstick roll and the Volcano roll are must-try items if you want something a little different we absolutely loved them and will be back. The atmosphere and service were both pleasant as well.

Another great spot in Cobourg. Not a place like the Golden Chopsticks in Toronto I can tell you that. Food is amazing, the prices are incredible and the staff is amazing.

My son and i have been here quite a bit , our favorites are spicy chicken, beef teriyaki, crab appetizer and avocado cucumber roll.

A+ sushi!! Absolutely delicious, beats some of my favourite spots in Toronto. Very friendly atmosphere, and the staff are very knowledgeable about celiac/gluten free needs. They even have GF tamari sauce. Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options, just let the server know and theyll make sure you get GF tamari and know their menu inside out.

Nice sushi

On our way home from Ottawa, we passed by downtown Cobourg for a quick bite and found Golden Chopsticks by accident. The seafood udon soup was great. The sashimi dinner was fantastic. Compliments to the chef.

If you get the right thing it can be quite tasty. Unfortunately they have difficulties with timing food.....even with 2hrs warning for a pickup. They were still 15min late.

Had a craving for veggie spring rolls and someone below mentioned they were the best here. I ve never been so disappointed when I opened the tiny little box. I had thought they would be adequate, but they were so small.

My first time at Golden Chopsticks was take out but still very good. Very friendly and helpful service. It was pretty busy so I did have to wait but it was worth it! Miso soup, 2 Boston Rolls and a Spicy California Roll. Everything was delicious, my only complaint is a couple of the Boston rolls werent tight enough so they fell apart. Aside from that and the wait it was a good first experience! Food was worth it! Will definitely be going back

Ordered philadelphia rolls, paid 40$. None of the rolls had any salmon or fish. Called to correct the error, apparently their philadelphia rolls don t come with salmon, only avocado. Was not listed anywhere on the website or menu. Very upset

Placed pick up order, specifically requested order to be made with no tempura due to an allergy, clarified twice on the phone while making the order. Found out once I got home that all the rolls contained tempura and when I called back to let them know the waiter told me I didnt clarify to her,and that the rolls I ordered cannot be made without tempura. I have placed the same order multiple times before this and never had an issue. I was surprised that she was trying to argue with me and blaming me for the mistake offering no form of resolution and now I have a 25$ order I can not eat. Very upset with customer service. Please clarify to customers if something can not be done on the phone beforehand.

Slow af but good food. That s just my experience though. Maybe yours will be better. It was a Saturday night and I m sure the staff tried but two hours to get some sushi is pretty nuts.

I went yesterday for dinner. I have waited at the table for about 20 min without even getting a menu. It was not busy time, however, only 1 staff actually running around all the tables. Then I decided to leave. Although it does offer good food, the service was really bad from my personal experience as well as it is quite pricy. I never saw that lady whom I heard she is the owner smile, instead, her face often makes you feel you owe money to her. Such a pricy place, why cannot hire more staff to do a better job?

Our office staff had a wonderful company lunch at Golden Chopsticks a few weeks ago. The servers were attentive and all of our individual orders arrived in a timely manner. We had a great time and look forward to our next visit. Everyone left happy, healthy and may have even gained a few extra inches around the waist area. ;)

The food is good here but the prices have gone up significantly in the last year. Along with the prices rising, the portions have also been cut down significantly. Apparently the miso soup doesn t come with takeout orders anymore. I understand inflation is a very real thing but businesses need to choose whether they re cutting portions or increasing prices, they should not be doing both.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I am from out of town but work in Cobourg and I will no longer settle from sushi from anywhere else. Always fresh sushi, and always friendly service! The very best :)

Had a reservation, table wasnt set when we got there, waited 10 minutes to have our orders taken. Cutlery wasnt given until 30 seconds before our food got there, and the food took over 40 minutes to get to the table. The servers didnt check in on us until after we had finished our meal. Food was good but the service was aggravating.

We love the volcano rolls and crab appetizers! My daughter lives in Ottawa but prefers this sushi restaurant over any other!

Always delicious food here, they have vegan options and the prices aren t ridiculous. Definitely recommend stopping by for a delicious meal and great service.

Stopped in for pickup on my way through Cobourg, on the way home. This place is fantastic. The quality of fish and other ingredients is incredible. Went in just to pay for pickup, and the whole place looks so clean and well kept. We will be back when we pass through. Such a great meal, and great value for the price.

A little pricy but the sushi was amazing

07/21, Didnt call in ahead for my (large) order but staff was great at plugging it in on the spot - and the wait time was minimal. Put in the time to take in all the niceties of this restaurant. It really is amazing. And the take away was enjoyed by the family to the fullest. Highly recommended !!!

Such good food. Tempura is lightly battered. Service is friendly and efficient.

Interior Decor is a very nice improvement over their previous location. The California rolls (Uramaki) varies in flavour and appearance depending if sesame seeds or tasty orange fish roe have been included but good just the same. If cost is an issue Id rather pay the extra to have both included for the more appetizing appearance alone. Delicious shrimp tempura and dipping sauce but on some rare occasions found to be a tad oily. Miso soup and fresh crisp salads are consistently good. One of my favourite goto restaurants for me here in Cobourg!

The sushi was good, but my pork katsudon was disappointingly overcooked. For appetizers we had the mixed tempura, which was light and crispy and tasted very good. Again, the chicken karaage was overcooked and tough.

Excellent sushi and sashimi. On my last visit the sashimi seemed to be cut a little thick for my liking. But very fresh and tasty.

First of all, I used to work as a chef in a japanese restaurant for many years. I wasnt expecting much from this place, but I will not lie, good portion, good presentation, reasonable price. It makes me wonder what else is good in there. Good job guys !

Have eaten here a couple of times. I find their sushi to have been sloppy and losely rolled. Pieces are way to big and found that little pride went into the creation of their meal. :(

We were a little bit disappointed in tonight s dinner. Our rice was crunchy, and my daughter,s chicken was overdone and not edible. We have been in the past and had delicious meals. Tonight was just not our night.

Amazing food and service!

My partner and I drive an hour from Toronto just to eat there after going for the first time while stopping in randomly. Madeline our server was an amazing server and knew everything we asked her about custom options like no dairy or eggs. She really made our visit memorable, super friendly. Their tempura batter and house sauce does not have dairy or eggs in it. The food always taste amazing and super fresh. The rolls are loaded with filling and light on the rice. Best sushi weve had in long time, even with all the options in Toronto.

This is a sit down restaurant. Nice seating.The place was empty. My expectation is warm food. My friend ordered green tea, it came Luke warm at best. The angry crab rolls i ordered were refrigerator cold! When i raised the concern and asked if i can order anything warm from the menu. Bc i understand sometimes sushi rolls are cold. The waitress couldnt suggest anything warm from the menu. I resorted to crab soup which was hot it was okay. It was soup.
