We made the trip from Peterborough to Cobourg based on a family members recommendation. DEFINITELY worth the trip and looking forward to our next road trip to Tezca. Fresh, Flavours and Service (thanks Mike) were impeccable. And you must top it off with their desserts. You will not be disappointed. Vegetarian options: DELICIOUS various vegetarian options.

Seriously good food and an awesome place to just chill and check out Cobourgs downtown. Best Mexcian Ive had in a long time.

Great service and maybe the atmosphere would be good for drinks and friends gathering but for food quality, definitely not worth the prices charged. Homemade taco shells were *meh at best. Bland, stiff and with an aftertaste. With some work on food quality and a reduction in price this restaurant might be worth a return visit to it once or twice a year, but unfortunately - can t see it succeeding in this area. Food is just too easily replicated at home for a fraction of the cost and twice the quality.

Dined in and ordered the nachos, my partner ordered the breakfast burrito. Very pricey, waited a pretty long time for our food. Don t order the nachos they re way overpriced and somehow flavourless even though there are like 20 ingredients on them. Everything tasted sweet or didn t taste like anything at all. Chicken was unseasoned, tortilla chips were bland. Don t bother.

We really hoped to love this place and thought maybe we just chose an off day to try it out. However based on some of the other reviews with similar complaints, it seems we weren t the only ones who experienced the same service and left disappointed. Pros: The pineapple paloma drink was decent as was the poached shrimp taco. The taco shells were nice and light. Cons: We arrived at noon and waited an hour for our food to arrive. There was only one other table of two seated who also had waited a solid 45 mins for their meals. We weren t checked on once during that time and there was zero acknowledgment or communication from the waitress about the lengthy wait. I could understand if it were busy but this was not the case. We only ordered two tacos and a chicken burrito. The portions are surprisingly small for the price and the burrito was lacking chicken and flavour. For all the meals we ve tried at the downtown Cobourg establishments, this restaurant has been the biggest let down so far and the only one to actually make me want to take the time to leave a review. We wanted to love it, but unfortunately won t be back.

We went for my friends birthday and it was absolutely horrible we waited 45 minutes for water the waitress and owner we doing shot at the table next to us with customers and more than once the food was awful and it was way to expensive I would not recommend!!! And all our drinks were wrong and food took forever

Food was not great. Chips were stale and the guacamole had no taste. Empanada was greasy under cooked. The pulled pork quesadilla was very good and so was the pear margarita. Service wasn t great. Food came out in a timely manner however the server forgot to bring water. No big deal except when I went in to use the restroom our server was sitting down eating. I paid and left. Won t be back.

We were looking forward to eating here after seeing the 5 star reviews but were less than impressed when we realized that we ve been waiting 45 minutes for our food to come. We only got them 5-10 minutes after we followed up on our orders. They told us that they re already preparing it, but I don t think it takes that long to make a burrito and one piece of taco at a time when there were only 5 other tables in the restaurant. It would have been avoided if the servers checked up on us here and there, but sadly that wasn t the case. For the food, the burrito was soft and guac a little watery for my taste. Bistek taco was good though.

Great Spot for Cobourg, Reasonable prices, Yummy food, and the staff are always in a good mood. Only downfall--its busy!!!! BUT HEY cant complain when a place is full and has awesome vibes.

Chef Joe does it again! Food is absolutely amazing! Tried a couple different things off the menu and the authenticity in each meal is amazing! So nice to have a taste of Mexico in Cobourg! Had Mike serve us a couple times, service is always top notch!!! Highly recommend Tezca to anyone looking for some good authentic food!!

What a cool place and cool vibe! Food was fantastic and priced well for the amount you receive, and the the range of premium tequilas and cervezas was incredible! Joe- the head chef- was great, his food was delicious, he was welcoming, and he served us personally! Definitely going back!

Great place! Stopped in for lunch after the Waterfront Festival and sat on the patio. Food was fantastic, very authentic, service was good too. Our party of 4 shared Nachos and we all tried a number of different tacos. Definitely going back!

Hidden gem of cobourg. Best quesadillas in town

Being a local cobourg resident, I was looking forward to finally eating here! I was disappointed to say the least, mostly due to the service and subpar drinks. Firstly, we were never given any water, we had to go inside to request water. Only one glass was provided when there were two of us. Secondly, when given a plate of chips to share, napkins, plates and cutlery were never provided. We had to request them. The waitress seemed mildly annoyed with us the entire time, never asked if we wanted a second beverage or checked in on us. The margarita was okay, in my opinion was diluted with too much lime juice. Tacos met expectations but weren t mind blowing, simply just food that was edible. I would not recommend, and would prefer going to the El or Cucina for the same price.

Found this wonderful restaurant while visiting the area. The food is amazing!!!! The staff is great, including Joe who I believe is the owner. The staff took the time to answer any questions we had and gave us recommendation on where to go in the area. The food is fresh, well presented and you can tell that the staff takes pride in what they do. Parking on the street is not too expensive. The patio does not hold a lot of people but there is seating inside. You can just pop in for a margarita if thats all you need! This restaurant comes highly recommended

This place ruined nachos for me!! I cant get over how good they were!!!!! The beans made a perfect protein without adding anything, and the staff made many suggestions for drinks and for a vegetarian diet. Everything was reasonably priced and clearly a lot of heart goes into everything.

Lots of options, even vegetarian and vegan. I love that all the tacos are gluten free as it gives a very inclusive atmosphere for those with celiac or other gluten sensitivities. The Nachos have ruined regular restaurant nachos for me as they are just too good.

Tezca has a cool vibe, great food and nice people. Great value. Highly recommended. The burrito special is excellent, as are all the tacos and nachos. We have to get back to try some other items. The Tezca-branded tall can beer is excellent. The chocolate and caramel churros are simply delicious. It s small and popular, so make a reservation.

We heard about this place opening last time we were in Cobourg. It is amazing! The tapas and dips were a good size and the the two cocktails ( El Diablo & Jalpeno Margarita) and they were so tasty. And the couple Tequila shots we got were very good as well. Thanks Mike for the awesome service we will be back. Update 2024 I went by with a few buddies and it was even better than before! I love this place!

The atmosphere alone makes it worthwhile to come here. The food and customer service was amazing.

Arrived at 6pm on a Friday evening. Restaurant was very hot inside so we decided to sit on the street patio. It was busy/loud and the patio furniture was uncomfortable and wobbly table. The fish & chicken tacos were very authentic and tasty. I am a light eater and never finish a restaurant portion, but I finished it all (even though we had no cutlery and I had to go hunt for a napkin). It would have been nice to have something on the side other than a great variety of delicious hot sauces. These tacos served from a food truck would be killer!

I had an opportunity to dine at Tezca this evening and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The patio was tidy and comfortably fit our party of four. The food was incredible and matched evenly by the wonderful, attentive service provided by our server. A special thank you to the Tezca team, I will definitely be returning and recommending your restaurant to all.

We love tacos and really wanted to love this place but it was disappointing to say the least. Dry, flavourless chicken, grainy tasting tortillas, overpriced for small portions. Service was terrible, waitstaff rude and dismissive. Cocktails were decent and atmosphere was okay, but food and service were terrible.

We came here for lunch on Saturday of a long weekend. This place was busy and for good reason. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the patio was the perfect place to relax and the food was out of this world! My only note to guests is this place isn t fast food, which is exactly what we were looking for. If you are in a rush, get the food to go.

Absolutely amazing place! I attended a friends 50th birthday let me tell you the food was fabulous, the drinks were delicious and the decor is totally my style Im a skull lover tho lol I highly recommend checking them out the next time youre craving a taco!

Went for the first time yesterday. I loved the ambiance and the food was excellent I had the carnita and fish tacos. Very fresh and delicious and the dessert doughnuts were the icing on the evening. Service attentive and timely. Will definitely be back.

Kind of a spiffy place for tacos. Liked the decor, good service and the tacos were interesting and quite good. Limited menu but if you are in the mood for tacos I would highly recommend.
