Cozy atmosphere and rustic decor, wide selection of local craft beer and creative cocktails and delicious food, all prepared in a n open kitchen. Vegetarian options: They have quite a few vegetarian options, my favourite being the roasted vegetable sandwich!

Such a hidden gem! We are from out of town and so we planned a beach day in Cobourg on my birthday. After the beach we were ready for a meal and a couple cold drinks so we did a quick google search and George & Orange popped up. As this restaurant was highly rated we decided to give it a shot and am I ever glad we did! The atmosphere was great. The service was excellent. The drinks were incredible and the food was absolutely perfectly executed. Everything was prepared brilliantly and absolutely everything we had was just so good. The drinks were cold and fresh. The guacamole and pico appetizer was delicious, the main courses were amazing and even the crème brûlée was perfectly prepared with the sweet hard shell over the creamy custard. Thank you for a fantastic dining experience! I highly recommend. You won t find anything better in Cobourg.

We were visiting Cobourg and stopped by this spot around dinner for drinks and a snack. We had such a bummer of an experience. It wasn t clear to me that it s not a place that is kid friendly so I wish I would ve known in advance and we would ve gone elsewhere. We ordered the chips with guacamole and pico and maybe it s an off menu item but it was a waste of money unfortunately- chips were stale, guacamole was super under seasoned and pico was majority onions. Just giving a heads up that this isn t a spot to bring kids despite there being picnic tables and maybe avoid that one dish.

One of our fav go to s - fab atmosphere - I bring all my friends and family here when they are in town - lots of space for my nieces to run around the extended patio picnic tables and not bother those inside or on the main deck. Great food and service!

Came for my birthday dinner with loved ones. Fresh and delish oysters, coconut shrimp and caprese salad. Had the beef filet for mains and my daughter the salmon. Food and service was beyond my expectations. Nice touch with the complementary creme brulee for dessert. Highly recommended A++

This is my wife s review. I brought my sister here, as we were staying overnight in Cobourg. I have been here a number of times in my travels through the area. This place NEVER disappoints EVER! Small, quaint and the food is incredible! I have done a lot of travelling and the food here is exceptional. Erin, our bartender was pleasant and super informative and a delight to be around. Highly recommend this establishment

Just recently moved to Cobourg and have been waiting for G&O to come back from their winter closing for a while now so I was very quick to book a table as soon as I knew they would open for spring/summer season. I was not disappointed at all! Service was quick and friendly, Mocktails were fantastic, food was delicious with generous portions and the ambiance was very cozy. Thank you, Erin (our server) and the kitchen staff for 10/10 experience. Will be coming back and telling friends about it.

Everything on the menu is delicious. Tonight, I had the parmesaean chicken sandwich. Delicious! My favourite is still the Gorgonzola apple and walnut flatbread. Service is excellent. Erin is amazing. The cab sauv is smooth. This is our go-to place for dinner. Or to drop in for an evening beverage. Non alcoholic cocktails, too.

My fiancé and I came here for our anniversary and it was the warmest and most welcoming spot! I had the braised beet salad (minus the cheese due to allergies) and the roasted vegetable sandwich. The fiancé said this place made him want to eat salmon more. We both agreed this was the most soulful meal we ve had in a while. We will return! So this is a tiny spot with a small parking lot and a mini bathroom. Ok, now on to the service and food! Our server was a joy. We didnt feel rushed at all (even though we took too long to order while chatting, and stayed for a very long lunch). I had the Apple & Gorgonzola flatbread, the Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle and an Americano. Everything was exceptional. I am very much over restaurants over charging for mediocre food so I was thrilled with George & Orange. Such interesting textures and flavours. Everything cooked to perfection. I have been craving that pasta dish since! Even my coffee was better than any chain and most independent cafes Ive been too. Rich, creamy, amazing. I cant wait to return and I highly recommend you check this place out if you want great service and fantastic food in a casual, comfy environment.

I have a great time eating in or ordering take out as the food always hits the spot when you need it to. I love the chicken burger, potato wedges, Caesar salad, shrimp & grits! Great cocktail menu. I look forward to trying more options this summer.

Always friendly and personable service. Great food and drink, however not inexpensive. Its not out of line for the area, just be prepared. We love the brussel sprouts and the flat breads. The cocktails are interesting and beer is crafty...a local place supporting local producers. Its a must stop for a Saturday stroll through downtown Cobourg.

Came from out of town and stopped in for a drink shortly after 10pm. Apparently this place does last call for drinks at 10pm.. And the girl who told this to me and my fiance when we showed up had a garbage attitude. For being a small spot it doesnt make sense. We decided to spend our money at a better bar down the road with the same closing time. They were able to serve me two drinks in that last 45 minutes, crazy!!! This place should probably rethink how they run their business. *In response to the owner, last call should not be an hour before your closing time for any bar or restaurant. Thank you, take care!!

Drinks were tasty, charcuterie was good. Burger was underwhelming, it was fine but the bun was dry and patties overcooked. Side potatoes were great!

Great spot just off the main strip. The Chef has a great ability to balance citrus / spice for some great contrast re: Coconut Lime Shrimp. Mixology is top tier in Northumberland. (Campari Sodi e spettacolare ) Northumberland is lucky to have a longstanding restaurant that still shines. Well done G&O. 10/10.

We wish we d discovered this place sooner. The cocktails (and mocktails!) were impeccable, the food was delicious Jenna was able to accommodate several meat eaters, a vegetarian and a dairy-free gluten-free diet all at one table. This was absolutely our favourite place in Cobourg, after spending over a week here trying out the local spots. Jenna fit us in at a moments notice (we were a group of 6) and the atmosphere broke our hearts because we were so upset we hadn t discovered it sooner!! Don t be sorry like us; head here as soon as you possibly can.

Walk 1 block from the main street and find a wonderful treat! We had dinner at George and Orange. We sat outside on a lovely evening. The food was amazing. We will definitely return when we are in Coburg again. The trio of dips and the Southwest Sandwich were so tasty!

I think if someone doesnt like wasps, they should hide in their homes during wasp season, and not try to squeeze free stuff out of a small family business. Im severely allergic to bee and wasp stings and Ill pull a wasp out of my drink and finish it before Id try to get a free drink and then slam a wonderful small business on Google. My partner and I have loved coming to George & Orange since moving to Northumberland County several years ago. Its a cozy spot with a great atmosphere, and delicious food and drinks. The staff are always lovely and accommodating, and the business itself is very community-oriented and supportive of other locally-owned businesses. If youre looking for great drinks and eats, this is the place. Of youre a shrimp person, 100% order the coconut shrimp.

Their handcrafted drinks are so so so good. Every time I go there is something different and exciting happening, you can tell that Jennas heart and soul goes into every detail. You will fall in love with George and Orange after just one visit.

G&O is one of our favourite restaurants and when we get a chance to eat out we often pick this place! The drinks are delicious (sangria is my go-to fave but also love the margaritas!) and the food is even better! I HIGHLY recommend the chicken parm sandwich and the Gorgonzola flat bread two of my faves!

I enjoyed G&Os friendly atmosphere, homemade eats a couple weeks ago and am disappointed that I never posted a review until now! If I had a bee/wasp allergy, Id probably avoid the patio that has some beautiful and clearly visible flower displays on it. Flowers are known to attract bees, in my experience. I have a peanut allergy and I know the risks I take by eating out, but Im not about to ask for a refund if a restaurant tells me they cant guarantee anything.

My husband and I are retired and always look forward to our dinners out at George and Orange, it has the feel of a little boutique bistro and I really feel like we have gotten away somewhere special, the food is always lovely and staff so welcoming, we love how theyve been able to adapt to the stupid constraints of covid, and so happy they are still able to be here to feed us. We love local businesses.

Easily my favourite dining experience in Cobourg! I absolutely love going to this adorable little hole in the wall (especially after a long day at work) for a homemade black bean burger and a glass of wine (or 3). The food is amazing, and the service is fast and oh so friendly.

I ate there last night Sept 18th...the food portions are very limited for the price that you pay...you have to wait awhile for your food to be served...and honestly my wife and I felt kind of sick afterwards... service from the waitresses were good... not returning

We were enticed because of the chili cook-off and found the food to be excellent at the resto- no gimmicks, nice selection and perfectly cooked. I would love to remember when its open as it is out of sight and forgotten about - if you post a weekly menu We will come ;)

Unique find in Coburg. Once you step inside you feel like your are in a completely different city. Speakeasy wooden interior vibe inside. Small menu, but absolutely delicious items. It was very difficult to choose which meal I wanted. Chef really knows what they are doing. Great craft/local beers on tap and tasty unique cocktails. I saved a name of a brewery to seek out the beer for future purchase. Too bad they arent open Monday or Tuesday. See you next time!
