Food always great as well as service!

Service was good. Portions were very large, including the Grandstand and Hungry Man combos.

Nice place to go for all day breakfast. Our favourite and only place we got for breakfast. Kid-friendliness: High-Chairs and lots of options for kids

I recently ordered veggie benedict from this restaurant and was disappointed with my meal. The shered potato was extremely oily, and taste of hollandiase sause had a bad taste! Additionally, the meal didnt taste fresh at all.

Amazing service, good took five minutes to come out. Ladies were super friendly! Would recommend.

The only reason I am putting a 4-star instead of a 5-star is that my poached eggs came with too much water in the little bowl which ruined the yolk. It turned soupy. And they put way too much butter on the toast. But otherwise, the food was wonderful. My friend had a perfect breakfast. The staff was wonderfully inviting and the prices were good. A truly lovely place, I would come again.

Easy, quality, affordable breakfasts. Think of your favorite breakfast chain, increase the quality of ingredients, control the portion size so youre not wasting food but still feel full, and hide it away in a small quiet corner of a quiet retail complex. Service is friendly, great spot for locals, and they love what they do, it shows in their food.

Absolutely delicious breakfast! I was traveling through the area and on a limp I needed breakfast & decided to try this place. Best decision ever! It s cheap and the food still isn t worth it. The hollandaise sauce on their eggs bennie was watery, cold, and made me sick. The service was the saving grace however, Our waitress was great.

Great experience, original and unique in a great way, great food

Second side of hollandaise sauce was also just warmer then room temperature , and already congealed. Told it could not be warmer or it would cook the egg. BS have had Egg ben in all kinds of restaurants an this was my first, though it tasted great the temperature made it not enjoyable.

The food was good but the staff and the service are so baaaaaaad! Once I finished the food they handed me the bill, I did not ask the waiter for it!!! This not acceptable at all!!!! You can go there only if you want to have a breakfast in 10 mins!!!

First time visitor to Home Plate even though it has been in Cobourg for over 30 years. Never found the time to drop in, but I finally did. Had the breakfast special and hot tea. Friendly staff, prompt service, very tasty breakfast, tea was properly made & hot and great price. Will be going back soon to try other items. Lots of regulars so you know people keep coming back.

The staff and food was very nice. A little pricey, but everywhere is at the moment. Overall, Id put the staff first, the food, then the atmosphere. They also had a very diverse breakfast menu, which was nice.

I just read this review from someone else; mine was the same but I was basically told I was a liar! This is a review from 3 months ago!!! However the eggs Benedict my girlfriend ordered was much to be desired. The hollandaise was white in color, tasted like flour, gritty in texture and and no flavor. I think the recipe needs to be modified! I was told there was nothing wrong with the hollandaise sauce( obviously there is as this customer had the same experience)and was made to pay for half - I found the whole thing inedible- but was told it was my problem- whatever happened to customer service- guess thats why the place was empty! Will.not be returning!

We have, on several occasions, the great experience of both in door dining and more so now take out food with the lockdowns. The management are eager to make sure the homemade meals are of top quality and still remaining at a palatable price point. Highly recommended for dine in (when we can!) and take out for individual orders or large functions.

My visit to Home Plate not disappoint. Courteous, friendly staff. Very welcoming upon arrival we were seated quickly and with appropriate verbal interaction. Just as we were deciding what to order our Server was right there to take our drink order. Since 2 of us were indecisive on what we wanted he took the rest of the tables order and gave us a moment to make our choices. Returning with our drinks he noticed I still undecided. Very professionally he assisted me in making a choice. We were served our food very expedientr and efficiently. Which by the way was simply delicious and plentiful. Breakfast was a Grand Slam Home Run. Definitely a great breakfast spot to return to again and again and well again. If you havent been go and if you have been its time to go back.

Every single time my husband and I come here we order egg Bennie and it comes out different, but not in a good way. Zero consistency. The hollandaise sauce was white (not yellow), it was so runny and about a 3 cups poured on top of the eggs it soaked up my home fries (a couple potatoes wedges, not actually home fries). The coffee is weak and watered down. We ordered a side of bacon and got 3 tiny shrivelled up pieces of low quality bacon. We ate what we could because we were so hungry when we got there. We didn t feel comfortable complaining to our waitress because 1. Who would even deliver the food looking like that, clearly they didn t see a problem and 2. The place is so tiny everyone dining it would hear and we saved ourselves the embarrassment, paid out $50 bill for two and left. We will never go back and absolutely no not recommend. I m perplexed.

The service was impeccable! This is the first restaurant in years Ive been to that I was attended to very quickly! No waiting on my bill or anything for that matter! Food was quite good! Perogies are awesome!

Food is great, prices are good, service is good. My wife and I have made Home Plate our go-to place for weekend breakfasts/brunch. Their All Day Every day Special is loaded for the best price around. The rest of their menu is great too. Good portions for a good price. Food is always cooked right and tastes great. I dont think Ive ever had to send something back to the kitchen. Prices are good. Things are still pretty competitive to other places around town. Service is good. Servers are pretty attentive, even when its busy. Parking: Lots of parking out front. Theres a few other stores so the lot is quite big. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is ground level. Single front door means a larger wheelchair may have issues fitting through.

I loved this place the workers are so friendly and very aware of customer service. I went on Tuesday and was served an amazing meal! And had one of the best if the best waiters so far! I recommend homeplate!

I cant stop going to this place. Being active in and around the cobourg area and being a huge lover of breakfast food, Im always on the hunt for a new brunch/breakfast spot. This is my spot. For me it sits in that niche where its not too pricey, but its checks all the boxes. The breakfast fare is not too greasy, but very tasty. Home fries are spot on, which Ive also found few places do it well, although if you dont like them deep fried you might want to go elsewhere. The service is always friendly and really fast... Kudos to Stacy who practically lives there and is always a joy to run into. The place is also clean and modern with the relatively new reno(its been 2 yrs now.. So not really). Overall this is the breakfast spot in cobourg and I cant recommend it highly enough. I just hope it doesnt get too crowded...

We had a family lunch take out and we were so happy with our food. The portions are huge and everything was made and packaged with care. We tried the pulled beef poutine, Buffalo chicken Mac n cheese, ceased wrap, bruschetta wrap. Everything was super nice.

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! The classic burger is so tasty! Homemade patties, great ingredients. Buffalo chicken wrap has homemade sauce that makes is so delicious! And vegan chocolate ice-cream force you to come again and again

Best home fries in Cobourg, maybe even all of Northumberland. Their hollandaise was awesome and certainly know their way around cooking an egg. Would recommend to any who has yet to try this awesome, friendly and wholesome restaurant.

Waited over an hour for our food, waiter came out and told us they forgot us. Never offered to bring us our food just stated the coffee was free.

cold eggs, missing Sausages

I was at this Restuarant on August 21, 2021. First our waitress was amazing ( older woman who was newer and checked on things for us).We were there celebrating my daughters birthday and because they arevegsn I called and asked about food. I was yold on the phone -no problem, girl on phone was also vegan, going on to tell me about this breakfast -vegan sausages, grilled or bake assortment of vegetables, grilled in canola oil or vegan marg. Potatoes with onion, toast woth vegan marg. Sounded good right.My daughterwent on and on their site so wraps .A before not making anymore wrap. My problem was the did not have any of these things not even marg.They served they the vegan hamburger patties as sauage pstyies and over charged us for deep fried shredded potatoes that were tiny pieces and like pototoe chips .When I cslled to talkto owner she said Take her number I will call back later but she never did and so I called again but nothing. Dont advertise something you dont have.

Amazing foods, amazing newish restaurant with a gorgeous look. The staff are fantastic and we walked in as a table of 11 at 9 on a saturday and the wait was just long enough to push the tables together. The food was quick and ohhhhhh so good. I tried the January special that was eggs benny on cheese sticks. Yummmmmmmmmmmers.

Stopped in for a late lunch and I think they were mad we did. Had a burger that was burned (!) and they used disinfectant to wash the floor while we were eating. Couldnt leave fast enough.

Ordered a veggie bennie - vegetables were cold and hollandaise sauce was thin, whitish-yellow and did not taste good at all. Coffee was mediocre. The only highlight was the home fries! I would not return - overpriced for what it is.

First time out to eat since this pandemic started. It was great! The food was as wonderful as I remember. The tables are spaced out nicely (we ate inside). The service was excellent. In my opinion, Home Plate is doing an amazing job of keeping their customers safe in their restaurant during this new way of life we are living.

Worst breakfast my daughter and I have ever had. It was completely cold and nothing about it was good. Staff was not very welcoming either. Should have known to turn around by the way we were treated at the door.

Two days ago, my aunt treated my Uncle, Nana, and I to brunch at this place. I tell you: The food I tasted was delicious. Would I come back again? Yes. I will, and by the way, the service was great.

The staff was very unpleasant and the food was not as good as what i thought. I was hoping when i walked in it would be a good morning, i work in customer service. I know good service, but from the moment we walked in it was a terrible experience.

I visited Home Plate with my friend for breakfast and was very pleased with my experience. The food was fresh, hot and delicious and the service was excellent. This is a great breakfast or brunch spot for the whole family and I would highly recommend.

The food is very good and generous portions. With the high industrial ceilings it was very hard to have a chat with my elderly friend. Also people in Cobourg need to lighten up -I pulled into the handicapped spot to pick up my 85 year old passenger and some jerk is yelling at me Wheres your handicapped sticker? I might go again to this restaurant but not with a senior.

This restaurant is the best for breakfast and lunch hands down! My fiance and i eat here often and the squash and kale hash is a lifesaver. I dont usually eat out due to allergies but i have never had a problem here. Excellent vegan menu choices too!

Very fast service, great food, and knowledgeable staff. The menu is fantastic for people on all types of diet restrictions as well.

While I was there a young couple was made feel very uncomfortable because the server could not figure out how to ring in two pancakes instead of 3 on the iPad. Whole seating area was available but chose to sit them on a small table next to ours. Felt like we were eating breakfast together we were so close. We could feel the persons discomfort while she was told how difficult she was making it for the server. The couple said after the server left how uncomfortable they were. Nobody should be made to feel this way while they visit your restaurant.

Always my place to go when in the Cobourg area. Really great price and gluten free options. Service is quick and friendly.
