Editing my review because years later this place still impresses me. Everything is so fresh. Staff are lovely. This place is a gem! I had the Italian sandwich and it was to die for. Hands down the best Italian sandwich in town! Worth every penny.

Food is delicious sure. Is it cost effective no. $16 for a small bowl of stew is bananas

Love the new location on King Street in Cobourg. Cool vibe and great food.. Appreciate the opportunity to pick up Prep meals and Happenstance bread when I stop in for a coffee and a treat. Welcome back to downtown!

Yesterday was the best day of our lives because of Zak & the Prep Food Co. catering team. We got so many compliments about every aspect from cocktail hour to the dinner - everything was above and beyond. Prep food co. is also a staple in our day to day lives - every dish we ve tried has been an absolute home run. Could not recommend enough.

Great place with healthy prepared poke bowls, wraps and more. We came all the way from the Netherlands to try this and its great!

I have recently relocated to Cobourg and was VERY happy when I discovered this hidden little gem within walking distance to where I am temporarily staying!! Being plant based it is sometimes hard to find pre-made food that is not only nutritious but also delicious....but no concerns here!! The Prep Food Company hits both markers for me and besides the yummy, great sized servings of fresh food, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and convenience and the genuinely friendly staff and cute atmosphere are the cherry on top for me!! My 3 year old son LOVES the vegan cookies and Mediterranean wrap and they have become a weekly treat for us both Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian/vegan options including desserts Dietary restrictions: Many gluten/dairy/egg/soy free options

If you are ever looking for someone to cater your wedding or gathering, look no further then Prep Food! We had the fancy feist catered dinner and it was beyond compare, the sauces for the chicken and filet were amazing. All of the guests commented on how it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. Not only was the food good, the staff especially Zak, were extremely helpful. Leading up the event Zak helped me think about all the details a wedding consists of. Having a personal touch really made me feel ready when the day arrived. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you Zak and the team for creating a memorable experience for us!

Went to my local Foodland and bought the Tomato Basil Bocconcini Penne and cooked it for dinner last night. Went back today and bought out the rest. Two thumbs up, 10/10, 5 Star, a must have!!!!!!

I adore Prep Food Co! Their lunch options are absolutely amazing (my personal favourite is the Tuna Poke Bowl!), and the frozen dinner options are so easy to prepare and delicious (so perfect for busy nights)! The staff are wonderful and so friendly. Cant say enough good things about Prep!

The Food Prep Co. is such an incredible company to work with! I hosted a bachelorette party in the area and the Food Prep Co. catered all of our meals for the weekend. They were extremely responsive and easy to communicate with while planning the menus for the weekend. They were very helpful and accommodating of the groups dietary restrictions, which is so comforting! They took all of the stress out of planning food for our weekend. Their delivery was timely and everything came perfectly prepped and packed with clear instructions. They provided everything we could have possibly needed to enjoy their delicious food. Everything we tried was flavourful, delicious and cooked perfectly but do yourself a favour and get their brisket!! It is quite honestly the best thing I have ever tasted and everyone in the group was going for seconds and thirds. The Food Prep Co. had us fed and happy all weekend. Their pricing is also very reasonable! I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy their food on a regular basis!

I have subscribed to meal delivery during the pandemic, had them cater my husband s birthday, bought meals for camping and girls cottage wknd as well as just popping in for a poke bowl for lunch. The food is amazing and fresh and it is good for you. Zach and his team are top notch and I highly recommend Prep Food Co for whatever your occasion may be.

Unfortunately they didnt have a poke bowl but the worker was extremely nice and gave me a free pretzel

Prep has quickly become my go-to for meals. Their products are fresh, healthy and oh the taste! I am dazzled that they cater to all food regimes with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. And yes, I do keep coming back because the food is superb but what makes this place very special is the customer service. Everyone I ve encountered on their team is friendly, educated about their products and genuinely interested in ensuring you leave with what you need. If you haven t titillated your tongue by their menu yet you must!

I attended a function catered by Prep Food Co. I ate/tasted almost everything and my ribs were creaking by the time I left. All of the appetizers (reg and vegan) were so tasty. Ill come to your store to buy that wonderful mustard. Loved the meatballs and the vegan meatballs, sliders, and charcuterie! Great food! Ill book your company for my next get-together. Thank you!

Just Ordered a bunch of sandwiches from the lunch menu and they were AMAZING! The chicken bacon really good sure lives up to its name! We will be ordering from there again soon!

The service was great. Vary friendly people. I didnt get any food kits. But I will be. They look really good. Plus, its a pretty good variety. I did get a sandwich that was quite tasty, plus a really good butter tart.

Their food is amazing ! We cater all our film shoots from them and there is always something for everyone to eat . They take allergies into consideration as well ! Highly recommend them .

My mom and I stopped here for lunch today. We both chose the roasted vegetable bowl and it was the best bowl we ve ever had! (And we ve had a lot of bowls) The combination of ingredients was unique and unexpected but worked so well together. The dressing was amazing and we purchased some to bring home as well as some other salads that we are so excited to try. The service was very friendly and welcoming. We are not from the area, but hope to come again someday on another road trip. 11/10!

I was extremely impressed with the quality and ease of their pre-made meals. It is my favourite places to grab dinner options before heading to the cottage. Last time I tried the burgers and burger sauce and it was perfect! ***chefs kiss*** I also love to grab their shepherds pie when I need to bring food to a friend. Highly recommend!

Always a fantastic experience with their catering! Delicious sliders, burritos, sandwiches, and variety of salads. They find a way to make vegetables and healthier options incredibly tasty! Excellent breakfast selection too, all presented beautifully. Zak and Michelle and their team are always right on time, so professional and great to work with.

I am glad I found this food store locally. I ordered 1 dozen of chicken sliders for my daughters birthday party and picked them up at their store. Their store was very calming, neat and organized. They also serve fresh foods and well made with fresh ingredients. I tried to purchased their pre-made sesame chicken and when I heated it up in the pan the sesame chicken tastes so good. I will definitely be a repeat customer here.

Picture this, Im taking a long drive in the rain, pitch dark cause of time change, with 2 kids crying in the car. All I need to make my day is some of Grandma Carols BTs. I make the stop and am greeted to the most kind woman who goes out of her way to make my experience great and even treats my LOs to a cookie. VERY happy I stopped, and my family said it was the best butter tarts theyve ever had. A must stop for sure!

Went for the first time today and it definitely will not be my last. All staff were very professional, friendly and definitely made us feel welcomed. The food is amazing, fresh products and made right in front of you. I have heard people use the expression flavors just burst in my mouth and never really experienced that until now.

Who gets 5 stars? These guys do and deserve it+ fresh, local, prepared for you and priced appropriately- best take-out I ve had for a long time. Did I mention delicious and generous servings. The meal kit is everything I didn t know I needed. I like how I can just order from a list of homemade food online and wait for it to show up on my doorstep! You just throw the meals in the fridge and then heat in the microwave when you re hungry. It s not that expensive either! Cheaper than spending how ver much on groceries that will go to waste yay for getting rid of food waste! Also it s SO yummy and I think relatively good for you with the seasonal veggies. Good job prep Thanks for making my life easier.

We joined the meal kit membership 1 month ago. We order 3 recipes a week and have been WOW d with each meal. They are so easy to reheat, the quality is amazing, and we re getting a full square meal with each selection. The portions are generous, most 2 portion meals feed 2 adults dinner with enough leftovers for 1 lunch. I honestly can t rave about Prep Food Co enough. Very different from other meal kits on the market, in the best way. Friendly prompt service always. I forgot to mention, the meals you receive are very consciously packaged. The bags they come in are paper, so they are recyclable. The containers the food comes in are to be washed, and left in your cooler bag for your next weeks pickup/drop off day. For me this is extremely important, as other meal kit companies create a lot of extra waste. Thank you for taking the stress out of dinner a few nights a week.

Everything is homemade and amazing! The Cuban sandwich is big enough to share and served on a freshly baked in-house baguette with homemade pickles! I love the tuna poke bowl - available with a low carb option using shredded cabbage instead of rice. The tuna was perfect..super fresh and tossed in a delicious Miso dressing. Excellent opportunity for quality take out in Cobourg!

If you feel like you need some colour, flavour and overall an explosion of life in your food, do your tastebuds a favour and never deprive them of Prep Food Co.! This is a great place to pick up a delicious lunch or dinner. Recently opened by a young, local chef, it also offers catering services. Weve already been here twice and have thoroughly enjoyed the food, including a Poke bowl. Check out the online menu. You wont be disappointed. And when you pick up your food, dont forget to pick up a jar or two of their very delicious sauces and salsas.

Tried on Saturday for the first time. I just had the perfect sandwich called the Cuban. Incredible, baked in house baguette. Also tried the shrimp taco, one word delicious. For sure will order again.

The tacos are amazing, the Cuban sandwich is the best sandwich in town, The tuna poke(po-Kay) bowl is insanely delicious. It is an at least once a week experience in my household. The staff is fun, the vibe is hip. The prices are great and the portions are big! Make a plan to get your Prep on this weekend!

Fantastic vegetarian fare and very friendly service! Weve had the cauliflower tacos and the beet poke bowl a couple of times, plus the in-house hot sauce. Delicious fresh food and fantastic price! Hoping for another veggie option or two, but this is pretty darn good for Cobourg. As a bonus, no plastic or tin foil in the packaging! All recyclable or compostable.

I decided to support Zak and his fabulous team for my dads birthday this year. It was an amazing experience ordering from Timmins, ON and having my mom pickup the next day. We even had accommodations for an earlier pickup with no complaints or frustration from them at all. Amazing service, and very happy my family could enjoy this taco prep kit at their home with simple instructions and super fresh/delicious ingredients. . Now I need to try for myself when I m back! Prep Food Co. catered our wedding and wholly smokes was it the right choice - BBQ pun intended. Our only regret is that we should have danced a little less so we could have eaten A LOT more. The menu was superb. Our guests will be talking about those sliders for times to come! And we couldn t have asked for better people (staff) to mingle food into our amazing night - they intuitively knew right when to bring an exciting new tray around the corner (chicken tacos, pulled pork sliders, burger sliders, etc, etc, etc). 10/10 overall.
