Really good quality of sushi!

The salmon sushi was so fresh and tender. Everything was made with great care and super fresh ingredients.

Every bite was a delight. The shrimp tempura was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Lots of veggie options and the staff are incredibly friendly & welcoming

Just ordered take out for the first time. Very friendly and so much amazing food (I might have overdid it, lesson learned!). I will be back!!

Came here on a Saturday night as all the reviews were great, and after our experience, you could tell they were well deserved. The food was very hit, quickly prepared, and some of the best Japanese dishes weve had in a long time. No wait to get a table, the tea selection was great, and there were so many wonderful dishes to choose from. We enjoyed Gyoza, a selection of sushi and tempura and beef teriyaki. Will definitely be back as the menu was quite extensive, and we are curious to try Korean cuisine, which is also offered here.

Very cool restaurant with the best sushi in town. Staff is always friendly. The inside is very cool as it isnt your typical sushi restaurant its got LED lights and some neat wall decorations. I enjoy eating inside but often pick up to go with no issues.

My 7 month old son has a dairy/soy allergy which means I had to cut out dairy/soy as well. Sakura was so accommodating and kind to make sure that none of our food contained either. We have had different experiences at other restaurants where it wasn t taken seriously or restaurants were inconvenienced by the allergy. Sakura went so far as to call us back after we called in an order because they saw that we had a soy allergy on their file and some of the sushi contained soy. It meant so much to us and this type of service will have us coming back weekly. The food is always delicious (lots of vegetarian options) and the service is great. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian sushi, specialty rolls, appetizers, soups Dietary restrictions: Soy free, dairy free

The food presentation was wonderful, with very friendly and accommodating staff. The food came quickly, fresh, hot and was impeccably delicious. Im a regular customer, so they know my first name and my choice of my favourite go-to orders. My favorites are vegetarian tempura lunch special, and the vegetable dolsot Bibimbap! Vegetarian options: I absolutely love their vegetable bento lunch special. It comes with hot miso soup, a dumpling, Maki rolls, rice, salad and a generous amount of delicious assorted vegetable tempura. This is my go-to order which they always remember and recommend for me!

Narrow but deep restaurant.. old building and a lot of 3 or 4 panel screens to divide tables. The menu was fairly large, a lot of options for just about every taste. I had the bulgagi ramnen. It was a little sweet with a nice heat and the beef was very tender.. tuna tataki was incredible, very nice texture and great flavor and added about 4 varieties of rolls (of course this was a shared experience!) All were very fresh and wonderful blends of flavores and textures. Presentation was nice.

Fantastic experience! I arrived with my kids for lunch and wasnt aware we had arrived just before they close, but they still cheerfully accommodated us. They absolutely love kids here and its kid friendly from special plates to chopsticks to desserts you can tell they love kids. The food itself was fantastic and expertly prepared. The caterpillar roll was a work of art. The decorations and atmosphere are really fun too. This is a great family friendly sushi place and we will be back many times. Thank you so much Sakura! Surprisingly good but the servers forgot everyone in the restaurant water. For a town mostly known for just burger places and ice cream the sushi is genuinely really good. The ramen is choice as well.

We got lunch take out when were at the beach. Really good sushi and good experience. I placed the order over the phone and the guy who took my order was so friendly and cool. Even when I picked up the order he was sweet. The sushi was good. We had it at the beach. I missed taking a picture of the tray.

My friend and I loved our lunch experience at Sakura Sushi on Cobourgs main Street. We both had the lunch combo with Chicken Teriyaki: best tempura veggies! A great variety amd perfect crispyness. The rest was artfully presented and very delicious.

Best sushi restaurant ever.

This is the best place for Asian food Ive ever been to. Not only are their dishes gorgeous and prepared with such love and care, they themselves are so kind to each and every customer. They always remember who you are, and they are just so warm and friendly. On top of ALL THAT, they even give out Christmas gifts as a sign of their appreciation and just over all care!!.. I walked away the other day with my meal (that I was having all by myself that night,) and I felt genuinely grateful; opening my carefully prepared supper and the sweets they gave me. My Christmas felt a little less lonely-- just like that. I will always love and support this business and most importantly the people running it.

This was my first time going to Sakura Sushi and it was terrible. The pricing is way too much for what you get. The rolls are tiny with barely anything in them. Not only are the rolls not good - the wait is ridiculous. The shrimp tempura was literally panko crumbs and not actual tempura which was very disappointing. Waited over 40 mins for our rolls and then another 40 mins just for soup. I wouldn t recommend anyone going here. Sadly, probably the worst sushi and service I ve ever had.

Second time here and both times its been spectacular, the staff is always nice and very accommodating, and the sushi was excellent! Others at our table had teriyaki another entree and both enjoyed it. Will definitely return again

Love going here for lunch or dinner. Service is great and youre always greeted with a smile. Not the cheapest place around but I am ok with that due to the quality of the food.

Read another review and decided to go there .and I was astonished (like the other reviewer said)! Service was great, drinks were unique and awesome .and we were all served our sushi on boats!!! I have never had such great presentation for individual sushi orders. Will definitely return next time I m in town.

Waste of money. Got the beef bento box for $20 plus tax and there was next to no meat and the meat that was there was 85% fat. Also, the beef was supposed to be served on a bed of vegetables, but they should just say bed of cabbage cause that s all it was. Won t be returning.

I was excited to try this food after reading the reviews and seeing the high ratings. Due to lockdown restrictions they offered only take out. There was a 45 minute prep time after placing my order which I felt was too long. Upon pick up all the staff was suuuper friendly. Full points for them there. I enjoyed everything I ordered except the sushi and sashimi, which of course was meant to be the main attraction. The gyoza dumplings, green salad and wakame were all tasty but as far as the sushi was concerned: the fish was not fresh. Overall it tasted very much like something one would get in a gas station convenience store. Disappointing, but having said that I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that sales are slower during lock down resulting in lack of freshness of the product. I will try them again when things return to normal. Wishing all small businesses the best during this difficult time.

Amazing food. Went there for lunch today and was extremely satisfied. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous when I called and on pick up and the food was all together really delicious. Im excited to go there to dine in after covid to get everything fresh!

Look no further sushi lovers! A big thing for me is how sushi rice is cooked- they have the best portion of rice to roll, perfectly made rice, fresh ingredients and you definitely feel the love and passion in their food. This family owned restaurant checks all the boxes. My absolute fav is spicy tuna, the sushi butterfish and tuna (red) and avocado roll. Simple but delicious. I ve tried almost every roll and item on their menu, which is extensive! And would say with confidence you will like any one you pick. To put it into context on how much we love this place- it is a 45min drive away and we try to make it a weekly stop. Thank you Jennifer & Kelvin & your wonderful staff for all of your hard work.

The chicken Katsu was nicely breaded and drizzled with a slightly sweet sauce that was very tasty. Sorry, gobbled it all up before I remembered to take a photo!

We just spent the long weekend here and wanted to try a sushi restaurant, and Sakura sushi really impressed us! The udon and tempura are really yummy, so as the sushi. We also love the wasabi a lot since the wasabi we usually can get from other sushi restaurants only tastes spicy and strong but nothing else, while their wasabi tastes really fresh, also a little bit sweet, and quite refreshing which bring extra flavor to the sushi highly recommend!

What a wonderful Sakura experience today. We picked up our lunches, and then went down to the promenade and had a sushi picnic. Sakura is such a wonderful restaurant, and the owners, Jennifer and Kelvin are just the most delightful couple. This is one of Cobourg s great restaurants.

This place is my favorite and one of the best restaurants in Cobourg. At the first moment, you arrive in this restaurant the stuff gives you an agreeable feeling. The very courteous crew is a friendly restaurant to pass time with your friends or with your family. Food was great, Sushi here is Amazing! Fish is so fresh. Udon noodles, tempura are yummy. One of my favorites is Sashimi Bibimbap. This dish is absolutely next level with its flavors. Fresh sashimi, vegetables, rice with special spicy sauce. Yummy:D I highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return myself whenever in Cobourg again.

Their service is second to none, not only in their sushi field but in -any- restaurant anywhere in or out of town. The owners and staff treat each customer with such high dignity and respect, then back it up with far superior sushi and Japanese/Korean cuisine, that I deeply regret ever going anywhere else for the last 10 years, I should of shopped local. Their local pride is the stuff of professional restaurant dreams and as a customer Ill never go anywhere else for sushi!

We were driving from Montreal back to Toronto. We were 10 minutes away from Cobourg and I called in to for takeout. It was ready by the time we arrived. The customer service is amazing and the quality of the sushi is just fantastic. I will definitely be coming back here the next time I do that Montreal/Toronto drive.

My girlfriend and I went to Sakura to celebrate her birthday and enjoy a nice dinner. We have been to this establishment a few times and I must say everytime weve ate at Sakura we have really enjoyed the experience. The staff have to be the nicest staff in town, over the top nice and grateful for your presence in the restauraunt. The food is great as well, the prices are very affordable. Over-all I give them 5 stars. Will return and would also highly recommend.
