Went camping at Kettle Lakes and drove up to Cochrane to explore and have lunch. Angels place was a great choice! We ordered fried chicken and a double cheese burger along side with poutine. All of it was well made and tasted great! More importantly was the customer service. Wow, we were so welcomed and served well!
I have been working in Cochrane for the last two weeks and every time I asked a local where was a good place to eat, they said Angel’s. I went in with high expectations and I wasn’t disappointed . Top notch place. Very clean, food is fresh and the staff are very nice. Had a Whaat Burger and a small poutine. Filled the gap perfectly.
This review is specifically for Grand-Ma Express. The food and service were both absolutely amazing! I was pleasantly surprised as it is a small town I wasn’t expecting much when it comes to food as I am from the GTA. I ate there twice and both didn’t disappoint at all. I ordered burger and poutine twice and fried chicken ones. That fried chicken was out of this world! I can say it’s better than the major chains such as kfc, Jollibee, Popeyes, Mary browns to name some. It’s so juicy and not overly crispy and a thin layer of batter. The seasoning was just perfect, not overly salted and spiced. The burgers are better than some local joints in the GTA. If you’re looking for food recommendations for Cochrane, please stop by this little hidden gem! You will not be disappointed at all!

This is the definition of a hidden gem. Amazing fried chicken. We tried the chicken burgers, tenders and individual pieces and all of them were delicious. They also serve subs and pizza, which I'm sure are equally great. We ate here twice on our 24 stay in Cochrane and can't wait to come back. Good prices on convenience store items too. The only complaint is that the staff aren't wearing masks and don't enforce mask wearing for people coming in.
THEY TOAST THE BUN TO PERFECTION ON THE B-FAST SANDWICHES. I was blown away, and shall return.

This is one of those surprise restaurants you always think about. At first glance just a quick serve restaurant but the food has been 5 star for me ever time I go. One of the best fired chicken places. The Colonel should be worried :)

We were visiting Cochrane over the Canada day long weekend. This was the only local buisness open, which was fortunate for us. The owner was kind enough to start up the grill/ fryer for breakfast ( normally the breakfast menu isnt open on weekends.) The service was friendly and prompt and the food (bacon and egg sandwich with hashbrowns)was hot and very tasty. I highly recommend giving Angels a visit. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Would recommend stopping in for some chicken or a sub.
Superbe!! I had veggie pizza made with the Cauliflower crust and it was delicious and yummy. Great hospitality and lovely smiling cashier. Will be back again if I pass by Cochran next time.

This little gem has probably some of the best food in town! Pizzas are great, subs are FRESH (unlike subway ) chicken is JUICY and delicate but that CRISPY skin/breading is to die for!!!!!! Wings are plump little things and the staff! The staff are the most friendly, most personable, helpful, kind, generous people you will ever come across! The store/mart is kept well cleaned and organized ( even outside they sweep the sidewalk!!!! And NOBODY does that these days!!) The prices are reasonable, quality of the food is superb and man those fries are HEAVEN! Same with the gravy. If you go here for the first time, I recommend getting one of everything because you will not be disappointed!!
Excellent service and very accommodating staff. We wanted to order pizza for our dinner , on our return trip from Moosonee. even though the Pizza place was closed after 9PM they managed to gave us option to pick up warm pizza around 10PM. Pizza was delicious. Recommend this place for anyone visiting Cochrane

Exceptional service! Love all of their food! Store has all the basics you need too! PS. Avoid local Subway at all cost, here the food is way better and fresh!

Definitely the best freaking fried chicken sandwich and fries Ive have in my life. Like no popeyes or kfc could possibly compare to it. Good price too! Ive paid double in Toronto for not even half as tasty!
