Were first nations Natives, and we came to eat here at Cochrane Alberta smittys and nobody served us and we waited for 20 mins to be seated and we just left , maybe train your employees to treat everyone with respect and not judge people, but I will pray for your employees thank you and stay safe, no Im sorry we wont be coming back, we didnt even get a smile there felt very uncomfortable with your employees sorry were the same its just our skin color is different treat us with respect and well treat you with respect THERE WAS OPEN TABLES THEY COULDVE SEATED US BUT ITS OK BUT STOP THE HATE, STOP RACISM,

Did a great job accommodating lots of sports teams. Still were quick and the food was good.

Service was atrocious and despite voicing our concerns several times no one seemed to care. My husband didn t get what he ordered, I got pancakes that were absolutely disgusting and could only eat one but due to the lack of any service we weren t able to correct the issues. Even sent a email to Smitty s with our experience and no one bothered to respond. For the price of eating out, save the hassle and just don t, at least don t at Smitty s Cochrane

The food and service was terrific. We were camping and needed a break from the rain. The omlette and has browns were excellent and the lovely owner said stay as long as you like, much appreciated.

My family enjoys having brunch on Sundays at this location. The staff is always friendly and tentative. Food is served fresh and hot. Were lucky to be served right away as the restaurant is always busy.

Absolutely brutal customer service. I called for a take out order and their phone had really bad static, and after I ordered I couldn t hear what the lady said. I politely said sorry I didn t hear what you just said and she just hung up on me. Normally love Smitty s for breakfast, but just can t stand rude people when there s no need for it

Great breakfast .

My boyfriend and I each got a skillet and they were inedible. They came out less than five minutes after we ordered and you could easily tell they had sat under the heat lamp for at least an hour. Dry and stale. Would not return. I love SMITTYS but this one is not good at all.

Thank you for the Great Service. The skillet was very tasty, crispy and very warm. I can tell it was freshly made from the grill. Thank you for understanding that I was in a rush and served my food to me within 5 to 10 mins.

First time and Im disappointed. 24 dollars for a New York steak, the steak was SMALL only little veggies and mash potatoes. Aside from that, it didnt even taste that good, Id prefer to cook it myself. Not even worth it, maybe my expectations was a little high but compared to Asian restaurants they have bigger portions with affordable price. But if your looking for something better maybe Dennys or Boston pizza would be a better option

We had a team breakfast after our hockey game and they were fabulous! We had our own room to have our wrap up event. We had about 34 people and we fit great! We preordered our food and they had it very quickly after we got there. I would easily have another team event there again. Dietary restrictions: We had a few people who were celiacs and there was no problem Parking: Huge free lot Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.

No stars for this place! The last time we went there, as we walked in the manager whispered in the hostess ear not to seat us in the back and say it s closed. I heard her clear but I still asked for a booth in the back. The hostess said it s going to be closed and he seated us in the middle open area. Not even 5 minutes later a groups of middle easterns? East Indians? Walked in and the hostess seated them in the back Ina booth ..the waitress did even pay any attention to us, ignored us most of the time. I use to think this was a good place to eat because of the good service, be Native/indigenous it s hard to find a good place to eat but after this last experience, I will not be going there anymore!

Way overpriced. Nachos were a half size for 17$ and the chips were stale. I should of sent it back but I was hungry.My mother in law paid 17$ for a half a turkey sandwich and a cup of soup from a can. Just yuck stay away

Food was bad, very bad. Service was meh at best, until it was time to take your money - then it was really fast. Booths were very uncomfortable, barely enough room between table and seat back. Id rather take my chances anywhere else, than have to eat here again. I didnt get into the food poisoning that followed, but yeah, there was that as well. Never again.

I love coming here and always have. Admittedly I havent tried all the restaurants in town but this one always has that genuine family friendly vibe to it. The owners are always there and come out and interact with my young boys and it all just feels very genuine as they are clearly nice people who love the service industry. Plus, lets get real, those breakfast skillets are no joke!

After New Year s Eve a bunch of friends and I went to go get breakfast. Food was ok and egg were undercooked but once we had all paid for our food I decided to head outside. When I got to the door it was locked and one of the waitstaff had the audacity to say I thought you would be washing dishes . As if I was trying to do a fine and dash. Terrible experience not going back again.

Great food at Smitty s for a reasonable price. Staff were pleasant and made sure my table was wiped clean during a busy morning breakfast service. I would have given 5 stars, but when I asked to hold the toast and tomatoes, the plate was somewhat empty. It would have been good to be provided some more hash browns, egg, bacon or sausage links. The big country breakfast turned into a medium country breakfast.

The staff was great, friendly and good service. My only complaint would be the omelette I order, it taste like plastic and when I mentioned this to the waitress she did offer to make another with real eggs and not the carton. ( my suggestion would to let your customers know you have that choice). I didn t know it was made with liquid egg from a carton

Sorry to say, but the Sausage Breakfast Skillet was disgusting. I couldnt eat it. The hollandaise sauce was so gross, and the peppers and onions werent even cooked. I definitely will not go back.

I highly recommend this Smittys location. I was greeted with a smile and the host sat us immediately upon arriving. Our server was very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed my eggs benedict breakfast. The portion was a good size and the food was served hot. Looking forward to my next visit!

Arrived for dinner not realizing they were closing in 10 minutes. The waitress did not once make us feel like we were impositioning her and the food was great. Sunny and able to seat larger groups of people. Friendly staff and nice selection of breakfast and lunch.

I registered and received a Seniors Club card that gave me a 10% discount. After two years of using the card, they told me they would no longer honour it, even though it is valid until 2024! This is unacceptable. First of all, not to tell me until it is time to pay that there would be no discount and then not to to honour their committment. They will have to do without my custom. I am never going back.

Quality of food has gone down. Dont know if that is a supply issue or not...but the skillet was not up to par. French toast was excellent though.

I dont know why I bother going here, everythings out of a box , its old school restaurant food and atmosphere. Ive changed my parents mind about going there. For the price we can go to an amazing restaurant and get good quality food, even gourmet, and having an inspiring and happy atmosphere.

We arrived around lunch time on Fathers Day so it was very busy. We only waited about 15 minutes. The young man who seated us and got our coffee was exceptional and was managing the crowd very efficiently. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time and was up to Smittys usual standards.

Came in for a late breakfast with my husband. Practically had the place to ourselves. The food was tasty and hot, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Our server was attentive and took really good care of us.

I know it s not a first class restaurant but our plate looked like food threw on it. Payed 18$ for breakfast and it was not worth it. At all. Got better breakfast at drive through restaurant.

Good food

Well I say I go because my ten year old loves Smitty s fancy pancakes, truth is I love them too. Friendly staff, hot coffee refills, and I enjoyed the eggs Benedict, (and some my daughters cinnamon pancakes). Parking: Easy to find and park Kid-friendliness: Good kid friendly menu and take out boxes for eyes bigger than belly syndrome.

Just took myself out for breakfast to the place I started my working life at many years ago. What a FANTASTIC experience it was. June was my server and she was amazing and very accommodating. I had some business stuff to do and I was given the opportunity to sit as stay as long as I needed. The coffee was refilled without ever having to wait and it was hot and fresh. When my food came I was so pleased to see the quality has not changed. It was perfectly hot ( which tells me it didn t sit in the window long ) and the taste and portion size was perfect! ( the hollandaise sauce was a little bland but it did not take away from the experience or overall enjoyment ), and this was even with the restaurant packed! 10/10 I would come back here every time I am looking to go out for breakfast. The owners some came around and was so kind and accommodating and did not rush me to leave at all! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Horrible service here. Food was fantastic. We were put at table by the bathrooms and forgotten about. Server went around twice with coffee pot but never came to our table. She finally can to take our plates so I asked for coffee.

Just keep driving. We waited 40 minutes for our order to be taken, then waited another 30 for our food to arrive. When it did, the food was wrong and not what we ordered. Save time and money, just keep driving.

Wish that they would open earlier, 8 is kinda late for some ppl that are up early or just getting off shift. I would like to suggest an open time of 7 am. The food is good and never have to wait long for a top off of your coffee. Food

Went for brunch. Staff acknowledged us from the point of entry. Kiddos got crayons with their menus and enjoyed their waffles and cookies for dessert. I had a chicken sandwhich with fries. Both delicious and fresh. Also ordered a side of bacon and shredded hashbrowns. Everyone left full. Happy with the service we received and information on dietary restrictions. We were in Cochrane around lunchtime and decided to stop by here for a bite to eat. We got a friendly welcome and were sat down. When our food came, we were somewhere between underwhelmed and disappointed. I had the Western Eggs Benedict and was disappointed with how bland it was. My wifes steak sandwich was so tough, the steak knife she was given couldnt cut through it. She also asked for a medium cook on it and it was cooked rare. She was willing to put up with the cook on it but it was barely eatable. She got a chicken sandwich as a replacement, which was better but only had a 1/4 teaspoon of mayo on it. The servers were fantastic and accommodating; its unfortunate that the good was so poor in comparison.

Very disappointed, thought we would try something new rather than going to Denny s but will not be coming again. Outdated, basic food for a large price. Food tastes blah. I was expecting something more aligned with Denny s but it didn t even come close

Very food service, warm and comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the Moza Burger, and it was super tasty! Everyone enjoyed their meals and deserts to finish. We are a family of 5 and will definitely be back again!

I had the bacon n egg combo for 14.99 and it was amazing. The serving portions were hugeeee and it was hard to be able to complete the whole meal for breakfast, personally. The eggs are good, hash browns are the best thing ever would recommend getting them cubed and the bacon was also delicious. I just did not like the toast that much, it felt dry and out of place. But everything else was worth the meal.

As much as I wanted to give Smittys a good score I simply couldnt. Didnt have a good breakfast there. The home fries were premade and absolutely dry, pasty and difficult to eat. Must have been frozen or left in the fridge for days then reheated. Should have gone for the pancakes. Smittys if your reading this please take a different approach to preparing them.

Meh. Service was ok. Food was ok. I find it annoying when I ask for soft scrambled eggs and they are over cooked. Bacon was soft, sausages were better than average.

Ill start by saying that breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I am pretty easy to please. My wife and I both ordered skillets (different ones) and my son had some kind of combo with a Belgian waffle. My son loved the waffle and his breakfast, but my wife and I were very disappointed. The food looked good and the staff were fast and friendly, but the food was bland. Simply no flavour at all, despite adding a good dose of salt and pepper and even some syrup in desperation. Both of us got our skillets with Hollandaise sauce and were looking forward to the food suitably drowned in rich, yellow and super tasty sauce. What arrived was a light grey gravy that had been very lightly drizzled over our scrambled eggs (which were in a flat layer like an omelet). The sauce tasted nothing like a proper Hollandaise sauce and was super bland - no flavor at all. It tasted like plain flour and water and the grey colour didnt help either. We asked the server about it and was told that it was Our version of a Hollandaise sauce. The Meat Lovers skillet was just a whole lot of undercooked potato and a few pieces of meat. I ended up leaving about half of it, which is almost unheard of for me. Oh well, you live and learn. I wont be going back.

Our group of 30 had a great experience at Smitty s! Our waitress Estell was well organized and had no issues managing all of the kids and adult orders. Our food arrived quick, hot and accurate. Will definitely return.

PROS: -Good old fashioned family restaurant -Coffee is great and plentyful -Food is good and as expected -Service is quick and friendly. CONS: -The acoustics are terrible. Tile floor and smooth ceiling reviberat and magnify the voices and noises. Texturing the pig flat painted drywall ceiling would make a big difference. -No designated male bathroom with a urinal. With toilets only, guys tincle where they should not. OVERAL IMPRESSION I like this restaurant and will be back.

Had a team meeting there yesterday. Received our breakfast, and discovered a large deep fried hair, and what appears to be a makeshift bandaid with blood. Like if you knick yourself with a razor and out some Kleenex there for it to dry. The servers were really great. The manager or maybe owner was super apologetic and did not charge us for the food, but did charge us for the drinks. That s a bit tacky, considering how is it possible we have had two out of three meals with gross and unacceptable things in them!? Also the server said my blood and kleenex was bacon. It was not bacon. Thanks for reading. I would like to add that as stated above, there was an apply, and they did comp the food (which we barely ate) and we did not want another meal, given 2/3 plates had nasties in them. With respect to the Smitty s comment below, stating they thought they corrected the problem, it doesn t mean that we would eat there again, and it doesn t mean that others shouldn t be aware. Totally human error happens. Totally! When it s 2/3 meals that are nasty like that, others should know. What I didn t mention is we did leave a large tip, (100.00) that the Manager didn t want, but we left. It s not the servers fault. And this more than covered the breakfast we didn t eat. We don t want anything for free.

3.5 here ... 4 stars because a 3 isnt accurate Thank-you to the staff - working with masks is ZERO fun. As we all start to return to what seemed to be normal, I appreciate the added face protection and acknowledge its terrible to wear. Busy place for breakfast - small wait (5min) with a bustling staff keeping up. Our server wasnt overly attentive leaving another one seemingly picking up her slack. Host staff worked hybrid beverage and was very pleasant and attentive (hint to manager - Olivia) Felt high-priced for what was served. Not overly excited to return, might not be my first choice for breakfast but I wouldnt not return based on my experience. Overall -- typical Smittys
