It’s a good place in Cochrane! The service is good and all the staff are friendly, the restaurant and the restrooms are clean, its easy to Park
We got great service. Our waitress asked and the kitchen made adjustments to my meal so that my leftovers ( I knew there'd be some) would stay great until I could finish it. ( Yes, even the leftovers were good.)
The food was terrible. We ordered nachos, mozzarella sticks, deep fried pickles and a poutine. I had one bite of the nachos and never touched it again my friend couldn’t finish it. The beef on it was absolutely way overcooked and dry. He took the remaining back to the hotel and was never touched again. The mozzarella sticks and deep fried pickles were frozen food. Nothing special, wasn’t amazing either. Both had leftovers and also never touched after. The poutine was not very good despite it having cheese curds. I asked for it to have cheese curds and they informed me that it was going to be shredded cheese. They did accommodate the cheese curds. The shrimps in the poutine were definitely frozen breaded shrimps and didn’t taste good at all and also didn’t go with the poutine. There was ranch sauce in it and really just didn’t go together. The service was decent, they kept refilling my hot water which I asked for. They also checked up on us once in a while. The one star is for the service. I don’t recommend this restaurant.
It's a great shame that our experience this year was so bad, after 3 years of returning to the same venue for meals, the service has become nothing short of woesome, the previous years were actually quite pleasant and food always good. Part of being a server means providing service, to expect your customers to come chase you down in order to be served is ridiculous and really speaks to your lack of pride and professionalism. IF your stance is that upon closing the kitchen that customers that were there for meals and ordered at their tables are expected to then attend the bar for continued service, then YOU should make that know. Here's a pro tip, instead of sitting at the end of the bar, stuffing your faces with food, perhaps get up and pay closer attention to the few paying customers you have. The fact that the place is for sale does not come as a surprise.
I have been here a few times. We had reservations for dinner for 18 people on a Saturday. The tables were set up when we arrived. Our server, Michaela took our drink orders immediately. By the time they arrived, she was already working on the meal orders. The food came quickly. I believe everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was good. My only complaint is that they closed at 8. We probably would have stayed around a little longer as we were a group of people from all over Ontario. It would have been nice to visit longer. All in all it was a good experience and I would certainly go back next time I am in Cochrane.
fast, friendly service. Food was just okay. I wasn't overly impressed with what I ordered. I was hoping for more of a homemade vibe instead of the standard frozen preordered products. but maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. That being said I would stop in again to try other menu items.
Food was good with unique weekly specials.
The 49th Parallel is amazing. The atmosphere was perfect for a modern hometown restaurant, with hockey decor, comfortable seating, big TVs and classic rock playing. I could not believe the generous portions of delicious food. The gravy is incredible. I had the BBQ beef brisket wrap and the brisket was perfect. The restaurant was decorated with fun Halloween decor and there was even candy for the kiddos. They have karaoke on the weekends. The staff is friendly and the owner is great to chat with. I would definitely come back.
Good quality pub food. The server Jessica is fantastic!
Unique, delicious food
Great place to eat.
Nice restaurant, good food, the waitresses were friendly.
Spicy fries and flaming cheetos burger was amazing!!
Terrible service below average food workers are incompetent an lazy takes 30-40 minutes to get a drink .
Consistently waiting for service. In fact having to go to the bar twice to ask for a drink and then subsequently being cut off for approaching the bar for service. They ve served me their last drink.
Food was pretty underwhelming and takes forever to receive. Would not recommend
Customer Service was poor, food was below average, and atmosphere was dull. Other then that its great !
The food here was delicious, had a huge chicken burger, deep fried big chunk of white breast and it was so good.
Stopped in for dinner ...wings and fries ..........Good food ..service ...clean and modern establishment ....will be back
Very good and tasty food at good prices.
I personally had the ultimate grilled cheese and that was absolutely AMAZING. Im definitely going again solely for that beautiful grilled cheese. (Also just for clarification; I didnt write this review after I went, it was around last summer)
Wasnt my personal taste in food, but staff (Micaela) was extremely understanding and nice. Looks like good spot for a drink, and a great place to meet the community
The outside would not be recognized as a restaurant. Looks like an old building with a small deck on it. I think the winters are very hard on all exteriors here. Walk in and you get a big surprise! Neat and tidy environment. Nicely spaced tables great lighting and they also have live bands. The food tho is the clencher! Is is meat straight from a local butcher. Hand made burgers with no fillers or additives. Best french fries and loaded natchos and ceasar salad! I have personally tried these and want more!
very good food, very fast and my fav waitress is val <3 Kid-friendliness: very friendly environment
Great place for stopping in for a beverage and dinner after sledding all day.
Had dinner here 3 nights in a row. Everything was amazing. The staff was super friendly, the food came quickly and was delicious and there is a large selection of beers on tap. My GF had the Ceasar and rates it 5 out of 5. We sat at the bar and watched hockey while the staff handled the crowds competently and professionally. Overall a great experience and well be back!
Came up for a snowmobile trip and 49th was recommended by our local cabby. Average to below average service. Quite slow considering place was fairly empty. Waitress got 2 of 3 starters wrong. All got steak for main, all ordered med rare and got over cooked, dry flavorless roadkill. Absolute garbage. Fries were the onky good thing we ate. Overpriced and not worth our time.
Tried to get a reservation for 12 people. Was told they didnt accept reservations. Suggested we try to just show up but likely we would not be able to get in. 2 of our party showed up anyway while the rest of us made alternate plans. They advised the entire restaurant was empty and during their meal, only one party of 4 attended. Too bad for the restaurant. They would have made a mint as we ended up a party of 20!
Spent 3 days sledding up that way. Great food and prices! You should advertise more to the sledders.
You can t actually get food here but if you re lucky they might serve you a drink
Really disrespectful and treat costumers how they think
Place was very busy, an hour wait to sit. But the wait was worth it. Amazing food. Great Selection. Great atmosphere. Really cold beer.
Super disappointed. Food was average and place dirty. Ordered a wrap. Only one side had meat probably a good thing, as the meat was not nice. Went to use the washroom, and there was uneaten food in the toilet. Food took over an hour to arrive, and everyone at the table got theirs at a different time. Staff were trying, but clearly need more training.
Food was okay but kitchen was SLOW. My family & I got there around 7pm & got out around 10pm, ambiance wasnt really pleasing.
Ordered the signature burger which is basically a burger made with 2 grilled cheeses instead of buns. Was upset to find the burger patty tasted like unseasoned ground beef and didnt seem to have any spices. Shouldnt the signature burger of a restaurant be showcasing the kitchens pride and best work? I was slightly off-put by this and didnt really get to enjoy anything but the jalapeño poppers which were just the plain style frozen variety stuffed with only cream cheese. The waitress stated sorry, our kitchen isnt doing well tonight. They have an interesting spicy food challange leaderboard written on the chalkboard wall. I was disappointed to hear that its not something they actually offer anymore. Felt like it took forever to get the food and in the end we got take out containers and our dogs ate most of the meal. Appears to be a classy restaurant on the outside but sadly only serves pub food and have a strange and noisy atmosphere inside.
Snowmobiling in Cochrane and called the 49th Parallel to place takeout order. They told us they are not taking takeout orders? Whats up with that? Not very friendly to out of towners!!!!
Good food and friendly atmosphere and service.
Amazing food
Great food, great service.
Great restaurant for visitors! Excellent pierogies.
Just had lunch , been wanting fish and chips forever.....the apps were awesome (jalapeno poppers and deep fried pickles)fries were awesome, gravy was sooooo good, Tarter sauce was on point, our server was great and the place was nice......BUT WHY THE FROZEN TRIANGLE FISH
A nice clean, bright corner pub nestled in the heart of Cochrane. I picked a quiet midweek evening. The beer was still cold, and the vibes were good.
Food doesnt taste good, portion was small compared to price, and not amicable people. All over experience is not good.
One of the best little pubs yet
Got there and were told wed have to wait to be seated so we decided on take out. They almost immediately sat the couple behind us. Didnt call us to let us know the food was ready. Food sat for 40 minutes before I went up and asked what was going on. Portions were tiny, and food was cold.
Good food, good beer. Excellent service.
Food is awesome. Service is horrible. Not once did we have anyone ask if we needed anything. Sad as this was our favourite Cochrane eatery.
Just eaten at the restaurant, I walk in the waitress sees me, ignores me and plays with her phone and a napkin, I sit there for a few more minutes shes still texting and playing with the napkin. I get up goto to the bar ask for a menu and order a drink. I sit there and sit there, another waitress delivers items to another table and I ask if there is there table service, she says yes. Eventually this waitress comes over and takes my order. The Original waitress is out in the back somewhere, through the one way mirror I can see someone in the back playing with a ball. I get my food which was a Philly steak sandwich and fries. Philly steak was excellent fries were only just hot and I had to ask for a knife and fork. Disappointing evening
Very good and welcoming !
Terrible service. I should have listened to the waitress at Bar-B-Q Ranch. Hard pass.
Grate time grate service
No dinner menu after 8pm really?
Best and only place for miles.
Good food, good staff. They ight
Cool spot decorated with sports memorabilia. Friendly service, cold beer.
Gicing 3 starts and thats being generous....Although the food we did receive was tasty, it took over an hour from ordering to our table. This is what 24.00 got me. Disappointed and probably wont return.
Great food! Friendly service. Good value for money.
Another best experience in a while . Good ambiance and perfect customer care
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. A vast menu that easily met the needs of everyone in our family who each seemed to be craving a different food. Staff was friendly and welcoming, restaurant was well kept in clean. I will stop here again next time Im in Cochrane.
Good food
From out of town here in Cochrane on business. Very friendly staff, very attentive. Tried the spicy Buffalo crispy chicken sandwich with Quebec Poutine. Overall it was decent. Chicken was crunchy and dusted with a Buffalo rub (dry) Im a fan of wet myself. But too be clear, this is all stated on the menu so it was my choice to try. The added coleslaw on top was not needed in my opinion. Too be honest, classic lettuce and/ or tomatoe is better. The pickles are a nice touch to the flavour. Poutine was good. Decent portion overall and I found prices fair considering times were in let alone how far north.
Bought the basic burger and it was meh, nothing too exciting, just as the name suggests. Small patty. Fries were bottom of the bag and only about an inch long.
Great food, great service.
Was ok
Fast service at lunch time. Had an awesome smoked meat clubhouse sandwich; fries on the side were delicious. Looking forward to my next visit.
Good food overall, service was good, clean place to eat and a friendly environment to be in.
I had a great time here, came in as a stranger in town and left with friends. If youre in Cochrane its the place to go. Great food and hospitality, great spot!
We had a party of 8 for dinner. Overall the experience was decent. Our server was great, friendly, and outgoing. The food was less so. 2 of us ordered Medium Rare steak, both of us got closer to Medium Well. The steak was a little to charred for my taste. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food, however the mashed potato tasted like instant mash.
Great food great service.
Went there with my coworkers and got very disappointed .Food out dated , waitress took his sweet time . 2 tables that got after us got their order taken and their food on the table before the server even took our order . And food takes around 15 to 30 to get to the table so imagine how long we had to wait . On top of that . It was just not good .
If I could give the food 5 stars I would. I m giving 3 because the service was terrible. Our waiter left mid meal without saying a word to us. We were then ignored by the other staff for over 15 minutes as we sat there with empty glasses. I think this new restaurant has great potential but your staff needs a lesson on hospitality.
Service was excellent. A great menu. And very affordable prices. Highly recommended
Service at its finest! Great food, and staff were very friendly! We had a large group and they made special accomodations for us.
The food is great.
Food was good, they were out of pretty much every type of beer but coors.
Brisket wrap is just awful. $18 plus tax for a wrap drenched in the most disgusting bbq sauce. Nasty
We were very impressed with the service and the way the kitchen accommodated our food intolerances. I would give a rating of 4.5 for the food and service. The reason for the 3 stars is that the restaurant is not at all wheelchair accessible. Anyone with no mobility issues would enjoy the food, service and atmosphere.
Food was okay at best. Nachos are over priced for the small amount you get. Over priced for small meals.
Solid burgers, sandwiches and poutine. Love the weekly burger and poutine specials!
Short of good food
Best place to eat in cochrine Amazing food husband and I both had pasta it was fabulous just the right portion size. Service was fast and friendly. . highly recommend. Seriusly dont waist your money or time anywhere else.
Good food -good service -about the only place open -we lucked out
Good selection of foods and great service
Absolutely love this gem! Val, Mike and their team are extremely friendly and welcoming & their food is YUMMERS!!
Nice atmosphwre for small town Cochrane but the BBQ platter was not shut for my guys. All 3 meats could have used a little more TLC or dont make it available on a quiet night.
Excellent food and fast service. Would eat there again..hopefully soon
Service was quick. Server left before I did. The famous spaghetti meal lacked seasoning but was a healthy portion.
Server was fantastic, she was only supposed to have 10 but ended up having 17. She was great!! The food...fantastic as usual. Love it there.
Great Service. Great Food.
I had the crispy chicken BLT burger with fries. The bun for the burger was toasted on a grill which added a lot of flavour. Fries were real, which earns it bonus points. Gravy lacked salt but was adequate. Service was friendly.
