Love their food, love their service. Always a friendly atmosphere and the toppings and sauces you have to choose from, makes it so you get a different donair every time. I will keep coming here.

Take out fish chips-$12, french fries ok- pathetic amount of food (see photo)- 20 fries- French fries being the cheapest a restaurant can offer customers- takeout box size pathetic- one SMALL piece of fish with fries smaller than my hand (see photo) bought another meal of calamari- 1/4 size of the fish chips- not worth it- added 5 baklava- asked for a minimum of $5 tip- bill total more than $36!! wouldnt fill a child- not a restaurant for people, just profit- likely because struggling ...stick to Donairs- 1 star. Un Reasibale portions no matter what the lame excuse below

Order from skip the dishes, terrible, inedible slop. Donair was so soggy, and way too much sauce, was more sauce than meat and I got extra meat. Fries were wet, sold, and also very soggy. Truly disgusting food, don t order it

I was in town for work and let me tell you Id eat here everyday, food tastes amazing, owners/staff very welcoming and friendly, one of the best dining area for a donair place, and they have kids menu which many donair places lacks.

Love the donairs but they are too expensive. They dont give you feta with your wrap unless you pay $2.50 extra. However, I really enjoy the chicken donairs I just add feta when I get home

The food deserves more than 5 stars as its always delicious, however, the front staff service needs an improvement. They had a new item on the menu - Donair Mac & Cheese - so I asked what it is as I wasnt sure if it comes in a wrap or it comes as a platter as it wasnt written anywhere and the front staff looked at me like Im stupid and said Its Mac & Cheese and Donair - well, thanks for the clarification. Please train your staff better, you have great menu and shouldnt be losing customers because of someone who clearly doesnt want to work.

First time eating from here. The elk shawarma late was absolutely amazing. 10/10 and can t wait to order again. The surprise for me however was the frozen pizzas they sell. I ordered the donaie frozen pizza just to keep on hand for a late night snack when drinking etc. I finally had it and I ll be loading my freezer up with those. 10/10 also beats any frozen pizza you d get from the grocery store and so perfect for when in a pinch. Will be a long time customer

I ve tried for the first time this week and we loved the food and the atmosphere. Service could be a little faster but considering it was super busy they did a good job. Highly recommend.

I had chicken shawarma but it was disappointing. Unfortunately, it didnt feel like there was any hummus or tehini inside. There was a bit of dull veggies and some dry chicken.

We decided to drive from Calgary to Cochrane specifically to try Donair on the Run. Based on the pictures we saw on Google, it looked like a small place with good donair options. However, to our pleasant surprise, it turned out to be a spacious restaurant with ample seating and a wide variety of wrap and salad options. I opted for a chicken shawarma, and my wife chose a donair. We both decided on the regular size wraps, expecting a modest portion. To our surprise, the regular size was what we would typically call a large size. It was a lot of food, and we could barely finish our wraps. The service was quick and efficient, and the prices were very reasonable. We spent less on two wraps, including drinks, than we usually do for one large wrap and two drinks at our regular place in Calgary. Despite there being a line, it moved quickly, and there were plenty of tables available. The shawarma I had was delicious, and my wife loved her donair. The flavours were spot-on, and the portion sizes were more than generous. Donair on the Run is definitely well worth the drive from Calgary, and we ll be making this trip more often for their excellent wraps and great value. Highly recommended!

Had lunch at Donair on the Run for a business meeting with the Cochrane Incubator. Butter curry bowl was awesome. Friendly and attentive service, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend this local restaurant.

Best Donairs/Shawarma place in Alberta!

Was really looking forward to trying out this place based on the reviews but I must admit it was a let down. Our order: 1 regular donair with cheese, one large donair with cheese & extra meat. With tip the total came to just over $47. This was a takeout order and when I got home the donairs were cold. Not cold like as if they had cooled down in transit (I also transported them in an insulated food delivery bag) but cold like they were never warm in the first place. The pita was cold and stiff and dry, the cheese was cold and never had melted and the meat was room temperature at best. At least the lettuce tomatoes and onions were cold I guess. Flavor was okay, had they been warm they would have been decent but it was nowhere near a $50 meal sadly. Would we eat there again? For the price, probably not. Disappointing first experience.

I dropped by at 7:30 pm on a whim and got a beef Shawarma for takeout - with my favourite toppings and sauces. It was delicious as always. Friendly and helpful staff food is always delicious and prepared quickly. A big thumbs up and a thank you to Donair on the Run.

From the west coast where donairs are plenty, but I think this place was my favorite. I had the shawarma pizza on a pita, and was so flavourful. I could have used a bit more heat but thats preference. Even if you dont like donairs/shawarma I tasted my partners poutine and it was very tasty. Not sure if they double fry their fries but extremely tasty. This will be added to our favorites for future visits to Cochrane.

We recently had Donair on the Run cater a large staff holiday lunch and it was fantastic. They were awesome to work with, very friendly and accommodating, large portions and the staff loved the food! Everything was thoughtfully prepared and well organized, and most important- delicious! Thanks again to the Donair on the Run team! We ll be back!

It might seem impossible to find a legitimate East Coast style donair anywhere west of the NB/QC border, but this is for real. The mixed beef and chicken is the surest way to get all the flavours in one trip. Salad is huge and delicious with lots of added protein!

Returned to Cochrane after being away for 5 years and have tried many a Donair across Alberta and always compared them to this joint...Donair on the Run was always won that contest! My return was just as good as the first time! Staff was courteous and efficient, covid precautions in place. The food was delicious and hot I will return often. ***Update*** I usually have a Donair and meat poutine on my weekly visits, today I tried the Shawarma and it was delicious. I havent had a dish I didnt like yet!

Best poutine ever in my opinion with real cheese curl , great fries and lots of variety u can customize with bacon/saute mushrooms and oignons everyone should try!

I promised the owners that I would leave a review after a visit last week with my oldest daughter. I told the guys that out of all the donairs and shawarma I have had in my life, the one I had just eaten was easily top 3 of all time. No joke. And here is why: I ordered a beef and chicken mix and the toppings were fresh, tasty and plentiful! So many choices. The meats were juicy and tasty. The sauces are dynamite and again, way more choices than other places. But what really caught my attention was the size of the end product, which was huge (so great bang for the buck) and the bread used to wrap the shawarma. I forget the name of the bread but it is not a pita which is used for donairs only AFAIK. This bread is thin and crisps up so nicely when they throw it on the panini press. You get a nice crunch with each bite followed by the delicious meat and the super tasty sauces with the great flavours of fresh toppings. I tell ya...you will not be disappointed with the food at Donaire On The Run and I am pretty thankful we have them in Cochrane.

Today, I saw this place by chance and I decided to try it. I tried the beef and lamb shawarma. I was really amazed by the flavor of my sandwich. I will definitely go back there when I come to Cochrane again!!

The taste is okay but you barely get any meat.... I dont know how anyone can say this is the best theyve had??? I guess if your a vegetarian....theres no MEAT theres literally 3 THIN slices. Maybe it is the best donair in Cochrane and possibly the only one??? IDK but Its not authentic when you go to a real arabic donair place you get A Lot of meat and flave. Its not terrible but its not good either... Bighting in to a bunch of toppings and sauce and thick bread with no meat defeats the purpose. DEEGLA & SAWARMA PALACE in Calgary ANY of their locations are awesome authentic full meat donairs and shawarmas. Maybe the owner of this shop should go sample one and then will understand you need meat... even if thevprice increases whatever but it will be a meal. I dont give this place more than 2 stars. I gave them three because their staff is awesome.... Good natured kind quick great customer service!

We were craving a donair after our three day road trip through the mountains. Randomly found Donair on the Run and they did not disappoint. We were impressed by the selection of sauces you can choose from. The service was amazing. Everyone raved on our 2 1/2 hour drive back home. And we all agreed we will stop by everytime we drive down toward Calgary (and yes we will make the detour just to have a delicious donair) plus we were so hungry we forgot to take a picture (next time)

JUNE 2023 i do remember and love this place since it was a hole in the wall a couple doors down. but honestly since then its been a bit of a decline. the food is still really hearty but the prices have been gouged higher than the relative inflation rate and the portions have been cut back. again, the food is well made but its in smaller portions and it seems like theyre employing cheaper cash-grab strategies. also how did you get all your furniture from sears?? they closed years ago. AUGUST 2022 great donair here! i put this outfit together this morning and i was really feeling it so me and nobody else went for some donair. it was so good.

Nice little Donair and Shawarma place in Cochrane. Menu is small but fully customizable with many options. They have Elk, lobsters and fish on the menu as well. Food tasted great, and I will definitely come back here for more.

Its ok but not the best Ive ever had

I just recently stopped in for my favourite Chicken Shawarma and forgot how good they make them!!! So much flavour and amazing service as always. This locally owned restaurant is delicious. Everything is made in store and is fresh. You can even buy their home made sauces to take home with you. The staff are all very very nice! A real gem on mainstreet

My husband raved about the schwarma sine his last visit in July of 2022. We made it a priority to visit this year. We were not disappointed and it has been our favorite so far this week. I had the Elk schwarma with mamas garlic sauce. The staff were super friendly, helpful and were willing to customize for dietary needs.

We were driving through Cochrane on the way somewhere and looked online for some ideas. As soon as I saw the elk shawarma I was sold! I wanted to advance order online as we were tight for time. Unfortunately, I didnt see the elk option online and called to verify if it was available. The woman that answered was super helpful and made a note to change my order to elk once received. I ordered 2 regular elk shawarma, 2 drinks, 3 cookies and 2 garlic fries. You could pick 2 sauces but wasnt a fan of the 3 veggie limit. The order was ready when we picked it up right on time and were running ahead of schedule so actually ate in the surprisingly large restaurant. The shawarma was delicious and I loved the elk. I thought the fries could have been crispier (parts not covered in garlic sauce were soggy) and cookies didnt seem the freshest.

Just when we thought it couldnt get any better Camille takes it to a whole new level, Donaires are delicious with so many great toppings and sauces, Donair pizza or shawarma plate both excellent options for something different.

We ordered a plate and a wrap. My rice lacked any flavor, the donair beef was dry and had a stale texture, almost like sandpaper. There was hardly any chicken, and the potatoes were soggy with a terrible aftertaste. The wrap was equally disappointing. Its quite disheartening because we had visited this place last year, and the food was excellent back then. Im not sure what has happened to this place, but the quality has certainly declined. We had actually traveled there specifically to try the donair and were very disappointed. Were not likely to return. Following a generic response from the establishment, I regret to inform you that I wont be willing to give it another try. This decision is primarily due to the terrible quality of the food, which is not something that can be rectified overnight.

Great shawarmas!!!

Best Donair hands down. Even with how pricy it is at almost $20 for a large shawarma, it is totally worth it. However after my experience today, I am disgruntled and frankly very worried at the quality control or lack thereof being practiced here. Pictured is my beef shawarma with half a bread clip that I found as I cut into it. Of course this is coming from their bags of pitas. How this went unnoticed and also how it got there as they filled up my shawarma is very alarming and shows an extreme lack of care with their food prep. C mon guys, this is unacceptable. Especially with todays economy and folks being more choosy with where to eat out, this makes me second guess my choice for Donair on the Run

Best donairs Ive had in Alberta. I dont live in Cochrane anymore but still try and grab one when Im in the neighborhood. Been a customer since 2012.

Very helpful, delicious food; I was looking for something different and I ve heard that the Poutine is delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at the size, amount of lamb , just the right amount of gravy and cheese. The spices are delicious. Will definitely be ordering poutine again. Parking: Park in the back and walk through the back.

I have eaten donairs for years now and this place is by far the worst! 2/3 times I have eaten here the donair meat is COLD like it just came out of a cooler. Absolutely terrible! And they were not busy at all (other than visiting amongst themselves). Then when I asked for a bag, it was basically thrown at me. No thank you, I will take my business elsewhere for now on

Absolutely delicious! We had beef donairs on fresh pita bread. There was a multitude of options for dressing your donair (sauces, lettuce,tomato, olives, jalapeños, pickled turnip, onions and more. Service was fast and friendly.

The most Iconic donair spot that has been a staple in cochrane for years!, my dad took me here as a kid and the ownership has always been super helpful and friendly. I still eat here frequently as an adult! Everyone that I have taken to eat here has loved the food, support local businesses in Cochrane like this one!

Barry Parking: Street parking is available and free, but it can get busy seeing the restaurant is on the towns main street, there is a free parking lot about 15 meters to the east. Kid-friendliness: Kids are more than welcome.

I waited for 15 minutes to get to the front of the line. No problem you re busy I understand . However I finally made it and they just lowered their heads and let me stand there for FIVE MINUTES!!! Not just a moment. Not sorry we re really slammed. Nothing. Food could be the best I ve ever tasted, but now I ll never know. They really should be ashamed at the lack of common respect they show people who are willing to spend a hard earned dollar!

SOOO hungry ,and it really did smell amazing. However I stood in line for a really long time only to be treated with indifference. The staff talked and laughed with one another as I stood hungry and anxious for a meal. After literally minutes I said to myself Nothing is worth this! and walked out. Needless to say I wont be back and cant believe theyre even in business. SHAME!!!!!!!!!

Today my family and i were in town from Olds for an appointment and we were hungry so we found ourselves at Donair on the Run. The Staff were incredibly friendly, the menu was very diverse with something for everyone, even those who dont like donairs. The food was DELICIOUS and fresh and the service was quick. This is the 3rd review Ive given, as their quality of staff fluctuates so much. My last experience through skip the dishes sucked. Missing items from my order and when I phoned them- no apology from Grace, after checking with someone else simply said Theres nothing we can do. No apology, nothing. Truly horrible customer service. I will not be back. The only reason you get one star is that your food is good(when the correct order is recieved). Boooo!

I cannot eat this kind of food all the time cause of my dietary restrictions. But the shwarmas they have here are some of the best. Every time I go here its busy but the service is never slow. Great place.
