I took my friends one night to Giga's for dinner. They never had Filipino food before and were surprised how tasty and delicious every single dish we ordered, AND all quite reasonable in price. They were all impressed with the food and the friendliness of the owner and staff that they have now been telling family and friends about Giga's Carinderia in Cochrane.
Best BBQ skewers I've ever had. I've eaten filipino all around Canada but this family run gem is the best I've tasted. The pork broth is also a must try.
We absolutely loved this place. A tiny little restaurant with a pretty large menu. A very traditional Filipino menu and the friendliest staff you could ask for. Also this place is very affordable. We had pork broth soup to start, my wife couldn’t get enough of this. I had bbq chicken thigh with rice, and pork skewers, my wife had chicken skewers with rice. Such unique flavours! The chili garlic oil was a highlight. Desert was a slice of caramel custard pie with chocolate and that was also amazing. Overall we had a great experience and if we are ever in Cochrane again we will be sure to visit and try more menu items.
This is really a hidden gem in Cochrane! Don’t miss it if you come here. It’s very close to McKays ice cream shop just few mins walk. The owner she is so friendly and like to chat with us and share about her passion with Filipino food. We order the signature sisig with rice, the sizzling sound is the key and every bite you can taste the spicy, sour and savoury, with rice you can’t stop eating. Also they serving other authentic Filipino dishes like pork bbq, Bicol express, bulalo, and even halo halo and other desserts! This is already in our top pick of Filipino restaurants near Calgary and you don’t wanna miss out!
Delicious authentic and fresh Filipino food. Every dish we ordered had great flavor and tasted just like my grandma’s cooking. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and if you are looking for a great meal in Cochrane give this restaurant a try. The menu also explains what each dish is, if you aren’t familiar with Filipino food. Plus there are pictures on the menu board at the shop to help you choose from so many different dishes.
Delicious authentic meals to satiate any hunger! We tried the grilled chicken rice plate and the pork skewers and both were well marinated with a sweet tangy sauce that complemented the meats superbly; the owner also readily offered free hot soup which were flavourful and deeply appreciated as it was still a little chilly outside. Once warmed up we did not miss the halo halo dessert, which was a sweet surprise.

Best Filipino restaurant I have ever been to, my entire family agrees that the flavours and seasonings were masterfully crafted, and the assortment of drinks were all delightful it was hard to choose just one. The owner is incredibly kind and attentive, amazing customer service all around! Highly recommend!

Had our dinner tonight. Food is delicious and owners are so great and nice. If you will go to banff/canmore from Calgary stop by at Canmore this is worth visit for your lunch or dinner. We will visit again for sure

Can t even say how the food tastes, ordered online, was charged for the order, but somehow they didn t receive it? I was already hesitant as the wait for order was 35 min online, which is long for lunch ,get to the store, 1st they told me I didn t order, proved the charge Id already paid for the order, and then told it ll be another 20 minutes as they didn t get my order, did manage to get a refund as I was unable to wait longer. Hopefully they ll get the kinks worked out for the future but I ll never be back. 1st impression left a bad taste in my mouth for sure
We enjoyed great meals here last nite, great food, we had ribs, rice, veggys, chicken skewers, such great service. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Delicious food. I ve ordered multiple times. My favourite is the tinola soup with extra ginger. It fills my soul. Authentic food like my mama used to make me. Everything I ve tried I love.

I was recommended to try here. The nicest staff member came to assist me and I told her I ve never tried Filipino food. She explained menu and food for me as well as recommendations on what other customers like to order. She was very attentive. I ordered Lomi soup and that was absolutely delicious!!! Very filling and the price is so reasonable. I m definitely coming back to try more Filipino food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Disappointed with seeing the ratings here Tried Giga s for the first time in Cochrane and was disappointed enough that we probably won t try again. The dynamite rolls were good, the chicken stir fry with vermicelli was ok (but lacked ALL chicken!?!?), the chicken adobo stew was flavourful, but again lacked in the chicken department. The worst part of the meal was the chicken inasal . 3 pcs of BBQ chicken thighs for $26 should have more chicken on them. They were pressed flat and stripped of meat!?!? It was just BBQ d bones . There s more meat on a single KFC drumstick than what came with these. Again, disappointed not only with quality of food but also for paying near $100 (+tip) for a bad experience. You d think they would want repeat clients?

First time here I and family. I tried lomi and it s almost perfect. I ll come again and try other menu as well and watch out for my next review. Hopefully the food contains originality cause that s makes its taste unique. Must come here and enjoy. Food

Chiken bbq with rice is the best!
Had breakfast here and both dishes had generous portions and great tasting. If you really love garlic, I would ask for extra garlic in the garlic rice.
Definitely a family owned and a lot of authentic options and delish food their fresh lemonade is soo good. No complaints it all tasted very good.

As of writing they dont have a printed menu but they are working on it. They had a bunch of Filipino foods lined up in a small buffet style. 1 item plus rice and soup for around $9 and 2 items plus rice and soup for $13. Had the pork sisig and express bikol myself. Was quite satisfied for the price. The staff are super friendly too. Look forward to coming again.
