Always a great experience here! I actually don t think it s too pricey for the quality, we usually pick two rolls each and it s $50/$60 dinner for two. Quality is always spectacular as well as the service, a favourite of ours for date night!

I ve come here a few times & always hope it ll be better but sadly it has not been. From old ikura to icecream that tasted super off (likely due to an unclean utensil) I always find myself wanting better quality. While the staff are kind, no one checked on us while eating and it was hard to wave someone down to get refills or extra items, as well as, when I told a server that our icecream tasted like onions, instead of taking it back & offering to get something else (proper customer service) the server got the chef to come to our table & say there was no onions in it... obviously there shouldn t be but if a dirty scoop or spoon was used usually that is how flavours from other things can be transferred. Regardless, I was disappointed with the customer service in that situation as an ex server myself. The atmosphere is gorgeous but sadly I d say that this is not the place for good sushi or service.

Our absolute favorite! Amazing, delicious food, great service and cozy atmosphere. We have been Sakuras clients for several years now and they make it perfect every single time.

Had sokeye salmon sashimi, salmon battera, crispy spicy salmon roll and mango roll. All delicious.

Have not been here for a few months but service people all changed and the service was not good, quite poor compared to before the other 2 servers (except for our main server) with dishes just stood there without introducing the dish and expected us to grab from their hands Used to come here once a month but not anymore

Our kids love sushi and we took them here for an after school treat. They loved it and we all thought it was pretty impressive sushi for land-locked Alberta. Atmosphere and service were also good. We will be back.

We are repeat guests in this restaurant, and this is the first time we get disappointed. We are group of 8 this evening celebrating a special occasion (birthday) . We understand the busy operations when we came and we patiently waited for the food to be served. We came 5:35 and we were assisted about 7pm (totally fine because we saw how busy it was) but for us waiting for that long we were atleast expecting somehow to be offered some water or any drinks while waiting but no one came. We got the water served in our table about 7:15 and food came few minutes after (no complaint) although the waiting hour is already long time. When we had the food we got some orders missing, we ordered 2 sizzling beef teriyaki only one served and unfortunately the bday celebrant waited coz one is missing and we have to approached the waitress who assisted us to check and she told us they forgot about it (so we have to wait again for another 15 minutes to get her food.) Second batch of orders we specifically ordered spicy seafood udon soup, they served us the non spicy udon soup and when we told the waitress this is not what we ordered and she insisted it is correct. We have been coming here for past years and we know what orders we want. however when we explained to her we asked for spicy she just asked for apology without offering us to change the food instead offered us siracha, unfortunately we were so disappointed as the taste is not up to what we were expecting! Another thing from the Seafood Yakisoba we ordered , i understand there are mussels with it however it is so unacceptable to have noodles with lots of tiny broken shells of the mussels, we told the waitress and showed her about it and told her to inform the chef . She seems not to care at all with our concerns as this are serious complaints. Not sure if all our concerns were passed on the Manager but looks nothing happened. We did not want to create any problems as they are closing . But this concerns must be taken seriously to avoid the same issues with other guests

Weve been to Sakura many times and I just realized I didnt do a review! So here it is: simply the best sushi in the region! Lots of variety. The staff is always super friendly. Food

We used to love this restaurant for our go to Sushi until yesterday. There s 2 extra slices of sashimi on my husband s plate, all of a sudden the server came to tell us that the food was wrong. We said he already started eating it and was willing to pay for it. The server insisted, took the plate, removed the sashimi and came back to us. We were looking and looked like he served the food to someone else. How can you serve it to other people when we literally breathed on it?

Sakura never fails to satisfy. The sushi is absolutely amazing and the staff is professional and pleasant. A reservation is recommended as they are always busy. A pe4sonal favorite is the Rockt Mountain Sushi roll....sooooo good! Dietary restrictions: One of our party is dairy free / gluten free and she was very happy with the teriyaki chicken she ordered!

Has there been a change in management? Staff informed us there was a new chef during my recent visit where the chicken teriyaki in the lunch box was horrible. Precooked chicken breast topped with what I can only assume is store bought teriyaki sauce.. The usual rolls we ordered and udon soup were ok.. but definitely not as good as previous visits. I have not been back since as prices are too expensive to risk getting mediocre sushi...

Busy location in strip mall near the fire station in Cochrane. The decor inside is lovely, a highlight being the origami cranes above the open kitchen area. Food here is reasonably priced for a high quality sushi restaurant. We really enjoy their Bento, and would recommend these for people who are unfamiliar with different types of sushi rolls. Our vegetarian friends LOVE the variety of sushi rolls available. Our grandkids enjoy the he Katsu and tempura options. Highly recommended! Vegetarian options: Our vegetarian friends love the mango rolls here. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu plan provides many options. Watch the cost of juice if you request a refill. They charged almost $4 per half filled glass for this.

Hidden gem in Cochrane. Unique rolls and sauces. Service is fast and efficient. Its a little expensive but the quality is there to back it up. Recommend the Kraken roll. Rocky Mountain roll and the soups are great too.

Going down hill, food was not as good as it used to be and the service this particular night was really bad and slow...other servers appeared to be on top of things but our clearly didnt want to be there.

The bento box is a great deal and all the items are delicious. Every item included tasted great. I found the teriyaki chicken to be unique from other places as they actually gave a whole small chicken breast.

Disappointed with my recent visit. I ordered the spicy sashimi bowl and was expecting various sashimi cuts per the menu picture. Instead, I got what was clearly a mince of the leftover sashimi ends featuring plenty of silver skin. I really hope this was a one off and not how they usually prepare this. Huge letdown.

We passed by the town around lunch time in search of a Japanese restaurant. Glad we found this as we enjoyed all the items we ordered. Nice decors and friendly service. Ordered the deluxe bento box with salmon. Enjoyed every bit of the food. Good portions and size especially the sauce. Well balance. Next time will come back and try out other menu items.

i ve heard this sushi described as the best you can get outside of japan itself from multiple family members of mine that have been to japan. The service is out of this world and overall this restaurant has an amazing atmosphere. Keep it up Sakura!

If you love Japanese food then youre in for a treat! Sakura has a dedicated gluten-free menu. There is sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, bulgogi and even one dessert option. I had seaweed salad and beef bulgogi and they were both delicious! Make sure to ask for the gluten-free menu and also inform your server. Sakura Sushi & Grill is hand down the best sushi restaurant I have eaten at. Staff was friendly but the food was the star of the show. The portion sizes and prices are very reasonable for what you get. I only wish I had taken pictures of my meal to showcase to you all. The salmon sashimi and I believe it was the moonnight rolls are a thing of beauty for my taste buds.

They ve raised their prices, but no improvement to food/service. You ll wait forever for someone to take your order and for the food to come, even if it s not busy. The servers are consumed with take out orders and don t pay attention to the customers in the restaurant. I d say if you want to try this place stick to take out only.

My family eats or delivers food 2-3 times a month at Sakura Restaurant. I read a review written by a customer named Jenn below. The staff I felt there always dealt with customers with kind and smiling faces. What I want to say to her is that at least my family and friends really enjoy eating there and the price there is a really reasonable amount. Now that all the ingredients are increasing day by day, I know they are sticking to a price increase of just 5% last year. Even if the price goes up further in the future, I will continue to go to Sakura, one of the few good restaurants in this town. Since you dont have any complaints about the taste of food, dont you admit the food? I cant see the quality of the price and the kindness that most people acknowledge anywhere.I hope you dont conclude that Sakura Restaurant is a bad place just because the server reacted late to your table.I hope you visit there one more time with a generous heart. They are never unfriendly to customers.

Over the last couple years I have frequented here and every time I am always very happy with everything. A huge thank you to Sakura for always providing an amazing experience. The food I could talk about for awhile, the sushi and grill items are fantastic. I recommend getting a reservation on weekends as it can get busy.

I loved the menu, it has many options (but this shrimp sushi with salmon skin, wonderful) I already wanted to come back the next day to taste this dish again! and thank my friends immensely for giving me such a happy moment! The staff were very polite and pleasant with their service. With a great selection of Japanese beers, sake, and dishes I have to highly recommend for the food and service alone. The music and decorations are an amazing cherry on top.

Hmm There does seem to be an unnecessary delay before they even ask if you would like a drink & the place is not busy. Food came out slightly warm with cool chicken and cold broccoli all served on a cast iron hot plate that is . Cold to touch this cast iron plate should be sizzling They don t come back to ask how you are enjoying your cold food, 4th visit .. they don t come back. Certain servers do provide better service, however marginally. Unfortunately the server never came back to even ask if I realized the food is cold . The young girl brought the bill and it says John on it It good to know that they just aren t interested in providing service for the cold food

Sakura Sushi is absolutely delicious. We were pleasantly surprised! The yam fries are lighly tempurrd yams with a honey sauce. OMG! The best yam fries i have ever had. Also had a crunchy munchy, california roll and vegetable. All were fresh and delicious! Will definitely be returning one day soon.

This place is quite famous. I walked in worried I won t get a seat but I did! I love the ambiance, the service, and the food is so good! I ordered yam fries, and Cochrane flames. Soooooo yuuuummmmmmm!!! I look forward to my next visit so I can try their tempura (I saw a few tables ordering it).

I was really impressed with both the prices and the quality of the food. I will be coming back for sure. One of the best Poke bowls I have had in some time. The service could have been a bit more quick, though, especially considering there were tons of servers for how many tables they had. The space did also feel a little cramped with how many people there were in there.

Sushi, sushi, rolls...it was all delicious, but Nagasaki Jjambbong...its definitely the best! Its close to cream udon, and the thick sauce and creamy taste is perfect for your taste!!

Below Average. I give it a 3 for 1-10 scale. Sakura is subpar. Customer service is poor, food taste is not as we expected. If you will pay a visit to Calgary, please go to Sushi Kimu, the best japanese resto weve been to.

Nice clean restaurant with a lot of seating space. The menus were aesthetically pleasing to look at and had a great selection. Lunch boxes are about $15 and offer a variety of sides. Both servers and waitresses were attentive and friendly.

Sadly Sakura is a victim of its own success. We have been going there for for the last few years, but lately the service is less than and the hot food is cold and not as fresh as it could be.

Waiting time was almost an hour. They seemed to only focus on takeout so we had to wait for an hour for our food to be served. When our food finally came, (I ordered udon) it was the most SALTY thing I have ever put in my mouth and after 1 bite I couldnt eat it any more. They seemed to have reused the same broth over and over and over again until it just tasted like soy sauce. We told this to our waitress and she told this to the owner but she didnt seem to care and didnt even apologize. You just lost a customer never coming back again.

Waiting time was really long and the owner didn t even care and she said nothing when we told the waitress that the food was super salty. We couln t even finish the half of food. It was such a waste of time and money. Never gonna go back again.

Came here on my own for a weekday lunch on a whim. I am celiac and I was so pleasantly surprised to see they have an entire gluten free menu. And the sushi rolls were excellent! Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff as well. I will certainly be back again in the future.

This is simply one of the best sushi restaurants in the Calgary area. It is a Cochrane gem. The food is always fresh and really tasty. The service is generally excellent (though the last time the waiter should have refilled tea and water). The premises is clean and inviting. I highly recommend. I am very happy this establishment is in Cochrane.

We ordered a number of rolls - tuna, salmon, chopped scallop, dynamite. All rolls were well made and tasted fresh. Also ordered the spicy squid bulgogi which came sizzling on a hot cast iron plate. It was also quite good. Tip for gluten-free diners: This restaurant has a quite a few GF options on a separate menu. That s rare for a sushi restaurant. Thank you Sakura! The servers were friendly but service itself was spotty.

Was in Cochrane for business and wanted a nice lunch. Sakura did not disappoint! Several great options with excellent service from the staff. We had the Chicken Yakatori, Spicy Tuna Rolls, House Rolls, Tuna and Salmon Sashimi, and Shrimp Shumai. Everything was fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. I could go bacl juat for plates of Shrimp Shumai. Thank you!!

Wow!!! The gyozas melt in your mouth. The sashimi was oh so fresh and the service was efficient. I am so glad we stumbled upon this restaurant when we hadn t even planned on going for sushi. The thousand paper cranes are also a lovely decorating touch. I would absolutely recommend this place!

The restaurant itself is really nice and has a relaxing and modern interior. I love the decor and the food is pretty good, the menu is huge! The one downside was the staff unfortunately. We waited 10 minutes just to order and the food came quite quickly and then when we done, waited for 20 minutes just to pay! It s disappointing and so many staff walked by and no acknowledgement to us at all.

Changing my previously good review. Really upsetting experience. Waited over an hour for food which is not the end of the world on a Saturday but what followed was not acceptable. Went in for the vegan options and clearly ordered from the designated vegan menu. The tempura that came was shrimp. The server tried to convince us shrimp was vegan and then that it was our mistake ordering which was not the case. I also had advised of an egg and dairy allergy and ordered the yam fries from the vegan menu that advertised a vegan (dairy and egg free) mayo sauce. They forgot to put the vegan mayo and I had to ask as I started to feel sick. She said it was the vegan mayo and when I asked her to double check she came back and said it was regular mayo and that I should be fine. So neither was the vegan options we were eating. No apology, no discount and she didnt even come back to the table. We come for the vegan menu from out of town and it was not a pleasant drive home for me as I was quite sick. Was ill for a few days. Good thing it was a small amount and not a full blown incident where I have to go to the hospital. Was not fun for my body thiigh as I had not had either for years prior to this. I dont enjoy having food allergies or being a pain but if there is a vegan specific menu then staff need to be trained on what that means and about the importance of food preferres or allergies to protect guests even when it is very busy. Had good experiences here previously so it may have been the server not understanding which is a training opportunity.

My daughter and I had a wonderful birthday get-together. Food was amazing. Staff were great. Service was excellent. Staff member brought GF chocolate cake with a candle and sang happy birthday to my daughter. It was truly an awesome experience. We did have to show our QR code for covid vacinnes to gain access to dine-in.

Very small amount of food for 16.95 for teriyaki chicken. Good amount of chicken but very little rice or vegetables.... well its a good lite snack I guess :( certainly not satisfying as a dinner.

Our absolute FAVORITE sushi place. The food is always soooooo good. But the atmosphere is even better. Staff are super friendly, service is quick. If you havent tried it yet, you should!
