Pomona in Colborne

Our favorite restaurant in the area. The quality of the ingredients are second to none, such a gem of a restaurant. We are lucky to have Pomona in our community!

An unexpected gem! Lisa takes such pride in Pomona and it shows in every detail. Food was fabulous, as always.

Celebrated my wifes birthday with a couple of close friends last night at Pamona. From the greetings to the goodbyes Pamona stands out. They were celebrating 2 years in business and gave us all a glass of Prosecco on sitting down. Waitress or front of the house was awesome. Personable, knowledgeable, friendly and funny top top top. The owner walked around and was the same personable, friendly. The food was delicious (really delicious). Plus the Santa Claus Parade took place right outside the window. It was a memorable night and we cannot give more than 5 stars but Pamona certainly deserves more than. Congratulations on 2 years in business. You will see us again. May be in February to celebrate our 24th anniversary.

An Italian hidden gem! Our meal and experience at Pomona was absolutely delightful. From traditional famiglia recipes to the authentic Italian table service; I was taken back to Nonna s kitchen. Dishes are made fresh to order with simple ingredients that pack a ton of flavour. Consider Pomona a must go. Grazie! to Lisa & team

We recently discovered an incredible new Italian restaurant called Pamona, located in downtown Colborne. The food was fresh and authentic, as well as truly delicious, with a focus on locally sourced products. The menu changes seasonally, and their wine program is well designed, and well-priced. Owner Lisa and her staff are knowledgeable and welcoming. This cool spot has great vibes and incredible food. As a previous restaurant owner in Toronto I wish ever small town or village in Ontario had a place like this. Can t wait to return for the Fall menu

Wow what an experience!! We came from Montreal to take my in laws out for dinner. Lisa (the owner) takes the time to great you at the door and ensure you are comfortable and happy with your table. She take the time to explain the menu and how everything is sourced from local famers and the beef is from Ontario. The menu is simple, diverse with options for all tastes. We shared some antipasto we had focaccia with the house oil for dipping. I can t tell you how delicious the oil was!! High quality EVOO with a blend of herbs and cheese amazing. I had the pasta alla genovese highly recommend it!! A good wine list as well. Desert was fabulous. If you are in the area I mean anywhere in the area book a table in advance and don t miss this jewel..

Lisa was so nice and sweet, she made accommodations for my gluten allergy and brought free food for the troubles. I would recommend going here, the food is incredible and it is definitely the best place in Colborne and Cobourg.

My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at Pomona last night and we canNOT get over it. The Burrata appetizer was exceptional. It was room temperature which makes a huge difference. I had the fish and Crème Brûlée. Perfection. The service is unique, knowledgeable and efficient. A little gem on the Colborne strip. We ll be back. Wonderful experience for a special occasion. The food was amazing and the service was efficient, friendly and very personal. One of us is vegetarian and there were several options available. A nice history to the building (it was a bank). But truly, the food was incredible.

WOW. After a few different friends raved about this restaurant, we decided to make the trek from Kingston to check it out. It was so worth the trip! Adorned with beautiful artwork, its a warm welcoming environment. The owners and staff made us feel at home immediately. Carefully chosen fresh, local ingredients were all plated with care, well paired and so delicious. The service was exceptional, Im so glad we visited. Well be back again for sure. Make a reservation, you wont be disappointed.

Best restaurant in northumberland. Excellent and authentic Italian food in cozy and well appointed space. The owner is the chef and was very personable. Food was amazing, the winners of the evening were the fava bean appetizer and the gnocchi which were pillowy and covered in a ragu. Good wine list too. Great menu options, amazing food, warm service. This place has it all. I ll be back again and again.

This is a small Italian restaurant that is a hidden gem. I loved all three courses that I ordered and the consensus at the table was overwhelmingly positive. Very fresh tasting unique dishes. The staff were very eager to help with suggestions and dietary options. It was a very pleasant evening and we will return again. I would recommend trying Pomona if you havent already.

Very good but busy

The reservation process online was great, our table wasnt ready, but they found us a different one. The food was divine and the portions are great. The reason for dropping a star is that the server stood directly beside our table chatting with the table beside us for at least half of the meal. She was waving her ponytail over our table/food and my partners elbow was literally touching her from time to time as he ate. I made eye contact with the owners a few times, but noone intervened. I understand being friendly, but not at the expense of someone elses personal space. Staring at her hind end through the entirety of our main course just made the experience less.

It is wonderful to share in Lisa s dream! Her passion for authentic Italian cuisine is present in all menu selections. The simple elegance of the dining room is inviting. Wait staff are efficient and friendly. We have been there several times and look forward to enjoying another meal there very soon.

If you like good Italian food, then Pomona delivers! The menu changes regularly, but there are always some favourites. They also have vegetarian options. The pasta is freshly made, and the sauces are delicious. The items are not cheap, but you have to pay for quality. The restaurant is small, and fills up quickly. Make sure you make reservations so you wont be disappointed.

A very small quaint restaurant that sets an atmosphere of being in Italy. It has the menu to match. Very friendly staff and owner. Food portions are exactly the size needed as the quality of the food is exceptional. Had doubts before visiting. The experience absolutely confirmed the rave reviews this restaurant has been receiving. Recommend making reservations or you will be disappointed in trying to walk in. They have limited alcoholic drinks, so if you want something other than wine and beer, you may want to plan before attending and bringing your own if you have the need. Rear restaurant patio will be open in good weather for a more enjoyable experience. Let s see if grapevines adjourn the walls etc. Absolutely worth a visit and return. Vegetarian options: Absolutely well balanced menu for all persons.

The food was excellent from start to finish. I had the special (shrimps) and the fish (well cooked with delicious sides). My husband had the chicken Marsala and said it was delicious. Friendly staff. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Pomona Ristorante with a friend. Being Italian myself, I was pleasantly surprised at the fare offered by Lisa and her staff. Rob, Chelsea & Kelly were friendly & accommodating. We chose the mushroom marsala & macco di fave as appetizers, the crespelle Fiorentina & BC sable fish (black cod) for our entrées. Everything was exquisite. Thank you Lisa, Rob, Chelsea & Kelly. Cant wait to return!

A charming & elegant little spot in the heart of Colborne, Ontario. This homey trattoria deserves all the praise when it comes to showcasing their Italian heritage, while still infusing international flavours and using fresh local ingredients. My wife and I had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy a visit, in between our travel to Toronto from Ottawa. We made reservations online and were able to book for a 6 pm opening on a Sunday evening (Highly recommend making reservations online to ensure seating). Lisa and her husband (the owners) are the definite heart and soul of this place. We are greeted by Lisas warm welcome, and felt right at home, as we received more sweet smiles and positive affirmations from the local regular guests dining that evening. We also had the honour of speaking with the brain and hands of this operation, Chef Chelsea, who suggested the amazing specials that we had the pleasure to enjoy during our dinner. Service & Atmosphere a perfect score, 5 out of 5. We tried 3 different appetizers: an order of their fresh Burrata with broccolini and a honey pepper glaze, their special grilled jumbo black shrimp with white bean puree, and their special ribs with ragu polenta. All the dishes definitely held their end of the bargain. Only suggestion would be maybe having a side of that honey pepper sauce for the Burrata and bread, since it was so good. For our main dishes, my wife had the chicken marsala and I had their special beef pasta. Just as the appetizers, these dishes did not disappoint and filled our bellies with all things wonderful. We topped of the night with a lemon creme brulee to share since we were too full for any other dishes. Food: a whopping 5 out of 5. Overall, an unforgettable 5 star experience and will definitely come back for another visit when were in this part of town again. What a fantastic dining experience! If you want truly authentic Italian food, you must dine at Pomona. Lisa and her husband are the ultimate restauranteurs, they make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The dishes tasted just like my nonna used to make, it was an absolute feast for the senses. So much of the food is sourced locally, and you can literally taste the love in each dish. We started with the burrata, melanzane and shrimp for our appetizers, pasta bolognese, pasta alla genovese and mushroom marsala for our mains, and torta alla nonna and crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I had the added bonus of enjoying a wonderful Calabrese conversation with Lisa, a special treat that happens very rarely. Looking forward to going back and enjoying more fabulous meals and conversations.

Many businesses could take a lesson or two from the owners of Pomona; guests are made to feel welcome, valued, and appreciated. Lisa and her staff are attentive to their customers and their needs. Our first visit to this quaint restaurant. It is recommended that you make reservations, I think they have maybe ten ( 4 seater ) tables. We were welcomed in, staff were very attentive, but discreet in their presence. Our party of 3 ordered from the daily specials, the Burrata was fresh and delicous, our meals, fish, pork and pasta were all cooked to perfection. The wine list is varied, but includes beer and wine from Prince Edward County. We left very content and feel we received value for our money, so much so, we left a very nice tip Parking: On street parking right out front. Sidewalks have been updated, wide enough for a patio?

Two of my children were in town and Id heard great things, so I figured wed give Pomona a try. Brilliant decision. Its a lovely, small restaurant with very friendly staff and excellent food. My children, in particular, raved about our appetizer (but, alas, I cant remember what it was). Im a vegetarian and it was easy for me to find something to eat, too. Highly recommended.

Pomona is a very special place. Chef and owner Lisa Colucci Voutt is warm, welcoming and genuine. She takes time to speak to every one in the restaurant and will describe each dish with detail and relish if there are any questions about the menu. The quality of the ingredients is evident, and its lovely knowing local farm and seasonal ingredients are used. The food is truly wonderful filled with flavour, and love. My husband and I always look forward to going. The overwhelming takeaway is the complete experience, from excellent wines, a lively and beautiful space, to the waitstaff that are present and happy to be there. Reservations are highly recommended, the washrooms are roomy and accessible. Pricing is reasonable for the quality and level of service and the menu and pricing can be seen on the website. Easy parking on the main street without a fee. Thank you for being a gem of a spot!

We had dinner on our honeymoon here and the food was to die for. Lisa was so friendly we felt like we were family. We had the Burrata and Bresaola to start with the special for the day pappardelle pasta with a rabbit ragu as a main. For desert we both had the tiramisu and without question one of the best I ve had in my life. (No pictures as we both inhaled it)

Very quaint find nestled in Colborne, and a wonderful experience. We were seated right away with no reservations but may decide to book ahead next time, as it fills up quite quickly. Dinner was amazing, and there was a good selection of different meals available. We will come back soon.

Bellisimo! It was our first visit to Pomona and we can t think of enough good words to describe our experience! The food was absolute perfection from the shrimp, breosola and fave bean apps to the sable fish, papradelle rabbit ragu and crispelle manicotti! Best meal i ve EVER had !

What a great gem of a restaurant in the area my wife and I went for dinner the food was fantastic we started with the Burrata it was amazing light fluffy and full of flavour all wrapped a nice presentation. Mains were Chicken Marsala the chicken was so tender it almost melted on our mouths The fish (type is eluding me at this moment) was amazing cooked perfectly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great with the small size they do make sure your looked after.

Hidden Gem! We heard about this spot from a friend. We drove almost an hour to eat here and it was worth it. Six different dishes between us and all were perfect. The portions, balance of ingredients and flavors spot on. You want a real meal, eat here! We will be back Only one problem, you wont want to eat anywhere else!

The atmosphere was lively, the decor is beautiful, and the food was incredible. We ordered the cheese board, burrata, chicken parm, and mushroom marsala. Gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian dishes that are unique and flavourful. The Mushroom Marsala (which was vegan and gluten-free) was delicious and although my husband got the regular chicken parm, there was an option to have it gluten-free.

A breath of fresh air! I had the pleasure of attending Pomona s opening night, and meeting Lisa, the humble, passionate and very sweet owner (along with her kind and dedicated team). The vibe at Pomona is warm and welcoming. It feels upscale, but unpretentious; cool without trying too hard. As someone with food restrictions (gluten free and vegetarian) going out to eat isn t always easy, and I never could have dreamed of having a restaurant like Pomona 5 minutes from my home. Lisa and her team are knowledgeable, driven and have an admirable passion for supporting local, sustainable cuisine. I had the Mushroom Marsala, and my wife had the gluten free Chicken Parmesan (the best she has ever had). The wine selection was on point, and the zuppa of the day was out of this world. We could feel the love in every bite, and we will definitely be coming back often. Thank you for a beautiful evening, Pomona - we will see you again soon!

Just wow. I am absolutely floored with the food and service. To start, we were welcomed by all staff, warmly. We sat down to a pretty set table, with water to start. Very comfortable seating in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. You know those spaces where you feel comfortable talking to the table next to you? This is it. Theres a feeling to this place. The Burrata was amazing. Followed by a deliciously savoury Bolognese. I had the Chicken Parmigiana. Everything was perfectly seasoned and transport me to another place. We busted the food budget and got the Tiramisu. If there is a dessert heaven, that is the one I want to go to. It was airy, tasty, and so perfect. I cannot shout loud enough for Pomona. Excellence abound- in their first week! Congratulations, Lisa (and team)- you f*cking done the dang thing!!!! Big ups and love! Cannot wait to visit in the future.

Wife and I had a dinner date here as we try our best to support local businesses. What a lovely gem of a restaurant for Colborne! Service was exceptional; food was delicious. If I had to make an observation (not a complaint), the table set up was a little too cramped for the space, but thats just me. Overall, a solid dining experience.
