401 Hume St, Collingwood, ON L9Y 1W7, Canada
Nice family place, food is good, servings size are big and great service. Recommended.
Breakfast here is wonderful-yet… If you’re craving exceptional seafood, don’t miss the halibut fish and chips at Georgian Bay Family Restaurant. The halibut is beautifully golden, with a light, crispy batter that gives way to tender, flaky fish inside—clearly fresh and top quality. The thick-cut chips are perfectly crisp and pair wonderfully with the zesty house-made tartar sauce. Add in the warm ambiance and attentive service, and you’ve got a standout meal worth every bite.
What a joke! 45 mins to get food with no one in the restaurant. Had to have food packed up as we had no time to eat. Food was greasy and gross.
Decor really nice - like a modern version of a diner. Server was great - very friendly, helpful and attentive. Huge portions for breakfast, but lovely omelettes.
Best breakfast in town. August 2024 My friend is at the hospital next door and I needed breakfast. It is, by all appearances, a regular diner, but the breakfast was not regular. It was the best breakfast I've ever had out. The home fries were pan fried with onions instead of deep fried and the eggs perfectly done. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere bright. I would recommend anyone looking for a great breakfast in Collingwood to go there. I know I will when I'm back in town.
Delicious food and a wide variety of options. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day, and the portions are massive. I'm not exaggerating. They're huge! The restaurant is newly renovated and the staff are friendly. I recommend!
Visiting Collingwood and this restaurant is recommended by local. And foods are delicious and salads are so fresh. Just look at the attached photo of the foods, portion are so big.
The server was lovely - attentive but gave us the time to enjoy our meal without unnecessary interruptions. The portions were enormous. The fries tasted like they were fresh off a chip truck. Nostalgia overload! My hubby and I were surprised and thrilled to find that the turkey on the turkey wrap was carved, moist turkey rather than the typical processed slices usually served everywhere else. We’ll be back and we’re being friends with healthy appetites. :)
Food was amazing would recommend the waffles or the pancakes
Had banquet burger and fries with gravy very friendly staff very polite reasonable wait for food wasnt long was hot and delicious rates very compenative
Excellent food. Large portions. Tasty food
Was at a Christmas Luncheon today with the Wasaga Beach Prime Time Club. It was a set turkey dinner menu. The presentation was beautiful each plate (party of 40), salad fresh, pie yummy and coffee also fresh and hot. Servers professional, pleasant and worked very hard to ensure all of our party was served in a timely fashion. It was my first time there however will not be my last. Well done!
Amazing as always
So good lots of food
Exactly as sold. The quintessential neighborhood family restaurant. Great food, great service, and outstanding value.
If youre from the GTA, Georgian Bay Family Restaurant is reminiscent of Zets or Master Steaks in terms of portion size. The food is amazing to say the least. Ive been here twice. Once for breakfast and again for lunch. Portions were huge and the food was really really good. Stop in and see for yourself.
Stay away! Bleh
The proportions are big I m very happy.
This was our first visit. Laurie, our waitress was great! Great value with the breakfast dishes. Nice decor inside for a diner. Dietary restrictions: Accommodated
This is a diner in terms of the menu and the cooking. I enjoyed a very good spinach/feta/mushroom omelette. They even have GF bread. Decent coffee. Stick to the simple stuff. Large portions. Ill go back.
A homey and welcoming family restaurant with friendly and efficient staff. Ive had breakfast there twice while visiting with friends. Both times were great. I would return in a heartbeat.
Food and service was excellent
Great home cooking, portions are amazing for the quality & price. Promise you wont walk away hungry!! We went twice for breakfast and dinner. The meal came with their split pea soup that was delicious. Neither one of us could finish the dinner, it was amazing and would serve 2 if not 3 people. Look forward to trying them out for lunch on our next visit to Collingwood. They had all day breakfast as well
Ordered chicken parm. Came with 10 lbs of spaghetti Way too much. But it was awful. Tasted like ketchup sauce. The parm was burnt. Almost like they were cleaning up for the night And the salad was all core salad with a bit of topping I through it all out Terrible experience
Great service, nice family restaurant atmosphere. I just ate the best Chicken Parmesan with pasta, and am way too full. Highly recommended. This time I had the Veal Parm. Also fantastic.
I waited nearly half hour to get a table. When I walked in there were 5 open and cleaned off tables ready. The hostess was just super slow and seemed very distracted. They seemed to have a lot of staff, three people behind the small bar chatting while the line formed. I ordered quickly as I was hungry. They brought tea fairly quick so I assumed food would not be long. Just eggs with bacon and home fries. Nothing complicated. The food was luke warm when it got to me half hour after ordering. There was a salad on the side of it, oozing whatever dressing onto my eggs. EWW. The eggs were tough and overcooked around the edges but fine in the middle. The potatoes were undercooked and under seasoned. Like they put something on them because its red but it tastes....I put a LOT of salt and pepper on them to make them edible. I will not be back.
Great food, huge portions so be ready! The servers are so kind here and its a great experience
Loved it, clean, friendly, large portions good prices.
First time here. Amazing food. Finally found a place that you leave and you arent still hungry. The portions are amazing. Will be back for sure
The Size of the halibut fish and chip along with the price was insanely amazing. Jennie our server was so friendly and helpful. Recommend for the whole family.
Always good
Wanted to get a table on outside patio and it was closed.Nice sunny morning ang closed. Their was seven people in our party and two dogs. They said they were short staff. I even suggested we would do take out. We would still have to wait 45 minutes. Not HAPPY at all.
Amazing food very friendly atmosphere
Came to Collingwood for a mini getaway and googled a few restaurants near by for breakfast. I narrowed my choice down as this was a family owned business and wanted to support a smaller place. Instantly was rubbed the wrong way. Had multiple people walk past us without acknowledging us, as we waited to be served. Once told to sit, we were asked to judge if our table was clean?! Patiently waited to be approached at the table, and again, no acknowledgment and two parties that arrived after us, were both served before us being addressed. Finally a lady approached us, and explained it was busy and it s one of those days and there will be a wait for the food. I was totally fine with them being busy, but the customer service and atmosphere was awful. To top it off, when my child ordered (nervous and quiet), the server rudely said to her I don t read lips . Lastly my husbands order came out wrong, however at this point we just kept our mouth shut as it felt like we were an inconvenience to this specific server. She wasn t in uniform so there was no name tag, however Jess was on the receipt. Possibly could have been a manager to make it all even worse.. P.s - whoever addressed the broken bathroom stall.. it s still broken
Reasonably priced and friendly staff! We had the breakfast. Will return!
As a group of 5 minority individuals on a business trip, we visited from out of town for breakfast. Staff seated us at 9:30 am however, serviced all other non-minority patrons that came to the establishment after we arrived and were seated for more that ten minutes. At 10:25 am we were brought our food, 6 patrons that arrived after us were served first and half way through their meals. We refused the food at this point as we felt offended and were on a schedule for an important meeting.
Great gem in collingwood, had the spinach omelette was fantastic add some guac and super, lobster Benedict was great
The food was pretty average, but the wait time was insane. We made a reservation for 8 people at 6 p.m., but it took 15 minutes just to get the menu. Our appetizers just salad and soup took about an hour to arrive, and the main course wasnt served until 8 p.m. There were no apologies, no check-ins to see how we were doing it was just plain awful. This was our first and definitely our last visit.
Parking: We went mid-day, which is usually the busiest time and there were lots of open parking spots. Kid-friendliness: Our kids, who can be finicky eaters, met their Waterloo here. Loved it all.
It was so nice loved the way it looks, the menu was big but not complicated. I had the yogurt parfait and it was amazing.
Great food, staff & prices!! Officially our new breakfast spot when we spend the weekend in collingwood/blue mountain!
Tasty food. Really big portions. Very nice environment and service.
Bright and clean environment. Staff excellent, so nice to go somewhere where staff is not yelling across to each other so loud. Food is great, portions are generous, and prices reasonable . Please do not change and let your standards down! Thank you for delightful experience and enjoyable meals.
Place is newly renovated and makes the best toasted western in town. Always good food and friendly service.
Great place, great breakfast.
The food was okay, but the customer service was quite poor. I did not expect this service from Canada as I have always had great experience with customer service in Canada and always tell everyone about it but this is one of the worst I have had. I felt discriminated against as I noticed our same waitress treating white customers with much more care and respect than with us. It took over 20 mins just to take our order and over 80 mins before our food arrived. She didnt want to explain items in the food or what was where but did so reluctantly when my husband pushed. We also noticed people who came after us get food quicker. We were all there for breakfast and made no sense it took so long. I ordered egg omelette. I didnt like it. Pancake was okay, and we have to ask them couple of times for the coffee refill, and they did not even give us water! OVERALL NOT RECOMMENDED.
Beautiful dining room, good service, great prices, and good food. I did not go away hungry after our brunch this morning, and was pleasantly surprised at the prices.
Breakfast is excellent here. The food is very good and well prepared. The service was also good. The prices are also very reasonable.
We were a group of four adults. Our order took at least 50 minutes to arrive! The waitress came over after waiting 35 minutes to tell us it would be another 2 minutes, then again for another 2 minutes which turned into 15. Other people who placed their orders 9 minutes before us had finished their meals and left before ours arrived. Our waitress did nothing to soften the irritation of waiting so long. Our meals were mediocre and consisted of simple breakfast-lunch fare. We would definitely not return or recommend.
Great value for the $$ it s my go to restaurant when going out for a family dinner
Visited this restaurant for breakfast around noon. Beautiful modern decor, plenty of seating, friendly servers, delicious food and generous portions at reasonable rates. Cheapest but most satisfying meal we had during our Blue Mountains stay. Highly recommend.
Quick and courteous service, great breakfast and clean washrooms and restaurant. Easily accessible for people with mobility issues. Next door to hospital so very handy place to grab a bite if youre waiting for someone having tests done or just a great place to grab a bite!
Unfortunately the service here was very poor. You get the feeling they really couldnt care less. Prices are decent compared to what you might pay at Blue Mountain Village. Thats really the only reason I gave it three stars.
Awesome breakfast spot Home fries were great Vegetarian options: Spanish omlette, mushroom, spinach omlette were offered
This restaurant is the last of its kind in Collingwood and surrounding areas!! The prices are reasonable and the portions generous. It s a Dinner 2.0. Dont expect fine dining; its lunch, dinner, supper all day long, with hearty and tasty dishes, without breaking the bank!! Encourage them, because if this restaurant disappears, there will only be big chains that are too expensive for what you get, and supposedly high-end restaurants for the Toronto crowd!
Poor service,The waitress started to swear in front of my daughters. We waited for about an hour and the food sucked should have made it better. The place was in good condition but the rest was the worse part dont recommend at all..... Kid-friendliness: Waitress started swearing in front of my children.
Amazing breakfast and super nice service. Quick and delicious food. The salad was a great touch! Highly recommend.
First time in Collingwood, but found this place ahead of time based on the great reviews on Google. Did not disappoint at all. Food was great and the portions were huge. Price is very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this place for breakfast.
Service was poor. After we were seated for what seemed like forever. The server finally asked us if we wanted a menu why else would we be here. Once we got the menu the server disappeared for another 20 minutes. I got fed up and asked another server to take our order. The food took a very long time to arrive and once it arrived it was cold, stale, and bland. My over easy egg ended up being sunny side, the salad was wilted and very oily, the potatoes were chalky, dry, unseasoned. Even the yogurt was poorly made and tasted sour like it was going bad. Server offered water to my friend that sat beside me but didn t ask if I wanted water. The bill also took a very long time to settle up. The server served all the other tables first before finally coming back so that we could pay and leave. For my first time here. I wanted to go because it was busy and looked lively but after this visit. It will be my first and last. Thanks.
Amazing.....I would highly recommend
Staff are absolutely amazing!! Very friendly, the atmosphere is very nice. Food tastes delicious!!
After good reviews from family friends we decided to give it a try. Gyro Wrap was so dry, the tiniest smear of tzaziki (did not taste like tzaziki) and the pita bread was fridge cold. Sweet potato fries with my husbands steak sandwich were Very Overcooked, The steak sandwich though very tender only tasted like Oily mushrooms. Most likely will not be returning.
Every staff member incredibly friendly. Good food always. I eat there almost every day. Parking: Plenty of free parking!
Great food and atmosphere, very friendly service! We have several food allergies and they were extremely accommodating and we didnt wait a long time for our food. Thank you for a great breakfast!
Never seen worse service or had worse food. I dont know how this place is so busy.. line up out the door yet their are seats avaliable and staff standing around.. im glad im sitting waiting hour n half for soggy undercooked food. Then ppl started leaving because service was so bad we asked for bill 20 min later still no bill. Keep your sanity go somewhere else.
Had a very nice breakfast. Loved the added touch of the salad with it, it was nice to have something fresh along with the heavier eggs, sausage and hashbrowns. Great service! All of the ladies were working to make sure that we got our meals in a timely manner, water and coffee was always full. Pricing is very reasonable.
Picked up breakfast from here this morning, inside of the restaurant was clean and gorgeous. Ordered via phone and ready less than 15 minutes later. Brought the food to a friends place to eat and quickly realized the single serving I ordered for a very good price was enough to feed all 3 of us. All agreed the food was absolutely delicious, especially loved the seasoning on the eggs and agreed home fries were among the best we had all had. We will 100% be picking this restaurant for all of our future brunch needs.
Really great food and staff. Very pleased
Ordered two egg with bacon, toast, hash brown potato and coffee. It was an Average breakfast served with cold hash potatoes. When mentioned to server, it s was acknowledged that kitchen was plating cold potatoes this morning. If they knew this, why not address it! Odd
Great food, decent prices, friendly staff, healthy proportions. A great place to take the fam or a loved one for a nice meal
We ordered close to close without realizing and the food was magnificent. Will definitely come back
We waited to seated as the sign said. There were 4 staff behind a bar area just looking at us. After a few minutes, they called over to sit at a table and pointed to it. We were sitting at a dirty table. So once again, we waited 5 minutes to have someone come over. The service and food are subpar at best. I had very hard potatoes, and the salad was just gross. Plus, its not very clean, I will not even go on about the bathrooms. Even with a missing lock on a stall in the mens washroom.
Great place. Food was good, and the atmosphere was nice. Staff were nice for the most part, but they could have been more attentive. Will be back soon.
Everything and I mean everything was meat contaminated I couldn t eat a thing. Some things were said to be vegetarian but cooked with meat or cross contaminated with meat. Very disappointed, would NEVER come back! P.S food was nasty too.
Slow service, cold food. We ate there for breakfast about 3 months ago and everything was very good but our last breakfast tgere a few days ago was a disappointment. Food
Food was very good...Service was amazing
We love this place.
Found Georgian Family Restaurant by accident. We were so pleased we did. My husband had the large breakfast that included toast and pancakes plus unlimited coffee. I had a chicken breast sandwich with fries both our meals were fantastic and such good value for money. The friendliness of the staff completed the great experience we had. Highly recommend,
Greek Salad was excellent, Souvlaki ona Pita was good and the fries were amazing!! Quick lunch prior to Appointment at Hospital
Wonderful comfort food, in a home-like setting. The staff are attentive and friendly. Portion sizes are good, nicely presented and served. Great for a weeknight meal or date night.
Amazing little spot! I had the meat breakfast skillet and it was so so good. Super clean and nice decor.
Maybe be the best steak and eggs in my life!! What a gem of a place!
Havent been here for a long time since revamped atmosphere was great the food was huge proportioned and excellent
Disgusting food Cold, not fresh and incredibly slow. All served with a hair. No excuse. Took it off my bill. But I m hungry Collingwood has much better places now
I love this restaurant and have been for lunch many times. The service is always friendly, efficient and timely. I have recommended it to friends several times. Friday I was invited to lunch by a friend and I suggested here. It was fairly full so I suggested the back room which had only two tables taken and we sat against the wall. The waitress gave us our menus and took our drink order just milk and pop and went off. I know everyone was busy and we were enjoying chatting but after we gave our order we never saw her again. There were three different other waitresses working in there and as more people filled up the vacant tables, our order did not arrive. After I started noticing others who arrived after us and were eating I asked another waitress if she knew anything about our order. She didn t but went to check and said my grilled cheese and chips were sitting there waiting for my friends order. She brought our plates out and suggested my chips were cold so returned them and had them heated. The plate she returned and handed to me was HOT,. My friends steak sandwich was chewy and cold and he needed to take it apart to cut into it. What a terrible mess and my favourite sweet potatoe fries were nothing like I have ever received. When we had barely begun to eat miraculously our waitress asked us if we wanted the bill and I told her no. That was a mistake I guess, when the whole room was empty except for us she came with the bill and told me she had been told to not charge us for our drinks and I laughed. I think I offended her. No apology from her at all and away she went in her little half apron of brown and black. I Know It Was Busy. But no excuse for us having to wait longer than other tables that arrived and left long before us. I don t know what happened and would have loved an explanation. Oh and yes we order delivery at least once a month if not more for dinner for six and just love the Greek salad. We have been having large family dinners from your restaurant for ages.
This was a very nice dining experience. They offered at 5PM our choice of breakfast, lunch or dinner menus. Our server Jennie was excellent. A large selection of quality food at reasonable affordable rates.
Absolutely enjoyed this local family style diner. The food and portions were of excellent value. The restaurant was very well kept! I did find the service a bit on the slow side, however it was very busy and they could have been understaffed (you never know the situation). Overall, definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the area!
I had lunch with some friends. I had breakfast. It was delicious. One friend had the gyros and fries and the other had a Greek salad with chicken. Portions are large and it was all delicious. Will be back for sure!
The mimosa with breakfast was delightful. Eggs were scrambled to perfection. Whole experience was great
Had the corned beef hash. Food was average. Service was slow. A regular came in after us and had his coffee and meal before we were offered a coffee. The booths were a little tight.
We have eaten here many times dine in and takeout. The food is ALWAYS so so so good. Nice sized portions. Delicious and fresh. Its the service that needs work. Every time we have dined in the service is slow and scattered and you have to wait forever foe the bill. There are always dirty tables and it just seems disorganized. Like there are no sections they just work all over the place so if you get stuck in the back room you will probably be forgotten or wait for a long time. The servers are ery friendly and polite but as a previous server and front of house manager, it lacks organization and help on weekends. If they could get their busy times under control then this would be a 5* place for sure
Freshly renovated, great food, great service!
Excellent food, fantastic service, nice warm and quiet. This perfect little place is a must! Haddock & fries are great and it is served with best coleslaw! The pancakes and french toast are my kids favorites! Every server is wonderful! Thank you for a great family experience every time! Parking: Medium parking lot approx 24 spots, but its just perfect for the space inside.. Kid-friendliness: Nice place, quiet and my kids can feel comfortable. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, dinning room is wheelchair accessible as well as washrooms
I must say, the staff at this location are top notch! My Mum and I ordered Easter Dinner for the two of us for delivery, since Ive been in pain with a bad toothache and didnt want to disturb other customers with my groans of pain from trying to eat. I ordered a veal sandwich, and my Mum ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap. While the initial order had some issues, we were able to get them quickly resolved, and the amazing wait staff was more than accommodating and generous with getting this resolved for us. Highly recommended! Thank you to everyone involved, who was able to make this work for us.
The food was delicious, and they have massive portions and amazing prices. We will definitely be going again!
Hidden gem. Good food at good prices.
Really good place for breakfast. They serve lunch and dinner too but we didn t try that.
Fast friendly service and as usual the food was good. Parking: Limited parking on Sunday. Wheelchair accessibility: It is accessible with a wheelchair parking spot next to the entrance.
A group of us went there for breakfast and we were all satisfied. My husband said I should save the restaurants information as we will be going back there when we are in the area. Good job, guys!
Busy busy busy but good food. Service somewhat slow because of how busy they are so be prepared.
Had a great brunch home made burgers good fries. Havent been here since the remodel place looks Great
We were a party of five on April the 14. We all ordered a breakfast and our side of potatoes were all cold , and we were also served a chickpea salad with it which I found as a very odd combination, which no one ate. My biggest complaint is that the girl behind the counter greeted the guest from behind the counter by yelling to them at the door which I found rude and disrespectful. Not only to the customers coming in but to all the guests having to listen to it each time new customers arrive. A party of three came in and one was in a wheelchair and she made no attempts to help them at the table and remove one of the chairs. Food was mediocre at best and customer service was nonexistent.
Clean restaurant, Generous portions. Reasonable prices. Great breakfast menu. Food
Service was incredible, and for the price, the quantity was ALOT! Would recommend. 10/10
Nice little place breakfast was good meat was thick slices and eggs were cooked perfect only thing that wasnt great were the home fries they seemed undercooked and a bit cold even...other than that it was a pleasant experience
I love having breakfast here! Very delicious food, especially for the price.
Great food
Came here with family for breakfast. Delicious, huge portions, friendly staff. Definitely a win Vegetarian options: Lots. And with like..... actual vegetables, not just onions and peppers
The food was delicious. They forgot my Caesar salad.
Good food. Quite busy
Went here for breakfast. Didnt realize the quantity offered is going to be as good as that for lunch! Service was good and courteous. Food is good.. There are vegan options if youre one. Word of caution - vegan hash and Skillet are kind of one and the same with the latter having loads of cheese. I did a mistake of ordering both and had to literally skip lunch! Even the pancakes meant for kids were so high in quantity that my kids had to leave a few of them.
Great classic family diner with excellent hospitality and massive portions of delicious meals
Have picked up multiple orders through Uber and have always been greeted with kindness by the staff . Decided to finally sit down and try it out with my hubby today . Food was amazing and quick Katies service is the service I look for and expect when I go out to dine . I am very happy to say Im finally pleased for the first time in months of going out to eat. Will be back often
We visited for the first time at breakfast time and the food and staff are amazing! We left full! We will be back for sure to try out lunch and dinner at some point too!
Been here 3 times now, great local spot. Always busy, and there may be a long wait time on some days but it s worth it. We enjoyed all our food and nice to support local rather then a chain restaurant.
Over an hour wait for eggs wasn t even that busy.
Restaurant was very nice and food was good only draw back was that we waited a long time before someone took our order and then almost 50 mins before we got our food. When. We finally received our food it was good and portion sizes large. I thought they may acknowledge the wait big they did not. Would not return just due to how long it took.
Food and service were excellent.
Nice clean place but excessive wait times for pickups. One server is really quite nice but the older gal was very bitter and cold. Couldve been an off day but not great for someone in the service industry. Overall not great
The portions were big and the pancakes were great. However, the house fries were not crispy and were soggy. If you don t want to risk it, go with the hungry man option which looks like a good deal. Our waitress was great too!
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. Its a family style atmosphere and the food is incredibly good and the portion sizes are tremendous. Well worth the visit if youre in the Collingwood area. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself.
Excellent place to eat you never leave hungry
Friendly staff, generous portions, yummy food! Non-stop coffee refills & friendly locals.
Had a wonderful experience today at this restaurant, we waited to get in as the restaurant was packed, well worth the wait and we can see why it was packed, food was fantastic as we had breakfast, prices are good and service (Michelin) was outstanding, paid attention to detail and had a smile on her face that we loved, she was busy and very good at her job, we would Recommend this place to anyone visiting the area or who live around there
Seems to be going downhill.. The foods not great. The home fries really suck. The bacon is dried out or burnt. How do you mess up breakfast? Also the service is really horrible. They need more staff for sure.
Service is great, food is amazing. Such a cute little place
good portions, good food. large enough for team breakfasts and lunches!
Great food, big portion, tasty food, very friendly staff
Table of 6. Took forever to get food. 5 of us were all finished when last person was finally served.
Excellent environment..staff so friendly
Waited 50 minutes for meal. Waitress said this is normal. Food was cold. Never again.
This was truly the worst meal our family has ever had at a restaurant! Im not sure if this was an off-day, because it was packed. But it was disgusting. My daughters spaghetti was so salty she couldnt eat it. They grilled/toasted my Caesar wrap to death and so the lettuce was beyond soggy and made the whole thing taste awful. Fries were definitely day old. Hard. Most of them you couldnt even bite into. Burger was dry and from a box. All around terrible. Service was fine, but we left hungry. Its now a running family joke because it was memorable ... unfortunately not for the right reasons!
It doesnt look like much from the outside but the interior is lively.bthe service is friendly and the breakfast is delicious. Lots of selection.
Wow, amazing service front start to the finish. Its definitely a small town, family owned place, no big box/fast food atmosphere here. You want real food, great quantity and great price, look no further, this is the place. Its an amazing place. I definitely will be returning.
What a fantastic breakfast and the staff was excellent. What a great experience me and my wife had.
If your looking for a big breakfast in an old school diner setting here you have it! Definitely not the most photogenic meal that Ive had and thats not what this place is about! My meal ended up being the skillet that I didnt know I wanted! Great flavor, lots of hollandaise sauce and the potatoes were perfectly cooked not fried! My skillet was so large that I scooped some of my dads left over potatoes off his plate and added them to my take home box and got a second meal out of this breakfast! Great family breakfast spot with great service s and great food! I will be back
We were here 2 years ago and once back in town, we had to come back
Yum
Huge portions! Super fresh salad. We got the chicken skewers with sides. They were very generous with the potatoes! The kids loved the penne Alfredo pasta.
Salad was refreshing with breakfast
Delicious food, great value, huge portions, friendly staff
Nice restaurant & portions are generous/price.overall food is ok.
Good food. Low prices. Great atmosphere.
Everything great. Only recommended
My friend and I arrived in the doldrums between lunch and dinner, around 4 PM on a Monday. The place was more than half empty. My friend had a service dog with appropriate documentation with her, which she had on a leash. However, after we were seated in a corner and only provided with menus after a 10-15 minute wait, we were told to leave because the dog was unruly and too rambunctious for the restaurant (see pic of dog sleeping; hes not a big dog). My friend was prepared to show documentation for the dog but we were unceremoniously and rudely asked to leave in no uncertain terms.
This is an amazing Restaurant it could be the best. The food is amazing. We have gone there for breakfast a lot. Unfortunately today was the last time ! The eggs Benedict for both of us was very cold. The service was very slow, and paying for the meal took forever. Its one thing to be slow but bad when the food is cold. We will not go there again for that reason. We find it sad now we will have to find a new place to eat .
Very nice place open and bright....staff are freindly and nice.....the resturant has come long way over the years
Food was great. The service was a bit slow. But very friendly staff and Cuttest place on the inside.
Oh my goodness, the Julienne salad was huge and made up very nicely and my burger was large and delicious. And the 2 ladies working were very friendly and attentive
Amazing food! Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available Food : 5/5 |
Very nicely decorated restaurant service was great w ample attention to your coffee cup! Food was very good, was made fresh served hot and was very tasty. Very good breakfast spot!
One of Collingwood s best places for any time of day! With eye opening portions of food the classic dishes are delightful. One of our regular places to visit for the wonderful staff and fantastic food!
There s a reason they have two readers choice awards for last two years. The place is really nice and clean. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Food is absolutely delicious. The portion sizes amount to a fantastic value. The staff was incredibly accommodating. Thanks so much!
For a touristy town, the staff of this restaurant were bigoted and nasty. My companion needed to eat and we ended up at this restaurant with my pup Jazz, a therapy dog under the disability accommodation guidelines. He is very cute albeit a big pup at 60 pounds. At the restaurant which we had visited earlier, he was a big hit with lots of kisses from the youngish crowd. Unfortunately, my companion felt that she was unable to eat in this friendly hip restaurant due to food allergies where therapy dogs with proper papers were accepted. By the time that we reached Georgian family restaurant, my companion was extremely hungry. I might add that as well as having a documented disability, I am undergoing treatment for cancer and seem to be prediabetic. In any event, jazz did not misbehave and waited patiently with us to be seated and receive menus. It was only after about 20 minutes of rude stares that we were informed that we were not welcome regardless of the law documenting jazz as a therapy dog. There were no alternative restaurants or even any seats outside where I could have waited for my friend with my therapy dog outside. By the time that we got back to our temporary lodging, both jazz and I were feeling very unwell resulting in a misjudgment on my part resulting in a head injury followed by a second head injury shortly thereafter Luckily, the staff of the Collingwood hospital were not too busy and I got immediate treatment when I attended.
Very nice restaurant. It is deceiving as the exterior is drab, but the interior is very nice. Was pleasantly surprised Food : 5/5
Amazing spot
A friend of mine told me about this hidden gem. Outside is not pretty, but beautiful inside. Servers are very nice, food took a bit longer than expected first visit, fast on the 2nd visit. Serving sizes are insane. Way too big for one sitting, so always end up with leftovers. Amazing value. A new favourite spot.
Some colleagues and I came for breakfast last week. Every employee except the young hostess and a blonde lady running food from the kitchen had a horrible attitude. They messed up one of our orders and begin explaining to us to take food off one plate to put it on another, which is unacceptable. We asked for coffee refills and got attitude and headshaking. I will say the food was enjoyable, but for how few people there was in the restaurant, the amount of attitude from the staff was incredible. Again, the food was really good, but the way we were treated was not.
We like this restaurant BUT the food has always been on the cold side. I really hate cold food. We even tell them to bring it out hot but they can not seem to manage that. The sauce on the eggs Benedict is always cold. It is just awful. We only go when our fridge is empty and we have no choice. Other than that the quality of the food is not too bad for the price.
Waited an hour for our food. And server never came to table once asking if I wanted more coffee, I had to go ask another server for coffee. Do not recommend this place at all. Worst service i have ever seen
Ive been driving past this restaurant for years, but never went inside until a friend recently suggested it for our girls night out dinner. I liked it so much I brought other friends there for lunch a week later! This is going to be one of my go to places for restaurant meals. Great food, huge portions, varied menu, good prices, updated decor, friendly service, and Ive finally found a restaurant that serves one of my favourite comfort foods: a good, old-fashioned Julienne salad! The fries are excellent too, by the way. :) Parking: I went for a dinner on a night when the restaurant was quite busy, and was able to find a spot, as were my three friends who each brought their own car.
Good food and portions, great attentive service . Will definitely eat here again when back in Collingwood.
Been here many times and decided to have our baby shower here (obviously asked the restaurant beforehand) . Had a lot of people turn out (perhaps an overwhelming amount) and staff were incredibly friendly, the food was great and very plentiful (as is standard here), and served quite fast considering the large amount of different orders. Cant thank them enough for everything they did.
Has the chef been changed in the last few months??? This place USED to have STELLAR breakfast!! If it s a new chef or kitchen manager. Please get a new one. Haven t been in the last few months. Aside from the bacon and toast today s breakfast was HORRIBLE! Scrambled Eggs tasted off are you putting somthing new in your eggs? Are the scrambled eggs not fresh eggs? The hash browns used to be crispy with simple seasoning and fried onions . Today they were mushy and tasted off, no onions. Nothing screaming breakfast potatoes. didn t eat them after first two bites. When the food was out down I thought we got the wrong order. There was a side salad on the side? For breakfast? Really weird. Was told this was just garnish ? Green leafy lettuce with oily fried chickpeas and some sort of vinaigrette . This was the weirdest thing. It was literally a bowl of salad with breakfast. At 9am? For breakfast? Odd. Please go back to a simple slice of tomato or a piece of fresh fruit. Will come back as a regular if somthing is changed in the kitchen. Go back to the wonderful breakfast that it used to be. Also on a side note unfortunately Some of the newer faces in there mostly a girl with a short dark curtly type bob, sorry didn t see a name tag, early 30 s possibly Mayb the manager or kitchen manager (not The regular girls who have been here forever) were gossiping and complaining about the patrons in the door way to the kitchen and cash area. Very unprofessional and quite disrespectful.
We had our baby shower here because not only is the food amazing, the portions are huge and at a very good price. The service is always lovely. My favourite place to eat in Collingwood.
Always good food
Waited 55 minutes for food to come out, another 10 minutes for the rubber pancake. I will not return. Oh and the large crumbs in butter for pancake..less than appetizing.
Nice place. Friendly. The food however was lack luster. The homefries tasted like canned potatoes that were cold. My eggs were crazy overcooked. Told the server when paying and got no response just a blank stare from what appeared to be the owner. Fun. Wont be going back.
Good sized portion reasonable prices!
