A True Italian Experience! Visit us at 27 Fourth Street East, dine in or take out, Tuesday to Saturday, 5-10 pm. Voted one of the Top Rated Restaurants in Collingwood year after year. We look forward to serving you soon.
We were craving some old fashioned Italian food and we’ve previously tried Tesoro, so decided to give Brunello at 27 on Fourth a chance. With a 4.6 Google Review rating, we had moderately hopeful expectations. While Brunello’s does provide the obvious staples of a stereotypical Italian menu, it was, sadly, mostly disappointing. I started with a negroni, while my guest had the carpaccio. The negroni certainly wasn’t offensive, but neither was it particularly well-crafted. Hard to tell if it was pre-batched, but if it was, it didn’t hit the mark. A negroni is a fairly straightforward recipe. This wasn’t quite there. The carpaccio was similarly not especially well-received. I mean, it wasn’t that the meat was off or had any major consistency issues, it just didn’t feel right. And the presentation was circa 1970-1985. White plate, grill-marked bread, dollop of parm shavings in the middle, a single line of olive oil and cracked pepper. I mean, it’s fine. It’s just not new. Or interesting. And if the taste profile doesn’t elevate it, it’s just boring and not particularly well-done Italian-inspired food that can be found in many many places. The pasta came. We had gnocchi Pomodoro and ravioli con funghi. Again, I just felt it was very uninspired. And I could be wrong, but it really didn’t feel as though the pasta was house-made, especially in the case of the gnocchi. The ravioli, in particular, was overcooked and each parcel had split (as you can see in the photos). The sauce was a tad too rich and overly creamed. I guess if you can’t cook Italian and haven’t had really good pasta and sauce, this may feel like “a true Italian experience”, but having had expertly prepared Italian in multiple places, having made damn good pasta dishes myself and knowing a true Italian experience, this wasn’t it. There was dessert too, but it’s not really worth a detailed review, because it was cheesecake. I know this review sounds harsh, but when you go to an “Italian restaurant” and the quality is sort of on par with a generic chain restaurant serving everything from burgers, Tex-mex, pub food and pasta, then are you really distinguishing yourself? It’s not terrible. It just wasn’t really good. And the decor is a flashback to Italian-inspired restaurants from the 80’s to the 90’s, with the walls painted to mimic aged and cracked Italian plaster, replete with Chianti bottles in straw. My apologies to the owners and staff if you feel this is unwarranted, but perhaps it’s time to mix things up and create a more authentic menu with a few inspired twists.
This is one of the best Italian restaurants we have ever been to. Located in a beautiful century home, the space is both welcoming and warm. Wonderful servers who were not only friendly but knowledgeable about the entire menu. My childhood friends Mom made the most delicious gnocchi and I have been trying to find something that even comes close but have not found it until now. Everything was delicious and authentic but the gnocchi was as delicious as my memories from childhood.
Excellent Italian food. Very friendly staff. The desserts are wonderful and delicious 😋
Love this place!!! Super authentic Italian food. The chef is Italian as well!! Everything’s perfect!!! I enjoyed every single bite of my meal. Highly recommend this restaurant 🤍
Recently went for the very first time. Ordered the Saltimbocca alla Romana. It was fantastic. I really wish the accompanying veal manicotti could be ordered by itself as a pasta meal. Also ordered the Tiramisu and it was fantastic. Really recommend this restaurant
It was a goog family restaurant, and we liked the food. The staff were friendly, maybe a bit pushy with menu items for dessert, overall a nice experience. Issue was, it wasn't what we have expected. We've been hearing a lot about this restaurant from our friends; plus the Google reviews and all, so maybe we have been waiting for a big WOW after the first bite, but it was just a medium Italian food experience. Also, it our opinion, Seafood Linguine was overflowed with seafood and was nothing special about it, comparing with many others we have tried.
Hello Maria, Cynthia, Adriano & Adrian, Thank you so much for a most memorable and amazing dining experience this evening. Right from the start this afternoon your father Adrian welcomed me into his kitchen and you Maria accommodated my last minute reservation to the warm hospitality and service your brother Adriano offered us. It was very nice also to meet your mom Cynthia, her warm, welcoming smile. We felt like we were dining at your home with family. And the food...Mussels in White Wine Sauce, Ravioli Funghi, Veal Osso Buco so tender and flavorful and of course the dessert Crepe Suzette...each of the dishes looked amazing and tasted so good. It was very obvious that all the food was prepared with care, love and passion. Thank You! This is a real gem of a quality restaurant in Collingwood! We will be back every time we visit Collingwood.
We went here for Father's Day dinner and it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant is so cute and esthetic. We got to chat with the owner and she is such a lovely lady. Service is outstanding and food extraordinary. My 11 year old son also enjoyed it. For dessert, he asked for chocolate crepe, but they made orange one by mistake... When we pointed out, they apologized and happily made him a new one..
A family run restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service. Cynthia went out of her way to make our visit wonderful. We ll be happy to visit again.
Fifth visit, SUPERB
Absolutely WWWWWOWWWWW I Just ate there with my girls, we came close to closing hours but they accomodated us. Service is fantastic, food was PHENOMENAL!!!!!!
Amazing!
Excellent food and everything is homemade, including the pasta. The owner gave us a complimentary piece of tiramisu and it tasted just like my mother s
Good to have when come to blue mountain
My husband and I always have the best experience at Brunello. The food is delicious, the family is kind and attentive and the atmosphere is great!
This restaurant was an absolute delight to visit! My mother-in-law, myself and my partner came here to celebrate her 40th birthday while visiting Collingwood for the day. We were surprised to learn that this cute restaurant, nestled in a neighborhood home, was a family run restaurant! The food and service were excellent and they were very accommodating with holding a birthday cake, plating, and serving it! It really made our night feel very special. Not too many restaurants will go out of their way like this so I can t recommend this place enough!
I will start by saying having dined at thousands of restaurants I have never walked out of one before we started however there is a first time for everything. We planned a special birthday for my 7 year old daughter. We were two families for 4 each with two children each (ages 2 through 7). For those that have kids you may understand that as soon as they sit at a table they become hungry. Knowing this and to alleviate any issues with the restaurant I proceeded to place our family style orders in advance, which the restaurant seemingly accomodated and welcomed. Our reservations were for 7pm and when we arrived the restaurant was not full. We were barely acknowledge and after a while we were then seated. After about 10 minutes someone came to the table to ask if we wanted water. Then we waited and waited and waited. As the time passed the children grew increasingly hangrey and there was a coupled next to us that I assume wanted a quite evening so they asked to be moved which is completely reasonable. After 42 minutes of waiting since they brought our water I went in search of our server. In the meantime guests seated after us had already been served drinks and orders taken. At this points the kids were extremely hungry and I explained this was the reason I pre-ordered. The server again disappeared. Our kids were being loud I assume because the. The owners wife simply closed the doors on us to this private room without even saying anything. That was the last straw. After 50 minutes of waiting and 2 bottles of water we got up and left. We had high expectations for this occasion and unfortunately it seemed as we were a bother to them. The lack of professionalism and hospitality shocked me. While the food may have been good I would never recommend anyone going here. We fortunately stumbled upon a fabulous Italian restaurant a few steps away (Tesoro) they graciously accomodated us at the last minute, got a table ready for 8 in 5 minutes it took us to walk over. Food and drinks came out within 20 minutes of our arrival and the taste was absolutely amazing. We ended up buying 10 jars of their pasta sauce as it was so good.
If you read reviews from other patrons please recognize that this restaurant does its best to discretely create the best dining experience for all. I was enjoying date night, and I have to say I love kids and have 8 of my own, but there was a table with rowdy children next to us and the owner quietly closed the doors so we could have some peace. Isn t that respectful? Two other tables got up and left all because of these children which was unfortunate for this family run business. This world has gotten so selfish that people walk around not knowing how they impact others. Then they take the time to write one sided incorrect reviews without realizing that pre ordering food and leaving without paying a dime is very impactful to a small restaurant. Brunellos creates ambiance and combines attentive service with high quality delicious food. Don t believe everything you read. Try it for yourself. You will never meet people that care more, and give you a little taste of Italy in Collingwood.
look, food is great. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the appetizer, and main finally showed up after 2 hours of waiting. the table that came before us got their main after we paid the bill. which was a whopping 2.5hr wait. save yourself the wait. go somewhere else. no pasta is worth 2.5hrs wait.
My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary. The food was incredible! Lots of flavors and fast service. The restaurant is in a old house thats been converted. Would definitely recommend
THE place to go for great Italian food. Dont decide ahead of time, as the daily specials are always very good. Take advantage of their wine list too. You will not be disappointed.
We enjoyed a fabulous meal a few years back and decided to return for another great meal. Reservation was for 7:30 ordered our food at 7:50 pm. At 9:00 we enquired about our food and were told they assumed we got our meal. The server returned and advised us the order was never delivered to the kitchen Problem being we had multiple servers attending enquiring about our water and drinks. I will not return Said
Exceptional Italian food. Ordered delivery first time and was amazing. This time we dined in. Great service too!! Highly recommend. Best restaurant in collingwood I would say!!
This is authentic Italian cuisine with exceptional service. Highly recommend.
Food was delicious, service was great, and I found the atmosphere very calming and welcoming.
What an incredible place. The food was top notch, the service even better and the owner was such a kind woman. We ll be back!!
Incredible little place. A must dine place in Collingwood!!
Had a great experience dining here! We ordered the veal, the chicken pesto pasta, the cannoli and the tiramisu. Everything was to die for! Really recommend it to whoever is in Collingwood.
Everything is really exquisite. We ate Penne pasta with pesto with chicken and Vitello with marsala, we drank red wine and for dessert we had tiramisu and cannoli. The owner attended us, very friendly and hospitable. He speaks Spanish, Italian and English. Highly recommended!
Poor service, we were very disappointed on a family event. inexperienced ownership makes for a very poor experience. Unfortunately we won t be back again.
5 Stars across the board. Great atmosphere and service and some of the best Italian food we ve had in a long time. Portion sizes were large and filling .. so much so they we all had to pass on dessert but we ll save room next time. Thank you for making the end of our day such a tasty one. Parking: Metered street parking but was free when we went. Kid-friendliness: Yes. Couple tables had kids who seemed to be enjoying the food and were very well behaved
My husband and I spent my birthday there yesterday. It was exactly the romantic mood we were looking for. The food and service was incredible. Definitely will come back. Muchas gracias Paul & Gabriela
We came to Collingwood just to check out the Scenic Caves Nature Adventure and booked Brunello for dinner. Coming from Toronto, I wasnt too keen when we arrived and I saw that it was a restaurant out of a house. Never judge a book by its cover is extremely true here because I am a very picky eater and I can not say a single negative thing about the food or the experience. Lately, I have been wanting a good Risotto and all the places (I am no food expert or a connoisseur) I have tried it at so far have not been great, mostly soggy. I finally found a place with a Risotto that I love. I got the Risotto Funghi.
Awesome place! Went on a weekend trip to Collingwood and was told Brunellos was one of the best restaurants in town. I have to agree. The food was amazing, great atmosphere, the server was the best and the chef even came out to greet us. That rarely happens! Definitely going back.
Best restaurant I have ever visited. Came here for my anniversary with my girlfriend and eating here felt like I was truly immersed in Italy. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and it felt like we were personally invited by the chef and servers. Thank you to Adriano and Chef Adrian for an unforgettable experience. Food was hot, incredibly tasty, and made my mouth water. Service was incredibly friendly and it felt so personal. Even talked to the owners and our server for a while after we finished. This restaurant was the highlight of my trip, and if you were to ever come to Collingwood and want the best and most authentic Italian experience, come to Brunello s! Will be returning again, and this restaurant holds a special place in my heart.
Brunello is an amazing Italian Restaurant. Its atmosphere, the Brians service and the magnific food, everything is perfect. We chose Brunello to celebrate our 20 years anniversary. I did not regret. Much brtter than we planned
Great food! Great atmosphere! Gracious and thoughtful service. Highly recommended!
Amazing experience at Brunello. The food is delicious, portions are perfect and the service was fantastic. Thank you to Adriano and Angel you guys made our experience one to remember. Thank you for accommodating us, I know it was last minute but you guys exceeded our expectations. Special thanks to the chef Adrian. We shall see you again.
Where do i begin? Beautiful atmosphere, went there for my anniversary after a horrible experience at another restaurant the prior night and had zero regret. The food is amazing, if you re unsure whether you will enjoy it or not, have no doubt. Everything was so fresh: this is the kind of food I would drive the distance for and, in fact, my boyfriend and I have already planned our next trip up to Collingwood just to visit. We were so amazed by the food we ordered, the drinks, and the dessert we had asked to speak to the owner of the restaurant to give our compliments as everything ordered was beyond expectation. You can tell the chef truly has a passion, all the food was made with that Italian love. The service was amazing, our server Adriano was so friendly, took the time to check in on us, converse with us, and as a matter a fact every worker we had spoken to had given us amazing service, always checking in on us, stopped to take the time to converse with us about our cultures, and even shared their beautiful stories of their travels. Truly felt like we were family friends. 100/10 service for the books. Anyone who gives this restaurant a bad rating I wouldn t pay much attention to as they must not like flavourful food or authentic culture. if I could give more stars I would, I cannot wait to visit again. YOU MUST COME HERE !
Very good service, waitstaff was lovely, and for the most part our food was good, not great but good. Theres just some odd things about the restaurant that I feel like people should know. They dont seem to serve any bread here, which for an Italian restaurant, even a high end one is strange. I had a lovely pasta dish with great sauce, but not bread to soak it up with. We had an antipasto platter, again, no bread, not even a few crostini. There was also just one slice of proccuto and it tasted rotten. Mains were good, but the menu had like....6 veal options?? I totally get having two or even 3, but there were more dishes with veal than with chicken or even beef combined. Basically they need an update on the menu and to invest in a bread oven.
Overpriced for the food we had. Not to mention my moms $60 steak got sent back for being undercooked while everyone else at our dinner party ate. When the steak finally arrived it was now burnt with no flavour. We received no compensation or care that everyone at this point except for one person, had finished their meal. Will not be returning.
The culinary scene frustrates me greatly these days. To find a restaurant that takes pride on all levels, or any level for that matter, seems impossible. Well last night I found one of those gems. We visited Brunello at 27 on Fourth for the first time, and finally a restaurant that understands the culinary industry. We had the opportunity to meet Chef Adrian, his son Adriano and daughter Maria. This family delivers on all levels. The service was excellent to say the least; we were made to feel at home. The freshness, quality and flavour of Chef Adrian s creations were second to none. My friend had the Penne al Pesto con Pollo and I had a feature pasta Linguine Tuitto Mare with lobster. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the freshness and flavour of each dish was spot on. A delicious meal and satisfying experience. For desert we had the classic Tiramisu; this was a Chef Adrian personal recipe and I must say, probably the best we ve had. Adriano, thank you, and we will see you again
Delicious food in a lovely setting. Service was excellent and we were seated right away.
Words can t describe what an incredible evening we had at Brunello. The owner , Cynthia and her family not only made us feel like we were part of the family, but the dishes were mouth watering! Brunello is a warm and cozy little spot. The food and service are a 10/10. Don t forget to make a reservation. It s a MUST VISIT in Collingwood!
Nice place nice service nice food best value for everything, and thanks for making the special drink for my kids
My partner invited me to dinner at Brunello for my birthday and it was a fantastic experience. The food is delicious and the service unbeatable. We recommend it 100% and of course the next time we go we will repeat. Dont miss the wonderful desserts!
yum
Excellent service and food
Simply amazing. Thanks for a great Italian experience. What a delightful surprise for us to find this hidden gem in the heart of Collingwood. The food, service and the ambiance were all just beautifully done. I am sure to come back to Brunello whenever I am in town.
Desperately needs a renovation inside . Really ugly.
Totally recommend! Been here multiple times - food is authentic and services is outstanding! Must visit
My husband and I visit Brunellos every year for our anniversary (and many other times during the year!). It is such a special evening - the food is excellent, the service is stellar, efficient and friendly, the ambiance is wonderful and it is our favourite restaurant in Collingwood. They put amore into everything they do and it shows - every time! Highly recommend it!
Pretty decent food, but the interior is really old, tacky and needs a major facelift. Anyone that says this is like an Italian house hasn t been to Italy.
very good food :) really depressing interior, though. They claim is supposed to look and feel like an old Italian home .. well, it looks like a bad winners display. I m sorry.
Cathy and I had a wonderful time with Jennifer and Jason Arnold a Brunellos. Excellent quisine, ambiance and super service. Well worth the two hour drive. We will be back.
Fantastic meal & service. Can t wait to go back. Thank you
Outstanding experience! Adriano was an absolute gem! His service was possibly only outshined by the increbible food. We celebrated my wifes 50th birthday over the holidays and could not have been happier with the hospitality, the special accommodations and the lovely area set aside for the eight of us. I am told next year she will be turning 50 again...so we will be back :) Thank you Brunellos Team for the wonderful memories!
Been to this establishment twice now and absolutely love the food here. The burrata is amazing, as are their pastas. If youre at Blue Mountain, skip the village food and hit up this local restaurant instead. You
Amazing. The best service. To quality food that hit the mark every time. Most fine dining spot wish they could live up to this standard!!! Take nice kids. Kid-friendliness: Amazing with kids.
This place is a gem! I haven t been so happy with a restaurant or a meal in so long. Our meals were amazing, the staff was wonderful, and the atmosphere is magic. An authentic representation of Italy, and all around delicious meal! Thank you so much for the amazing experience, Brunello!
Fantastic dinner and great atmosphere.
This place is fantastic. I have lived in Collingwood for 32 years. In the last month I have rediscovered Brunello. The family run business is incredible. It is now my favourite restaurant. They made us feel like family and not just guests. Angel is an amazing waitress. I absolutely love the food, the atmosphere and the family. Thank you all, Pistachio Guy ;)
Excellent Italian restaurant!!! The food is delicious, warm decor, excellent service.
Brunellos is a experience, the food is exceptional. If youre looking for a nice night out with a amazing service and a warm atmosphere check this place out. The food is to die for.
Amazing food and service!! Definitely recommend!
Delicious traditional Italian food. Our dinner tasted great and was well presented and the service was as expected.
The food was phenomenal. If you want authentic Italian food this is the place. The shrimp and calamari appetizer is a must have.
Great food and service! Would recommend to others. Thank you!
Great meal in a nice setting.
This is our favourite restaurant in Collingwood. We love the ambience: the dining rooms are in an old house with creaking hardwood floor, nicely decorated. We love the food: it is always delicious, never disappoints. The service is very good too. This is a great place for a weekend dinner for couples or families.
Amazingly authentic Italian cuisine. Food was delicious and the servings were very generous. Highly recommended. We will return.
Very delicious Italian food! We had been here before but wanted to come back with friends after skiing at Blue Mountain. We were not disappointed. All the food was fantastic and we had a wonderful time with friends. Everyone enjoyed it!
Mushroom Ravioli was under done, under stuffed. Wheelchair accessibility: Its up a flight of out door stairs in a converted modest older home. Seating on the main and second floor.
Thought we would try a new place for my bday and the regret is real. The waiter was arrogant and when asked questions about the meal he knew basically nothing. The atmosphere is faux Italian, very cheesy and the food was underwhelming. Think heat lamp cruise ship buffet with a Tuscan twist. A few apps were ok at best, hence the 2 stars, but the mains were obviously reheated and half Branzino was frozen. Dollar for Dollar worst place in Collingwood and arguably one of the worst places Ive ever eaten. Honestly, any of the fast food joints in town would have been a better experience. An Applebys off the interstate in the southern US would get a better ranking from me. Do not eat here for ANY reason.
10/10 experience and food! I had the funghi ravioli and my fiancé had the veal shank. We came here to celebrate a birthday and our engagement and the service was impeccable. Ambiance was lovely and they even crafted a special drink for me that was not on the menu. A truly special fine Italian restaurant!
Not worth the money. I have had way better Italian food at better prices. Wanted to try it out, looked good, had good reviews, but unfortunately it was disappointing. Priced way to high for what it is. Save yourself a trip, eat somewhere else.
If you want a really great Italian home made food. This is the place to come in Collingwood with excellent service by Cynthia
BRILLIANT food, service, ambience and all round we had a fantastic evening. This family owned restaurant was just the best dinner we had in Collingwood and we were hosting our largest corporate client so had 35+ people dining at Brunellos. It could not have been a better evening and Maria (the co-owner) was so helpful getting us all set up and ready for the event. Everyone loved the food! Thank you to you all. We will certainly be back.
My husband and I didnt have a reservation but they fit us in. Fabulous meal! Food : 5/5
Food was out of this world. Server Brian provided impeccable service. Of course we will be returning soon. A must in Collingwood.
The food was acceptable, the restaurant is small and crowded
Disappointing Meal Weve long thought Brunellos was the best restaurant in Collingwood, and would go there for special occasions. However we had a meal last night that was disappointing. I had the tortellini. It was an overly large, (offputting) serving, with a really bland sauce, and not enough of it, so kind of dry. My wife had veal marsala, again an offputtingly large serving, and again the sauce didnt really seem like marsala. Green beans were spotted brown, and undercooked.
As always a wonderful dining experience. Cindy is such a delight and goes beyond to make you feel special. The food is always fantastic. My husband and I both highly recommend this restaurant. Always call to get reservations. You dont want to be disappointed and not get in. So good!!!
This place was absolutely amazing! The food was so delicious - the calamari and the Chefs sauce were some of the best ever, and the pasta was so authentic. Even better was the service - the owner was so sweet and made me feel extra special while celebrating my birthday there. Not to mention the home vibe that you get with the design/layout. Will definitely be returning when we are back in Collingwood - I highly recommend!!!
One of the best restaurant experiences we have had in Collingwood! Great staff, incredible cozy atmosphere and the food was amazing. Two in our party are Italian, and they raved about the Antipasto Rustico and Linguine Tutto Mare! It s a must if you re in Collingwood!
Simply Fantastic! No over-the-top phrases can truly capture this place. Service? Spot-on. Owner? Truly cares. Food? Deliciously authentic. If you love Italian food, youll love this place. Check it out!
I took my girlfriend out on a date here, the place has a very cozy vibe. Our server was also the owner named Cynthia. I am a vegetarian, while not many options on menu she was very accommodating and made an off menu dish for me. My girlfriend loved the food here, it has now became her favorite Italian spot. Definitely revisiting!
Excellent food, quiet restaurant for family
I had an amazing dinner here yesterday. The service and quality are top notch. If you re looking for a quality place I encourage you and friends to check this place Parking: Lots of free parking
My friends and I had dinner at Brunellos and the food was amazing. Authentic Italian food. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Family owned and operated. We had the pleasure of having Cinzia, the owner, serve us. Her son and husband prepare the meals! Her daughter is the creative mind behind the amazing cocktail drinks. We had the Branzino, Mushroom Ravioli and the Venison Meatballs. Try the award winning Tiramisu!
Here is my honest and blunt review. We ate here last week and the food was honestly, pretty damn great. The veal and gorgonzola gnocchi was great, the calamari and shrimp were well portioned and dusted, the salads were all very good - overall from a food perspective we were all happy. From the outside the establishment looks quaint, warm and cute. However, the inside is actually a bit of a mess. Bad fake Tuscan art, fake grapes (I mean... really?), the lighting is incredibly bright with a mixture of LED and warm potlights that blind you if you ever so look up. Do yourself a favor and dim them. It does not feel high-brow or cozy one bit. There was splatters of food on the wall in our booth from the person before us I presume which concerns me about cleanliness. The ambience and echo is so loud that you feel like you are listening on everyones conversations. Little to no music playing out loud. The inside needs a MAJOR facelift and reconfiguration. I know they might think they know decor, but this needs help. But, like I said the food itself was very good. Portion size was good too.
- Service on the patio was non existent and had to remind for 3 items and go inside to order a drink. - $60 Beef was over cooked and felt like half a serving. - Fried Calamari tasted boiled and no taste. Id suggest to focus on service and food quality before rasing prices that high. The manager was very pleasant though and did try to make up for it. This place does have potential.
First time experiencing this restaurant and from all the high reviews we expected great things. The night started off great - the cocktails were amazing and the complimentary bruschetta was very good as well. Unfortunately, as the night went on the waitress seemed to forget about us. Other waitresses and waiters would check in on us while our main waitress would remember to get our food and disappear again and forget. The main courses were a little disappointing - portions were massive and the veal was gummy. The rice had way too much truffle oil which caused stomach issues for one guest the next day. The Nutella cheesecake was great and the tiramisu was a little disappointing. When it came time to pay the bill, the waitress was utterly confused on how to split it three ways. I had to explain the math a few times before I gave up and paid the total (we had to e-transfer each other afterwards- which wasn t a big deal but surprising that this was such an issue). The prices are definitely a bit too high for the quality and the decor is old and needs an update - it doesn t necessarily give you the vibes that the place is clean.
Really enjoyed the service and seafood pasta.
Cinzia the owner took care of our table Friday night. She was just incredible. Her attention to every detail made our night extra special. They have a GREAT thing goin on at Brunellos in Collingwood...1 of very little places run by a family. What fantastic food and fantastic people. Well be back!
Lovely old house in Collingwood. Very compact so definitely need a reservation. I ordered the pasta Tutte Mare and it came with more seafood than I could eat! Shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels and more! Generous portions. Lovely white tablecloths but still a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent service. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free penne was available for a surcharge.
Authentic and fresh Italian cuisine. My fiancé and I decided to come to Brunello for our anniversary and we were so pleased we chose here! Cynthia, our server/owner was was an excellent host was very friendly and attentive. This spot is a super intimate and homey environment - the food is super fresh and authentic I felt like I stopped back into my nonnas kitchen. We will be retuning!
We just had quite possibly the best meal Ive ever eaten . From the brushetta starter, the mussels , into the main specials with lobster and veal chop ( the best Ive ever had ) this meal was spectacular, the service was amazing, being taken care of by the owner and her family. Full service family owned and operated authentic Italian cuisine, a truly amazing meal, with amazing hosts, we will be back!! Thank you.
Food was amazing! Family owned and operated. Real Italian food that was truly spectacular. If you are in Collingwood, this restaurant is a must!
Food was good, but it did not make up for the awful service and having to swat away mosquitos all night (we were dining indoors). One of the rudest waiters I have ever encountered. Will not go back and do not recommend.
Absolutely fantastic. Easily some of the best Italian food Ive ever eaten
Wow, the food is out of this world delicious. Cozy atmosphere. Service was great. Met the chef. Hes phenomenal at his job clearly. My family is Italian, eats a lot of great italian... And this blew us away in every sense. Will DEFINTIELY return next time were in town
A truly authentic Italian experience. The meal was delicious. The family and staff were wonderful. We came from Pennsylvania and enjoyed Canada Day!
Beautiful little place. Eat the best Ossobuco Ive ever had. Cant wait to go back. Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating to our children. Brought out a treasure chest for the kids to get a treat. Great family run restaurant.
Delicious food and wonderful service!
Excellent place! Great discovery!
The food is fresh and tasty. Their appetizers were generous and full of flavour, clearly using top notch ingredients and carefully presented. Their pasta is well cooked and nicely accompanied with delicious sauce, in particular their pesto pene dish was flavourful and generous. The service is courteous and friendly. Definitely would recommend it.
My friends and I had an amazing evening at Brunello. The service from Cynthia was outstanding. The food portions were generous. The quality of seafood was spectacular. It was a flawless dinner experience. I will certainly be coming back. Thank you very much Cynthia and team!
Food was excellent and so was our waitress, amazing service!!
Fantastic food and service!
Food here is mindblowing! They are a family run restaurant and really put their heart into what they serve! The staff is super friendly. We had the shrimps appetizer and pesto pasta both were delicious. For desserts we had their tiramisu and cannoli, both were great. Definitely worth the price!
Very cool spot. The service was fast and kind , the food was really good and overall had a very cute date here. I am a sucker for an old house it has a lot of charm and character but that was definitely outshined by the staff and food
I love the atmosphere, so cozy and charming. Nicest staff! And the FOOD is amazing. The mussels in white wine sauce added 10 years to my life. Everyone I ve dined with here raves about their meals.
Party of 4 for a birthday and the food here truly was fantastic. We unanimously agreed it was the best calamari weve ever had. Our server, perhaps having a bad night, wasnt overly friendly or attentive...the running joke at our table was if he was mad at us. Overall a good experience since theres always comedy in everything.
First time eating here and the food was amazing. The place was also cozy and romantic. I just wish the service was on par with the food. Our server did come even come check on us once after he dropped off the food. He was not very friendly at all. Maybe it was a bad day for him but the food made up for the lack of service. I ordered the seafood linguine in the white wine sauce. It was flavourful and delicious. The portion was huge! The tiramisu was also delicious. Couldnt finish all the food and had to pack home.
One of the best meals I ve had!! The calamari was tender and delicious! Venison meatballs were spectacular! Shrimp in tomato sauce delicious - and nicely spicy! Outstanding value and better quality. I will be back for sure!
A birthday dinner for two, intimate and lovely room, ultra romantic window/corner table, excellent and attentive service, (Chef s son did a walk around with a personal check in, and we had a nice hello from himself on the way out!) various dishes were absolutely delicious, hot, very generous in size from appetizers through mains and an insanely good Tiramisu that we could barely finish! Exceptional night and while fully expecting a $$ check , we both agreed it was fantastic value! A most excellent dinner event, will certainly be back and happy to share Brunello with our friends, et looking for a lovely dining experience in Collingwood!
First time here absolutely the best food in a long time. Rich flavorful food cant wait to go back
What a lovely place!! Service superb. Food even better. Will be back for sure.
Food was not authentic Italian - mediocre at best. Veal parm tasted like processed meat and apps were not good.
Osso buco with mushroom risotto was very good, family restaurant treats you like family
An amazing experience for our first time here! The waitress was super knowledgeable, kind and accommodating! We will definitely be back!
Very quiet compared to other times we have dined at Brunellos. The grated cheese (parm) is not freshly grated so take my advice and pass.
Such a little gem in collingwood. Yummy Italian dishes, intimate and cosy atmosphere and wonderfully attentive service. Great spot for date night or a weeknight dinner outing.
My wife and myself have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity in our life having been introduced to great cuisine, and being ex Montrealers we know how lucky we were to experience fabulous restaurants. Im not one to write posts, but I must honestly comment on how fantastic our dinner was this Valentines Day, Bravo to the New Owners! You shall certainly see us again
Ambiance 4 Service. 3.5 Food. 3.5 Nice cozy little restaurant. Most Service staff in the collingwood area seem to have a sense of entitlement. Before covid it was the same Food is well prepared and generous but a bit tasteless.
Nice romantic atmosphere. Small dining area, great service.
Nice cozy restaurant. Appetizers were great. Mains were a little disappointing. Overall, it was nice but not great. Service, unfortunately was slow. Dont know if it was the kitchen.
I have never had a better restaurant experience than I had here. Service, food, and atmosphere all 10/10. Already planning to visit Collingwood again soon just so we can eat here again!
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Service was amazing (Adriano). Food was the best authentic Italian I have had in a long time. The ossobuco was melt in your mouth tender. Ambiance was great, environment was incredibly welcoming, and staff was fantastic. Will 100% dine here again.
My wife and I each shared Caeser salad, melone & Prosciutto, and both had Vitello saltimbocca. Topped with cappuccinos and Tiramisu for desert. Excellent, tasty and filling meal. Nice intimate atmosphere, tasty and filling meals.
Had a wonderful experience last night. Amazing food. Outstanding service. Our server Angel went above and beyond. We absolutely loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It was also very reasonably priced. This is definitely our new go to dinner spot !
Gnocchi in gorgonzola sauce was amazing, and excellent service, very attentive and very kind and accommodating, especially our waitress, Susan.
Visited Brunello s in Collingwood for the first time April 23rd, 2022. One word comes to mind. Outstanding. Every single thing was perfect. The food was amazing - the figs with mascarpone cheese to mushroom ravioli, veal Marsala and tiramisu. The service by Adriano and his family was as good as I have ever had and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. To top it off, we couldn t get an Uber as it was late so Adriano even drove us back to our hotel. That s a first for me. If that isn t over and above exceptional service I don t know what is! Thank you so much to Adriano. We will absolutely be back! Steve Sarney
One of the best restaurants Ive ever been too. Our meal was excellent. Adriano took very good care of us and even drove us back to our hotel when we couldnt get a cab!! Cant wait to go back. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
Best Italian fine dining in all of simcoe County. Truly authentic dishes made to perfection.
We went for our 30th anniversary dinner and had an awesome experience. Wonderful atmosphere, and our server provided great recommendations. Is it on the pricey side? Sure... but it is fantastic value: quality food, prepared deliciously, and you leave satisfied.
We had a wonderful meal at Brunello s, this past Saturday. Angel our server was excellent and knowledgeable providing us with vivid descriptions of the specials. We shared calamari on a bed of warm beans as a starter, amazing way to begin the meal. My partner had the Arctic char, one of the specials and it was cooked to perfection. I had the saltimbocca , it was melt in my mouth delicious. We finished off with a shared gelato with expresso. A perfect finish to a fine dinner. Most enjoyable and we will be back!
Everything we ordered was delicious! The service was warm and professional. The atmosphere was also very comfortable, this is a nice restaurant to visit for either a night out or to impress family, or to go on a date. I highly recommend!
One of our best meals in Collingwood. Exceptional food and service staff.
A gem in Collingwood. The veal in Vitello Pizzaiola was so tender it melt it your mouth. Ravioli con Funghi has a really rich taste of truffle. The tiramisu is AMAZING, one of the best I have in Canada.
What an amazing experience! While working in town we decided to give it a try. The restaurant didnt disappoint. A small place, but cozy, we were given a table although we didnt have a reservation. Food was delicious and presentation was impeccable. The ravioli filled with mushrooms and porcine truffle sauce was fenomenal. Will be back for sure!
Cynthia was very attentive and shared a lot of detail about how the meals are prepared. This is very much a family owned restaurant who actively manage and have created an atmosphere that reflects the best of Italian dining tradition. The small touches such as complimentary bruschetta have won us over. Service is extraordinary! Will be back soon!
We went, last night, for my husbands 75th and just had the most wonderful evening! Adriano was a fabulous waiter/owner with a great personality! The food was just out of this world! It is like traveling to Italy and having a home made meal! We cant wait for our next visit! Thank you to Adriano and his family!
What a gem. Amazing good and old-school Italian charm. Our waiter was the owner (who is Italian) and his father and grandfather were both working in the kitchen. The food was off the charts and the place has a warmth to it you just can t get with new restaurant that focus so much on the look versus the feel. The previous restaurant we were at the week before was harbor sixty in Toronto and if you asked me which one I would go back to first . this place would win. You will love it there. Great place for a date or anniversary too. Well done!
Fantastic service! Family owned restaurant, really enjoyed talking to the server, who was the chefs wife. Delicious food, thank you chef.
The food was amazing here! Even better than the food was the hospitality we received from all the staff. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, like you are having a dinner party at a friends house.
Absolutely fantastic! We ve been coming to Brunello s for 10 plus years and it s always been a favourite when we visit Collingwood. This was our first time since the new owners and they did not disappoint. Service, ambiance, and of course the food were all incredible. We re very happy you re carrying on this tradition.
If you are looking for a fancy night out in Collingwood this is THE place to go. This is our second time and the food is PHENOMENAL. Literally everything is so good, and the portions are extremely generous. They do not skimp on the seafood! My menu faves are the carpaccio, the caesar salad (literally the best I ve ever had) and the chocolate raspberry tartufo. The staff are super friendly and down to earth. Chef Adrian even came out to say hello last time we dined. Best Italian food outside of Italy.
Best restaurant we ve been to in Collingwood. Homemade pasta was excellent. We had gnocchi, tortellini, ravioli - all fresh and very tasty. Pasta e fagioli , lentil soup, also excellent.
Was here for our anniversary dinner and had an absolutely amazing dinner. Cynthia, our server, was wonderful! The food was so good that my wife and I shared multiple appetizers and dinner together. Wonderful location for a date night or even a night out with friends. The ambience was great as well!
Amazing food, amazing staff, a must try!
A gem of a restaurant. A converted home, quaint and dining spread over 2 floors. The food was excellent. We opted for the saltimbocca and the veal limone - both were top-notch. Portions size was good and veggies were nicely cooked. I had their mojito - very good quality and actually had alcohol you could taste. Husband went off-menu for his dessert - plain crepes served with honey on the side (chef added fresh fruit too). Service was attentive but not intrusive. Best restaurant we have found in Collingwood.
Authentic delicious food. Family atmosphere. I ve been to many Italian restaurants, the best ones out there and I was surprised by the quality. Decor was very authentic too like Donatello or Vatican s in downtown Toronto- same vibe. Definitely try it. The mushroom ravioli was so delicious I ll be back for it next time I come to blue mountain.
Not a lot of vegetarian options. Washroom was upstairs. Definitely not handicap accessible area. Otherwise great food and nice staff.
I came here on Saturday and was blown away by the quality of food and level of service. I cannot recommend this place enough. I will be coming back regularly with family and friends. PS. Adriano makes the BEST negronis. Thank you!!!!
Added 1 for pandemic Service not bad overall. Just a bit of resistance into splitting the bills into 2 parties. We were a large table. Food was ok overall, besides that my wife chewed on plastic pieces in her seafood pasta. We didnt mention it as they seemed busy. Our grounp agreed that some of the dishes like the sea bass and seafood pasta tasted bland, lacked flavor. Not to the point that its a bad dish. A nice platter bruschetta(please pronounce brusKetta), cheese, olive and cold cut came as complementary as surprise. The seabass, although came in a smaller than expected plate, had much more oz of meat than I expected. Too bad there isnt a kids menu, despite they can customize something for them but would still come at a decent cost. They do have a treasure chest for kids to grab some treasures home at the end, which is a happy ending... There are candies inside the bathrooms. Very nice gesture, although quite nasty if you think about it, glad my older kid stopped my younger one from taking the washroom . The vibe is nicely Italian and cozy, dishes mostly felt authentic Italian, besides the Alfredo penne that was quite American and too cheesy. It was extremely slow. It was however a Tuesday night, where typically the top chefs should be off. Its a place Id suggest to visit if you happen to be at blue mountains.
Not worth the visit.
Food looks great was hoping to give it a shot but got turned away instantly at the door because we had no reservation. Noticed 6 open tables in my quick scan of the dinning room and patio combined. This was at 8:30pm and they close at 10. Oh well their loss not mine.
Wonderful food and exceptional service. What more could you ask for! Thank you Cynthia & Maria!
Great small family run authentic Italian restaurant! We all loved it. Vegetarian options: Lovely Risotto Parking: Ample parking on the road and behind restaurant
The meal was fantastic. Very tasty, served hot and fresh. Our waiter Brian was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We had a reservation but arrived early and they were able to seat us on the pati at our table . It was a lovely meal and will definitely be back.
How did this restaurant get such good reviews? The Food The apps were good, but just a charcuterie board, so not that difficult to achieve. The Linguine Tutto Mare was absolutely disgusting. The seafood was overcooked and none of the clams were opened which means they were dead. The pasta was not fresh it was dried pasta, for a $38 plate of pasta it should be freshly made. The red sauce was like a watery soup at the bottom of the plate, more water than sauce. It was tasteless. Seriously the worst pasta with seafood we have ever had, in fact the worst pasta we have ever had. The tiramisu was also the worst we have had. These are two basic Italian dishes, if you cant get this right, you shouldnt be in fine dining. Outrageously priced for what you get. This place needs to find a new chef. The Service The matradee was a grumpy old man who had a hard time finding our reservation. He told us repeatedly that we had to have a reservation because they are full. We repeatedly told him we had a reservation. Then a younger man came by to show him the reservation. I think he was the one who took it in the first place and knew it was there. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance It is in an old house that is in need of a face lift. It was very hot and musty. If you have allergies, you will have an issue with this place. They could use some air purifiers to help with the mustiness. Maybe people ordered something other than the seafood pasta to give this place good reviews, maybe its because its a new owner/chef that it is no longer good, but we will not be back and would never recommend this place to anyone looking for a great Italian meal.
I came in for a date with my girlfriend and the waiters were all very nice and said hello and seated us i got the lamb rack with was delicious definitely one of my favorites at the restaurant and I got the Nutella cheese cake for desert it was so good It was like a flavor bomb in my mouth we will definitely be coming back again :)
The best Italian food ever! We always come from Toronto at least once a month to enjoy Chef Adrianos spectacular dishes. Great ambiance and service. Staff is amazing! Brunello at 27 on fourth is a must if you are looking for a real Italian experience!!!!! Parking: Convenient parking at the back.
Long wait for mediocre food and service. Supposedly there was a backup in the kitchen, and it took about an hour to get our appetizers, one of which was melon and prosciutto. While we were offered complimentary dessert, it was communicated poorly that the food was going to take a while, and I think the (justifiably) stressed waiter was having trouble with the tables on the patio.
Found this nice little Italian restaurant on our way home from Collingwood. The restaurant decor seems a bit dated but with good cozy vibes. The seafood pasta we ordered were a bit pricy but it wad the best we have ever had. Servixe was very friendly. Would definitely visit again.
Had a great dinner celebrating our Anniversary. We were actually a 1/2 late for our reservation and they were very accommodating and seated us right away. They even called us to make sure everything was ok when we didn t show up on time. We were served a complimentary anti pasto plate and liquor. My sunshine martini came with a shot glass leftover for my husband to try. Service was great. Food was delicious.
Fantastic food, fantastic portions, which surprised me. Nice quaint restaurant in a house. We ate upstairs in what would have a bedroom, very comfortable. It was a Tuesday so it wasnt too packed. The prices were not on the cheap side but the huge portions and quality made up for it. The only thing I would have liked is when the waiter said we have specials, would be to have them printed out on a separate sheet with the specials on there with the price, this way I can decide if the specials are worth ordering, and I can read and decide if the descriptions of them are something I would like, instead of relying on my memory of them being verbally told to me. Other than that I would go back. If you want some really good Italian cuisine you have to check this place out. I have been to higher end Italian restaurants where the prices were on the higher side and did not receive the portions of this place. Overall a great experience. If youre in Collingwood this place is a must to try out at least ONCE. Good job on making this frugal person a fan!
Food was superb, service attentive, knowledgeable and very welcoming. A gem of a family run business.
The atmosphere, food amd service are excellent! I absolutely recommend Brunellos! Its like being in Italy for a couple of hours!! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Wonderful meal. Delicious food. Loved the atmosphere- a home converted to a restaurant.
Inviting and cozy is the feeling from this converted house to restaurant. Although it s wasn t my favourite ( I m way to particular). it was clear to me just from the most basic food that I had ordered, the effort and care only by presentation alone tells me everything. The server had a near perfect pronunciation of all the Italian specials a total professional. Reasonable priced for its healthy portions. Very enjoyable.
Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food, with helpful and friendly staff
I have lived in Collingwood for over 30 years and I m not sure why but I have never eaten at this restaurant. Now I think I wasted too many years of great food. We decided to go tonight to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. This was totally a food experience not just a meal. The steak was cooked to perfection and was incredibly tasty. My wife had the gnocchi which was completely homemade including the sauce. Complimentary bruschetta and a basket with fresh bread and unique breadsticks to start off which was so warm, authentic and tasty. I had the tiramisu (stupid good) and my wife had a special coffee. Overall an amazing dining experience. Family run business and it shows in their pride of service. Genuine people and the tastiest Italian food around. Thank you Cynthia (owner and waitress) and daughter Maria (tiramisu artist). We will be back real soon I assure you! Shane the pain lol
My husband and I went for dinner on Wednesday. We had a $200.00 gift certificate and wanted to use $100.00 that night and $100.00 another night. We were told it was a one time gift certificate (that was not mentioned on the certificate itself). When we asked about the balance, Maria, one of the owners, said Leave it as a tip. Our bill was $145.00 for food only as we do not drink. A $55.00 tip is definitely over the top but was nice for the waiter, who incidentally was the owners son and brother. Needless to say, we will not be back and our nice evening was ruined.
Don t waste your money on this restaurant. Prices are high bc it s in Collingwood for terrible food and service. The server couldn t be bothered serving and wasn t friendly. We had to ask for bread and that was stale. If u know true Italian food this isn t the place to go.
Food was delicious. Service was great. Friendly staff. A very nice family owned restaurant. Couldn t have asked for a better birthday celebration
Absolutely amazing restaurant! Always have the best experience coming here. Staff is so friendly. True Italian food.
Food is phenomenal. Service is great! Go to place for Italian food.
Great atmosphere food and service!!!!!
Amazing atmosphere and authentic Italian cuisine, we are from Toronto and have tried many different Italian restaurants but this one felt like home and delicious dishes. Service and prices are very good for what they are serving, Very pleased and highly recommended!
What an amazing gem in Collingwood. A cozy atmosphere with exceptional service and fresh food. They had numerous features for the day, Which we chose. We had different appetizers and mains and all features were delicious! The chef even came out to every table to make sure everything was perfect. A tradition that has been lost over the years. Will definitely be back.
We have had dinner at Brunello several times. It has always been very enjoyable and the food is very high quality. Authentic Italian cuisine. The attention to detail and customer service is exceptional. Lovely family run restaurant.
This restaurant is wonderful on all levels and an absolute must visit! It is the go-to place for me and my boyfriend. We love it here. The food is fresh, delicious, and generously portioned. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Honestly I cant remember the last time I was as satisfied and delighted with a new restaurant find as this! Reserve a spot because the place is often booked solid!
Dont bother showing up without reservations.. no walk ins. From out of town and didnt know. Says nothing on website. Huge disappointment on our honeymoon.
Excellent food and service. We will definitely be going back.
Best Italian restaurant in Canada I recommend
truly italian experience in collingwood ontario. please support this local family owned restaurant. a hidden gem!! old house tight space crowded seatings just same and common in italy. good wine and cocktail list. the portion and value of dishes r impressive. we had carpaccio and house salad!both r impressively well balance; light on balsamic dressing. and low on sodium seasoning. they served complimentary dish to you too; that was amazing; not telling you here (i attached the photo) u should explore yourself. it s real italian way to impress you in beginning. in mains, the seafood pasta is a great value compare to GTA. the pasta and the tomato sauce are real deals. al donte and sure they use the clam juice combining w the tomato sauce, so flavorful and sweet. other main dish was a surprise. the mushroom and truffle ravioli, it s a must try; the mushroom and truffle were so well balance that they did not overwhelm each other: the mushroom sauce not heavy at all not like city restaurant w tones of butter in it. again low sodium. i don t feel thirsty at all and i can taste the ingredients natural favor. the seafood r bit over cooked. dessert! the tiramisu was their signature: yeah and yup they use a nice almond liquor to layer the lady fingers: heavy on the liquor however, no alcoholic bitterness at all. the raspberry chocolate was average but again not too sweet and in good value, in general 5 stars quality; full of surprise. if they open in GTA; cannot imagine the line ups. cheers!!
Anniversary dinner it was outstanding in every detail. Best and outstanding waitress amazing Caesar salad two over the moon good veal dishes followed by tiramisu to die for. Best Italian meal we have ever had. Thank you Jim and Joan
Update: just sharing my experience, I don t mind waiting for food but the food experience that night does not worth the time. Yes I expect it comes with lemon flavor, but I don t like the fact that it only has lemon flavor and no taste of meat. So I simply don t like it. Maybe others will so I just want to make sure people don t have wrong expectations like me. And unfortunately the linguine comes with sand and rock Service is 4 star. Reduce 1 star because of food wait time, which was expected before I go because it s a small restaurant according to their reply. Their kitchen probably couldn t handle that much order at same time. Food is only 3 star, which is unexpected for a 4.6 star restaurant I picked. Appetizer and drink is great, but when entries served the experience starts to go down. The veal seasoning is weird. Some spice (or lemon) makes it very sour so I couldn t taste any other flavor. The seafood linguini flavor is decent, however they didn t clean mussel/clam properly so it contains sands/rocks, which is a big thing for this dish.
Made a reservation for my family and I for a special occasion. An authentic experience from start to finish. Cynthia was so accommodating and the food was incredible! Everyone left full, satisfied and we enjoyed every bite from appetizers to dessert. We will be back. Thank you!
One of my favourites Italian Restaurant. The osso buco and parpedelli pasta is my favourite. $$ but good!! Nice fine dining especially for those special couples occasions.
