188 First St, Collingwood, ON L9Y 1A7, Canada
This Japanese restaurant in a renovated house features traditional sushi, sashimi, teriyaki & bento.
Really lovely space! We went here after seeing recommendations from locals, and it did not disappoint.
Recently went there and was greeted promptly and we were informed that due to a problem with their cooking appliances they could only serve cold items. We decided to stay and enjoyed salads, miso soup and a bunch of sushi. We are so glad we chose to stay as the food was really really good. Not the least expensive place but well worth the price. Will go again and happily try some of the cooked food which I suspect will be terrific.
I was here 4 years ago, and I'm back for more sushi! The environment is great, lovely homey decor , friendly service, and great food. It is also pretty convenient to get to , from blue mountain.
Amazing place, super delicious, everything that we ordered was very, very good and tasty. Congratulations, guys!!!
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and great staff. My son and I ate here yesterday and our apps, meal and tea were delicious. We will definitely be eating here again. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for sushi in Collingwood. Great atmosphere and the staff made sure we were happy with the food and taken care of throughout our stay.
I had an amazing dining experience at Hungry Sumo! The atmosphere was delightful, with a perfect blend of modern decor and traditional Japanese elements that created a cozy and inviting ambiance. The quick service was a pleasant surprise. Our orders were taken promptly, and the food arrived surprisingly fast, without feeling rushed. It allowed us to savor our meal without any unnecessary delays. What truly sets Hungry Sumo apart is its authentic take on sushi. The sushi here is a taste of Japan right in the heart of Collingwood. Every bite was bursting with the freshest ingredients, and the chefs’ skill in crafting each roll was evident. It felt like a culinary journey through Japan’s rich sushi traditions. I highly recommend Hungry Sumo to any sushi enthusiast looking for a memorable dining experience. The combination of a great atmosphere, quick service, and authentic sushi makes it a must-visit restaurant in town! Atmosphere: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Response: 5/5 Value: 5/5
We were in search for Japanese food while visiting Blue Mountain. The Hungry Sumo was about at 10 mins drive from the resort. The restaurant is actually in a house. Pretty unique. A bit old and run down and not as modern but it’s clean enough. Parking was tough when we got there someone left but not a lot of parking spots in the back. There was 12 of us so they gave us a private room in the upper floor of this house. Note there’s a 18% gratuity charge automatically when it’s 10 guests or more. I gave this restaurant a 3 stars since some of the dishes were bit that great but a couple they were good. There were a few dishes to definitely avoid. The assortment of tempura is great, fresh and crispy. But when we ordered a second order of just shrimp tempura which was more expensive the shrimps came out so small. Not worth it. Stick with the assorted tempura. The sushi boat for $69 was not worth it. The portion was small. The yaki udon chicken was ok. The portion was small for $23!! With small pieces is chicken. The teriyaki steak was the worst dish, do not get this dish. It was like a stir fry sliced beef as per picture attached. It was NOT steak and for $25?? Not worth the price. The gyoza and age dashi tofu were good. I think only the fried items came out decent. I think the food was overpriced and not the best quality. I will probably not come back.
A beautiful hole in the wall sushi spot that will blow you away. I became acquainted with the hungry sumo a few years ago when I would order their lunch bentos while working in the area. Since then, I have been dying to get back and try the food at the restaurant proper. It took several attempts as the restaurant is on the smaller side, so seating is limited, but I assure you it is well worth the wait. The homey atmosphere paired with the expertly prepared food makes for an incredible evening. As if that wasn't enough, they offer some gluten-free options, which allowed a friend to enjoy the first sushi night out in a while as a celiac. We will definitely be returning whenever possible!
Enjoyed! Fresh Fish, good taste, kind service. Especially the Hamachi sushi, fresh and melted in mouth, loving it. Food
Service was great. The place was empty when we were there on a weeknight, not sure why because the sushi was excellent. Lots of choices, good portion sizes. Cocktails were thoughtfully curated, should ve got a picture. Definitely the spot for sushi in Collingwood.
I came here with my family for my birthday and they were amazing! We definitely plan on coming back!
Operation style: Overpriced. Stale. Small. Wrong ingredient.
The service and food was good. Thx Food
Pretty good. The prices are quite high and the sushi was a little bland but the quality was excellent.
Absolutely love this place but I m super frustrated with their take out ordering system. Tried calling multiple times, spread out, within their first 45 minutes of opening to absolutely no response even though their website and Google says they are open. This isn t the first time this has happened either. It s getting a little ridiculous and they re 100% losing business because of it. You need a new system.
Very polite staff with quick service and great tasting food. I left satiated at a good price.
The food is good. Unfortunately its hard to get! The call takes a while to be answered and they dont update google times. Like right now, it says open but its not.
My favourite restaurant in collingwood! The food is always fresh, authentic and delicious with an amazing atmosphere! Highly recommend!!
portions are a bit small.
Everything we had from the drinks to the food was really good. Really solid service.
Good place
It s a little house converted into a restaurant! Fish was fresh and the chicken teriyaki was cooked very flavourfully! Will definitely be back!!
Tried sushi for the first time but really the food was amazing. Staff and chef make sure you are comfortable with your order. Surely visiting on my next trip to the area. Thank you
What a surprise! Food and service were so much better than some of the finest japanese restaurants in Toronto. I am a sushi lover and this restaurant is classy with excellence in foods and service. It is too bad this restaurant is in Collingwood and not in Toronto. Loved every bit of bites. Thank you for serving such wonderful foods!
love this place! Been many times and have nothing but good things to say.
Awesome service. Cool atmosphere in a heritage Victorian house. They also have good music in the background. Kid-friendliness: We were there with kids. Staff were very friendly to them.
Best sushi around. Drive 40 min weekly to go here because it s that good. Freshest rolls and tons of vegetarian options. Prices are very reasonable and taste and service is both 12/10 Dietary restrictions: Lots of veg and gluten free options Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible
Outrageous pricing, seems like every year they keep creeping up the cost while cutting down portions and quality. Do not recommend dining here.
We ordered shrimp tempura and salmon sashimi as an appetizer. The shrimp tempura rated as a 4/5. The salmon sashimi was not fresh and the only thing we could think is that it was previously frozen. Our main course was chicken teriyaki. I m sorry to say this was a horrible dish which was $25 each. The vegetables and chicken were tough and dry, swimming in teriyaki sauce. It seemed more like a packaged/reheated meal that had already been reheated once or twice before. I will say that the staff was attentive and friendly. But unfortunately, the food overall was a very bad experience.
We arrived and ordered a beer and a cider. The cider was warm. We asked for ice but of course, it watered down the cider I ordered tofu teriyaki and it was pretty disappointing and flavorless. My husband ordered the tofu curry dinner. They were each 20.95 and my husband is still hungry. But frankly, the most irritating part of our rushed.and brief meal was our waiter. He barely acknowledged me, took my plate while I wa still chewing and spoke almost exclusively to my husband including have a.good.evening, sir. As a 61 year old woman I am used to being ignored but the treatment from this waiter was exceptionally dismissive.
Everything delicious!!
We ordered from here because Sushi Hon (INCREDIBLE) was closed. We could not believe what a waste of money this was. I can t even be gentle with my negative review because we were so offended by this meal. Ordered the Agedashi tofu and a bunch of sushi and rolls. We did notice the higher prices but figured that the portions would adequately reflect them. Everything was TINY. The next and more important issue was quality! We can tolerate higher prices IF the quality is on point. Absolutely tasteless sushi and the veg (avocado, cucumbers, etc) were not even fresh. Just because you re in the Blue Mountains does not mean you can inflate your prices so far beyond what s reasonable and then not even deliver on quality. So many restaurants are struggling in the industry especially in the last few years however, some are finding ways of covering their bottom lines and still giving customers value for their hard-earned dollars. We spent $50 here for two people and ended up getting a pizza afterwards!!
What a great find! The sushi/sashimi and everything we ordered were delicious and so very fresh. The presentation of some plates is very original. Our server was awesome!! The house they have converted is super cool! Just go . Will go back. Food
Nice place, great food.
Lovely lunch with a variety of choices both raw and cooked. Everything was prepared and presently wonderfully.
Kindred spirits sometimes meet you when you dont expect it .
Food was really good and staff were nice! I would definitely recommend this place if you want some good sushi near you.
The quintessential small business with great food! Husband ordered seconds of the spring rolls they were so good!
Used to be my favourite and only sushi place until they changed how ordering works
Been in Japan for a while. Appetizers like shrimp tempura and chicken karaage were beyond average. Personally would not recommend sashimi since they tasted like once-frozen. Rice was amazing though. Will definitely try more cooked food next time.
So wonderful food staff and cool atmospheres
Everything we had was fresh and delicious.
Delicious sushi and great service.
Overall excellent
I have eaten here many times and always had a good experience with service and food quality. I find it very reasonably priced for the quality. Has a unique atmosphere since it is located in an old house. Parking: Parking lot is small and can get crowded Wheelchair accessibility: This location is not wheel chair accessible. Stairs to get in and out and the bathrooms are on the second floor which is accessible by stairs only
The food is amazing here. Traditional Japanese on point
Great food and great service. Our server was friendly and funny. Easy to get to and parking is decent. If you re in to Korean/chinese food, you ll enjoy this restaurant.
Great food.
Whenever my mom and I are in collingwood, this is our go-to spot. The sushi is so fresh and tastes amazing every time. The miso soup is very good. My mom and I both had the Maki set. The atmosphere is also very welcoming. Service is also excellent.
Prices are outrageous. I can get the same items in Scotia Plaza (downtown financial core expensive rent!) at Ninki for $4 less on some items?!
Excellent service, unique cocktails, amazing ambience. Would highly recommend and cant wait to come back!
Exellent service and super delicious food.
This was our second visit and it was as fabulous as our 1st visit! Our waitress recognized us from the week before and was so pleasant and welcoming! We love learning about the food and she was very happy to explain things and make suggestions, which were absolutely yummy! We totally recommend this nice little place! Sue and Steve certainly made it a great experience! As well as the excellent and fresh food!! Prices are more than reasonable as well!! Thank you Sue & Steve!!
Great place! The food is exquisite!the staff is nice and attentive. Each dish is very fresh and well executed!Thank you! my family definitely will dine in again when we are visiting Collingwood next time!
Wasnt expecting to find great sushi in Collingwood but everything was great. Will definitely come back the next time in Collingwood.
We came at in-between service hour. The server made it a point to get us a table. We quickly made our choice for lunch before the kitchen closed for a break. Thw food was great. The service was even better. Would highly recommend this small, clean. Prices were on the lower side which was even better. We had some leftovers. The takeout bag had all the condiments for a second meal all ready to go which was a bonus. Parking: Los of parking in the back
Delicious
Amazing. Service was great. Great music. Cool coloured LED lighting. Exemplary food. No bathroom, need to go upstairs for it.
Our old favorite sushi place in Ontario still delivers. Great fresh amazing sushi. Cant compete its so good it ruins all the sushi places at home. Id give it 6 stars If I could.
What a wonderful Japanese restaurant. It has a classy atmosphere with reasonable prices. The waiter (who is new) was very friendly and responsive to his customers. The food was excellent and well presented. We can t wait to go back.
Recently dined at this Japanese restaurant and had a pleasant experience. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, complemented by attentive and friendly service. Additionally, the pricing was reasonable, offering good value for the quality of the meal. Overall, a satisfying dining experience worth revisiting.
good teriyaki, sashimi soso
Nice place, Great food for sure! I do have to say that i ordered the dancing mango roll and could barely taste any mango unfortunately but other than that we loved the food! The yam rolls were the way to go!
We had a great server. food as alway was so good.
Love this place!
Went for lunch on a snowy Sunday afternoon. Susan was a fantastic server, very attentive and gave great recommendations. The food itself was amazing, the japchae noodles were done well and the Crazy Love roll was amazing. Good option for lunch / dinner if you re planning on spending a day in the Blue Mountains area!
This is my go to sushi spot the sushi is always so amazing and fresh. The service is kind and helpful and always have my order done for the time said over the phone. A bit pricy but totally worth every cent spent.
Great sushi and friendly staff! Also reasonably priced. I will be returning in the future.
Nice atmosphere, great food and friendly service.
Since moving to collingwood, this has been my go to spot for sushi. I think their chicken karage is very good and their rolls are the perfect size and is of good quality.
Fantastic fresh sushi, but so much plastic wasted on containers that barely have any wasabi. Miso soup was also good, and staff was friendly. Please just include wasabi in the sushi container, no need for a bunch of separate little cups
What a lovely place. Food is amazing. Service by our server Sue was great and friendly. Will definitely return again and highly recommend.
$85 lunch and the food was just BAD! Japcahe: was tough and there was ONE broccoli floret in the whole dish, the chicken was horribly dry and over cooked. The Kani salad: was packed with breadcrumbs? tempura bits? There was next to no crab in it, no cucumber and the portion was ridiculously small. I have had Kani salad in lots of Japanese restaurants but never like that. The spicy rolls: they were all packed with the same bread like bits- they all looked and tasted the same although they were supposed to be crab, salmon and tuna. There was no label or divider so you couldn t tell one from the other. Many were not rolled well so they were falling apart. The wasabi was mushy and the portions of it were comical. You are clearly skimping on ingredients and portions. The cost of your food does not match the quality!
Quality of food was average at best. Expected much better quality for the price. Charged mandatory 18% service charge on top of HST for mediocre service. If you charge tips on top of HST, youre actually charging over 20% tip!!! We got a private room but it was just an old room in an old house with no decor. Definitely not worth the premium price. In regards to the amount of tip, I believe that one server trying their hardest to go up and down the second floor to give your group a service, that server needs a cheers. We were fine with the mandatory 18% service charge since we agreed to dine there. As I mentioned, I felt that the quality of service did not reflect the 18%. In addition, it is not 18% if you charge 18% on top of HST. You are charging just over 20% tip. Yes, the server had to walk up and down the stairs. You put us up there. That is part of the job. Some tables are harder, some tables are easier. Would the service charge be lower if you sat us downstairs?!?! Is the service charge dependent on where you sit? Additionally, you mentioned very important aspect of our restaurant. The minimal decor in our old house is to present the beauty of the original antique of the house which was built in decades ago. Let me ask you this question, would you put led light on your 1973 year classic Ferrari? The room next door had a dirty table with 1/2 eaten pizza and boxes all laid out around. I would not consider that proper decor. And no, I would not put LEDs on a 1973 classic Ferrari. But why use a 1973 classic Ferrari as an Uber?
Went here yesterday and our server was Sue. She was awesome! Fast, scrumptious, authentic sushi. 5/5 best sushi in collingwood.
Service and food were great.
Fish on sashimi and sushi is stale, not fresh and tasteless
I have been here several times, and it is easily one of my favourite sushi places to date. The ingredients- especially the fish- are incredibly fresh. Great customer service, clean and cozy location, 10/10 recommend!
I went with my son to this delicious restaurant, from the attention to the meal . all spectacular. I recommend it
Nice service and pleasant atmosphere. Just found the sushi to be chewy and lacking flavour. Sometimes the pieces were dry inside and could use some more sauce. I think the soy sauce needs to be changed as well.
Ate here with my family. Salmon teriyaki was ok. But the sauce tasted like it was off a supermarket shelf. My wife had a teriyaki dish as well and thought it was so so. Looking at some other tables, sushi looked good. Maybe I should have gone with sushi.
Food was great and high quality. Atmosphere was really quaint and nice.
Dont chance it. Make a reservation. Food and service is superb. Amount and quality of food is more than sufficient for their prices. Parking is limited and noise is rather high at the peak of supper time. Will visit again and again.
A wonderful friendly restaurant that did the unexpected. My daughter delivered a baby and texted she wanted dinner from The Hungry Sumo, so I called for pick up and explained I was on my way to the hospital and when I picked up, the meal was complimentary!! Very unexpected and over the top with kindness!
Went at 815pm for dinner on a Saturday night was told they are closing at 9pm so we would have to hurry and order to make sure we eat and out by 9pm and then asked if that was ok.. How about incouraging customers to want to eat in your restaurant instead of basically telling us we were not wanted there. We could have very well made the time work but at this point I felt unwelcomed. We were on a night out and we all know the meal would have cost close to $100...so NO we did not stay to have a evening rushed and we wont be back!
Got takeout on a Tuesday, about $50 for maki set (18pcs), extra miso soup, a teriyaki beef roll, and spring roll appy (6-7 mini ones). The rolls are regular bite sized, not sumo sized Ambiance was nice inside while I waited and friendly service. Next time Id get the spicy set.
Great service staff and the food was outstanding. Worth the $. Returning customer.
Surprisingly good Japanese out in a small town. Nice lunch options and friendly staff. Classy, yet family friendly.
Delish little sushi spot thats almost hidden. We will go weekly!
Very good restaurant with family!
We walked in at 8:30. The restaurant was empty. They didn t take us in because the restaurant closes soon. Apparently it closes at 9:30pm so we were here 1 hour before. We came from far away. Disappointing.
I had the pleasure of dining at the Hungry Sumo in Collingwood and it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant had a cozy feel to it, with enough tables to entertain a good crowd without feeling overcrowded. It looks like an old converted home, which adds to the cozy atmosphere. The staff were professional and courteous, which added to the overall experience. The upstairs washroom was also a nice touch, as it provided a bit of privacy away from the hustle and bustle of the main dining area. I highly recommend the Hungry Sumo. Its a great spot for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two. The cozy atmosphere, great food, and friendly staff make it a top-notch dining destination in Collingwood. Today since it was Mother s Day they included a free desert for all the mothers in the restaurant, was delicious
Had their beef bulgogi, assorted tempura, both excellent.
Spent a weekend in Collingwood and visited this place for dinner. Its a small space so highly recommend reservations (at most of the food spots in that area). The black dragon roll was fresh and delicious. Cute sitting area with nice art. Service was great too.
Delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere.
Hubby and I loved the sushi pizza!
Don t come! Blonde server today is racist! We are group of 6. There were tables for 6 but prioritized other group before and suggested to split us. She went back inside then came back and told us there is 18% gratuity for group of 6. First of all you splitted us! Secondly, I ll pay you more than that if you re not discriminatory and racist! Unfortunately, we weren t able to try the food.
Amazing sushi! I like simple and it was great! The staff were great! This building used to be a house and I lived I the upstairs 50 years ago when I was little. Definitely brought back some happy childhood memories for me. A definite place I would go again Food : 5/5
Really great food and excellent service in a very nice setting that has character. Only sushi place I will visit in the Collingwood area.
I felt discriminated at this place on my second visit. We come as 2 families with 7 people. We are okay to seat together or seat in 2 separate tables. However, the welcome waiter insists to charge 18% large group fee on top of tips even if we choose to seat in 2 tables. The welcome waiter had awful attitude and didnt explain the fee well but kept rejecting our suggestions.
Very delicious, lots for your money. Great service - make reservations as it was very busy and had to go back 1 hour later for the table which was ready for us when we arrived at time they asked us to return.
I have had Sushi at other places but the selection at Hungry Sumo is by far the best. I would drive 2 hours just to eat their delicious food.
I got takeout yesterday and I really enjoyed the Crazy Boy and Wasaga Beach rolls! Was super excited that they had deep fried sushi here. My only issue was I wish we got soy sauce in a little container rather than packets because our sushi was a little dry as it was hard to get enough sauce from the packets, but next time I will request that :)
Driving past decided to try it and absolutely loved it.
Unbeatable sushi in Ontario.
I really enjoyed the food and the service was awesome at this restaurant. Their torched salmon nigiri is the best.
Delicious sushi. But our food was served 40min after we placed the order. I wont recommend this place if you have a busy day.
The food at the Hungry Sumo was fantastic. The kitchen staff were very busy with the long weekend demand, but they compensated us fairly and ensured we had what we needed during the longer than usual wait times. Excellent customer service, and incredible food will always win me over. Highly recommend.
Always good, and priced right
Great place for sushi close to the Blue Mountain village.
The food was delicious, the server was kind and attentive! We had some apps and also tried the double shrimp and the Crazy Boy Roll, both were beyond our expectations! We came without a reservation, so thats on us. But the deduction of the star was we were brought upstairs and put at a table that was super small and the room was bleak- so only taking star away for atmosphere. However Carson our server was attentive and kind. We will be coming back!
Great Japanese cuisine.
This place is the worst place for pick up. I ordered few days ago for my party they didnt even know my order and they said kitcken is not ready at 12 20pm. My pick up time was 12 20 because they said they are open at 11 30 so i can pick it up 12 20. They shouldnt take order if they cant handle big orders.
Came hungry, left feeling like a Sumo Wrestler
Clean, great music, excellent service Fantastic food and quanlity!!
awful experience. it took them more than an hour to bring us the food.
The food was amazing and staff were kind. I honestly never had such good and fresh sushi! Parking: Right behind the restaurant - you will see it
Delicious food. Perfect portions. Cute atmosphere. Highly recommend trying it
This is usually our favourite place to eat. We are return customers. Tonight was a major let down. The seaweed in the sushi rolls was so tough and thick we couldn t chew it. Avocado in the rolls was old and browning. Hopefully it will be better next time.
Very good food. A relatively small space. Excellent service.
Second time visiting. Charming place for some Japanese food. Lovely host and friendly staff.
I ve been going to The Hungry Sumo for years and it never disappoints. Food, service, and atmosphere always on point.
Had lunch today and it was wonderful Sue was our server, she s wonderful and kind Miso soup is 5/5 Salad dressing is beautiful My partner had the chicken teriyaki! He loved it I had a variety of rolls, they were all well prepared, super fresh The interiors are clean, the music is cool, the art is beautiful Highly recommend for a nice local spot Also - parking is fabulous
Very good place, lots of good food, and friendly staff. Very good.
Second time we have gone and never disappoints. Service is excellent, food is great and prices are reasonable. We will be back again!
We were on a trip to blue mountains and decided to go to this place because of its high rating. Unfortunately the experience was not very good. We were asked to wait for a while but I was told on the phone that we can walk in without reservation. They eventually helped us find a table, but there were many small flying bugs constantly buzzing. Ordered a tempura which is very oily. The chicken noodle soup costs over 20 bucks but only contains udon and tasteless chicken breast. The sushi was okay but you can definitely find better sushi if you are in the GTA area. I do hope someone recommend me a better sushi place around blue mountains, as this place is a never-go-again.
Great place, food is natural and pleasant. The servers are friendly and professional. I will support again and again.
Love the food especially when you take out, they think smart, holes in the containers keeps the crispy items crispy!!
Good food, good service. Small so somewhat noisy. Would go back!
Overpriced. Mid sushi. Fish was somewhat tasteful. Go somewhere else, not sure why its rated so highly. If youre from Toronto, this is not it. Parking: Rear of building
We went for my a late lunch on my wifes birthday. The bento box lunch is fantastic. The spicy bulgolgi beef was yummy, my wife loved the sweet potatoes in the veggie tempura and how it was so light, even though it was fried. The slice of birthday cheesecake was really thoughtful and delicious to boot. Staff were amazing. Thank you.
The best sushi in Simcoe County! It s always super fresh and absolutely delicious. Worth every penny. Only downside is the place is small so it can fill up quick and it s really cold if you go during winter - but I can get past that because it s so good.
because we are in rush to somewhere else so not enjoy relax. But the foods and service are ok. May go next time.
Fantastic place with fantastic service
Parking: Back of restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: Outside sitting
We ordered: lobster roll (lobster was a tad over fried) but otherwise good), gold dragon roll (yummy, salmon tasted fresh, minimal rice which I prefer), and shrimp tempura (a bit too much batter). Food came out quickly and the server was good. Our entire bill for lunch after tax and tip came to $77. We would eat here again.
The food served fresh and quick. We had spicy udon and some sushi and roll. I liked the udon better than sushi/roll. I found rice was little too dry.
One of the best sushi places Ive ever been to, amazing service and even better food :)
Great service Clean space and tasty food
Food is fine, but expensive for what you get. Patio isn t open at lunch which isn t ideal. Overall, fine.
Everything we ordered were very good , 7 types of roll , soups , salmon teriyaki dinner and sashimi salat , beef gyoza. The service was great and we got our food fast .
Best sushi in 100 miles around!
Food was amazing! Staff was super friendly. It was just a little hot inside. (There was a heat warning in effect though)
Dietary restrictions: They offert somme good fit alergic people
Excellent service and the sushi was delicious!!!
Really good food... And it might sound funny but my goodness the miso soup was delicious
Delicious food!
Great seafood udons! Very nice place! Good service!
We have had dinner at this great restaurant 3 times this summer and each time we have had a terrific experience. Timely, friendly service with knowledgeable servers to guide you through the extensive menu options. Food is great quality, freshly prepared and beautifully plated. Good wine and beer list. We always make reservations as its busy! Highly recommend this local restaurant.
Amazing sushi at an affordable price. The Chirashi don is made with fresh ingredients and the texture of the rice is amazing!
Tried dancing unagi tempera roll and salmon lover, both are average based on my sushi experience. Unagi tempera has too much breading so it s not like a unagi taste. Salmon meat is a little mushy
Delicious sushi, great service. We ordered sushi to go and it was delicious. We ordered the Uri Sushi Boas, and spring rolls. There was plenty of food for two people. The salad was very good, I really enjoyed the dressing. We enjoyed all the sushi. I would definitely recommend these dishes. The price was worth the meal, and reasonable. The call in was easy, and the pick-up was straight forward. The staff was very friendly at pick-up. Absolutely recommend.
I had Pork Katsu dinner. It comes with a salad, miso soup and plain rice. Salad was good because of the dressing. Loved the miso soup packed full of flavor. The pork cutlet was tender and crispy but lacked seasoning and flavor. The sauce served along it was cold!? I wasnt expecting that! Even worse the sauce tasted so much like the Swiss Chalet gravy. Asked for a spicy sauce and I got the Sriracha, which I added to the sauce. This one dessert you have to try is the tempura fried ice cream! That was the highlight of the dinner. 8-22-2022
Service interactions were great, was nice to enjoy a laugh with the server. No complaints, overall enjoyed it.
Food is good. But need more servers on weekdays over the summer. We had to change plans because the wait was an hour for a table!
Really great food - fresh and clean. Neat spin on sushi presentation! Good variety of food for all pallets and allergy accommodations. We are now regulars.
Fantastic presentation, beautiful environment. We will make this our home base sushi place. :)
We ordered all three types of roe and all of them were superb! The same goes for the salmon sashimi and the house special spicy tuna and salmon rolls. The cold unfiltered saki was quite good, too.
Excellent food and great service
Deserves 4.7
Very welcoming atmosphere! Our server, Sue was so helpful and knowledgeable with menu choices. She went above and beyond. Highly recommend, great experience!
Best sushi place in Collingwood!
Delicious sushi!!! One of my favorite restaurants in Collingwood. Always tastes fresh!
Very fresh fish, nice plating detail, could use more variety for veg tempura, excellent unagi
Love this restaurant! The sushi/sashimi is so fresh! Delicious food, great service! Highly recommend!
Great little spot for Japanese food right on the main drag. Service was great, very polite food for a quick lunch was good. Lots of choices for bento box. Downside is that there not handicap friendly at all. Food
The Service was great! Our waiter was very friendly and definitely helped with the service experience. The food was delicious, there is a large variety of Sushi rolls and everything was fresh! I Would definitely recomend if you are looking for Japanese food in Collingwood.
Great sushi and lovely staff. Tuna tataki so good.
Wife and I went for a casual date night. Very good well presented sushi and friendly service. Will return! Parking: Good amount of parking
