Chose the restaurant for a holiday party for the team for 12 people. The reservation experience was great with good menu choices and good communication from the restaurant. We had a private dining area with Alex as our server . He made sure all our needs were met, provided exceptional service and was attentive at all times . Everyone in the group enjoyed the evening with delicious food, tasty appetizers, great wine and delectable desserts. The restaurant is beauty, great view of the bay, an oyster bar and an inviting atmosphere. All dishes including Chicken, Salmon and prime rib were delicious as the Main course and the chocolate mousse and crème brûlée were decadent.
A good option for dinner at the Living Water resort. Had the half dozen oysters which were quite nice and the wagyu beef burger which was just okay. Overall pretty restaurant and its obviously very convenient when staying at the resort and found the prices to be actually quite reasonable.
All meals were good. Very good portions. I ordered my prime rib medium but it came well dined. The waitress replaced it for me quickly which I appreciated. Make reservations early to get a seat on the patio.
It was a nice place to enjoy the food and a nice view from the patio 😍 Even though we came in the evening without the reservation, they found the table for us pretty fast 👍 The atmosphere is great, nice music and great staff! Thank you for the lovely evening!
I must say, not everything is good. LOBSTER MAC AND CHEESE, is good, but I'm not crazy about it, NY STRIPLOIN - 10 oz I must say it's very good but the garlic was a bit too overwhelming. LAKESIDE’S SIGNATURE CREAMY SEAFOOD CHOWDER. Nothing super good, just good.
Celebrated our wedding anniversary at Lakeside and were very pleasantly surprised. First off, big thank you to Jenni for the amazing service. Next up the food was excellent. We had the surf and turf for two and every bite was delicious. The complementary dessert … lemon and lavender cheesecake was a perfect ending to the evening. Thank you Lakeside for such a wonderful evening. Will highly recommend and will be back when next we are in the area.
Greeted to our table by the robot. We ordered the grass fed beef teriyaki, prime rib panini and wagyu beef burger. The beef teriyaki was not very good, the star was the beef but the dish had mostly vegetables and very little beef. Beef was decent but the veggies and rice were bland. Prime rib panini was pretty good, prime rib was juicy and panini was crunchy, no complaints. Wagyu beef burger was delicious, the buns were toasted, wagyu beef was smoky and juicy, bacon was still crispy and I loved the garlic aioli. For drinks, the water was really refreshing( it’s not tap water). Seafood chowder was a hit, it was rich and creamy. I loved the corn added and the scallops were good as well. The service was not that good, our server was an older lady. We asked for orange juice but she never gave us the orange juice, we asked to refill our waters she forgot the first time so we had to ask again. The seating spot we had was very comfy, we enjoyed the view of the blue skies and the bay along with cooling breezes!
Lovely restaurant located in Living Water Resort and Spa. Our server Darlene served us two nights in a row and was wonderful. The food for the most part was exceptional. The steak and pork melted in your mouth. The vegetables were cooked to perfection but some of the seafood was excellent while other seafood dishes fell very short and was sent back. It was my husbands birthday and they came out with a lovely lemon lavender cheesecake for him. And I had ordered a sticky toffee pudding for myself but unfortunately it was litterally burnt like toast in the middle and inedible and also was sent back. Meaning it was nuked in microwave and forgotten about. For such a lovely restaurant and prices to match...PLEASE don't serve packaged or microwaved desserts. It's gross and it can ruin what was otherwise a nice experience with exceptional service. It's like serving a tomahawk steak with fresh mashed potatoes and grilled veggies and for dessert serving pop tarts...I think you get the point.
Grabbed fish and chips to take out... Was very good! We hung around inside for a while waiting and all of the staff were great. Definitely recommend the F&C which aid go back for if in the area again.
Special thanks for Brad, Pam and all the great staff.. Great service, nice dishes Food
We had great time. Food was exceptional our server Austin was fantastic. Thank you for the memory
All about the views of Georgian Bay, just stunning. Food was excellent.
Had an outstanding, amazing meal and experience here. Very nice restaurant, atmosphere and super friendly service. We enjoyed the tomahawk steak which was incredible. 5 stars!! Shout out to Lauren our server, too.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food and drinks were. The staff were amazing, the ambiance was nice. Food was delicious and I think their old fashioned is one of the best I ve had in a while. Highly recommend this spot to those visiting Blue Mountain.
Actually food is very good
I really liked my smoked salmon Benedict with asparagus. The live music Sunday brunch was also quite nice!
Always a great experience great staff great food. He won t be disappointed.
just not that good for the price
The place is beautiful and the service was great but the food even if looks beautiful was pretty bad. Calamari was burned and confit duck flatbread was tasteless. I suppose it was the Friday chef in charge
Firstly, we called and asked if dogs were allowed, they said yes, so we made a reservation. Get there and get told that dogs arent allowed inside (except for service dogs- which we werent told over the phone) and the patio is closed for the season. Hang on, this is only the start. The food was pretty close to mediocre for a place that charges premium dollar. The chowder soup was good but that was pretty much the only item that we liked. The lobster mac and cheese was a 5-6 on 10, and the burgers didnt taste great either. In fact, the kids wagyu burger had better seasoning. The icing on the cake was that one of the burgers had a hair in it. Overall the staff were polite and the service was great. Just not a good experience with the food and lack of proper communication.
One of my fave places. Our server was amazing as always. It was our anniversary and she brought us the best cheesecake ever. This was the 1st time I didnt like my dinner. I had the SEARED AHI TUNA SALAD BOWL and it was so hot /spicy, I couldnt eat it. I dont like to send food back cause its awkward but i just couldnt eat it. There should be something added to the menu to say its hot :( Ive had tuna bowls at so many restaurants and never had it so hot like that. Still giving 4 stars cause the servers are great and most food there is usually great, but I was truly disappointed that it was a special and $175 bill but i never ate my dinner :(
Terrin was fabulous we would definitely eat here again! The only complaint is the tables are very close together
Food, service and atmosphere are great at the Lakeside Seafood and Grill restaurant. I really appreciated our waiter, Austin, who was friendly and gave great recommendations. The food was delicious, healthy and generous in portions (perfect for sharing).
Amazing place, exceptional steak.
Food was average. Staff was courteous and professional. Amazing view and ambiance.
Food quality has been reduced since 2020. Lots of salt and poor quality Resulting in reduction
You re service is actually awful, I reckon picking up a phone call once in a while.
Has gone downhill in the last several years. So sad. Awful food now. Incompetent service and management.
My family spent a lot of time and money to make my 50th birthday perfect. One of this was going to this top rated restaurant. We were so disappointed, my daughter cried because she felt responsible for picking the restaurant. I could point out so many disappointing things, but I ll only make a few. We asked if we could sit outside and we were given a table. As we sat down I noticed in the corner there was a table about to leave and they were right on the Waterview. My husband politely asked if we can move, and the waitress, a lady I don t remember her name, already started making excuses, but said she would check. Out, loud, she spoke to the other waiter and said I m sure you can t take on another party as you seem full in your section. She came back to us and said yes he s full and then said to me in a patronizing way it s OK dear, I know it s your birthday, but I ll take good care of you here. She did take her drink orders before our drinks even arrived. Another party was sat and the table that we would have liked to be moved into. Let me also point out, there were no reservations for the outside, so there was no reason why we could ve moved. When we were handed the paper menus, they were disgusting. Not only where they folded many times mine had ketchup on them, my husband had a fingerprint you can see on it, and almost everyone s menu had something on it. I did mention it to her telling her they were very dirty, they were also folded many times having food stuck on them. So she did take them from us. I only hope she threw them away. I have been a successful restaurant owner, my restaurant has done very well, but has not received the recognition this restaurant has but the whole time I kept saying If I did this at my restaurant, I would be humiliated there shouldn t have been one paper menu first of all, not at that high class level. But if you re going to have a paper menu, at least print it often or as soon as you notice food or someone s dirty fingers, throw them out immediately. Secondly, remember the customers always right. This is hospitality 101. If there was a real reason why we couldn t have moved to the beautiful scenic table that would ve been different but the patronizing tone of this waitress, the very loud conversation she had with the other waiter only to ensure we heard he couldn t take us was totally, embarrassing on your part. Especially since before we even had water some other people , who were dressing casual clothes were brought to that table. We should ve been moved not only because it was my birthday, my 50th birthday, but because we asked. That next Family would easily take our spot. Now about the food, the special was prime rib, and I normally purchase the special believing that this is what they are trying to figure as their best food. I was so disappointed. It was prime rib, but it was so fatty and tough when I was trying to cut it. I was like I had to try ripping it apart. Then when I finally did rip off, I did get a half fat that I had to actually remove from my mouth. maybe I should ve said anything out loud, but when there were probably four other things that happened that I don t need to list hear, my daughter started crying, saying she tried to make this the best birthday for me and she s the one who actually planned this restaurant and she s so disappointed and thought she ruined my birthday. Well, I will say it wasn t her that did it was definitely the service, and this restaurant. I hope this finds it s way to the manager, as it is a gift so they now know a few things they can easily fix to make the customer service experience amazing instead of totally disappointing. This was approximately 7 PM, August 25, 2024 and we were changed waitresses to the one who serve the upper deck. I hope this may help with some follow up, as well as some communication how the other server could have welcomed us into his section, especially since five minutes later someone else did. I have never given a negative rating before, and I also left out numerous things but felt this was enough.
Lakeside Seafood & Grill is a true delight for seafood lovers. Their menu shines with options like Lobster Mac and Cheese, succulent mussels, and even tasty burgers and chicken. Special shoutout to Tina, our waitress, who made the experience even more enjoyable with her attentive service. A must-visit!
We arrived at reception and waited to be seated. After 5 min this young untrained waiter approached and asked what do we want and then said we dont have any food, just appys and drinks. We were immediately alarmed at this greeting. He grabbed some menus and said how many in your party, after the 2 of us had stood waiting for 5 min. He then walked us to a table inside and we explained we wanted to sit on the beautiful patio which he was not pleased about. I have to clean the table. We ultimately walked out as this wasnt the kind of place we wanted to spend any time or money at, knowing he would be our waiter.
Beautiful location overlooking the harbor! Food was average, but a number of seafood options.
My friend and I stopped in because were excited about the brunch menu. I got the lobster eggs Benny and she got the salmon burger with seafood chowder. It was beautiful restaurant with a nice view of the marina, we sat on the patio. It was only half full, we came in the office season. The menu has some exciting items and we ordered pretty quickly. The food came out quickly, the eggs Benny was very good with a good amount of lobster and the eggs were cooked well. However my accompanying crab claw was sad, flavourless, and dry. My potatoes were severely under cooked and unpleasant to chew, I tried 3 but they were all under cooked. I was going to mention this to our server but we did not see her until we were both done the remainder our meals and it was time for the bill. My friend also never got another drink or an offer for one, we also never got offered more water which we finished quickly because it was quite warm out. Our server did give us 10% off of the food, but with the lack luster food and service we wont be returning.
We stayed at the resort and had diner on Wednesday, September 18th. Came in early to be on the deck and that s were we were served by Austin. Great guy, super attitude, warm smile and always on the lookout to be of service. We had our eyes on a menu selection but at his suggestion we changed and WOW was he right. Looked at the wine list and we were searching for something to go with our steak and lobster. Once again, commenting on a special, Austin suggested a Cabernet Sauvignon from Hess. WOW again. All in all, we had some of the best calamari ever, delicious marinière mussels, à surf and turf cooked to perfection and a key lime crème brûlée that was perfect. And the wine! Thanks Austin for making this evening memorable and our tastebuds are still . By the way the wine is no longer available so we ll chalk this one to a great memory. Enjoy, we did. And hopefully you ll meet Austin.
Bella, our server was a delight!!! She ensured we all were well cared for and was quick to arrange all our needs for lunch. Food
Good live music during Sunday brunch.
Delicious!!!
We showed up with a group of thirteen people for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was nearly empty. They told us they did not have enough staff on hand and that we needed a reservation, so they could not accommodate us. So we went to Eggsmart and they took us no problem. We spent a lot of money there and not at Lakeside Seafood and Grill.
This is the only lakeside restaurant in Collingwood. We asked to sit outside & were accommodated. I doubt Id visit if I had to sit inside. We had the Wragu burger plater, which was 4 burgers & a heap of fries. Our server was exceptional.
This review should be a 0. The food had no flavour. It tasted terrible. DO NOT COME HERE PLEASE!!!! I got lobster mac and cheese and it tasted like dishwasher noodles. My cousin got salmon and it was blacker than dirt.
Served inedible food and was told by the waitress that this is how it should be the salmon is not advertised as charred or smoked salmon just light seared and our waitress said this is how it should be after waiting an hour and 15 minutes for our food.
Fantastic place. Service is top notch. Highly recommend coming here. Vegetarian options: Lots to choose from. Dietary restrictions: Just ask them. Parking: Free and lots of it. Kid-friendliness: Family and kid friendly. Or just sit back with a loved one. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, available.
Waited 15 in line for the staff to tell us they don t take walk ins. I can see for guests who have reservations the service was extremely slow ( hence 15 min wait to get to speak to the hostess while not actually many people in line). Do not go if you don t have a reservation.
Over the years service has gone done . Not as high end , dated furniture now , dirty exterior windows with spiders. Summertime doors left open so flys near my food bugging me during my meal x2. Waitresses you have to call On multiple times to bring pepper or cheque or take interest . Good though still tasty food . Prices higher due to 75% of clientele on credits for attending timeshare talk so they have credits to use. Must book a week in advance for times for reservations and restaurant closes sooo early compared to normal restaurants. Last seating 8:30 pm. Make sure you reserve in advance. Parking: Hard to find but got one each time Kid-friendliness: There is a great kids menu with nice portions
I phoned asking for an outside table to accommodate my son who s in a wheelchair. When I was told they didn t take reservations for outside, I suggested he ask his manager to help. The manager got on the phone, and instead of saying how can I make this right , she started immediately arguing, at which point I said I m hanging up now, I m done. It was adding insult to injury. She then called me back to keep arguing! (I couldn t make this up.) Both Low Down and Tesoro s were completely accommodating. Even though Low Down was closed, the owner, Cassie, emailed me on her day off. She said that if they had been open today, she would ve gladly accommodated my request and made the exception. That s what I call going above and beyond! In the end, Tesoro also made an exception by making a reservation for us on their patio. For the record, I did try them before Lakeside Grill but was unable to get through. So the next time you re thinking about going out for dinner, shop local, and support our small business owners who still believe in service and accommodating special requests.
Love everything about it (food, service etc) all great, except did not love the massive spiders all around the patio and coming down from the umbrellas :| (maybe just me because I hate spiders!) dont let it ruin your experience, the views here are amazing too!
Lauren was excellent in her serivce and surprised us with a cake for our wedding anniversary!
Food is not good here I ordered calamari and not sure what they served me but it was not calamari. They removed it from my bill because it was inedible but definitely wouldn t recommend eating here
Fish and seafood likely frozen No Georgian Bay fresh fish. Nothing we had tasted above average and like all restaurants bill was expensive.
I cant say enough about how gracious and professional our server Brad and the restaurant were. The kitchen mixed up the order, but they really tried and made up for it. Extremely gracious, professional and friendly. I think its completely worth the money and I wont hesitate to come back with friends. Well done!!!!!
Food was absolutely stunning and delicious with very bite taken. I got the Wagyu Burger and the Calamri and they didnt disappoint. Food was so good I didnt take a photo because of how amazing the food looked and tasted. The French fries were nice and crispy, not a single French fry was sad. Marcia was an amazing server and made sure we felt special. The Manager Kirsti, had made sure we were also taken care of from the moment we walked in and left. I will be coming back just from the service of these fine people and the amazing food here. If you wanted a mix of the Keg and your local seafood restaurant, this is the spot to go to.
the portions were generous and the meat had flavor. It s a very family restaurant where you feel good. The service was good but we were too rushed for the last call. The climate remains cold in the restaurant but relaxing.
Never been treated so badly in other restaurants. The server was very racist towards us when taking our order. Usually, in a restaurants a server make you feel welcomed and this server was least interested in taking our order. When a server is in charge of a table, he should make sure that his customers are taken care of. He came to our table not interested in asking us if we would like to order something to drink. We had screamed, excuse me like 5 times for him to take our drinks order but he wasnt interested in looking at our table. When he was passing by then I ordered a drink and when my husband was about to order his, the server turned around and walked away. After serving my drink, my husband tried again to order his drink and the server left. On his 4th or 5th round near our table then my husband ordered his drink. We were disappointed, weve never felt to uncomfortable that we had 3 appetizers and we left. Never returning back to this place.
Great dinner experience. Had the tomahawk pork chop. Service and atmosphere were great. Nice spot waterside.
Delicious!! Overpriced, tho. We were happy we had a coupon. I would love to see more accessible parking spaces. Every time we went by, there were none left. Im sure the building has the minimum number the government says they need to provide, but I think a few more should be added.
Great food and service.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing servers and accommodating chefs ! I wanted to to have linguini with Thai curry sauce instead of tomato sauce and they catered to my taste.. the ambiance is really good and my server was amazing.. had a lovely experience.. the food was everything I was craving for !
Our waitress was amazing! I would just go back there for her! The food tasted amazingly great. The oysters and lobster tails were very small for the price honestly but tasting really good. We ordered the surf and turf for two mounting of amazing veggies cooked to perfection. Just disappointed with the over cooked steak that tasted like water (frozen meat taste). Ceasar salad with kale was not our favorite. Mashed potatoes AWSOME! The scallop appetizer was out of this world!!! Really out of this world!
Very uncomfortable experience. Had seafood platter, prime ribs and ahi ahi tuna salad bowl. Ribs was great. But The noodles in the salad was clearly way undercooked. After mentioning it more than once the response we got was its a cold meal and yeah, sure! Apparently the food was not the only thing we experienced that was cold Have had cold meal/salad many many times and never ever had this issue. They took half the price of the salad when they brought the bill but tbh, the overall service was disappointing.
2.5 , we came here for lunch at 3pm, to our surprise some stuff on the menu were available only after5pm so we only order appetizerso(otherwise would be only fish and chips or burger ) and we didn t drive 2.5 hr for fries .Food is great .. but service tooooo slow , and restaurant was 10% full I can t imagine on busy time. You guys need more staff and train them better. Thanks
Kid-friendliness: High chair were available. Food
What great food, a shared surf and Turf platter on night 1 was amazing with steak done just right and moist lobster, not dried out. The extra veg and sauces were very tasty and did not overpower the mains. Bad part, no room for dessert.... The Prime rib dinner ($48 @ this time) was perfect, the meat was served hot; and done to perfection . Thanks to Darlene for the great service , timing and not hovering. Back soon Parking: Lots of parking available.
For our first time and last time at this restaurant this was an utterly disappointing experience, hostess was NOT accommodating in the slightest with the seating table arrangements. I would give this place negative stars for service if I could. To provide some context, we originally asked for outdoor seating but noticed the tables with shade were full, so we decided on indoor seating. I approached the hostess after I noticed people were leaving and asked if we could sit outdoor only left with disappointment with her denying us. Not sure if it s a restaurant issue but imagine being denied of sitting in the outdoor area after sitting down in the indoor area, despite having free tables, with only two other tables occupied in the indoor area & not having ordered the food. What kind of policy is that? I have NEVER been to a restaurant where this was an issue. What s the point of first come first serve outdoor seating if you re not letting people sit there because they opted into sitting indoor, and again, NOT being a full-house. This will be the first AND last time we re coming to this restaurant, food was good, took longer than expected but was overshadowed by the utter disappointment in how this was handled or rather lack thereof. One of my best friends highly recommended this restaurant so you can imagine how disappointing it was to realize our 2+ hour drive from Toronto turned out to be so upsetting. If you re here for the view and atmosphere be ready to be disappointed or at least make sure you re alright with sitting under the direct sun. EDIT: Had to make an edit since the owner would rather blatantly LIE to save face for their restaurant, I can GUARANTEE you that there was absolutely NO wait list for the outdoor seating, that is just false and inaccurate. Even if there was, it was NOT communicated through their hostess in any way whatsoever. I am baffled the owner would rather die on this hill than to take some accountability.
Everything was wonderful however their prices are exorbitant. My compliments to the chef though! Parking: It is inside the Living Water Resort and from where we stayed in the hotel we almost needed to take a bus to get there!
We shared the Surf and Turff platter. was Phenomenal, as was our server Taryn!
Had the best steak meal I have ever had. It was truly amazing. Staff was great and atmosphere is great as well
We had a family dinner this evening at Lakeside Grill (with 3 of us). While the service was good, our meals were terrible. The pork tomahawk dish was heavily salted and two of our dishes (the eggplant/zucchini pasta) were totally undercooked. The waitress quickly acknowledged this and offered to take these 2 dishes off of our bill which we appreciated. When the bill arrived, our server let us know that the manager only allowed her to remove one meal. I paid the $200 bill and when leaving spoke with the manager. She was rude & indifferent. I would not recommend this restaurant which is totally disappointing as we are locals who eat out often.
This was a perfect stop for lunch after a bike ride. Food was great; specialty sandwiches, beautiful salads and fun cocktails. Service was good and quick. We will definitely be going back.
Austin was an amazing waiter. Very attentive personable! Vegetarian options: Get the falafel bowl! Food : 5/5 |
The food is okay at best but the service is wayyy below average. Pretty pricey too for average food. Was there with some friends after a spa day and it took 2.5 hours for lunch. We had to constantly track down our server for drink refills and the food took a very long time. She also waited until after we were there for 30 minutes and ordered drinks and appetizers to tell us several menu items were unavailable. She overall seemed like she did not want to be there and couldn t be bothered to refill our waters. Half of our table didn t like the entrees they ordered as it was very average and bland so I d recommend skipping this place and going somewhere else in town. It seems this is just a tourist trap of sorts and the staff could care less about the guests. Came all the way from Calgary and would say overall this is somewhere you should skip.
Servers are too stoned to remember anything. My wife and son came in to eat dinner, for dinner I asked her to order me the Wagyu Burger for take out. The server completely forgot to place the order and asked my wife and son to wait for them to make it (it already took them 40 mins to get my sons chicken tenders out), they were already done eating and about to leave. Great job I went hungry at work on Father s Day.
Great service, food was good
Just get the brunch waffles. Yes the one with peanut butter. I hate sweets for breakfast/lunch but holy.. moly. Just do it.
Great food, very fresh with lots of options and great service. Cool spot. We will be back. Thanks!
Food was quite average, service was ok and we thought a bit pricey for what you got. There s better value in Collingwood for sure.
I took my family there Saturday, May 4th 6:00 pm we ordered the surf and turf. The lobster was very mushy and the steak was only room temperature it cost us over $300 for the dinner that day and it wasnt worth $30. Absolutely terrible food
The menu was decent as was the execution. Service was accommodating and professional. The atmosphere was outstanding with a view of the marina. This place was a pleasant surprise and it exceeded my expectations.
Unfortunately I cant say much about this place as the maitre d didnt seem to like us enough to let us in. I dont know if its because we arent Canadians or didnt dress rich enough. When we asked about the event of the night he lied and said it wasnt there. We went back with a pic of the advertisement from the elevator and he still said not here. Then we went to the front desk and they confirmed it was at the restaurant so we went back yet again and then he finally confirmed it was there and i think that was only because a waitress was there as a witness to him lying. Vary sad moment as I wasnt expecting this from what looks like a lovely place.
Not the best welcome when we arrived. The bar tender Paul was very pleasant and the only reason i gave any stars Still cant understand why we could only get fish and chips to go but not eat in Food : 5/5
10 out of 10 service and food, especially Marcia my daughter loves her, shes knowledgeable and friendly. Thumbs up and highly recommended!
Delicious food! Always a wonderful experience
The food here was really good! Our waitress was Tina and she was very attentive and lovely. The view of the bay is also a huge perk. Food
Food was good but overpriced
Service from Jessica and Alex was outstanding. Very professional, friendly, and attentive. Chef Joseph has a great menu, and all of the options we selected were well presented and taste delicious. Happy hour has a great menu for a good price 3-5pm. Will be back. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
Awesome place, Food is Delicious..Highly recommend..
Meat was excellent, both steak and pork tomahawk. Seafood could be better. Service was proper. Ambience was nice although tables were too close to each other. If you are planning for a romantic getaway, I recommend bookin the restaurant seat in the corner by asking in advance.
First time
You ll go for the views and stay for the food. Total package. The staff is great. And food is incredible.
Have visited this restaurant on several occasions and usually enjoyed food and service. Visited for dinner yesterday with 3 guests and had possibly the worst steak I have ever experienced. My wife had a falafel dish which was predominantly a large bowl of greens with a little falafel dumped in the middle. Other meals were okay. The restaurant also appears to have moved from being an upmarket venue to more of a Family restaurant with lots of kids. For a family restaurant, prices are very high. No longer recommended. Parking: Free and enough available
What a fun place to visit while staying at the Resort . Holly was awesome and so helpful.
This was our first time dining at Lakeside and we will certainly be back. Our group of 3 adults & a baby started with a dozen oysters which were fresh & tasty and instead of a set meal we opted to get several items from the appetizer list. We had the spring rolls, flatbread , calamari, family sharing bowl of Caesar salad and finally the charcuterie board. Everything was fresh & extremely delicious but the charcuterie gets top honours. It s the best I ve had. The board is designed for 2 to share and is bountiful. I highly recommend Lakeside Seafood & Grill.
Went for a birthday dinner. Food was amazing. Hoping the quality will not go down. We ordered the chicken pesto flatbread, and calamari for starters. Flatbread was flavourful, and the calamari has a nice kick to it. For the main, we ordered the tomahawk steak, which came with a huge ceaser salad (with nice chunks of fried bacon), super buttery and creamy mashed potatoes, and some nice cuts of vegetables. Also got the black bellow ipa and lager. The restaurant was a cozy little place, with a nice view of the waters.
Food was nice view was nice staff were nice overall nice....just nice .... one little hiccup with the dessert but was solved promptly and with no problems....on the $$$ side ... presentation of the food was awesome I will say that
The atmosphere was perfect. Out of the 5 appetizers we ordered (Caesar Salad, Bruschetta Flatbread, Prosciutto Wrapped Brie, Crab Arancini, and Crispy Beef Lettuce Wraps), our top choice was the Crispy Beef Lettuce Wraps. The crispness of that beef was absolute perfection, and the flavour was sweet and a little bit sour. Perfect. We were really excited about the Prosciutto Wrapped Brie, the Prosciutto was baked with the Brie. We thought how it would probably be interesting if the prosciutto wasn t baked, as baking it really took the flavour away from the prosciutto itself. We still ate everything and it was delicious. Really enjoyed our dinner at the Lakeside Seafood & Grill!
Came for brunch- vibes were great, the live music and atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately the food and service was sub par the food came out lukewarm, the eggs in the eggs Benedict were not runny, the whipped cream on the waffles was cool whip. It all tasted like it had been pre-cooked and reheated and had been sitting in a warmer for a long time. The waitress was friendly, but made us feel guilty and like an inconvenience for needing minor changes due to dietary restrictions. The prices were at least reasonable, but probably won t go out of my way to come back
We visited this restaurant midweek at lunchtime and ordered a beef burger with a side of fries and a beef pot pie with the house salad on the side. Their beef was great and delicious as was their house salad. I was a bit disappointed thoughwith my beed pot pie as I expected a traditional pot pie. But it came separately. So the beef and veggie stew came in a small bowl with a pastry/bread sitting on the top. Overall the food was delicious and our hostess was great too. It could have been nice to have images of dishes on the menu so you would know what you re getting especially if this is your first time ordering something new from the menu. Tip: check reviews with images of food before you go in, so that you ll have an idea of what you will get.
Great food and ambience. Will definitely come again.
Six of us were there two days ago on a Saturday night for dinner for a special occasion, the service was OK but not great. The atmosphere was not what we were expecting far far too noisy. The food was good but the prices are way too much for what you get far far overpriced. I know it doesn t matter to anyone, but probably will never go back to this place.
Had the steak plater, and it might be the best steak Ive ever had. Its a great atmosphere, and good service will definitely be visiting again
Had a nice lunch here today. Great service.
Highly recommend
We had a wonderful time sharing with friends there at lazy afternoon happy hour! Friendly and kind wait staff and foid were delicious!!
excellent food and service. sat at bar and enjoyed surf and turf platter. great taste and value
We took a mini vacation at Living Water Resort and Spa so naturally we had to try out Lakeside Seafood & Grill. We did book a reservation just in case but it seems you would be able to get a table if you walked in as we were there in their off season. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was an average wait time for the food, but well worth the wait. We ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Dip to start. The dip came with chips and naan bites which was delicious. For our mains we ordered the Grass Fed Beef Burger. To this day, this is one of the best burgers weve ever had. The beef was fresh and juicy, their sauce was tasty, and their veggies were fresh. Even if you were full, it just made you want to keep eating more. The fries were also nice and crispy! We also ordered the Brownie Trifle dessert to go. The dessert was also really good, it wasnt too sweet and definitely hit the chocolate craving. For the drinks we ordered the Blue Berry Mojito. This was mixed very well and there was a good balance between the alcohol and fruity taste. If youre in Collingwood or visiting, this is definitely a restaurant youll have to go to. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner. Steaks were cooked to perfection soup of the day was fantastic and my wife scallops were delicious (she said- no sharing lol) we will definitely be back on our next trip to the area.
We love the excellent service and quality of the food (big serving). I appreciated the restaurant s on the house cake for my birthday! Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is very accessible if you go through the entrance of the Living Water Resort.
Beautiful cozy restaurant thats located in the hotel. We had breakfast skillets. Food was great & staffs were super friendly. They have a little robot that guides you to your table! Wish they had a breakfast buffet but this was really nice as well.
Best Seaford Chowder! Bella & Marcia and the rest of the servers are Angels. Tirimisu Martinis are heavenly!!!
This place is the only true waterside Seafood restaurant in Collingwood. It has way more potential that it presents. Not only is the menu and wine list way over-priced but the food is just average at best. My wife and I went there for my birthday and ordered the surf and turf. The lobster tail was super expensive and when it arrived it was a two-bite tail, so small I couldnt believe it. When asked about this, the server told me its just what they get from supplier on any given day. It seems that Lakeside is buying the cheap lobster tails and selling them at premium prices. Further, the wine was $20/9oz glass for mediocre brand. The total bill was nearly $200 after tax/tip and for a very average atmosphere, this is one restaurant I will not recommend.
Such a horrible and overrated place. Worst Christmas dinner ever!! Our family spent well over $700 just to not eat most of the food because it was so bad and the server did nothing to rectify. Steak was chewy & full of fat we were spitting it out on our plate. Lobster was undercooked. We were overpromised over the phone by management just to be disgusted by the bad quality food and ill informed waitress on the menu. Wines on the menu out of stock Multiple appetizers and entrees sold out Waitress wearing an evil eye size of a baseball around her neck and made our entire family uncomfortable on Christmas. This place appears to be luxury seafood, but it s all a front for bad food and bad service.
Good food, great service! The lady who served us was warm, friendly, and professional. The ambience was pleasant. Food
One of a kind great meal, service, price
My parents and I went on an impromptu trip to Blue Mountain and absolutely fell in love with this restaurant. We stayed at Living Water Resort, so it was very convenient for us to visit this place. The atmosphere was incredible, the whole space looked simple, yet very elegant - I think I could spend hours just sitting there. The food was out of this world, we ended up ordering a second round of appetizers because we could not get enough - our biggest complements to the chef! We had the pleasure to be taken care of by Alex, who is very professional, easygoing, welcoming and definitely knows what he is doing. He heard that my parents did not speak English, so he switched to his native language to answer their questions, which elevated our dining experience even more because my parents felt more comfortable with someone who could speak freely with them. I think this was the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. I think I speak for both my parents and I that we would have dined there over and over again if we did not have to go back home. If you are in the area, make sure to call ahead and make a reservation - this is a restaurant you do not want to miss out on.
The atmosphere was great and catered to my young child...thats about it. We ordered the ceviche and lacked so much flavour we asked our server to bring salt and lime wedges. The $25 steak was disgraceful to say the least! I could have cooked that meal at home for 7 bucks and had better results.
I wasnt very pleased with the rice. The taste was off. One of us was not feeling well after eating scallops.
Obviously there are 2 people taking the seats, but they would rather stay where they are and use a robot to take us to sit down, and they are still talking and laughing at the door! In addition, the food is nothing special. This restaurant is not good.
Great food and great views! Feeling hungry? Try their signature Tomahawk steak, and add a lobster tail or two and make an amazing surf and turf meal! Everything on the menu seems curated to perfection! Great deserts too! Dietary restrictions: Willing to accommodate for various food allergies.
Friendly staff. Good food. Prompt service. 5 stars for the server.
Black Salomon is very delicious
The waitress was so cheerful, plus the food was delish and didnt take long at all. I recommend the muscles, they were sooo good. The view of the water was a nice bonus. Perfect date night spot!
It was difficult choosing a menu item. I ended up going with the cobb salad with a buttermilk fried chicken breast which was fine. The rest of my party ordered the arrancini, truffle fries, spin dip. The prices were a bit high but overall it was a good experience. The restaurant is located on the marina so the ambiance was 10/10.
My wife and I were vacationing in Collingwood for the 35th consecutive year, this time without daughters, sons-in-law, or granddaughters. Our 50th Anniversary had been July 7 and we wished to have a special dinner/evening out. We decided to go to the Lakeside Seafood & Grill on July 10, to celebtate, as we had not been there previously and it was not far from our resort. We requested and got a table on the upper patio level, overlooking the marina and Georgian Bay. Holly, our server was friendly and attentive. The food was great and well presented. My wife had the Pork Tomahawk and I had the 6 oz Beef Tenderloin, both prepared as per our requests, and flavourful. I particularly liked the creamy mashed potatoes! Once Holly realized/discovered it was a special occasion, she arranged for a complimentary floral cheesecake dessert.... yum. Thanks Lakeside staff, we will return... Dave & Sue
Went for early dinner, late lunch, overlooking the water. The food & atmosphere was great! Service was lovely. I would come again for sure. Salmon was fantastic!
Very nice dinner! The porridge is the most impressive one. I like their ceiling design. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu is nice
Service was a little slow but friendly
My friend and I passed by here on our way home. We were looking for a restaurant in Collingwood that made ceviche. Despite there being a couple Mexican restaurants, no ceviche. Luckily we found this place, so we stopped for a quick bite. The ceviche itself wasn t bad, would be nice to have tortillas with it than the lettuce wrap. Also, the sauce on top wasn t really necessary. A little more citrus would have been great though. We also ordered some oysters and the mussels. The mussels were very good, the broth it was good in was delicious and it also comes with a side of bread and butter. For the oysters, they only offered one type. They were pretty small, half a dozen came to $22.00. Overall, we had a nice time and will probably return if we are in the area.
Thank you for a nice meal. That mussels was insane I need that recipe for angelhair! So good.
The restaurant atmosphere is nice. We like to treat ourselves from time to time to Lakeside Seafood. We started with charcuterie board, it was okay. The meat and cheese selections were better than our last visit. The Salmon dinner this time was overcooked, the shrimp pasta was also bland. Perhaps its crowded that day, will try again next time ;)
Ok service but wanted a premium tip..
Three of us shared the surf and turf platter, which included a caesar salad to start as well as the main. We did order a small appetizer to get started, and at the end of the meal, we were too full to even think about dessert. Every aspect of the food preparation was exquisite. With the extra thick bacon bits and excellent dressing the salad was the best caesar Ive had in years. Every item in the platter was prepared to perfection, from the atlantic lobster tail to the filet mignon pieces, the shrimp, the mussels, the crab, the vegetables and the mashed potatoes too! And everything arrived at the perfect temperature! That is so hard to do! An outstanding meal delivered with outstanding service. I will not hesitate to recommend this place and to go back again when I have the chance. P.S. the pricing included a bottle of wine, a cocktail and another drink.
The only redeeming quality this place has, is the lakeside view. The food though beautifully presented, was a great disappointment in terms of quality, flavor, and authenticity. An unjustifiably, highly overpriced menu. The clam chowder was a big bowl of overly creamed, thickly starchy, under seasoned bowl of goop that required a search party to locate any evidence of any actual clams. The ceviche wraps were perhaps the chefs personal interpretation of a representation of a pedestrian seafood salad you might bring to a family BBQ. Tossed in a watered down mayonnaise dressing which lacked any hint of flavor. The Blueberry Mojito mocktail was nothing more than an overly sweet, syrupy, fancy, grown up version of a Shirley Temple. Thankfully the great company I was with, made up for how unimpressive this restaurant was.
The bartender Paul was fabulous. The drinks were great. Loved the Spicy Paloma one and the berry Mojito, he sure mastered those drinks. Kursti was a fabulous manager, the steak and sweet potato fries were covered with table salt and she handled it well. The pork tomahawk was great but again too much salt. The service makes up for the food. We will be back just ask for less salt is all. Loved our night out. Thank you! 5 star service.
Great service from Jessica, food was pretty good, beef dip on a panini pressed sandwich was different (hard to dip!) usually comes on a French stick .. Deck/Patio is a kinda tired . Food
Personally I didn t like the dish I got (but that s just me). But my family loved their steaks!! All I was hearing from them were songs of praise. After trying a bite of the steak myself I had to agree with them. I do think however that the food is pricey but I would think that would be expected for a hotel restaurant. Overall i was satisfied with our service (the waiter was so wonderful) and the view was spectacular, got a gorgeous view of the sun setting over the lake! I believe I m speaking for all my family members when I say, I ll be back.
I had the bacon cheeseburger and homemade mushroom soup. Both were EXCELLENT!! I also ordered the chef choice dessert, which happened to be carrot cake - my favourite! It was lovely to sit where I could see the water! I would go there again, and again! Parking: There was plenty of free parking.
The waiter made great suggestions. Great Brie appetizer to start. The prime rib was excellent. The carrot cake cheesecake was awesome! We already have reservations to go back tomorrow.
I stayed at the resort and ate at this restaurant twice (breakfast/dinner). The staff here are amazing. Make you feel welcome and very knowledgeable about the food. The food itself is delicious, I was hesitant to get the suf/turf platter but after the servers recommendation and seeing many of these plates coming out of the kitchen it was well worth it. Food here is top notch and I highly recommend. One of the best steaks Ive had.
There was literally nothing that could have made our experience any better. Service (Brad) was EXCEPTIONAL. Food was incredible. I do not eat steak EVER and I opted to try one. Delicious. The scenery was beautiful. Eventhe music playing was perfect.
If you are looking for a relaxed semicasual, Lakeview, good seafood & good service restaurant... then you will enjoy the Lakeside Seafood & Grill...
Amazing place and Joe was an amazing server
We had a great meal with great service
Amazing service and even better cuisine. Lots of seafood options available throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner! Phenomenal lobster eggs Benedict
The recommendation was through Vitality Vacations and so we attended the restaurant and the atmosphere was okay at first but within the next min or so there was a fly that just kept flying around. I spoke to the host and she proceeded to say because their patio doors were opened so I beared with the situation but as we continued to eat the fly just kept pitching all over our food. At this point I was BEYOND PISSEDDDDD!!! I push my plate to the side as I am not going to be eating food that flies keep pitching on. When I told the waitress Karen she said if there aren t flies in Toronto? Are you kidding me right now and then said she would send the manager then came back and said the manager is offering dessert. Are you guys crazy I have been to so many restaurants and this is AN ABSOLUTE FIRST ESPECIALLY AT AN HIGH END RESTAURANT. Just imagine you get all dressed up for a great night at what s suppose to be a great restaurant and you are trying to eat but have to constantly be fanning away flies and the manager didn t even see it important to come and speak with you about your concerns! Do better I wish there was zero stars! I would never recommend! EVERRR!!!!
It was great all around!
Was down there for my vacations this year, first night after driving 6h30 hours to get to Collingwood we decide to eat here at Lakeside. The food was so on point for my expectation and so as my vegetarien girlfriend was excellent. I shouldve kept this restaurant for the last day cause no other restaurant met my expectation for food and experience as much as this one. I say its a must for Seafood & Grill Lovers!!
Awedome food, good environment, very nice people.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were as well but Id say the star of the show was our server. I highly recommend Lakeside and if you do stop by ask to be seated in Brads section! You wont regret it.
Mediocre food and service.
Great view, service and food!
Despite having clear pictures on their menu showing the proper colour and appearance of doneness of steak, they failed to serve me a medium-cooked steak two times in a row. After I sent back the first one and the chef denied it was overcooked, their second steak came out and was better, but still overdone, inarguably medium-well by anyone remotely familiar. I am not particularly picky, but they were asking $60 for this piece of meat and a side of potatoes. That and denying us outdoor deck seating by the marina due to wasps, tarnished my experience, which is only brought to three stars by my compatriots enjoying their (non-steak) dishes. Still overpriced.
Extremely overpriced for quality of food. Very limited fish dishes for a seafood restaurant. Misleading website, looks great from the photos but less so in real life. Rude waiter. Would not recommend.
What a bad experience. We ordered the surf and turf platter and 2 HOURS later it did arrive, meat was raw and tasteless and flavorless, the lobster seemed to have been reheated in microwave, and as for the PEI clams, again tasteless, WAY over priced, lots of vegetables through. As for our server, they stated they were busy (arent all restaurants at dinner??), unless you dress in a fancier way, you may get little more special treatment, at least with our server unfortunate to see this type of behavior still exists. The place was crowed and noisy, and the 2 ppl tables were way too close to each other. The only good thing out of this experience was our starters and Overall, I will not be going there, nor do I recommend the place.
I love coming here for the view and great food.
Great spot by the water. Nice patio or inside. Great view of the yacht club boats and water. Food
Guitarist too loud for the setting but otherwise very nice with great view of the water. Lovely in warmer weather as you can have lunch on the deck
Nice place, food was ok, our meals were overcooked and small for the price.
Very disappointed, left hungry. It was 630pm on a Friday night and they ran out of 10oz striplion already, so we had the pan shear Pickeral(chefs special) and it was pretty tasteless, not cooked right and way to much lemon. The Bruschetta flatbread was very good Food
Recommended to us .Food was delicious.. lil bit of a wait for our main course.. one hour to be exact.. other than that a great experience. Really enjoyed the Mussels..
Make sure you ask the server Jessica when you go... the eggs benedict was lovely, this was brunch, eating looking at the water. Spring rolls - so good. The STEAKS are amazing, I had mine medium well, so juicy... mashed potatoes and veggies, yummy yummy yummy Its all YUMMY
Beautiful place and the best service in the area. Dont think too much, here the food is amazing and the service is better.
Our server was fantastic! Food was delicious and prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend
We ate on the patio and enjoyed watching the water and marina. The food was delicious and worth the $.
Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free options. Food
Very talented chef. Everything is prepared with finesse and good taste. Pleasant site near a marina. Georgian Bay at its best.
Had the seafood platter for two.. and what can I say.. It was amazing!! We also got the seafood chowder, which was good, too. 9/10 food 10/10 service 7/10 atmosphere Parking: Lots of space and not far from the door. Kid-friendliness: Open relaxed space.
Overall experience was good and service was good as well. The food was okay. We had breakfast/brunch here and their eggs Benedict were just okay. We also ordered the crème brûlée rendu toast and was fairly disappointed. This was just a bread pudding that was caramelized on the top. I expected something that would equal the dish name. Other than that, it was a fairly good experience. Service was great though!
Great environment, very friendly and helping staff. Fresh and good quality food. Vegetarian options: Thee staff and kitchen made amendments to cater to our needs Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is amazing. Jessica was friendly and helpful towards kids .over all great experience
We had the prim rib dinner and it was fabulous
Whitby s best restaurant!
Very loud after a while and hard to hear my friends. The gluten free brushetta was tasty but too much toppings making it messy. The fries were over salted. Salad was OK but the chicken was tough. Server was awesome and made the experience enjoyable in spite of the food.
Beautiful view and excellent service
Food was delicious and service from server (Brad) was exceptional - thank you!
Good food, friendly staff. Loads of options for kids as well.
We have visited this restaurant several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed with the service or the quality of the food which is always beautifully presented.
Thank you for an amazing birthday celebration for my wife this evening, we shared the seafood platter for 2 and everything was on point. The presentation was excellent and the flavors were amazing. What made it really special was our server Jenny who was very attentive and a true pleasure to deal with. We ll be back for sure!
Good food Good service
It was super it was our wedding Anniversary and they surprised us with nice dessert it was delicious the main course and appetizer were delicious
Thank you for the delicious food and nice atmosphere with amazing music
We ended up dining here for three of our meals while staying at the resort. We absolutely loved the restaurant! Very bright and welcoming. Beautiful view of the water. All of our meals were excellent. Pricing is on par with other restaurants in the area, but here you know you ll get quality food. Service was great as well!
Sunday was prime rib night and it was delish was done perfectly, service was on spot and the atmosphere great! I would recommend, although it is expensive, but worth it.
I can say enough good things about the staff, and especially the server who handled everything. She offered a great deal of information about the local area. The information was very helpful. My meal (peanut butter banana waffles) was outstanding. The meal for others (salmon eggs benedict) was equally outstanding. It was an awesome way to start my day. I highly recommend this restaurant.
