Prime Seven Nine in Collingwood

Beautiful restaurant inside but what kind of place that serves burgers doesn t have mustard? I asked my server and he said that they were out and someone else had the same complaint. I found that very odd and disappointing for a large restaurant to not carry one of the most popular condiments. Couldn t enjoy my burger because of that. I expected so much more.

Celebrated my birthday at Prime. The food service, and staff were excellent. I really enjoyed the evening. Would definitely return. Thanks to everyone.

Had the blackened cod it was to die for and would most definitely order it again. Our server was too notch and recommended the cod and he was bang on. Love this place and will frequent their dining room often

If you are ever in Collingwood please stop by Prime 79 , we did. It is a small quaint restaurant with great atmosphere! Our server was Len and he is exceptional. Very attentive and professional. The food was exceptional as well I had the calamari and salad, my husband had the spicy pasta which was very good. I would rate this place 10 out of 10!!!! Unfortunately the server got our son s order wrong (which happens) but he ordered a drink while everyone else ate their dinner we while preparing his proper order and I thought the least they would do is not charge him for the beverage. Also, we were there for an 80th birthday party (11 of us) and most restaurants offer the birthday individual some kind of dessert on the house but once again, nope.

Had an amazing experience here! The atmosphere was fantastic perfect vibe for a birthday celebration out. The food was excellent, with everything tasting fresh and well-prepared. Special shoutout to Len, who made the experience even better with outstanding service. Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, Len ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We had my husband s 50th birthday in the vault and everything was perfect from start to finish. Len was absolutely fantastic and anticipated our needs before we even asked. My daughter much appreciated the Sprite with many many maraschino cherries, as did I. Thank you to the chef for writing Happy Birthday in Japanese on the cake. We will definitely be returning again. First time visit for us and was blown away with the food, service and giving us our requested private table. Had a fantastic dinner at Prime 79. The food and atmosphere was top tier. However, what really made our night was the fantastic service from Anastosio. The pride he takes in his customers satisfaction was palpable, and well definitely be back to see him again!

Had a wonderful mid afternoon lunch / dinner. Anastasio is perhaps one of the most polished server who provides a concierge experience... the fact that he has worked abroad and is accustomered to providing white table cloth and white glove service shows. His love of people is so natural and sincere that it was perhaps one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had in many years. Considering the location I was very surprised it had Toronto prices $$$. The servers and the lychee martini was great however while my dish said it would be spicy it wasn t and lacked a bit of flavour.

My husband and me were in town for the day.Just had to stop in for delicious lunch here ..and its so beautiful inside with amazing music and chill vibe. We couldve stayed hours. Occasion: Our 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration on Sat. Sept. 21st Thank you so much, Sylvain & your very personable, professional & highly skilled team & especially Len, our server who was fantastic! Len was friendly, courteous, charming, always attentive, professional & very knowledgeable about the menu & the wines. He recommended the best appetizers for our group, the daily menu special, the trout, which many of us ordered, including me & my husband & it was so perfect & delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meals & the awesome service by Len! He even gave close attention & compliments to our happy 23 month old great nephew who sat so patiently in his high chair for over 2½ hours! He did have some toys & other guests also paid attention to him. He loved the fries as we all did so we ordered more! The wines Len recommended which we chose were divine & accompanied our meals beautifully! Loved them all! The gorgeous main room with the high ceilings became a bit noisy later, as expected, but we still managed to deliver our short speeches although Im not sure everyone in our group heard us very well. Turning down the music as Id earlier requested, for our speeches, didnt really seem to be an option, sadly. Altogether, we had a wonderful experience for our 50th Anniversary. So many great memories! I got the steak and frites and it was subpar. Steak was a bit over cooked but also a little cold. Wouldn t be rushing back. Buuuuut the chicken bites for an appetizer were absolutely amazing! Also the service was top notch. If anything go for a drink and try the chicken bites appy!

Our last experience was pretty good, and the waiter did a decent job considering how busy it was. One big drawback is the place is pricey.

This one was difficult for me. Our server was friendly, engaging and genuinely invested in our enjoyment. She made the experience much better than it would have actually been. All of us enjoyed our meals, food was hot and arrived timely. But... It took over ten minutes to have anyone even speak to us after we were seated. The restaurant seemed slammed just after we were seated. Drinks (which we could see) sat on the bar for another 15 minutes. The owners of the restaurant were walking around talking to guests but didnt help out in what was obviously a overwhelming time for severs. We ordered a bottle white wine which arrived very warm . Server was extremely apologetic which definitely helped. Wouldnt likely go back sadly.

5 of us had dinner at Prime last night. We were celebrating a very special event. 3 out of 5 of us ordered the rainbow trout - special of the day. I had the blackened salmon and another friend had the steak/frites. The fish meals lacked any flavour, fish was bland, and the sauce with the rainbow trout was nonexistent. We had to ask for salt, pepper and lemon to help the fish meals. The fish was also very dry. The waitress brought over some lemon on a napkin instead of a plate. And then the waitress didn t check on our meals once condiments were dropped off. In retrospect, we should have said something last night. We had high expectations of Prime. And don t think we will return for dinner. We hope that this review will bring some ways to improve the quality of your food and service.

Prime 79 is our go-to spot for all celebrations! Whether its date night or girls night out, its always a great time with the staff and the food never disappoints! Would definitely recommend booking the private dining experience in the historic vault. Ive had several birthday dinners in the vault and it was the perfect setting for a more intimate, private dining experience! Thx to the team for always taking care of us!

We had such a lovely evening at this restaurant! We visited with a group of friends and we were seated in The Vault, a great space for a larger party. We all love the dishes we ordered. Visited your establishment yesterday, Sunday for dinner and instantly loved the decor and the vibe from the staff. We both enjoyed the cesaer salad and salmon. The salmon was seasoned to perfection and thoroughly enjoyed. Our server, Brittany was the best! She easily adapted to our vibe and our needs. Her fun loving personality resulted in our restaurant experience being the best ever. Touché to Brittany!

Phenomenal experience, I cannot highlight that enough. The owner was very hands on, friendly, and helpful for every part of the experience and the food was just mind blowing. I came in on crutches, they have a ramp at the back. The owner even went out of the way to ask me if they could do anything to make the restaurant more accessible. Definitely went over and above, Id reccomend to anyone.

Beautiful building but that is where it ends. Poor service. Food was cold and just not good at all. Made a reservation and we were stuck by the front door in front of a large speaker. Asked to sit elsewhere due to I am hearing impaired but they said it was all booked. We were there for 1.5 hours and at least 6 other tables were available the entire time. Only seen our waiter 3 times. When we got there and ordered 40 minutes later when we got our food (cold) and again when we paid. Never came to offer a refill on our drinks other than when he brought out food. My wife had a coffee after dinner and it tastes like soap from the dishwasher. Terrible place!!!

Service was amazing, even coming with menu suggestions that did make our meal and dinning much better. Atmosphere was definitely nice and elegant. Good place to take someone. The food is good, but the steak type, thickness and seasoning was not the best for the price. It was an ok steak, but did expect better for the atmosphere, service and price.

We recently visited Prime 79 with friends. Great ambience/atmosphere here. Immediately greeted at the door and shown to our table. Excellent service from start to finish. Food was top notch - our.table really enjoyed the octopus, the lamb shank was fall off the bone perfect. Pickerel was a great special of the day. Nice wine selection. A quite varied menu - something for everyone. A must visit for your stay/visit in Collingwood.

Last Friday evening, September 13, 2024 my husband and I ordered the Steak Frites. When the mystery meat arrived, we commented to our waiter that neither plate was rare or medium rare, as requested. The meat was thin and overcooked and tasted like inexpensive liver. The waiter said that next time we dined at Prime, the food would be served as we requested. We expected at least one dinner to be complimentary, but no amount was deducted from our grand total bill of $450. Our friends who live in Collingwood, whom we were visiting for the weekend, were surprised at the quality of the meal and the flippant comment made by our waiter. Our friends told one of the owners about our experience. Disappointing.

the steak was so salty

We had an awesome time at Prime 79 on the patio this past Friday evening! We were impressed by the menu and its interesting offerings! It was difficult to choose but our choices were amazing! This was all brought together with fantastic service from Niki and other team members that looked after us from start to finish there! Highly recommend!

Con Funghi pasta $32 was exceptional! The Blackened Salmon $38 was disappointing. The Truffle Fries $14 was as expected. The Pink Panther $13 was watered down but the Michters Maple Sour $15 was delicious. The old historic building was well maintained and the staff were attentive. Came here in a Monday - half price wine. Didnt have any wine but its good to know for another time. Vegetarian options: Con Funghi

Excellent EVERYTHING, we went back a second time!! We were visiting Collingwood/Blue Mountain for the first time. We arrived mid afternoon on a Fri and came in to this beautiful restaurant and asked if we could still get a late lunch. (It was 330) The staff accommodated my family of 4. Super friendly and the food was excellent. We had.. Cajun chicken tacos, burger and fries, fish and chips and the lunch special.. fish sandwich with tomato soup. We went back on Sun for dinner. Although they were booked in the dining room, we were able to get a table on the patio. We had chicken in a Thai chilli sauce, pasta ,chicken tacos.. again and burger and fries. The host LUKE, as well as our waiter KYE (hope I spelt that correctly) for lunch and the second LUKE (for dinner), were amazing. So friendly and professional. Props to the chef and their kitchen staff for such great food and presentation!! And to the owner of this well run establishment.. you should be proud of your team!!

Went with a group and had a set menu. Price and selection of the menu were great. However as we were larger we were split into two tables - no problem. Except that the service was awful!! Dishes came out of sequence and the production of our bills was delayed. The steak frites was meh. They didn t ask how anyone would like it cooked and said they would be all medium rare - ended up more like medium well. The atmosphere and design of the resto were great. The burrata and beet appetizer was excellent and the polo assada was great. Not rushing back.

Cool place with so much potential but Holy cow, did the food really suck. With a chef eating with us, we could tell a lot of stuff was precooked, using left overs that were going bad and not well executed. Even used repackaged gravy on steak. The pollo was super over cooked with no seasoning, shared plates were small. The waiter was really lovely and the atmosphere was really nice but super disappointing on the food for the spot.

Enjoyed dining here the decor was beautiful. Had the prime rib sliders and lamb shank both were fantastic. Service was great. Highly recommend

This is a fantastic restaurant! My wife and I had dinner here for our 10th wedding anniversary. The staff are very professional, the atmosphere is great, and the food is incredible. There are some minor points Id like to mention though. First, the restaurant website doesnt seem to work consistently: if we hadnt driven by the restaurant in person, we would not have made a booking. Secondly, when booking through OpenTable, the app asks if the dinner is for a special occasion: adding this information doesnt seem to have any bearing on the meal or service, so why ask for it? However, these two points are really minor ones: Im nitpicking at this point in the review. The best way I can end this review is by saying this: we live 3 hours away from Collingwood, and would happily make the drive in order to eat here again.

Len, our server, was wonderful. The atmosphere and ambiance was nice. Tables were close to one another and we had loud guests behind us which we could have done less of. We were there to celebrate our anniversary with our children and we all enjoyed our meals. For our appetizers we had the grilled octopus, beet & burrata, truffle fries and bruschetta. We left no crumb. As for our meals, we had the filet and N.Y. Strip with veggies and potato as our sides. The serving sizes were good and we still left with a take out container. We sat near the bar in a high top table. Not my first choice for an intimate gathering for a special occasion but was nice nonetheless. Price is on the higher side but the quality was worth it. Well be back again. Thank you Len for making it a wonderful experience.

I grew up in Collingwood and prime is one of the places I frequented with my dad growing up - we were always so excited for a nice dinner between the two of us, I hadn t been for a few years having left town but in the last year or so it s become a staple spot for me in the downtown, the lychee martinis are my favourite and the tuna tataki / frutti di mare are the go to always. The staff are some of my favourite ever and make me feel right at home whenever I walk in - thanks for being my friends ily prime

My wife and I dined at Prime 7 Nine Tonight. We had made reservations and when we arrived our table was ready and the staff were very friendly. Our food was delicious, we started with the warm olives and bread, which was fantastic. My wife ordered the potato gnocchi and I had the Polo Chicken. Both dishes were served fresh and warm and exceeded our expectations. We ended our meal with a piece of Cheese Cake which was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a quiet date night or a family outing. Thanks to Kerry and Sylvain for having us and we will be back!

We had a mixed party regarding food preferences, so this review reflects the diversity of food choices. One of the party has eaten at some exceptional steak houses. One enjoys steak a lot. And there was a vegetarian in the group too. The truffled fries were what one would expect. The fries were good, the aioli was fine. Truffled fries have been done to death, but they re fine. The meatballs were good. The pasta con funghi was also good, perhaps a little rich, but pasta al dente, truffled cream sauce and mushrooms were tasty. Couldn t finish the entire dish, however. The filet mignons were excellent and quite good . The mash with the one filet was not that great, but the steak made up for it. The wine by the glass options were fine, but nothing exciting, nothing outstanding and nothing adventurous. The cocktails were quite good. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was good. The host was genial and welcoming and our server was very good. Overall, a pleasant experience. Given the options, it was quite pricey for what it was.

We enjoyed. a Mother s Day brunch. Succeeded expectations. I d single out the service. It was outstanding. They really tried to make Mother s Day a special occasion. Including entertainment. And succeeded. I will be going back.

Had a fabulous lunch with 3 other friends, we all enjoyed our time here, it was a great experience all the way around! We had a new server that was very good, attentive and knew the menu! The bar tender was outstanding too, he made perfect cocktails, we loved every sip! They both were fun. The food was very very, fresh, tasty, food presentation was appealing & appetizing perfect portion sizes, the restaurant is uptown! I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant & next time I am in town, I will be there for dinner!

Great location, nice ambiance however service sub par at best. Waitress was not attentive, kept forgetting about our party, kept disappearing. We were waiting for our entrees over 2 hours - food was just ok, I have dined in the restaurant before and food used to be of better quality. Drinks were tasty.

We went here Saturday evening. The food we ordered were super delicious! The staff were great, and the atmosphere is amazing. It does get pretty loud but when we were there, the room was packed. The menu is a little pricey, but they actually give a decent or larger portion size, so for me, it was worth it. Would definitely come here again!

We came on a Saturday night - it was reallt busy (we had made reservations)!. We ordered bruschetta trio (large portion size), burrata (fresh and served with thick slices of prosciutto ), lamb shank and NY striploin. Everything was flavourful and delicious. Service was quick. One the pricey side is my only con.

Food is actually quite decent but service is really poor, our server had a real chip on his shoulder and acted like he was running some high end NY steak joint.

We were in town for my daughters 18th birthday, so we decided on this place. The food was ok. I ordered the Tuscan chicken. Small portions for the price. I would say 10oz (1.25 cups) of pasta in a portion, which is ok however at $27 it wasnt magic pasta so it was not worth the price to me, especially since it had 2 or 3 chunks of chicken. 4 small hard pieces of bread for $4. Arugula salad with 1 cherry tomato and a sliver of onion for $17. We went at night and it was super dark inside. Staff was not friendly but it was close to closing, so they were rushing to clean and get rid of the ppl.

What a FANTASTIC evening! We had our staff Christmas Party at Prime 79 and Kerry & Sylvain made us feel very very special. This was a lovely meal in a restaurant with attentive, kind staff and a great atmosphere. The food was delicious and the dumplings appetizer was especially good. The restaurant was full so be sure to reserve in advance. Looking forward to eating here again.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary. The food was okay, we ordered the burger and the ribs and the Frito misto but we found the server wasnt very attentive. We had read a lot of great reviews but for the money, the service was so so and the food was just okay.

Great food and great atmosphere! Sleekly renovated vintage bank building provides a spacious and luxurious vibe. The steaks are amazing, especially striploin! Nice cocktails ... feels like a slightly upscale Keg, but similar pricing.

My husband and I came from out of town for dinner before the comedy show, our server was very pleasant and attentive. He had steak and I had chicken marsala. Food was delicious. If youre looking for a nice romantic setting restaurant we recommend getting reservations here.

My husband, friends and I went to Prime 79 last Monday night following a movie. We always love this restaurant as the building is beautiful, service is always excellent and food delicious. On this evening one of the owners (Sylvain) came by to check on our food and experience and we spent over 1/2 hr chatting with him about local news and business. He is just a delightful person and his love of his restaurant, taking care of his guests and Collingwood as a whole is very genuine. This is hands down our favourite restaurant in the Georgian Bay Area! We ve tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Best ribs, rack of lamb and their catch of the day is always a great catch. Consistently great food and service. Truly a prime experience and I m not an easy person to impress when it comes to food. This place is a true gem of Collingwood! Holly was our most recent server - and we have to shout out all of our previous servers (wish we remembered their names) - fantastic team!

My wife and I ate here on a Thursday evening and the place was packed and service was great. We both enjoyed our food and Sylvain made sure to take care of us. Will definitely be back next time we are in Collingwood.

The restaurant is beautiful, you can see the kitchen upstairs. They were able to accommodate our needs: a table with some extra space for the stroller. I ordered truffle mushrooms pappardelle; portion size was perfect for me but it was missing a bit of salt and didn t feel the truffle flavour or aroma. Service is courteous and helpful. Definitely I will come back

GREAT PLACE, little cozy restaurant, if you are in Collinwood, you MUST try, great people treaded us like they knew us, our waitress Shelley was awesome and had a beautiful smile, Zook the bartender was amazing, walked up to us to check how our drinks were, thanks Zook! My bf and I had the Filet mignon for main, and it was really good, and I am a steak person that tries a steak about everywhere I go. We are definitely going back anytime we are up there.

Our dinner was excellent. Our server was Rene. She was friendly, fun and efficient. Food and atmosphere was very good.

I attended Prime Seven Nine recently for a corporate function and it was amazing! Everything was very well organized and the service and food were great. It s a wonderful spot right downtown to host any private event as Sylvan, Kerry and the rest of the staff pull out all of the stops to make it a wonderful outing ensuring all are happy and taken care of. I happened to have also been there the following week for the Mother s Day brunch and once again they did not disappoint with a special menu and complimentary cocktail. I would highly recommend booking this restaurant for any private or corporate function there isn t quite another venue like it.

I am sorry to say this was one of the disappointing evenings I have encountered. The service was fine, not great but the food was very poor quality. 4 out of 5 of us were so disappointed. When the manager did finally appear after 3 requests to see him. He was obnoxious and talked down to us seniors. He arrived at the table with a chip on his shoulder an continued to tell us how good they are and they own the building. What that had to do with food I dont know. Bottom line....Will not be back and hope I save others from wasting their money.

We love this restaurant. We were greeted with warmth and efficiency tonight. Sylvain, Rina and our waitress made our evening and dining experience so enjoyable. I really liked my Prime warm, chicken salad but honestly everything I ve eaten here has been yummy.

Two of us dined in on a Monday at Prime 79. the service was pathetically slow. I asked three times for a piece of lime for my water. Salads took 30+ minutes and then mains (a burger and ribs) took another 30+ minutes. We would not order dessert for fear of another wait. Fries came out cold but were replaced. Our server was sweet but that doesnt cut it when the bill for a simple meal is $136+ with no alcohol and just one diet pop. Food was meh! The place is pretty and has so much potential but the service is terrible! This was my third time at Prime post pandemic. First time was good, second time was slow but pretty good. Third time was a bust. I wont be back until I hear you get your act together. Perhaps some more people in the kitchen instead of a chatty person who just seats people would help.

Not a great experience. I expected much better for a high end restaurant. Food was okay, service was poor and neglectful. I don t take these things lightly but figured I needed to post for others to hear. Unless you are a buddy of one of the servers or the general manager (who was drinking at the bar the entire time we were there schmoozing with his buddies when not attending the front desk) I feel you were not treated with the respect or attentiveness. Snide remarks and belittling were also not welcome by the managerial staff when asking about our drinks or meal. This may sound petty but I assure you I made this review for a reason. Good luck to this establishment in the future.

Had the fillet mignon and it did not disappoint! Food and cocktail was great and the service was excellent. Definitely want to try some other things on the menu!

We had two apps and two mains. The fritto misso was fairly good, however you cant really screw up fried seafood. We also had the tuna tataki. It was well decorated, however the fish was a bit over cooked and its not fresh. It only needed a sligh sear, but the chef had seared it too long and ruined the fish. We had two pasta plate as our main. Although it was recommended by the server, we would never ever order the Truffle Pappardelle again. There is no truffle in the pasta, not even a little truffle sense. It was a mushroom Pappardelle and no truffle. It wasnt bad but do not advertise as Truffle if there is no truffle. Our 2nd pasta was linguine Bolognese, it was very light and not much taste. The restaurant had good ambience, but lack on the food. Would not recommend.

My sister and I had an amazing Birthday dinner tonight with Shannon as our Server .one of the best meals and dining experiences I ve had in ages everything was executed to perfection and Shannon was perfectly attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back the next time we re in Collingwood! Thank you.

Second time visiting today, first time was with friends and today just my partner. Food has been impressive both times, specifically recommend trying the calimari as it s the best we ve found. Really fair pricing on food + drinks. Really beautiful restaurant with attention to detail. Great service, definitely a good go to for a good dinner with friends or a date night :)

Our server was Shannon for my graduation celebration and everything was beyond amazing! Food was delicious, fast service and great atmosphere. Make sure you try their specials, well worth it!

My wife and I had a lovely time . service was attentive and the atmosphere was lively, people were obviously enjoying themselves. Our dinner was excellent , rack of lamb grilled to perfection bottom line : we had fun on our 34 year wedding anniversary will be back !

Review Very disappointing experience. Reservations for 3 were made on Opentable and specified it was for a 40th birthday dinner. Restaurant itself was nice inside. Busier then we thought it would be on a Monday night but overall had good decor and ambiance. Server came over quickly to offer us water and drinks but seemed like she was not in a good mood at all, made no effort to small talk or be friendly. We ordered drinks, the Peggy s salad and bread service to start. The salad was very bland and save your money on the so called bread service, we got 4 tiny pieces of stale bread. We placed our main course order shortly after the drinks were dropped off. We ordered the Blackened Salmon, Rack of Lamb and Mushroom Pappardelle. We requested the Lamb and Salmon to be cooked well done. The server, still being rather short and not all that friendly asked us if we have ever ate lamb and salmon well done and are we sure that s what we want. I think at 40+ years old we know how we like our food cooked. I ve been a server/bartender all my adult life so I was just very surprised at her order taking approach. Not sure if she was just having a bad day but she seemed very annoyed and short with us from the moment we sat down. After convincing her that yes we want our food cooked well we then proceeded to wait 45 min for our mains to be brought out. While we are used to waiting a bit longer for well done dishes it should not take 45 min to cook any of the we ordered. When we finally got our food, the salmon arrived with fingerlings potatoes instead of mashed. When I pointed it out to the server she said oh yes I know you ordered mashed is the fingerling ok instead? I said no I would like the mashed. At this point we are at almost at the hour mark and we are hungry. Instead of leaving my plate so I could start eating with the the people at my table and going to get a side of mashed potatoes, she took my entire plate away. When I received my plate back and finally started to eat I got the lovely surprise of salmon that was the complete opposite of well done. At this point we are all just frustrated. At least the lamb was well done but the cuts were very bad, fatty and could have been prepped better. The only dish that was actually enjoyed was the pasta. We had high hopes for this after reading other reviews, not sure what went wrong but sadly would definitely not recommend.

We celebrated our anniversary on Jun 30 at Prime 79 and were very happy with the food, service, atmosphere. The lobster pasta was excellent. Calamari, beef capacious was excellent. We will be back. Service was very attentive. All in all 5 stars

We were looking for a place for lunch and happened upon Prime Seven Nine. We walked in (with three kids in tow) and were worried because it is super cute and trendy inside (translation = fancy). We walked out thinking it may be a bit much for the kids. Lara, who would turn out to be our server, followed us out a bit later and told us not to worry and that the food is amazing, politely inviting us to sit down. Lara was so very right. The bruschetta is delicious, please do not miss it! The kids loved their chicken fingers and gourmet fries (another loved the salmon). The vegetable sandwich had perfectly grilled veggies. Do yourself, and your children if you have them with you, a favor and stop by Prime Seven Nine. Thank Lara for us if you stop in!

Prime Seven Nine never disappoints. The food, atmosphere and staff are top notch. Sylvain and his wonderful staff always make you feel welcome and we love every dinning experience! Tonight we had a girls night out and loved every minute. It was sad to see another table of ladies devour their meal and then complain about the food when not a scrap was left. Sad the staff has to put up with that kind of treatment. We and all of our friends love Prime Seven Nine!

Negroni was perfect. Food was amazing. Not sure if we are out of espresso martinis means out of vodka, out of kahlua, or out of espresso, or another reason altogether. Server was non specific. Host asked if wed like a table, not recalling having seated us already 20 minutes prior, as we were enroute to the restroom, which the bartender made time to direct us to. Food was out before plates and silverware, which I had predicted would be the case. Wait staff seemed detached and uninterested. Quality of the food, drinks and fellow patrons made up just enough for extreme lack of genuine hospitality. To add, I would be extremely understanding had the place been packed, but seemed to be at less than 50% capacity.

Take note of the way they respond to fellow customers here - very on brand for the kind of customer service they provide. Always weirdly back-handed. Simple requests, such as ordering a drink, always came with a reason why it would take more than twenty minutes to make or came with a tone that made us feel guilty for asking. For example, when ordering a second round of drinks, the server (Jeff) kept stating he would be making all of these himself because he couldn t rely on the bartender. This was repeated for the third round as well. It really felt like he was making us feel guilty that he had to make a round of drinks. Ordered three espresso martinis and one was a very light cream colour - not the colour of an espresso martini. When we asked about it, he literally gaslit nine people by saying it didn t look different. When asking for a straw for our drink, the response was I guess I can try to find you one.. it ll take a me a while though. We got rid of those ages ago . Just say you don t have them? It was all so weird! Owners or hosts were just parading around like they were hosting a party, not serving guests. It was very pretentious, super cringe. Literally have never left a review for any restaurant but felt like people should know if you re planning to spend $$$ on a nice dinner away. Just be aware when booking - not a high end or fancy restaurant - as stated by the manager here - so don t expect it when booking a reservation. Interesting choice to have a $40 lobster pasta on the menu when you re not offering a high end dining experience (which also sucked btw).

This is one of the strangest dining experiences Ive had in my life. We had a reservation and they seated us at the table that was too small because they gave our table to a childrens party. It was a bit strange because we had booked our reservation at 9pm for what we thought was an upscale cocktail bar, but thats not a deal breaker. Our server brought out 2 drinks that were supposed to be the same and they were clearly different colours and we asked him if there was something wrong with one of them and he got very annoyed with us. The entire night he acted like we were an inconvenience for being there. The food wasnt terrible, but it was definitely not worth the price point. At one point their drink menu changed over and our server didnt tell us (how would we know?) and then he got rude and huffy because we ordered more drinks and then after that he just stopped coming back. We had paid for a drag show that started at 10pm and we left at midnight because there had only been 1 performance. I think they were trying to make it into a bar which would have been fun if it was executed properly but it definitely had too many tables out for the number of people they let in. After we finished our meal, we sat there for 2 hours with no show and no service and Im honestly just so confused.

Celebrated my best friend s birthday here last night. What worked: Good appetizers ( recommend chicken thai bites , fries,calamari) What didn t work : -Main course was disappointing and strictly average. The Chicken was undercooked and the seafood was visibly absent in seafoods linguine. The lamb chops were strictly average. - the service was lukewarm. The server had a hard time remembering our order details. - drinks and food was terribly overpriced for the portion sizes. All in all an average experience.

If your walking by your walking in. Very impressive I strongly recommend this restaurant. Excellent employees and Unreal food. If your looking for a nice night out you can t ask for more.

Overall I would say this is a very nice restaurant with ok food. Excellent service. My dinner companions dishes were good. They tried the calamari and a salad. Very tasty. Another tried the prime beef sandwich. It was just ok. I tried the octopus. Unfortunately it was bland. A dash of salt and a squeeze of lemon juice would have made a huge difference.

Nice food but when we had our dinner we had to wait for a while for each meal to reach us.

My son and I had dinner at Prime 79 last night and the service and our meal were perfect! I had the carpaccio as an appetizer which was delicious. We both had filet mignon as our mains which melted in our mouths. The veggies and arugulina salad were delicious. We both had the Italian Fruit Tart for dessert which was amazing. Definitely the best meal weve had in Collingwood.

Such a beautiful restaurant, very ascetic. Great service. If that still wont convince you. The food is amazing. Kitchen is killing it!

Came in for a beverage. The owners said the kitchen was closing. We said that we just wanted some drinks. They began seating us at a booth and then the manager came over to say that this booth was taken. We again said we came for drinks and they said they were saving it for the next morning service and moved us to another table. We then waited 10 minutes and no server came. Decided to leave. We heard the manager talking about us behind our backs. Unprofessional.

We had a private party for 15 in their private room. The food and service were great. The staff is super friendly. The service is quick, and the food was very tasty.

While my salmon dish was very good, my friends lasagna was probably the worst I have ever seen. It was so dry and had barely any ingredients inside. Overall, the price does not justify the food quality.

It was our 1st time here. The ambience is excellent as well as the decor. Nice touch with the pillows and baffles. Shannon our waitress was fantastic! We had 2 Caesar salads that were stellar, and bolognese for Allen and meatballs for me. We ended with a decadent caramel cheesecake and a delicious chocolate layer cake. We will be back . Ordered the Ontario Burrata salad. Cherry tomatoes were good. Larger tomato wedges were underripe and tasteless, which is very strange for the time of year. For the price, I really think the restaurant should be buying local and fresh seasonal produce when possible, especially for a salad.

This is the best and most wonderful place to have a drink or dinner or lunch. The staff are amazing and the ambiance is above par. Best place to hang and find out what is going on in downtown Collingwood. There are special dining spaces, including the old vault in this beautiful, renovated bank facility come and visit. These guys are great.

Waiter was fantastic!! His recommendations were spot on!! Dinner was so good, followed by a lovely conversation with Sylvain (host) who spoke French! We will definitely be back:)

Delicious steaks in a great setting at the historical building from 1876, which was the towns Central Hotel. Our party sampled many plates, and we were satisfied. The missing star is for the service, which was very slow and unattantative. The place was packed for a Monday night but quickly faded out around 9pm

Absolutely horrible food couldn t cut the bread chop lasagna was flavourless ..nothing seasoned server told me not to order a the black side linguini .. he said everyone sends it back .. was told the Italian Chef left for the night on Italian night . No garnish , cheese or anything manager was told by server to come se us he just shuffled us with his hand and never came drinks took 30 minutes came separate 10 minutes apart lemon seed stuck to side of Glass from person before my bill was still $180 I had spoke to them upon placing reservation that it was a 40th birthday nothing what a joke

Was very excited to try this place out as my partner and I have had our eye on it for a while. Was underwhelmed with the food and service. His burger had wilted basically black lettuce on it, when mentioned to the waiter he said it was because of the heat lamps. I feel it would have had to have been under there for a while to have looked like that which is also a bit disappointing to hear because not sure why it would be under the heat lamps for that long. My pasta sauce has a very strange texture and was almost clumpy. I was also disappointed to see I had probably 2 small shrimp in my entire dish that were cut up into smaller pieces to make it look more plentiful. Our server also did not really check in with us throughout our experience and I had to flag him down for a refill of a drink. The inside of the restaurant is really cool looking and has a great feel I was just disappointed with the food.

We have been dining at Prime for 4 years and always had a great time. However, the last time we went was quite disappointing. Waited 1 hour for appetizers and when they came they were cold. The bruschetta trio was made with a sandwich bun (not what the other tables next to us had) and had very little to no toppings. It looked like they had run out of the bruschettas and made up something in the moment. Not acceptable for a restaurant of this ranking. The pasta alla vodka was over cooked and the sauce tasted nothing like vodka sauce. The atmosphere and the service were good as always. However, our disappointing experience this last time will not make us return.

Had some very tasty appetizers and desserts at the Fashion Week opening. The crackers were soggy because they were prepared ahead of time. This cannot of been avoided, Im sure, because of the number of people being served at the same time. The service was great by all those taking care of the guests.

Its okay. Our server was friendly and likeable, and apologetic about them being out of a lot of things on the menu, which was almost comical as we tried to order. I tend to order the same thing (a specific main pasta dish) at every Italian place we go to, as a litmus test. It was okay, but not rave-worthy. Too noisy to hear or be heard. Soundproofing might help. I find excessive noise to be extremely distressing. They crowded too many of us around the table, cramming in four in a space that was meant for three, making one of our party sit on an angle at the corner, which was uncomfortable for more than one person. It took a very long time for our mains to arrive. Thankfully the starters came in a timely manner. The arancini was hard (a little overdone), rather than crispy and light, with a soft cheesy risotto centre. There wasnt much inside. Hubby loved the grilled octopus. I thought it was overcooked, as well, and too charred. The vegetables that came with it were very nice, though. À chaqun son goût. Bottom line: The food was mostly good, as were the portions, but its really noisy and crowded and I have enjoyed other places more.

The resto is in an old bank, and they have done a good job giving a nod to the past while having a contemporary dining atmosphere. Food was good, service was outstanding!

Sylvain and the staff at Prime Seven Nine are always so welcoming. The atmosphere they have created is sophisticated and warm. So much thought and care has gone into every detail. We always enjoy the food and wine and continually look forward to our next visit.

The food was amazing our drinks were equally as good the service was impeccable it was definitely worth it for my wife an myself to book a reservation for our wedding night dinner.

Overall was ok experience. Tinkerbella cocktail was good. Setting was nice. But Peggys salad was kind of sad... I mean a handful of romaine lettuce, a spoonful of chickpeas and beans topped off with feta and a vinegar dressing is not something that I would call fine dining experience. Not impressed. Overpriced too.

May want to consider a few vegan options. Good food and good service!

Food was great. Calamari appetizer was really good, and Gluten free! 12oz striploin steak with vegetables and a side of mushrooms. Dj music was a little too loud for me. Maybe thats just a Saturday night thing. Service was just ok.

I had Tuna Tataki, delicious, also the cslamari with shrimp, gluten free, except for shared fryer, also delicious. My party had steak fot their mains, I had ribs. Also, subbed fries for the Arugula Salad. The coleslaw was honeade fermented red cabbage, I really liked both. My ribs were not good. The sauce was good, but they were soooo dry, like they had been cooked a while ago then over cooked in a microwave to heat up My dining mate had steak and there meals were perfect. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, lots of choice, ask server.

We were in collingwood for a couple of nights and checked this place out. Great room, welcoming and very comfortable. Service was efficient and friendly. Burata was excellent followed by the papardelle with mushrooms and a New York steak, both were delicious. We will be back

We had a great night at Prime7Nine ... From the moment we checked in early and were invited to have a drink at cocktail bar - Gibsons - and received a text when our table was ready, our server was attentive, great chats with the owners and food was delicious!!

Food & service was great Busy place but nice vibe. Made reservations, got in a bit earlier. Salmon was delicious, husband enjoyed his ribs.

Went here last night for our 10th anniversary, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was gorgeous, and the service was impeccable! Our server (I want to say Shelley, but I m absolutely terrible with names ) was fantastic! She was very polite and funny. We ended up getting a tall table, which was really perfectly out of the way of everyone - which suited our needs pretty well! The drinks were very strong, I ordered the filet mignon rare and it was perfect. The truffle fries were pretty good, and my partner ordered the Tuscan chicken - which was also very delicious. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you guys, you re doing it right!

Super cool vibes, warm staff and amazing food. We had the service bread, parm truffle fries and we both ordered the steak dish. Best cooked steak I ve ever had. Wasnt the cheapest dinner but worth every penny. Great place for a special occasion. Lychee martini was well done too.
