Recently had a great evening with a group of 11 for my bud's bachelor party. We had a great table in the back with enough privacy and plenty of space. Our server, Suzanne, was exceptional from her knowledge of the menu, taking orders, table service, and a great personality. The food was fantastic and we were all very satisfied with the quality and value of the meals we enjoyed. We had 2 tomahawks for the table aside from our individual orders. Although cooked perfectly, the only criticism would be that the tomahawks could have been seasoned a bit better for the price point and quality of the cut. The escargot was great; oyster selection fresh and delicious. I had the bone-in ribeye done Chicago-style which was cooked a perfect medium-rare and easily one the best steaks I've ever had. Had to share it with all the guys and they agreed it was by far the best tasting item we had that night. Staff were also very friendly and accommodating to take some pics of our group for the memories. Would be very happy to dine here again. Thanks!
Had a classic breakfast with sausages. The toast was really good and the sausages too. But the coffee was average. Service was quick.
My mom and I were spending our weekend in Collingwood for her birthday. We are so happy we came across this incredible restaurant. The food was perfection, the service was exceptional and the owner surprised my mom with an amazing cheesecake for her birthday. The portions and quality of food can not be beat. I hope they open one closer to Burlington so I can make this my new favourite spot! Thank you again for being apart of our weekend!
We loved our experience at this restaurant! The food was amazing and well worth the price. The service was phenomenal, making us feel right at home and contributing to a great evening. Thank you for a memorable dining experience!
If you are looking for some great food and a phenomenal fine dining experience Gustav's is the place to be. My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of having Suzie as our server for the night. She was extremely knowledgeable on the restaurants wine and food menu. She was also engaging and a great conversationist. The manager Chad came and checked in on us a few times throughout the night and was very attentive. The food was phenomenal. I am not a "steak person" but can say this was one of the best steaks I have ever had. The sides were also very tasty and paired well with our meals. We would highly recommend Gustav's to anyone looking for an amazing dining experience.
Came for a birthday dinner/girls weekend with friends. Our server was amazing, every suggestion she made was spot on. We had the tomahawk steak, cauliflower and sweet potato side dishes. Started with the Brussels sprout appetizer which had duck in it. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the sweet potato fries were crispy and the dip was drinkable it was so delicious. Dessert did not disappoint either. Highly recommend this place whether you are staying at the hotel or not. It is worth the trip.
We had a great breakfast here, with some exceptional service. While the breakfast menu was limited, it was delicious and fresh. The latte was made very well, but could do with a little stronger coffee. Ample seating all around and we loved the corner seating we got.
Came here on NYE with my family while visiting BM. The service we received the whole night from start to finish was great. Our water was always topped off and our server did a nice gesture for my SIL’s birthday. Now the food. I had high hopes for the table side Caesar, since I have tried all of them in Toronto and really enjoy one when prepared correctly. The dressing is pre-made which is spooned over romaine hearts, which then Parmesan cheese and bacon bits are added on top. Then the server just torches it. Very disappointing. The Yorkie Bites were great. Sirloin Oscar: terrible meat quality and it was not evenly cooked to my requested medium rare. The crab was not fresh and had a very fishy taste which ruined the dish. Tenderloin: not bad for what it was in comparison to the Oscar. Hazelnut crunch cake: the second best thing we had that night after the Yorkie bites. The shoestring fries are great though. I had high hopes for Gustav’s but it was not a satisfying experience.
We dine here routinely as local residents in Collingwood. We are never disappointed with the food and service. If there is a problem don t hesitate to ask the staff for help. They will make it right however they can. The steaks, seafood and salads are all great. The wine list is not inexpensive but worth every penny. Highly recommend this place.
My husband & I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Gustavs Chophouse based on their high google review rating. We were not disappointed! Our Server, Suzanne, was exceptional from her concise description of the menu items to our exquisitely presented dessert, we were greatly impressed. The chefs culinary skills were on full display - the rib-eye steak, prepared Chicago style was simply superior bar none - flavourful, juicy & delectable.
Over price restaurant. Special fish and rice were super dry and rice not tasty at all. I wouldn t recommend to waste your money here.
The food was good, but the service was so SLOW. When we placed our order I asked about the chicken and was told oh, that takes 30 minutes to prepare so I ordered something else so our meal wouldn t be delayed. Then we waited close to an hour for our meal. No apologies for the delay and the restaurant wasn t even busy.
Had breakfast this morning and luckily it wasnt busy so I was in and out very quickly. The server was super friendly and efficient!
Unreal food and atmosphere. Service is top notch. Their drinks are the best in Collingwood. Try their margaritas, best I ve ever had!
We ate here multiple times while staying at the attached hotel. The food was okay, but the service was incredible! I didnt get our servers names, but they were all super friendly and efficient.
Minisule portions. Heavy on the salt. Hair in our food. Garbage. Used to be decent.... now it sucks. Calamari is probably the only good thing in there.
Stake was ok. Service was great
My son a I both love a great steak and tonight we were treated to one of the best steaks i have ever had. Chef selection 12oz NY strip (med-rare chicago) was absolutely delicious. Will definitely return when Up that way! Chris - Toronto
The food was great and staff were so accommodating to my elderly parents. Highly recommend for a family dinner.
Excellent food. Superb service.
Anniversary dinner fantastic all around. Steak cooked to perfection.
Exception service with very delicious steaks.
Rachel is amazing, she is such a joy to be with when shes serving us.
Such a wonderful night! Food was incredible (steak was cooked perfectly...do yourself a favour and get it Chicago style), service was top notch and we had a lovely time.
Amazing food and excellent service. Suzanne was absolutely wonderful and made the whole experience great. Would 100% recommend
Tara gave exceptional service when we went there to have a brunch. The veggie omelette and home price was excellent
The food was excellent but the portions were very small for the price. I understand good food is more expensive BUT I have eaten at many other nice restaurants where the food is the same quality and cheaper or bigger portions. It seems out of place for the type of hotel its located it. Its not a high end hotel and then there is this high end restaurant. The service was outstanding. The food was tasty but it would have to be a really special occasion for me to eat there again
My wife and I each had a drink at the end of the evening. The bill was very steep.
My wife and I went for breakfast. Not only was the breakfast amazing, but also all staff were amazing! My wife has a severe dairy allergy. The waitress and staff went above and beyond to make sure there were other options. Also, making sure there were no cross contamination. Our new go to spot for breakfast in the Collingwood area!
This is the restaurant inside the Georgian Bay Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham. Its a little pricey but hotel restaurants often are. For two adults and one child with a couple of drinks and dessert we paid about $165 with taxes and tip. Food is really good. Service is even better. My wife and I were set to order 2 6 oz strip sirloins. Waiter suggested we split a 14 oz New York instead. The cook was perfect (medium rare) and very tasty. This suggestion saved us about 20 bucks.
A lovely steak Neptune meal to help celebrate my wedding anniversary. And Susanne, our waitress took v good care of us to help make it a memorable experience. Look at what they did for our desert:
Have dined here twice in the last 3 months and both experiences were top notch! The warm focaccia is melt-in-your-mouth delicious - they should honestly sell it to locals! This is one of the few, if not only places in Collingwood that serves raw oysters and they are so good. French onion soup was also delicious. Drinks, apps & mains were all fantastic and the servers are pros. Very attentive, friendly & hardworking. Its a pricier meal but you get what you pay for!
I couldnt have been more disappointed by what was once a GOOD place to eat. I took my sister there for her birthday and the food was only mediocre and certainly was overpriced. Having looked at the menu on line before reserving, we arrived to find the vegetarian dish I had decided to order was not available as the restaurant just rolled into the summer menu we were told by our server . I had to settle for penne in Vodka sauce which she said was absolutely the best . It was only ok. Certainly not worth the hefty price they charged! It came with a few pea sprouts and thinly sliced grilled toast. Abysmal ! My sister s meal was also just as much a letdown. Undercooked and overcooked sections of her chicken and a potato salad that looked as though it was the last dregs from a bowl . And tasted nothing like the description indicated. Terrible .These diners will not be back! Overall a total waste of my money and dining out experience. Furthermore they over charged me by $25. On a positive note they corrected that error.
Food was mediocre at best. Menu had changed from website so what we had chosen wasn t available. My chicken was accompanied by a potato salad which was just terrible and my potato salad lover companion also didn t like it and gave it a thumbs down. Worse our bill was $25 more than what we ordered. A total flop. My chicken was under cooked on the leg and the breast overcooked and dry.
We stayed at the Georgian Bay Hotel for my dads 70th birthday! This is the restaurant inside the hotel and since we were staying there for the weekend we got 10% off our meal. Our server, Chris, was fantastic! :) Very funny, he made the night even more enjoyable! I ordered a corona to drink and he asked if I wanted a glass for it but I said I was good with the bottle, and he respected that lol! He told us what the market soup was that day and it was a potato and bacon soup, sounded too good to pass up. So I got the chophouse commons. It starts with the market soup and then you get a choice from 3 cuts of steak. I got the filet mignon wrapped in Applewood smoked bacon, Chris didnt even need to give me that steak knife, I couldve just used the butter knife, it was so tender and delicious! My dad agrees! We dont know how they got the potatoes SO creamy but Ive never had mashed potatoes that good in my life! Only thing would be the carrots with the rest of the vegetables were undercooked. Definitely a place I would recommend!
Loved our dinner at Gustavs. The food was exceptional - and our Bartender Chad was excellent and super friendly. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the cheesecake was super flavourful and the calamari was perfectly battered. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Chad and the team exceeded my expectations. The service was exceptional and food was delicious. They went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable.
Chad and Christine were amazing! Such amazing service.
Wow! What a steak! Come and enjoy a great dining experience.
Great steak house. Amazing food
Attended special South African dinner last night. The wine was very good but the food missed the mark. Two of the courses were over done. Dessert was the high point. Overall not good value for the price of the event. Stephen
This restaurant is expensive for the quality you get. The food was 2 star with 5 star prices. Service was also unprofessional since they denied us when we said there was spoiled vegetables on our plate. Overall, would not eat here again.
Service was next level, food was huge. I would love to go again.
I recently dined at this restaurant with a large party, and while the ambiance was inviting, our overall experience was disappointing. The food was okay but did not justify the expensive prices. Our waiter clearly needed help managing our table, resulting in slow and inconsistent service. After paying our expensive bill, we were uncomfortably confronted by a staff member about a review we had left. This unprofessional interaction further soured our evening, making us unhappy with both the service and the way feedback was handled.
Great food. Came out nice and hot. Great atmosphere.
We have been going here for a while. This was a birthday dinner and it was awful. Steak was so tough we couldnt chew it, scallops were the size of a dime. Very disappointed and probably never return. Sweet potato fries were the only thing about the dinner that was good. When you pay that much money for a meal you definitely expect more.
Very nice server. She sold us a wine-it was about $80. Was not very good. We looked it up on Vivino-Vivino said it was an $11 bottle. We shared a rib steak-they kept the rib (ie they cut the bone off and did not give it on the plate. The shrimp cocktail had 4 shrimps for $29 (The Keg is 5 shrimps, less expensive). The place has NO atmosphere the decor is not decorated, most ski hill Chalets are way nicer. Huge disappointment! Will not return.
Great food and service. Prices are very reasonable
We ordered the tomahawk steak and it was the best most tender steak we have ever eaten. The service provided by Suzanne was amazing!!!
Food was okay, I got some spoil carrots that they denied were spoiled. Overall food was okay but for the price was not worth it 3/10
We came to Collingwood for a spa day, the restaurant is attached to the hotel we stayed at. We came on the day after a long weekend and we had the whole place to ourselves. The food was delicious, I ordered my steak, rare, the server came back and asked if I wanted it Chicago style, I highly recommend it, it was delicious. We had the yorkie puddings, they were delicious stuffed yorkshire puddings.
For the prices they are charging they need to do a lot better. I had the Prime Rib special. I ordered it medium rare and was served a slab of raw, seemingly unseasoned meat. I sent it back and it returned closer to what I ordered. The Brussel Sprouts and Carrots were virtually raw. No salt or pepper on the tables. No complaints about the service.
Decided to take my girlfriend here for her birthday dinner. Marlene greeted us and was an absolute sweetheart. The most friendly and kind service we ve received and it was a pleasure throughout. We got the lamb chops/brussel sprouts as well as the beef stroganoff. Both dishes were out of this world and the quality really impressed us. Marlene made our night and was the highlight of our trip to Collingwood! Mucho gusto Marlene, gracias!
Delicious and well prepared food. A quiet place (ideal for having great conversations alongside amazing food) and extraordinary well tasting bites. We ordered braised lamb shank ( juicy, tender, and accompanied by made-in-heaven Brussel sprouts) and my boyfriend ordered beef stroganoff (creamy and full of beef). We also met Marlene, who oriented us with the menu and recommended not only the best food options but what to do around Collingwood. Gustav has been one of our greatest dinner experiences!
Absolutely fantastic gem of a restaurant!! Definitely give it a try!
The service was excellent. The waitress did an amazing job in making sure we were served properly and catered to. Very excellent customer service. The food was really good. I ll definitely come back. I can t remember her name but she worked on the morning of Feb 25th. Thanks for making our brunch special and the mimosa was excellent.
Good food. We were there in the afternoon on a Sunday. Food : 5/5
We went to Gustav for our 2nd year anniversary and we had the best experience! Our sever Christine was kind and fast to get what we asked for. We ordered the Tomahawk steak and it was the best thing we ve ever eaten! Their chef Johnny came out to show us the raw steak and then checked on us while we ate to make sure we enjoyed it. I will always pick this as my choice of dinning from now on
One of the nicer hotel restaurants Ive been to. Food was delicious and well prepared. Service was excellent.
Food, simple meals were dry, fish owercooked, octopys like a pice of rubber. Waitres were nice and d d their best. Our first and Im positive last visit. Food
Its a hotel restaurant inside the Georgian Bay Hotel. The place, including the hotel overall, was a bit dull with old-fashioned decor and gloomy lighting but was well-maintained. Seared Scallops: The scallops could melt in my mouth and werent chewy at all. Combined with the creamy sunchoke puree and crispy potato shreds, it was tasty. Top Sirloin: I had a 6oz medium-rare with sautéed mushrooms and roasted cauliflower. The beef was a bit dry and chewy because of a thick cut, but the meat quality was good. The mushrooms and cauliflower tasted good. House Cut New York Striploin: 8oz medium. The beef was way more tender and juicier than mine. Chocolate Mousse Cake was up to par. The wines were okay too. If you stay around Collingwood, this place would be a decent choice for a classic lunch/dinner. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 3.5/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 3/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 3/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 3.5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 3.5/5 OVERALL - 3.3
We had a great experience here. The food was delicious. Recommending the Steak and eggs, wings, Yorkshire pudding. Our server Tara was really amazing
Had a great dinner out! Chris our server was fantastic, personable and funny. Chad the manager was great too and even took the time to come talk to our table. Food was fantastic. Will be back.
Service was very good, food cooked to perfection! Will recommend
I got the filet mignon w/veggies & mash potatoes - steak was cooked perfect, veggies were a good variety and potatoes were out of this world good! Hubby got roasted potatoes, rice and octopus; the sides were cooked good but the octopus was wayyy overdone and rubbery. Server didn t say anything to him at all when he took the plate and saw that the main was untouched.
My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine s Day and had a lovely evening! Ordered a blueberry mojito and the winter margarita! Brussel sprouts, salmon for me and ceasar salad and steak with baked cheese cauliflower for him! Amazing dinner, our server was so sweet and checked on us all the time! Definitely enjoyed the vibes! Food
What a great meal. And friendly, efficient and knowledgeable service. Thanks. Food : 5/5
Excellent service. My family and I had a very good New Years Eve dinner. Outstanding attention from the moment I made the reservation from my country; staying in constant contact with the restaurant via text. They understood that I would arrive a few minutes late. Upon arrival, the table was ready. We enjoyed an excellent map maker wine from New Zealand at a very good price, perfect to complement the meats. My kids were very happy, and the waiter was very friendly. Highly recommended. Excellent attention. My family and I have spent A very good New Years dinner. Excellent service since the reservation I made from my country, you stay in contact with the restaurant constantly via text. They understood that he was a few minutes late. When we arrived the table was ready. We tasted an excellent map maker wine from New Zealand at a very good price, it was great to wash down the meats. My children were super happy and the waiter was very friendly. Fully recommended. Parking: Several free spaces and you can leave your family indoors and then park. Kid-friendliness: kids menu Very varied and included ice cream Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access from reception, for people with disabilities.
The servers here clearly care. Unfortunately, decision-makers at aragon restaurants, the seeming owners of this subcontracted facility, are taking so many obscene shortcuts in a place with $350+ menu options that it will leave you confused and disappointed. How can you be in a place that is willing to serve you multiple pieces of meat over $100 dollars that will bring you margerine with the house bread. Im not even sure theyre doing that at Montanas. How do you justify the use of pre-minced industrially prepared garlic in your pasta dishes, none of which are cheaper than $29? Someone at corporate needs to loosen the purse strings and get these wonderfully hardworking people some ingredients they can cook and stand behind with pride. Youre embarrassing them currently. I challenge the head of operations at aragon to eat the pasta arrabiata dish and see if it matches your expectations for any of the brands under the aragon umbrella.
The food was amazing, and the service was incredible! Can t wait to come back again!
Very disappointed by the service and food. My kid had steak and fries from the kids menu and my partner also had steak and truffle fries. The size of steak for the kids menu was exactly the same size as the adult menu. The menu said truffle fries and when we enquired about it we were just brushed off. The childs plate looked more appealing as there was roasted vegetables where as the adult plate was just processed fries thrown on the plate with a steak. No effort was made for presentation. The price that they are charging for an adult menu, a little effort would have been appreciated. A few items were ordered on the menu only to be told they dont have this. So the menu is not up to date. My vegetarian burger was tasteless. I could not eat it. My partner and kid also tried and they also said it was not good. The nachos was very dry and scantily scattered with toppings. The table should be cleared between each course. The waitress was a bit cold. The waitress kept adding more plates and not clearing away the dishes we were finished with. The restaurant was empty, I cannot even say ohhh it was busy. Poor service , food is not all that especially for the price. I will not be returning here. The picture is at the very end as we were leaving. Positives: The lady who greeted and seated us and the crème brûlée.
Food is insanely good! Amazing service! 5 star all the way!
Very nice restaurant, server was super friendly and the food was delicious
Serve is good but the food is not real good
Will be back!
We had a great time at Gustav during our visit to Collingwood. The server was experienced, very knowledgeable and gave good recommendations. The food was spectacular. We had the seared scallops and Calabrese salad to start, both were excellent. Our mains were 2 cuts of sirloin steak (my partner had the Kentucky Sirloin) and sides of garlic mashed potato, vegetables, and cauliflower. Everything was very flavorful, steaks were cooked perfectly. I gave 4 stars to the atmosphere since we sat at 6pm and that there is a hotel attached. While we were dressed for fine dining, there were others very casual and there were a few families with young children dining near us. Not too disturbing since all the kids were well behaved but could change the vibe depending on who you happened to be sitting near. Overall a great experience. Well definitely be back! Kid-friendliness: Definitely well behaved kids welcome Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is same as hotel entrance, no stairs required even when in restaurant
Went for my wife s 40th and the service and food was fantastic. Would highly recommend if you love prime rib!! Pascal was awesome!! Thanks for a great evening
Had a wonderful evening with my family here at Gustav. Food is fantastic. All staff members are very kind and attentive to us. Our server Pascal was amazing, knows the menu inside out and makes good recommendations. We hope to see be back soon. 5 stars all around.
Many people come from the hotel for drinks. Service was top notch with excellent cocktails. Unfortunately all of our steaks were overcooked.
Nice place to share a meal
The food was good. However, for the price point I thought it could have been better. But, considering that youre practically in northern Ontario I had to give it a higher rating than if this was a restaurant in Toronto. The service was good, the ambiance was okay. Everything looked very new and clean. We only stayed one night, I probably will explore other restaurants in the area.
Such a great time. Food was great. Service was beyond friendly. The portions are large so be ready. The whole dinner for 5 of us was very reasonably priced. The stuffed Yorkies are amazing. The ribs were perfectly cooked. Kid-friendliness: The kids menu had good options and fair prices. They accommodated our teenagers requests without issue.
Went for dinner last night. Got a few apps and a bottle of wine. Priced very fair and great quality. Everything was tasty but the octopuss was a big hit for me. Will be back forsure
Came here for breakfast, food quality is fantastic. The pictures don t do it justice. Omelette is thick, eggs are fluffy, filling is cheesy and so so delicious. Even after I moved to a different hotel, I came back to this hotel just to eat at this restaurant. Hope they will be here for a long time!
Food- Amazing! Such good quality and cooked perfectly. Customer Service- Really great! The staff are so friendly and so nice to talk to. Such a great atmosphere.
We went to Gustavs because we were staying in the hotel. We loved every part of our experience there! The waitstaff were lovely. He even asked the chef to let us try the oysters because we had told them they were on our bucket list but we didn t want to buy a whole plate unless we liked them (and they were delicious!). We ordered the duck breast and the prime rib and everything tasted delicious. Worth every penny.
Visited Gustav s for our first time and will def be back! Not sure how I never knew about this restaurant with the many years Ive been going to Collingwood. The atmosphere was lovely, service was fantastic, food was delicious and cooked to perfection and the bar tender made our favourite drink that wasnt on the menu, perfectly. We were satisfied with everything from start to finish. If you ve never been, you must try it!
Delicious Food from Collingwood Caterer - Gustav Chophouse I was searching for a caterer for a birthday party at my home for about 35 people, and found that Gustav Chophouse restaurant provided this service. Chad and Magda helped me figure out the menu and what I needed for rentals. We started with 2 small charcuterie boards for appetizers. Dinner consisted of Caesar Salad, Seasonal Greens Salad, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Lasagna Bolognese with fresh Marinara Sauce, Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Single Bone BBQ Ribs, Sweet & Sour Meatballs, and Chicken Parmesan. I have to say that I ve never heard so many compliments about food that night. All my guests were amazed how delicious every dish was. It was actually hard to choose between what my favourite food was - a toss up between the brussels sprouts, ribs, and meatballs! Magda and Chad were a great team, acting as servers and bartenders for the night. It was a real treat to have a bartender serving the guests, which left me time to socialize. Thank you to Magda, Chad, and Gustav for making the birthday party such a special and memorable night!
Just attended a wine pairing and tasting menu event last night and I had to come on here to rave about how fantastic it was. The food was phenomenal and the pairings were fantastic and plentiful which I find is sometimes rare. Wonderful job from the whole team. I felt like royalty. 10/10
Service is always very nice, but the food is mediocre at best - bland, tough steak. Beer glass was filthy - there was a film of grime all over it. When we arrived they asked if we had a reservation - we didnt - but the place was empty. There was one both taken, and maybe two or three tables at the other side of the restaurant. They told us they could squeeze us in at one of the high top tables, and we said that was fine, but when we left after dinner, the restaurant was even emptier. There were booths and tables all around us... the last time we ate there it was a similar experience. Not sure if it was because of how we were dressed having just come from skiing and snowboarding, or if its just some kind of branding thing they do to try to encourage booking and make them look more in demand than they are, but it was off-putting and the high tops have really hard, uncomfortable chairs. Anyway, this was try #2 and we wont be back again. Also - the music is awful. Like sad, slow, corny music from the 60s and 70s blasting right over the high tops. Couldnt take it so we left without dessert. Parking: Lots of parking.
Server was amazing!! Food amazing!! Drinks amazing!!!
Steve was a wonderful server. He took care of us at lunch and dinner and we had a great time. The food was delicious. Definitely recommend!
The service, food and people were amazing. Especially Steve. Steve was a great communicator and great at what he does. He kept us entertained until the food came. Once the food came it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be coming back when visiting BlueMountain.
If you re looking for affordable, delicious breakfast in Collingwood this is the spot. We paid $25 for the two of us and our waitress Tara was so sweet, accommodating and overall amazing.
Wonderful attention by Kerwin(?) with our party of 8. Food was quick, lovely presentation and tasty. Would definitely go again Food
Had breakfast and it was delicious. It was a little expensive. Service was good.
Highly recommend this restaurant! The meal was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make our visit special. Looking forward to our next visit!
They take reservations online. If you stay at the hotel, you get 10% off. Host and Waiter were friendly. The drinks were good. The food was tasty. Both of us ordered the Oscar sirloin and enjoyed every bite. We came back for breakfast. The food was ok. A variety on the menu. Breakfast waitress was very friendly. Went to the bar for a drink in the evening. Tried the Blue Mountainini and it was delicious. Bartending staff were very personable. Kid-friendliness: Kid menu available for 10 and under
They have many options and half of the menu is gluten free and great service and they communicate with you and are very helpful and the scenery is great its a chop house and next to blue mountain so after you can go snowboarding and they have a inhouse bar and soft drinks for kids and great music and art with great seating Wheelchair accessibility: Its flat ground so wheelchair access and next to none dietary restrictions great large parking zone they have many salads if your vegan there very kind friendly and other them soft drinks.
Awesome brunch, friendly staff.
amazing steak house, had the tenderloin cooked to perfection; paired with a great wine and lovely service
Jessica at the bar was amazing super friendly service was amazing whatever you needed she was there for you. Highly recommended
I recommend whole heartily
Service was phenomenal! Had the filet Mignon! Definitely recommend!
Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Beautiful atmosphere Parking: Plenty of parking
Loved their wine list. Meal was delicious.
Spent the evening of our anniversary here. Our server, Susanne, was a true professional at her craft. If I could give 100 stars, I would.
Recently dined in while on my way to Blue Mountain & very glad I did. The service was amazing, our server Suzanne/Suzanna was amazing, went above and beyond - she recommended the tomahawk for 2 and it was cooked perfectly and the sides & appetizers were also exceptional!! Great chef, great staff and amazing food! Will definitely be back.
Great service very nice restaurant portions are perfect 3 fluffy pancakes enough to fill 10yr old had 1.5 left over from an 8yr old. Chef breakfast sandwich was perfect for the wife and my favorite eggs Benedict was done to perfections with amazing Hashbrowns. Money well spent this place is a must for the charming atmosphere and personalized service. Patience, caring, understanding and respect is a must to enjoy every experience to the fullest. I have been coming to The GBH since 2007 and its great to see the transformations and it just keeps getting better and better now my kids get to enjoy it as well.
Girlfriends and I enjoyed breakfast here twice while staying at the hotel. Our server both days was Tara, and she was wonderful! Food portion sizes are perfect and flavorful, with tasteful music playing in the background. Only thing I could suggest is larger water glasses
Fantastic service first of all!! The food definitely didnt disappoint either. Wine was on point as well. Definitely give this restaurant a try if in Collingwood.
Had breakfast here. The restaurant is dark and the service is fine. The meals were somewhat inconsistent with the eggs Benedict being kind of a small portion and the omelette being enough for 3 people. The Caesar is expensive and tasty but lacked the garnishes which would make it worthy of being a $12.75 cocktail. Dietary restrictions: No dairy alternative available for coffee
Came for breakfast and had the basic and added peameal for 4 bucks. The breakfast was great but 4 bucks for 3 paper-thin slices of dried up peameal is an embarrassment to this place. Come on man! You can and should do better.
Very beautiful restaurant and the staff and good were amazing.
I don t see a rating for value and that is why this review is only a 3 star. I splurged on the Alaskan king crab and was presented with 1 large leg and a piece a 1/4 size of the large for $138. Without shell, I likely had 3/4 of a cup of crab meat. It also came with 1 side so I also had mushrooms as well. Service was good as far as our server goes but very slow delivery from the kitchen. We waited a hour and the place was empty. Kudos to Austin in the kitchen that presented me with an outstanding bday cake display (see pic). Great job Austin. Wish I had taken a pic of the crab but frankly, I was just shocked.
This is a really impressive place, friendly service, great breakfast and lunch specials as well, cheaper and better than Torontos restaurants of the same caliber and ambiance . I especially liked their French onion soup and prime rib sandwich for lunch. Kids value meals are awesome too . We will be back to try more. Kid-friendliness: good for kids as well
TBH, the steak is amazing . Wowwww the service is beautiful. Jesse , Sarah
Absolutely amazing service from Tara - she was attentive, helpful, accommodating & very friendly - she went above and beyond making the experience excellent! Food was also really good! Big portions, tasted great! Overall great experience, would definitely recommend!!
Great dinner and brunch. Onion soup is
Food was delicous, tasty, and appetizing. Service was great and staff was friendly.
Just like the hotel its located in this place was amazing! We only managed to do breakfast here but it was delicious and I can tell you dinner smelt AMAZING when we were walking around the hotel. The waitress we had was wonderful! (Blue hair) and we even found out she was local to our region and had just moved up here! Overall whole experience was amazing! 10/10 will be back and recommend to others!
Go into town for breakfast, trust me
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gustav Chophouse and Bar, and we were absolutely blown away by the exceptional experience we had. From the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant until the moment we left, every aspect of our evening was truly remarkable. To start off our dining adventure, we opted for the escargot as our appetizer. The escargot were cooked to perfection, with a rich garlic butter sauce that added a delightful depth of flavor. Each bite was a heavenly indulgence, and it set the stage for what was to come. The main highlight of our meal was the special tomahawk steak, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Cooked precisely to our preferred level of doneness, the steak was juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The generous portion size ensured that we left the restaurant fully satisfied. Accompanied by a glass of red wine, which was expertly recommended by the attentive and knowledgeable staff, our dining experience was elevated to new heights. Speaking of the staff, the service we received was outstanding. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met. They provided excellent recommendations, answered all our questions, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the entire evening. The ambiance of Gustav Chophouse and Bar added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. The elegant decor, warm lighting, and comfortable seating created an inviting atmosphere that made us feel at ease from the moment we arrived. The attention to detail in every aspect of the restaurants design was evident, and it added a touch of sophistication to our dining experience. Overall, Gustav Chophouse and Bar exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of delectable food, exceptional service, and inviting ambiance made it an unforgettable evening. Whether youre looking for a romantic dinner or a special occasion celebration, this restaurant is the perfect choice. We highly recommend Gustav Chophouse and Bar to anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure. We cant wait to return and explore more of their tantalizing menu offerings.
Ordered take out and it smelled so bad i couldnt even throw it in my own trash bin had to go to gas station . EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED
The service was phenomenal. There was only one server serving almost 5 tables. Even though she was alone she managed to keep service very fast and was super nice. She was answering the phones bringing people in too. She was doing all the jobs and did so amazingly. I wish I had her name so I could mention it here. Atmosphere gets a 4 because it s pretty basic in there like any other restaurant.
I ve been here on multiple occasions while visiting Blue Mountain and it s truly one of the best restaurants i ve been to in recent memory. Service is fast and friendly, food is priced accordingly, atmosphere is very subtle and the quality of food is supreme Parking: Shares parking with GBH but there s still plenty of parking
Maximum swag
Buyer beware take out got some poisoned food ended up sick worse place I ate in Collingwood just disgraceful chef and the host and restaurant should feel disgusted with themselves
Went for breakfast a couple of times when staying. And servers were very friendly and helpful. The food and portions were great
The appetizer menu is superb. Could be a touch cozier and turn up the music a bit for atmosphere.
Great spot for breakfast and very reasonably price. Very elegant fine dining for dinner although pricy its worth the money for an evening out.
Sat down and after 1hr30 still now main course, we walked out. Extremely slow. Would not recommend.
Buckle up, because this is a long one. We were staying the hotel July 2023 and decided to go to Gustavs for dinner because of the gift card that came included in our package. The menu seems perfect for the type of food that they serve. It took a while after we ordered drinks before we were able to order our meal, but so far no big deal. We were given two slices of bread that were cut in half which seems slightly too little but they were nice and warm and the butter was good. We had also ordered a salad, however, and we waited close to half an hour for that to come so at that point it would have been nice for something to be done to check if we want another drink or if you want a little more bread or something of that nature. Eventually our server came and switched out our cutlery for what was presumably the cutlery for our filet mignon. At that point we asked if our salads were coming and our server seemed a bit flustered but went back and got them immediately so they must have been waiting and just hadnt been delivered. Our server apologized and said that something would be done for us. That was appreciated because it was a simple mistake. This comment will come back again later. We ate our salads which tasted pretty good although Im not sure if it seemed slightly overdressed because the length of time the salad sat out while dressed. Our steaks came basically right after my wife finished her salad and so the timing cant be purely a coincidence. We had ordered medium rare and medium for our filet mignon. They were medium and medium well according to the menus guide on what the inside of the meat should look like. We had to switch our plates because the filet migons were delivered to the wrong person and even then after we cut them open my wife noticed that hers didnt have any red but was basically pink all the way through. Mine had a hint of pink in the middle. For a 50$ 7oz filet mignon at a steakhouse, it had better be cooked properly, period. But its possible it was cooked properly and left under a heat lamp. Either way, its an issue. We ordered the peppercorn sauce on the side. The steak itself was delicious and the fingerling potatoes we got were also good. The seasonal vegetables that came with the meal were not under seasoned, they were completely unseasoned. It was a little bit strange to get bok choy as one of the vegetables but that wasnt the main issue obviously. There was a long gap after we finished our meal where we expected our server to come and ask if we would want coffee or tea or dessert or something of that nature but given the long gap we elected to not order dessert. Our server brought the bill took off the value of our gift card and despite saying earlier that something would be done for us for the extremely long wait between our order and their salads coming and the fact that the meat was overcooked, nothing was done and we were charged the full price. To say that we would not be going back again for dinner would be an understatement, despite it being conveniently inside of our hotel. There were plenty of opportunities to avoid the errors or make up for them, but the restaurant chose not to do so.
Excellent food filet mignon was delish and shoestring fries, dont prefer the gravy. Service was excellent until waiter saw credit card tip was low because we had cash. Hate restaurants auto set tip to 18% and on top of tax. Tip should be before tax.
Absolute 5 star steak wine and service. You spend but you get!!!
Great food and service was great
Wheelchair accessibility: Its all on the ground floor. Plenty of space and access. Food
Absolutely outstanding! Service was impeccable, food was just great and the atmosphere and style was great. Great location. I tried the octopus carpaccio, filet mignon with potato daughinoise and vegetables, and the coconut creme Brulee. All courses were excellent and cooked to perfection. Absolutely would recommend
Great restaurant with super friendly staff. Shout out to Jess for her terrific service!
Great food and cocktails. Service is excellent! Kudos for Rachel for a really good experience every time I visited. Kid-friendliness: Kids steak option ! The best
We just finished an incredible meal here. As locals we have not given it a try yet but we will most definitely be back. Each dish was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Service was great (professional, unrushed and relaxed). Try the seafood platter and yorkies.
We were there on a Friday evening in August. Ambiance was lovely. Food was amazing. Our server, Pascal is a genuine treasure! Do yourself a favour and get the Yorkie Bites! You wont regret it!
Amazing dining experience! Great food and service!
Food, experience, ambience, service everything was top notch, will definitely visit again
Had a coupon, went for breakfast. Eggs Benedict is amazing. Good portion size, not huge, but didnt need huge!
Pricy but excellent food and service!
Omg . All I can say is this place is a dining experience. I was in town with my family and my daughter wanted oysters. Every place I called said they were booked up or they were closed. I called them and the hostess said come in and we will take care of you. Service was excellent and all staff is so friendly. Food is a work of art. Taste s and presentation. Prices are reasonable for what you experience. Thanks for a great time and the look on my daughters face was priceless.
Great place. The food was amazing as this was our second time there. Always a bonus having a prestige restaurant inside the hotel. Didnt wait too long for the food. Waiter and hostes were always on point and showed that they cared for your well-being. Great varieties food wise, little for every taste and mood. Definitely will be returning.
Our server had impeccable attention to detail. The seafood tower was delicious! Our tomahawk steak was out of this world! Ten stars! Food : 5/5 |
Early Fri dinner for four w/ resos. Server 161, table 23 sorry that s all we recall but tall gentlemen was excellent. - filet v good but said not the best - lobster v good - mushroom penne, good, could have used more mushrooms and flavour - soups v good - sides v good - ny 14oz, med rare, chic style with madascar peppercorn, one of the best steaks I have had - and I eat a lot of steak. Would definitely eat here again for the steak. Gave it a 5* though likely closer to 4-4.5 when considering all guests.
My steak dinner was delicious
Superb service. Very friendly and curtious staff. Well be sure to go back soon! Food
The staff were very friendly. Food was delicious. We were celebrating our anniversary.
Kirwan was amazing, so attentive and great service! Food was excellent, everyone enjoyed their meals and we had a group of people ordering across the menu. Thank you for making the evening such a wonderful night!
Wonderful dining experience
Incredible experience. Had the lobster risotto (it was a special) and it was one of the best I ve ever had. Caesar salad, fresh focaccia, french onion soup and yorkshire bites were all amazing as well. Service was 10/10. Atmosphere was great too. Will for sure be coming back frequently. One thing they need to improve is the signage to find it. It is in the hotel with no signs outside to find it.
Not a fan. As the prices are way too high..just grabbed some French connection for breakfast.
The food was so good. Steak cooked to perfection. Service was wonderful, server was very knowledgeable and helpful in making choices.
Taste good
Good place for management Christmas dinner. Pricey, food could have been hotter.
Wow had an off the charts family platter. Just fantastic. Knowledgable staff, excellent presentation and perfectly cooked. Maybe the best lobster tail i have had in a long time.
Everything was great. The only thing that was a little disappointed about was they were all sold out of my favorite wine. But besides that, excellent food friendly staff. Great find
Great food and service!!
My wife and I decided to try this place out while we were visiting Collingwood and we were not disappointed. I had the beef tartar to start and I have to say it was some of the best I have tried....I know you may be thinking raw beef is nasty but trust me once you try it youll love it! We had the seafood platter for two and it was also fantastic.... aside from the mushrooms we ordered as one of the side options...it was not what we expected and we were actually both very disappointed as we love mushrooms. But over all it was a great place and would recommend it.
Love this place! Perfect for an anniversary with a fantastic waiter. The food was pure heaven. Great rack of. lamb and tenderloin.
Great choice on the menu! Food was delicious!
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend in Collingwood. We had dinner here Saturday evening. We are the whole menu and closed the place, food service and wine was excellent! Thank you so much for helping making out 10th anniversary a memorable one! Cheera
The waiter with the long red hair was super friendly, very good food and service
High class presentation and too flavour !!
Deserted place on a late lunch on Friday but (pub-like) food came plenty, fast and tasty. You get a discount if you are staying in the hotel.
Intimate atmosphere but the food is highly overrated and the prices likewise. The wine prices are ridiculous so drink at home before you come. I ve had better food at The Keg and elsewhere. There are many other choices in this town. By the way, who dreamed up that escargot dish? It was the worst ever.
Went here for our anniversary dinner and was not disappointed. Prices are on the higher side but not exorbitant. We had the stroganoff and the duck confit and both here delicious. Service was great and had a great time.
Excellent service, great food and drinks and a cool atmosphere. Recommend to everyone.
Had a lovely dinner here. Drinks, apatizers, and meals came out quickly and were delicious. The featured dessert was also fantastic. Our server was very knowledgeable and kind. Would highly recommend, overall a great experience!
If this was my last meal alive, I would die happy.
Fantastic (even for takeout/delivery)
Amazing Restaurant . This is the 3rd time coming here ,very decent .The food cooked at perfection super delicious . The Lady served us today was very polite . .My wife and I we really enjoyed the dinner tonight . Thank you
Tasty and ecclectic, nice warm surroundings and friendly serving staff.
Phenomenal service
Food was disappointing in that several in our party were not impressed with the flavors (bland) or quality of their selections. Were not talking high end, upper class type food fare, just your plain typical middle-of-the-road pub food. Prices didnt suit the value provided. Service was impeccable though and we were quite happy with the attention provided. Decor could use a facelift especially the chairs/seating. Not really sure if the distressed look of the chairs was intentional or whether the weathered look was a design element. Not on our short list for a revisit anytime soon.
average in general, good wine list. we had grilled octopus which not bad to start; tender but need more taste; the home fries was outstanding. the salad is not fresh but the dressings r well balanced. GF has seafood pasta; heavy on garlic and the pasta is over cooked. My 8 oz sirloin was disappointing if this is a CHOPHOUSE!!!!!! it was i over cooked as i asked for medium rare, the server gave me a new one, which perfectly cooked. however i guess the cut itself not a good one. a bit chewy and not well prep. not even AAA quality. Our server is professional and clever enough that taken the sirloin off from my bill. He could tell i was not enjoying the steak at all. good lightings and spaces between tables. conclusion - salad and appetizers are better than the mains. hot dishes are cold. sorry one star
Fantastic service and beautifully prepared food. Had our anniversary dinner there this evening and cant say enough about the service. Attentive and informative about the menu and just plain nice people. Really appreciate what you do.
A great place to visit if you are in Collingwood. The pricing, food and staff are great!
Its OK. Keg like but a bit more expensive.
Good breakfast choices. Eggs Benny had a tasty hollandaise. Service was excellent! A bit pricey. Food
Nice atmosphere with friendly staff, tvs, lots of seating and a nice bar. Beers on tap and a home-brew that was tasty.
