Habitat Cafe is an extraordinary morning pit stop. They have an excellent team of staff and always go the extra mile. I noticed a bunch of band wagons feel the need to review with 1 star over some spilled milk, so I felt the need to step in and set the record straight. Thanks for being so awesome, Habitat Cafe!
Habitat Cafe offers a variety of good eats for students, staff, and the public. Lots of nice seating with views to the outside. Today I enjoyed a delicious vegetarian miso ramen soup. Delicious.
My experience at Habitat Cafe left much to be desired. The food quality was disappointingly low, and the coffee was below average. While the ambiance was decent, the lackluster menu and coffee options were quite underwhelming. I was hoping for a more satisfying dining experience in terms of taste and beverage quality.
Quite a handy little stop with simple but good home cooked food and friendly service. I was skeptical and we searched for decent breakfast options on our drive her from Victoria, but finding none, we arrived at the Habitat Cafe with low expectations and empty bellies which were exceeded and filled, respectively. It is a simple college cafeteria atmosphere, so don’t come here expecting fine dining. The menu was varied, the food fresh and well prepared, and the prices very reasonable. We sat at a corner table with a view over the fields and strait and Olympic mountains, and had the entire place to ourselves. Next time I won’t bother looking for other options on my drive in from Victoria. The nearby gardens are lovely and we spent the better pet of two hours exploring the college grounds after breakfast.
Located inside Royal Roads University, this is a warm ambient cafe for anyone looking to grab a meal or a hot cup of coffee. The staffs are friendly, and always carry a smile. Recommended: Burgers, Coffee of your choice.
This is a step above the usual post secondary campus cafeterias and cafes. It was clean, lots of seating, numerous offerings including beer, and the food was good. They even had pitcher pricing so you could go with friends and enjoy the sunny warm room.
Convenient for buying something to drink or eat after visiting Hatley Castle
Love this place, little hidden gem. Staff are so friendly and food is amazing!!
Horrible. Terrible service and terrible food. The owner is rude.
The 1 star reviewers suck
A very nice Cafe great food , thx to Chef . Vegetarian options: Borscht was excellent Food : 5/5 |
Staff are very friendly and helpful. They seem to enjoy their work. The food quality is high, although lacks variety. For a university cafeteria, the food is considered on the high end.
Cookies and Cakes are delicious, Barista is coollllll and I love and enjoy Latte coffee here
Great service, and a good healthy variety on the menu. The food was yummy. Vegetarian options: They have many vegetarian options. Not just salad , but other delightful options as well. Food : 4/5 |
Please update the hours on Google maps. Visited today at 315pm but not open until 7pm as listed. I have little luck visiting this cafe.
The school cafeteria actually tastes pretty good and the price is OK~
Small portions for the price you pay
Great service
Dirst time there. Had the traditional breakfast, really good, lots of food. Was unable to find the butter or margarine forcthe toast.
Expensive ,pub fareish food. the food is prepared by the same chefs as truffles catering. Thank goodness (for truffles)it isnt the same quality because truffles would be belly up.
Good cafe, there is definitely room for improvement, but the burgers are great
Soso
Amazing Staff and good food.If you visit hatley castel.Do have some wraps and a cup of coffee and enjoy the view of the castle!
Great and fast service, delicious food. A little pricey. Warm and comforting atmosphere. Several groups of students were happily catching up and discussing their projects in the eating area.
Great food. Maybe a bit pricey. Friendly staff.
Ok ok for coffee...
Expensive
Great place to eat when visiting Hatley Park
Very nice food and unique flavors I cant believe is a cefe from an university
This place is amazing! I have been on campus for two weeks and had many meals there. The prices are great, the service is quick and the variety is excellent. Breakfast is great, and they have good new items every week. I am a huge fan of this place! Thanks to their great chefs!
Good and friendly staff
Better than most University cafeterias, but still a cafeteria. Prices are really reasonable!
Great breakfast
Good food but expensive for a university cafeteria
Its small with a limited menu but its decent for what it is. Staff are usually pretty friendly.
Delicious salad bar tues/thurs
Ive never seen such a small and expensive university cafe!
Excellent food, great after a walk around Royal Roads
nice place. good food. good beer.
Its not bad!
Great salmon salad (5 stars for the salad) but it is a cafeteria and a bit of confusing layout if you do not know it.
Good place to eat for students
Good food. Needs to open later for students
Awesome breakfast, very clean nice facilities. Food was delicious!
By far the best cup of coffee in Victoria. My review stars are specifically for the coffee you cant go wrong here. Enjoy yourself a fantastic cup of Joe.
Coffee only, have never ordered food. Caters to student population of RRU
I go to school at Royal Roads so this Cafe is the closest option for me. Good thing its also so good! The food here rarely disappoints me! Its pricier than your standard cafeteria food but its so much better. I always order off of the weekly rotating menu, theres always something fantastic on there.
Theres almost zero vegan options
Food is pretty good but very pricey for a university cafe!
I am on campus for 3 weeks of residency. I found the cafe to be excellent. This is not your typical cafeteria food with food service attendants .. The chefs here make a-la-carte dishes with REAL ingredients, from-scratch sauces, and prepare them expertly. I have paid far more for far less. I also found the chefs to be very polite and accommodating for any sensitivities. Presentation is nice, and portions are very fair. Definitely a great place for a hot meal.
