About

Ramen Isshin means One Heart One Ramen. Bringing true authentic Ramen to the city of Toronto. Our happiness is your happiness & we always want to make you smile. We offer a variety of bowls that are very unique in flavours, textures and taste. We want you to have our "Isshin" experience and leave satisfied & always smiling! Our signature Ramen is our Wok Fried Red Miso Ramen. Every bowl starts in the wok. A generous handful of veggies mixed with our signature blend of red & white miso, sake and other seasonings are fired up. Tonkotsu broth is added and brought to a piping hot temperature, this is then poured over a fresh bed of noodles. This process melds all the flavours perfectly together to give it that unique Isshin taste.

Staff is exceptional. You'll never need to worry about asking to fill your water. You're welcomed as you walk in and instantly seated. The food options are vast, you need to scan a QR code for the food menu but the drinks and specials menu are printed. They have daily specials you can choose from as well. The washroom are big and clean and they have universal ones if you don't fit the male/female distinctions. It's very welcoming through and through. Would love to go again.

The Chicken Tsukemen is a must! The curry broth you dip the noddles in is thick, flavourful and not too cheesy but the cheese enhances the curry. Not too spicy at all, the chicken cutlets were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The split eggs were cooked to perfection. Noodles were thick enough to soak in the curry. I added an extra bowl of rice for $1 which was worth it. At the end you use the rice to soak up the remainder of the curry.

I gave this place a 3/5 because I honestly was not a big fan of the broth. Usually when I get ramen, the broth is supposed to be the main component of the dish, and at Isshin, for me it was quite bland and actually really salty. The service was great though and the atmosphere itself is nice, but I personally did not go crazy for the ramen.

The place is sooo good! Many vegetarian options even ramen, and the deserts were really good too! I would recommend Strawberry Shaved Ice, Mango Pudding. And if you don’t eat meat I would recommend Roasted Garlic Shoyu Ramen and Vegetarian Spicy Red Miso. Also service is really good, you get your food really fast and staff is super nice!!

First time trying Ramen Isshin. The restaurant isn't that big, but there is the option of sitting on the patio. I tried their signature Red Dragon ramen - decent broth, but the spiciness overpowers the flavor, and the 2 slices of cha siu was rather small. The ramen/beansprouts ratio is okay, a lot more ramen than beansprouts. For appetizers, their deep-fried AGE tofu and Tako Wasabi were delish! Their price is average in comparison to other ramen places.

The signature red miso ramen is special that topping is wok fried. It also comes with two pork belly. The white shio ramen comes with the sesame served on the side. The restaurant is not large so you may need a little bit of waiting. The servers are young and helpful. The food menu can only available online via a QR code that it is not the best experience for dine in. Although there are lots of Japanese on wall and you can hear a lot of Japanese greeting in the restaurant but in fact most of the staff are not native Japanese speaking people.

Good quality Ramen. Broth is thick and rich. Slice pork too thin, ramen portion also a bit small. Takoyaki is not good, not recommend. A bit pricey, service is good. Overall 4 stars. Can try.

First visit today, I had the Aged Tofu and the Spicy Vegetarian Red Miso Ramen (it was Vegan), both dishes were to die for, flavours took me by surprise, honestly it was fantastic. Hubby had the Red Dragon Ramen, with pork and other things, he loved it. Defenitely coming back or perhaps will visit one of tge Toronto locations. Our favorite Ramen place is J7 in Whitby, since the Vegan Ramen for me and the Pork Ramen for hubby are excellent but todays food at Ramen Isshin was excellent too, so we know have a new Ramen fav place. Service was phenomenal. Vegetarian options: Tofu, plant based nuggets, egg-free noodles, veggie broth.

I wish I lived closer so I could go to this place every day. I got the roasted garlic shoyu and it was so delicious. The broth was to die for. My partner got the Tsukemen (the dip ramen) and he ate it before I could take a picture but it was also very flavourful and authentic. We got the mini mango dessert which was enough to share and the perfect way to end the meal. The service and atmosphere were great - I definitely recommend this place.

I got a large don bowl for lunch. I know they are known for the ramen but I was craving rice. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the bowl at all - the meat on it was way too salty and the bowl in general lacked flavour. The meat was also cold! Not sure if it is suppose to be like that. Was pricier than usual ramen places too. Service was okay - felt kinda rushed. Washrooms were nice. Perhaps I made a mistake getting a rice bowl instead of ramen

Lets call it what it is. One of the BEST RAMEN ... EVER! Ok... review done!!!! Well, if you believe thats a Peter M. Review, then you dont know me at all! LOL! Why is this one of the BEST Ive had? Its because Ive been to a lot of places. Between my Yelp and IG romps around Canada and the US, Ive been to a lot of places... like almost 2000 places and as long as my ever expanding sweatpants doesnt create a wardrobe malfunction, Im good for a few more 1000s!!! Basically, I think Ive built up some creds for food and places. As of this point, Ive been to all the Ontario Ramen Isshin locations. Not because Im seeking them out, its because Im willing to drive a bit further to get what I want, including being at the Ottawa location when they opened. Look... from the broth, to their prep, to their carefully perfected recipes, Ive basically had everything on their menu by now. Today, I wanted something spicy and I havent had it in a while and I was craving their RED DRAGON. Its a flavour bomb made with 15 different spices and it has a healthy kick of heat to liven up your near dead taste buds (if you are a Clown or Crown Food Zombie). The highly slurpable broth floats perfectly made ChaSu and Onsen Egg on a bed of glistening noodles with spots of delicious oils and fats. Hungry YET??? If not, I would ask that you check your pulse - may have flatlined! For those who are less venturous on the spice level, they do have some great white and black sesame ramen. And if you like Tsukemen (dipping noodles), look no further than this place too! You really cant go wrong - and YES for those vegetarians, they have a ramen for you too! This Vaughan location is tucked away in a corner of the strip mall, outside of Vaughan Mills. Basically where Truly Thai was (if you read my last review of the Thai place, you might know why this space became available.) Plenty of parking, so you cant scream about that - like I do when Im at the downtown locations, and a Patio if you like eating outside... I prefer having my steamy bowl of noods with AC. The place inside has the obligatory Dragon mural on it, but the vibes of the place is set by the staff. A hearty welcome and great service seems to make food just taste better! If you are craving great ramen, hit up this location! SLURP!!!! Vegetarian options: They have a fully vegetarian ramen offering. Parking: It s in a strip mall with parking throughout the property. Lots available. Kid-friendliness: They have mild ramen and smaller portions for kids. Tables are well spaced out and it s a calm cool environment and KIDS LOVE Noods!

If you re ever looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant, this one gives a really good shot of being one of the better Japanese restaurants in the GTA. The Tsukemen has a very rich and bold flavour, and the atmosphere of this place makes me feel like a Japanese restaurant. The service is top tier, and they really give a vibe of being in Japan. The one downside is that it is a bit pricier than other options, but I believe it s quality helps balance it out and makes it a fantastic choice of Japanese ramen. Ive made it my summer goal to find the best noodles in the GTA. Wanted to try Ramen Isshin for a while, but going to DT location a mission due to traffic. Saw the Vaughan location and immediately pulled up. This is by far the best ramen Ive consumed to date. The garlic pork broth is devine. Garlic forward, savoury, rich, and delicious. The noodles are good, and green onions add refreshing touch. The pork though is succulent. Definitely get this ramen. You will not be disappointed. 10/10 Parking: Free multipurpose parking lot

Super duper happy with our visit to Ramen Isshin (Vaughan)! We pivoted plans at the last moment and went to this location instead of the one on college street. The staff were wonderfully kind and I appreciated sitting on the patio in the back when the restaurant was busy. All of the food is beautifully plated and it tastes phenomenal. I tried the hiya yakko, veggie red miso ramen, and the mango pudding. While all the dishes made my mouth water, the mango pudding launched me into outer space. Its so, so good and if I could order a ramen-sized bowl of it I would!

I came here for a Yelp event, but was not directed to a specific page so Ill leave my review here with this transparent disclosure. I came here on a Thursday afternoon, around 1:30 pm. As a result, it wasnt extremely busy but I prefer it this way. Excluding my table, there were about 3 other groups. We walked in, greeted by all the staff, and brought to a table meant for four but just the two of us. I liked that they tried to spread out the customers since it wasnt busy, which made the place feel spacious and more comfortable. The seating was quite comfy and the place looked very clean. We were instantly given menus - a physical drink menu but asked to scan a QR code for their ramen menu, then waters were served automatically as well. The server was quite attentive, coming back in a timely fashion to take out order but never made us feel bothers and/rushed. We were always asked if we wanted to order anything else, rather than just assuming we wanted the bill (i.e. we didnt feel rushed to leave even when finished our food). We ended up ordering the following: SPICY WHITE SESAME SHIO 18.9 100% Sea salt, home made Isshin chilli sauce, bamboo shoots, green onions, wood ear mushrooms, soft boiled marinated egg, pork belly cha shu, chilli oil, with thin wavy noodles. This bowl was for my company, so I only had a sip of the soup. I liked that there was a hint of spice but nothing that kills. It was fun to watch my dad crush the sesame seeds which were meant to be added to the soup for more flavor. KOTTERI RICH SHOYU 18.9 This is a classic rich bowl of Isshin Shoyu Ramen. Comes with bamboo shoots, nori, marinated soft boiled egg, pork belly cha shu, green onions & thin wavy noodles. Though Im a huge fan of spice. I opted for something a little clearer and this was perfect. The broth was rich, creamy, and flavorful but not too salty and I didnt feel extra thirsty after. I love their noodles, which had a good chew to them. My only request is I wish there were more toppings as the ramen only came with two thin slices of char siu (less than other places Ive been to at the same price point like Kuma in New Market) and half of an egg. Beautiful presentation for their food. Overall, a lovely experience and a cozy spot to come visit! It is tucked in a corner of one of the plazas located outside Vaughan Mills Mall, making it very convenient to access with ample free parking.

I had chance to stop by Ramen Isshin in Vaughn and am delighted to report that they deliver a solid ramen experience. Instead of my usual choice of black garlic ramen, I opted for the white shio ramen this time, with extra noodles and meat. (Was very hungry at this time..!) Accompanying the ramen, I ordered gyoza and karaage, which were outstanding as always. The soy sauce that came with the gyoza was particularly noteworthy, enhancing the flavors beautifully. While the sauce for the karaage was fairly standard (Ramen Buta-Nibo does a standout job with theirs), the texture of the karaage itself, which is mildly crunchy yet soft, was executed perfectly. Reflecting on past experiences, I must admit that the ramen was more memorable before the pandemic, not only at their College St location but also at the now-closed spot inside Kiu in Downtown Markham. Back then, there were simply no complaints. Today, while the soup wasnt as rich and wholesome in hotter soup base as I remember, I appreciated that they made a concerted effort to include all the essential toppings like eggs, bamboo shoots, and meat (although a lot thinner nowadays). The fact that the soup maintained its integrity, even with extra noodles added, shows their commitment to quality. The service was notably attentive and seamless, despite being assisted by different staff members throughout the meal. The restaurants AC was in full swing, a bit much for the days weather but undoubtedly a plus for the hotter days of summer. This was later turned off when I asked the server if it could be accommodated. Overall, the visit was very enjoyable. Their dedication to maintaining a high standard, both in their dishes and service, makes it a place worth returning to, despite any minor fluctuations in the traditional flavors I once loved. Vegetarian options: Miso (soy) soup is available. Dietary restrictions: Those who have difficulty with gluten might have limited options in this place. For dairies, be sure to check if the broth involves any form of dairy. Parking: Could be challenging to find parking during lunch rush. Also, the traffic trying Vaughan Mills mall adds extra challenge to getting in and out of the plaza.

This was our first visit to Ramen Isshin and we were completely blown away by the food. We had the red dragon (requested it to be extra spicy) and the stone bowl tsukemen. The tsukemen is certainly on par with some of the famous tsukemen places in Tokyo, perhaps even better!! The red dragon is vibrant and flavorful, a testament to the myriad of experience of the chef.

Ramen Isshin is my favourite ramen shop in Toronto and this new location in Vaughan is consistent with the food quality from the Downtown locations. I am super happy that finally there is a Isshin location outside of the downtown area where peeps who doesnt live in the downtown area can enjoy and appreciate the food made by the passionate and culinary team. I luv the kaarage (fried chicken), aged tofu and my beloved White Sesame Shio. It was a beautiful night with some breeze so we opted to dine at its patio space. I think this is the only location they have patio space so I enjoy new surroundings, enjoying a bowl of ramen in an outdoor patio setting is cool experience and not offer often from other ramen shops. We tried its cup size shaving ice and it was good size to finish the night. Friendly staff. There are ample of parking spots, however, during Fridays, Weekends, the plaza could get busy so you either have to be patient to find a parking spot or drive a lil further to park. This location is accessible for wheel chair, the surface at this resto is flat, easy to accommodate wheel chair. There is also a wheel chair accessible washroom that is also All Gender Washroom. Good job!

06/26/2023 Had a-ge to-fu, tasted like the flavour is mostly from chili oil, some stores had use a tempura sauce flavour, i prefer the latter. The best seller ramen, ramen isshin red miso, tasted a bit like egg noodle soup. Good but not favourite. The seasoning was nice, not too spicy, not salty, and has well balanced flavour. Calpico soda, a bizzare lime flavour that has a hint of sourness.... a must try for those who likes new stuff. 07/07/2023 Had a sparkling sake, you can taste the unique sake flavour but it lacks the kick, you can taste a fruity flavour, this drink is something to enjoy like a champgne with the taste of japan. Assari light shoyu was creamy and delicious, worth having a try. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian ramen

Went to this place when it was newly opened. Ramen was good and flavorful but nothing to rave over. The service was amazing. Pros: 1)Soup was very tasty and done well. 2)Egg was super flavorful and they definitely knew what they were doing. 3) Extremely good service - constantly refilled water and asked if we needed anything. Cons: 1) It came with 2 pork slices but they were the thinnest and smallest piece Ive ever been served in ramen. You could literally eat both slices in one bite. Might even give you a papercut. 2) We got the karaage and the serving was a bit smaller than expected- 4 small pieces for $8 was definitely on the pricier side. Taste was pretty good. 3) They didnt have the AC on when it was 30 degrees out. Ive never sweat so much eating ramen and we went at a time when it was not busy.

Ahhh, finally a ramen place near Vaughan Mills! The shoyu ramen is great, from the rich taste of the broth to the amazing texture of the noodles. I order it without scallions because I dislike green onions. My mom often gets a spicy ramen that she enjoys, but she is unable to finish the broth. Cane back here several times and its consistently great ramen!

Noodle texture is great. Broth is hot. Egg comes as a standard (included) item instead of other places where you ll need to add extra $ for the egg. Hence, the pricing for the cheapest option on the menu is $17.xx up. Not liking how the seaweed is submerged into the broth and it s so soggy. The red dragon is much more spicy then we thought. The char siu (pork) is super thin thinnest out off all GTA ramen places.

Ramen Isshin is arguably one of the best ramen locations in the GTA. We were three people, and we each ordered an appetizer. Takoyaki, karage and Gyoza (sorry no pictures). The first two were pretty all right, but the gyoza wasnt very good. We got the roasted garlic ramen, black shoyu and the red dragon. The first two ramen were flavourful and rich. But the dragon was just hot-sauce flavoured broth with meat and noodles.

Ramen Isshin, regardless of what location literally ALWAYS blows me away. The food is exceptional, the staff are welcoming and provide incredible service, and I have never left unhappy. The spicy red miso is the best item on their menu by far. If you don t like spicy, you can ask for the chilli oil on the side and poor in little amounts at a time until you reach the level you like! It also comes in a vegetarian option (which is insanely good)! I will never not recommend this place to people who ask. We drive an hour and a half to the downtown Toronto location frequently just to enjoy the food and atmosphere! Vegetarian options: Incredible tasting vegetarian options! The spicy red miso is to die for. The age tofu is crunchy and delicious as well. Don t be afraid to ask what on their menu is/can be made vegetarian friendly! Dietary restrictions: They are very accommodating and will ask you about any potential food allergens you might have! Kid-friendliness: Seating is arranged nicely so that you have room for your whole family!

Everything about this place is 10/10. Went for dinner on Sept 25. Not only is the food remarkable but the service was perfect. My cousin has a seafood allergy and our waitress went above and beyond to accommodate it. She provided information about different foods so that my cousin was able to select items on the menu that wouldn t trigger an allergic reaction. I have never seen anyone do that before and it was nice that she went to those measures. There were 2 waiters on the floor that evening and both of them paid attention to us which made our experience great because usually at restaurants, one waiter gets assigned to your table and the waiters who aren t assigned to your table basically ignore your existence. I would highly recommend going here for delicious ramen! Vegetarian options: They had vegetarian options and are accompanying Parking: Was going to go to the downtown location but was happy to find out that this location opened up - less hassle finding parking for sure.

We ordered chicken ramen which was super delicious, especially the red dragon sauce made it more tasty. We also ordered strawberry mochi and calpico (aerated milky drink) which was kind of like a lemonade with soda. Overall the experience was really nice!! I Recommend 10/10

I love ramen but this was probably the saddest ramen I ve ever had. I had the Red Dragon, which is supposed to be some red miso mixed with tonkotsu and chili paste mixed in. The broth was actually pretty good, and the chili paste was good. What was sad was everything else. Food has been inflated over the past couple years so it s expected that the price of ramen has been rising. But, even considering inflation, instead of keeping ramen bowls with the same amount of toppings and things inside it, for some reason ramen restaurants give less toppings and think they can get away with it. My bowl of ramen only came with 2 tiny pieces of cha shu and 1 egg, and I swear the bowl was more bean sprouts than noodles. That s what makes me sad, ramen restaurants realized they crafted this aesthetic of umami, savoury, boujee food that you *should* pay 20 dollars for, you idiot, also have like 50 pounds of bean sprouts because we re cheap and want to increase our profit margin, but that s fine because you ll buy anything! Ramen is supposed to be cheap, fast, and filling. Our appetizers came *after* the ramen for some reason, which also took 20 minutes to come out when barely any customers are in the restaurant, and we had to remind the servers that we never got any appetizers. Hey noodles is in the same plaza and apart from being cheap and delicious they have unlimited noodle refills. Their meat lovers noodle bowl is also 20 dollars but comes packed with loads of delicious meat. There is no excuse for a 20 dollar noodle bowl to come with barely any toppings. Ramen is in a sad state in the GTA right now. They realized people will buy ramen at any price and decide to cheat their customers out of a good bowl. Very sad. The broth really is good though. Can I just have some noodles with that please?

It s not a cold Japanese noodle, but the noodles are more delicious than the ones at Japanese airports. The noodles are also Q bomb. This fried chicken is really not delicious. Although I fried it to a golden color, it is very attractive, but the inside is not tasty and tender. It seems that foreigners like it very much. Its newly opened and has a reserved sign inside, but its just a cover.

★★
December 23, 2023

Food was not very good. Ramen had a weird bitter aftertaste and were salty Although the server was kind enough, it was extremely difficult to communicate with her because she couldnt speak English. They dont need to be super fluent but needs to at least understand how to take simple orders like can we get 2 Ramen and an extra bowl. The worst wad the atmosphere. They had their door slightly open and we are surrounded by a swarm of flies varying in sizes. Three big flies and two small ones ended up sitting on our bowls and utensils and later even ended up in our food so we had to leave half of our ramen untouched and leave to be free of flies. If a tiny store has that much concentration of flies, they should take action for customers experience. It was hell of a party of flies, with mediocre food and incommunicatable service.

So overall the food was 1 star. Japanese people would be real disappointed. On top of this disappointing food this cost 21 before tax and tip. Kamen restaurant is 10 minutes away and they give a huge load of chicken for a cheaper price and the broth tastes way better. Hey noodles is 30s walk away and they have super delicious broth, way more meat and cheaper as well. I will never come back here.
