I usually enjoy my visits to Mariner Brewery in Coquitlam. They offer good tasting craft beer and food. Comfortable seating with TV screens playing sports. Patio seating as well. Free parking lot.
Just had the burger of the month, the Fall Forage smash with the falafel patty, and a stout. Both were awesome. Falafel was super fresh and tasty. I've tried most of their beers, and kombucha, and I appreciate that they are all really different, and don't all just taste like hops. Love that they added a food menu! Nice to be able to get good hot food instead of just snacks, like a lot of breweries. This is one of my favourite places. Would recommend.
Great beers and great food for a brewery as well. We got the fries with mango chipotle and it was delicious! There’s also a great atmosphere inside - not too loud, good lighting and very clean. Would go again!
I was looking for a casual place to grab a drink and found this spot on Google Maps. The atmosphere was really nice and relaxing, and I thought it would be great to come here on a sunny day. This time, I only ordered a drink without food, but next time I want to come back for some food and beer.
First time back since the renovation. Sadly, it looks like a lot of re-branding of the same old product is 90% of it. Also, they took all the good items off the menu. RIP beer cheese dip, you will be missed. Sorry to say but it's not for me anymore. Also, $13 25 flight before tax !
Came to this brewery with a meetup group and it was an on experience. There were limited non-alcoholic drinks on the menu, but they had four different craft sodas. I tried the cherry cola craft soda, the taste was interesting, but it wasn’t great, a bit flat. I also tried the pretzel and they were very generous with the mustard, but it was overall still very bland and got too cold too quickly. It’s a nice space to hang out and it can get busy even on weekday evenings.
Pass on this one. Unless you're a beer and ale aficionado, keep going. Sorely disappointed in the food. We heard it had improved with new owners but it's obvious that more changes are needed. They charge $17 (plus tax and tip) for 8 chicken wings. That's outrageous. We tried the Jamaican patties and they were ok. The venue is cozy with more outside seating than inside. The service is "meh." The beer was average. There's not a lot for non-alcoholic beverages. The whole experience left us nonplussed. We will not go back or recommend it. We spent $65 for 2 beers, 8 wings, a can of ginger ale and 2 Jamaican patties. And the pressure to tip 20% even though there's no table service, left us perplexed!
I was waiting for the perfect opportunity to go try this local brewery and today was the day. We were greeted by our server who was kind and knowledgeable about their beers. They recommended the Blonde Ale ( Low Gravity Mango) super delicious. But, the food was not what we expected. The fries tasted bland and raw. It tasted like everything was made in an air fryer. The sliders we had were bland and the buns were not toasted. The chicken wings were a hit and miss. Some where nice and fell off the bone and others where hard as a rock. I would definitely try this place again because the beer is their saving grace but I will double think about ordering food again.
We loved the seasonal beers and the smash burgers were delicious! . We had great service and loved the atmosphere. We will be back.
Good beer! Awesome food. Best wings around!
Good place to have beer. Plenty of parking spots
Honestly, would have been awesome if the rest of the crew had taken care of us from the getgo, but instead was greeted and served by the guy with the bad vibe and attitude for the first half. Uh..huuhh. Youre going inside? Good luck finding a spohht. Who says that to welcome you into a bar/pub/place to receive customers? Plus, kept looking at my party, sighing when we were just trying to find a warm place to move after being very patient. Bad attitude overall. Dude, fire that guy. The rest of the crew was cool. Place was nice inside and cozy on a busy afternoon after finally getting some good customer service.
*EDIT* Editing my review to add one thing I would love to see - Happy Hour! I wish the Wing Wednesday deal was available like 2-5 or something other days. I was already a fan of Mariner brewing and had been a few times, but I went back recently now that their renovations were done and the kitchen menu was updated. I have to say, I was really impressed. We ordered the salt and pepper wings with a side of hot sauce just to try and myself and my wife absolutely loved the wings. So good we ended up ordering the pickle ones after and they were even better! Delicious huge wings that were properly crispy and crunchy. Great beers, great selection, great food - whats not to love?
Love the new Stout. The new Reno s make the place look amazing! They have lots of limited releases and their Hefeweizen is amazing! They have new food! The smash burgers are amazing! Both the vegetation option and the beef option are great. They also have really great smash burger tacos that are gluten friendly.
Removing stars purely due to lack of prices on menu, that stuff drives me crazy. Its literally the job of a menu
When I lived in Coquitlam in 2022 I used to go to Mariner Brewing quite often. Unfortunately when I visited today Ive noticed that they made a lot of changes. The food selection now sucks with the limited options. Some people dont eat beef and that leaves you wings or falafel. No more flat bread, no chicken options and no more spinach dip. We had to find another place to eat after we had our beer.
First time and I really liked the experience.
Best beer and taphouse!
Great beer and the smash burger tacos were pretty incredible
Blueberry sour was very disappointing. Too many kids running around ruined what otherwise would ve been a lovely night for my husband and I.
First time at this venue tonight (Aug 21) to see Fera - great duo - loved it - friendly staff and tasty fare - loved it!
Were absolutely thrilled with the sour beer selection at this spot - theyre truly delicious and unique! And now, theyve taken it to the next level by adding a food menu thats just as impressive! The combination of their amazing beers and tasty bites is a match made in heaven. Whether youre a beer enthusiast or just looking for a great spot to grab a bite, this place is a must-visit. The quality and variety of their sour beers are exceptional, and the food menu offers something for everyone. We cant wait to come back and try more!
Theyre up to big things right now. Renovation underway right now and its looking really good. New upstairs seating area/lounge. Looking forward to seeing it completed in March.
Loved it!
Nice brewery. Lafarge lake lager, and Mundy mango ale is awesome
Went recently for lunch on the long weekend to celebrate a birthday. Great service from brewery staff and really good beers !! The Texas BBQ food truck was AMAZINGLY delicious !
The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure I was able to get a specific Christmas present for my dad. Thank you very much!
Mariner is a vibe, great staff amazing owners. The beer is great and the new renovation are awesome.
Loved place and IPA.. I love their spinach dip but not so much about hot wings. Definitely go back.
This is a Brewery that understands beer. Ya the place is cool, but its all about the pints. Larger, Ale, Ipa doesnt matter its all A+. Much Appreciated Mariner Brewing!
Delicious beers, nice space, decent food, friendly staff! Will go back. Hopeful next time on my bike. Gotta burn the beers off somehow
Great beer. I love the IPA and the delicious Blueberry sour. Casual atmosphere with great food to accompany all styles of beer. A nice sunny patio out back or an evening sunny front patio.
Great Food and Beer
Delicious beers, great food excellent staff.
Awesome
The Low Gravity Dry Hopper Blond Ale is a great beer. I plan on buying this in can and stocking my bar fridge at home. Also, the pepperoni sticks are delicious.
Orion lager is very good. On my last visit I tried their Stardust sour - highly recommended! They offer a surprisingly large and very tasty kitchen menu with surprising variety (their flatbread is delicious). Great front and rear patios.
Beer is decent. The blueberry sour is super sour. Just had cold nachos and rubbery grill cheese
Nice patio and excellent staff
Brad s service was gr8 beer was crisp good work
Fabulous patio in the front and back, friendly staff and yummy flat bread pizza on sale Mondays. What else do you need in life?
Come here for the beer. But not so much the food Hubby says the hot dogs are awesome. Though we didnt try them this time so I dont really know. Nachos were ok. They are very generous with the cheese, but really stingy with the toppings. I counted maybe 5 slices of jalapeño peppers. It was mainly cheese and tortilla chips. Wings were pretty good. Nice flavour and texture. Mango ale is good.not much mango flavour but very light and crisp with a strong mango scent. Ended up grabbing a growler of it for home. The Mixed Fruit Sour is pretty good too. Not too sour. Theyre known for their blueberry sour and thats a good one. A little too sour for me though.
Great place to grab an above average beer, the amber ale is especially good Steve Marriott providing some music topped an excellent night. Guys, support this establishment. A true gem
Came here after the Coquitlam Crunch. Super rewarding and friendly service.
Okay.
Great beers. Nice stout, sours and IPAs.
Marinier Brewing is an exceptional destination that combines top-notch brews, snacks, and a remarkable selection of merchandise. The staff is super chill and friendly. Their beer selection is truly something to behold, with a wide variety of flavors and styles that cater to all preferences. My first sip was a testament to their commitment to quality and craftsmanship. The experience at Marinier Brewing goes beyond the beer itself. The ambiance is warm and inviting. One cant help but be captivated by the well-curated display of merchandise, which showcases the brewerys dedication to style and aesthetics. Whether youre looking for a stylish t-shirt, local Sriracha, or other beer-related dog toy, Marinier Brewing has you covered!
Went with my hubby for the first time in nearly a year to enjoy a pint of our favorite blueberry sour. Unfortunately, it was not good at all. We watched then pouring from the tap with over half the glass full of head and then proceeded to fill it up bits at a time while pouring off the foam. Eventually, my beer was poured from one glass to another and served to me. It tasted disgusting! My husband went back to get a repour and it was equally as disappointing. He ordered a different beer and said it was okay. Not the experience we are used to - super disappointing as it used to be a favourite spot and it was essentially a waste of $20+tax & tip. Will not be returning, sadly.
I love the Blueberry sour beer here. Nice atmosphere to enjoy a glass of beer.
First time and won t be the last time. As a non-beer drinker, it was great to finally find a local place with non-alcoholic options, non-beer options AND food. The hot wings were delicious as were the pita and hummus.
Great beers & hotdogs
Love this place! They have THE BEST mango beer. Good chicken and fries
2022 update: This is my favourite drop in spot to meet and have a beer. Self-service is gone, however the servers check in just often enough to garner timely refills. The beer? Well, depends on what you want, I am not a big fan of sour, but love the summer beers and some of the exploratory beers have been a pleasant surprise. The standby Orion lager is my standard brew.. Keep up the good work! Happy Birthday, Mariner Brewing The owners had a great selection of Exploratory beers Lemon Saison, Blackberry IPA and Blood Orange Ale springing to mind. Went there on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. My buddy got hooked on the Blueberry Ale and I tried a variety or different brews. The place was PACKED, which is not quite normal and the staff were a little overwhelmed. This was made worse by a cashier who was incredibly slow. But the rest of the staff picked up and took orders while we waited for the cashier and also pulled out a phone-based reader. The place was in great spirits literally and figuratively. A great experience. This place is not in the greatest of locations but at the same time, it isnt packed out the door either.
Great beer, food and service
3.5 stars. Good beer, good design, solid staff. Nothing shines but that s ok. Couldn t tell if I was on a boat or in space, mixed vibes there. Best pretzel I ve had in the tri cities area.
A gem of Coquitlam. Lots of parking out front, and patio options for better days. Good beer, good selection of food. Great system implemented for an attentive table service. Dividers between all the tables.
Dark lager is really delicious. If youre thinking of dark beer, its exactly what you were thinking of.
Small yet cozy brewery with great selection. I love the IPA and the Hazy beef at this location.
Great option for food and drinks in Coquitlam. For a brewery they have plenty of food choices. Got some good deals on daily specials and happy hour. Have a variety of beer selections to please your palate. Also friendly staff and service.
Great beer, great staff, could always use more hot food options but everything else is worth 5 anyways.
Marinar always has delicious beers and friendly service. We enjoy coming here every now and then for their tasty sours. I am always not impressed with the food however. The Jamaican patties were not bad flavour wise but both mine and my partners were cold in the middle
Seems like the place to be on a Friday. Try the Arti, named after the best doggo ever, great tasting beer.
Very friendly staff, great beer, exceptional glassware. All made for a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!
The food was not very good at all - it tasted like it had come frozen rather than made in the brewery. The beers were good, nothing special. When we went the seating areas needed to be cleaned.
I get overwhelmed from large selection of beers. That said, all 10 Ive tried thus far have been very good. Yet to find a favorite. I suppose Ill have to keep coming until I find one.
Great local craft beer but when I go there to buy beer to go direct from the brewer the bartender wants a tip. I take a 6 pack from the fridge, bring it to the counter and he wants a tip for what??! This is getting out of hand.
Excellent beer, great service, and I LOVE the vegan Jamaican patty. Mariner is also a Tri-Cities Chamber member, supporting the business community and local prosperity. Great people. Thank you, Mariner!
A really pleasant surprise. We have been to many of the breweries along Brewers Row, but this one is off that path. But they have a great selection of beer, and far more food choices (including things like nachos) that the other breweries don t have. Worth stopping by at.
Great bear and nice staff, but the food is not very good.
Great beer and food at reasonable prices!
Great vibes, great beer
Best stout ever had in the world as an Alcohol lover. Though I don t prefer IPAs, was good as well. Must go place in Vancouver
Had some lovely flavourful beers. Light and refreshing. Mango, blueberry and stardust.
Just a great tasting room. Beer... great. Food... great. Staff is on point with service and friendly. Unexpected bonus.... music is really good as well. You wont be disappointed.
Great selection & pretty good food too.
Jan 22, 2021: First time coming back to Mariner - came here last year and found their beer super over the top (see review below). Completely different experience this time around!! Their mango daydream IPA was absolutely amazing! And I could drink their mocha and chili stouts everyday!! Great beer Last year: Great venue and staff and service but unfortunately the beer wasn t that good - I shared 2 flights and essentially tried almost every beer they had and each one was really an assault to the tastebuds! Very extreme tastes that made it hard to finish the taster size- just feels like they tried too hard to be different. If you like strong different tastes then their beer is the beer for you!
Such a cute little brewery with chill atmosphere. It will definitely become our regular place have their local brew!
Pretty good craft brewery in Coquitlam.
Great spot for a craft pint. Really enjoyed the meatball sub!
Delicious beer, amazing daily feature taps, food, Phillips non alcohol options, minor friendly, nice room, constellation themed, love their main stay blueberry sour, it s a hit! Comfortable seating, dog friendly back outdoor patio. Cider and wine also an option. Easy parking. Rotating sour beer as well. Food selection is great. Try the strawberry rhubarb sour, and enjoy their great playlist of music!! Two outdoor seating area now! Their weekly beer exploratory batches are a definite hit and very creative. Good food!
Enjoyed the beer abd appy. Disappointed in the not friendly service and overcharged on my last drink.
This place is a hidden gem. Not only does it have great beer, but also a great menu. As an additional bonus, the low gravity beers are low carb and a great option for people who like enjoy less sweet coolers rather than beer.
Great local brewpub. Very friendly staff
Best sours and excellent dry hops
Ive postponed my trip to the Mariners tasting room for way too long. It also took me way too long to realize that all the constellations on their can design are connected to actual mariners navigating using stars and not just their location right next to Mariner Way. Somewhat embarrassing. On another note, they offer a very diverse and unique list of brews. I cant imagine that someone wouldnt be able to pick a brew or two, at least, that will meet their expectation. I understand that its not cost-effective for many breweries to keep a full kitchen, but when there is one in a brewery, Im a happy person Id rather have my beers and food together. The kitchen is pretty good here as well. Overall, we had a great time here, tried awesome beers, ate good food, took some brews and glassware to go. Sounds like an awesome night to me.
Excellent selection and variety of beers. Limited, but very good food. Accessible bathrooms
Quick service, outside seating. Good beer and assortment of ciders and pop. They several light food items to complement the drinks. The fresh made soft & hot pretzels are great with a beer! The patio is great in the warm weather. The seating is a little snug for 2 side by side but workable.
Decent place. Would try again.
It was great to be greeted as soon as I walked in. The staff were very friendly. Great atmosphere. Social distancing was observed with table dividers. Variety of beer selections. Very original flavours to choose from. I was satisfied with my selection. The menu was easy to access. Many different food choices. The rice was mushy and needed more Teriyaki sauce. The service was fast. I look forward to going back and trying a different menu item.
Hidden gem in Coquitlam. Good beer and delicious food. Highly recommend the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Front and back patios are also dog friendly!
Love It! Great place to go with friends and enjoy a sunny afternoon. Great beer choices and food is delicious. Super recommend and I will definitely be back.
I love their Low Gravity Pink Grapefruit. The menu is assessable through QR code on the table. If you need something you just clip the small sign on the table and a server will come to your table. I love this because it s so easy to order and you don t have awkward conversation breaks whenever a server comes to ask if you need anything. I normally get a flight and each drink is labelled on the side which is nice. I tried their yam fries and it wasn t my favourite as it was too salty but it s healthy as it appears to be baked not fried? So far my favourite brewery in the tri-cities.
First time here! Really awesome spot for some great beers. I had the apricot peach sour, would drink again. Service was great, next time I will try some food as their prices are SO AFFORDABLE.
Delicious mango pineapple ipa. Pprk sliders needed a bit more filling and the poutine needed a bit more cheese but good.
Mango pineapple beer is the best!
Great beer, food and staff! You folks came highly recommend and you definitely didnt disappoint! The huge thing for me was how genuinely kind staff was. Our nachos were perfect and the beer recommendation was well done. Thank you again!
First time visiting this week. Wanted to take advantage of happy hour on a Sunny Monday afternoon. Waitress was quick to seat us and take our order. No mention of happy hour specials. Ordered two pints of their beers and a Nachos fries. Beers were OK but nothing close to what is available close by at other breweries. Nachos fries were way too salty as if they dropped the salt shaker on top of plate. When bill came waitress told us only sleeves are available with happy hour pricing. Sorry nothing we can do. Will not return.
Nice beer, great service, must try.
5 out of 5 meow meow beans!
The live music was wonderful. Beers were good! The mystery brew is great
The only thing I enjoyed about the brewery was at the space, otherwise the beer was terrible. One of my IPAs tasted like soap unfortunately. I couldnt even finish two out of my four beer on the flight.
At happy hour, food was great, cheap and tasty! You got to try this Tequila sunshine and if you are like me ask for extra sweetness! Yum!!!!
Love Love the low carb beer options. They are very good. Most breweries laugh when I ask them if they would consider making a low carb beer. THANK YOU
Great choice of beer, friendly service, and an excellent patio.
Bar none the best brewery in the tri-cities. Mariner has an excellent core beer list and rotating brew on tap that there is always a great variety to choose from. Ive been visiting since the opened and still find myself ordering different flights which is fun. Not to mention the food and service are great! Everyone is friendly, dog-friendly and the subtle space theme is so COOL.
Love their beers and pizza!
I had a flight of fruit beer and spinach dip which was both delightful. But I had their tomato soup that was served cold to me, and their yam fries which was burnt enough that it was not very easy to eat. Their beer and dips Ive never had issues with, but their other food was sadly a disappointment. Ill come back for their beer, but will stick to the spinach dip from now on.
Great beer and food! Love it!
Beers pretty good. Layout of the place is great, love the atmosphere. Wish they kept going with the open mic nights.
What a great spot to hangout after a long week or a hike in the nearby trails! Got a tasting flight, a great selection of beer available to cater to any beer lover. The mango IPA is amazing! Jamaican patty and hotdog were slightly on the pricey side but they were delicious and a great compliment to the beer! Staff was friendly!
Fantastic beers and an excellent spot to relax in. Nice to see some food options as well.
Awesome beer, nice taproom, friendly staff. Love the year round patio. New beers out all the time, always something new to try. A style of beer for everyone. Food is good too. Events are a fun time.
Beers are very try hard flavours are too extreme, of the two flights we got (all different beers) only 1-2 were actually enjoyable to my wife and I. *Response* I would have liked having a sweater wheat or sour (not so extreme), and more of a plain lager/ale.
Very impressed with this brewery! Were big fans of sours and IPAs, and we thought all the beers were really well done. The inside is very cute as well, with nice long tables for groups, and great navy and gold colouring. Will definitely be back!
Not bad I liked the sour .
Great service! Even on holidays.
Tasty beers and their outdoor drinking area in the back is great!
Great beer, staff and atmosphere. Always enjoy my time at Mariner. Also, I must add, they are doing a great job with social distancing. BTW their kitchen is open and the food is awesome.
West coast brewery tour continues. Selection of Radlers and Stouts this time around.
Killer beers...... Always
The beer here makes you enjoy it. The ambience is good and comfortable. Music is relaxing and at a good volume where you can have conversation without feeling the need to shout. Its worth a try if youre thinking about hanging with a small group of friends. The staff here are brilliant people.
The food was good, service was a little chaotic but it was a good spot and I would definitely go back
Good sour ales but very expensive compared to other breweries in the area. No free delivery for orders, $17 for 4 cans vs nearly half price for other breweries of same volumes.
Very open
Great summer ales and porters, incredible staff , very good patio seating and ambience, great music and good food!! Love their name too!
Really good beer, great food and nice place to go with friends.
Great place to have a beer or two, food is great but most of all theres one staff member that really makes it an amazing place, thank you Michelle for always being so helpful, friendly and just for doing more then you should
Spent a fun afternoon enjoying patio time today. The patio on the north side, or front of the building can be cooler with the breeze. Covid procedures can be improved with removal of some seating, as I had to walk past seated patrons within the 6 physical bubble. Other than that, I felt very safe. Beer. Beer. Beer. Where to start. Strawberry daiquiri sour was exceptional. The mystery brew was enjoyable too. I bought some other beers to try at home. Very wide range of beer types here, so get a flight and see how adventurous you can be.
Beer is their specialty. Foods alright nothing special. But there beer carries them. Service equally as good as their beer.
Nice selection of brews in a casual atmosphere.
Great products, awesome staff! They take care of their people!!
Their mango IPA is one of the best fruit forward IPA s I ve had. Staff are super friendly and it has a better selection of food than most breweries. Think this could be a new local for me!
Great selection of beer including fruit beers. They have also added an option of Kombucha for a non-alcoholic choice unless you chose to get a shot of vodka or gin. The staff make me feel right at home.
Mariner always has a great selection of tasty beers, friendly staff, and a comfortable atmosphere. One of my favourite breweries!
Great atmosphere,. fantastic wings, shout-out to the best bartender Brendan, who made the experience so memorable!! Definitely will be going back
Picked up a 4 pack of their grapefruit beer to try. Staff member doing the sale was incredibly friendly. I found the beer to be a bit soapy? Definitely not the best fruity beer Ive ever had but still drinkable.
Cranberry Gin Mint Sour, the one and only beer I will drink. Love it!!
We came on a cool winter day but shortly we are looking forward to their outdoor patio. I do have to say in order to get a positive review for customer service they will definitely have to up their staffing if its to become busier which Im sure it well. My acquaintances enjoyed their ale and I have to say it looked well-crafted. I myself ordered the one cider there was on tap and I was disappointed at the non-industry small size offered as it was basically a pinch above a sample size, while everyone else had these large glasses of ale. I didnt really understand the comparison for customer value. They do offer in-house boardgames, jenga, cards etc. and we enjoyed Uno while conversing. The service staff were friendly and there is a good mixture of ready to go edible items on their menu although Im not sure what was available on the day.
Wonderful!
Todays flight consisted of the Berliner Weisse, the Orchard Ale, the Mocha Stout and the cranberry-gin-mint sour. All winners.
Good beer and live music
Awesome brews - the Chestnut Ale is great! Friendly service and a nice tasting room!
Great beer selection, friendly staff!
This place does everything right. Great beer, especially if you like sours, two patio areas, games and awesome food. They have lots of sharing snacks, amazing popcorn, hot dogs and flat breads. I love it here!
They have great beer and the best flat breads . The Blue berry sour is the best
The aesthetic of this place is great! Their beers are good with a lot of variety. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is nice. Their patio is amazing since there is a fireplace where it makes the vibe quite cozy.
Great place with a fun vibe, excellent beer, and really good customer service. Would definitely recommend.
We got some of their beer from a farmers market, and decided to check out their brewery. The inside seating is super comfy, but they keep the music super loud. We had to move away from the speaker so we weren t yelling at each other. The beer is fabulous, and it s nice that the brewery has a kitchen and serves good food. I just wish they had plates. My partner s gourmet hot dog was served on a small flat wooden board that just fit it. Most of the crunchy onion toppings ended up all over the table. Not a big deal since we left right after we ate, but if we did want to play the board games they have there, we d either have to move or flag down the already busy staff for a rag. The butter chicken flatbread tasted great, but also was served on a similar wooden board that had deep cracks in it that didn t feel quite food safe. Experience could be better, but great beer!
Fabulous beers, and tasty food. Nice athmosphere too.
We have been coming here since this place opened and it only gets better. The regular beers on tap are on fantastic, and they always introduce new ones. They have pretty awesome food available as well if you don t feel like ordering out or bringing your own.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great beer. My favorite is the Blueberry Sour!
I love this place. The beers are great and the staff is amazing. The environment is second to none. One of my favorite places to go!
Great place
